Do your little Jewish sim boys need itchy cardigans to be shoved into for holiday events? Then these are for you!

I thought it sad that the Seasons cardigan had Christmas Tree cardigans but nothing for Hanukkah or Rosh Hashanah, so I decided to try my hand at a few extra swatches. Although the Star of David and Menorah cardigans repeat the pattern all the way around, the Apples and Honey cardigan reads "שנה טובה."

Shanah tovah to you and yours these High Holidays.

Credits: The dreidel was converted to an accessory from @pandorasimbox’s Judaism Stuff Pack. You do not need to download their CC for the accessory to show up and work in game, but I would recommend it because it’s a great set of CC. Shoutout to them and their TOU for allowing me to convert it to an accessory!

Set Up: Place all teleporters in the center of the table. Sim A is the only one that needs to have the dreidel accessory (which can be found in the ring category). It’s a stigmata accessory which will enable the dreidel to move freely around the table as needed.

Free Palestine: Lookbook & Donation Links

I've been losing my mind watching western media and governments ignore, spread propaganda and worst of all: sponsor the genocide of Palestinians the last eight months; I can't even fathom what it must be like to live in Gaza or the West Bank. I am ashamed to admit I was ignorant to a lot of the world's atrocities until October 2023. Since then, I've learned so much about Palestine and the apartheid settler-colony that is "Israel". The myth that Israel is essential to Jewish safety is so embedded in western culture that for 76 years the world has continued to turn a blind eye to (or finance) so many horrors inflicted by Israeli settlers on the Palestinian people. I've lost track of the amount of burnt and/or dismembered bodies I've seen from bombs my taxes pay for. I cannot understand how people are not radicalized by all this barbarity.

I've been contributing to people in Gaza's GoFundMe campaigns when I can and I want to include some donation links here, please contribute if you are able. Even a little goes a long way towards food and hopefully, eventually, safe passage to Egypt.

This lookbook is inspired by Palestinian people. I tried to include both traditional attire with the closest thing I could find to Palestinian thobes with tatreez embroidery, along with turbans and hijabs, as well as those who dress more modern/not hijabi. I also tried to include as many keffiyehs as I could, and obviously, some watermelons. 🍉 I would have rather used a more pleasant background, but thought an image of the destruction of Khan Yunis would be more impactful. 💔

Anyway, free Palestine until it's backwards and viva la resistance!

Palais Albert Rothschild

Hi guys!!

I'm sharing the Palais Rothchild from Vienna.

House History: The Palais Albert Rothschild was a palatial residence in Vienna, Austria. It was one of five Palais Rothschild in the city that were owned by members of the Rothschild banking family of Austria, a branch of the international Rothschild family. It was located at Heugasse 26, Vienna. Commissioned by Baron Albert von Rothschild, it was designed and built by the French architect Gabriel-Hippolyte Destailleur between 1876 and 1884, and demolished in 1954.

Family History: After the annexation of Austria by Nazi Germany in 1938, the Rothschild family was forced to flee and went into exile in England. Almost immediately, the Nazis turned their attention to the Rothschild art collections, which were the largest and most valuable Jewish-owned art collections in Austria. The treasures of Baron Louis von Rothschild, composed of paintings, statues, furniture, books, armour and coins, were all seized and removed from his house at Theresianumgasse, prior to the Gestapo commandeering the building as its Vienna headquarters. Baron Albert von Rothschild was forced to sign a document giving his consent to the art collection's confiscation, plus the appropriation of all Rothschild assets in Austria by the German government, in exchange for his brother's release from Dachau concentration camp and safe passage for them both out of Austria.

Demolition: In 1954, the palace was torn down. Any items of value that were still left, such as chandeliers, woodwork and fireplaces, were sold off to the Dorotheum auction house at a minimal price, well below their actual value. The stairs and pillars of marble were sold to an Italian; the rest of the stone-work was simply destroyed, and the ornate iron fence and window grillwork were sold for scrap. The richly gilded stucco was ripped down: efforts to reclaim the gold-leaf proved uneconomic.

You will find several rooms to decorate. The most amazing part of this house is de stairs hall, which turns out pretty well :)

I did finish exteriors, but interiors are for you to decorate on your own taste. I just completed some rooms to give you an idea.

This house fits a 64x64 lot. It has many rooms, a set for private apartments, a gilded ballroom, a service sector and a gree house.

You will need the usual CC I use: all of Felixandre, Tha Jim, SYB, Regal Sims, etc.

The Wertheimer Portraits

The Wertheimer portraits are a series of twelve portrait paintings made by John Singer Sargent of and for the British art dealer Asher Wertheimer and his family. The series amounts to Sargent's largest private commission.

The family became close friends of the artist John Singer Sargent. He often dined at their home at 8 Connaught Place, where the dining room (sometimes described as "Sargent's mess" ) was decorated with eight of the family portraits. Mr and Mrs Wertheimer commissioned Singer Sargent to paint two portraits to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in 1898, and ten more commissions followed in the next decade. Most of the portraits hang in the Tate Museum in London, after Wertheimer's death in 1918. The donation was an scandal, as some antisemitic comments emerged, such as that of the historian Sir Charles Oman: "these clever, but extremely repulsive, pictures should be placed in a special chamber of horrors".

The bequest and wish for the portraits to be displayed together was seen as a distasteful display of wealth with opponents claiming it was Jewish excess and asking “Is there any other gallery that has been given so many paintings?

Since the paintings would hang among royalty, clergy and historical figures, to have a room dedicated to one family deemed outside the British establishment was so controversial that it was debated in Parliament.

Nowadays, the portraits are regarded as masterpieces, and most of the antisemitic comments remained in the past, but some critics have thought that the paintings "exudes caricature-like features and projected racial stereotypes onto the sitters" although the family was perfectly happy with them (of course this wouldn't have been issue if the family belonged to catholicism or other western-predominant religion)

Lindsey Bergman - A 2001 Lookbook

First up in my lookbooks for Jewish American characters is someone from our May decade of the month, the 2000s. I've shared more of her story when I posted the meet outfit (linked below).

Lindsey's childhood aspiration is Creative Genius (from Growing Together) and she has the Dog Lover trait. As she grows up, I would give her the Friend of the Animals aspiration with the Creative and Good traits.

The hardest outfit to recreate ended up being the pajamas. In the book she's wearing a short sleeve shirt with matching shorts or pants, but I couldn't find matching purples with a star pattern.

Meet Outfit: Top, skirt, and tights.

Pet Parade Outfit: Overalls, shoes.

Homework Outfit: Top, Joggers, and socks.

Pajamas: All EA.

So I had an energy drink which even tho it was non-alcoholic, energy drinks turn me into the equivalent of the drunk girl in the bathroom loudly complimenting you and being aggressively nice and supportive so like, just so you know, I made a fat gay trans man in the sims bc of you and this blog and I don’t have any Jewish custom content (cc) (I am not Jewish so I don’t know which cc would be appropriate for a gentile to have as I am only somewhat familiar with Jewish culture and not enough to know what’s appropriation and what’s open) but I headcanon them as Jewish bc I think ur super rad? And Like it’s so cool that you’re a fat Jewish gay trans man and that you love being that because ur rad and I hope ur life n day is good and have some slutty shirts u like or smth.

Anyways I have a cat named monster and he likes to lick pajama pants. Not because of food that maybe fell, just. Pants. As they are. And he also likes to bite noses in the morning and attack you in the shower and bite your ankles for no reason. He’s a black cat and he’s the baby of the family. He also likes to disconnect the wifi or any wires ever and treats everything like an obstacle course and will disrespect his surroundings. He also yells instead of meows and he once fell in the toilet as a month old kitten and we had to lather him in bacon fat to kill the fleas bc we didn’t have coconut oil and he was too young for flea shampoo.

this is perhaps my favorite anon i’ve gotten so far this year.

hey saruin! just curious and i want to know your opinion since i'm quite new to the sims community and its cc/mod paywall stuff, is it alright for simmers to put sim dumps behind paywall too? probably for only a month

Nope, absolutely not.

A general idea of how I feel about paywalls:

1-2 weeks early access (3 weeks at the most but that's pushing it)

sim dumps or builds should never be paywalled

Content with meshes or imagery you did not create yourself should never be paywalled (ie tattoos, recolors, skinblends, etc, I don't care if you 'payed for the images')

'only a month' is never a statement that should be in reference to content that's supposed to be free and shared with the community, no matter what these Patreon, adfly and other monetized site creators want to say

Edit: I meant to add but I forgot as always: holiday stuff or content catered towards a certain marginalized group or cultural ideology should never be paywalled (ie pride stuff, Jewish, Hindu, Muslim etc content)

No CC San Sequoia Jewish Family

I made this family to celebrate the new Jewish recipes that was added to the game in the last sdx. And because I needed a family to occupy a build I made in San Sequoia. They use only base game + growing together.

Levine and Aviella have a distant relationship. They thought that bringing a new bundle of joy home would fix their relationship but it had no positive effect. In fact, Aviella has also grown distant with her son and it has been affecting her relationship with Levine who is close to their son. With such bad compatability, it's a mystery how they got along in the past.

Disclaimer: These sims have been uploaded to the gallery with no cc whatsoever but in the screenshots shown above they do have on a default cc skin which I was too lazy to take out. I hope it doesn't bother anyone but if it does let me know and I'll try taking out the skin next time.

CONVERSION UPDATE ?!

Long time no see!!! So I think in my last update I said I was considering enrolling in college and guess what? I did! It's just community college and I'm doing it part time and I'm not entirely sure what subject I want to focus on, but I'm a few weeks into it and so far it's been going well. I also got a job which is great because I've needed one for awhile lol. Also, re: sims 4 jewish cc, I never was able to get sims4studio to work (I consulted many forums) so I don't think that's happening anytime soon sorry!!

But anyways, what everyone is here for: conversion updates! I've started studying with a partner, she's older than me and is marrying into a Jewish family so she's a little more knowledgeable about certain things compared to me, but it's still cool to have a partner and she’s really nice! I think the first time we met together with the rabbi we were discussing the Akedah and he asked us why we thought G-d would command Abraham to do something like that, and I had just finished my first watch of Good Omens season 2 so I pulled out some references to the Book of Job and he seemed very impressed with me LMAO.

But more importantly: I've finally been to services! My first service was Rosh Hashanah so, to quote my rabbi, I was kind of thrown into the deep end LOL. I was a little anxious (although less than I thought I would be) and it was kind of awkward when everyone but me kissed the Torah (and of course everyone was watching bc I guess you face the Torah when it’s carried around the room? I learn new things everyday!), but I really enjoyed it!! I was worried I was going to get bored or something (it was a 3 hour long service) but I ended up adulting for my mom who kept asking when we could go home lol. I also went to the Kol Nidrei service which was nice, there were way more people!! I also got to take home a tzedakah box (except it only takes coins and this is the 21st century so I never have coins LOL). OH and last week I got to light Shabbat candles for the first time!!!! But not really, it was Thursday and we were just practicing (and I butchered the Hebrew). BUT I did ask the rabbi and he said I could start lighting Shabbat candles myself!!!! I'm genuinely so happy and excited about it.

The synagogue also has services for Sukkot and their own sukkah which I wanted to go to but the first one was a potluck (I hate cooking) and I almost went to the second one because they had pizza but then I found out that we had to pay for an entire pizza ourselves ?!?! I don't have money for that LOL. (Okay that sounds a little mean lol, I was just expecting it to be like everyone chips in $5-10 and there are enough pizzas ordered for everyone to get 1-2 slices, not $14 for your very own pizza!!)

I've been working Friday nights a lot but I finally worked up the courage to talk to my manager so after this week I'll be free on Shabbat evenings and hopefully go to Shabbat services (or just just spend it at home LIGHTING MY OWN SHABBAT CANDLES BC THATS SOMETHING I CAN DO NOW?!?!?!)! Sorry if this post is a little all over the place or there's too many exclamation marks, I'm genuinely just so excited. It really feels like studying is starting to ramp up, although that probably has something to do with all the High Holidays lol. Anyways, I think that's it!
