A/n: I wanna stay a massive Thankyou to my Aussie girl for helping me behind the scenes with this one ~ she edited like the entire thing for me and helped me so much with a lot of this in general — this is one of my favourite pieces I’ve ever worked on.
Grayson Dolan had a unique skill set. He never missed. His ability was unparalleled. The youngest, the most skilled and above all the highest-ranking marksman in the NCIS - Naval. Criminal. Investigative. Service.
Although Grayson, alongside his twin brother Ethan who served as an investigative agent, had an incredibly intense and demanding job title. He always made time to enjoy life. How could he not? When he has the most beautiful and intelligent woman by his side. Y/n Y/l/n - soon to be Y/n Dolan. A stunning white gold engagement ring wrapped around her delicately manicured finger. A symbol of love and commitment.
Grayson adored his soon to be wife, he considered himself the luckiest man in the world to have her perfect self by his side. Every morning before Grayson went to work - Y/n would make him a coffee and a slice of avocado toast. She was his backbone, without her? Grayson was pretty sure he’d implode.
Life was hard - challenging at times and sometimes he was the taker of life. That weighs heavily on even the toughest of men. But with Y/n by his side? Life was good, life was great, life was perfect……..until it wasn’t.

Dude!!!
32. "Can you put that phone down? I won't show up in photos anyway." 23. "It's the baby monitor." 20. "If you have to sleep there, avoid turning off the light." 13. "How did you know what I was thinking?" These are all so good!

20. "If you have to sleep there, avoid turning off the light."
23. "It's the baby monitor."
32. "Can you put that phone down? I won't show up in photos anyway."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Walking into the rental house, Y/N's deep frown is enough for Ethan to fidget, holding their two month old closer to his chest, almost as a shield.
"I know what you're thinking, but it will do for the night. Just until Smooth Cat is fixed." Ethan's preemptive action caused her to raise an eyebrow.
Folding her arms, Y/N purses her lips. "How did you know what I was thinking?"
"You got quiet and I know you were reconsidering my proposal." Ethan chuckles lowly. "It's a creepy house but, Grayson will be with us." Ethan shrugs, watching Y/N shake her head and take out her phone to film the foyer as evidence. She planned to keep it as a means of blackmail.
Grayson walked down the stairs, a little on edge after seeing the entire house.
Sticking a camera in his face, Y/N groans and Grayson rolls his eyes. He's still getting used to his afterlife, but not being able to see himself in a mirror is the worst part so far.
"Can you put that phone down? I won't show up in photos anyway."
"It's a video. Think of it as protection. What ghost would attack us on camera?" Y/N's logic only made the twins exchange a worried look.
"If they kills us and take our bodies, do you really think a phone would ever be found." Grayson deadpanned, making her shiver.
"Fuck off." She spat, trying to ignore the fear settling in. "Just set up the room for Elisabeth and leave the monitor on. I'm sure we're just overwhelmed with the trip." Y/N ran a hand through her hair, watching Ethan move pass her, but Grayson stopped him.
"Leave the light on." Grayson warns, remembering what the owner told him.
"If you have to sleep there, avoid turning off the light."
"Sure." Ethan mumbles, heading upstairs as Y/N sits back on the couch, Grayson sitting next to her.
She took out the baby monitor, feeling at ease with it in her hand. She is the epitome of a scared mother who keeps the baby monitor with her at all times, even in normal circumstances.
"I know you're scared, but you shouldn't be. I would never hurt any of you." Grayson speaks up, making Y/N nod. He didn't choose his fate and it's unfair, but she can't relax around him just yet. Not when he is still coming to terms with his vampirism.
Tapping her foot nervously, Y/N frowned. "He's taking his sweet time, huh?"
As she spoke, the light began to flicker. Her heart jumped, a shiver running down her back as her hand finds Grayson's.
The baby monitor flickers red, signaling a sound detected.
"It's the baby monitor." Grayson warns and Y/N jumps to her feet, unaware that Grayson is faster. His hands grip her waist, pulling her close as he rushes upstairs, looking for the source.
"Ethan?!" Y/N calls out, looking around in bewilderment, leaving her anger about the speed taken for later.
"E?!" Grayson shouts too, rushing though the rooms as Y/N drops the baby monitor on the bed beside their overnight bag filled with her baby's things.
With shaky fingers, she takes her baby's binky, one she wouldn't sleep without.
"Y/N?" She hears a faint whisper...Ethan's. Looking around, she feels her heart thumping.
"Babe?" Her voice cracks, her bottom lip quivering. "This isn't funny, Ethan."
But instead of Ethan, the sound of her baby's wail sounds and she feels herself growing weak, her legs giving out but she can't fall. She can't.
"ELIZABETH?!" She screams for her daughter, her breasts aching with her wails but the sound only gets louder and louder until she's on the ground, holding her hands over her ears as she cries.
But then the wails stop, static coming from the monitor and Y/N draws in a shallow, shaky breath.
"Ethan?" She tries.
"Elizabeth?" She croaks.
No answer.
Her skin is crawling with chills, her mind wandering, her train of thought lost.
"Grayson?" Her last attempt falls on deaf ears and she curls back against the bed, shaking as tears break forth like a damn.
That's when the baby monitor sounds again, the static breaking for an ominous, raspy voice to replace it.
"They are mine now."
