Like my Iron Frame bed from last week but wish I'd made it in more colors? Well, I did too. So I did.
The Iron Frame: Knock Around matches as best as possible the Knock Around Set from last month. That's why there are 86 swatches, with each of the 43 colors of the Knock Around Set matched with the black and white frame options.
Tumblr media
The Iron Frame: Plaids, Bears, and Anchors is a little more modern, with a few different swatches of each type. They sprung from a need for slightly more masculine versions and then expanded from there. Then I found the bears. I really liked the bears. I made several colors of bears. ♥ There are 24 total swatches, half with black frames, and half with white.

Both variations require Cottage Living.

Metal bedframes began appearing in Britain in the early 19th century and were adopted by health conscious Victorians who appreciated how easy they were to clean. I suspect they also appreciated the comparative ventilation of the metal bars as compared to the heavily-curtained four posters of yore, given these were the same people who slept with windows open all year round to keep rooms from running out of clean air.
EA actually made a fairly good attempt at giving us a Victorian/Edwardian bed frame with the Cottage Living bed... they just made the casters a little big and the bedding ugly. I personally find EA's version a bit fussy, so I sought to simplify the whole thing, abandoning the curves and brass beads for cleaner lines, with just the flourishes at the head of the bed. I also removed the casters... so sorry to those needing to move the bed. This makes it a little less period friendly, but your sims will appreciate the increased stability. On the other hand, many of these casters were removed from old Victorian frames in the 1980s, so this bed fits well for a modern Sim who likes their antiques, or simply the look. Indeed, there are still companies selling similar beds today, so this style is truly versatile through the ages.
Requires Cottage Living. Comes in 30 swatches, half with a white frame, half with a black frame.

Vintage Posters are here!
I have an Edwardian build I've been working on recently, with live-in servants in the attic. I wanted them to have something to look at besides bare walls and I figured some old advertisements might be appropriate.
As such, I've trolled through old posters to make two packages, one with posters from 1890-1899 and the other with posters from 1900-1909. Some of these are travel-related, others are advertisements for products, and there's even a poster for the Yiddish theater.
I've priced these at 10 simoleons so that they're affordable for vintage sims, but for modern sims, a more realistic price is 1k, or even 2k, as some original posters cost $2000 if you want your own piece of advertising history.

You're so very welcome! ♥ I've got a few more things to match coming soon-- I hope you'll like them as well!

I've always liked the Knock Around Couch from Cottage Living, as its classic Chesterfield look suits so many decors (actually, it's even more historically useful than I realized; early versions date back to the mid 1700s, though it wasn't as comfortable before the Victorians got their hands on it). Unfortunately, EA didn't bother to make anything to match it. So I made a matching loveseat. And then I decided that I wanted extra colors, so I made a recolor of the original, so that the extra colors in the loveseat would have matches in the couch. And then I was already drafting this post when I realized that a matching chair would also help. So I added a chair!
Knock Around Couch Recolors comes in 31 swatches and requires Cottage Living. Download from SimFileShare here.

Want something to coordinate with your pretty new comfort items? Try the Old Timey Lamp (on the wall in the photo above), or look at @anachrosims Gorgeous Georgians set, as many Knock Around swatches were designed to coordinate with those items.

I used the Smaller Asymmetry mesh for these Hogwarts Legacy paintings that are unfinished (as they're being 'painted' by artists in the game). I particularly like the one of Hogwarts.

Magical Banners: Claim one for your Spellcasters or Medieval Sims now! These eight different banners are the perfect adornment for your castle, giving your Sims a magical beast to claim as the symbol of their family.
These are the latest in my series of Hogwarts Legacy textures into Sims items. For this week, I altered an EA mesh and reconstructed its texture to fit the first half of the banners, then altered the second half of the textures to fit the mesh. I particularly like the Unicorn one, though it was the one that I had to make the most alterations to in the end.
Base Game Compatible. Comes in 8 swatches.

Magic doesn't always go right, as seen in this Hogwarts Legacy painting I found here. Sometimes people need to be reminded of this, whether it be in a Transfiguration classroom to serve as a warning, or in a Healer's office to show off their ability to fix the stupidity of their patients.

Hello all!
I'm not touching my game for a little while until Sims4Studio and various modders have had a chance to update to deal with the chaos unleashed by this patch. I still have things scheduled to come out, but I won't be able to fix anything new.
That being said if you notice anything of mine that broke with this patch (it's possible that some custom tunings might not work for everyone, and that's an issue that I'll find hard to check myself), let me know and I'll add it to a list to be fixed as soon as I learn how.
As for my previous issues, I've updated most of the items which needed revised speculars. I think there's a few more left to do, but I still have some tweaks to make on those once I can use S4S again.
Happy Simming!

Sometimes your sims need light that isn't dependent on electricity. These old-timey lamps run on oil instead.
I frankenmeshed this particular project from four different EA objects (one of them just for the knob) and then had to do it again to straighten out the mesh. Still, I'm quite pleased with how it came out. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get the reflector on the back to work, and I thought it important to include one.
Much like the close stools I made last year, this particular project is based on actual historical lights and lighting principles.
Tumblr media
Although oil-fueled lights are ancient in their use, this particular conception is in line with Georgian-Victorian lights. In England, oil lights began to replace candles for those of means during the later part of the eighteenth century. Like the glass chimneys, the metal of the lamp and reflectors on the back help amplify the light and reflect it about the room. These sorts of design choices were necessary before the brighter gas lights slowly began making their way into homes beginning in the 1840s. Unfortunately oil lamps produced soot, which showed up easily on the light shades of Georgian interiors, hence the Victorian preference for darker wallpapers.
Originally I was just going to do natural metal colors, and then I decided that it would be fun to have a bunch of colorful versions as well. So some swatches are more historical than others.
Tumblr media
This particular lamp also has a bit of a quirk that I chose not to resolve because I was amused by it. Although it's meant as a wall lamp, it can fit in slots on tables. So if you want it to just sit around because someone was too lazy to install it properly, or if you want it to be sitting around waiting to be 'fixed', that can be done. It probably wouldn't actually balance like that... but it's fine.
Base Game Compatible and works Off the Grid. Comes in 35 swatches, some of which are in compatible shades to @anachrosims Gorgeous Georgians set.

The Grieving Fairy is a conversion from TS3 using TSRW and S4S.
This weeping fairy is probably a perfect fit for a mystical garden, or maybe as a headstone in a graveyard. As shown above it comes in three colors.

Hello!
Is this yet another update of this? Yes, yes it is.
I actually redid the file entirely, so it's now base game compatible. I fixed the normal map and the specular. I also made a number of tweaks to the mesh; there's now proper shadows, a reduced polycount and no more overlapping faces. In addition there are three new swatches, which have a more maxis-match wood texture to them.
Delete your old one and download the new one from SimFileShare here.

Haven't I already seen this you ask?
Yes, but now it has slots!
There are now three medium, one large, and five small slots atop the bookshelf. Because sometimes you just need somewhere to stick a nutcracker.
Converted from TS3 with TSRW and S4S.

Meet my first (almost) entirely original project, The Ultimate Scroll Set!
I am so incredibly pleased with myself for this. While it may be very basic, I'm still a relative beginner when it comes to Blender and GIMP and to put together completely new meshes, sort out the UV maps, and create the texture files was a big step forward.
There are three separate deco objects in a merged file:
Scrolls
An Unrolled Scroll
Stack of Scrolls.
Each has multiple swatches in a variety of colors. Some swatches are inspired by and based on the manga/anime Naruto, including the seals and toad scroll contents which were borrowed directly.
The Merged Package can be downloaded from SimFileShare here.
