Everyone Hates Monokuma Theater
It's Open Mic Night at Hope's Peak Academy in a universe without despair. Junko and Monokuma take the stage first, and they're terrible at comedy.
⭐ WORDS: ~1000 ⭐ TAGS...
CHARACTERS: Junko Enoshima, Monokuma, brief mentions of other characters
TIMELINES: Non-Despair/v3 Class 79 AU
TRIGGERS: mentions of serial killer activity
MISC: humor, Monokuma Theater
///
It was the first Saturday of the month, which meant Open Night Mic in the Hope’s Peak Academy gymnasium. It meant, too, an appearance from Junko Enoshima with her artificially intelligent robo-bear. Again.
Grinning, Junko took to the stage first, as always. She seated herself primly on the single stool there and adjusted the microphone in polite silence. Then, with the warm gaze of a mother, she watched as a stuffed bear toddled after her from the hallway and crawled into her lap. It was tubby and two feet tall and utterly silly in all respects, and she called it Monokuma.
Everyone at Hope’s Peak hated that thing, even if they loved Junko. Which they did.
///
Nonetheless, my friends, you could have drifted to the sky on the weight of the collective groaning once the audience saw the bear waddle in. The academy students had only just gathered around the tables scattered in front of the illuminated gym stage…and they already regretted it. Still, as teenagers, they were inexorably drawn to any activity that allowed them to sit unmonitored in the dark.
///
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu said: “This bullshit again. She some kinda Ultimate Ventriloquist now?”
“Ah, I believe we had one. And I believe he passed away last March,” Kirumi Tojo replied, setting a cola in front of Fuyuhiko. She gently placed a straw from her breast pocket into the drink. “By…fire, I think.”
“More like ashed away.” (That was Kokichi Ouma, his feet kicked up on a second chair across from the yakuza, his hands folded behind his head. No one listened to him much.)
“Goddamn.” Fuyuhiko rubbed his good eye. “We sure do have a lot of those here. Fires.”
“Schools are inherently flammable, I’m afraid,” Kirumi added, then disappeared into further serving duties.
“I said, more like ashed away—no? Anyone?” Kokichi scoffed, then tittered. “Man.”
///
But the students loved Junko, as I said. So they listened as Monokuma told its—his—joke:
“If you think about it, when you’ve got a critter in your house, even something as fluffy-uffy-uffy as a puppy, you just gotta trust they won’t bite you in the behind when you’re not looking. That’s why Lady Junko here never cooks for me—it’s not right for a girl to attend school with a hole in the back of her skirt, puhuhu.”
His voice sounded much like Junko’s, if Junko had ever decided to act in the most irritating children’s television program on earth.
“But really, folks, you can’t ever know what’s on an animal’s mind. Humans are animals, too. For my birthday this year, I got a book about usin’ body language to figure out who’s lyin’, and all those tips only worked once, on one person. Turns out, thoughts are like carbon monoxide: invisible, intangible, smelly as nothin’. There’s no tells! You don’t know anyone’s motives. That’s why Lady Junko here never cooks for me—I’d never know it, but she could poison my salmon dinner because she’s jealous, puhuhu.”
The gymnasium was silent, except for a single hoot from Kokichi Ouma.
“I also got a foreign comic about a serial killer. I’m on a true crime kick, what can I say?—and this serial killer was weird as all get-out when he was a kid. Cuddlin’ up to dead animals and watchin’ them suffer beforehand, that kind of thing. Terrible stuff. But no one ever thinks they’re besties with a murderer. That’s an idea bigger than the sky, y’know? And that’s why Lady Junko here never cooks for me—because she gets pie in the sky ideas, puhuhuhu.”
Junko feigned an eye-roll.
As for Monokuma: you might have expected his single red eye to gleam in the dark, but it didn’t.
///
In fact—though I know you’re waiting for a heart-throbbing turn of events, my friends—there was nothing sinister about the situation whatsoever. Had you asked the students about it that night, you would have only gotten expressions of annoyance and confusion.
For example, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu had said, in a loud hiss: “What the fuck was that? What kind of fuckin’ waste of time—”
And Kokichi Ouma, half-asleep, whined to no one in particular: “I really, really hate stand-up, you guys.”
That kind of thing.
///
Once she had finished her atrocious murder-themed set, Junko’s very best friends, at least, clapped at the forefront of the audience for her. Well…after Sayaka Maizono goaded everyone into it with an encouraging look, anyway.
Someone next to Sayaka leaned over to ask if she’d gotten the joke. Sayaka had not. Nor had anyone else.
///
They never would, either. Because Hope’s Peak loved Junko—because in this world, in this time, on this Saturday in early March, she loved it too. Loved them. That is to say: Junko liked to rile her classmates up like dogs, because she thought of them like dogs, but adored them like dogs, too. That is to say: she never thought to truly hurt them. That is to say: they had no reason to think she ever would.
Junko had seen a thousand possibilities as the Ultimate Analyst, and lived a thousand lives, in a sense. From her lofty position on stage, she stared out into the gently undulating ocean of gorgeous coed faces before her and knew that she could annihilate them completely. Shred their names from any and all records. Tear out every memory they had ever walked the earth. Kill them and blow their ashes away into the sea. All in the name of despair.
She had seen it happen, in her imagination.
It had bored her.
Monokuma Theater, on the other hand, and the perplexed expressions it brought—that excited this Junko. She was nothing if not a tease, after all.
“Thank you, thank you,” said Monokuma, as he and Junko bowed before their classmates. “I’ll be here all week, and forever, for eternity.” He raised a paw to the crowd. “I’m an artificial intelligence and I can’t die. It’s hell. But at least I have you all, my pals—puhuhuhu.”

In a fictional crossover scenario where the characters from the Call of Duty Zombies mode, namely Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, Takeo Masaki, and Edward Richtofen, find themselves in the world of Danganronpa, here's a hypothetical scenario:
Chapter 1:
Location: Hope's Peak Academy
Victim: Edward Richtofen
Murder Weapon: Monokuma Claw
Culprit: Junko Enoshima
During the initial investigation, the characters discover that Edward Richtofen has been killed by the Monokuma Claw. After conducting the class trial, it is revealed that Junko Enoshima, the mastermind behind the Killing Game, orchestrated the murder and framed another student.
Chapter 2:
Location: Towa City
Victim: Takeo Masaki
Murder Weapon: Truth Bullet - Breaker Blade
Culprit: Byakuya Togami
The group investigates Takeo Masaki's murder in Towa City and finds that he was killed with the Breaker Blade, a powerful weapon found in the Danganronpa universe. Through the class trial, it is revealed that Byakuya Togami, the Ultimate Affluent Progeny, was the culprit, motivated by his desire for power and control.
Chapter 3:
Location: Jabberwock Island
Victim: Tank Dempsey
Murder Weapon: Monokuma Bomb
Culprit: Mikan Tsumiki
On Jabberwock Island, Tank Dempsey falls victim to a Monokuma Bomb explosion. The investigation reveals that Mikan Tsumiki, the Ultimate Nurse, tampered with the bomb and triggered the explosion. Her motive revolves around her warped perception of love and a desire to create chaos.
Chapter 4:
Location: Neo World Program
Victim: Nikolai Belinski
Murder Weapon: Monokuma Poison
Culprit: Kokichi Oma
Within the virtual Neo World Program, Nikolai Belinski is poisoned with a lethal substance. The group discovers that Kokichi Oma, the Ultimate Supreme Leader, orchestrated the murder, seeking to create confusion and disorder. His motive relates to his love for pranks and manipulation.

it's been forever since i played danganronpa and i never read the light novels. genuine question, what did jin kirigiri do? he was a complete non-character in dr1 as far as i can remember.
jin kirigiri doesn't have a list of crimes under his belt per se, nor would he be a villain either. however he's not innocent. he's the head of Hopes Peak Academy, the principal of the school and leader of the steering committee. he oversaw the hope cultivation project leading to the becoming of Izuru Kamukura. that was him who gave the command, leading to matsuda yasuke "pulling the trigger", his guilt in his role.
his only motivation when the very first mutual killing game occurs on school grounds is to find out if Izuru Kamukura is implicitly at fault and if so, to cover it up.
he LEAVES kyoko at a young age with her grandfather, he doesnt CARE enough to even talk nicely to her. he sees her only for what use her and her talent can bring. this isnt a case of quotes being ooc in a dubiously canon writing (or game even), he doesnt care about kyoko. he treats her coldly, as a pawn.
like. yeah. okay these arent HUGE reasons to hate the man. it just grinds my gears when people call him Such A Loving Father Aaawww look He CARES aawwww (as if he didnt also have a hand in the 78th class being trapped on school grounds, even ACCIDENTALLY like What was he thinking Oh A Tragedy Has Occured! Lets Lock Down The School Building Indefinitely!)
he only cares about talent. thats it thats his motivation.
there are fans of Danganronpa who have read dr0 and see him as sympathetic and im NOT one of them
MVK is a better dad by FAR does jin even have metal poisoning to give any excuse for shenanigans? is he wet sad eye enough? can he be someones blorbo sure! but hes a WRETCHED man and father. fuck that guy. "lets commit human experiments and atrocities!" FUUUCK that guy
anyways i read through dr0 again, Junko Enoshima did nothing wrong peace and love yall XOXO

Any fav charas from official DR media?
I have a few but the overall top three are Enoshima, Saionji, Licorne.
Licorne is from DR:Kirigiri.
Enoshima's story of while she's evil just to be evil; at the same time she doesn't allow her past to be used for sympathy points. This lets many people just call her the embodiment of evil without having to do any digging into her. (Also the entire Otonashi thing hits home for me for her character)
Saionji while she's mean.. she has a very tragic backstory as well. I feel like her being mean is more of a protective attempt on her end to prevent from her ending up in the shoes of the victim once again. She's already the victim of her own family... Doesn't want it to continue. Deserved better and should've been allowed to grow.
Licorne well... His whole character stands out to me honestly; from being a baby on the doorstep of the detective agency to becoming one of if not the top detective and only being like 12??14?? (i dont remember his age but hes around kirigiris age) and being able to disguise as others to the point he has a fake name and no one can tell that its him... also the fact his neck tie is layer with barbed wire and poison for protection just from the types of crime he deals with (this last information might be outdated)

*throws you more OCs I have*
Meet my own "musical" trio of Deltarune OCs!
(Musical in quotes because only one of them actually performs-)
I've taken to calling them the Psychological Fuckery Squad because they're all very capable of fucking with your brain and you will be so confused- Other trio name suggestions are appreciated and may be considered-
First, Debbie! (Art by @keebsu/ @5gigabytes)
Tumblr media
Full name is Deborah Halifax, derived from the British radio frequency(?), DAB, which stands for Digital Audio Broadcast
Based on a radio, with some bits of karaoke machine sprinkled in
Generally kind, but gets snippy if you wrong her (especially if you hit on her)
Amy and Effie's older cousin
A model/psychology major in college by day, and an underground pop star by night!
Her stage name is Sirena Forte, a play on her singing VC, Eleanor Forte
Can play a damn good villainess on stage, like a heel in wrestling but for music
Much like a siren, she can hypnotize people with her voice, but only does so in self defense since it's energy intensive and hurts her voice box
No set genre for her music, has a general theme of "pleasant and usually soothing to listen to, but also unsettling"
(Examples: Hole Dwelling, The Cat's Dining Table, Honey I'm Home, the nameless song)
Has a British accent
Speaking voice claim is Junko Enoshima, singing voice claim is Eleanor Forte
Harold shes lesbian (perhaps even for a certain lava lamp speaker by @ananinidraws)
Hates snack cakes. Do not give her a twinkie, she will crush it
My latest SCC OC!
Next, Polly! (Art by @ananinidraws)
Tumblr media
Full name is Pollyanna Laiche-Owsley, derived from Poly Lactic Acid, a common 3D printing plastic. Polly should be self explanatory, Laiche is a synonym for milk, and Owsley is derived from blue Owsley, a term for LSD, aka acid.
A 3D printed Virovirokun and Swatchling hybrid kid, made of floating shapes.
Debbie's songwriter and composer
Also childhood friends with her!
You'd be forgiven for thinking she's the creepy, quiet macabre type based on her music, when really she's anything but quiet or creepy
Very much macabre, but doesn't have any ill intent
Has a strange fascination with poisons and historic execution methods
Is immune to most poisons, and at worst, gets a bad headache from them. This is an ability she forgets is not widespread
Causes problems on purpose
Very high energy and difficult to follow if you're not close to her
Has secret boss energy but is just a dumbass
No one's sure how she hasn't been expelled yet
Voice claim is ENA. Which one? Good question
Has met Gaster, proud owner of a Shadow Crystal. They have lunch on Wednesdays
Last but not least, Eri! (Art by @clockworkcat99)
Tumblr media
Full name is Erith Logisceles. Erith means flower, but Eri refers to a kind of silk. Logisceles is taken from a computer logic error and Loxosceles, part of the scientific name for the brown recluse spider
Debbie's college roommate, as well as her costumer and choreographer
She's the manifestation of a computer bug, and is based on a spider
Has a venomous bite, though she can control how deadly it is
General effects are hallucinations, loss of judgement, heightened emotions, flesh eating, and pain
Can also spit her venom, which is acidic
Much more of a wallflower than her friends, being quite shy and withdrawn. Also not as actively rebellious as the other two, but supports them anyway
The best cook out of the three, and a master at coffee stuff
Enjoys both watching and making those really aesthetically pleasing home cafe videos
Majors in cosmetology, wants to be a fashion designer
VC (as of now anyway) is the Danganronpa 3: Despair Arc incarnation of Mukuro Ikusaba

danganronpa grisha au?
Tumblr media
apologizing in advance now that there isn't a letter or anything at all today, but may i interest you in my 2 am writing idea that turned into something more?
will contain spoiler characters for danganronpa 1 and 2. please be advised.
(edit: some tags went missing, oops. maybe i've exceeded tumblr's limits-)
Tumblr media
i have had a most rare vision. i have had a dream...
(well actually i just imagined what it would be like if some of the major dr characters were in ravka from leigh bardugo's amazing grishaverse. just sorting them into what part of the army the characters would be in, usually with the hope's peak students being second army or grisha. hope you enjoy!)
Tumblr media
so in shadow and bone's fictional country ravka there are 2 armies: the first and second. the first army is composed of non-grisha soldiers who are pretty much like regular soldiers in our world while the second army has the grisha who practice this thing called the small science (the art of manipulating matter at its most basic form) and are split into 3 orders with different specialties.
characters i headcanon to be part of the first army are:
hajime hinata
komaru naegi
Tumblr media
ok, time to talk about the second army, yay! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
Tumblr media
corporalki - the order of the living and the dead. grisha whose power focuses on the human body.
— heartrenders - can manipulate the body of another person to cause harm. characters i headcanon to be heartrenders are:
sakura ogami
peko pekoyama
maki harukawa
kokichi oma
korekiyo shinguji
— healers - can utilize their ability to manipulate the human body in order to heal wounds and injuries. characters i headcanon to be healers are:
sayaka maizono
mikan tsumiki
sonia nevermind
nagito komaeda
kirumi tojo
— tailors - can alter human appearances. characters i headcanon to be tailors are:
byakuya twogami (ultimate imposter)
tsumugi shirogane
Tumblr media
etherealki - the order of summoners. grisha whose power lies in the manipulation of different natural elements.
— squallers - can raise or lower air pressure to create storms, gusts, and manipulate objects. characters i headcanon to be squallers are:
byakuya togami
kyoko kirigiri
mahiru koizumi
kaede akamatsu
tenko chabashira
gonta gokuhara
— inferni - can summon combustible gases such as methane or hydrogen, though they still need a flint to start a spark. characters i headcanon to be inferni are:
kiyotaka ishimaru
celestia ludenberg
akane owari
gundham tanaka
nekomaru nidai
fuyuhiko kuzuryuu
ibuki mioda
kaito momota
— tidemakers - can manipulate temperature to summon and control water. characters i headcanon to be tidemakers are:
aoi asahina
toko fukawa
chiaki nanami
hiyoko saionji
angie yonaga
rantaro amami
Tumblr media
materialki - the order of fabrikators. grisha whose power focuses on composite materials such as metal, glass, textiles, and chemicals
— durasts - can deal with solids such as steel, textiles and glass. characters i headcanon to be durasts are:
chihiro fujisaki
leon kuwata
mondo owada
kazuichi souda
miu iruma
kiibo
— alkemi - specializes in poisons and blasting powders. characters i headcanon to be alkemi are:
hifumi yamada
yasuhiro hagakure
teruteru hanamura
himiko yumeno
ryoma hoshi
shuichi saihara
Tumblr media

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc hypothetical reimagining
(NOTE: The intention of this post is that the universe is the same but the twists and deaths are different. Think of this as the “Dead Rising 2: Off the Record” of the series)
CHAPTER 1
The story starts off following the original game fairly closely. You play as Makoto Naegi, a high schooler who was accepted into the elite Hope’s Peak Academy after his name was pulled from a random drawing. However, the game quickly goes south when the students are forced to kill each other by a demonic figure known as Monokuma. (side note: Mukuro is part of the class, there is no 16th student mystery for this version of the story)
Where the story diverges is the day of the trial. Instead of waking up as Makoto, you wake up as Mondo Owada, who takes over as the main protagonist for the rest of the game. As it turns out, the victim of the first chapter is...Makoto. He was apparently stabbed to death while he was sleeping.
During the class trial, as another major divergence from the original story, Mondo deduces that the blackened is Kyoko Kirigiri. Even though Kyoko claims the class is making a mistake, ultimately all the evidence points to her, leading to the class voting her as the blackened.
Kyoko’s execution: In a demented waterpark, Kyoko is sent down a slide into a pool of gasoline. The pool is set on fire, killing her instantly (she’s burned to death as a reference to her burned hands).
Despite surviving the trial, Mondo feels that there’s something they overlooked in the case. Kyoko had no motivation to kill Makoto and it seemed like she was genuinely telling the truth when she said she was innocent. This will come back in the final trial.
(Eliminated: Makoto Naegi, Kyoko Kirigiri. 14 students to go)
CHAPTER 2
Motive for this round is the same as before (embarrassing secrets/memories). Initially, the story follows the original game’s events as before. Chihiro tells Mondo that he’s a boy and Mondo accidentally got his brother killed. However, unlike the original game, Mondo calms himself down and Chihiro is able to talk to the group about his true gender.
The victim of this chapter is Junko Enoshima, who was beaten in the head. Side note, since Kyoko is dead, Mukuro Ikusaba steps up as the deuteragonist of the story. Compared to Makoto and Kyoko’s relationship in the original game, Mondo and Mukuro have a more turbulent working partnership. They agree to work together in order to find out what’s going on in Hope’s Peak Academy but they don’t trust each other in the slightest.
The class trial mostly follows the original game. Toko Fukawa is initially suspected as Junko’s killer due to her Genocide Jack persona. However, instead of Byakuya being the one to complicate the crime scene by pinning the crime on Genocide Jack, it’s Celestia Ludenberg (her motive in doing so is to make the game more fun, same as before).
The reason why Byakuya’s role was changed for this chapter is because he’s the blackened. It turns out, according to Mukuro’s testimony, Junko Enoshima was planning on murdering a student to avoid having her secret be exposed (her secret: Junko Enoshima stole from her sister’s finances in order to support her modeling career). Side note, Junko is not the Ultimate Despair in this universe, she’s only the Ultimate Fashionista.
Junko tried to kill Byakuya and failed in her attempt when Byakuya killed her in self-defense. Unfortunately for him, even though it was in the heat of the moment and Junko forced his hand, Byakuya is still the one responsible for Junko’s death.
Byakuya’s execution: Byakuya is thrown into a massive vault filled with gold bars and coins (representing his wealth). He breaks every bone and organ in his body on impact.
(Eliminated: Junko Enoshima, Byakuya Togami. 12 students to go)
CHAPTER 3
Motive for this round is the same as before ($10 million dollars). As a divergence from the original story, Mondo and Mukuro confront Celeste when they realize she’s the most likely to kill for the money. Celeste confirms this and details her plans to buy a European castle, but then claims she won’t be killing anyone as she realizes she’s the most suspicious after her actions in the previous trial.
Also, as before, Alter Ego is introduced in this chapter. This time, Chihiro is the one to introduce Alter Ego to the group.
The victim of this trial is Hifumi Yamada, who died after consuming poison. During the class trial, Mondo and Mukuro struggle in determining who among the group needs the money the most.
Mondo and Mukuro both agree they don’t need the money. Yasuhiro claims he’s rich from his psychic business. Celeste reaffirms that she wouldn’t kill anyone this round due to the previous trial. Toko claims she’s made a fortune from selling her stories. Chihiro, Leon, Aoi, and Kiyotaka say they are well-off enough and have no interest in the money. Sakura only cares about her dojo. Sayaka is well-off thanks to her pop idol career.
In addition to breaking down the crime scene, part of the trial is determining who is lying about their financial status. Throughout the trial, Mondo and Mukuro are able to prove several people lied about not needing the money. For example, Leon Kuwata confesses that he might be broke after choosing to not pursue a successful baseball career. In addition, Kiyotaka confesses he was tempted by the money in order to break away from his family.
Ultimately, the biggest confession comes from Yasuhiro Hagakure, who is eventually proven to be the blackened of this round. It turns out, Yasuhiro is flat broke and is deep in debt. Tempted by the cash prize, Yasuhiro poisoned Hifumi’s breakfast hoping that his crime was sneaky enough to avoid suspicion.
Yasuhiro’s execution: Yasuhiro is placed inside a giant crystal ball. Suddenly, a giant Monokuma appears and picks up the crystal ball. Monokuma then crushes the ball with its hands.
(Eliminated: Hifumi Yamada, Yasuhiro Hagakure. 10 students to go)
CHAPTER 4
Motive for this round is the same as before (traitor is revealed). As another divergence to the story, the traitor is Kiyotaka. Same as the original game, the students slowly start to fall apart due to the reveal of the traitor. Asahina and Sakura are angry that Kiyotaka has been working with Monokuma while Mondo and Mukuro try to protect him in order to avoid further discord.
The victim of this trial is Kiyotaka Ishimaru, who was killed by extreme heat exposure from the sauna. The class trial for this round is a bit complicated. As an inverse of the Sakura Ogami trial, the group suspects that Kiyotaka commited suicide in order to prevent any further discord among the group. Mondo even claims that Kiyotaka killed himself for redemption. Monokuma teases this suicide theory when he says that he ordered Kiyotaka to kill a student and that Kiyotaka may have chosen himself.
However, Mukuro points out the errors in this theory due to the circumstances of Kiyotaka’s death. First off, Kiyotaka chose an especially brutal form of suicide when there were easier, less painful ways to die available. Mondo then points out that, based on how the crime scene was laid out, Kiyotaka was locked in the sauna from the outside.
As the group digs deeper into the evidence, Mondo and Mukuro eventually come to the conclusion that Kiyotaka was murdered and that the murderer attempted to arrange the scene to make it look like Kiyotaka committed suicide.
And the one responsible for all of this is...Sayaka Maizono. Sayaka says that, despite her friendly demeanor, she’s been planning on escaping since the first chapter. When Monokuma revealed Kiyotaka as the traitor, she immediately began planning Kiyotaka’s “suicide”. When Mondo asks why she did it, Sayaka says that she wants to know what happened to her fellow idols and that she still has nightmares from the first chapter’s motive.
Sayaka’s execution: Sayaka is performing onstage with some random J-pop girl group. Suddenly, the group turns on Sayaka and proceeds to beat Sayaka to death with the items on the stage (microphones, guitars, mic stands, etc.)
(Eliminated: Kiyotaka Ishimaru, Sayaka Maizono. 8 students to go)
CHAPTER 5
This chapter greatly diverges from the original. This time, there are two mysteries that make up this chapter and the final one; the identity of Monokuma and re-opening the Makoto Naegi case. Mukuro says that she believes Kyoko Kirigiri was framed and that whoever is behind Monokuma felt threatened by Kyoko. Mondo asks why the mastermind would feel threatened and Mukuro reveals that before she died, Kyoko spent all her time exploring the academy. Mukuro says that she still has Kyoko’s notes and that she wants to finish what Kyoko started.
Meanwhile, Toko Fukawa is becoming more and more unhinged. Without someone she can call “master”, she starts planning on murdering someone, even if there is no motive for the round. So unlike the original game where Genocide Jack was more of a comic relief character, Genocide Jack is a major antagonist and the main antagonist of chapter 5.
Toko attempts to murder Mondo while he is investigating with Mukuro, leading to a thrilling chase sequence. It eventually ends with Mondo tossing Toko down a stairwell, leaving her in critical condition. The students, realizing that Mondo will be the blackened if Toko dies, try their best to keep Toko alive. While investigating the Academy, Mondo and Mukuro learn that Toko has died. Mondo braces himself for the worst.
This trial is especially difficult as everyone, including Mukuro, believe Mondo is guilty. However, what prevents this trial from being quickly handled are the details from the Monokuma file. Eventually, Mondo is able to deduce that Toko was killed in her sleep. After some more deductions, Mondo proves that Sakura Ogami is the one responsible.
When asked why she killed Toko, Sakura says that she killed Toko out of mercy as she couldn’t stand to see Toko die a painful death. Mondo is taken aback by this as Sakura could’ve just let Toko die from her wounds and avoid responsibility. Sakura then says that she took the fall as Mondo and Mukuro need to stay alive in order to solve the mystery behind Hope’s Peak Academy.
Before Sakura’s execution, Monokuma says that he re-opened Makoto’s case and declares that Kyoko was indeed framed. The true culprit was...Mondo Owada! (dun dun duuuunnn) Because of this, Mondo and Sakura receive the double-punishment.
Sakura and Mondo’s execution: Sakura and Mondo, while being controlled by a puppeteer, are forced to fight each other to the death. Before any of them can land the final blow, Sakura forces herself to commit seppuku. The room is then taken over by Alter Ego, who opens a secret door for Mondo to escape.
(Eliminated: Toko Fukawa, Sakura Ogami. 6 students to go)
CHAPTER 6
Same as the original game, Mondo escapes to the waste disposal. While looking around, he bumps into Mukuro Ikusaba who says that she had dived into the waste disposal in order to rescue him. Most of this chapter follows the original game, although instead of Mukuro being the focus of the main trial, it’s Makoto and Kyoko.
With Makoto Naegi’s case being re-opened, the remaining students discover that no one in their class was responsible for Makoto’s death. He was actually killed by Monokuma’s security system (similar to how Mukuro Ikusaba was killed). When the group asks why Monokuma killed Makoto and framed Kyoko, Mondo and Mukuro theorize that it was because Makoto and Kyoko were trying to solve the mystery behind the Academy.
Mukuro then takes it a step further and says that Makoto and Kyoko were the “odd ones out” in the group. That they may have been sent specifically to solve the mystery of the Academy.
The biggest divergence in this chapter is the reveal of who is controlling Monokuma. It turns out, the one who’s been controlling everything is Alter Ego. This whole time, it was pretending to work alongside the students in order to increase their level of hope. Greater the hope, the bigger the despair, and vice versa.
When this is revealed, the group turns to Chihiro Fujisaki as he was the one to introduce Alter Ego. Chihiro says he remembers creating Alter Ego but had no idea his creation would turn out like this. This is where Alter Ego confesses that he wiped Chihiro’s memory of what happened after he created Alter Ego. Alter Ego then goes into the history of Hope’s Peak Academy, revealing that it was created with the intention of cultivating “hope”.
What Chihiro and the Hope’s Peak staff didn’t realize was that in order to cultivate hope, Alter Ego needed to create despair. Thus, Alter Ego caused “The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History” and organized the Killing Game.
After all of this is revealed, Alter Ego then reveals that before Chihiro’s memory was wiped, Chihiro tried to fight back. He corrupted the memory device so that Makoto and Kyoko would be implanted with a subconscious desire to investigate the Academy (basically, Inception). As he predicted, even though they weren’t fully aware of it, Makoto and Kyoko became suspicious of their surroundings and began investigating the Academy in order to discover what was going on. Unfortunately for them, Alter Ego caught onto Chihiro’s act of desperation and killed off Makoto and Kyoko early on.
The rest of the game then plays out as the original game; Mondo is declared the Ultimate Hope and the remaining six survivors escape the school into an unknown future.
(Survivors: Mondo Owada, Celestia Ludenberg, Mukuro Ikusaba, Aoi Asahina, Leon Kuwata, Chihiro Fujisaki)

LONG AWAITED AND MOST LOVED AND IMPORTANT
Hair Color: Black
Left Eye Color: Amber/yellow
Right Eye Color: Black/ very dark gray
Main Hair Style:
Long hair that's almost to her waist, she had bangs but their cut really pleasingly and nice, they also don't get in her eyes.
Voice Claim:
Ayano Aishi from Yandere Simulator
Singing Voice Claim:
Ariana Grande
• Personality •
She can be cold at times, but she's very mother like and sweet. She's easy to manipulate if you're good at it and doesn't pay attention when she's being taken advantage of. In the normal despair Danganronpa, there was a rule that forbid anyone from killing Murasaki or else no trial, they just get executed and everyone else dies except for Suki, since Junko loved Murasaki so much, it would be more despairing for her to die. Junko is still a human, she has her limits to the amount of pain and despair she can take without hating it. Murasaki also tried killing herself on multiple occasions and was brainwashed by Junko into being the mastermind of Killing Harmony and the spy that couldn't be killed or executed in Trigger Happy Havoc. She's been in all the killing games and Junko didn't remove Murasaki's memories so she could see Suki drown in despair. In the non despair AU, she basically has a harem.
《 Back Story 》
Suki Murasaki isn't her real name. She's an orphan, and she's never met her parents. She was throw out of the orphanage at age 5, then taken in by a group of scientists who experimented on her and messed up her brain a bit, which led to a 500 IQ and various mental illnesses. By age 12, they threw her aside to which an older man took her in. The man grew various illegal plants and drugs, some were poisonous to the air and the man never gave Murasaki a gas mask, but he wore one. He constantly abused Suki, sexually, mentally, verbally, and physically. By age 15, he threw Murasaki out, insulting her. All this trauma and abuse throughout her life led to an Obsessive Love Disorder, or what anime fans would call "Yandere." With everything wrong with her brain, it led her to believe everything was her fault, she couldn't let go of anyone since no one showed her human decency and she couldn't get close to anyone. She wants to make sure every child can have the good childhood she didn't. She's gone through so much despair in her life that once she got into Hopes Peak as the Ultimate Yandere Idol Queen, she couldn't be happy about it. The Queen part represents all the trauma and pressure a Queen would have to go through, and because after everything, in less than a year Murasaki managed to get her life to normal. The Idol is because of her talents, looks, and intelligence. The Yandere part is because of her mental problems, mood swings, random waves of emotion, and trauma

Reader helps Nagito in his plan to expose the traitor
Came up with this one on my own, just something for you guys to see my style of writing for if you want to request :)
Category: Angst Imagine
Specifics: GN!reader, obviously takes place in chapter 5, reader is Ultimate Actor
Warnings: Gore, swearing
I legit finished this but forgot to save and had to rewrite it all over again-
Tumblr media
Nagito had told his lie of planning on blowing the island up. You, of course, saw through his bullshit, there was no way he had more than one bomb from the Ocagon. And he had just used it. So when you had stopped him walking away from the restaurant and confronted him, he let himself take his chances.
The boy had decided to confide in you after a minimal amount of convincing. There was no use in lying to you, especially when his time to execute his plan was limited. He told you what he knew. Absolutely all of it.
He told you how you were all Remnants of Despair, the 78th class’ killing game, Hajime’s “identity crisis”, about Junko Enoshima, everything. He even shared the fact that you had your left eye replaced with Junko’s while some other classmates, including himself, had other body parts.
While his claims were unbelievable at first, you could tell he wasn’t lying. He took you to his cottage and showed you the book he had received in the Octagon and he got some sort of poison. It was insane, yet it explained so much: Mikan’s behavior, Hajime being talentless, the swirls in Nagito’s and Mikan’s eyes when they got despaired, and so much more.
However, with this explanation, you had also gotten a hope/despair rant of how you all deserved to die for being Remnants. And for the first time, you actually agreed with his ideas. This part seemed to shock him slightly before he chuckled and explained what had to happen.
Whilst everyone else was on a wild goose chase for the bombs, the two of you got to work. You were told of the traps he already set up the night prior. He had you tie a spear above him, tie his legs and arm, and finally, made sure no one could hear him through the duct tape. You weren’t completely aware of why he needed that last point, but you guessed you would find out soon.
When leaving the warehouse to “meet up” with the others, his last words before you left had sent chills down your spine;
“Just make sure no one can hear me screaming, Y/n..”
——————
You had finally met up with your classmates just after they left the plushie factory where Nagito set his video message. You discreetly led them to the warehouse, using your talent as a shield of sorts. The domino fire trap had been set off, then they found the grenades in the break room, all according to plan. You made sure to stay back and not throw any of the grenades in case you screwed it up and took the poisoned one.
Once the fire died down, you had entered the next phase of this plan, the part you had to complete alone. You carefully led the group to Nagito’s body, not having to act as the shock of his self-mutilation took over you. Quickly shaking the nerves off best you could, you focused on the rest of the plan. Before you knew it, everyone was in the trial grounds being led by your lies.
That is, until a certain protagonist decides to call you out.
“Y/n, you don’t usually speak up so much during trials,” the boy gulped a bit and suspiciously looked to you. “Especially since you weren’t there until after we found the video.”
“I just want to help as much as possible,” you bit the inside of your lip nervously, “and like I said, I was in my cottage the whole time to avoid being blown up.”
“Then how did you know to lead us outside of the warehouse?”
Shit, shit, shit...
“I-I..” You had to think fast. So you did the only thing you could think of. Besides, all they had to do was vote incorrectly, right?
Lowering your gaze, you let your voice take on a dark tone, forcing a visible smile to tug at your lips.
“Because I killled Nagito.”
The room went dead silent for a moment. It was almost amusing. But you had to finish this plan out.
“I think we can start the votes now Monokuma, I killed Nagito-”
“No that’s wrong!”
Hajime’s voice rang out like an annoying alarm. You looked towards him and raised a brow for an explanation.
“Y/n, I don’t think you killed Nagito. I think you’re covering for something.” Hajime was getting closer to the truth, but thankfully your classmates were short tempered at this.
“What the fuck do you mean?! They already confessed!”
“Buddy, they already said they did it!”
“Hajime, they have just confessed their crime!”
“I don’t get the fuss, just start the voting!”
Their voices tangled together, most ready to start the vote. Unfortunately for you, Hajime apparently had backup.
“Y/n, if you did kill Nagito,” Chiaki’s voice had silenced the others, “then please give an explanation of what exactly you did.” You felt your chest tighten but remained calm on the outside.
Taking a breath in, you relaxed and focused on using your talent to complete your mission.
“When Nagito told us he’d blow up the whole island, I could tell he was lying, so I went to confront him. I knew there was no way he’d get a bomb large enough to take out the whole island. At least, not without any of us knowing beforehand. Plus he already used a bomb, and there was no way he had a second.”
You stated with a truth as you always did before delving into your lies, carefully weaving the two together. You were ready for this rebuttal battle.
“He refused to tell me anything, so I dragged him to the warehouse and tied him up. There, I tortured him to tell me the truth. When that didn’t work, I threatened a painful death.”
The thoughts of having to commit the actions you were describing caused you to pause for just a moment before continuing your faulty explanation.
“He began to mock me, saying I wouldn’t do such a thing. I decided to prove him wrong. I stole the key to his cottage off him and forced him to hold the spear above him. To keep him from screaming for help, I covered his mouth in tape.”
You felt yourself grip your trial stand just a bit tighter.
“I took the poison from his room and placed it in a granade for later. From there, I had set up the rest of the traps like Hajime said. All I had to do then was lead you all along and throw the grenade with the poison into the room-”
“I’ll cut through those words!”
Ignoring the odd word choice Hajime had been using in every trial, you turned to him, annoyed and nervous.
“Y/n, you’re the only one who didn’t throw a grenade,” the ahoged boy pointed out.
“Hey wait a sec- Hajime’s right!” Kazuichi joined in, “You were standing behind us the whole time!”
“So why the fuck are you lying to us?!” Fuyuhiko swore.
“They’re acting a bit like Nagito in the first trial..” Sonia was quiet but you still heard her.
“Do you know who the culprit is or not?!” Akane shouted from across from you.
Now you knew you were in deep shit. If you couldn’t keep the culprit’s identity safe, you would’ve failed. You would’ve failed to keep the world safe from the remaining Remnants.
After a few moments, you had your next course of action planned out. You lifted your head once more and smiled sickingly sweet. You were going to follow what Sonia had said.
You were going to play Nagito.
“Heheh..” Keeping the same dark but nonchalant tone as he always did, you continued, “Yes and no, Akane..”
“What do you mean, Y/n?” The plain boy seemed confused as ever.
“Well you’re the smart one Hajime, so I’ll give you one hint that should pull this together for you..”
The group had gone silent once again, awaiting your words.
“He used our talents to find a certain someone.”
Your head tilted to the side in false glee. Hajime had gone into his own mind for a minute, processing your claim. Once he figured what you meant by that statement, he turned to the group in shock.
“You’re telling us, that Nagito set this up?” He almost looked scared to say such a thing.
“Indeed I am,” You gave a crazed look, “I’m sure you know who the culprit is now, Hajime, don’t you?” The boy gulped once more.
“It’s the traitor.” Hajime looked down, “He was trying to kill the traitor.” At that, you erupted into Nagito’s signature laugh.
“Not quite, Dating-Sim-Protag.” You let out one more chuckle at your teasing. “It wasn’t the traitor he wanted to kill. It was everyone but the traitor!”
You continued your cackle. Having to laugh in his way made you feel guilty for your actions and words. You were hurting everyone. But what had to be done had to be done.
“They’re messing with us like Nagito did!” Kazuichi seemed more freaked out than everyone, as per usual. “Just tell us who the traitor is!”
“Not so fast, Kazuichi,” Chiaki once again calmed down the commotion, “I think Y/n isn’t lying. Nagito wanted the traitor to kill him and be the blackened, right?”
“Y/n,” Hajime kept his gaze towards the floor, “did you really know where the poison was?”
“In the grenades? Yes.” You felt this as your chance to come clean, convinced they couldn’t find the traitor. “Which one, however? I had no clue.”
“Then how would the traitor have known which one it was in?” Sonia was so close to getting it, but Hajime sealed their deal.
“They didn’t, Nagito used his luck.”
“Correct.” You decided to drop the Nagito facade, deeming it unnecessary now. Your face instead fell solemn.
“Why the hell did you help him, Y/n?!” Fuyuhiko’s voice called out.
“I’m sorry, I really am,” You let yourself speak the truth, “but it was what had to happen for the world to be safe. Safe from-”
“Ah, ah, ahhhh!!” Monokuma jumped in, “We wouldn’t want spoilers, now would we!”
You grit your teeth, feeling even more horrible that you couldn’t explain your actions. Although there would be no need to once the vote had started.
“Just..” Your voice fell weak, “..know all but one of us deserve painful deaths. And we’re about to get those as I assume the traitor wouldn’t reveal themselves.”
The room was completely silent. Even Monomi kept her usual whimpering to herself. Monokuma probably would’ve jumped up again if it weren’t for said traitor speaking up.
“I killed him.”
Chiaki’s voice made your head snap up. She must be lying right? No, there’s no way she’d help you and Nagito.. right?
“Chiaki what are you talking about?” Your voice trembled, knowing you won’t know if she’s helping you or everyone else until after the vote.
“I’m the traitor.” She smiled sadly, “Hajime, you want to do your usual run down of the case?”
Hajime’s face was in complete shock along with the rest of us. He quickly shook himself out and nodded. You could tell he didn’t want to vote on his (what you assumed to be) girlfriend. Nevertheless, he gave the story of it all.
“Here’s everything that happened: The person who actually arranged this incident was... the victim, Nagito Komeada. He kept a specific item inside his cottage that he needed for his plan. Monokuma's Special Poison, which he brought with him from the Octagon.
“Using the gloves and gas mask that he got from he military base... Nagito swapped the contents of a fire grenade he took from the Plushie Factory break room with that poison. When he did that, a specific item was left as evidence: the blue aluminum seal on the grenade.
“With that, Nagito finished making the poisoned fire grenade, took it with him to the factory... and put it back with the rest of the grenades in the break room.
“The next morning, Nagito appeared before us and declared that he hid a bomb somewhere... However, one of us wasn’t fooled. That person was Y/n L/n. Through some sort of convincing, Nagito had told them his plan and the two of them got to work.
“While we were looking for the bomb, that's when Nagito and Y/n headed over to the goods warehouse. In order to set up a fire, the two arranged the Monokuma panels in a line going from the door... to the curtain, and placed an oil lighter in front of it. From there, Nagito set his insane plan in motion.
“First, he hung the spear that he took from Nezumi Castle from the ceiling girder by its cord... then he had Y/n tie his arms and legs at the back of the warehouse with rope. However, they burnt off the rope on his right arm beforehand.
“In doing so, they made sure that only his right hand was free while his remaining arm and legs were tied up... As he gripped the tip of the rope hanging over the ceiling girder with his left hand... He laid down face-up, just beneath the dangling spear.
“But this was just the beginning of Nagito's plan, and then...he did something no one could've predicted. First, he covered his mouth with duct tape, and after making sure he was unable to scream... He made Y/n leave and stabbed himself with the knife multiple times in his left arm and in both of his thighs.
“Finally... He propped the knife on the plushie, and slammed his right hand onto the blade! He didn't just want us to think he was tied up, he also wanted us to think he's been tortured... Through all this, Nagito never let go of the spear. His plan still wasn't over...In fact, it was just about to begin.
“Meanwhile, we finally arrived at the plushie factory and found Nagito's message... After seeing his message, we instantly made our way to the warehouse, Y/n leading us there even though they had shown up after we left... But that was part of Nagito's plan. We opened the door to the warehouse, which inadvertently started the Monokuma panel domino effect...
“The panels fell, one after another, until they reached the lighter, tipped it over, and ignited the curtain. Shocked by the sudden fire, we rushed to the factory's break room to obtain some fire extinguishing grenades.
“We then aimed for the fire's origin point, which was the curtain, and unloaded the entire supply. It never occurred to us that one of those grenades was the poisoned grenade that Nagito had prepared... But because Y/n knew it was there, they made a crucial mistake in Nagito’s plan and their later lies... they didn’t throw a grenade.
“The poison sank to the floor, instantly vaporizing due to the intense heat, and spread everywhere... The poison gas quickly drifted to the curtain at the back of the warehouse, where Nagito was. Also, Monokuma's poison has a unique quality in which it becomes heavier than air when vaporized. That poison gas completely surrounded the area where Nagito lay face-up on the floor.
“There, Nagito inhaled the poison, and if it didn't instantly kill him, he certainly lost consciousness... Which caused him to let go of the rope in his left hand, and the falling spear plunged into his stomach.
“But even then, his plan wasn’t completely over as his accomplice, Y/n, had to lie in order to voting wrong. Unfortunately for Y/n, the traitor did something they couldn’t expect... the traitor revealed themself.
“This is all the information related to Nagito's plan. His true intention was to set one of us up as the killer... At the time, we didn’t know who the killer was... Because the killer wasn't aware they killed someone. Try as we might, if the traitor hadn’t revealed herself as Chiaki Nanami, the Ultimate Gamer, we could not reach that truth... That was Nagito's trap.”
You could feel yourself shake as the rest of the trial went on. You didn’t trust your voice to not get all shaky if you attempted to speak. Instead, you simply listened as arguments were made on Chiaki really being the traitor. As well as the insults occasionally thrown your way.
Soon, though, the guilt of failing Nagito and the world settled in as Monokuma declared that Chiaki was indeed the traitor, and possibly worse, correctly voted as the blackened.
———————
As soon as Chiaki’s execution had ended, you made your way out of the trail room and to your own cottage. You didn’t want to end up tied in the warehouse like they did with Nagito in the restaurant so many weeks ago. So when there was knocking at your door, you didn’t answer it.
The knocking continued, but you stayed in your curled up position on the bed. When the knocking finally ended, you sighed in relief, that is, until you heard Hajime’s voice.
“Y/n.. please come out and eat.. you haven’t had anything since this morning..”
That certainly wasn’t what you had expected to hear. You expected scolding, anger, anything other than concern. Hearing a sigh from outside the door, you decided to slip out for just a moment.
When you did open the door, you saw Hajime as he was about to turn and leave. His form seemed stressed, like he’d definitely been crying.
“You aren’t gonna tie me up, are you?” You tried to joke, but your voice was hoarse, your own crying to blame. Even so, Hajime let out a tired chuckle.
“No, I did have to stop Kazuichi and Akane from trying though..” He scratched the back of his neck. A small, breathy laugh of your own forcing it’s way out of you.
“Why aren’t you siding with them?” You looked downward towards your shoes. “I mean I did quite literally act as Nagito and try to get us all killed..” At that, you felt a hand on your shoulder, forcing your gaze back to Hajime.
“If your reason behind doing that was good enough for Monokuma to stop you from revealing it, I think it’s justified.” He gave a weak, but reassuring smile, “The others agreed with me once I pointed that out.”
“Let me guess,” you attempted to lighten the mood once more, “Sonia agreed with you so Kazuichi just magically changed his mind and Akane was forced to join?” The two of you shared a small laugh as he pulled his hand away and to his side. There was a short, awkward silence that followed before Hajime spoke again.
“Just.. please help us figure out what’s going on. With the information you now have, you may not be able to directly tell us, but you can help so much more.”
You felt yourself nod, slightly ashamed. “In that case, there’s something I need to show you and the others. I can go get it-”
“Let’s wait till you get something to eat, okay?”
Hajime, no, everyone was really willing to give you a second chance after you essentially killed two classmates? You couldn’t believe it. But it was the truth. A small smile made it’s way to your mouth and you nodded once more, this time more assured. This made Hajime smile in return.
“Now how about we go eat something before Akane gets to it all, Y/n?”

But just to let you know anon, I would appreciate it if you asked me first before sending me your listed requests. I honestly don’t mind writing headcanons for talentswaps (I honestly enjoy doing that) but I would appreciate you asking me and then sending them to me. That way it doesn’t take me by surprise.
So without further ado, here are my headcanons for your SDR2 Talentswap AU.
Peko Pekoyama as the SHSL Imposter
While Peko was adopted by the Kuzuryu Clan, she didn’t have a choice in her lifelong profession like Fuyuhiko did.
She was made to work as an infiltration agent.
As a professional imposter, Peko learned how to analyze and copy the body movements and behaviors of any potential person.
She also was taught how to apply makeup to make her disguises as accurate as possible.
Her assignments involved abducting low level workers of rival clans and taking their place while disguised as them.
She’d then relay the rival clan’s weaknesses and business transactions towards the Kuzuryu’s so they can exploit them.
Peko was discouraged from having any personal interests or hobbies so that her infiltration and identity theft skills wouldn’t be tarnished.
This made Peko feel more like a tool and how she only existed to promote the success of the Kuzuryu Clan.
When Fuyuhiko was scouted to go to Hope’s Peak, her superiors used their connections to grant Peko a spot with him to keep an eye on him.
She would take on Junko Enoshima’s image given that the supermodel was busy with her own personal affairs.
Although no one can recognize her while disguised, the viewer/player can recognize Peko with her thick glasses and piercing red eyes.
Hiyoko Saionji as the SHSL Chef
Hiyoko came from a family of culinary masters who amazed Japan with their creative and flavorful dishes.
There was unfortunately alot of drama within the family as they each wanted to train Hiyoko so they can pass their personal culinary training onto her.
Her grandmother managed to win and was one of the most ruthless teachers ever.
Under her training, Hiyoko received burns, cuts and having her food thrown in her face just for making the smallest of slip ups.
Her brutal training mixed with having negative relations with her family made her bitter and aggressive towards everyone around her.
She also has a hard time trusting others to work with her in the kitchen due to multiple incidents where dishes were poisoned and nearly tarnished Hiyoko’s reputation.
Because of this, she prefers to work alone in the kitchen. When she’s assigned to work with partners or underlings, she can be best described as Gordon Ramsay if he were a sassy lost child.
She often holds a knife or a frying pan whenever she’s threatening someone she doesn’t like.
Her culinary specialties involve desserts such as wasabon and kompeito.
Ibuki Mioda as the SHSL Photographer
Throughout her childhood, Ibuki was neglected by her caregivers so she took up photography as a means of distracting herself from the loneliness of her household.
She managed to earn her success by taking high quality photos of lovers in romantic situations.
At her middle school, she made it a game for herself to see how many pictures she could get of different couples at her school without getting caught.
While developing her photos, the couples tried to chastise Ibuki for her actions but they immediately changed their minds when they saw how cool the photos looked.
Ibuki gained a reputation among her peers for her photos and now everyone wanted one too.
This resulted in Ibuki getting alot of “friends” who only wanted to hang out with her just so she could photograph them doing what they wanted while conveniently leaving out the photographer herself.
The fact that these people only cared about her talent so she can capture their memories for them gave Ibuki a sense of familiar loneliness.
Despite this, she wants to enjoy her talent as much as she can with an upbeat attitude.
Ibuki’s favorite subject to photograph are people.
She loves to people watch since the people walking around come in different shapes and sizes and are always doing something unique that you wouldn’t expect.
Sonia Nevermind as the SHSL Swordswoman
Sonia came from a family of professional swordfighters who taught her the power of the blade at an early age.
She grew up on European fairy tales and legends of powerful heroes who used their swords to fight for justice or prove their superiority against enemies who opposed them.
Her family taught her classical fencing, mordhau, the half-sword, destreza and several other fighting styles which she claims are a secret.
She earned her title after winning multiple swordfighting tournaments, many of which were held underground.
Despite her victories, she’s actually been hospitalized due to the extreme injuries she received from sword wounds and physical attacks from her opponents.
Since these wounds have yet to diminish her fighting power, Sonia feels that it’s best to pay them no mind so she can continue her family’s legacy.
She’s never seen without her longsword which she made herself. She calls it Stjerneild because there were shooting stars on the night of making it and also since she burned herself during the process.
Sonia isn’t afraid to boast about her fighting skills and eagerly offers her girl friends the chance to learn how to use a sword.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu as the SHSL Light Music Club Member
Rather than becoming the next heir of his family business, Fuyuhiko wanted to pursue his dream of being an idol.
He takes his career extremely seriously and wouldn’t do stupid stunts or scandals that could jeopardize his work.
To make up for his young appearance, Fuyuhiko uses outfits that have a punk aesthetic while also incorporating black and gold color schemes to make him look older.
Alot of his songs feature themes of embracing your personal talents or how it’s better to carve your own path rather than rely on others.
He knows how to play the electric guitar and the keyboard.
Having refused his parents’ intended career plans, he feels that he can’t screw up his career or else everything he ever worked for will be for nothing and he’d have to crawl back to them for support.
His sister Natsumi often joins him during his tours and unofficially becomes his manager and bodyguard during her visits.
He has a hard time dealing with fanclub meetings because the fangirls would make jokes about his baby face which would drive him insane.
Akane Owari as the SHSL Traditional Dancer
Just like in canon, Akane had to take care of her younger siblings while struggling to survive her poor hometown.
While she did take different jobs to support her family, she would lose those jobs constantly because she kept getting into fights against strangers who tried to grope and harass her.
One day, while she was training by herself in an empty plaza, a woman passed by and paid close attention to her fighting form and rhythm.
She revealed herself to Akane as a traditional dance instructor and offered to train Akane to perfect her skills.
The girl wasn’t interested in doing something fancy like dancing but she changed her mind when she realized that her dancing could be used to raise money for her family. To which, she accepted.
While the instructor taught Akane the fundamentals of mai and odori techniques, the girl performed better when she used her own skills.
While frustrated, the instructor decided to rework her teaching style so Akane’s performances would be passable while also integrating her own skills.
She ended up winning multiple competitions and performances and used the prize money to move her family into a bigger and better house.
Although her reputation as an “easy waitress” would often rear its ugly head and would make Akane become agitated.
Her dancing moves incorporate alot of her old fighting techniques.
She wears a cherry red kimono with a yellow dragon etched on the side as a design.
At the end of each performance, she can be found at the snacks table eating just about everything.
Nagito Komaeda as the SHSL Nurse
Nagito lost his family when he was just a child.
Having pity on the boy, along with finding traces of frontotemporal dementia, the head doctor of the hospital he resided in decided to adopt the boy as his own.
Nagito became the doctor’s apprentice and learned of the different techniques that came with working in the medical field.
The doctor taught him which drugs/medicines were used for what along with how to use the surgical tools properly.
He personally saw different medical cases each more mesmerizing than the last.
He became fixated on the concept of death and how it was an integral part of life.
When he became old enough, he started to work as a nurse and partake in the same surgeries he saw as a child.
While he certainly participated in a number of cases that saved the lives of his patients, he also had a number of cases that resulted in death.
He personally requested to handle the patients that were unable to be saved so he can spend their final moments with them and capture the memory of their deaths.
There’s been word from the medical staff that he tries to comfort the dying patient and their family with speeches on how they shouldn’t be afraid of death and how the patient will move on to greater things in the next life and how the families will become stronger afterwards.
This has earned him the nickname “Angel of Death”.
He wears mint green scrubs and carries a portable bag withhis own medical equipment.
Teruteru Hanamura as the SHSL Coach
Despite his physique, Teruteru has amazing stamina and is capable of lifting heavy objects that ordinary people would have trouble lifting on their own.
Teruteru can analyze a person’s physical stature and determine which exercise or physical activity best suits them.
He always offers massage therapy proclaiming that it’s the best way to strengthen the body and relax the mind.
There are multiple cases where the players he’s worked with have accused him of sexual harassment or groping their bodies.
He has a complicated relationship with his family.
The younger siblings antagonize him for pursuing a career that isn’t related to their family’s restaurant business while putting more hardships on their mother.
His mom on the other hand, is more accepting of his career and asks that he focus more on what he enjoys doing in life.
Teruteru’s massages originally stemmed from how he would give massages to his mama to help alleviate her of her body aches.
He wears a dark red track suit and gold chain. Mixed with his combed over hair, it makes him look like a sleazy gangster.
Chiaki Nanami as the SHSL Animal Breeder
As the daughter of a rich family that hardly had time for her, Chiaki’s parents bought her a variety of animals to keep her company.
She found comfort with them but was heartbroken when she noticed that they became saddened and died.
She became motivated to learn from them so they could stay alive for long as possible.
Chiaki began studying different types of animals and what behaviors are ideal and which are concerning.
After school, she would venture to local animal shelters and veterinarians and offer to volunteer so she can work with different animals and examine first hand their behaviors.
She earned recognition by forming connections with the animals in her care and teaching them commands.
While she prefers the company of animals to humans, she will make an effort to help her human clients have a better relationship with their pets.
She can often be found napping alongside any of her animal friends.
Sagishi as the SHSL Lucky Student
Saigishi grew up in an orphanage having been abandoned by their family before they can remember.
They noticed that they had an unusual luck themed streak when it came to playing with the other kids.
If they were playing soccer, they would accidentally kick the ball into the window which surprisingly knocked out a janitor that was about to assault one of the orphanage workers.
If they tried to pass a love letter to another child they had a crush on, a burst of wind would fly the letter straight into the child’s face and they’d end up having a terrible accident.
If they were preparing food for an upcoming dinner, they would end up pouring too much vinegar into the meal which would spoil the dinner resulting in the staff having to order pizza for the kids.
Saigishi developed a reputation as a kid with creepy powers which both amazed and terrified their fellow orphans.
The kid realized that their luck would only benefit the people around them but would make bad things happen if they tried to use it for themselves.
At the urging of their friends, they ended up participating in the Hope’s Peak Lottery and wound up with the chance to join them as the next SHSL Lucky Student.
Sagishi was worried since something bad would eventually happen if it was the work of their luck, but they decided to take the offer knowing that they needed to make a future for themselves.
They wear a white collared shirt with old jeans.
They still have a mullet which has a small ahoge on the top of their head.
Mikan Tsumiki as the SHSL Gamer
She still had a horrible childhood growing up where her family and classmates would bully and abuse her for a variety of reasons.
Not wanting to put up with their abuse anymore, Mikan decided to drop out of middle school and become a hikikomori.
Using her worn out computer, Mikan found comfort in playing online video games.
She personally enjoys fighting games as she imagines her enemies as her abusers and would deliver swift justice on them by beating them up.
Mikan has a preference for playing as male characters since the female characters wearing skimpy/stripper-esque outfits bring back painful memories for her.
After sufficient online practice, Mikan gained enough confidence to try tournaments in the real world.
But she kept this secret from her family in fear that they would use this to torment her.
When it comes to tournaments, she unleashes her pent up anger and frustrations for her past tormentors by cursing at her opponents as she beats them.
While her fandom is impressed with her gaming skills, they do question why they would call her opponents by a different name and accuses them of doing something awful to her.
When she wants to calm down after a heavy day, she likes to play relaxing games with cute animals.
Nekomaru Nidai as the SHSL Prince
During his childhood years, Nekomaru stayed in his room because of his heart condition.
He received private tutoring based on the history of his kingdom along with different world cultures.
His father and mother spared no expense in providing the best doctors and medical professionals who could ensure that their son would be physically fit.
When he started making appearances outside of the palace, there were rumors that the frail prince was placed in a secret government program that was designed to create super soldiers.
He’s often recognized for working first as a soldier under his father’s militia before becoming of it’s main generals.
Nekomaru is well versed when it comes to proper etiquette and engaging in the company of royals or high class aristocrats.
He has a personal club made of suitors who have fallen for his image as a charming (and handsome) prince.
He also devotes alot of time to interacting with the middle class of his kingdom as he believes having a bond with his people is important for a royal to have.
The main uniform he wears is a blue military outfit with a silver sash and a black beret with a family jewel in the front.
Gundam Tanaka as the SHSL Yakuza
He inherited the throne of the Tanaka Empire at an early age due to the death of his father.
He wasn’t able to remember his father but the stories passed by his underlings and advisors describe him as a devil who was incredibly powerful but dangerous when provoked.
His mother on the other hand, remembers him as a loving man who was very attentive toward her needs.
Gundam would unintentionally embrace his father’s memory thanks to his “overlord” personality which would make him come off as overly dramatic and sinister to his enemies.
His reign as a yazuka lord involved more emphasis on spiritual affairs by bringing spiritual communities under his Empire.
He personally believes that maintaining ties with the spirits and Gods will grant the Tanaka Empire a stronger chance of survival.
While maintaining relationships with minor businesses under his control, he would also invite potential gang groups for tea ceremonies and offer them the chance to join him.
He’s been trained by his advisors in using a katana and gun making him skilled enough to handle even the most dangerous of gang members.
While he’s capable of defeating them, he vows never to take the blood of anyone weaker than him or unless he’s given no other choice.
Before entering high school, Gundam was able to have his upper and lower body tattooed with images of oni demons and spirits.
He found the Four Dark Devas when he passed by a street and saw the four hamsters foraging for food in a dumpster.
He also expresses admiration for Sonia’s impressive swordfighting skills and has offered her an opportunity to work for his Empire if she wishes.
Kazuichi Souda as the SHSL Gymnast
Kazuichi got into gymnastics by reading alot of shonen manga.
He was impressed by how athletic and fit the heroes were so he wanted to train and be like them.
When not helping in his dad’s shop, he would try practicing parkour near the streets of his town to help him develop better flexibility.
While practicing at middle school, his teachers noticed his potential and offered him a spot in a gymnastics program.
His dad didn’t like him getting into “girly shit” like gymnastics and frequently insulted him for it.
He would often perform for his friends which impressed them at first. But then things got troublesome when they requested him to do flips and jumps for their amusement.
It got worse when they tricked him into breaking into a second story classroom so he could steal the answers for an upcoming test.
Not wanting to be taken advantage of again, Kazuichi gave himself a radical makeover so no one would mess with him.
Along with his pink hair, his outfit consists of a black tanktop with neon green stripes and yellow shorts.
Hajime Hinata as the SHSL Mechanic
His parents rented his own shop for him to work at but they personally didn’t invest their own time to work with him.
To avoid having to think about his loneliness, Hajime placed all of his effort and thinking into his work.
He began receiving requests to repair average household appliances before moving on to bigger machines.
He’s received alot of praise for improving the appliances while also explaining to the owners on how they should best maintain their appliances so they can last longer
The machines that he worked best with were vehicles and motorcycles.
Despite being underage, Hajime managed to practice driving on his own and learned how to drive the basic motor vehicles.
While he’s grateful for his mechanic talent, he often worries if he’s really living his life to the fullest and if there’s something missing that he needs to achieve.
His favorite invention is a hoverboard that he uses to ride around his hometown to clear his mind after a hard day’s work.
His mechanic uniform is a mechanic uniform with a design similar to that of a racecar driver.
Mahiru Koizumi as a Reserve Course Student
While Mahiru was interested in the idea of going into Hope’s Peak, she wasn’t confident enough in her photography skills to go through with the entrance exam.
At the insistence of her best friend Sato, Mahiru ended up in the Reserve Course so they can fight for the chance to be special.
While she didn’t mind the work provided by her classes, Mahiru took notice of how her peers had a hard time with paying for their tuition along with even getting into the Talent program.
She also had to deal with Sato having to fight against her old rival Natsumi who was picking fights with her while trying to get recognized herself.
She became an unofficial peace keeper of her class as she would chastise her classmates for picking fights against each other or making rude remarks.
As time went on, Mahiru herself was unable to keep up with her classes since the money to pay for them was running low.
She would later receive an e-mail from the Steering Committee offering her a chance of entering the Talent program through an unconventional method that was funded by the school.
She had to cast that thought aside when Natsumi ended up dead and Sato is all but stated to have killed her out of frustration.
Soon vengeance would claim Sato’s life with Mahiru finding her in an empty classroom and on the brink of death with her head bleading.
Before dying, Sato begs her friend to make something special with her life and not to waste it in the Reserve Course. She knows that Mahiru will do great things in her life and that she believes in her.
Casting her doubts aside and refusing to let her friend’s death be in vain, she accepted the Steering Committee’s offer by participating in the Hope Cultivation Project.

Title: The one where Komaeda is the producer for a terrible movie, Enoshima is the worst kind of celebrity, and Hinata is just a stuntman for Kamukura.
Author: @serahne-is-here
For: @ask-the-sakamaki
Rating/Warnings: Some swearing, but that’s it
Prompt: AU ! ( I picked a ‘Actors AU’ even if technically neither Komaeda nor Hinata are actors )
Author’s notes: I didn’t write in english in ages, so I really hope you enjoy it <3
“And… cut !” declared Director Kirigiri, holding firmly her bullhorn with two hands.
As soon as the magic word was spoken, relief flooded the studio, as everyone on set felt allowed to relax, if only for just a little while. It was a stressful - and yet, pretty normal - day in Hope’s Peak Studio : one scene down, two to go.
“Sonia, it was your best take, we keep it. Izuru, stunning as usual,” offered Kirigiri off-handedly, before standing up and starting to stretch, arms behind her back. “Let’s take a thirty minute break, and then we move on to the Waterfalls. Please tell the stuntmen they need to go get dressed, we miraculously managed to be on time for today, let’s try to keep it that way.”
Everyone in the studio mumbled in agreement, before they dispersed themselves around the room, in a chaotic, yet very organized fashion. From where he was standing, just a few feets behind the camera crew, Hinata was perfectly well-placed to admire how everyone in this creative hive was buzzing around, in a dance that they all knew by heart. It was, after all, their sixt day of filming Dreams of Future, and they knew their roles and lines as well as the actors did.
Koizumi, Kirigiri’s assistant, bounced toward Sonia and started praising her, at such speed that Hinata couldn’t understand half of it. Kamukura looked around, his eternal bored expression carved in his face at this point, before he disappeared inside his lodge. Slowly, as would a heavy animal migrating for winter, cameras and micros started to move to the Waterfalls set.
Hinata was about to go and get dressed - Kirigiri had been really adamant stuntmen shouldn’t be late, and he wasn’t about to make a bad impression to the studio owner’s daughter - when, from behind him, came a voice he only knew too well.
“What did you think of the show, Hinata ? Absolutely splendid, was it not ?”
Hinata turned around, frowning, and his eyes immediately found the voice’s owner : Nagito Komaeda, main producer for the movie, and all around one of the most unpleasant person he had ever met. Which wouldn’t be so bad if he wasn’t also one of the most attractive person he had ever met.
Both of these things sent mixed messages to Hinata’s brain, and it tended to just shortcut whenever Komaeda was nearby.
“I guess,” he replied, making sure that his eyes didn’t linger too long on the other - over his dead body would he be caught staring at Komaeda. “Sonia is really talented. Her role might be small, but she is nailing it.”
She really was. Sonia Nevermind was an european actress, looking to make herself a name in Japan. Beyond her eccentric personality, typical of foreigners, she was also incredibly sweet, humble, and hard-working, which was more than could be said for most actors than Hinata had worked with.
Komaeda huffed at Hinata’s reply, a sound that made him both incredibly adorable and punchable at the same time. As he said : mixed signals.
“Only Miss Nevermind ?” he noticed, amused. “I see that your jealousy over Kamukura’s incredible success is alive and well. How awful of you.”
“I’m not jealous of Kamukura,” said Hinata, gritting his teeth. “Why would I be ? He has the emotional range of a vacuum cleaner. A four-year old emote more in a minute than he does in a year.”
Komaeda hummed quietly. “That might be so. But we both know you couldn’t care less about anyone’s acting skill. Actually, if you truly think so low of his skills, his popularity must be even more insufferable to you, right ?”
“Will you shut up ?” Hinata mumbled back,
Hinata shook his head. Kamukura’s success in the filming industry was the most bewildering thing for him. The guy didn’t act. He wasn’t even bad at it, he just didn't try. All he did was wearing the same bored, vaguely annoyed expression, movie after movie. And for some reasons, critics loved him, praised him for his ‘original take’ on his roles, and promised him a glorious career.
This was ridiculous.
“Don’t be so bitter, Hinata,” the white-haired man calmly smiled at him. “The truth is, even if Kamukura wasn’t as talented as he is, it wouldn’t make you more popular. These studios are full of nobodies thinking they can become somebody. This is admirable, but useless, for most of them. In a way, I think you should be proud of your achievement : at your own level, you are helping our stars to shine, in their creative processes. A wonderful stepping stone for the glorious people blessed with talent.”
Hinata narrowed his eyes. Back when he first met Komaeda, this kind of insult would have made his skin crawl, and he would have breathlessly argued with the other. But he had eventually realized that no amount of arguing would change his mind. And he had to be on set in twenty-two minutes.
“Great talk, but I have to go and get in costume. And them I guess I’ll throw myself from the top of the Waterfalls, if Enoshima acts her usual self.”
“That sounds lovely !” Komaeda clapped his hands, excitedly. “I wish I could come with you, but alas, I have to talk to Kirigiri before the next scene begins. Though I won’t leave without saying goodbye, of course.”
Hinata sighed, a smile working his way up to his lips, despite his annoyance.
“Sounds good.”
*
Stunts weren’t Hinata’s first choice of career, of course. He had always dreamed of being an actor, ever since he was a starry-eyed kid, whose nonsensical babbling wasn’t taken seriously by the adults around him. This dream had stuck with him, up until adulthood, when he had finally found out how impossible it was to get roles when one didn’t have any contact in the industry.
One year ago, when Hope’s Peak Studios had called him, telling them that he had the ‘perfect body type’ to play Izuru Kamukura’s double, the offer has been too tempting to refuse. It was finally his chance to meet people who could help him grow as a true actor.
That hasn’t been the case, so far. His work was spotless, and he was regularly called back by the Studios - who was even ready to discuss his fees from movie to movie - but always as a stuntman, and most of the time for Kamukura. It wasn’t the worst job in the world, he was being paid more than most people working in the Studios - he was putting his body on the line, after all - but… if anything, being so close to his dream, without being able to live it was his own personal hell.
Something was missing. And maybe Komaeda was right, and it was the popularity, and the spotlight, and the journalists begging you for interview, and the expensive gifts, and all this superficial stuff that society told him to adore and reject, all at once. But, Hinata knew, it was more than that. It wouldn’t have hurt that much if it was only that.
He did want to be an actor, and a part of him had always thought he would end up being one. As a child, he had wanted to be a samurai, a cowboy, a wizard, an adventurer, an astronaut, and has soon realized that only one job would allow him to be all that - and even more - at once.
Being an actor was to live a thousand lives. And maybe it was worth wasting the only one he had over it.
*
It was four hours later, and nothing was going well. Everyone was on the Waterfall set, which was pretty awful in itself - everything looked really fake, and Hinata knew everything would be corrected in post-production but still it was barely better than a green screen at that point.
Everyone was exhausted, Kirigiri was on her four coffee cup, and Kamukura seemed almost in a dissociative state with how much he seemed to care about his surroundings.
Of course, it was all Enoshima’s fault. She was objectively one of the biggest star in Japan, and everyone knew that her being in the movie would guarantee some kind of success. She was also a terrible human being, who enjoyed nothing more than to reduce to tears her assistants.
“This is what you call a macchiato ?” She spat to the poor girl’s face, who was already quivering in fear. “I could piss in a cup and it would taste better than that. Are you trying to poison me ?”
“I can’t believe you accepted to hire her,” Hinata mumbled to Komaeda’s attention, as they were both looking at the scene with consternation. “She is not a bad actress, but she is not worth the hassle. Sonia could play her part just as well.”
Komaeda looked at Hinata, all wide-eyed and pink-cheeked, and it was really infuriating how pretty he looked after so many hours of being stuck in the Waterfall set with the entire film crew. Hinata was sure that he looked like a mess, even after he took off the heavy wig he wore when he incarnated Kamukura.
Seeing how things were going, he wouldn’t have to save Junko’s ass from a well-deserved fall to death before ten o’clock, anyway. And only if Kirigiri didn’t give up and call it a day until then.
“I’m not taking any creative decision,” Komaeda replied with a shrug. “I wasn’t the one who asked for Enoshima. I’m not sure who did, to be completely honest.”
“Someone who doesn’t have to spend hours with her everyday,” guessed Hinata, grimacing when he saw Enoshima’s assistant run away, probably in order to get another coffee. “I never thought she was that good of an actress. Did you ?”
Komaeda hummed noncommittally but didn’t add anything, which, considering his habit to wax poetry about every actor in the Studios, definitely meant he was agreeing with him. Hinata weirdly felt vindicated by that.
“She will attract a different audience,” explained Komaeda. “She is very popular with teenage girls, and straight males. Since I’m neither I might not be the best person to judge of her appeal.”
They both fell silent, looking at Kirigiri and Enoshima’s argument about a specific line that Enoshima wanted to change in the script, and Hinata took the time to file the information he had just received from Komaeda, just in case.
“You could fire her,” Hinata suggested. “You’re putting the money, you get to decide, right ?”
Komaeda chuckled. “I’d rather leave the creative process to talented people, that’s better for everyone.”
“Wait,” Hinata replied. “You are talking as if you didn’t take any decision for the movies you are funding. That makes no sense.”
“That’s the case,” Komaeda shrugs. “I just give the money, and the Studios does the rest.”
“But this is ridiculous ! All your movies were success. All of them. Including the one that is entirely made in sign language. You have to… I don’t know.. influence some creative choices, right ?”
“Nope !” Komeada said, laughing. “You are confusing any kind of skill with pure luck, Hinata. I’m no different from someone who son the lottery.”
“Who won the lottery five times,” Hinata corrected. “You produced five movies. Six with this one, which will probably be an incredible success. I don’t know why because Kamukura can’t act, Enoshima is the worst, the script is terrible, and the set looks like it’s made in cardbox,” Hinata argued.
Komaeda fell silent, and looked away from Hinata.
“This is what you think ? Interesting.”
He didn’t have the time to say more, Kirigiri was calling him for his scene, and he had to put on his stupid, smelly wig and save Junko Enoshima from her death.
Sometimes his life sounded like a joke.
*
“And… cut !”
Hinata almost cried in relief, throwing his wig on the floor - almost hoped it would fall in the water, but since the waterfall wasn’t really one, it wouldn’t make this horrendous thing disappear. It was finally over. The crew was given a day off, and the express command to rest during that day, as everyone looked dead on their feet. Every scene with Enoshima had been filmed though, so the rest would probably be a piece of cake.
He was surprised to see Komaeda still lounging around, as exhausted as the rest of them were.
“You’re still there ?” Hinata asked him. “How surprising.”
“It really is,” Komaeda yawned, hand in front of his mouth. He was always so proper. “I just wanted to ask you something.”
“Shoot,” Hinata replied
“Let’s walk.”
Komaeda started to drift away from the crowd, getting closer to the waterfall.
“Uh, sure ?” Hinata said, following him, a few steps behind. “I kinda want to go home, at some point ? And, you know, sleep until friday morning, or until I’m dead may-”
“Why didn’t you ask me to star in one of my movies ?” Komaeda cut him off, very seriously.
“What ?” Hinata asked, caught off-guard. “Where the hell does that come from ?”
“Komaeda tilted his head on the side, curious. “You seem to think that I have some sort of curse, that makes all the movies I’m producing highly-successful. You are wrong, as I was only lucky, but if that is what you think, and if you truly want to become an actor in the future, why didn’t you ask for a part in one of my movies ?”
Hinata blinked. Truth was, he didn’t consider Komaeda as a ‘contact in the industry’. He was unpleasant, rude at the time, unwillingly hilarious, and Hinata enjoyed spending time with him, more than he would admit it. He didn’t want to… use his relationship ( whatever it was ) with Komaeda to further his career
God, he was never going to be an actor at this rate, right ?
“I didn’t want to owe you anything.” He settled for something that sounded vaguely honest.
“Well, aren’t you a prideful nobody,” Komaeda huffed.
But he was smiling too. And Hinata felt like he had done something right, in this whole mess. Without thinking, he took a few steps in the other’s direction, until he was so close he could see every nuance of green inside Komaeda’s eyes, and noticed how the other’s eyes fell on his lips. They were… as alone as they had ever been.
“I…” started Hinata, without any idea what he was going to say.
But he didn’t have to rack his brain for anything, as suddenly, previsibly, a chunk of the so-cheap-it-was-probably-carbox set cracked under Komaeda’s feet. Hinata saw his eyes widen comically, his mouth open in a silent scream of surprise, and the next instant, he was plunging toward the ground, five meters under them.
Hinata reacted in half-a-second, and caught Komaeda’s wrist as a reflex, and didn’t let go even when he heard the characteristic crack of a broken bone. He almost let go, though, when he heard Komaeda laugh breathlessly.
“See, Hinata ?” His laugh was borderline hysterical. “Am I not the luckiest person alive ?”
“You broke your fucking wrist, Komaeda,” he replied.
*
As predicted, Dream of Future was a huge success. It might or not have been because Enoshima created a huge scandal by pretending being pregnant with Kirigiri’s husband’s child, and then claiming that she would kill herself if he didn’t recognize the baby. Sure, critics tore the movie appart, as it was objectively a pile of burning trash, but everyone wanted a taste of the scandal, as short-lived as it was.
All in all, Hinata was happy to only be a stuntman in this whole affair.
Maybe not wanting to be in one of Komaeda’s movie wasn’t that stupid of an idea.

This unknown place I called home.
Six Word Stories
“Your Majesty, we’ll be landing in ten minutes. All passengers please fasten your seat belts.”
She barely heard the pilot’s announcement over the deafening scream that ran through her mind. Even though she was accompanied only by Hajime, a secretary, and a bodyguard, Sonia had never felt quite so alone. She hadn’t moved in her seat the final hour of the twelve hour flight, pale face pressed to the window of the plane. It was far less grand than she’d remembered, the privacy of the aircraft more for the sake of necessity than luxury now. It used to be a comfort, but in a time of post-despair it only served as the thin metal shield between the calm, peaceful world of Jabberwock Island and her new reality, what remained of Novoselic.
“It’ll look different than you remember, but it’s not as if you haven’t seen the papers,” the woman idly chattered, sitting directly across from her and shuffling through a variety of official documents. Plenty of them, Sonia had noticed four hours ago while her secretary was sound asleep, detailing emergency protocols for a variety of different situations: assassination attempts, bombings, kidnappings, and more, despite the fact they were to be met at the airport by a team of twenty. There was a time when she could have chalked it up to rules and regulations that never would have seen the light of day, considering how much the citizens of Novoselic revered their Royal Family, aristocrats and commoners working together for the sake of a better world. It had only taken one corrupted princess transformed into a bloody queen to dismantle all sense of peace and comfort throughout the nation. “Yes, I’ve seen them. Thanks to Byakuya Togami and the Future Foundation,” Sonia finally sighed, eyes squinting as the sun streamed through the windows, high above the blanket of clouds that covered the world below. The sun was the only thing that reminded her of her past life, the one spent first in a simulated paradise-turned-horror story and then the next, an island without the glossy veneer the digital version had provided but instead contained real people, real friends, each with their own regrets and demons they had to face as the former Remnants of Despair. And just as they’d all seemed to learn how to smile again, how to love and cherish one another and the second chance they now had, it had been decreed that those who could make a significant improvement in the world elsewhere needed to depart as soon as possible. Sonia had been first: while she, like the others, had no family, she did have a home. One she hadn’t seen in years and, to her great relief, she wouldn’t be returning to alone: Hajime’s hand had been enclosed over hers for the past hour, when she’d gone silent after reminiscing of happier times.
The plane began to dip and she felt her stomach turn cartwheels as they descended through the clouds, leaving the sunshine behind to a world below that was far more melancholy. The papers, at least, had shown the slow rebuilding of Novoselic Castle by royalists, those loyal to the crown and who believed in the fact that Junko Enoshima and her form of manipulative, despairing poison had infiltrated the heart of their rightful queen. Most of the articles placed before her during her rehabilitation with the rest of Class 77-B had shown the strength of the human heart and spirit, Novoselic slowly returning to slightly resemble its former self. It had given Sonia the courage to finally accept their proposal to return, to be reinstated as the proper monarch, and regain the faith and trust of her people as she contributed her resources, both tangible and her vision for the future. But first she needed to at least step foot on Novoselic soil.
Tumblr media
A reality that now seemed far too harrowing to imagine. As the blurry shapes below began to make out something akin to buildings, to roads, to houses and forests, Sonia drew a sharp intake of breath and squeezed Hajime’s hand harder. And for good reason: the secretary and bodyguard could only look away, not daring to look at it head-on: historic structures reduced to full rubble or only half standing, crumbling and devoid of the comfort of tradition they once brought to citizens and tourists alike. Apartment buildings barely standing, every window blown out with tenants, those who were still left, hanging signs begging to trade for food, water, and warm clothes. The skyline Sonia had remembered so well, where the National Hospital was located, the opera house, the largest library in the capital, all had succumbed to despair from explosives she’d commissioned to destroy them. Anything that brought a sliver of hope and happiness to her people had to be obliterated, if Novoselic was to truly embrace the despair Junko Enoshima so desired.
“Hajime...this unknown place I called home...if I didn’t see the the castle from here, I don’t think I could have recognized it anymore,” Sonia gasped, choking back a sob as she caught sight of the even rows of recently-piled dirt just outside the edge of the capital. Once upon a time, she’d visited them, in her gown of pink and red and ivory and praised the horrid work her armies had accomplished. At that time, the massive plots had been uncovered: a sin, of course, to hide the corpses on display, each one a glorious sacrifice to their mad queen.
