Do you know the difference between the posts on Israel and the posts on Palestine.

When I look at Israel posts they show soldiers injured or killed and unfortunate incidents caused by the ‘Palestinian Terror’, with gruesome injuries and hostages. I tell myself it’s war these things happen. And if this is what Israel is facing then it should be equal on the opposing side.

But then I look to Palestinian side of things. And there’s a clear difference.

They are in ruins.

Refugee camps everywhere.

Injuries widespread, cities in reduced to ashes.

And then I say to myself.

“Where are Israel’s ruins?

Where are their crowded bomb shelters?

Where are their crying orphaned children?

Where are the bodies crushed under rubble?

Where is their loss in this war?”

All Israel has are spoils of war and sprinkles of tragedy compared to the massacre that is Palestine right now.

It looks like the second coming of the holocaust in Palestine. No one is spared not even the harmless civilians.

I understand dead and injured soldiers. They fight and die for their country’s ideals.

But targeting civilians, harmless civilians, innocent children! That is a massacre. That is Genocide.

That is like saying when Germany occupied France in WWII they killed everyone in Paris and blew up the Eiffel Tower!

I want every Pro Israel person to look at the rubble that has become of Gaza and say out loud.

“This is justice. This is peace.”

I’ll wait.

When I found out that the Israeli military was killing noncombatants, including children, that didn't make any sense to me. No sense at all. I thought their goal was to punish the Hamas terrorists for taking hostages, but then it turned into a full-scale invasion, with the Israeli military bombing and shooting everything and everyone they could.

Why, though? Why would they attack people who weren't involved in the conflict? Why did whoever's in charge at Israel decide that genocide was an appropriate response to the terrorists taking hostages? And, above all else...

Why children? Why kill innocent children? Children aren't terrorists! Children don't take hostages! Children aren't doing anything to threaten Israel...

...and then it dawned on me. I remembered the scene from the Jungle Book where Bagheera tells Baloo why Shere Khan wants to kill Mowgli.

"He hates man with a vengeance, you know that! Because he fears man's gun and man's fire!"

"But little Mowgli don't have those things!"

"Shere Khan won't wait until he does! He'll get Mowgli while he's young and helpless! Just one swipe and..."

That's it, isn't it? Palestinian children may not be threats to Israel, but Israel's leaders and military are afraid that those children might grow up to become threats to Israel. So they decided to nip that potential threat in the bud, so to speak, by killing the Palestinian children before they could ever have the chance to threaten Israel, in the same way Shere Khan tried to kill Mowgli before he could become a threat.

The fact that those children had thoughts and feelings, families and friends, hopes and dreams? All irrelevant to Israel's leaders and military. As irrelevant as the thoughts and feelings of rats are to an exterminator. It's ironic, if you think about it, since the Nazis thought of Jewish people the exact same way.

A report just came out from a Palestinian hostage saying he was strapped with bombs and sent into a Hamas tunnel, with Israel prepared to blow the tunnel up with his body if fighters were found inside and yet people are still making the “Hamas uses human shields” arguments that have been confirmed to be a myth with no supporting evidence

#the hostage also said the same thing happened to a 15 year old boy hostage #both of them did survive as they were pulled out of the tunnel when no fighters were found and then released a few days later #the amount of people (including the US president) who still talk about the Hamas human shields is alarming #since no one has evidence of it and we have more then one piece of evidence of Israel using human shields #palestine #🦢

They have since left four premature babies to decompose on their beds. They have since kidnapped, stripped, tortured civilians and tried to frame them as Hamas fighters for their propaganda. As a leftist Jew who believes strongly in the cause of dignity and freedom for the Palestinian people, and that Israel has abused them, I am begging fellow leftists to understand that real life is not a comic book. A government being “the bad guy” in a situation does not automatically make anyone who opposes it “the good guy”.

Hamas denies the Holocaust. Hamas disseminates the Protocols of the Elders of Zion—the conspiracy theory it paints is what they mean by “Zionist”. Hamas forbids foreign aid educators from teaching human rights to Palestinians, and claims that even teaching that the Holocaust happened is a war crime. Hamas has written the aim of annihilating Israel (the country and its people) into its charter—the mass slaughter and violent expulsion of 7 million Jews from the land is written into its laws.

There is no crime any state could ever do that would justify any of that; there is no act of state repression that could ever make it acceptable to side with the organization spreading Nazi pamphlets and Holocaust denial.

Oppose Bibi Netanyahu. Oppose Israel’s far-right, authoritarian government. Oppose Likud’s policies. Oppose its violence against Palestinian civilians. That isn’t antisemitic. But Hamas is—verifiably, beyond a shadow of a doubt, to its core—antisemitic. Its portrayal of Israeli Jews as blood-thirsty, child-killing master manipulators that control international media and finance is antisemitic. Its insistence that Palestinian freedom necessitates the death & expulsion of Jews from the land is antisemitic. Its redefinition of “Zionism” as a pejorative to mean genocidal Jewish/Israeli Supremacy is antisemitic.

Supporting the Palestinian people in their plight is a noble and loving goal; please never stop that. But do not let Hamas co-opt that into excusing or denying their rampant antisemitism and war crimes.
