Imagine Reader having to introduce Lucifer to her family & friends.

How would one even go about trying to obscure the fact that he’s really The Devil?

Because telling anyone straight up would likely make them freak out, or call you crazy.

Oooh, so I kinda of hinted at Reader not being close to her family at all. It aided her status as an isolated recluse/someone in over her head, but I do like the idea of her trying to get in touch with them for Charlie and Lucifer’s sake. If only because Charlie deserves a big family and Reader wants Lucifer to feel loved by as many people as possible (bc being exiled from Heaven/his home def had lasting impact on our Short King no question).

This is where Reader is based a little more on myself, bc my family and I are pretty estranged barring a few ppl. Being around them is anxiety-inducing — so I picture Reader feeling the same way and while she wants to give her real little family a chance to bond with them, she still leans on Luci. And she’s anxious about everything — “are you sure you don’t mind meeting them? They can be a little judgemental. Are you sure the glamor won’t hurt Charlie? Will it hurt you??��

The family reunion is an awkward affair, with you getting frustrated enough by your family being sucky that you almost want to tell them that your fiancée is the real, actual Devil and have him smite them to prove it, but at least Charlie is such a jolly little baby that she steals the show and makes things bearable :)

no offense but i think it’s disgusting of the writers to say “hey, let’s make a gay character in love with his best friend, but then that same gay character gets kidnapped as a child because a random girl comes out of nowhere and opens a gate to an alternate dimension. then the girl meets the best friend of the boy who got kidnapped, which results in them eventually starting a romance. oh but wait! it gets worse. let’s make the boy and girl’s relationship horrible and show that they don’t work together as a couple at all because they barely communicate, have nothing in common, don’t understand each other and rushed into romance at 12 years old. we’ll eventually make them close to breaking up but then use the traumatised gay kid as a plot device to force them back together while he continues suffering all alone after sacrificing his own feelings for his best friend who he loves more than anything. the straight couple who don’t even understand each other get to be stuck together, while the gay kid suffers as always. sounds about right!”

like it's just horrible replacing will with el in his own story and taking the most important person away from him while constantly rubbing it in his face and forcing him to watch mike and el together. their entire relationship is a slap in the face to will and it’s just insulting

I wasn’t here for season 3 so maybe I just missed the conversation, but did we talk about how weirdly patriotic that season was?

Like Stranger Things is always set over just a couple of days, usually coinciding with a major holiday (Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc). So maybe they just chose the 4th of July because it’s the biggest summer holiday, but that combined with the rest of their choices makes it strange.

Up until now, the American government has been the enemy and now the Russians show up to be Unequivocally Evil and Worse. Also this season has the most cohesive color theme of any ST season and it’s red, white, and blue. I’m not an expert, but there must be some kind of filter or tint or whatever over the whole season to make it that vibrant, right?

It’s just such a strange season.

I know some of the Doctor Who books are written before a series airs so I don’t expect them to get the characterization entirely right but I just read a sentence in an officially licensed book that went “It was not in the Doctor’s nature to run away.” … that’s like the whole conceit of the show and has been since the first episode. I try not to be too nit-picky and I know the main audience for these is children but come on, they deserve better.
