it's a lazy saturday afternoon when you get betrayed by your boyfriend.

you're sitting at the round table on the patio of satoru's place; you always forget just how rich his parents are whenever you're around him. if not for that stupidly expensive cologne he wears and that one time you happened to see the price tag on the new pair of sunglasses he bought himself, you would've been blissfully unaware. after all, for a rich kid, he's pretty grounded. at least, when he isn't tooting his own horn.

but being here on the gojo estate, it hits you in the face like a ton of bricks; forces you to accept the fact that your boyfriend is loaded.

the breeze is gentle as it runs through your hair, but satoru's absentminded touch as he drums his fingers along your arm is more than you could ever ask for. it's the little things like this; habits of his that make you love him all the more. the way he'll throw his arms around your neck and latch onto to give you a big hug from behind, or carry you around like you're a little kid when you're worn out and you can't feel your feet from a day's worth of walking.

there's seven empty juice boxes littered across the table and a half-empty one in your hand; the paper straw is already folding in on itself, which makes it much harder to get any of the remnants at the bottom of the carton. at least the drink is nice and sweet; refreshing lime on a sunny day.

"why did they stop giving these things plastic straws? it's so soggy now," you complained, shifting in your seat as you shook the juice box. it did not relent, or give up any of its juice. you make a face, and you could swear it makes one back.

satoru glances up at you, tearing his attention away from his phone as a small grin appears on his lips. "don't you know? it's good for the environment. obviously, you're not in tune with nature like i am." he snickers, adjusting his shades on the bridge of his nose before turning his attention back to the screen between his fingers, withdrawing the hand that was on your arm to form a cushion for his chin on the crook of his elbow.

"oh, [name], [name]! you're hurting us! woe be upon thy and thou foul plastic tomfoolery." your dignified lover puts his phone down, straightening up to wave his arms about as if he's one of those inflatables you see in front of car dealerships. you think he's trying to be a tree, but you're not entirely sure. "hear that? the plants are calling you," he grins, pausing his arm waves to nudge you in the shoulder.

"stop doing that, satoru. you look stupid. the maids will think you've lost it," you chuckled, kicking his leg in jest as you leaned back in your seat and took another sip from the juice box.

"you're one to talk." he scoffs, and you glare at him, giving him a pointed look. he just giggles, sticking his tongue out before making a grab at your juice box. you swipe it out of his reach before he can wiggle his fingers any closer, and the way his expression falls an apple from a tree makes a laugh bubble from your throat. unlike the apple, it's not gravity that's pulled him down; you never indulge him, because you like making him chase. he enjoys it— he thinks it's good that you're playful. but it's annoying when he's thirsty and it's not his fault those juice boxes are so damn small.

"toru, i have a question for you. answer well and the rest of this is yours," you said, shifting in your seat to cross your legs and face him, propping the juice box on your knee. there's not much inside, but you know he'll scavenge for every last drop, like he's some raccoon. it's cute, you think.

he perks up immediately, turning his phone off and mirroring your position in his own seat; his limbs are slightly too long and too lanky to fit proportionately in the seat, but he doesn't seem to mind when his knee bumps against yours.

"yes? what is it, my sweetpea?" he grins, enjoying the sour expression on your face. it seems the lime juice has worked its way into your system.

you scowl. "sweetpea? what kind of nickname is that?" it's cute, though, so you don't say anything more. you stare at him for a moment, taking in his features; the wide smirk on his lips, the way his hair gently ruffles around his face like passing clouds.

you sigh; resigned, as you roll your eyes.

"name a woman."

"...what?"

he tilts his head to the side, staring at you through his lashes, an inquisitive squint that makes him look a lot like a white cat.

you laugh a little, and his grin widens. "you heard me. name a woman. any; the first that comes to your mind."

he hums in acknowledgement, making a show out of tapping his chin with a finger in deep thought, a mock pensive expression twisting his lips down before he looks at you again, a teasing glint in his azure eyes that gives you a terrible sense of foreboding.

"kuroki meisa."

now it's your turn to ask. "what?"

he shrugs, a shit-eating grin on his face yet again as he tilts his shades down to give you a look that he knows will get you bothered.

"you heard me, princess. i named a woman. the first that comes to my brilliant mind, right? now how about giving me that juice box—" he starts, reaching forward and leaning in his seat to make another grab at the box perched on your knee. you yank it away from him just in time; his fists close around cool air and he groans loudly.

"you're no fun." he pouts, biting the inside of his cheek.

"satoru! who the hell is kuroki meisa? you were supposed to say me! or your mom, at least. or shoko." you glared at him, turning your nose up and refusing to acknowledge him as he pouts and crosses his arms over his chest like some petulant child who got his ipad confiscated.

"i did what you told me to do! you can't be mad at me for that." he protests, squirming in his seat.

a lightbulb goes off in your head; normally, that'd be a good thing, but the way you're gritting your teeth so hard he thinks your jaw might crack doesn't bode well. "wait, don't tell me. is she another one of those models? satoru, i swear—" you start, but he cuts you off hastily, making a mad grab at the juice box and coming out successful and surprisingly unscathed.

"she is." he says sheepishly, toying with the sad paper straw before attempting to take a sip. he struggles, but eventually you hear the tell tale sign of liquid moving up the hollow straw. you're too busy seething to notice, though.

"gojo." you say his surname, and he flinches a little, an overwhelming sense of icy dread sinking its claws into his shoulders as his grin turns into one of nervous panic. it's familiar; the one he experienced when you'd found one of your missing bras in the drawer compartment underneath his king sized mattress (that he always complains about feeling ten times emptier without you in it).

"yes, my sweet?" satoru's about to face you when something hits him square in the face— with all malicious intent and cutting cardboard corners. seven juice boxes on the table plus one half-filled one has now become six on the table, a half-filled in his hand, and another on the floor. you're glaring daggers at him, still posed to strike in your chair. he rubs his cheek, grinding his teeth together and grumbling before he looks at you again with an extremely disappointed expression on his face. "the plants, baby! if they didn't already dislike you, they sure do now." he huffs. but with the way you're looking at him, he wouldn't put it past you to throw the table at him next.

"give me my juice box back, you brat." you hiss, and he laughs, staring down at you like you're some cute little zoo animal. he wants to dote on you; he can't help it! you're so adorable, with your cheeks all red and your bottom lip sticking out in a little endearing pout. he wants nothing more than to drop the juice box, drag you onto his lap and squish your pretty face until you start complaining and stop him with a kiss.

satoru knows he won't get anywhere if you're still pissed at him, though, so he at least has to try and make amends.

"aww, don't worry, baby! you're the only woman i think of when i—"

"that's enough out of you, traitor."

satoru just grins and finishes off the juice box, relishing in the look of mild anguish on your face as you watch the cardboard crinkle inward like some black hole sucked it in; a telltale sign of what was half-filled a moment ago becoming completely empty; a dry well that was once your reservoir of life. you retreat back into your seat, hugging your knees to your chest and putting on your best, heart-tugging frown. it doesn't take long for satoru to notice when you do, and he immediately melts, tossing the juice box aside to the poor plants and leaning forward to cup your cheek in his palm.

"what's wrong, love? you know i only did it to see you upset," he chuckles, and you can't help but smile before remembering you're supposed to be pissed.

"that was the last juice box, satoru. and i'm still thirsty. and a little hungry." you sighed, rubbing your forehead. you felt a little guilty. "but it's okay."

satoru sighs, before pulling away and standing up, stretching his arms and cracking his back with exaggerated movements, like he's making letters out of his body.

"alr-ight! up with you, then. let's go to the market." he grins, lending you a hand and nudging your foot with his. you stare up at him with those sweet big eyes, and he feels himself melt a little.

"are you sure? they're expensive—“

"shut it, sweetpea. it's all on me. how does katsu sound?"

your face lights up, and so does his. after all, he'd do anything for his sweet girl— no model could ever compare to the very sun of his life; the brightest star in his sky.

arlan acts out his love by his actions. constantly mentions and talks about that one quote that 'actions are louder than words.' and so they are! he always tries to yk, make you remember you feel loved. would like to just bring you around with him, or even vice versa, like i said before he doesn't seem too sociable, and usually just talking to people other than asta for business purposes, yet that differs when you help introduce him to other people.

tbh he'd probably like dates at home more than going out. like cuddling by the fireplace, just both of you covered in a blanket together cuddling near the warm fireplace like damn!

asta, oh this sweetheart!! she'd try to tell you with her words, all the time, that you are what she loves so much, and dearly!! the words 'i love you' are always constantly being said to you! and honestly she's just the kind of person to hold your hands, and put it on her chest, and tell you that she loves you to the moon and back. she just wants you to always know the way she loves you, is unlimited, and never ending. she wants you to always know that.

hi !! Im new to the sfh fandom and I’ve read one or two of your works and you characterise mjjw so well !!! (and ur writing style is so amazing like damn??) but I think half because of my subtitles being crap half because of how complex these characters are I’m kinda struggling to characterise them well in a way that feels canon compliant while attempting to write fics if u gm? Do you have any tips for writing moonjo, jongwoo, or mjjw? Like how they think or speak or just general things like habits etc. /nfnf but itd be really appreciated <3

hello<3 so sorry for the late response im barely on here. first of, thank you sm and welcome to the fandom<3

i actually watched the show quite a few times before i started writing for them (understatement.. ive seen the show an embarrassing amount of times lol). i think the biggest difference between moonjo and jongwoo is that moonjo is relatively quiet and has calm mannerisms (slow smiles, picking his tongue, gazing lovingly, listening without talking) while jongwoo is a much more agitated guy (pursed lips, glancing away, fidgets, shifts his weight, huffs, parts his lips like he wants to sigh but catches himself last second) and that has a lot to do with moonjo being more integrated into his surroundings and more respected by the people he mingles with while jongwoo is mostly looked down at and patronised which makes him more on edge and spiteful. in terms of speaking, moonjo is just generally much more refined; could be due to his profession or his upbringing. while jongwoo is angry asf which makes him more vulgar and wayyy less restrained. moonjo's more put together, he thinks before he speaks while jongwoo is messier(?), so maybe he hesitates maybe his anger and frustration bleed into his sentences and make him stammer a bit. also like, it depends on whether youre writing canon fics or post canon because maybe (just an opinion) jongwoo would be more unfiltered post canon and says everything thats on his mind while canon jongwoo stays quiet and thinkw it/fantasises about saying it. thats all just my perception of them btw. i just like the idea of jongwoo being better at writing than speaking.

for them together, i think some back and forth is in character? moonjo's patience — because he never struck me as someone who forces jongwoo's hand or pressures him into anything — and jongwoo's inner turmoil that makes him fierce and mean. because canonically, jongwoo did tend to victimise himself a lot; it only makes sense that he'd blame his own feelings on everyone but himself. so yk if youre writing a lot of monologue and introspection you can have jongwoo's unreliability sneak in and have him blame his feelings and circumstances on other people while moonjo either supports him or smugly counters him. i think both options are viable hes a menace.

i dont know if any of this makes sense its 3am and idk how to put my thoughts into words😭😭 but good luck with writing and as long as you have fun and are content with what you write it doesnt really matter:))

I LOVED THE CHEATING STORYLINE (ACTUALLY)

First, a little bit about me: I am a polyamorous bisexual writer with queer liberation ideals. This is just so that you (beautifull reader that took the time to read this) understands where I am coming from.

So let's recapitulate:

Carlos and Ashlyn plus all of the wildcats except for Big Red and Seb leave for camp, leaving the two boys to spend a lot time together were they grow closer and their relationship understandably strengthens.

So, we end up with two boys that are missing their romantic partners and all the affection their romantic partners can give them. They decide to go see a Harry Styles movie (whyyy?? harry styles- it should have been better Fire Island, anyways). And in the darkness of the cinema Seb reaches for Big Red's nachos, and Big Red for Seb's popcorn. Hands brush, it reminds them of the romantic affection they've been missing, but it isn't enough so they kiss.

And kisses CAN be platonic. Nothing happens, except that Big Red discovers he's bisexual.

Their romantic partners return for camp. They have to tell them about the KISS because if they don't say anything it would be cheating, but Big Red is going to Cairo (for some weird reason). Seb, well there are some rumours about Carlos cheating, which Seb isn't bother by, in his mind he did the same.

He found out does rumours aren't real. Carlos didn't cheat unlike him. The guilt consumes him, he's a coward so he runs from his problems. Seb ignores Carlos for the rest of the summer and two months after that (if they start in the 1st of september, idk how it works).

Seb tells Carlos about the kiss, but it comes out all wrong. Now its too late for the kiss to really being nothing, Seb ignore carlos for 2 months-ish. Plus he says he cheated, which really what is CHEATING?

Is it kissing someone? Is it having sex with someone? Is it entering a romantic relationship with someone? Is it entering a sexual relationship with someone? Is it having feelings for someone?

Carlos & Seb never defined what is cheating for them, and the way Seb says it, it could be anything of the above.

PLUS cheating involves in some way getting tired of the other person and wanting to look for something new. Which Carlos internalizes, but is definetly not how Seb feels about him.

Big Red comes back from Egypt, the first thing he does (after yk doing all the things you do for a trip) is go find Ashlyn and explain himself, and apologize (sort of). Because how he sees it, it wasn't cheating because for him platonic kisses aren't cheating and he still loves Ashlyn, for Ash is a bit different because she doesn't know what cheating is for her, and they also never established what cheating was for each other.

But is fine because Big Red came to her with the truth AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (I'm looking at you Sebastian). Plus they both knew their relationship was reaching an end.

Reminded by Ashlyn, Big Red goes to Carlos to explain the situation, but is too late Seb already ruin it. It was too late, the wording was not the best ("Do you know who was the guy that Seb cheated with?" / "Me". Like, damn). And again CHEATING implies the person that cheats getting bored with their partner and disregarding their feelings.

So yeah, Carlos is feeling bad. Because all this time it had been Seb who had giving Carlos the side eye for the possibility he might cheated with boys on trips to México or Camp, etc. Carlos, who has had to manage the effects of this insecurity of Seb's, then has that same insecuirty made real by the same person that already feels it.

Therefore, a very shitty situation. Because again Seb saying "I cheated on you" is very different from "I kiss Big Red, it didn't mean anything".

And as we know it was all that implied cheating that affected Carlos, not really the kiss on itself. So in true Seblos fasion, he needs a song to be reminded of how much Seb trully loves him, how much he values him.

And we finally get the Seblos (frankie & joe) duet I've been waiting.

Seb finally gets a chance to do things right, explain himself and Red, and assuage any insecurities Carlos might have.

The End.

Which, wow, it was a very convoluted storyline, just type it down, now, I can see how long it was.

So for my recap of it, you can see that I really don't see Seb and Big Red as cheating, because again it was a PLATONIC kiss. That being said, Seblos and Redlyn should have talk about what is cheating for them, and is platonic kisses are part of it, well that changes things a little bit. But yeah. For me what Seb & Big Red did wasn't cheating.

Now lets get into what Seb and Big Red did wrong.

Big Red, you did things very good actually, just don't try to act so proud of it "my coming-out origin story" to your girlfriend? Dude, a bit more tact next time.

Seb, Seb, sweet, sweet, Seb. Do you even know your boyfriend? You did everything wrong. You IGNORED Carlos, a person which craves attention, you make him feel your own guilt about cheating even when he didn't, and make him feel like he did something wrong in the relationship, when you thought it was you who did the wrong thing.

And then, instead of explaining what ACTUALLY happened, you say it in the way that will be MISINTERPRETED and cause a lot of insecurity, insecurity which you HAVE/HAD by the way.

Like I know you aren't good at talking things out loud, but this is a whole other level.

Now, why do I love the storyline? As I declared in the title of this post.

Well 1st CARLOS. I love how this plot allows us to go in deeper with Carlos' insecurities, and even a throwaway line of the exuberant body standards of/in the gay community.

It also gave us a Carlos that fought for Seb, when he wasn't talking to him. Like in S2, he would have just give him the cold shoulder too, called it a day, and if they never talk again, well it would be more self-pity to drown himself into.

It gave us Miss Jenn & Carlos bonding over their broken hearts, Ashlyn & Carlos moments talking about their partners (and queerness), Carlos & Kourtney caring for each other.

It gave us a freaking Seblos duet (though I know we could've get this any other way).

2nd Seb. Like I know that I have been to harsh on him, and that's because he messed up. And I LOVE that about him.

Like Sebastian has always been this perfect character ("Sweet Perfect Innocent Seb" as Carlos call him), but now we know it isn't always easy to be sweet, perfect, and innocent.

And he messed up in a way that was actually in line with his character, like he is definitely the person that drags out the problem until he can't ignore it (Points to S2), and doesn't want to deal with it.

Carlos messes up a lot, but now we find out that Seb does too.

3rd Big Red. I love his outlook in this whole situation. How he looks back at the moment and doesn't think "I cheated on my girlfriend" but rather "Wow, cool bi awakening". Because again, he wasn't into Seb, it was a platonic kiss, all it did for him was making him realized that he likes kissing boys, and boys in general as well as girls.

Which brings me to the fact that we finally got to know Big Red's bi awakening. Is it controversial? Yes. Does it perpetuates stereotypes? Depending on how you look at it, because although Big Red doesn't look at it as cheating, Ashlyn has more mix feeling about it, and the guy he kissed definetly thinks they cheated.

4th, it was a freaking queer storyline. Like normally I hate cheating as a way to cause more drama into a relationship, plus being the reason the character break up. But the way HSMTMTS queered it all the way.

Like I definitely can SEE this happening on a queer friendship group irl. Like the Redlyn break-up is the queerest scene on the show ever, Big Red's whole different out look on the situation, Carlos' insecurities about why Seb cheated, how Seb reacts to the whole thing, and the uses Halloween to try an fix it. The fact that it was a platonic kiss, which both parties know didn't meant they were into the other person, but that they just like to kiss.

Very, very queer my friend.

Lastly, I have mostly been talking about it from my own interpretation and my feelings about it. But I want to talk about how I saw it was received.

And that was, not so good.

Which I do and don't understand at the same time. On the one side, I am in part of the crow that says that relationships don't need to have drama to be interesting. Especially, when the only drama mainstream authors can think about is, cheating, fear of being cheated on, and jelousy. Like very boring my friend.

Then there's the whole "Bisexual Stereotipe" in the room, which true (most people don't even care about Bi men) is not the best. However, I want to ask, why are we so insistan on looking good? Why do we crave acceptance so much?

If a may I would like to bring attention to this next excerpt from Bi Notes from a Bisexual Revolution by Shiri Esner:

The idea of unfaithfulness also brings into light the metaphor of the bisexual as traitor (one of my personal favorites). The dictionary defines

treason as “a betrayal of trust,” or as “an attempt to overthrow the government . . . or to kill . . . the sovereign,” a definition that betrays, if you will, bisexuality’s function as an agitator. We can think about bisexuality as betrayal of the trust imposed on us by power structures, as well as embodying an attempt to overthrow or “kill” hegemonic order. We can then use this as a gateway to betraying monogamy, patriarchy, governments, countries, and wars, betraying the “LGBT” (meaning, the GGGG) movement, for promoting the assimilation of our communities and cooperating with oppressive structures. We can be traitors to anything that confines us, and to anything that stands in our way: all power structures, all oppression.

Which actually brings me to the last idea of why I think people are reacting badly to the storyline, we are not used to see queer people mess up in media. With this I mean that we are either demonized or made into paragons.

Let me pick another quote from Will Williams, amazing creator of Valence a super duper queer Urban Fantasy Podcast:

So like, there’s this — there’s this idea of “bad representation”, of showing queer people in a negative light as complex and fucked up characters. [...] There’s this idea that showing queer people like this gives cishet people more reasons to hate us.

And I understand that. I absolutely do. [...] But where I am right now, my philosophy is, cishet people will always hate us. They’ll always find reasons to think that we’re abhorrent even if we’re the most morally upright person in their eyes, regardless of being queer. [...]

I don’t — I — because I’m a mess, and because I’m a queer person, and because I have huge monumental flaws as a person, I really struggle to feel represented by most things [...] So when I think of the media that matters to me, and makes me feel seen, and gives me catharsis, and makes me feel represented as specifically a queer person, I always think of really fucked up, messed up queer characters hat other people might point to and be like, this is bad representation. I just don’t think that there’s any such thing as good representation.

To conclude, I love the cheating storyline. Because in my book it wasn't actually cheating, we've got to explore the characters even more- let them mess up, and it was queer as fuck.

I was so happy she felt so good i got want i wanted. I felt her become tight around me so i knew she was there. I trust and i felt it to. My trust became sloppy and our noises fill the room. I was so desperate and i closed my eyes. But i didn't expect to see what i saw. We were in a lab... i saw y/n she was looking at me. I took her with me i saw walls im telling her something.

N: please remeber me im next to go i will not see but i will wait y/n i love you so much and then i kissed her.

And went back to reality. I saw the position we were in and y/n her closed eyes. She said my name and i feel her loseing up. And ride our highs out. I walked over to to my hammock and layd us down and wrapped my arm around her. We were catching our breathes when she askes me "did you saw it to?" She ask a litte out of breath. I did love, i did... we loved.. well i loved you before this all." I said because i didn't heard her say it back.

"Newt i loved you to im so happy i remebered we loved eachother before and we always will."

" i promise as long as i will live"

and with that said you both fell a sleep in eachother arms.

-god hes only 17, I think we forgot how young these characters are, they really are just kids being pushed into this horrible situation god,,,

-“His was a life without substance, and now it would end.” God and here we see Rowan’s iconic self deprecating “emo” moments, people make fun of these scenes a lot but I fucking love em, it really contrasts Rowan and Citra. Citra has people who love and care about her, Rowan doesn’t, he knows that (in this moment) if he died no one would really care or remember him, so when he finds Citra, someone who does care about him and would care if he died, he clings to it. I mean when you’re that neglected and want SOMEONE to care even a little about you, wouldn’t you do the same thing?

-He already wants to change things!! And he will!! He will change a lot, though not as much as his girlfriend!!

i propose an idea: imagine a m!adeptus reader who is based off of krios khrysomallos, otherwise known as the golden-fleeced ram.

reader was just as close with xiao as the yaksha's were. rarely were the two seen apart, as they found comfort in each other's presence.

reader's adeptibeast form was a large ram with a golden coat of wool & large, curled ram horns. while in human form, he kept his horns, ram ears & tiny tail. his fleece was said to heal whoever touched it, even capable of bringing them back from the brink of death. naturally, an adeptus with this kind of power would be beneficial for a war such as the archon war, which the reader assisted morax in.

at the very end of the war, reader was exhausted. he wanted to go close his eyes & drift off into a long, well-deserved slumber, but he couldn't — not yet. he needed to make sure xiao was okay! after all, morax had essentially taken him under his wing &, by extension, that meant the reader considered him an acquaintance & potential friend. but as he was making his way over to xiao, the corners of his vision began to grow dark. his consciousness slipped away as did his strength to stay upright, the last memory of that moment being morax calling out his name in concern.

the golden-fleeced ram was said to of entered a comatose state, though he woke up a couple months following the war. during these few months, reader was placed in a sereniteapot for the time being, as it was probably the safest space for him. morax would visit frequently & xiao would accompany him. one of the times xiao visited, however, he damn near had a heart attack when reader abruptly rose from the bed he was resting in.

now, we know xiao is very hesitant when it comes to getting close to others. his karmic debt caused a wall to form between himself & the concept of social interaction. the reader understood this (to an extent), but assured xiao that his karmic debt wouldn't harm him. in fact, xiao would come to notice how the pain he felt tended to subside when he was in the presence of the reader. because of this, the two ended up spending more & more time in each other's presence, even if little words were shared. it was no surprise that the two ended up feeling more than just platonic affection for one another.

THIS IS KINDA LIKE.. A VERY SHORT VERSION OF WHAT I HAD IN MIND BUT... yeah. i have lots of headcanons for this too, just never had the courage to talk about it on this app 💀

Okay I have a question for you re Brian/Michael. Now I'm no huge fan of Michael's mostly because I just find him boring overall as a character. His personality traits aren't something I enjoy in my faves he's just meh.. each to their own nothing to do with Brian at all. Michael's just screams safety and vanilla to me whereas Brian/Justin are excitement and danger yk.

Whilst I don't hate Michael as some people do or completely despise his friendship with Brian. I can see why they're friends and I understand the importance of them in each others lives - that's not to say I enjoy it. There are aspects on both sides I find irritating and make me roll my eyes.

But the one thing I've never been able to understand are the Brian/Michael shippers. Like what do these people find appealing about shipping these two romantically. How does it scream reciprocal to them? I mean on both sides they would absolutely be the worst couple purely from a non biased shipping stand point just no...

Could you ever see them as an actual couple to root for?

Oh dear GOD no to the couple thing! I absolutely could not.

To backtrack a bit: no worries about not liking him--to each their own! To that extent, I imagine something appeals to people about their dynamic. If it appeals to some, like, you do you boo I don't care, have fun. From my perspective, though, there was 0 way to make a Michael/Brian romance work from a storytelling or character perspective.

But I do think the fact that the original British show does have their counterparts (Stuart and Vince? was that his name?) getting together might have created the expectation. But ultimately, Stuart and Brian, Vince and Michael, and especially Nathan and Justin were very different characters. Also, while the UK version is very well-done, its themes are much less idealistic than the US version, and it's a bit more realism-based in terms of tone.

I honestly don't think Michael was ever in love with Brian so much as he was in love with the idea of Brian. Brian was this... idea of safety and childhood to Michael, a hero. Of course, this is ironic because Brian and safety do not fit together lol (well. Besides condoms). Essentially, it's a paradox (and a complex one, which is why I love Michael actually--I loooove complexity!):

Michael truly loves, but is not in love, with actual Brian as he is, flaws and all. Michael wants this Brian around forever as his BFF.

Michael is in love with an ideal romantic image of Brian that does not exist and which he knows damn well does not exist. But:

Michael genuinely, from season 1 episode 2, states that he does not want Brian to change. So if Brian changes to Ideal!Brian, Michael wouldn't actually have the person he actually loves anymore.

Hence, it's impossible for Michael and Brian to ever end up together. Michael was pursuing what he knew he could never have. He does this partially to avoid having to grow up himself and partially out of low self-esteem (not believing he deserved to be loved back).

Michael's relationship with Brian is a good foil with Justin and Brian's, because Justin's is more like:

Justin is in love with Brian, but needs to learn who Brian is and what loving Brian means. It doesn't mean loving Ideal!Brian.

Justin knows his own worth--to an extent--and thereby is able to push Brian to grow into a better version of himself while still accepting flawed Brian.

But, demonstrating that Justin is actually in love with real!Brian, flaws and all, Justin insists in the end that he doesn't want Brian to entirely give up his vices for him. The Brian he loves and the Brian he wants around are the same.

Of course, in the end the Brian Michael loves and wants around are the same too, it's just not romantic. While Michael links Brian to childhood, Justin links Brian to growing up (losing his virginity, etc.) In a story that is essentially about Brian's Peter Pan Syndrome, that's significant.

Anyways, that's some convoluted rambling that I'm not sure if I conveyed well, but yeah. That's why I think they had 0 chance of every working together.

The only scene i wanted to change was this scene with Day's friend/badminton partner because let's be real thai series can't make good jealousy plots (yet?). But your remark about wanting to see Mork falling in love made me think so hard about it i think i had a whole ted talk in my head uvuctxj

So as we all know the stereotypical division of roles is common inThai dramas (I'm talking about the role of the one who initiates and the role of the one who accepts). I would say that puentalay are better in this regard but it still feels like Jimmy is the initiator in their pair. I think it's normal for Thai culture (he's older, he's more experienced, he even has more acting experience, he's a doctor, which drives everyone crazy). And the dynamic of the daymork is similar, only in my opinion, they are more open. Puen and Talay both seemed to be hiding some part of themselves for different reasons. I got the impression that Mork and Day wouldn't be like that. it will be easy for them to fall in love with each other. But damn, I wish I could see the reverse dynamics.... those rare moments when Sea led and Jimmy played shyness were good. and I understand that Mork is a big flirt, but if Aof made him more shy and yk besotted after realizing his feelings for Day, it would be just amazing. So yes, i demand scenes of Mork visibly being affected by Day. Let the man be smitten and blushing and kicking his feet and smiling widely because of Day

you know.. i do wonder if the industry expects us to perceive jimmy's characters as the active pursuers just because he's older than sea, but i've actually been thinking that, at least in vice versa, the narrative doesn't really back this up. i guess this can be up for interpretation, but while there is a slight power differential in puentalay because talay is usually more shy and puen more 'aggressive', i feel like there's no established seme/uke dynamic between them, which is yet another reason why i love them so much (and please notice that im using 'seme' and 'uke' just because BL has its roots in yaoi and those terms carry a whole lot of specific characteristics that have defined BL pairings for a long time too)

it's true that puen is the one to pursue the relationship more, but the relationship actually happens only on talay's 'conditions': only when talay admits to like him back puen kisses him again, only when talay tells puen that he has opened his heart to him a long time ago they officially become boyfriends. there are also moments where talay IS the more 'aggressive' one, either consciously (when he makes puen shy in ep 4) or unconsciously (when he manhandles puen out of tess' shirt in ep 7), and this versatility in their relationship is also displayed by the way they easily exchange roles in some tropes: for example, we see puen feeding talay very often, but we also see talay feeding puen in a couple of occasions, and similarly we have both puen laying his head on talay's lap AND talay laying his head on puen's lap

all this to say that i actually think (and hope) we're probably gonna have a similar situation with morkday, because while mork definitely seems like a big flirt and day is visibly affected by it, in the trailer day is actually the one we see initiating a kiss BUT NOT SEEING MORK REACTION IS KILLING ME. so i guess this is why i would have loved to see mork being affected by day as well, because they have the potential to have the same versatility as puentalay while also having day being the more 'aggressive' one when it comes to pursue an actual relationship!!!
