The essay “Are You Half?” by @ericakanesaka thinks about how the bullying and death of #HanaKimura, a #multiethnic star of the Japanese reality TV show #TerraceHouse, exposes the violence that underlies fantasies of inclusion for #multiracial people. * * * I found this essay interesting and a must read for anyone who has taken part in toxic bashing of reality tv stars. With the current #Vanderpump scandal, the #SelenaGomez & #HaileyBieber drama and the frequent online bullying of celebs, it's hard to believe that we have to remind people that these are real people with their own personal battles. The pandemic brought on a rise in racist online bullying bc trolls had nothing better to do. I've taken many social media breaks due to receiving harassment myself. It does take a toll. It hurts. Besides poor Hana, we have lost quite a few multiracial/ethnic/poc due to suicide during the pandemic such as #CheslieKryst #Twitch #JasFly. Be kind to each other. I'm still here. No makeup because I've been drinking water and minding the business that pays me. Tears help, too. Who hasn't been crying during this time? I tossed and turned the night we lost #jasfly My stomach turns anytime I let my son go outside and play on our porch. Being a black woman comes with an inner stress that no one else can fathom. I'm learning to manifest what I want, and to release anxiety. Its hard when you're born into the most hated and disrespected group on the planet. I'm tired of being resilient. Strong. Supportive. I want to be beautiful. Desired. Revered. Praised. RESPECTED. LOVED. Because I am from the bloodline of creation. I deserve. I am love. https://www.instagram.com/p/CBW5S3WhFm9/?igshid=17ajxsqd8sd5

I know that my cousin did not commit suicide! The handling of her case or lack there of was indecent, unjust, callus and biased. As a successful black women that was a mental health advocate, she was upset about some things maybe even depressed but spoke against suicide. She was upset about current events (being trolled online being followed by a stalker that was recorded on IG, the current state of race relations in the world ) the obstacles she overcame successfully in life (abandonment by both her parents due to drug use and ignorance, obesity, she spoke against suicide and encouraged people to seek help on her tumblr well as other platforms). People who have nothing to hide hide nothing and she was an open book. The fact that she had a stalker and was being followed and black mailed, should’ve been cause for a thorough investigation. The fact that she even lived entitles her to that. Edwin learnard was posting on you tube before her death was publicized things that he shouldn’t have been privy to. Other red flags were present... these facts should have been cause for a thorough investigation. Everyone is deserving of equal treatment especially when their death is not due to natural causes. Some of my family is ignorant and some just inflicted with Stockholm syndrome. It’s extremely painful to know that for these reasons as well as monetary driven objectives are obstructing them from demanding immediate answers. I am desperately pleading that you spread the awareness. FACTS: In not even 48 hours and equipped with NO autopsy and NO toxicology report No Forensics the coroners office confirmed her death as suicide. As a family member I am appalled, unimpressed and deeply disheartened. The hearsay/gossip of others allowed the (already in compliance with accepted systemic racist policies) police department and coroner’s office to be tainted with the speculation and or beliefs of outsiders. The same medical examiners office that classified Robert Fillers death as a suicide (during the same 48 hours). Doing nothing is equivalent to being complacent and on the wrong side of history. This is wrong on multiple levels and brings me to conclude business as usual will continue. Please help spread the awareness and share #jasfly #jaswaters everyone no matter what the manor of death deserves a thorough investigation. If it is a possibility that Jas in-fact did commit suicide, she still as does everyone else born in this world deserves a thorough investigation when there is an untimely death. There should not have been access allowed to the scene... so many violations of justice! No longer should we accept the status quo! #questioneverything!!!! you’ve been indoctrinated from kindergarten on, ask questions, do your research. Although possible, the probability of the coroners finding is not plausible. If you really know Jas, you know!
