(Dice rolling it is @phoebe-of-ivalice! Pulling up my dnd VTT for the 1d40... that's 22. (How long can your oc stay focused on one task before they get bored? Do they constantly have to switch things up or do they hyperfocus? What sort of things is it the opposite for?) And for the OC, a d8 is tossed... getting a 2! So the Archeologist is gonna shine.)

The Archeologist has been around for a very, very long time. In matter of form she has existed since the fall of Allag, so she has experienced much and more throughout her history. Now, her past 'lives' each had their own personality, so she views the events that she experienced while them as events to be read about in a book in a sense. They happened to someone else. Who knows how she would react. And she enjoys that mystery.

But, since she has been around for so long, she has great trouble staying on one task for too terribly wrong. She can see the patterns and paths, so the task that keeps her entertained are the ones that keep her guessing. She has to continuously switch up what she is doing. One day she is meddling in the affairs of a nation, the next she is delving deep into a forgotten ruin for... something, she doesn't know when she starts!

If it is something that is interesting to her and keeps her guessing, she will follow its trail to the very end, essentially hyperfocusing on the situation. But if it is dull and tedious, she can't wait to move on to something else. A real been there, done that mentality. (I will admit it does make her hard to write sometimes! I just have to keep her inspiration in mind and how that character would react to keep her from just yawning and leaving the situation.)

A headcanon prompted by @anyawen (any [00Q], #37. The tender ache when you press against a bruise)

Q has always been the sort to poke at things better left alone. (He wouldn’t exactly be very good at his job if he wasn’t.)

He’d pushed schoolmates and friends as a child, making pointed observations that he later learned would be more polite to keep to himself. He’d questioned teachers relentlessly when he felt they weren’t being clear, or when things simply didn’t make sense, and only felt vindicated when he wound up in trouble for it. He’d learned to push whatever technology he got his hands on past its limits, learned how to slip past boundaries he was never meant to pass (he feels less vindicated getting in trouble for that, but it earns him his job in the end, so it all turns out alright).

One habit in particular that his mother had despaired of was his tendency to poke at bruises as they healed – testing the give of the flesh as it colored from black and purple to green and yellow, feeling the way the ache would lessen over time when he tapped around the edges.

It’s a habit he never quite grows out of, and one he doesn’t feel inclined to break when Bond goes out on missions, and it feels as though the shape of his mouth and the dots of his fingertips bruised into Q’s skin are the only thing he’s left with. The ache isn’t a fascination, then, but a reminder, and a keepsake to hold onto until Bond returns.

#I get tired of people trying to explain what lens I should view the world through; what way I could think that would make everything better #forgive me but I don't care; I do what I do and I do what I can and you don't see the work I do under the hood #I don't want advice on self validation or whatever; I want... I want someone to hold a mirror up so I can actually see myself #by which I mean I want input on how I'm doing; if it's good enough; if it's worth anything; if anything I make is good #everyone things I'm nice; everyone has always thought I'm nice #but given nice leaves me profoundly isolated I don't think I care #not to mention in my opinion what nice in this instance means is that I'm capable of listening #it's mostly that I have manners rather than some quality about me #I'm well behaved and polite and can listen; and that's perceived as nice or even sweet #and it's not like I'm offended by people seeing me that way; but maybe you can get why... I can't do anything with that information #but if I'm doing enough... if I provide any value to the world... Gosh. Odette is not very good at bragging about herself. She’s much better - and more comfortable - bragging about her friends.

However, she is quite proud of her botany skill. Particularly with flowers! She can coax ‘nearly’ dead plants back to bloom and is nearly unmatched in her ability to cross-pollinate for unique colors.

When you reach enough friendship hearts she makes a flower just for you! She picks the flower based on the language of flowers and cross-pollinates for a color she associates with the friend it's for.

She used to give them as gifts until she realized she was handing out chores.

Her garden is a riot of blossoms and, tucked within it is a small but lovingly tended herb garden. She doesn’t cook, but she is a budding alchemist.

Ashley!! Curious to know what you think of Electric Touch and also what the wider FOB fandom thinks of it :)

I am entirely obsessed!! I've been trying to equally listen to the entire album, and I've failed spectacularly lol. Electric Touch is easily my most listened to on the whole album.

I think Taylor and Patrick's voices really suit each other! The bridge drives me crazy!! They complement each other so well!! Plus even beyond the vocals I like the lyrics!! "All I know is this could either break my heart or bring me back to life" is a feeling I can totally understand despite never being in a relationship.

Obviously I'm biased toward both parties, but I can safely say this song did not disappoint me! It's making me want a full collaboration between Fall Out Boy (the whole band) and Taylor even more than I already did. In the meantime, I'm happy to enjoy Electric Touch!!

I've lowkey been avoiding seeking out opinions from the wider FOB fandom. The Swemos (Swiftie emos) seem really excited about it! Like some people want it to play at Emo Nite events even. I've seen a couple older FOB fans say they like it. Some FOB fans are upset that Electric Touch is FOB's top song on Spotify rn, but I think they should have anticipated this. Also I know some people complained that the song is too pop, but again I don't know why they would expect otherwise. So long story short, I'm not sure what the consensus is or if there is a consensus! It would hurt my heart a little bit too much to see FOB fans trashing Taylor or vice versa.
