Yandere Therapist Drabble
Male Yandere Therapist x Gender Neutral Patient CW: Dubcon, abuse of authority, underwear sniffing, stalking, gaslighting, manipulation, isolation, general yandere behavior (Just a list of ideas I had for a yandere therapist, but nothing I wanted to write a full fic about)
-Yandere therapist that quickly falls head over heels in love with you.
-Knows it's wrong and totally unethical, but can't fight it anymore.
-You're so broken but still so trusting and desperate for love. It's too cute.
-Waves the fee because he doesn't want you to go with a cheaper therapist but says he "just wants to help you" and "doesn't care about money."
-Slowly isolates you, cutting you off from friends and family under the guise of professional advice.
"That's toxic behavior you need to get away from that person."
"You're talking to them too much, be a little more independent."
"Your boyfriend seems clingy and codependent, I really think breaking it off is what's best for both of you."
-Once you have fewer people around he begins stalking you.
-If you spot him in too many stores or other places that you are at and get suspicious he gaslights you.
-Breaks in when he knows you'll be away to get some trinkets to remember you when you're not in sessions.
-Keeps a pair of your underwear to sniff while he jerks off between appointments.
-Slowly conditions you to believe he is the only person you can trust and confide in.
-Starts using hypnosis so he knows best how to manipulate you.
-Uses hypnosis to begin to plant attraction and submission to him into your subconscious.
-Also gets you acclimated to his touch while you're hypnotized by groping, fondling, and kissing you.
-Very hard for him not to go all the way, he is extremely tempted to do so, but wants you to be fully aware when he takes you, wants it to be romantic.
-You find yourself slowly falling for him, thinking about him more and more until it is almost overwhelming. But you remind yourself how inappropriate it is.
-He takes things slow and is very patient. Never doing anything to risk the progress he has made.
-When it gets to the point that you can't contain your feelings anymore that's when he knows he can progress further.
-Once he gets you to that point he is never letting go and the best part for him is that you think being romantically involved was all your idea.

WIP excerpt for tabetharasa behind the cut; alpha Jazz, a dark alley, and a very pretty omega. ( + non-chrono link for mobile users )
Jazz has no idea why Red Hood thinks he smells anything but delicious, but there’s a very reckless and dubiously-ethical part of her that would be willing to prove it to him. Not that she would, obviously, because that would be, again, incredibly unethical and highly inappropriate and also a total dick move.
She just could, that’s all. Just if it came up or whatever.
“Well, it’s not,” she says, mildly put out by whatever’s going on here, and Red Hood growls. His scent blockers continue to be useless. Just–absolutely useless, yes.
Ancients, he smells so good. What is she even supposed to do about how good this omega smells?
Maybe offer to walk him home, or at least offer him her jacket so he has enough alpha scent on him that no one bothers him on his way back to his den. Although he’s a crime lord–or a vigilante? one or the other, whatever–who’s built like a truck, so that probably isn’t really a concern, she supposes.
Then again, some people seriously do have no sense of decorum.
Or survival instincts.
“Shut the fuck up!” Red Hood snaps. Jazz frowns. That seems like a disproportionate amount of anger in his tone. Maybe he's sensitive about his pheromones. Well, if people have been telling him he smells like death . . .
Though “death” doesn't necessarily smell bad, in Jazz's opinion.
Admittedly, that's a liminal's opinion and besides the point anyway. But still.
“Alright,” she says. “But can you get to your den safely? Or . . . somewhere you can den down, anyway, I don't know. I assume you have a headquarters or a safehouse or two, something like that. Or at least can afford a heat hotel or know a decent clinic.”
Red Hood hisses at her. It crackles through his modulator, but the sound of it still makes her jeans a little . . . uncomfortable, she'll just say. Sue her, she likes omegas with a bite to them. Johnny 13 definitely didn't win her over by being the sweet and polite type; he won her over by being a blunt asshole in a leather jacket who'd convinced her that he was a sincere and straight-up person.
She wonders how “sincere” the average Gotham crime boss really is, but it’s a little difficult to concentrate on that question with the scent of old books and burning cedar filling up her nose. And also that note of lilac. That note of lilac is a problem.
A serious problem.
“I realize heat drop is probably imminent and you must be uncomfortable, but it’s a valid concern on my part, given your condition,” she says, which normally she’d make sound politely disapproving but really can’t make sound any kind of disapproving right now. Again: the lilac. “So can you?”
“Fuck makes you think I'd let you anywhere near my den?” Red Hood snarls. Jazz blinks; tilts her head.
“Nothing,” she says. “What makes you think I was asking to go anywhere near it?”
Red Hood–stalls, briefly. Jazz tries to be polite about how incredibly obvious a tell that statement was.
Flattering, but incredibly obvious.
“I mean, I'd be happy to escort you if you’d like,” she says. “Or lend you my scent, if you need it. But I'm not trying to presume anything.”
“Fuck off,” Red Hood snarls. “Nobody escorts an omega like me.”
“Do you think maybe you have some self-esteem issues?” Jazz asks. Heat is almost definitely making him a bit more volatile and emotional than normal, considering the kinds of things he’s been saying to her, but it still seems like a valid question. Being on their cycle doesn’t make people different people; just makes it a bit harder for them to censor and control themselves.
Or a lot harder, sometimes.
Judging by how strong Red Hood’s pheromones smell right now . . .
Well, he might be having a harder time than he’s used to having, so far as “controlling himself” goes.
Jazz certainly is, all inappropriate knotheaded puns aside.
Do Poison Ivy’s pollens make cycles hit harder, actually? Or does the suddenness of the effect disorient or throw people off, maybe?
Well, that’s a worrying thought, since Red Hood seems to be out here alone.
“‘Self-esteem issues’?” Red Hood repeats incredulously, his pheromones briefly sparking with bewilderment. Jazz decides not to press it, since he might be feeling a little vulnerable right now.
“Yes,” she says. “Is there someone you can call, if you don’t want an escort or to borrow my scent? I could wait with you until they show. No offense, just Park Row’s not a very nice neighborhood.”
Red Hood laughs.
“No fucking shit!” he says, spreading his arms. “It’s Crime Alley!”
“I know, sorry, I just keep accidentally calling it ‘Park Row’ in my head. Still new in town,” Jazz apologizes. She assumes a crime lord would prefer his territory be correctly referred to, anyway. Seems like a thing. She knows standard humans don’t actually have haunts–even most liminal ones don’t, including her–but sometimes she does . . . well, not forget, exactly, but just . . . expect them to anyway, she supposes?
She spent way too long in Amity, yes.
Even without Crime Alley being Red Hood’s actual haunt, though, it’s still disrespectful to call it the wrong name. It’s still his territory either way, and she imagines someone on their cycle especially wouldn’t appreciate the mistake.
“What is your damage?” Red Hood snarls, his voice modulator crackling threateningly as he visibly bristles, and Jazz catches notes of that electric and unexpected edge in his pheromones again. Still vaguely familiar, but still not quite what it seems like it should be. Just . . .
Really, if she didn’t know better . . . well, she’d think he was liminal. But that seems like a very unlikely coincidence for her first week in Gotham, so . . .
Then again, her life is her life.
It’s not really the time to be asking Red Hood about his levels of ecto exposure, though, and she’s pretty sure they’ve both got more important priorities right now.
“We don’t really have time to unpack all that, to be honest. You really do need to get home,” she says. “Or at least call someone to pick you up. If you go into heat drop alone in Crime Alley, I can’t imagine it’s going to end well.”
Red Hood hisses. That might’ve sounded like a threat, Jazz realizes belatedly.
“I didn’t mean it like that,” she says, apologetic again. “But it’s not safe, is it?”
“If anyone I don’t want near my ass tries to touch me, I’ll put a bullet up theirs,” Red Hood growls, low and crackling.
“That seems like a lot of trouble when you’re on your cycle, though,” Jazz says. He’d have a body to deal with, and maybe someone would call the cops–well, she supposes it is Crime Alley, so maybe not . . .? But it’d be self-defense anyway, and if he is a crime lord, maybe he has people for that.
Hm.
She really needs to get familiar with this area as soon as possible, yeah. And just Gotham in general, really. Every city has its own idiosyncrasies, but Gotham is its idiosyncrasies.
Well, so is Amity Park, of course.
“I think you belong in Arkham, lady,” Red Hood says. Jazz feels like a Gothamite should be more understanding of someone taking supervillain attack side effects and hostile heated-up crime lords in stride, but apparently not.
“Technically, you’re not wrong,” she says with a wry smile. She’d offer him a handshake, but that’s not really appropriate for an alpha to offer to an omega in heat. Especially not an unmated alpha, which Jazz very definitely is. “I start Monday. Jazz Fenton, psychiatric intern. At your service.”
Red Hood manages to very clearly stare at her without actually taking off the helmet. It's actually an impressive amount of expressiveness to get across, under the circumstances.
Or there could be a touch of liminal empathy happening, admittedly. That's possible too. Especially with another liminal involved.
Jazz briefly considers what knotting a liminal omega might actually be like if an empathy loop got established somewhere in the process, which is a lie, because what she’s actually imagining is picking up this liminal omega and showing him exactly how delicious she thinks he smells.
Definitely inappropriate.
“They will literally eat you alive,” Red Hood says.
“I mean, there’s a risk of it,” Jazz allows, because nothing is a perfect guarantee. It’s just not a very large risk. Comparatively, she means.
“You applied to Arkham on purpose, lady?” Red Hood says disbelievingly.
“Oh, no,” Jazz says, shaking her head. “They made me an offer. Somebody read my thesis and liked it, apparently.”
Well . . . “thought we should interview you for either a position or to have your file established for whenever the convictions start rolling in”, whichever. The interviewing psychiatrists had a range of reactions during her interview, she supposes is the best way to put it.
Jazz really doesn’t think it’s fair to classify her parents as actual supervillains, but an increasingly long list of professionals has, admittedly, not agreed with that assessment.
She can’t imagine what they would’ve thought if she’d told them about Danny, considering.
Well, it’s not her problem if someone else is going to be close-minded about things like that.
“I’m sorry, I’m really not trying to be pushy here, but are you sure you don’t want to call anyone? Or want my scent. Or . . . literally anything,” she says, gesturing a little awkwardly with her shopping bags. “I do get told my pheromones are pretty discouraging to unwanted attention, if that helps?”
“Sure they are,” Red Hood snorts. Jazz tries not to look disapproving, given his compromised state. That kind of thing can bother omegas in heat, she knows.
“That’s what people tell me,” is all she says. Obviously it’s not just the default parts of her scent that make it a strong deterrent, but as for the force of the emotions and claim she can put into it . . .
Well. She just hears it’s “discouraging” to other alphas pretty regularly, that’s all. And also some betas, depending on their sexuality. And, um . . . well, a little closer to “catnip”, for omegas, but . . .
“I’ll believe it when I smell it, knothead,” Red Hood snorts again. “Prove it.”
Jazz isn’t sure that’s a good idea, considering–again–his compromised state, but, well . . . he’s clearly a strong omega himself, and maybe she’s a little miffed by him just assuming she’s lying about something like that, that’s all. She knows plenty of alphas do lie about their pheromones or even lay on fake ones, but . . . well, it’s hard not to wonder if he just thinks she’s a lesser alpha because she’s female, or because of how she’s dressed or looks or speaks, or just because.
Her inner alpha doesn’t love the experience of one of the most gorgeous-smelling omegas she’s ever scented sneering at her worth as an alpha without even giving her a shot to prove it, either way.
“Are you sure?” she asks.

“general!” könig says urgently as he tries his best to catch up with the long strides of the brigadier general, ansgar meyer, who was trailing his way up ahead.
“if you give me a chance,” könig continued, “you will not regret it.”
“i’ve seen enough,” the general spoke, coming to a halt as he turned towards könig to assess him, “with constant movement like that do you seriously expect i’d award you into fifth platoon?” the general scoffed. könig shifted on his feet, not saying a word. not just because talking back to a general was completely unethical but because he physically couldn't.
the general gave him another look.
“you can’t seriously propose the idea to me that you’ll be an excellent sniper when i’d be able to see you from a mile away, hell, hear you even,” the general said as he shook his head. he didn't bother to wait for a response, he twisted around and walked away - leaving könig on his own.
you heard könig mumble something under his breath in german. you’ve heard him speak it multiple times, picking up a few phrases into your own vocabulary every time he’d slip a word or two out, which was generally when he was overwhelmed.
but unfortunately, you couldn’t quite pinpoint what he was saying this time.
you’d known könig since the both of you were very young. he didn’t exactly fit in, deemed to be ‘odd’ and ‘strange’ to the point that he was bullied for it. although he managed to form a somewhat stable friendship with you because of your interest in him, he would purposefully make sure he wasn’t ever spotted with you - simply to make sure that you wouldn’t fall victim to what he had to go through from his peers. and also because he always had a hunch that you’d feel embarrassed to be seen with him.
but the two of you weren’t kids anymore and you’d both learnt to do things together. he had told you about his wishes to join the german army, and to your own surprise you tagged along too. you had formed an indescribable form of attachment to him so joining him felt like the right thing to do.
you enjoyed it. although you didn’t know the first thing about combat…
you were placed in a unit specialised in training women and had caught a glimpse of him speaking to the general when you were on break.
you watched his large form retreat towards a safe house and decided to follow him in.
when you were inside you found him in a corner, slouches into a chair, holding what looked like a sniper hood in his hands. his legs were spread, elbows resting on his knees as he looked down at the hood in his hands.
he was too dazed to notice your presence as you walked over to him.
“könig,” you begin, “hey.”
he looked up at you almost immediately, as if your voice was the only thing that could manage to bring him out of his reverie. you noticed the way his muscles seemed to tense a bit.
“y/n,” he says, trying to push excitement into his voice. he lets out a little laugh, brushing himself off as he leans back in the chair and drops the hood on his lap, “sorry, didn’t see you there, flower.”
you had no idea where that nickname of his came from but you couldn’t ever deny the blush that rose to your cheeks every time he would use it on you.
“i saw you speaking with the general…” you trail off. not knowing if you should even bring it up.
“ah,” he says as his eyes instantly dim just a fragment. “so you saw that,” he confirms, to himself more or less. looking down at the hood in his hands, his fingers begin to tremble a little and you feel the urge to hold them until they stopped shaking but decided to go against it.
“i just wanted to know if… you’re okay?” you asked, this time it was you shifting on your feet. it was a stupid question because you knew he wasn’t, yet you weren’t sure of what you were meant to say, of what he wanted and needed to hear. you felt awkward and you didn’t know why. things weren’t usually like this between you and him so what changed?
“yes of course, i will be just fine,” he says, his smile overtaking his features. you could tell he enjoys your concern.
“i want you to know that i think you’ll be able to prove the general wrong, and you’ll show him exactly what you’re capable of,” you told him, not knowing what else to say.
he raised a brow a bit, not expecting you to continue on with the subject seeing as he didn’t know you heard the entirety of the conversation - he had assumed you just witnessed it passing by.
“i appreciate your faith in me,” he says, quietly and carefully avoiding eye contact. you watch how he flexes his fingers around as if not knowing what to do with them.
going against yourself you decide to give in. you kneel in front of him and clasp his hands in yours. he looks down at you - at your sunken height beside his feet, shock filled in his wide eyes.
you hadn’t held each other's hands in years. his hands were much rougher than you remember, but for some reason you liked it that way. but besides that, you didn’t even realise he had slipped his gloves off in the first place. he was typically found only ever having them on.
“you- what-,” he starts, blinking rapidly.
“listen to me, könig. no one’s words can determine who you are, you know you are worthy of what you claim to be and i’ve seen that for myself as well. it’ll only be a matter of time before everyone else realises that too. i truly do believe in you,” you tell him.
he stares at you a while, taking the time to soak you and your words in.
“i don’t know. perhaps that man is correct. he is not usually wrong about anything,” he tells you, averting his gaze by twisting his face away from yours. you watch how his ears start to redden due to the proximity between the two of you.
you sigh, not knowing how to make that man believe in himself more. it pains you to see him like this.
“no, könig, you have so much potential but people only underestimate you because they haven’t seen what you have to offer. i know you can all prove them all wrong, you’re a literal minesweeper out there.”
he seems to delve into your words with a little more thought this time.
“i guess you are right,” he says, his fingers brush yours and you are reminded that the two of your are still clasped onto one another.
satisfied, you give him a big smile, “that’s it. you’re a king, remember?”
he tries to smile but fails, his eyes divert to your intertwined hands.
“i think sometimes, that i am not worthy to be tied onto that name,” he tells you.
you frown, unsure of why he feels like this. you thought your encouraging words had helped him but it seems it did quite the opposite.
“then perhaps i’ll just have to remind you,” you say, not knowing where the sudden boldness has emerged from. you were starting to run out of options.
he parts his mouth a little, a brow raised in surprise as you let go of his hands and grab his sniper hood - throwing it to the side before fumbling with his zipper.
“ach du lieber gott!” he exclaims, “who are you and what have you done with-“
“i’m trying to make a point,” you tell him flatly, “can i?”
he pauses for a moment before looking away with his eyes closed, slowly nodding at your request. with his head turned away you take it as an opportunity to strip yourself of your clothes, leaving yourself completely naked in front of him. you knew the way he reacted to your body, you assumed that with him seeing you like this - all vulnerable and bare to him - would get him worked up.
“we always do things together, don't we?” you remind him. you had a habit to say that to him since he has always forced himself to fend for himself because of his past.
“yes, we do,” he manages as he watches you take himself out of his cargos. your lips part at seeing his length spring out, sticking up with a bead of pre-cum dripping off of the head. he twitches in his seat as if embarrassed by his biological reaction to you.
you’ve done similar things like this with him before in the past, but not ever since you joined the army with him. the two of you simply got too busy.
some people say that going intimate will mess up the years' worth of friendship used to create the platonic bond between two people. it makes it complicated, a full-blown situation even. but you on the other hand had speculated it would make you and him stronger, give each other that closure. and it did.
“so eager?” you tease, looking up at his flushed face.
“it has been a long time since…” he starts but gets cut off when you take him into your mouth.
he lets out a groan and immediately throws his head back, one of his rough hands hold the back of your head, a thumb strokes your hair up and down, comforting you as you take him further down.
his cock hits the back of your throat, you gag a little and your hands press against his thighs in response.
your core throbs as you adjust positions, taking him in and out of your mouth.
"my," he pants, "never knew you were so talented with that mouth. maybe your true area of expertise lies somewhere beyond these compounds. what on earth are you doing here with me?"
it was the longest sentence you've heard him say in one go. you playfully rolled your eyes at his incessant rambling and licked up his shaft, causing him to shiver. your eyes never stray away from his as you watch his breath hitch when your mouth leaves his cock.
“all of that training,” he grunts, before letting out an exasperated laugh, “has taught you to become very confident.”
he grabs a fistful of your hair, pulling you away from his cock, before he slams you back down on it - earning a muffled noise from you.
"you are perfect," he praises, "my perfect girl."
he brings his free hand to rest on-top of yours on his thigh. his fingers curl around and fist your hand in his. könig's eyes flutter closed as you bob again and again. you graze your teeth along the length of his cock in a teasing manner, which gains you a hiss.
"heilige scheiße, you are too good at this, flower," he lets go of your hand and brings it to the side of your face, cupping your cheek. he rubs a thumb across your cheek to feel his cock pulsing in and out inside you. he groans, tightening the grip he has with his other hand in your hair.
you retreat backwards a bit to catch your breath, wasting little to no time before you're attached to him again, your tongue swirling around his tip before you take him whole again.
"how do you know how to do such dirty things? tell me," he commands, but all he gains in response is the naughty noises coming out of your mouth as you pump his cock deeper.
"tell me, flower. have you done this with the other operators? do you stuff their cocks in your mouth and tell them how great they are, too?" he says, his voice sounding menacing, as if truly taunting you.
you don't respond, instead you swirl your tongue around his length once more.
"i asked you a question," he says, pulling you away from his cock once again, holding you so delicately yet so forcefully by the hair. you catch him staring straight at your lips which are no doubt excessively plump and red from all the sucking and fucking you've been doing with your mouth.
"no, no one else, just you," you manage as you lick your lips, and you swear you see his cock twitch a little, begging to be touched again. you grin but that soon fades as you see the look on his face.
he's not amused.
not convinced.
"seriously, könig. i haven't," you reassure him.
he scoffs and shifts positions in the chair, outstretching his legs in front of him. you take that as an initiative for you to move too.
and so you do, by pulling yourself up to his lap to straddle his thigh.
he quirks a brow in amusement as you rub yourself against him. ignoring his cock completely as a very sensual moan escapes you as you tilt your head to the side, feeling your wetness growing more and more slick as you watch something in his eyes flicker when watching you please yourself on his lap without the use of his cock.
you rub your pussy against his thigh making sure to leave a wet spot. he watches you with astonishment as he brings a hand to his own cock, thrusting it in his hand at a reasonable pace as he watches you make yourself come.
you both pick up the pace, and you get louder which seems to get him more excited. nearing your climax you squeeze your eyes shut but before you can come you're being pushed off.
"könig? what are you-"
he got up from his seat and walked over to you and inspected your form on the floor - all laid out with your knees bent in the air, exposing your leaking cunt to him. a sudden wave of humiliation washes over you as he watches you lying there with an inscrutable gaze.
before you can even muster out a word, the bottom of his boot presses onto your pussy.
his mood changes as easily as british weather.
"you're enjoying this too much," is all he says before he starts rubbing his boot up and down your pussy in slow motions.
"fuck. don't, don't do that..." you pant, but despite your words your back arches - craving more of this odd sensation.
"i will do whatever i want. i am king after all, remember?" he muses, applying a little more pressure.
god, this feels wrong. so, so wrong.
"könig, please," you whine, but then he comes to a stop. denying you once again. before you can have a go at him, he carefully sweeps you up from the floor, curling his arms around your naked form. his big, rough hands on your warm and flushed body makes you feel even wetter.
"careful, flower. we can't have you dripping. you've already made my boots so dirty. what a mess." he tuts, walking over to a table. with one arm he swipes the contents of the table to the floor, making space for you.
he rests you on the table, holding your legs up so that they can curl around his waist.
you whimper as his cock brushes your entrance; in response he lets out a groan that has your hips hiking up. you don't even have time to beg him before he's already buried inside you. the feeling of him ignites you. if he wouldn't stop denying you at the worst of times you would've came a hundred times over already.
he grunts as he grabs your hips, pushing into you deeper and deeper. he doesn't thrust - not yet. he tries to maintain as still as he can so that you can adjust to his length. when your pussy clenches around him completely he groans again and starts pacing in and out of you.
his fingers dig into your hips with each thrust like his life depends on it. he starts going faster and faster making you move your hand to absentmindedly reach over and touch your clit, your other hand makes its way to grip his forearm which seemed to be tensing rather vigorously with the number of veins popping out.
"you will come with me, won't you?" he questions, his voice strained. you could tell he was about to come soon.
"yes, yes," you manage, "i'm going to-"
he spills inside of you, still thrusting as he does. in fact, he goes even harder, urging you to finish with him. you shiver as you screw your eyes shut, letting your climax take the best of you. after a few moments of panting, he pulls out gently, and you stare at his come-coated cock, an immediate feel of thrill and heat zips up the entirety of you body just from the sight.
he chuckles, pulls you up so that you are vertical with him, and cradles your body to his.
"ah, so this is how it feels to be a king," he says, moving backwards a bit so that he can crane his neck towards your collar bone. he starts nipping little kisses up your neck, "perhaps you would have to remind me of this feeling more often, don't you think?"

ughhh. same as the presser with lance valtteri and hulk :( i hate how the press/social media have lumped in misinformation, gossip, max to merc, jos v christian etc with serious sexual harassment allegations. combining the actual crisis with the sensationalist bullshit just muddies the water when it needs to be clear the most. these reporters need to be more specific about which “distractions” they are asking these drivers about because there is a huge difference between rumor mill and inappropriate behavior allegations and the questions and answers need to reflect that
Others may find this opinion misplaced, but I agree that the press holds a large part of the blame for what this situation has become. Their reporting around an already opaque situation has made it even murkier. They’ve rushed to publish unsubstantiated things for the sake of sensationalism. Certain journalists have allowed themselves to be the conduit in the power-play of others and that’s the true extent of the unethical reporting around all of this.
I think, in a way, we’re also responsible for what the situation has become because we’ve all fed into the sensationalism with our clicks and the way we’ve speculated on each rumours and despite what we all want to say about our own moral high ground, we’ve all played a role in this.
I know it’s very reductive to say they’re all rich white men and they shouldn’t be our moral compass and all, but at the end of the day, sometimes this is all it is, unfortunately. I’m not going to sit here and justify what Daniel’s said. In all the circumstances, it was a terrible thing totally devoid of compassion and regard for the victim to say. But to see the way some of you can’t seem to criticise him without turning it into some oh my fave could never. Yes, your fave could. Your fave would. They would have as easily said the bullshit Daniel’s said if it was their team boss involved, and if you disagree, then you’re deluding yourself. At the end of the day, these men will always choose themselves.
Also, all the drivers would have been extensively briefed by their communications and PR team coming into this weekend and all their comments about I’m just concerned about my racing IS their PR hardline. It just goes to show no one at the teams truly care and I personally will point fingers at certain people for turning this situation into the whole ‘just distraction and noise’

Signora, the fair lady, Rosalyne, is dead at the electro archon’s hands. You were even allowed to bid her goodbye at her coffin before the ceremony, not that you have any other choice.
You are not sure what to make of this information for a few days.
At first, what’s left of your hopes made you believe you have a chance out of this prison now that your captor passed away.
What you failed to account for is how you are counted amongst Signora’s possessions. For the Fatui, possession of the deceased needs a new owner.
“Normally, I have better things to do than cleaning after a dead colleague. But I volunteered for this, as I know the witch must have some collection worth looking at after so many years of life.”
“What a surprise I got indeed.” The petite girl tilted her head and blinked curiously, as if some new shiny toy caught her attention. “Not even I know she loves playthings of your kind.”
You wanted to open your mouth to protest, but decided to swallow the words at the end.  Isn't that what you are to Signora?
Despite her delicate doll-like appearance, the frilly dress, and light chestnut strands that hands down her shoulders loosely, this is a Fatui Harbinger you are dealing with here.
“Hmmm, what shall I do with you?” Seeing the girl crossing her gloved fingers, thinking, you know what you need to do. It is risky, but better now than after she comes up with some sick games to play with you.
“Would you let me go? She’s dead and I am of no use to the Fatui.” Those “brave” words only made her narrow her eyes, all you got is a light tap on the head.
If this is Signora, she would have slapped your face so hard that it leaves marks, and your lunch will be canceled, at the very least.
But this Harbinger’s nonchalant attitude unsettles you even more.
“It is Madame Sandrone to you, remember that nice and clear. I do not tolerate such inappropriate behavior.” Sandrone pouts while crossing her arms, a gesture that could be seen as “cute” if she is not making you kneel under her Mary Jane heels.
“Have some respect for Lady Harbinger, I think you need some p-”
“Enough, Éliott. Go join the scavenger crew for Signora’s treasures. You are no longer needed here.” The man exited the chamber without another word, seemingly while making futile attempts at controlling his shivers.
“Close the door on your way out. Now, where were we?” Descending from her large mechanical device, Sandrone starts to take steps in your direction, with her skirt in hand.
How her heels tap on the ground while walking towards you, sounds like the beginning of the end. Signora already said there is no sane soul amongst the Harbingers, no matter how harmless they might seem. You cannot figure out where Sandrone's loose screws are, not that you want to either.
Being looked down by a small girl is surely a strange experience, after all, you got used to Signora towering over you. Forcing you look her in the eyes, Sandrone lifted your chin.
The way that she caresses your cheek is just plain disturbing. What’s worse is although she is smiling a lot ,it never quite reach her blue eyes. “What a pretty thing. This whole ordeal is not a waste of time after all. How else might I get my hands on the centerpiece of Signora’s collection?”
“I will be your mistress from now on. What material for the collar would you like?  As for leaving…lose that delusional mindset, clearly Signora has not trained you adequately. ”
Letting go of your chin, Sandrone suddenly bends down to grab your wrist, forcing you to let out a hiss of pain. Worse, she seemed to be displeased with your reaction.
You could never assume from her looks alone, how such a dainty doll-like girl could have absurdly strong grip strength.
“To those like me who tinker with experiments, you are like a walking treasury of rare, special materials. Do your best to behave, or you might just become part of my spontaneous projects. When I say part, I mean it. Understood?”
"Or I can give you to another of my cher colleague, I know he would LOVE to have you."
“...Yes, Madame Sandrone.” You try to lower your head, so as not to let her see lights fading away in your eyes.
Lights pats land on your head, the same ones given to domestic animals. “Good, now come along, Chéri, don’t make me waste more of my precious time.”
No curse words, no hitting, yet Sandrone's polite words, dripped in sweet honey still managed to make you fear for your future.

do you think the cnn article may have not come from her team? Something about it comes across very deuxmoi-like. Feels like a leak from someone who does not have the full picture. Idk the shawn mendes thing feels weird
Anything is possible. But this would not be something we usually see and then there would likely be some kind of response. This guy at CNN is a real, actual journalist. He may not be super bright or know anything about queer flagging, but he’s not just gonna post this story, and the CNN editors approve it, and then go on live TV if the source is Taylor’s hairdresser. Or even someone like a Mahomes. That is not how CNN works. Can CNN be dumb sometimes and get stories wrong a lot? Yes! Can they spin things in ways to get more viewers, or to push an agenda dictated by their billionaire owners? Yes! And below I will explain that this is what they did, but not by having some sort of fake source.
Let’s look again at the actual quotes that are in quotes from the swift “associate”.
“Because of her massive success, in this moment there is a Taylor-shaped hole in people’s ethics,”
“This article wouldn’t have been allowed to be written about Shawn Mendes or any male artist whose sexuality has been questioned by fans.”
“There seems to be no boundary some journalists won’t cross when writing about Taylor, regardless of how invasive, untrue, and inappropriate it is - all under the protective veil of an ‘opinion piece,’”
That’s it. That all the associate said. It is 100% about journalistic ethics and overstepping boundaries and sexism. By the NYT and about this particular piece. “In this moment.” The rest of the CNN article is ‘fill-in-the-blanks’ by the reporter who erroneously said she has said she’s straight, when we know she has never said that. So the rest of the article beyond the quotes is the reporter interjecting his opinion of the situation.
They mention journalistic ethics. Sexism. “This article wouldn’t have been allowed” is pointing directly at the editors who decide which opinion pieces (or any article) get printed. Being invasive. All with specific regard to this piece that is “under the protective veil of an opinion piece.” The only mention of fan speculation is that this piece was written about fan speculation and the problem is with the piece, NOT fan speculation. The “associate” does not say “she’s straight” they do not say “fan theories and speculation are invasive and unethical”.
And since I am quite confident in my opinion that Taylor is in fact queer, I take all of this to mean she’s pissed that the NYT is taking things too far and potentially outing her. And she may be pissed because it is a bad time for it for her and she might have let it slide in 2018-October 2023, but right now in her early 2024 WAG era where she has her masterminded plans all set up for rep and debut TV and TS11, it might just be a terrible time for it.
Maybe. I don’t actually know.
But I did see that “Taylor swift gay” google search results are at their highest point since kissgate. So you can understand why she usually doesn’t say anything.

So finally I read Voyager (by that I mean, I actually read the whole thing this time, and not just John and Jamie’s chapters lol) for the first time in five or six years and I’d been meaning to jot down my impressions of it (while I still have them somewhat fresh to mind) but, typically, I’ve kept forgetting and getting distracted by other stuff. (I actually finished it nearly a month ago, but again, my mind forever is fluff on the wind it seems. *sigh*)
Since I really don’t want to end up writing another another long-winded essay about the book I’ll attempt to keep it brief. lol
Rereading Voyager once again made clear why Jamie/Claire has always been much more easily shippable for me than Jamie/John. (Even though my shipping of J/C is low-key to negligible tbh.) It’s not because the latter doesn’t have a very interesting (if ultimately too toxic for me) dynamic (even if the fascinating quality of their relationship is sometimes akin to being unable to tear your eyes away from a car crash). And it’s not because I’m too much of a puritanical pearl-clutcher to appreciate to the dark allure of a so-called toxic ship (trust me, I have far more f*cked up ships than J/J lmao).
The main reason Jamie and Claire work for me, despite the fact that they can often be pretty batshit in their dynamic, is because they’re the SAME KIND of batshit...about EACH OTHER...EQUALLY. 😂
Jamie/John just don’t have that. The batshit obsessiveness is way too one-sided. I mean, if they’re not equally in unhinged, all-consuming love with each other then what’s even the point? lol Such an unbalanced nature in a toxic ship just doesn’t sail far with me, and after a while just has me looking at the undervalued party wishing they’d locate their self-respect, get a grip, and get a damn life already! (And, yes, I’m looking at you, John. *weary sigh*)
Also, rereading the infamous “take your hand off me or I’ll kill you” scene between John and Jamie at Ardsmuir reaffirmed my initial impression of it back when I’d first read it years ago (and let’s be honest, between ADHD and depression brainfog, I don’t really begin to fully trust my own memory of books until I’ve read them a few times). That it’s wholly unethical for the governor of a prison to proposition any of his prisoners is indisputable to me, but even putting that aside, the whole exchange still came off pretty questionably to me just on its own.
Jamie did nothing whatsoever to indicate that he might be receptive to that sort of attention from John. It’s like when you find yourself suddenly hit on apropos of nothing, despite having given no sign of encouragement whatsoever -- and at an inappropriate time to boot. I mean, seriously, how did John think propositioning Jamie in the wake the revelation of his grief over the loss of the love of his life was a remotely considerate time to be doing that? (If someone had tried to take advance of me in such a vulnerable moment after I’d shared something so personal with them, I’d have been bloody annoyed!)
Their exchange of shared grief was the first moment of genuine trust extended  between them, a gift really, especially on Jamie’s part, and John thought that was a good time to make a move on him? And more importantly, where’s the logic in it?
Jamie had just been talking about how much he loved his wife - a woman - while having never done anything to give the impression that he was remotely attracted to John (in fact, the impression given was much the opposite most of the time), so how then did it make the remotest sense for John to risk exposing himself like that?? Especially when John’s always emphasizing how crucial it was for men like himself to be careful around other men and not make any dangerous assumptions. Extreme caution is always the order of the day when it comes to situations like this, so wouldn’t it at least have made more sense to wait until he felt more certain of the lay of the land?
Except with Jamie he already knew perfectly well he had no need to practice the same kind of caution he would’ve with any other gentleman. Jamie was a convicted Jacobite with no standing whatsoever. He couldn’t have spoken out about John even if he’d wanted to -- his word was worthless against him. (And of course, it’s in much the same tone of imbalanced power that John carried forward their strained friendship under duress during Jamie’s years at Helwater.)
Of course, despite John’s awareness of the disproportionate amount of power he held over Jamie, his intentions, at heart, weren’t remotely malicious. (He’s certainly no Black Jack Randall!) Yet, it’s still the appearance of impropriety that stands with him. Mainly because intellectually he knows better than to do half the stuff he does, but he just gets caught up in the intensity of his feelings in the moment and ends up doing impulsively reckless shit. It’s the story of his life at this point. :/ (I mean, just think how often his “brave” impulsivity or his injudicious tongue has ended up landing him straight into hot water, while instances where cravenness stilled his tongue could’ve changed the course of his life for the better if he’d only had the courage to speak from his heart.)
Another thing that stood out to me was the characterization of Frank Randall in the book in comparison to the general attitudes of animosity he receives in the fandom.
Now I can’t say I strongly ship either Jamie/Claire or Frank/Claire (though I’ve certainly found both interesting and likeable at times), so I’m pretty neutral when it comes to any shipping biases on their parts. I do feel that it’s stanning Jamie and Claire so much that’s garnered Frank so much unwarranted hatred. I mean, he’s not a saint (none of them are lol) but he also couldn’t be farther from the devil. The worst thing charge I can legitimately lay at his feet is being a racist (though it’s unfortunately pretty understandable given his age and the time period - after all, only the people who were rarely ahead of their time could legitimately have been said to have not been racist at all during a time when it was the cultural norm). 💀
But aside from the racism, Frank was a far better man than most. How many men would’ve taken Claire back after she turned up three years later, pregnant with another man’s child, whom she had married and fallen in love with even though she was already married to Frank??? And not only that, loved that child as much as if she’d been his own biological daughter? Despite the fact that just the sight of Brianna was a constant flesh and blood reminder that Claire had betrayed him? And that Claire was still in love with Jamie despite having returned to Frank. (And he even supported her going to medical school - something a lot of husbands in that time wouldn’t have done.)
And yeah, I know he cheated on her - and that’s what so many rake him over the coals for - but under the circumstances I find it kind of hard to blame him. Did Frank not deserve to be with someone who actually loved him? Unlike Claire, who only ever came back to him in body but not in spirit, and certainly not in heart! She spent all those years being emotionally unfaithful to him first, even though he was the one who’d chosen to do the honourable thing by standing by her and raising a child that wasn’t even his. It takes two people to ruin a marriage, and the efforts of both in concert to make things work. And Claire couldn’t have made it clearer that her heart was no longer in their relationship -- and that wasn’t Frank’s fault.
And the final thing that really stood out to me: the rampant fatphobia in Outlander. I mean, I’d noticed it here and there but hadn’t paid it a great deal of attention because it mostly seemed like isolated occurrences scattered throughout the books (and as I’ve said before, I haven’t fully read all of the OL books from cover to cover yet - mostly the parts with John, Percy, or others closely related to them).
But reading the whole of Voyager brought back to me how often I’d noticed similar fatphobic sentiments expressed at other times, and just how frequently, in particular, DG uses fatness to emphasize the repulsiveness of villainous characters (like with Geillis when her character is reintroduced in Jamaica). And, it’s such a common sentiment even just in passing conversation that you’ve probably already noticed it (or if you somehow haven’t, I bet you’ll start noticing it a lot more now).
Even in her parting advice to Brianna, Claire goes, “Try not to get fat”, and I was like ‘WHATTT?? She’s abandoning her daughter (who’s also lost her father and has no other relatives) and you may never see her again, and THAT’S the parting motherly life advice you have for the poor girl??? ‘Try not to get fat’?!?!” Seriously? 🙄
DG can shove her fatphobia up her arse with the rest of her toxic predilections, for all I care.😐

Hi! Are you aware of any common issues that a shelter snake may have? I'm planning to get my first snake in the near future, and the shelter is usually where I'd go for a pet, but I'm a bit worried that the snake may come with baggage I could lack experience for, especially since the local shelter isn't specialized in reptiles (I'm sure they do their best, but they seem to have a lot of corn snakes housed in duos, and also a duo of Dumeril's boas that are described as "inseparable" and could only be adopted together). The snake I've currently got my eyes on is an adult female kingsnake, who does live alone, if that makes a difference.
If that's something a new keeper should probably avoid, do you have tips on how to find/spot ethical breeders? Finding any in Germany has been surprisingly hard, and I'm a bit worried I might end up supporting an unethical breeder due to my own ignorance.
Sorry for the long text!
Sure! (And yeah, the shelter housing snakes together is a massive red flag! Snakes aren't social animals and describing two of them as "inseparable" is absolute baloney.)
A few of the most common issues I see in shelter snakes:
Poor handling. This is something that can be worked on at the shelter and once you get the snake, but the odds are good that your average rescue snake won't be super well-socialized and you'll need to put a bit more work into developing a trusting relationship with them. They'll usually be handleable by the time they're adopted out, but it's something to be aware of.
An unusually strong food response. You'll see this most often in snakes that are already pretty food motivated - like kingsnakes. If a snake doesn't get the proper food early in life, they'll often be pretty worked up around feeding time. You can expect a very strong food response to involve things such as biting inappropriate items in the enclosure, getting so excited they miss their food, and very possibly mistaken bites to you. Mistaken feeding bites aren't a big deal, but if you're worrieda bout being bitten, it's something to know beforehand.
On the flip side, I see a poor food response a lot. Many rescue snakes were fed live before they were surrendered (it's no coincidence that most people who surrendered their snake because they realized they didn't know how to properly care for them also fed live), and for some snakes that can lead to a fear response when they're fed. You'll just have to be super patient when feeding those snakes, and it'll get better with time but might not ever go away entirely.
Mobility issues stemming from injuries or past malnutrition. The shelter should be able to tell you this beforehand, but a rescue snake might have minor mobility issues that might require lower or wider climbing branches or a softer substrate.
You should be able to ask the shelter you go to about the snake's handling and feeding habits! If they can't tell you, I wouldn't trust them enough to adopt from them.
And if you choose to go to a breeder, here's what I look for!
They don't breed unethical morphs. Things like scaleless cornsnakes and spider ball pythons.
They don't keep their snakes in tiny racks. If you can see pictures of their facility, look to see if the snakes aren't being kept in racks the size of desk drawers.
They don't maintenance feed their snakes. This can be hard to spot for the untrained eye, but you're basically looking to see if they're not just feeding the snake the bare minimum to survive. Baby snakes can vary in size a lot, and often look skinny just naturally, so you're looking for things like a three-month old snake not weighing as much as a newborn. When in doubt, ask the snake's weight and compare to a hatchling's weight.
They don't feed live. This should be easier for you, since I think live feeding is almost vanishingly rare in Germany, but it's still something to look for.
Hope this helps!!

Trends in Social Media Ethics- Calla Hall
One concept that is becoming increasingly more popular on social media recently is advertising, especially sneaky or undisclosed promotional videos. The newly launched TikTok Shop is one case that strongly relates to the topic of social media ethics. In addition to becoming a separate tab within the app where users can shop, creators have begun to implement links to products within their videos. Most creators will disclose their partnership with the product or company, but it is becoming a trend that videos will begin seeming as an authentic and genuine review video or vlog - but when you look closer, it becomes apparent that this product placement was predetermined and the creator is benefiting off of this company. Not only is it unethical to not disclose if content is a paid-for advertisement; it’s annoying. I will find myself analyzing a TikTok video to ensure it isn’t a hidden advertisement before I truly watch the video. Another ethical dilemma occurring particularly on TikTok is that of exploiting children to gain fame on TikTok and money through the Creator Fund. Although this ‘trend’ isn’t derived from brands or organizations per say, it has the attention of many outraged users. Family vloggers and mom influencers often post content including their children because that’s what gains attention and views. Although it may seem innocent (and may be in some cases)- it is a scary and pressing issue that many video creators on TikTok have brought to light. Although this isn’t new - family YouTubers have been exploiting their children for years now - it is now becoming a growing ethical dilemma on TikTok. The increasing saves and views of videos of children that could be interpreted as inappropriate or sexual by child predators is concerning, and many users on TikTok have begun to call out certain creators who are promoting this kind of content.
When it comes to ethical company practices, Coca-Cola’s current code of ethics is simple, yet it outlines many of the elements that I think are essential in ethical social media practices. In their short code, they mention six main bullet points: ensure quality, promote respect, protect people, audit platforms, transparency, and enforce policy. Under each policy, they include a deeper explanation of what this concept means for their company and how they implement it into their social media practices. I think that this straightforward and simple but all-encompassing code is well-written and easy to understand.
One specific brand that seems to have very strong social media ethical codes is Depop. Depop is a social media and online shopping crossover app where users can sell and buy used clothing. Their social media account on Instagram has frequent posts promoting their app. Rather than getting involved in recent trends, or spamming followers with enticing promotions or bait content, Depop keeps it simple. Aside from a few pinned instructional posts on how to run your shop account, all of Depop’s posts feature real sellers on the app in a trendy and stylistic way. Although each post is technically a promotion for the app and for the featured user, it is done in a way that is tasteful, respectful, and thus more interesting and enticing to audiences. On the contrary, Chipotle has a strong grasp on social media ethics in a way that differs from Depop. Chipotle seems to be a bit more in-your-face with promotions and advertisements, but not to a point that is distasteful. Their feed on Instagram is attempting to appeal to Gen Z by highlighting popular trends and using casual language and slang that is popular among this generation. Their participation in trends and memes is much more intense than that of Depop, but it doesn’t feel ingenuine or out-of-context to me. Their social media presence stays ethical by marketing towards their key audience in unique ways without seeming dishonest or using controversy to aid in their advertising.
One main concept that I think is necessary for ethical social media practices is remaining neutral when creating content, whether for your own personal brand or when working on an organization’s social media team. Although this concept could be bent if you or your organization specializes in debated topics, such as politics, posts should remain as impartial and fair as possible. Creating neutral content might also mean making sure that the language used in a post is inclusive and accommodating, as well as any images or visuals depicted do not have the potential to be upsetting or hurtful to audiences. Taking into account any and all perspectives when creating content for social media is important to ensure you or your organization does not receive bad press or lose any audiences. Similarly, I think that monitoring your engagement with other accounts on social media is an important concept to consider. Becoming a part of a conversation that isn’t exactly relevant to you or your organization - especially a controversial one - is not an ethical decision. (Freberg, 2021). Examining the context of the conversation or trend is important in deciding whether or not it would be appropriate for you or your organization to join in.
Uniformity and monotony are two negative social media concepts that I strongly want to avoid in my own practice. As a user of social media, a big pet peeve of mine is when a brand or influencer will reproduce the exact same post/video/content across all platforms on which they are active. Although it is important to reach each unique audience on individual platforms, those that follow an account across all platforms will be turned off by the monotony of reused content. I think it’s important to cater content to the specific use cases and unique elements of each platform- even if it contains the same basic message as a previous post on a differing platform.
Some concepts I might follow as a practicing social media professional are:
Bringing genuine and honest through my content
Ensuring language used is accommodating and inclusive to all audiences
Double checking sources to avoid spreading misinformation
Providing valuable and unique content
Giving credit and citing sources to avoid copyright infringement
Avoiding using controversy or drama to gain a larger audience

Taking a Stand: Dealing with Workplace Misconduct
Tumblr media
When you secure your dream job and dive into hard work, encountering misconduct at the company is the last thing you expect. As an employee, you engage in numerous meetings, and conversations with colleagues and superiors, and witness various interactions within the organization. When you witness something unsettling at work, knowing how to address it can be challenging. In this blog, we unravel the dilemma of what actions to take if you witness misconduct in the workplace. - Recognize the signs: Educate yourself about different forms of workplace misconduct to identify when it occurs. - Gather evidence: Document incidents, collect emails or messages, and gather any relevant evidence to support your claims. - Consult company policies: Familiarize yourself with your company's policies regarding workplace misconduct and reporting procedures. - Talk to a trusted colleague: Share your concerns with a trusted coworker who can offer advice and support. - Report to HR or management: Follow your company's reporting channels and report the misconduct to the appropriate authority. - Maintain confidentiality: Respect the privacy and confidentiality of all parties involved while addressing the issue. - Seek legal advice: If necessary, consult with an employment lawyer to understand your rights and explore further action. - Document incidents: Keep a record of all incidents, conversations, and actions taken throughout the process. - Take care of your well-being: Prioritize self-care and seek support from friends, family, or counseling services if needed. - Follow-up: Stay engaged with the resolution process and ensure that appropriate actions are taken to address the misconduct. What counts as workplace misconduct? Workplace misconduct can be defined as any behavior or action that negatively affects either an individual person or the company as a whole. It doesn’t necessarily have to mean that a crime has been committed - it could just be something that is unethical within the practices of the company. Here are a few key examples of workplace misconduct: Bullying: if you see somebody use their power to belittle or bully another individual in the company, this is bullying, and certainly counts as workplace misconduct.  Discrimination: when someone from a protected minority, such as a woman, a person of color, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, or a disabled person, is being discriminated against based on that part of their identity.  Sexual harassment or assault. Sexual harassment isn’t just physical - it could be comments or inappropriate jokes too. Theft, or other financial crime.  Defacing work property.  This isn’t an exhaustive list - if you see anything that seems off at work, it could be workplace misconduct. What to do if you see something bad happen at work Now we’ve established what misconduct is, what happens if you see it occur? Here are a few steps you could take. 1. Confront it directly. If the misconduct is clear and happening right in front of you, you could confront it directly. This isn’t always advisable, particularly if it involves an individual who might pose harm to you - but if you feel someone else needs your help, it may be appropriate to step in and call out the behavior. Confronting things directly is definitely worth doing if you see something casual happen, such as a tasteless joke or something else that appears harmless. Saying, “Hey, that’s not okay,” could nip the behavior in the bud before it goes further. If you do witness something happen at work that doesn’t seem right, it is very difficult to figure out what to do about it. In this blog, we will tackle the tricky question: what should I do if I witness something bad happen at work?Click To Tweet 2. Keys to Choosing the Right Massage Therapist
Let's face it, there are a lot of massage therapist in our community. With two prominent massage schools and several other corporately run schools this area is saturated with many massage professionals. But how do you choose the right own, is it by business name, credentials, or price? Even though cost may inevitably be the factor it is important is not the sole reason behind picking a single therapist from the bunch.
Number one is the bodyworker that you have selected gone to school? As trivial as this may seem this should be an important determining factor in selection of therapist. Even more important how many hours of education does he or she have and how long ago was your practitioners last training. If your practitioner has been a therapist five years and has not cracked a book since their nine month course are they truly qualified to treat your sciatica pain? A skilled and serious practitioner continues their education striving even past massage therapy to achieve greater knowledge of the body and how it functions.
Number two is the practitioner certified by the National Certification Board? This is a requirement to practice in the state of Virginia and also a barometer for the comprehension of core fundamentals of bodywork. If your practitioner is right out of school there is a grace period of 60 days before the requirement is mandated. This is due to the lengthy application process that can take 4 - 6 weeks. Additionally, once the practitioner is certified they must further credentials by becoming certified through the Board of Nursing. Proper credentialing is mandatory when selecting a qualified therapist.
Number three does your therapist listen? Massage is a very intimate engagement. Few st louis therapy take the time to ask about your concerns, review complete health histories, and advise accordingly based on your health as it exists. Many diseases are not advisable to receive massage and it is vital that your therapist can easily spot any condition that could put the patient or the practitioner at risk. Even simple Swedish relaxation strokes can prove hazardous for conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and cancer. Practitioners must complete a full health history to determine which, if any massage techniques could do more harm than intended.
Number four does your therapist respect your privacy? Often patients reveal a wealth of information about themselves from why their knee hurts to why they feel inadequate in life. It is the responsibility of the therapist to withhold from sharing the idiosyncrasy of their patients. Often it is necessary to share a certain amount of information with other healthcare professionals especially when it pertains to the patient's wellbeing, but only if the patient gives permission. It is ghastly inappropriate and unethical to divulge any information about a patient to anyone not deemed appropriate. Even though you may not know if the therapist has divulged personal information you can evaluate the persons ethics by their professionalism. Does your therapist speak about others in the session, or can you overhear them discussing other patients in the lobby? If you can answer yes to either of those questions assume the worst.
Number five; can you trust your therapist? Spring boarding off the last point of privacy, the therapist and patient relationship is one that is built. It is important that a therapist respects your space; allows you to drift off when you would like or gives you the space to talk continuously. The therapist should be an excellent delegate in the relationship, knowing when to give and minimally taking from you as the patient. After all, you are coming to them for healing. Therapist must be selfless in each session. The therapy is about the patient and the patient is guiding the treatment. It is important to never feel lead but instead feel facilitated.
Number six; does your therapist respect your boundaries? This is an important yet often neglected stipulation for treatment. So often due to the intimacy of the therapeutic relationship therapist may feel vulnerable. However, it is never acceptable for a therapist to speak about himself or herself continuously. As you are coming in for treatment the therapist should not be on autopilot during a monologue. A solid therapeutic massage requires brainpower and it is necessary to maintain focus during the session to ensure all of your needs are met. Also, after awhile of personal banter it becomes less about the patient and more about the therapist. Alternately, therapists are not allowed ethically to pry beyond their scope of practice. Even if you break down hysterically in a crying sob it is not appropriate for the therapist to probe into the reasons. As a professional we understand and empathize with emotional release as your bodies muscular system holds on to various stagnant emotion. Subsequently therapists should acknowledge the release and allow you to process uninterrupted.

Keys to Choosing the Right Massage Therapist

As a professional we understand and empathize with emotional release as your bodies muscular system holds on to various stagnant emotion. Subsequently therapists should acknowledge the release and allow you to process uninterrupted.
Number seven, does your therapist respect his or her scope of practice. Sure massage therapists know a lot about the body, at least the good ones, but so does a nurse, a surg tech, and/or a nutritionist, but does that make them qualified to diagnose a condition. Absolutely not, in fact you should be weary if a massage therapist is quick to give you reasons for your aches and pains. Truthfully, it is difficult to assess the root cause of most muscular dysfunctions unless there has been a trauma or accident at which point you will know more than us. Having a therapist evaluate in terms of their opinions on visual assessments is more in line with their scope, not root causes. For instance, I see your shoulder is higher on your right side, do you operate the mouse with that hand. The therapist should be guiding you through the process of self-discovery assisting you in uncovering the secret to your muscular mishap.
Number eight; does your therapist speak the language? Let’s pretend for a moment that you saw a massage therapist for a rare condition that you were being treated by a specialty physician, who recommended that you seek a massage therapists expertise. It would be important for the massage therapist to contact the physician and to take any advisement that he or she would have in their therapeutic practice. But, let’s say for a moment the therapist could not adequately communicate with the doctor in medical terms that is easily understood. It can be frustrating for the other healthcare professional and leaves the patient in limbo when proper communication cannot be achieved. We all have our areas of expertise, but it is important to communicate in the same language. Proper usage of medical terms is crucial in patient discussion and provides clarity to ensure understanding.
Number nine; does your therapist have an open mind? There are many modes of care out there and what works for one practitioner may not work for another. However, it is imperative for a therapist to be versatile and adapt to the patient. If you love reflexology and your therapist detests this modality, this probably is not a good match. Also, if you are a proactive patient who likes to research and find a technique that you are interested in and your practitioner is capable shouldn’t they at least try to work with you, after all this is your body.
Number ten; does your therapist meet your needs? It is not uncommon to have different specialties and not all therapist care to perform all types of massage. It is healthy to have a few different practitioners to accommodate your needs. Having one therapist for Swedish massage (relaxation), one corrective or deep tissue therapist, and one for a specialty like lymphatic or reflexology will help balance your therapeutic team. Sometimes it is nice to relax and sleep during a massage while other times you awake with a kink in your neck needing some relief. Having a handful of different types of practitioners at your disposal is imperative and will help you decipher which styles of bodywork work best for you.
Massage is an emerging profession with many newly certified therapists daily. As an instructor and bodywork professional for many years I have strived to educate the public on the many medical benefits of massage. Massage can be an amazing preventative and restorative experience when administered from an educated, well-rounded therapist. We shop around for many things in life from appliances to automobiles but do we shop around for our bodies. Do not just settle for the cheapest act in town because it may cost you more than just money. Searching for your optimal therapist takes time and is no easy task. I have worked with amazing therapists, growing therapists, and seasoned therapist. If you are working with a therapist whom needs some evolution even though it is not your responsibility please share your thoughts of where they need improvement. Send an anonymous letter or tell the receptionist, manager, or owner; whichever you believe is most appropriate. This will not only assist the therapist but the profession as a whole to move forward.

Hallo! I greatly enjoy your writing, for everything really, and whenever you get the chance and some inspo hits, wouldya write somethin sweet and gay? Whatever you're feeling, I'm sure I'll enjoy it! Thank you v kindly and I hope you have a lovely evening/day!
Kara shifted in the chair, feeling a tiny bit uneasy. Her nurse—a young woman who introduced herself as Nia when Kara had been called from the waiting room—smiled kindly and paused her typing on the desktop situated on the study table in the examination room.
“First time getting your eyes checked?” she said knowingly, voicing the question though the answer was clear in Kara’s fidgeting hands and on Nia’s computer screen, proclaiming Kara to be a first-time patient. “You shouldn’t worry, Dr. Luthor is the best ophthalmologist in the business. She’s world renowned, not that she’d ever admit to it.” It seemed like that last part was more for Nia’s benefit than Kara’s, said in a slightly miffed mumble as she turned her attention back to the computer. “Any known allergies?”
Kara blinked, feeling a bit trapped. “Um, no, but—”
“—we don’t have any medications listed for you. Is that right? You’re not on any prescriptions?”
“Oh, no. I’m not. But I—”
“—I see you wear glasses. When was the last time you got a prescription? Did you want to get new frames, we can—” Finally Kara had enough. She reached out and grabbed Nia’s hand, causing her to fall silent. “This is weird. Is this a come on? Because you’re really pretty, but I don’t swing that way.”
“No, I—wait, what?” Kara released Nia, feeling as though she’d been burned. “No! Not a—not a come on, I would never—”
“Look, it’s okay. I didn’t think so, you seem...well, nice. But I have a lawyer friend who owes me a favor so...I can have you sued. Just so you know.” She narrowed her eyes in an attempt, unsuccessful unfortunately, to look intimidating. “So what is it? You look like I tried to drown your cat.”
“I shouldn’t be here,” Kara confessed, meeting Nia’s eyes steadily. The nurse blinked owlishly at her, clearly lost.
“I don’t follow,” she said, confirming what Kara already knew.
“Look, I’m going to trust you, okay? There’s nothing actually wrong with my eyes. Or my health in general. I’m in like perfect health. By human standards, maybe more than perfect. But I don’t want to sound arrogant or anything, you know?”
Nia’s head was cocked to one side as she studied Kara. “Sorry, I still don’t follow.”
“I’manalien,” Kara said in a rush, and judging from the way Nia’s eyes widened and her expression cleared, she understood Kara perfectly.
“Well that explains all...that,” she gestured wildly to Kara. “So what’s the issue? Dr. Luthor is super supportive of aliens. She’s one of the only doctors in National City to—”
“—I don’t need glasses!” Kara interrupted, not really needing to hear about Dr. Luthor. “Look, I’m only here because,” she paused, not sure if she was willing to give the long explanation of how her work mishap, the stupid excuse she’d mumbled out, and a well-meaning coworker’s insistence to help (with a voice in Kara’s head that sounded suspiciously like Alex reminding her to keep her secret identity secret when she tried to get out of the whole thing) led her here to this moment, “it doesn’t matter. I just need your help. Tell the doctor I don’t need to be seen, give me a fake prescription, and I can go on my way.”
Nia frowned, shaking her head. “Dr. Luthor would never buy it, and she has to sign the prescriptions. She’s very particular about it. You’re here, you may as well just...get your eyes checked?”
“My alien eyes that can shoot lasers and see through anything but lead? Those eyes?”
“That’s so cool,” Nia breathed out, but she was focused. She pulled a drawer open and pulled out to eye drops. “One is to numb, the other is to dilate.” She paused, eyeing the bottles then Kara. “Would you even need a numbing agent?”
Kara resisted the urge to tell Nia that her cousin once had a bullet to the eye and it just dropped to the ground, harmless to a Kryptonian. Instead, she leaned her head back, allowing Nia to apply the drops, reassuring her the whole time that she’d help with Dr. Luthor. She winked at Kara before slipping out of the exam room, leaving only a single dimmed light on, assuring her the “doctor would be in soon.”
Kara closed her eyes—which felt no different from before she’d gotten the eye drops—and leaned her head back. She couldn’t leave, she didn’t want to stay, and she was just about to declare this one of the worst days in the last year at best, when there was a knock at the door and it swung open.
And standing there, bathed in the bright light of the hallway, was the most beautiful woman Kara had ever seen, a grinning—and all too smug—Nia standing right behind her.
She had long dark hair, brilliantly green eyes, wore the tightest dress Kara had ever seen, with heels that she was sure were murder to walk in all day. The sleeves of her white coat were rolled up to her forearms, her bright red lips were curved into a breathtaking smile.
“Hi,” said the walking angel, “I’m Dr. Lena Luthor. Nia tells me you wanted to check your eye pressure and get a new prescription?”
Kara nodded numbly, struck dumb by Dr. Luthor’s easy grace.
Nia snickered, actually snickered, as she closed the door behind them, leaning against it as Lena pulled a chair in front of Kara and motioned for her to bring her face up to the tonometer. “Forehead against, yes, and chin on the rest down there...perfect,” Dr. Luthor said gently, her voice like honey. Kara couldn’t help it, her eyes followed Dr. Luthor’s, wanting to memorize the shade. She was so busy trying to decide whether it was an emerald or sea green, forgetting entirely her misgivings about being here in the first place, that she missed the first part of Nia’s attempt to ‘help.’
“—quite extraordinary, don’t you think?” Nia finished, causing Dr. Luthor to pull slightly away, cheeks tinged pink.
For the first time, Lena Luthor was something just below perfection, stumbling over her words a little as she responded. “Oh, yes, um. They are. Looking at eyes is my job, Ms. Danvers, but yours are—well, like Nia said, so unprofessionally, they’re quite extraordinary.” She leaned back in, looking a little interested. “In fact, they’re almost—”
“—your eyes are very green,” Kara blurted, both because she was thinking it with Dr. Luthor’s face so incredibly close and because she wasn’t sure if she wanted a world renowned ophthalmologist looking too carefully at her eyes, lest she see something, well, inhuman. “Do your patients ever mention that?”
“For sure, but you’re probably the first person Dr. Luthor wants to hear it from,” Nia said, which had the doctor in question turn around and flash her a dirty look, and had Kara spluttering.
“Your lawyer friend should sue you,” Kara managed before refocusing her attention on Dr. Luthor. “I’m really sorry about commenting on your eyes. That was rude. I said the quiet part out loud. Can the numbing agent for the eyes cause a loose tongue?”
It was the stupidest thing to say, Kara knew it as soon as the words escaped her, embarrassment heating her cheeks and the back of her neck as Nia choked on laughter and Dr. Luthor seemed, well, angelic.
“You know, Nia tells me you have very interesting eyes,” Dr. Luthor said, her tone and the stressing of ‘interesting’ making it very clear Nia had told her about the laser vision. “You don’t need a doctor.”
“I need a fake prescription.”
“I can write you a note instead,” the doctor offered, getting Kara to lean back in her chair and tugging the tonometer out of the way. “Would that work?”
“Could you say I can’t see with my old glasses and that’s why I ran into a table and knocked over a coworker’s favorite mug, not that I broke it by trying to heat their coffee with my laser vision?”
Dr. Luthor laughed, the sound like the jingling of bells. It was beautiful and was thoroughly distracting. “I think that’s a lot for a note. What about, you have vision issues I’ve never seen before?”
Kara thought about it for a moment, then nodded, sticking her hand out for the doctor who stared at it with a fond smile on her lips. “You’ve got a deal, Dr. Luthor,” she said, waiting for the angel to take her hand. After several seconds, during which Lena Luthor met and held Kara’s gaze, she reached out and took Kara’s hand, her index and middle finger sliding against the inside of Kara’s wrist. She opened her mouth—to say what, Kara wasn’t sure—when Nia cut in.
“In return for the note, Kara will take you to coffee. Oh look you shook on it! That’s an oral contract, my lawyer friend will sue you if you don’t go on that date.”
Kara blushed and glared at Nia, ready to let the doctor off the hook, but Dr. Luthor’s grip on her hand tightened. And when Kara’s eyes met Lena Luthor’s incredibly green ones, she noticed they were crinkled in a smile.
“When we go to coffee,” she said softly, “you have to call me Lena. All my dates do.”

Well, I suppose this is the danger of offering resolution early in the piece and why so few television writers do it, particularly when it comes to romantic relationships. Because then there is the looming question of What Happens Next. So many writers prove that, while they may have the imaginative juice to create, they don't have what it takes to re-invent.
Whether you understand her as the protagonist or the antagonist of the first season of Ted Lasso, Rebecca's big revenge plot drove s1, gave it a clear narrative arc. This inaugural season likewise gave her character a clear and compelling arc. You could posit that, while Rebecca's pain drove season 1, Ted's pain is meant to be driving season 2...? But whatever Ted is going through does not have as clear-cut an objective so it is not giving the same sense of cohesion or direction. Within her s1 arc, we got to see Rebecca feel angry, frustrated, victorious, smug, thwarted, conflicted, heart-broken and vulnerable. Last season gave Hannah Waddingham so many opportunities to show the range of her skills as an actor and I still hope she wins an Emmy for this performance. But I doubt she will be winning any awards for her performance this season.
Most situation comedies stick to the same situation, snapping their characters back to where they were at the beginning of each episode. Certainly, this formula can become repetitive and dull after years. Ted Lasso received a great deal of praise when it broke this formula by offering resolution at the end of its first season no less. It broke the no-hugging-no-learning mantra of so many sitcoms when it allowed Rebecca to learn from her trauma, come clean and literally embrace Ted as a valuable part of her life. Since her character went on the biggest journey of the season, the question of What Happens Next was always going to be more significant for her than it was for any other character on the show.
Season 1 of Ted Lasso made me fall in love with Hannah Waddingham and the character of Rebecca Welton. But as much as it pains me to say it, in s2 she is nothing like the problematic powerhouse we met in s1. Her friendships with Keeley and Higgins continue on nicely enough. She's had some good moments with characters she had little interaction with in s1, like Roy and Nate. And it was great to meet her mother and god-daughter. But this fleshing out of the character is mostly work around her rather than work that propels her forward in any meaningful way. I understand that some people may be content just to watch Rebecca living her best life after the intensity of last season. But, for me, the pursuit of heterosexual romantic love by a woman to the exclusion of all else is a problematic aim since women have been told for centuries that securing a man is the single most important thing they can achieve in their lives.
Rebecca wants love and doesn't want to be alone. She's stated that, that's canon and that's fine. But romance seems to be Rebecca's ONLY aim, her single focus. We haven't seen her do anything in her role as club owner except make a phone call and look sharp, which I admit she does well. The woman looks INCREDIBLE. But if you are in your right mind (at least in my opinion), you are not expecting this amazing woman to end up with a pretentious windbag, a hot booty call or a wildly inappropriate youngster. So it all seems a bit aimless, purposeless. All of this dithering about with wrong dudes is just a waste of time when we have limited time with these beloved characters. We know we are only getting three short seasons of this show and I don't want to spend a full season watching a previously complex female character stare at her phone, only ever prompted into (questionable) action by her cute best friend. And I DEFINITELY don't want to watch...whatever the fuck they think this thing is with Sam.
Frankly, I am still flabbergasted that they have chosen this path. They genuinely seem to think that their audience will enjoy this as some hot romantic adventure...? And hey, a small but vocal minority are. Some diehard fans are trying to hold onto their faith with white knuckles. And the rest of us are just over here in compete and utter shock at the suddenness of the decline in this show's quality and ethics. The latest justification some fans are rather desperately grasping at seems to be that Rebecca's actions stem from her trauma. Now...okay. Trauma can be responsible for many things. But not this. Trauma can make you act in v strange ways but I don't see the connection here. I can clearly see how Rebecca's trauma from her first marriage dictated her actions towards Ted in s1. That is a very clear line to draw. I can see how, after her disastrous marriage, her judgement may be off and she may go for someone like John Wingsnight: someone safe, solid and appropriate. Again, a clear line to draw. I can also see why she would indulge in fun, shallow sexual relationships with the waiter in Liverpool and her booty call from bantr. All normal, understandable behaviour for a woman in her situation. And a v clear narrative line for the writers to draw. No problems there. Her actions in each of these cases can be traced back to Rupert and his abuse. But I cannot for the life of me draw a line between Rupert and Sam. As a traumatic reaction, that does not make a shred of sense to me.
It's true that sometimes those who have been abused become abusers, not that I'm saying Rebecca is abusing Sam in this scenario. What I am saying is that most trauma survivors will go out of their way to avoid becoming anything like their abusers. Most survivors try their damnedest to break the cycle of abuse, not perpetuate it. Most victim-survivors will act, sometimes even to their own detriment, to spare others from being impacted by their pain and trauma. Trauma and abuse does not break your moral compass. If anything, it makes it stronger. Trauma and abuse heightens your sensitivity to what is right, just and honest. Having seen Rebecca ultimately unable to follow through in her trauma-inspired revenge plot on Ted, it does not make sense to me that she is blindly (without any of the nuanced inner conflict of s1 Rebecca) allowing her trauma and abuse to lead her into a situation that not only emulates her ex-husband's hurtful, unethical behaviour, but endangers what is now supposed to be so valuable to her.
All the press for s2 as spruiked Rebecca as a dating disaster but enthusiastically committed to her club. There is a huge difference, however, between charmingly, comedically 'messy' and inept to the point of self-destructive stupidity. I just don't buy her as this dumb. Yet here she is, after all her dealings with the savage British press last season, endangering the reputation of herself, her club and one of its most vulnerable players. Oddly enough, the Rebecca we saw in s1, with her many layers and nuances, seems to me to be a far more moral (not to mention interesting) rendering of this character. This Rebecca was motivated by injustice, she had an acute understanding of what was and wasn't right. It's why she conceived of her revenge plot and also why she ultimately dropped it. It is one thing for writers to propose that there are multiple steps on the way to healing. It is one thing for them to lead a character into a dark forest full of conflict and complication. But, from what I can tell, some people don't know the difference between a dark forest and straight-up bad writing. And it really fucking shows.
