“Come here. Let me fix it.”
From The 100 Ways to Say I Love You: 4. "Come Here. Let me fix it." So when I started this @this-is-bwr, and showed you the start of the handwritten bits, this was going to be a short piece. My first solo published OG piece, just for you.
But because brevity is the soul of wit and I am witless, have just shy of 3K of Buckley sibling/Buddie/Han-Buckley-Diaz family feels. I love you so much, my friend.
Read on AO3 “Come here,” Maddie insists, her hands reaching out. “Let me fix it.”
Buck bats at his sister’s insistent hands as she attempts to turn him away from the mirror. “Maddie, I’ve got it.”
In fact, he’s told Maddie the entire time he’s been tying his bowtie that he has it. Buck is pretty sure if Maddie would give him a little space and just let him be, it would already be tied. Instead, she’s insisted on hovering just over his shoulder, making faces and huffing. It’s already tied. Mostly.
“The bowtie would like to disagree,” Maddie points out.
Buck sighs and glares at her in the mirror. He gestures at his phone set up on the bureau under the mirror. “I have a YouTube video. Let me do this.”
There’s something about preparing for his wedding—a day he wasn’t sure he would ever want, and then once he knew he wanted it, wasn’t sure it would ever be in the cards. Evan Buckley was never the kind of person that people choose to love for the rest of their lives, aside for the woman in a deep plum dress frowning at him in the mirror.
Buck wants to do this for himself, though. He knows it’s stupid, but he wants to prove that Evan Buckley is adult enough for another human being—the best human being—to put their life in his hands, forever.
For now, though, the tie is tied to all the things Buck is certain will come up in this life they’re building. Eddie and Chris became the center of his world years ago, before he even really knew it was happening, and he just wants to be the best version of himself for them.
“I can’t believe you’re going to trust a YouTube video over your own sister.”
“I said I got it!”
Maddie’s arms cross over her chest, and Buck does not feel like a grown-up. Instead, he feels like he’s eight and Maddie’s seventeen and she’s making sure he’s dressed appropriately for school. Her face has the same expression when she would ask if he was wearing what he was wearing. The Batman cape was one time.
“Well, currently, it’s crooked and lopsided.”
“Those words mean the same thing,” Buck shoots back, finally turning.
Maddie steps up and uses a finger to point. “One side is higher than the other—crooked, and the left side is bigger than the right—lopsided.”
“Chim!” Buck and Maddie yell in unison.
“Tell my sister—”
“Explain to Buck—”
“I’ve got this,” Buck finishes emphatically.
“That he looks like a mess.”
“Thanks, Maddie,” Buck shoots at her.
Chim doesn’t look up from where he is carefully picking at the shiny patent leather straps of Jee-Yun’s shoes while Jee sits happily on the couch, playing with the fluff of her dress. Her feet, covered in tights, bounce up and down against the cushions. Buck could have sworn the shoes were on her feet a moment ago.
“Whatever you say, honey,” Chim answers, absently.
“You didn’t even look!” The Buckley siblings insist in tandem. Not that Maddie has any right to be upset. Chim took her side without even looking.
Buck sticks his tongue out at his sister and earns an elbow in the ribs in response.
Chim still doesn’t look up, focused on the shoes. He pinches the stuck part of the strap in his fingers and shakes. “I don’t understand how these are so hard to get on and yet she keeps taking them off in under five minutes.”
“Howie,” Maddie says sharply.
Chim finally looks up at them. Maddie is furiously pointing at Buck’s neck and Buck is trying to bat her hand back. If Buck is honest, Chim looks tired of them both already and they haven’t even really started the whole wedding thing, yet.
Chim rolls his eyes, sighs, and gestures with the shoe. “For God’s sake, Buck, it’s not the end of the world if you don’t tie your own tie. Let Maddie mother you a little bit.”
Maddie’s hands seem to drop at that and Buck glances over at his sister. There’s something kind of sad on her face, and Buck can hear Chim remind him You were loved! She loved you! He honestly hadn’t thought of why Maddie might want to tie his bowtie other than because she didn’t think he was capable of it.
Chim, who managed to get the shoes unbuckled at some point, turns away from them and back to Jee-Yun. “Now, Jee, let Appa put your shoes on and we’ll set a timer for when you can take them off.”
Buck frowns, “Is that—”
“Howie?” Maddie tries.
“Shhh—I got this,” Chim says, smiling at Jee. “What do you say?”
Before either Buck or Maddie can stop him, the door to the hotel suite opens and the familiar clicking of Chris’s crutches are clear as day. Buck is instantly on alert, because Chris is supposed to be getting ready with Eddie. Getting ready separately was one superstition that apparently even Eddie was willing to buy into, and Buck definitely didn’t want anything to go wrong. Chris showing up after they’d said goodbye last night seems to be a bad omen.
“Oh, thank God,” Chris sighs, moving into the room. Buck does a quick once over, and Chris doesn’t seem to be particularly upset or worried. His suit jacket is unbuttoned and his tie is hanging around his neck. He’s so lanky now that he’s almost what would be considered an adult in some cultures. Buck loves him so much, it hurts. Sometimes, he misses the little boy he fell in love with, but watching who Chris is becoming is just as cool.
“Hey, buddy, what brings you in here?”
Chris shoots him a look like he’s maybe a little stupid, a look that is all too common on his teenage face. “I can’t get this stupid tie to tie and Hen was bothering dad about his, so I figured I’d come here. Maddie is probably really good at these.”
“Not me?” Buck asks, a small ache in his chest that Chris didn’t come to have him solve this problem.
Chris tilts his head before observing, “Yours is crooked.” Chris’s eyes narrow behind his glasses. “And lopsided.”
“Ha!” Maddie crows, triumphantly, elbowing Buck again for good measure. “Come have a seat, Chris, and we’ll fix you right up.”
“Traitor,” Buck mutters more to himself than either of the members of his family.
Maddie gets Chris set up on the couch and it reminds him a whole hell of a lot of growing up with Maddie fussing over him. Let Maddie mother you a little circles in his head again as she lightly teases Chris. The words don’t really sink in as he watches them together, his sister and the boy who was his son long before they ever talked about making it official. She’s smoothing out the tie and carefully folding it while chattering and Buck doesn’t need to hear the words to know it’s full of love.
“See! Timer set!” Chim says cheerfully to Jee from the other side of the couch. “Two hours!”
Buck turns and his niece is in Chim’s arms and he wishes that he would have caved a little and let them all get together in the same room. Buck has spent his entire life trying to pull together his family, hold them close. What that means has shifted over the years, and he’s accepted that his parents may never be what he wants them to be. Still, with nearly his entire heart in this hotel room, Buck can’t help but wish everyone was inside.
His fingers are itching to at least text Eddie, but something Chris said when he came in catches Buck’s attention. He tilts his head and considers, his lips pursing slightly as he watches Maddie finish up Chris’s tie.
“You said your dad also can’t tie his tie?” Buck asks, trying to remain casual.
“No. He and Hen were gonna call Karen,” Chris confirms, rolling his eyes, “and that’ll take too long.”
Buck can imagine both Eddie and Hen fussing over Eddie’s tie. His heart hurts, in a good way, that Buck isn’t the only one who cannot figure this stupid thing out.
“Did you tell your dad you left?”
“No.”
“Chris.”
“Where else would I go?” Chris argues back, waving a crutch for emphasis.
Chris has a point, but Buck can already see Eddie halfway to some catastrophe where Chris is concerned. He goes to grab his phone out of his pocket, but his phone isn’t there. Fuck. Buck tries to retrace himself and where he might have left it when Albert swings into the room.
He’s got a tray of coffee and a large take-out bag and Buck vaguely remembers Maddie asking him what he wanted to eat. Buck has no idea what he said. Or where his phone is.
“Got lunch,” Albert says, in lieu of a greeting. He stops for a second and takes Buck in. “Hey, your tie is crooked.”
“Thanks,” Buck says, sarcastically. “Yours…isn’t.”
Albert cheerfully heads over to the table and puts down the take-out. “Yeah. Maddie tied it an hour ago.”
Of course she did, Buck thinks to himself. Everyone else is willing to let Maddie do it. He’s not going to be a shitty husband if he doesn’t figure out how to tie his own tie. Buck supposes he’ll have to bring this one up to Dr. Copland during his next session. It’s not a personal failing. And relying on Maddie doesn’t make him that stubborn, lost kid who used to do things just to be noticed.
Jee screams and throws herself at Albert who swings her around. Her shoes are suspiciously missing again, and Buck can’t help but grin. The Buckley is strong in her.
Chim is groaning, pocketing the lost tiny shoes. “That’s now how the timer works, Jee—”
He’s cut off by his phone ringing and Buck remembers he has no idea where his is. “Hey Eddie—yeah—no,” Chim answers quickly, making Buck’s heart rise into his throat.
Why did Buck ever think he needed to convince Eddie “I don’t believe in Jinxes” Diaz into believing in this one superstition? Buck wants both to find his phone and make sure there’s no missed messages from Eddie and take Chim’s phone and crawl through it to fix whatever is going on with Eddie.
Chim does a terrible job of covering the phone receiver and stage whispers, “Buck, Eddie doesn’t want me to tell you he lost Christopher.”
Before Buck can say anything, Chim’s rolling his eyes at whatever Eddie has just said on the other end of the line. “Jeez, Eddie, it’s a joke. He’s here. No, no we’ll come to you. Maybe you or Hen can sweet talk Jee into her shoes.”
“We’ll be back,” Chim says, pressing a quick kiss to Maddie’s lips. “Come on, kid. Can’t worry your dad like that.”
As Chris gets up, Chim puts a hand on Albert’s shoulder to shove him and Jee out the door as well. “I just got—”
“Let’s go,” Chim insists, shuffling everyone out into the hallway.
Chim shoots Buck a look that he thinks he’s supposed to understand. Chim’s gaze slides to Maddie and Buck swallows.
“So, it has come to my attention that my tie is both crooked and lopsided,” Buck starts in lieu of anything else.
Maddie makes her way over to him with a soft smile. She reaches up and her fingers deftly undo his fourth attempt at the tie. You were loved. By her. She loved you circles in his head again, and Buck is once again reminded how very lucky he is to have her. Maddie has saved him more times than she’s saved himself. She’s the mom he always wanted their mom to be, and while she didn’t have to and shouldn’t have, Buck knows he can never really repay her.
Maddie frowns as she sets up the ends of his tie like she had with Christopher. “If neither of you know how to tie a tie, why the tuxes?” she asks.
“I know how to tie a regular tie. Well, Bobby usually ties my regular tie,” Buck amends, considering how Maddie is spearing him with a look.
Her fingers move quickly and he tracks back to her original question. Buck still sometimes worries that this life he’s building with Eddie is all a fantasy, a family of dreams that will crumble if Buck thinks on it for too long or inspects it too hard. He knows that’s a lie, though. What he and Eddie have is stronger and surer than any relationship he’s ever had in his life. That it shifted to something deeper, where Buck can wake up in bed and can’t quite believe he’s this lucky…he’s not sure he deserves it but he’s not giving it up.
And when Eddie agreed that he would spend the rest of his life with Buck, that they could publicly share the family they made, well, Buck had been over the moon.
“Well, when Eddie married Shannon it was kinda a quick courthouse deal and as I’m planning on only doing this once, we went for the big thing,” Buck explains.
Buck wants that. Wants the whole world to know that he and Eddie chose this, chose each other. That both of them are worthy of being chosen.
“I’m so proud of you, Evan.”
“Cause I convinced Eddie he maybe didn’t hate me?”
“No,” Maddie says, carefully pulling at the tie until it’s even. “For being brave enough to reach for a good thing when you see it. For waiting to get married until you found the right person.”
She smooths at his lapels and he hears what she’s saying without saying it. There’s a gulf of things he wishes he had understood earlier that lie between where they were the first time he asked her to leave Doug and this very moment. Still, Buck is pretty sure he’s never met anyone stronger than his big sister, and he’s so damn lucky to have her. Even when she and Eddie and Chim gang up on him because he’s the baby of the family and complain about the burden of being the oldest.
“Where’d you learn to tie a bowtie anyway?” Buck asks. “It’s not like Chim’s out here wearing bowties.”
Maddie stills, eyes going distant, and Buck realizes he tripped right into an old landmine. “Shit, Maddie.”
She presses her lips flat together before blowing out a breath. She smiles and Buck hates that he’s put tears in her eyes. “Not everything that came from my marriage was a bad thing, Evan. For example, knowing how to tie a bowtie has let me have this moment with you. Besides, now I have Howie and Jee and live here in the same city as my amazing little brother.”
“Maddie.”
“Look,” Maddie says, reaching up to brush at his hair, “Whatever you’re worried about, don’t be. I mean, be worried, life sucks sometimes, but Evan, you are more capable than anyone I know.”
He’s not even sure how she knows he was worried. Buck barely figured out that he’d already associated tying his tie with how successful he was going to be as a husband. “Maddie.”
“Today is gonna be a great day.”
“I hope so.”
Maddie leans up and presses a kiss to his cheek. “I know so.”
Half an hour later, Buck is bouncing on the balls of his feet in the garden outside. Jee took off her shoes about three more times and pulled out Albert’s tie, which was pretty hilarious. Maddie and Chim had left him here, at the edge of the garden and he’s gonna see Eddie for the first time since last night, when Buck had to leave their house and go sleep in Maddie’s spare bedroom.
“Hey,” Eddie’s deep voice calls from behind him and Buck turns and when asked later he won’t remember the photographer taking any of the pictures they end up with. All he sees is Eddie standing in his tux, that brilliant smile plastered on his face. “Heard you were waiting for someone.”
“Smartass,” Buck chokes out over the lump forming in his throat.
And Eddie’s walking towards him, pulling slightly at what is a vaguely crooked bowtie. “How’d you get your tie so straight?”
“Come here. Let me fix it.”

A chaste kiss given to each other because they are in mixed company.
Sometimes, Buck couldn’t quite believe this was his life. He was surrounded by family - his chosen family, the people who had been by his side through the best, and worst moments of his life, and had loved him, all the same. His sister was a central part of his life, in ways Buck of a few years ago could have never imagined, and, well - he had Eddie.
Falling in love with Eddie had been slow, and careful, and the exact opposite of what Buck had believed great love stories should be - no, falling in love with Eddie had been steadying, and suring, and brought certainty and safety and most of all, love. Buck knew he would wake up to Eddie every morning for the rest of their lives, and the new ring that sat on his finger and the marriage license that was filed away in their safe only proved that further.
Life was - well, perfect.
“What are you thinking about?” Eddie nudged, his husband (husband, Buck was never going to get used to that one) giving him a soft smile. They were gathered in Athena and Bobby’s backyard for a barbecue - a multitude of excuses, including (but not limited to) the fact Buck and Eddie had been married for a month, May had passed all her exams, Chimney had passed his Lieutenant’s exam, and just because.
“How happy I am,” Buck admitted with a hum, leaning in to kiss Eddie softly. The kiss only lingered for a couple of seconds - they were with their family, after all, and it wasn’t the time or place to make-out, but still, a tiny, demanding shout of ‘no’ drew Buck’s attention.
Jee-Yun Buckley-Han was two years old, and an absolute force of nature - and she was definitely going through a phase where she wasn’t happy to have to share Buck with anyone, least of all Buck’s own husband. It was endearing, really - and Buck would take it, knowing one day Jee would be too big for him to smoother with cuddles.
“Excuse me, Miss Jee?” Eddie said teasingly. “What was that?”
“No!” Jee-Yun repeated firmly, crossing her tiny arms across her chest. “Gross. No. Buck, play with me.”
Buck barely managed to swallow his laughter at Jee-Yun’s words, Maddie looking positively mortified - Chimney, on the other hand, couldn’t stop laughing. “Hey, sweetheart,” he greeted, scooping her up easily, settling Jee-Yun in his lap. “If you wanted to hang, you just had to say.”
Jee-Yun burrowed into Buck’s chest, nodding. “Buck,” she hummed, and God, if Buck’s heart didn’t melt inside of his chest every single time he heard his niece say his name. He wasn’t sure he’d ever be able to handle it.
“Jee, it’s not nice not to share,” Maddie warned her daughter. “I’m sure Eddie would like to play with you too.”
Jee-Yun eyed Eddie up in the most hilariously suspicious way. “Yes?” she directed at him, offering Eddie her doll.
“Thank you, Jee,” Eddie hummed softly. “Can I play, too, then?”
Jee-Yun looked thoughtful for a second. “Maybe.”
Eddie laughed, winking at Buck before lowering his voice. “Can I play if I sneak you some ice-cream?” he said conspiratorially, Jee-Yun nodding enthusiastically, completely won over now. She practically scrambled out of Buck’s arms and into Eddie’s, Eddie swinging her onto his hip with a practised ease, heading for the kitchen.
Buck’s brain was flooded with thoughts of babies with Eddie’s eyes as a house full of noise and siblings for Christopher - but he filed the thoughts away for later, focusing instead on the way Jee-Yun was babbling happily in Eddie’s arms, on how Christopher looked up from the game he was playing with Harry and smiled, bright and wide, at Buck, focused on how absolutely perfect his life was, there and then.
Focused on how he couldn’t quite believe all this was his - but how grateful he was that this was the life he’d made for himself, all the same.

Madney bringing baby Jee to the firehouse for the first time and her fav is Bobby which annoys her uncles (he’s just so chill, and has a soothing voice, babies defs love him)
So this is definitely a little different than what you were probably wanting, but The Words Just Happened Like That
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Chimney could barely contain his excitement. He had thought at first that eventually Jee-Yun would stop being the most exciting thing ever – after all when your new baby is almost a year old, she’s not really “new” anymore. But every single day brought more excitement and more joy than he ever could have imagined.
And today was especially exciting.
Maddie had finally returned from her in-patient treatment for her PPD last week, happy and glowing and wanting to share Jee with the entire world. And that world definitely included finally introducing her to the 118.
“Chim, you know you’re practically vibrating over there, right?” Hen said, looking up from her book with an arch expression.
Chimney laughed. “Why shouldn’t I be? You all finally get to see what I mean when I keep telling you those pictures don’t do her justice!”
“Hey, I’ve backed you up on that” Buck said, grinning at him upside down from over the arm of one of the couches. “She’s the best!”
Chimney grinned again, barely able to stop himself from doing an excited little hop. “Yeah,” he agreed. “She is!”

Bobby watched his team chat happily as he chopped vegetables, something deep in his heart seeming to twist inside of him. He remembered all-too-well his own joy and excitement all those years ago when he had shown his own firstborn off for the first time. He swallowed, pushing down the bittersweet memory and focusing on his cooking.
He hadn’t realized how hard this would be for him, but right now he wanted to be anywhere but here – at the very least so that he wouldn’t ruin Chimney’s excitement.
“We’re here!” Maddie called from downstairs, and in spite of his aching heart, he couldn’t help but laugh as Chimney practically flew past him, Buck and Albert hot at his heels.
“You going with them?” he asked, turning to Hen and Eddie.
“They’re just coming right back up,” Hen said, grinning. “I’m just avoiding the argument over who gets to carry her up here!”
“Exactly!” Eddie agreed.
Bobby smiled softly, turning away again, trying to ignore the ache in his heart. This was good, in spite of the memories he didn’t want to think about right now.
“Drumroll please!” Buck yelled from the stairs.
Bobby grinned, a real one this time, and began banging against the counter with a wooden spoon.
“Introducing,” Buck exclaimed, as he and Albert led the way up the steps. “The one, the only, the incomprehensibly adorable…” he and Albert stepped to the side with a flourish, revealing Chimney holding Jee-Yun in his arms, Maddie just beside him.
“Jee-Yun Buckley Han!” Albert finished, his grin rivaling Buck’s.
“Hooray!” Eddie shouted, as he and Hen clapped vigorously.
Bobby swallowed down the lump in his throat as he got caught up in the excitement of the moment. Maddie was looking at Jee as if she was the most beautiful thing in the world, and Chimney was positively glowing. Jee, for her part, was completely unimpressed with the excitement, content to chew on Chimney’s finger and ignore Hen and Eddie as they ran up, begging to hold her.
“No, no, no,” Chimney said, gently extricating his finger from Jee-Yun’s mouth. “Captain’s privilege, he gets to hold her before you yahoos!”
“Oh, no Chim,” Bobby said, his arms suddenly aching to hold the little girl. “Let them have a turn first.”
“Sorry, Bobby,” Maddie said, taking Jee away from Chim and heading over to him, her smile radiant. “Chim and I discussed the order at home, and you don’t get to rearrange it.”
The rest of the team let out a series of mock groans and Hen turned to Chim with an annoyed “Chimney…” before they all gathered together around the counter; all eyes on Jee-Yun.
Bobby nodded, suddenly not able to talk past the lump in his throat as Maddie handed Jee to him. She gave him an understanding look and stepped back, pulling a camera out of her bag. “Smile for Momma!” she told Jee, snapping a picture.
Everybody laughed as, instead of giving the instructed smile, Jee gave Maddie a dirty look and turned away from the camera.
“She’s worse about getting her picture taken than I was as a baby,” Maddie laughed, tickling Jee under her chin.
Jee giggled before looking up at Bobby, her dark eyes pensive.
“Hello, there,” Bobby greeted, looking down at the beautiful little girl in his arms. “My name is Bobby,” he told her. “I’m a friend of your parents.”
Jee grinned and reached up, grabbing his cheek with one little hand while patting his chest with the other.
“She likes you,” Maddie laughed.
“Ugoboo,” Jee agreed, leaning her head against Bobby’s shoulder.
Tears sprang to Bobby’s eyes as he rubbed her back gently. His heart hurt, but it was a good kind of hurt this time.
“Hey, no fair!” Buck said with a mock pout, leaning over the counter. It took her at least an hour before she decided she liked me!
“You don’t get to complain about that! She didn’t decide she liked me for three hours! And I lived with them for a while!” Albert groused back, still grinning at the scene in front of him.
“Bobby’s special, guys,” Hen said, her arm wrapped affectionately around Chimney. “We all knew it, and Jee-Yun has just confirmed it.”
Bobby laughed softly through his tears as he glanced around at his entire pseudo-family. “Thank you,” he said softly, looking back down at Jee. “I appreciate the vote of confidence.”

Not me forgetting almost forgetting that it’s Madney Week 🤦🏾‍♀️.. Will be providing the hot, fresh content all week, so get ready! Fandom: 9-1-1 Ship: Madney Rating: T Word Count: 1213 Summary:  It was, almost, surreal. It was exhilarating. It was a little scary. But she could honestly say she’d never been happier.
Day 1: “May I have this dance?” + fluff
Can also be read here
Maddie leaned against the cherrywood door, pushing it closed with her back. With all the hustle and bustle of the day, she was thankful for the little bit of silence being alone offered her. It took several tries, but she was able to get the zipper on her dress and pull it down. She made careful work of stepping out of it, not to damage any of the rhinestone embellishments or lace. Picking up her dress, she admired it once more, loving the gorgeous, blush colored material just as much as she did when she picked it out. It served it’s purpose and she was a little sad that this would probably be the last time that she’d ever wear it.
She hung it on the hook attached to the wall and grabbed the dress next to it. The same color and plainer, only having lace, but much lighter weight, something easier to maneuver in. She on slipped the dress easily. Catching a glimpse of herself in the full length mirror and couldn’t wait for Chimney to see her.
Sitting down at the vanity, she cleaned up her smudged makeup with a bit. Since the pictures had already been taken, she didn’t care it wasn’t perfect anymore. She made quick work of her veil and took several pins out her bun, giving her head shake, allowing her hair to fall in soft curls over her shoulders. Once she was satisfied with how she looked, she gave herself a final look in the full length mirror.  It was still weird seeing herself like this, in more make up than she’d worn in so long, in the type of dresses she, honestly, didn’t see herself ever wearing again. It was, almost, surreal. It was exhilarating. It was a little scary. But she could honestly say she’d never been happier.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock at her door. Not waiting for her to respond, the door opened.
“Hey, Mads, you decent?” She heard Buck’s voice ask.
She rolled her eyes, not looking away from the mirror. “Yes, Buck.” In the reflection of the mirror she saw her brother walk in holding her toddler. He put Jee-Yun down and she ran to her, all puffy dress and flower crown, her little flower girl. Maddie picked up swinging her around a little.
“We just came to check on you. Chim said you guys separated after the pictures were taken. I just wanted to make sure that you hadn’t run off or changed your mind,” he joked.
“Never,” slid across her lips, easily, “your uncle is silly isn’t he, Jee?”
“Hey, um, heads up,” Buck’s more serious tone caused Maddie to turn her attention away from Jee-Yun, to him, “Mom and dad keep calling. I haven’t answered and I’ve turned my phone off now. I didn’t know if they were blowing you up, too.”
Maddie sighed deeply, “I haven’t had my phone on since this morning. Everyone I want to talk is here today,” Buck’s self satisfied smirk was amusing. She turned her attention back to her two year old, “they know why they aren’t here today. I told them as much yesterday. I guess they thought they’d hear something different from you. I might talk to them when I come back from my honeymoon.” There was a small part of her that disliked that her parents weren’t there. Realistically, she knew she was better off for it. She didn’t need them there. She had her baby brother, that’s all she needed.
She situated Jee-Yun to one arm and held out her pinky to Buck. “You’re here, that’s all I need.”
He linked his pinky with hers and stepped closer, kissing her on the forehead. “I’ll always be here.” Buck stepped back and smiled at her, “alright, let’s go before your husband thinks you’re a runaway bride.”
The three of them left the room and walked towards main area. As they rounded the corner they found Chimney standing just outside of the room leading to where their reception was being held. She blushed watching his eyes widen in appreciation as he looked at her. And she shared the same level appreciation. His suit was now sans jacket, leaving him in his deep gray vest and tie. The sleeves of his white dress shirt were rolled up to his elbows. He always looked amazing in a suit.
“Hi daddy,” Jee-Yun greeted before Maddie had the chance.
“Hi sweetheart,” Chimney told her with as much fondness as her held for her, but not looking away from Maddie.
Out of her peripheral vision, she saw Buck look back and forth between them. “I’m going to take this one and see about finding some food. Come on Jee,” Maddie handed her daughter to him. Buck put her on the ground and they both scurried away behind the double doors. As soon as her daughter and brother were out of sight. In the privacy of the alcoves, she grabbed her husband by his tie and pulled him toward her for a passionate kiss. His hands wrapped around her lower back and pulled her flush against him, as her arms snaked around his neck. They stayed like that until the need for air parted them.
“Mrs. Buckley-Han, pleasure to see you again.”
“The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Han.”
They stayed like that for a moment, taking up each other’s space, enjoying one of the few moments they’ve had to themselves this week. The ceremony had been gone through, vows said, drying ink of their marriage certificate certified it. They were now husband and wife.
“Ready?” Chimney said as he let her go and held out his hand to her.
She took his hand in silent answer. Together, they walked the first set of double doors and took the short trip down to the reception hall. As soon as they were spotted the entrance to the room it erupted in cheers and congratulations. The room was decorated in gold and pink accents. Decorations kept simple. They walked the path to their table with the rest of their wedding party: Hen, Eddie, Buck, Bobby, and Best man Albert to the right, Athena, Karen, May, and Man of Honor Josh to the left, their little girl seated in the lap of the Lee’s, leaving two seats in the middle for them.
The night was actually going by quicker than expected as it was filled with food, toasts, and laughter. Tears of joy streamed down her face as she listened to each one of them make their own separate toast congratulating them as she held tightly to her husband’s hand.
After the toasts finished, the room quieted as Albert announced it was time for the first dance. The beginning notes of their song began to play as Chimney rose from his seat and held out his hand. “May I have this dance?” He asked.
Maddie put her hand in his, he pulled her to her feet and led her to the dance floor. He spun her out once and pulled her back towards him. They held on to each other tightly as they gently swayed in the rhythm they’d found. Maddie met her husband’s eyes, kissing him. “I love you,” she whispered against his lips.
“Ditto.” ---
Did it provide the fluff? I think it provided the fluff.

Buck x OC
Buck is buying a gift for Jee-Yun. It's the first thing he is gonna give his niece and he is nervous, he needs something special and unique, but also very Buck, so Jee-Yun can remember him for forever. He doesn't want Chim to hear about it and we know how the fam can't keep a secret, so he decides to go to Twitter and ask. It becomes viral or not, up to you, but one of the answers he gets catches his attention so he answers and the other person answers him back and suddenly they are having conversations about everything and anything, even after he buys the gift for Jee-Yun and meet her for the first time.
Any way, at some point he and the person chatting in internet decide to meet in person. And what a surprise, he/she/they is someone he met when he was going around, and they have story, but the spark is still there
Hi I love you, thank you so much for this request!
Pairing: Evan “Buck” Buckley x OC
Characters: Evan “Buck” Buckley, Original Female Character, Howie “Chimney” Han, Maddie Buckley, Jee-Yun
Tags: Fluff, awkward reunions, mentions of sex, Buck being an uncle, alternate universe from S.o.S, a lil bit of angst bc Buck can’t figure out a good gift, one count ‘em one swear word
Buck is at his wits end, he’s been struggling to find the perfect gift for his newborn niece but everything he’s looked at has been so cliche so far from teddy bears and blankets to personalized rattles she’ll eventually outgrow. He needs something else- something unique that is the best gift possible- something that she’ll cherish for years to come- and preferably something that Maddie and Chimney won’t throw out.
He’s out of ideas and he’s running out of time so it’s time for drastic measures. Twitter. It’s a last ditch effort really, sending out a tweet begging asking for suggestions on what to get his newborn niece, some of the answers he gets are absurd such as the newspaper on the day that he’ll meet her- what kind of gift is that? Another suggestion is a bath bundle which sounds good at first but then again it’s not very personal to Jee-Yun which is who the gift he’s buying is for, there are more simple things such as blankets and baby clothes but at some point she’ll grow out of those.
Buck feels as though there’s no point in asking anyone, he’ll have to get his favorite niece some crappy gift that won’t be anywhere near perfect and everyone will make fun of him and-
RaeOfSunshine28: How about a memory book?
Huh.
That’s actually....the best suggestion he’s heard all day. He likes the tweet and sends a reply to the stranger who has brought him salvation.
FireH0seBuckley: That sounds like a really cool idea, thx!
He doesn’t think about it for the rest of the day until he’s off work and trying to find a memory book, it’s been awfully difficult for him not to gloat around the station that he’s got the best gift ever planned for Jee-Yun, Where in the world would he ever find that? He’s been searching for awhile when another idea pops into his head.
Message from FireH0seBuckley:
Heyyyy! So thx again for the gift idea...any idea where to get one? :P

Since now!
Buck smiles down at his phone as he and whoever he’s messaging begin to message back and fourth, it’s nice to have someone new to talk to when everyone is busy. This goes on for about a month or so, they message each other frequently and end up texting throughout their days, he feels like it’s become more than a friendship but he doesn’t want to jump to any conclusions. Buck’s been heartbroken enough in the past- but he’s come to the realization that he wants to me this person in....well, person. So he suggests meeting at a local coffee place to finally see each other face to face, it surprises and elates him when they agree.
He’s nervous as he waits at the coffee shop, this is the first time that he’s actually been the one asking someone out, Abby was the one who called him- so was Ali, and Taylor bought him a drink at a bar so making the first move wasn’t in his wheelhouse. The only time he’d usually make the first move was when he was having sex.
The bell to the cafe’s door chimed catching Buck’s attention- speaking of sex- the woman that walked in was someone he recognized, he never caught her name but he certainly remembered the long black hair and stunning green eyes. She doesn’t notice him, at least not right away, instead opening her phone to send a message to someone...at the same time Buck’s phone vibrates in his pocket.
Realization comes crashing into him as he frantically pulls out his phone- there’s no way- there’s no possible way-
Message from RaeOfSunshine28:
Hey I’m here, not certain if you are yet. Want me to get you anything? :)
Holy shit it is. The twitter user he’s been talking to was someone that he’d had a one night stand with. He realizes that he must have been staring at her because her gaze is suddenly on him, eyeing him suspiciously as though she’s trying to place it. When she finally comes to the realization of where she knows him from her eyes become wide with embarrassment, mouth turning into an ‘Oh.’ shape. He gives her a small smile and a wave as she walks over to him.
“Fancy meeting you here stranger, didn’t think I’d be seeing you again since you ghosted me.” She greets all too casually for someone who- nope not thinking like that.
“Did I really ghost you?” Buck asks confidently a genuine smile working it’s way on to his face.
“Well I would say that waking up to an empty bed with no way to contact you would be a good way of ghosting me.” She hums lightly in response.
“Oh but RaeOfSunshine twenty-eight I would say that I have kept in great contact with you.” Her bemused expression suddenly drops into one of shock as he speaks.
“You’re kidding. You’re fire hose Buckley?”She asks sounding incredulous.
“The one and only. So, it’s nice to meet you Rae.” He officially greets extending his hand.
“It’s Raven actually, my friends call me Rae though and since we’ve been past that I suppose you can call me Rae. It’s nice to meet you as well Buckley.” She says a smile beginning to form.
“Buck, actually. Buckley is my last name and Evan is my first name everyone just calls me Buck.”
So it’s a rough start to their relationship but it certainly feels like a good start none the less.
Bonus:
“So why is your twitter handle fire hose?”
“Really? You don’t remember?”
“Maybe I’m just asking for a refresher.”

I’m sooooo happy with that name, I had been hearing it as a theory but I don’t trust tv writers so I was worried they wouldn’t do it 😂😂 it’s such a beautiful name and so meaningful and I just love lil baby Jee-Yun so much!!!!
