I mean - good morning!

I have to get new shoes as my present pair have become ill-fitting. I quite enjoy a half-boot. So will look around to see what I can find. Beating a path of a different kind today.

**Tristan**

The planetary black hole lecture bored him. His thoughts were a riot of chaotic feelings revolving around Dr. LeVeau's statement saying she had proof. Dr. Marks for the first time ever didn’t hold his attention ... couldn't hold his attention with those words echoing through his mind ... so as soon as it was done, he was out the door. Pushing his way through the crowds in the halls his heart felt like it was going to pound its way through his rib cage. He needed to find her. Now. The hell with the rest of the day and all the talks. Deep in thought, he somehow got turned around and lost.

“I need to find Doctor Voodoo Priestess Archaeologist LeVeau.” He kept repeating the words to random people until finally he grabbed a vertically challenged student and demanded they take him to her. He almost laughed, barely restraining himself from saying “Take me to your leader.” The closer they got to the right office, the more the poor kid shook. Tris finally took pity when they got to the right floor and gave him five bucks for his trouble. It took him a few minutes to work up the nerve to knock.

“Come in, but you better have chocolate with you!” Crap. She didn’t sound like she was in a good mood.

He came in anyway and stood just inside the door, “I only technically got lost once and the student that led me here shook the whole way. You have to teach me how to affect students that way.” He rifled through his day pack and pulled out a Dove chocolate bar and laid it on her desk before backing away. He nodded at the mug. “Nice mug. Mine says ‘Black Holes Suck’.”

She laughed, nodded at the chair in front of the desk and he obediently sat before she asked how his planetary black hole lecture went.

“Fine. It was okay,” Tris shrugged. “Nothing new. This symposium is a total waste of my time.” He sighed. “I hate small talk. You said you had proof of aliens. My grandfather searched most of his life for proof. One might say I inherited my drive to find proof from him.” His knee began bouncing. An anxious habit he’d never been able to stop.. “Will you share your proof with me? I’ll sign any document, swear to secrecy, whatever it takes.” He couldn’t stand sitting anymore and got up and paced. He took a deep breath, sat back down and looked her straight in the eyes. “Please?”

**Melania**

Mel watched Mr. Beck flit about her office like a hummingbird on crack, and she swore he vibrated almost as much, with a bemused expression as she sipped her strong brew. His peculiarities didn’t phase her though. She had worked with academics for two decades and had long since stopped finding their quirks as either odd or off putting. Instead she was wondering if his were a product of ADHD, Asperger’s, over caffeination, or a combination thereof.

“You can stand and/or pace if it makes you feel more comfortable, you will hardly offend me.” She gave him a warmer smile and a slight nod, knowing if she forced the almost frenetic man to remain seared that he might explode. “I work in academia, you wouldn’t be the first to try and wear a path in my carpet.” She set her cup on her desk and waved a hand in his direction as if to indicate that she did truly mean what she said, her silver rings flashing in the overhead lights. After he resumed his pacing she watched, trying to contain a chuckle. “I don’t require an NDA, however I will not allow you to even attempt to leave with anything I show you. And if you try, I will show you exactly how I make my students tremble.” Mel gave him a wink before spinning her chair around to face the bookshelves and leaving him facing an embroidered rendition of Mike the LSU mascot on the back of her brightly colored, purple and yellow chair.

"Since aliens are the main area of your interest, we'll start with that." Mel said while taking items off of the shelves. She did have a few she knew for a fact to be of extraterrestrial origin, one that was still being researched even. She’d start small and end with that one, build to it. It was a test of trust, with a reason.

Spinning back around to face Tristan, she set all the items on her desk and methodically and meticulously organized them. Before she spoke to him again, almost imperceptible words floated over her lips and around the room, ushering in a sense of peace and calm. A gentle spell to help relax the man before her.

"I can personally vouch for the authenticity of all of what you are to see and touch. Nothing has been faked or altered in any way. You are welcome to research my credentials when you leave and will find that they are above reproach." Head still bowed, her eyes rose to meet his where he had stilled momentarily, then returned to what she was doing. "We'll start with these," Mel picked up pictures from the desk and held them out to him. "From four different excavations on four different continents, from four different time periods in history. The same characters in a language that is only found at those sites. That pink nail in the one picture, that's my right index finger. I took all four of those. At those sites are abnormal radiation readings, those strange characters, and in all locations are depictions of similar creatures which resemble no earthly being living or extinct. They all are on ley lines and look at the structures that are over the underground caverns where those engravings were found. " Mel sat back, tenting her fingers on her desk and waiting to see his reaction. At all sites, further excavations and geological studies were being planned and grants applied for. They were anomalies and of great interest to several groups of scientists.
