nice headcanon but have you considered that I have mine 😂 I like giving all of the Peaks distinct aesthetics while still keeping them somewhat connected and I love LQG being the kinda gay that puts care into himself only to pretend he doesn't care. Not to mention that he'd want to look "tough" to go with his brawlery persona, but also he's a lord so you have to make it fancy in a way. I imagine the choker being part of his disciples look though, their robes simpler but this is like "their" recognisable design.

Regarding makeup I think I'd like him bare-faced too but his wiki page constantly described how doll-like he is and men of status always have something to separate them from the rest and to look even "better", though this is the one thing I may change indeed 🤔 he'd just look too good with bare lip and huge beautiful eyes

Today Kris & I watched 3... maybe 4? I swear it might be 4 but Kristopher said 3 and I know that if he says it's 3 it's definitely 3 and I might just feel like it because so much happened. Episodes of twin peaks. The middle of season 2 was kind of sucks but I am so so engaged again. Annie & Coop are like one of the only romances that I care about and actually make me smile in this fucking show. I am scared for what's to come. The visuals in episode 20 were really good like they always tend to be even when it's shitty cgi but I had fun with episode 20. Even if the feelings of dread are so very real and they are so good at making me feel it through my entire body. I also still have physical reactions to seeing BOB & hearing the scary music so Um not cool guys. Having complicated feelings about Leo & his state to the point it makes me sad even though I've compared him to springtrap five nights at freddy's but less so since he is more not entirely there in comparison. But it is cool. I love twin peaks. I'm glad John is gone I hated him the entire time he was there I hope his private jet crashes or that his penis fell off during sex with Audrey

Hot take but instead of CGI, anime should go back to more retro style animation, like we should totally bring back bold, dynamic animation and imitation cel-shading and bold outlines and rich details and unique designs because that’s what the modern anime scene needs more of and I just know that retro style animation would look absolutely amazing with modern technology

#my brainpoops #truth be told I’m having a little too much fun using retro style flourishes in my art lately and it’s making me think things #well I suppose a big part to play in the rise of cgi and the decline in 2D animation has to do with overproduction being a big problem #especially with the whole thing with seasonal anime and increasing demand for content #anime has become more of a product than anything and because of that shift in attitudes from the audience and major studios in accordance #the focus has shifted from crafting a work with effort and passion #to creating a product to be consumed #and that consumption and the desire to consume puts more strain on studios to keep up and continue making anime #you only have to look at not only the decline in overall visual quality in a lot of modern anime nowadays #as well as animators actively coming out and voicing their struggles #to see that #as well as the matter of homogeny and overall same-ness #with more deeper and more unique stories either becoming sleeper hits or being swept under the rug in favour of more mainstream fare #look it’s just my personal feelings/opinions #let’s just say it was the golden age of anime for a reason #and I don’t think we’ll ever hit that peak again #okay rant over #but I guess the same could be said for a lot of modern media too #90s anime

having sat down and played a couple hours of sable in earnest: I am both surprised and enchanted by what a good puzzle game it is. when I saw "lovely artistic indie game that cites ghibli and breath of the wild as inspirations," I was expecting something similar to spiritfarer, or stray, or abzû and journey: calming and rewarding of exploration, whose ‘puzzles’ are more in getting physically to the solutions than they are in figuring out what the solutions actually are. the first ship I explored, which gave me a climbers’ badge, did nothing to dissuade that, but the second took me a solid and very rewarding forty minutes of "wait, I have to move that first so that this doesn't just slide off the platform...." that I enjoyed immensely.

—which turned into less of a liveblog post and more of an entire review, whoops! in any case, it's a charming game that I'm glad I had the whim to try, the titular sable has a lot of personality and the platforming puzzles are just difficult enough to be rewarding without being overly frustrating (I'm looking at you, exile)
