Some Digi-Fan At Me: ArE YOU WATCHING DIGIMON CON???!

M E: While I am watching "Digimon Con", I am keeping my expectations LOW. I am personally happy just to be watching anything relevant to Digimon or Adventure/02 as a series. While I do have hopes for "reveals", I know by now, especially after last year, to keep those hopes IN CHECK and not immediately expect the biggest, best possibility and combinations of "concepts" that we could ever hope to "receive". We may not even "receive" a whole 'new' series, spin-off or movie! We already have a movie ("Zero Two" related/sequel Movie "The Beginning"!) recently!! Nothing is guaranteed!! Even in regards to the games potential, absolutely nothing* can be assumed there (*We'll ignore that the heads of the games have already mentioned, at the very least, possible ports??? and the like of previous older games if there was enough interest, which I am definitely not hyped about re: the potential for those games I never got to play.) I am perfectly fine with this and am not changing my opinion any time soon, so PLEASE do not ask me anything like this unless you want my HONEST opinion about what I'm interested in--!!

-Someone who has been frustrated over this ever since Tri started, and also since Kizuna started, & also since DigiAdv 2020 started,,,,, {Isn't it weird how I never saw this at this level on L.J for multiple years pre-Saikai release???} (The worst I remembered before was from mid-F.F.N days and even Then!)

Thankfully I have a bunch of cool & AWESOME mutuals here who Are Not About That Kind Of Thing, Ever and can I just say all of you who don't partake in that / come onto TAICHI FANS' posts with blatant hate / contempt / bad-faith Takes on Post-02!Taichi or Taichi's ships are amazing???? Thank you (Eternally) {/Genuine}

{& If I never have to block a clearly anti-Taichi, or otherwise anti-Taichi [insert my Taichi ships here] Stan for the rest of my life I could finally rest}

(Don't ask me why they come onto the blog that constantly spams Taichi and KouTai O.T.P + A.M.V.s into my void 24/7 w username 'izzyizumi')

But yeah this was a huge reason why my P.S.A re-blogs started and why I pulled out from making DigiAdvs news updates posts (I was trying to actually spread some Positivity / contribute back then, which is really difficult for me under normal circumstances because outside of Yelling In My Tags, I'm usually actually pretty socially awkward / reclusive...) and the like (some of you may remember I did that around pre-Kizuna dropping, and also when 2020 was starting) because I'd get these kind of Stans lurking on my not-Taichi or Koushiro (at all) posts for whoever their {~Fav~/equally not canon ~O.T.P~} was and I HATED IT.

Some of them are STILL AT IT on DigiTwit weekly after new eps drop (sometimes they jump around socials too, and I'm on other places too... hell some of those names I remembered from L.J days when I was Younger so this pattern seems constant for them) ;; and if they happen to see this post, I just hope they know I was never amused & I'm never going to support their rhetorics. The same person who I mentioned Blocking earlier was also a part of that seeming "group". (But apparently there's also multiple pockets of anti-Taichi Stans???!)

My queue's cleared out a lot since and my blog may finally return to its pre-Bokura no Mirai end state by the time of "The Beginning" release, (though also a lot of my ship tags died out since again...) but I became a lot more hyper-aware of Issues as a result of all that and yeah sometimes I'll still re-blog a post if I feel it genuinely explains an actual concept I'd like to explain well (especially informative posts about Disability and Autism because, like, I'm Autistic, I don't know how many more times I have to ""~confirm~"" that with people before they actually believe me after these 5~8~ straight years of me talking about Being Autistic TM because it's... my blog and my LIFE????)

So yes if you do decide to go onto DigiTwit please prepare to possibly be Blocking multiple amounts of people. Unfortunately

Adventure U.S. Eng Dub Thoughts-spilling

For me, personally, some of the Adventure(-specific) U.S. Eng dub highlights were:

Parts of Episode 01~Episode 02 in general (Just . Classic regardless of Feelings)

Parts of Ep 04 (Sora);

Parts of Ep 05 (Izzy) - I saw this ep (+all previous) late as a kid, but those were in order (it was one of those I had to go back and catch from the beginning while watching eps from middle of the series at the exact same timeframe) but man once I finally had the Context on This Kid,,,,, {Yeah Let's Just Say Izzy Was really Growing on Me}

Ep 21 - some of the feel is different in the J.P.N (Taichi monologues a lot more Deeply, dub has more puns/jokes) but still I seriously (Very Clearly) remember it (a lot of the ep+ it) still leaving quite an Impression on Young Me - especially the end

Ep 23 in general (YamaJou aka Matt+Jou) Joe was awesome this ep (Michael Lindsay ;;;), Matt did well too

Parts of Episode 24 (Izzy) in general, especially middle + end (Honestly look OK it's also a Mona Marshall {Izzy's V.A.} Classic)

A lot of Episode 25 (Mimi)

At least half of Episode 26 (Sora) More for the emotion despite some other changes frustrations, performances however rEALLY Left Impressions on Young Me and it's literally the reason why I found the series to begin with

Episode 28 - more for the Gate sequence (Izzy) and the ending

Near all of Episode 29 (Except "Highton View Terrace" name I agree they could have just kept "Hikarigaoka" but yeah...)

Honestly a lot of Vamdemon / "Myotismon" arc, all puns aside

Almost all of Episode 31 (Izzy + Izumi Family) (Even if some slight contexts were changed here too, the performances were still very nice, especially for Mrs. Izumi)

Episode 34 in general (Kari + Gatomon reveal)

The entire Adoption reveal scene (Izzy + Izumi Family)

"Wizardmon's Gift" Ep in general

The entire reveal of {Taichi}'s 'secret' (Tai + Izzy) And Along with Adoption scene + THIS Scene Izzy Was then ALSO Cemented As A SIDE Fav--- {Little Did I Know} (Shock & Surprise TM Possibly but I was only just starting to understand the contexts of "Shipping", but honestly by some point 02 dub was basically also wrapping up really fast because the same channels I watched also marathoned ?? ? 02 dub at times immidiately post showing Adventure dub, so I then knew of the epilogue's existence super early on too - also not helped by discovering the existence of Character / Web-Shrines, etc)

Basically all of the last few eps in general

Probably a lot more I forgot to list

And just. I'll be really excited to rewatch all this in Higher quality. I mean it.

No, it's not perfect. Yes, characterizations could be better

But I'm really happy that set exists and other fans can enjoy it again if we want to.

Because I very much want to and I'm not really ashamed anymore.

(And I'd genuinely really have fun making some comparisons posts but I'm saving that for a lot later since this set isn't even releasing until Dec. apparently, anyway)

Questions about my blogs' upcoming experience with anything related to The Beginning under the 'read more'.

Which version are you seeing? It depends if I can even make it to the showing, but I'm NOT seeing the U.S. dub version tomorrow, and instead would be seeing the sub on the 9th IF AND ONLY IF it actually works out reminder I am Disabled and sometimes get chronic pain flareups, so we'll see what happens on the day of.

Are you planning to review it? Probably not. I'm not the type to make full-on reviews... If anything I will likely just reblog related stuff, and even that may not happen for a couple weeks still, as I have to build the blog queue back up. I almost have half a mind by now to refund my ticket{s} me and someone bought but its already the day before and I'm not sure I can. At the least my theater here might be pretty empty, so we'll see. It's not necessarily that I don't want to see it on a personal level (I very much do), but I'm going to be honest about my overall opinion once it's out.

Can I ask you your opinion on something {to do with the series}? As long as you understand I am not open to full-on "debating" about it (OR the typical timeline debates; or U.S. dub-vs-sub semantics) and as long as my opinion can be generally respected, catch me when my Ask box is open. Asks here should generally be kept specific to this fan base and this fan base only. {Also, more specifically, Adventure{s}-related franchise as a whole. Yes, I know 'Adventures' is not an official title and I do not need to be told that, it's for tags organization and clarifications' sake when I talk about the whole franchise.} (Just clearing this up now in case, since I'm not sure what the state of things is going to look like after tomorrow.)

Digimon Adventure 02 ~ {United States of America Chosen} ~ {Personal} Favorite Supporting Character{s} Steve & Frigimon {+Bonus New York Chosen Children Group} + Daisuke Motomiya + Mimi Tachikawa (+Satoe & Keisuke Tachikawa) & Michael (also technically a U.S. Chosen) "We couldn't have done it without you {Daisuke}." - Steve

"...That was on December 25th at 3 A.M., local time." (Narrator)

Notes: In the books released post-series production and 02's conclusion, Steve was revealed to be the very first confirmed Jewish American Chosen Child, a significant step forward for the Digimon franchise, as it acknowledged the Jewish community living in real-world America.

Because Steve is Jewish, Steve would have been personally celebrating Hanukkah that year, not Christmas (hence I left out the last subtitle referencing Christmas to prevent confusion).

Chanukah in 2002, when 02 officially takes place, however, was November 29th ~ December 7th, and these scenes took place closer to Dec. 25th (early 3 A.M.). But that doesn't mean Steve, as a Jewish American, wouldn’t have noted Hanukkah (or Chanukah) at all earlier that year, and it’s good to note that when we're discussing potentials of 02′s “real-world based” “timeline”!

(Basically, what Steve is doing here is joining in on, via being invited by being a Chosen Child who is able and willing to help, an Interfaith gathering of individuals that was originally meant to simply send corrupted by virus Digimon back into the Digital World, and was not actually a "holiday" focused gathering initially!) :) {If Steve joins them after the fact is unknown, but either way, Steve would have to be invited and it would have to be acknowledged that Steve as an individual does not celebrate Christmas religiously.}

In the scenes above, Steve is one of only two U.S. Chosen that are also given spoken lines to personally thank and acknowledge Daisuke Motomiya's help (along with the rest, but also specifying Daisuke). {Michael aside, as even Michael doesn't get to comment verbally.}
