“If you put the original event next to the memory, they’d be totally different. And I love this noise in-between…You can’t trust any memories at all, can you? Because it’s all glitched. It’s all nonsense in a way.”

Ivan Seal.
Fascinating works by English conceptual artist Ivan Seal.
Seemingly through a magician's sleight of hand, Seal creates a world that blurs the line between reality and fiction. At first glance, it seems like his paintings offer a realist portrayal of found objects, but upon closer inspection, they reveal abstract distortions invented from the artist's imagination. The resulting images are unsettling, drawing the viewer in with the promise of reality, only to reveal a world that is anything but. By defying our expectations and challenging our perceptions of what is real, Seal creates a thrilling and thought-provoking experience for all who encounter his work.

i mean maybe it’s a stretch but the cover of stage 4 has always been just as haunting to me as the cover of stage 6
it hits the ‘can no longer recognize faces’ despair, as seen in william utermohlen‘s portraits, but it’s directed outwards rather than inwards. the lack of recognition of the people around you, the fading mental image of someone once you’re not looking at them. fuck.
(if your mental health is in decent shape; it’s an album representing dementia and it does a very good job)

Me a couple months ago: Okay I think I’m done adding characters to the Memoria universe now
This girl and another WIP character: Allow us to introduce ourselves!
So uh.. yeah. Caretaker and crew have a sort of universe/defined setting now. There’s still no set story beyond individual characters’ lore and tbh I don’t really have a desire to make one right now.
Bit about Blyss here (she/he): she’s a little paper doll who wound up Back There (aka the primary setting) with her guardian Eden (she/they)- the latter I have yet to fully conceptualize. Pretty shortly after arriving, both were separated from each other. Now Blyss is deadset on searching for Eden and refuses to leave until he finds them. He also has a second form that I’m still figuring stuff out about.
