theres a lot abt post-ph ive never really mentioned. grants theres also a lot i havent figured out
#i only have a handful of arcs and scenes properly figured out i need to get my shit together with this. im def deleting this later#anyways. i dont think ive mentioned anything abt linebeck being more or less immortal#in the sense that like. he cant be killed through combat means. its some weird healing magic shit#specifically started with the intent that it lets me tear him apart repeatedly but its fine bc he heals anyways#with the limits of like. poison and sickness and certain things CAN kill him. but he can like. get disemboweled and its fine#im gonna delete this later im jsut thinking sbt it#i remember while talking to it with a friend he asked ok so how does it work if he gets torn evenly in half#cuz my logic is like. say he gets an arm cut off. the lost arm decays like normal and a new one kinda just slowly grows in bones first#so his question is one ive been thinking sbt since i need to come up with a good answer#anyways linebeck is fucked post ph hes got insane healing shit due to uhhhh reasons (i know the reasons) but hes still made of papier mache#so its like. bellum is more or less indestructible so hes the only actual immortal#while linebeck is just. prone to being a little more reckless. i need to tweak story stuff. hes the worst in combat#so hes very down to like. cutting a hand open to give bellum some of his blood. its fine itll heal in like an hour#the idea is that the healing becomes faster the longer it is since he gets that ability but there is a ceiling#its like a mixture between technically having phantom blood and some other god-ish deity interference i need to zero in on it dw#look i need it so that he can be covered in his own blood and in agony several times without like. him actually fucking dying from it

Top Five Vilebloods, Katy. Humor me ☕️
Allrighty! It can be a bit hard since 'Cainhurst Noble' and 'Vileblood' are different things; one is just the aristocracy, another is clan bound through consanguineous contact... I will just pick more notable characters by intuition instead, it will just feel simpler, you know? Basically 'vampires and snobs and whatever: The List TM'
Five - King of Cainhurst!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We do not know anything about him besides the fact that he was killed by Logarius OOF, but I think he deserves much more attention and recognition. I just wish we knew MORE things than just cut content design and implications. I really lore to speculate and write for this character, though!
Four - Imposter Iosefka
Tumblr media
And maybe her sister. Again, not to downvote Iosefka in any way, but I am just focusing on something more apparent. The Imposter knows Cainhurst's secret potion recipe, is the second character in the setting to mention 'moon scent' (another is Annalise), there is a Cainhurst invitation in the room where she invaded from, and she does get pregnant like Arianna, said to be picked for "dirty" blood.
I feel like the trope of a goddamn deserter is very appropriate here! The girl abandoned her roots and switched sides to pursue something else, perhaps she resented the "dirty" blood of their nobles and that bought her into Church's propaganda. She feels on the similar page as Maria and Adeline... Really complicated and interesting character, much deeper than what meets the eye. And Miyazaki considers her "heroic" for some reason! I think he means the fact she turns people into Kin so they physically can't become beasts instead. (He seems to honor the concept of sacrificing moral principles for what you BELIEVE is better for humanity a LOT... x) It is a consistent quirk...)
Three - Arianna!
Tumblr media
She is precious and deserves a much better fate. She is the secret legitimate heir to Cainhurst's throne (had Annalise not locked it by immortality flex heheh) and I will DIE on this headcanon. I love her displaying concern for female Hunter, that uhhhh... "rewarding" her would be dishonuorable and filthy. She feels inferior to other women because of what she has to do, which is heart-breaking... I love seeing portrayals of her being alive and raising her eldrich baby, usually with someone helping her.
Two - Maria!
Tumblr media
Some of the most beautiful designs, very elegant, and the most fun boss battle in the game. A character with a lot going on with her, she sure has big sword but she ALSO has a big heart, and this is very important. Without much words and lore (because that's Soulsborne, come ooooon), Maria feels incredibly well-written and complex, she is a warrior fell in her own eyes by threading the dark path. She rejected one affiliation she distasted... only to end up with another. Bloody clan or blood-hungry ruthless hunters, which is worse?
And in both cases, it doesn't seem like she can truly hate either. The design of Cainhurst is still in her clothes and sword, and in the cut content she asks for respect for old hunter Gehrman despite now resenting him for "madness of his curiosity". I feel like this is just the person that she is - she could not truly turn on someone. Even disliking Blood Saints and maybe Church altogether, Maria chose to at least support patients that believed in its success rather than "dismantle the oppressive establishment board by board". She is not weak, but she is tender, to a fault. I love complex warrior characters like this more than ones strictly powerful that never feel fear, doubt and never hold connections dear even if they are destructive ones. She reminds me of Yamamura a lot, in terms of a warrior that was strong and great but.. ended up taking more than they could handle.
One - Annalise!
Tumblr media
Ahhhh, shit, wrong picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
Heeeere you go!
I know, it could be strange to put her first after my emotional rant about Maria just now, but... This top is for Vilebloods, is it not? She is, indeed, THE most Vileblood character ever. She is LITEALLY vampire queen!!!
I adore her demeanor and her minimalistic yet so original design. It is easier seen in Japanese original script rather than English, but she tends to drop the royal 'we' in personal moments. She doesn't let the first person that was nice to her in a LONG while to endanger themselves with the ritual, even if that means conceiving another child of blood. She probably let the Church get to her mind too with how she speaks of her own clan as depraved and corrupt, however, for someone who lost her entire castle and nobles, she keeps a VERY brave face. haha... face... xd You see what I am saying. She radiates incredible pride (the good kind of it) and self-confidence for someone in her situation, she is a TRUE Queen not just in status, but in spirit too.
___________________________
(Dis)honorable mention: Bloody Crow of Cainhurst!!!! He is not even IN this list because he is BELOW 5th place! I had to grind god knows how long to finally beat his ass!!!! He is so strong that he needs a boss healthbar ffs, why this DEMON is so stupidly overpowered?? No, 'git gud' is not a good advice on how to beat him AAAAAAAAAAAA
Tumblr media
Thanks for the ask!

remnant is one of the stupidest things when it comes to fnaf "canon" 😭 sorry but i refuse to believe in it especially as a motivation 4 afton .. this sounds kinda weird probably but i think its almost too much of a justification on his part in a way. like idk isnt it honestly more of a horror story if hes doing all that because he just likes to. rather than because uhhhh for some reason when u put a dead kid in a animatronic it creates like .. immortality gallium u can harvest or something ... idk...

Tagged by @aeide and @ainulindaelynn, thank you two!
1) How many works do you have on AO3? 22, so far.
2) What’s your total AO3 word count? 140,852
3) What fandoms do you write for? Quite a couple now! And amazingly I have even more unposted. The Hobbit, Fallout 4, The Old Guard, Supernatural, The Legend of Zelda, Full Metal Alchemist, Greedfall, BG3, Horizon: zero dawn, uhhhhh.
4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1 - Lingua Franca (by a landslide)
2 - Soil and Ashes
3 - Kitsukuroi
4 - what you call a thing is seldom what it is
5 - Prima Lingua (I was surprised this wasn't higher up given that its connected to Lingua Franca)
5) Do you respond to comments? I try really hard but usually end up responding very late in bursts. If you've commented on my work and haven't received a reply... i'm working on it. I will get there eventually. This is a turtle vs hare situation.
6) What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?...This is hard cause most of my fics are unfinished as of right now but.... I think Lacuna for posted but unfinished fics and uh. two of my so far unposted BG3 fics will take the running once they get posted.
7) What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? A lot of them could probably be considered the "happiest" mostly cause i usually make the characters go through the worst of it right before the resolution so comparatively they're happy. >.>
8) Do you get hate on fics? So far no, maybe the occasional pedantic comment that i just... ignore. I think LF was the only fic where I had to deal with that. Perks of being relatively small in fandoms.
9) Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Nah, not my cup of tea.
10) Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? The only one I've written I think is the Hob Gadling meets Sebastian Le Livre and become immortal drinking buddies. That's only been posted here on tumblr though.
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge!
12) Have you ever had a fic translated? Not to my knowledge :)
13) Have you ever co-written a fic before? Nope, I'd be open to the idea of any of my writer buds want to try something low stakes for fun and giggles.
14) What’s your all time favorite ship? I'm not sure I could answer this one cause I'll immediately think of another ship the moment I try and define a favorite ship for 'all time'. Which is great cause there's so many good fandoms and ships out there, what a cool thing to never run out of.
15) What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I also am not a super big fan of this question cause sometime a fic needs years to crystalize into what its supposed to be and we're all doing this for fun/for free... sooooooo you get what you get, and WIPs aren't worth less to the fandom just because they're incomplete.
16) What are your writing strengths? Making people cry (hopefully)
17) What are your writing weaknesses? Anything resembling a consistent writing or posting schedule.
18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? You ask this as if I didn't do a ton of research and base my own knowledge of linguistics to write semi-coherent lingurian in Lingua Franca. If I feel I can pull it off to some degree and it adds to the story? oh hell yes. It's also one of my favorite literary devices in fic and in shows (I'm looking at you Shogun 2024, you beautiful beautiful tv show on the intrigue of translation)
19) First fandom you wrote for? uhhhh. Naruto on like, fanfic.net for the super old stuff. The hobbit for my modern era lmao.
20) Favorite fic you’ve written? I don't have a favorite, I think? My brain just kind of demands I make up stories and like, I am a happier person having made up stories so I do that. Each story has something I absolutely adore about it that I needed to explore but none of them are my absolute favorite above the others.
And that's all folks. I'd love to tag @ongreenergrasses, @lobstermatriarch, @green-nbean, @findusinaweek, @aevallare, @avelera, @tirsynni, @nagia-pronounced-neijia , @poppypopp and with any other writers who'd like to play :) No pressure though!!

can you... expand on that (tlt not being about imperialism)
Elaborate, plz? I'd like to hear more of your tlt opinions
Can you elaborate on the TLT thing with regards of imperialism? I’m not familiar with the series, but I don’t care about spoilers and I want to hear your thoughts on it.
okay so sorry to the third person but i dont want to explain tlt lore so im just gonna assume people know tlt lore. anyway the empire just...doesnt make any sense? which is fine, its not about imperialism. but like, its not clear what exactly the empire is trying to achieve, how its enriching the metropole, etc. its not even clear WHO the empire is fighting? like, we see them occupy territory in NtN but we know that the empire is almost entirely devoted to warfare and yet who that warfare is against is unclear. they move the populations around for like no reason?
i mean, my very loose guess at whats going on is that tLT is actually a critique of extraction-based economic systems (i.e. every economic system since the beginning of time, call me when your premodern society isnt consuming a fixed and irreplaceable quantity of rock), for allegorical magic reasons the biosphere on the nine houses is fucked so theyre almost entirely depend on mining and such, i guess they ran out of material to extract in the solar system (i mean, it is thousands of years later), and so they acquire other planets to mine (plus farm? unclear) them to smithereens (this seems to be described pretty explicitly in NtN), the necromancy means ecological devastation is at megaspeed, the war theyre fighting is over natural resources. obviously itd just be cheaper and easier to extract from uninhabited planets but maybe they need the billionare descendants as like, labor?
so anyway this is bad because 1) "we will run out of resources to extract one day" is, while technically true, kind of a stupid argument imo. like yes obviously eventually, but like, its not modern luxury or whatever that relies on mining, its like...literally bronze age (technically stone age) technology that relies on mining. and a pre bronze age life sucks. and you could make the argument that while yes we could be using it more efficiently, entropy is against us so no matter what you do youll run out *eventually*. so like, then what? you have to make an argument that its running out *soon*, and those are dubious imo, and
2) real life empires were not about extracting natural resources! i mean they were a little. but they mostly werent. the motivations for empire were/are complicated but like, economy is not just "more natural resources good, less natural resources bad", the economy is mostly social and infrastructural wealth, which is complicated to maintain. so again, bad critique of empire.
3) but most importantly, tLT is run by an immortal superpowered godking, and as such the politics in world are totally alien to ours. like, in our world institutions and incentives overwhelm human motives both because humans alone are very weak, theyre only significantly powerful insofar as they can control other humans (or tech), and then also because humans are mortal so institutions outlive them. but tLT doesnt work like that at all, so its capability to be coherent commentary on earth politics is pretty hobbled? which is why it isnt, its a story about its characters, who are complex and whose actions are important on the scale of the characters we know. like yeah jod killed billions but because of the way fiction works this is not the important thing about jod, the important thing is how he treats people we see, which is much more nuanced and complex (alhtough still bad)
uhhhh i had more points. the state of tech in the nine houses is really silly, i know its tied to the resource stuff but it doesnt really make sense anyway. like, tech helps you get more resources. also the nine houses are very short on labor which prioritizes technology. and necromancy doesnt seem to replace technology that well, its pretty limited, esp cuz a single necromancer can only control like, what, ten constructs tops? also the idea of a war-centric economy for thousands of years is really silly. like its just totally infeasible. its fine! the worldbuilding is meant to be evocative and work on first glance, not be a totally functioning system, and it isnt

hi
today i will be explaining the fnaf lore from memory
ok so
theres a fuck ass boy. william afton.
he kills charlie, he kills a buncha kids including gabriel and fritz, stuffs em in suits.
charlie is the puppet, she makes everyone alived, fnaf 2 happens, michael afton does some fucky wuckys, fnaf 1 happens, michael does some fucky wuckys, fnaf 4 happens before all of this, crying child dies, also fnaf WAS a dream but now it isn't, fnaf 3 happens and fucking arson is canon now, fnaf SL happens and we all hate that game (or love it) but it's not replayable and also nobody really solved it, fnaf 6 happens and the franchise is "over" because everyone dead.
also a new thing called remnant exists and thats how william was trying to be immortal or whatever
well uhhhh
after fnaf 6 ucn happens and that's william afton's personal hell.
then help wanted happens, the mimic is a thing (no glitchtrap isn't afton), and it takes control of vanny and MAYBE gregory, the fucking AR game happens, more lore and vanny is becoming a furry, SB happens and vanessa is now fully a furry and also stabbing people and also gregory is free
so the mimic in burntrap's body (who he got by having monty murk the fuck out of bonnie) tries to come back, just for the blob to pop out with its tentacles and YOINK that bitch.
that's awesome man

okey dokey okay alright okay alright
HEAVY SPOILERS yes but like
tw for horror, paranoia, death, vampire shenanigans, mentions of cannibalism, mentions of suicide
I'm thinkin about like. how much of the ending of rental car is such a delicious little horror story all of its own for the Ethels and just like. As A Concept
because they have no way of KNOWING what actually happened at first, whether Nat managed to seize control of the Garble or not
the remaining Ethels have No Fucking Clue what went down
n just....... the waiting game they're playing after the final showdown, when they're like...... they KNOW Nat couldn't have won. the Garble is the centre of a giant fucking vampire hivemind and is basically their god and has all this insurmountable power at its disposal, it's this immortal, life-giving force that's gifted them everything they have and has existed for centuries upon centuries..... and Nat, despite all his strength compared to ordinary vampires, is still just some scrawny little pissed-off unworthy nobody
like, the Ethels believe they have what they have because they DESERVE it, they've been gifted it because they're worthy, and it's holy, and yada yada yada. Nat can't seize control of the Garble, that's blasphemous, that's unthinkable, he's just a selfish little thief
and the idea of like...... uhhhh...... the idea of the Ethels reaching out to their hivemind's centre and getting this radio silence back. and yes, the Garble rarely spoke to them directly, but it shifts around them, it's fluid, it answers their needs, it moulds itself to their desires. but the Garble is just. flat. unresponsive. unchanging
then when the dust all finally settles (aka Nat finally manages to start wrangling things somewhat under his control and isn't just, like, completely 100% blacked out disconnected from reality) n the Garble starts. shifting again. starts learning. starts responding. in small ways at first. and something about it is just.......... off
and them begging for forgiveness for, like, the chaos and how bad things got for a while and that they allowed things to get so far. them praising and adoring and apologising to this force that, for the first time in centuries, appears to simply Not Hear Them. how terrifyingly silent it all would be for them after all that time
(and the parallels between this and the way Alex describes the Garble during the story, with the Garble's complete refusal to hear or acknowledge Alex's desperation and yearning to be gentle and kind and its pleas for some kind of mercy or escape from the All Of This of vampirism, the way the Garble is shown again and again to be something violent born of fear and greed with no regard for the lives its engulfing, be they human or vampire)
(but that's a ramble for another day)
and it gets louder and stronger and more present and it's more intense and sentient and human and coherent than the original Garble's.... well.... garbled-ness ever was
and it fucking HATES them
n idk the idea of like. them praying to this familiar comforting unseen force that's known them and provided for them for centuries. only to find that suddenly something completely different is answering them. the fucking horror of praying to what is basically ur god and hearing nothing back then when you finally get Something Back and you're so relieved only to then just find, like....... man, whatever the fuck is answering you now, it's most certainly Not Your God
and boy oh boy does it despise you with every shred of its being! boy is this thing full of ancient smouldering fucking rage!
and that's the SETUP for the delicious horror. the waiting for a reply instead of the terrible terrible radio silence, only to find the reply ten billion times more chilling
I have spoken about the fact that Nat has A Plan for the Ethels, and that with the level of control he ends up with he basically just spends months tormenting them like he's playing with his own little murder dollhouse <3 but idk if I've actually explained What He Does To Them
essentially, with full Garble control, Nat can pull all kinds of stupid bullshit. he's in their fuckin brains. he's in their fuckin blood. sure, he could just make them explode instantly in a gory mess if he wanted without breaking a sweat buuuuuut he wants to have some fun with them y'know?? he's earned it!!
he's not concerned with being merciful or forgiving or the bigger person, he's concerned with being a gleefully petty evil little bastard delightedly toying with his prey and indulging his inner Quinnlike tendencies. giggling and smiling and kicking his legs like a small child decapitating barbie dolls and melting them over candles
anyway.
so. well, the first thing is, like, the Ethels do just like....... have humans in their fucked up little murder house. some of them are helpful like Corinne, bastard and chef and serial killer, whose name I will be changing at some point because it sounds too similar to Quinn when spoken aloud, but lots of them on any given day are just for eating. or playing fucked up little murder games with and then eating. do they have a little room they lock people in. do they lure people in with their weird gaslight house magic bullshit and then lock them up and then eat them. yes
my point is There Are People who Do Not Want To Be There, Thanks
so one day, an Ethel gets just. this little flicker of a thought. just a tiny murmur of an idea. which gradually turns into a bigger murmur of an idea. then an urge. then a decision. the Ethel, for some reason or another, is feeling Compelled to just. let all the fuckin humans out
so the human food supply is gone, n the Ethels are like. well that was fucking stupid. but okay yeah the human situation is pretty dire we should go Get Some More Fucking Humans. we can't exactly just wait for them to stumble in here like they usually do
only to find that they cannot leave their house anymore!
or, more precisely, they CAN leave their house, if they want their eyes to start melting out of their skulls and their bones to start snapping and their blood to start digesting itself and ultimately to die in incredibly gruesome fashion
the Ethels do not leave their house.
they're gettin kinda nervous and gettin kinda hungry and the few humans who are kinda..... vaguely voluntarily there are gettin VERY nervous. some of them probably bolt in time, others like Corinne try to stay loyal but twig too late and get torn to shreds and devoured. no fuckin loss. all my homies hate Corinne
and then there's no humans and lots of Ethels and none of them can leave the house! what fun! things are tense and confused and, hey, they're vampires, and one aspect of vampirism the Ethels have rarely had to come to real grips with is the tendency to spiral into paranoia and anxiety and terror at the drop of a hat
anxiety and paranoia over the thought that someone might take even a sliver of their hoarded fucking wealth and resources? sure!
anxiety and paranoia about being trapped in an actually legitimately perilous horror movie murder dollhouse that they can't leave and they have no food and vampires are prone to cannibalism under intense hunger and their god isn't their god and whoever is masquerading as their god is clearly playing fun little cruel games with them and screwing with their heads? not so much!!!
things remain unchanged for a while, so the tensions and anxieties climb higher and higher. once Nat decides they're at a sufficient breaking point, he just kind of. starts draining the Garble from one of the Ethels. lmao
that's a thing he can do, because..... well, yeah! Nat can de-vampire people :3 no more Greeble for you. Greeble privileges revoked. naughty vampires get turned human for piss off Nat crimes
the process is a slow one, of course, otherwise the body can't handle it and just kind of. melts and undoes itself like a poorly made sweater. but one of 'em is definitely Changing. a little less vampire and a little more human day by day. and the other Ethels are starting to look at that Ethel in ways that make that Ethel feel. a little unsettled!
anyway, long story short, Nat turns the Ethels human one by one. starts with one, whoever snaps and feeds on that human is the next one to start changing. the Ethels catch on pretty quick but like. they're vampires, they're jumpy, they're stressed, they're hungry, they're vicious. so this little curse of humanity keeps gettin passed on and the Ethels' numbers keep dwindling and the paranoia and terror keeps rising
it is important to note that Etheldreda aka Head Ethel is Not Allowed To Participate in any feeding. Nat can tease at letting Etheldreda feed but nah. Etheldreda gets to watch all the other Ethels devour each other one by one. no matter how hungry or how horrified Etheldreda is, Etheldreda is only allowed to watch
anyway, Nat has fun with this for a bit but he IS running out of Ethels lmao. eventually it's just Etheldreda and one turned-human Ethel left, and Nat permits Etheldreda to have a little snack :3 Etheldreda knows goddamn well what's going to happen afterwards, but like. the bastard's near starving, sooooooo
and then we are left with one lonely little Ethel, slowly becoming human again. and again like. yeah, the initial unresponsive Garble was bad, and then the horror of the Garble being something completely cruel and unrecognisable, something that's just toying with you, that's terrifying, but feeling that force that's been tormenting you FADING COMPLETELY is probably the worst thing imagineable at that moment
like! it's the dawning realisation of how alone Etheldreda is, as well as just...... yeah, Nat's been a dick to the Ethels, but No Garble At All means like. crossing the final threshold to humanity. which, as Nat rightly concludes, is the most fitting punishment for Etheldreda. ehehehehehehehe
with of course the important note that Nat controls the Garble, Nat can control VAMPIRISM in every sense, and can easily make sure that Etheldreda is never turned back no matter what methods are tried
n it's a good punishment bc like uhhhh
'cause the thing about the Ethels is like...... everything is about hoarding resources and especially hoarding LIFE and!!!! they've all been tied up in a hivemind for hundreds of years that was CREATED FROM A FEAR OF DEATH. the Garble itself was BORN out of a fear of dying, every instinct comes back to that one way or another
and Etheldreda is given the option either to die or live as a human
so like. go against EVERYTHING the Ethels value and all these years and years and years of ingrained instinct and terror.... and the stubborn, awful idea that the Ethels deserve to live more than others, the idea they all built their entire lives around and their sense of reality and morality, that they all believed enough to justify all the atrocities they've committed and the lives they've stolen and absorbed for themselves. to die and go back on that, in turn being forced to LOSE, to admit that this was an incorrect assumption and admit this was untrue by choosing to die
or live as a human no more powerful than any other human, alone and having lost everything, to have to live the life of someone Etheldreda has always considered unworthy
like!!!!!!!!!!!!
aaaaaa.
you feel me?
anyway that's the fun little Ethel horror movie lmao. like. the type of horror that is absolutely horror but also witnessing it is just like. yeah y'all had this coming. fuckers. I'm not rooting for you I'm just excited to see you get what you deserve, you immortal rich entitled heartless bunch of mass murderers
anyway
I think it'd be fun as all hell to write a little spinoff side story from the Ethels' perspectives about what happens between the end of book three and the epilogue bc I think both the horror potential and the catharsis potential are just exquisite
but also I don't know if I could stomach writing from the POVs of people so completely nauseatingly casually awful. I do not want to enter the Ethel Headspace, thanks, it's gross in there lol

You know the drill: post the names of all the files in your WIP folder regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it.
I just want to preface this by saying that I think I've said this but I have a real hard time titling things, mostly the idea comes first and I have to pry the title out of its cold dead fingers. so that's why this list looks like such a mess haha. usually all my WIPs are literally just "untitled xyz" until something better comes along.

[Sorry that it's so many, I couldn't resist asking a lot xD]
1. Show your most recent wip
A ref for another oc for a friend's book
A young man who was ran out of his own kingdom at 13 by his family due to his cursed power: Rot. He lived on the streets ever since, the rotting scar growing more and more, adding bandages and cloth to hide them.
He finds himself afraid of intimacy for fear of killing others with just a touch and thinks of himself as a monster. The main character finds him endearing and slowly helps him accept this as apart of himself even if he doesn't like it.
Tumblr media
3. Least favourite things to draw?
mmmmm mechs and metals, funnily enough I love drawing weapons and armor but just can't deal with mechs esp ugh
that is why I love fantasy bc it usually don't have mechs lol also kyo and most shield hero characters bc holy shit they are so complicated esp that albino bitch
4. Favourite things to draw?
top 3 things would be Howl like characters (see what Elijah and William look like), environments esp greenery and skies, and expressions the way the eyes and how the nose crinkles when we're angry stuff like that very human and stuff :]
5. Anything you haven’t drawn yet but want to?
Animals in a less cartoony way I usually do also classical esqe paintings I always admired the way the skin looks so soft and how the hands looked esp regarding hands holding again the humanity within these paintings is so very mortally immortal idk thats how I'd describe it
17. What inspires you?
A lot, a lot and a lot of things. Could make an essay. Mind if I make an essay?
No? Eh you're still getting one lol
But I think life inspires me, humanity inspires me, my daily relationships even the smallest interaction with an acquaintance. It's love and the hate and the daily struggles and the tragedies we see in the world. And again at the end of the day it's love that inspires me.
And I know this is about paintings and drawings but writing is an art on its own.
And the things I want to write about are all of this including the grief of being human and the blissfulness too.
I'm gonna be real for a second and say this is also based off of my experiences with death and how I've dealt with grief especially since all three were different.
also just ye uh cw death and all that and it might go into some uhhhh ig traumadumpy territory but I promise it's related
One was of somebody that refueled my love of writing and making my own stories and he was honest to god my fucking hero and I wouldn't have gotten to where I am without him.
Thank you Technoblade for inspiring me and alot more people.
It was indirect and I didn't really know him know him, yknow I was just a fan and yet it hit so badly and it still does and just man grief just it never disappears and I can't put it into words yknow
Another was a figure from my childhood, somebody like Techno who I really looked up to and I wish to this day that he got to see me grow up and I could see him and remember him before he got sick and just its a grief of wanting to go back and spend as much time as I wished with him, he was sorta a second father to me
The last and most recent is someone who couldn't control themselves and needed help but the state didn't give it and bc they didn't get the help it ended up hurting the people around them too, tragic and painful and its just so fucked and really fuels my hatred for the state
Anyways after all of that I wanted to write and draw, create something to put all of my feelings about death and grief and my continuing love for life even if it can be shit into something so I wrote Reverie of The Axe Hero and have come up with similar ideas about the struggle of being plainly human
And I think once I'm done with Reverie I think I'll finally heal from this grief, and it may not ever disappear, it never does; but I'll be able to move on. Sorta my own stages of grief if you will.

Just take my dumb list of things that might be in the archives and uhhhh ? ignore me maybe I should probably make these into a legit headcanon but mmmeh i'm still so timid about sharing my own lore and all that jazz
excalibur ; one of the first items that was catalogued within the archives, this is one of the few 'lawful' items that can be used by and archivist if the need arises, although it has never been used, it is a sword of immense power.
the book of the unknown doctor ; a book that was initially thought to be owned by the first plague doctor, a simple paper cut on this book can lead a person to contract any horrific disease known to man and die.
demonic music box ; an ornate looking music box, if it is opened, it is said to release one of the many demonic inhabitants into the world. it whispers to those around it, tempting them to open the box.
cursed children's doll ; a doll that is inhabited by something that can only be described as evil, not even the Vatican could exorcise it. it is now in safe keeping and locked away with its powers nullified.
amulet of unknown origin ; it emits whispers and chanting to whomever holds it within their hand, it is said that those who allow themselves to listen, are simply destroyed from what they allow themselves to witness.
care bear ; it's a plush toy of a small, bear that keeps close to the archivist, often there to fix broken bones or papercuts with medical supplies it obtains from ... somewhere, it gets visibly sad when it can't cure mental illnesses. it is the size of a mug
anywhere key ; a small, brass key that can be used to open any door within the world, however when said door has been opened, the other side of the door will be another location pendant on where the user wishes to go, and if there's a door at that location
death's cloak ; a scrap of fabric taken from the grim reaper's robes, anyone who holds this fabric is unable to die and will be practically immortal ( tests on the removal of limbs have not been undertaken ) the long-term side - effects of this are unknown.
book of creation ; a book where whatever is written on the pages, is born into reality - this includes items, creatures, and events. Its power relies on the writer themselves and their level of detail. Events that are written are able to be changed / they are not set in stone and destined to happen - it is assumed that this is due to God giving humans 'free will'
first plague doctor mask ; a bird - like mask which was located amongst a kingdom of bodies, anyone who places this mask on is allowing for Pestilence itself to take control of their body and spread disease amongst humanity. It smells like decaying flesh.
pied piper of hamelin's pipe ; a pipe that was used to lure away the rats of hamelin, eventually it was used to lure away the children from the kingdom, making them disappear entirely. this pipe also has the same effect, whoever plays a tune on it will have children and rats follow their lead.
bag of holding ; a bag which can hold an unknown amount of objects within it, on the outside it looks like a simple leather satchel, large items which are bigger than the opening have not been tested.

Hey! I had a few disagreements with certain plot points in forbidden west too… so I’m curious to know which ones you were against? (Clearly there’s gonna be spoilers discussed here so warning all!)
Yeah uhhhh major spoilers right off the bat, but
I was really bothered by Varl's death. Not so much that a character with that role would die at that time. It made sense in the story and I'd predicted it enough that I stopped and did most of the side content right before that point because I wanted to maintain that status quo as long as I could. But so much of the writing for both Horizon games seems to be trying to avoid outdated tropes and doing representation right, so the fact that they just...exactly reproduced the trope of the Black man dying early bothered me a lot. Like to a point where I'd say the decision to do that was racist - not intentionally, but certainly in practice. That single decision called many previous decisions into question, too. Like...did they only create Zo and add her to the group so there'd still be a Black character in the squad after Varl's death? I'd like to think not, but from a sorta utilitarian writing perspective, it's hard not to think that's her purpose. I'm going to be thinking for a very long time about how Varl's death unravels many decisions I'd originally appreciated. Also sorta on that note, but just like in Zero Dawn, only one trans character, hidden away in a missable sidequest? Come on, Guerilla. I'm also not a huge fan of the scene where Aloy destroys the Bulwark. Or rather, I'm not a fan of the framing of that scene. Destroying this important piece of Tenakth history and culture is bad, but it's not necessarily bad writing for the protagonist to do the wrong thing. Frozen Wilds had introduced the thread that Aloy's tendency to ignore tradition and culture and steamroll through them was a character flaw she would need to work on. Forbidden West mostly blunts that initial flaw, instead making Aloy just kinda skeptical of traditions, maybe sometimes manipulating them to get her way. That change was...fine, but the destruction of the Bulwark feels like it was made for an earlier version of the story where Aloy is much less accepting. As it is, the game frames that moment as a triumph. She's celebrated by NPCs for the rest of the game as the Wallbreaker, and that feels so wrong in a game about preservation and archives. Less glaring than the previous two, but I'm also not huge on the big final reveal that an angry hivemind is coming to destroy earth. Once I was given some time to think about it, I understood how that can be thematically interesting in the next game, but in the moment it was so quick and pulled the rug away on the victory the characters managed to win, and pushed the world's scale out too much and too quickly. The series has always had weirdly mass-effect vibes - redhead finds a device that lets her hear the words of a past civilization, telling her that a world-ending threat is on its way - but this game leaned too much into it. The hub area just feels like the normandy, and navigating dialogue trees with characters who have holograms on their temples so I can unlock their loyalty missions felt like I'd been pushed into the wrong game at times. Obviously, this plot isn't exclusive to mass effect - it much more closely follows the beats of, like, FFXIV Endwalker - but it feels weirdly stagnant for a franchise that's mostly so unique from others in its genre. I'm sure if I thought about it there'd be more. Ulvund being essentially a union leader and also the antagonist, for instance. But that's what comes to mind off the bat. I've heard folks have been mad about some of the sci-fi elements being too sci-fi, like Faro and the Zeniths still being alive, but I thought they were fun and didn't really strain my disbelief by all that much. I'm already buying into hard light and robot sauropods; it's not that much of a stretch to extend that to immortality.

Undead sep au lore <33 uhhhh
Necromancy (bringing back the dead) has been around for forever but because of what I'm abt to start rambling about, people started assuming that necromancers had killed the people they brought back rather than resurrected them. This led to a misconception of necromancers (after many many years of rumours and myths getting twisted) as "magyk user who uses darke magyk and other people's souls to keep themself alive forever". Necromancy isn't darke magyk tho it's just. Magyk
Many real necromancy spells are very, very delicate and difficult and precise and have to be done exactly right or else there will be very bad consequences ranging from "it didn't work" to "shit we blew up a building and also nothing will grow here ever again" so it's a very skilled art that for obvious reasons can't really be self-taught
Necromancy brings people back from the dead (duh) and they're just. Themself again. No personality change or anything but it makes the person (or animal it works on animals) who's been brought back be..off. Like there's nothing Wrong with them on the surface level, logically there's no reason they'd be that way but they are and it's unnerving and scary. Normally it's at a very low level type thing like there's clearly something wrong here but u might be able to ignore it. The necromancer can't notice this even if they know its there
People aren't immortal after being brought back - their body works exactly the same as it did when they died (unless their corpse has been messed with), all the necromancy does is put their ghost back in its body. Necromancy gets less effective the older the body is, if its not in pristine or near-pristine condition then the person won't survive
Necromancy can, however, be done multiple times, infinite times really as long as the body is intact. The downside is that every time a person is brought back the sense of wrongness increases and the chance of something going wrong does too. Most necromancers consider 3 the most times someone can safely be revived - it's possible to do more but it's very ill advised for both parties since complications are more likely to arise and if the necromancy fails then the persons ghost can just disappear never to be seen again and the necromancer can die
Hiring a necromancer is very very expensive so it's mostly only royalty and nobility that use them. In parts of the world where this is common there's a culture that nobles don't show themselves to the public - always behind screens or in carriages. The castle is not one of these places
Marcias family have been necromancers forever and its part of why they moved around so much. Its only when her father tries to revive a king from a land of snow and it turns out his daughter had lied about how many times he'd been brought back does anything go wrong and the kings ghost disappears and the princess puts the blame on their family - they flee the kingdom with the common folk essentially waving pitchforks and torches behind them
When they reach the castle her parents immediately ban her from all magyk - including necromancy, and she refuses to listen and manages to get her father to teach her some things but her mother finds out and stops him before she can ever bring back a person. Her mother insists that necromancy nearly got them all killed and it'll only happen again if they carry on the tradition so she burns the books they have, all except the few that marcia has stashed in her room
That's all the stuff there needs to be I think,, I'm not so confident on some of it but i can always change it later <3
OOOOOH OKAY I LOVE THIS

I hope it doesn't bother you that I'm sending another ask. Your answers just genuinely intrigue me! (As they should... for someone sending an ask. Pfft.)
Do you think The Collector can be redeemed, or do you think he's too far gone and has no moral values for it to be possible? In any case, it would be difficult to redeem him with only a couple of episodes left.
its not a bother! i love having an excuse to ramble out my thoughts, keep giving me questions!
can the collector be redeemed? sure, any villain can be. should he? uhhhh. i personally don't think he should. or at least, it can't happen in a satisfactory way with the show's time limit.
now imma be honest, the show's made it very clear, i think, that the collector's getting a redemption arc of sorts. he is constantly shown in a sympathetic light, and we're given reasons to like him. (he was tricked by belos, he was sealed away, he is very childish. he has a funny goofy personality that everyone immediately attached onto). that on it's own isn't bad, but this version of the collector doesn't track with the other version. (the one in the cloak from eda's dream in Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Hooty's Door.)
the collector's past actions are felt across the entire series since eda's curse was revealed. the collector is the one who trapped the owl beast (and most likely many more sentient creatures) within scrolls and turned them into curses. the collector has a connection to why the titan's are (basically) extinct. the collector showed belos magic stronger than anybody else's, showed him how to make grimwalkers, etc. The collector has responsibility in how the boiling isles as a whole have been under belos' rule. not only that, but the collector, in canon, has been shown to have little regard for the life of others. he laughs about the grimmwalkers and how belos treats them (he sees them as toys, most likely. not even sentient beings.), he doesn't care if there's going to be a genocide of witches. all this dude cares about is being able to play games. that's....... kinda fucked
"but! the collector's just a child with godlike powers, he doesn't know better!" first of all: childishness =/= child. the collector is as old, if not older than the titan's corpse. he's an immortal, godlike being, who acts like a child with no regard for others. THIS industrial can of worms is not something that can be solved in *looks at scratched handwriting on my wrist* three episodes.
it's just there's not enough time. that's the problem with the writing, mostly, is that the writer's are attempting to rush through their plot and not properly flesh out things that definitely need more screentime to be understood properly. of course, disney's mostly at fault here (stop cutting your good shows!!! bastards!!!), but the writer's are also the one's making these decisions for the story. it feels like, instead of cutting back on the fat to make something digestible, they're trying to scoop as much of the original idea back onto the plate in time in hopes of releasing the full idea, even though it won't be as good. sure, it'll have more 'content', but i'd rather have the scale be dialed back and have a satisfactory conclusion than have a rushed, jumbled conclusion that hits all the plot points the crew wanted to include.
and i get it. seeing your brainchild, your baby, your beloved story you've been thinking about for years get dragged because of corporate decisions outside of your control SUCKS. it must hurt like hell. and the crew, especially dana terrace, has my full sympathy. but unfortunately, if you wanna still make a good story within those constraints, you have to cut a lot. you need to dedicate time to the most important pieces, you have to change things you were absolutely in love with. the story still needs to be good.
woof, sorry about the tangent there. back to the collector
i'm convinced the show is going to redeem him. like i said, there's tons of sympathy points, and with the way the show is snowballing through plot developments, it won't surprise me if the ending has the collector "turn good" or "get adopted by eda" or something. i think that's a crappy ending, but whatever.
the collector is luz's narrative foil. he's a being that treats the boiling isles like his playthings, like how luz did at the start of the show. luz was self assured, but also kind of selfish. she treated the boiling isle's and the people inside of it like her escapist fantasy, like playthings. OF COURSE she's no where near as bad as the collector or anything like that, that's not what i'm trying to say. luz grows as a person and learns to take responsibility (though a little too much, ha, that's luz's can of worms) and treat the boiling isles as her home, not just some place to stay during the summer and on weekends when real life gets hard.
it makes sense for the collector to be redeemed. hell, my prediction for the finale is for luz (and king) to talk to the collector, sympathize with him, but then talk him down from his actions, telling him that the people in the boiling isles are people, they're real, not just playthings you can do whatever you want with. treat them like people, and you'll even find friends or family. the PROBLEM is just that there's isnt enough time. this is a good premise, but there isn't enough time to explore it. we have three episodes. THREE!!! that's barely anything! and it doesn't help that the collector has made some pretty bad choices up till now. if/when the collector is redeemed, it'll be ... really unsatisfying.
maybe the show will surprise me though! im holding out hope. as much as i have gripes with how the show's being handled right now, the crew still makes quality stuff. i hope im pleasantly surprised
