He stares at you as you lie below him, equally sweaty, your neck and shoulders are littered with hickeys and bite marks, and you’re on the verge of passing out. The rims of your eyes are red, and your face is moist with tears. Your lip is swollen from Richard’s teeth digging into them, nearly tearing them off in his fervour. 

You look like you’re about to die. 

He looks more alive than he ever has before. 

Richard looks like he wants to do it again. 

Yet his eyes are filled with fear, and you want to laugh, but your throat is crying out in pain.

“You’ve ruined me.”

when A is feverish and has chills in an overly air-conditioned office during the summer, so they just sit and shiver at their desk, trying to keep warm by clutching a hot cup of tea in their frozen fingers.

their desk is right under the vent, so they keep a cardigan wrapped around their shoulders for warmth and to try and shield them from the bitterly cold draft. even so, they tremble from head to toe, teeth chattering so loudly that their next door desk mate can hear them.

they take their lunch break outside and sit in their sun-warmed car to thaw their chilled bones, but it only makes the office feel that much colder and more miserable when they have to come back inside.

after a while, their desk mate pops their head over the cubicle and begs A to just go home. A, who feels awful, promptly bursts into tears.

goal for next week is to try and go for a walk every WFH/weekend day, and if the weather turns again then exercise bike instead. also to remember to take my vitamins every day bc once again I am belatedly realizing that the Family Anemia is probably contributing to my lethargy and general bad vibes the past few weeks.

#also i want to start going for a walk on my lunch break since the sidewalks are clearer/not as puddle-y anymore #went for a walk down to the coffee shop with my coworker and she pointed out MULTIPLE FRENCH BAKERIES i didn't know existed #i work in a really cool part of town but i just never go out an experience the cool things lol. must remedy that #i think my general goals for this spring/summer are to a) get out more instead of just thinking about things i want to do #and b) do things that actually make me feel better regardless of how much i just want to sit on the couch #that sounds vague but it encompasses a whole lot of stuff lol. i need to get better about choosing long term satisfaction over #instant gratification and all that stuff #also need to remember to take my vitamins LOL

#well I can no longer tease Keith for being/looking obliviously in love with his bff #I think I’ve mentioned before that a big part of the reason I’m going to Taiwan this summer #is b/c my best friend from LSE lives there #we met the first week of university and it all just went from there #(rare for both of us b/c we’re introverted) #anyway #after I moved to the US for grad school #and she moved back to Taiwan to work for a bit and figure out what she wanted to do her MA in #we started sending each other care packages #(before this we used to bring each other stuff back from home during breaks ) #((we also meet on zoom every week for a few hours to talk + watch movies)) #they’re pretty good sized boxes with (mostly) food and also books and weird t-shirts/clothes and all of that kind of stuff #we’re quite good at this point at getting stuff the other will like #(I always trawl Trader Joe’s for interesting things I think she’ll enjoy. she got me 5 different flavors of salted plum from an indie #company in Taipei because she knows I love ume) #we always put notes for each other in the boxes too #I send hers to her parents house because it’s easier to have packages shipped to there than in her small flat share in Taipei #and her mom (with her permission) sometimes opens them and takes out something for herself to try #what I didn’t know until today #is that her mom also takes out the notes to put on her desk so they don’t get lost #and she’s been hinting to my friend more and more over the past 2 years that it’s okay if she’s ‘not into boys’ and her parents will support #her no matter who she dates (which is very sweet) #now I’m coming in less than a week #and when my friend was visiting home this weekend she took her aside and told her #that she didn’t have to introduce me as her friend and she could openly say I’m her partner of 2+ years #which (again) would be very sweet #if I were actually her girlfriend #I’m not #and I’m having dinner with her parents at some point in the next few weeks #my life is a bad sitcom
