Commander Time!
I just played a 3 player game against Intet, the Dreamer and Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius. I was playing Vaevictis Asmadi, to keep with the big dragon theme.
The first few rounds consisted of generic mana ramping and such, I had an early Veteran Explorer that boosted us past that, and then I dropped a Fervor in preparation to play my commander. Niv-Mizzet didn’t do much after playing his commander, and just drew a few cards until the Intet player cast him, equiping it with Skyblinder Staff, so his dragon could fly unhindered.
After that, I blew up most of Intet’s board with Decimate, but I had to destroy my Fervor to do so, meaning that I needed to play my Maze Rusher and wait another turn before I could cast Vaevictis safely.
Just when I thought everything was under control, the Niv-Mizzet player cast Dismiss into Dream, which sucked, because he had like 18 mana to dump into killing every creature on the board.
I still managed to sneak in 10 commander damage due to him tapping out to kill Intet’s things, but after that it was just Vaevictis dying, being reanimated by spells like Morgue Burst and Rise from the Grave, then dying again.
At that point, both the Niv-Mizzet and Intet had to leave for other things, but the game seemed tied up for the long haul. Dismiss into Dream was to be easily answered from two different green decks running excessive removal, but the problem was whether we could draw an answer before the game became a three hour clusterfuck.
My Vaevictis deck functioned very well, and I was very glad I recently added more ways to give him haste. Those paid off to an extreme, and the many reanimation spells to keep him costing cheap worked great. Sadly, I don’t have an online and updated decklist, but if someone wants to see it, then I’ll type one up when I get a chance.
I had a fun time, even with a hard control deck committed to stopping me on the other side of the table, but sadly I don’t really think the other players enjoyed it as much as I did, as much fun as I had.

Easy! The best looking dragons are Niv before he turned into a transformer, Treva the Renewer, and Oros the Avenger. Maybe throw Intet the Dreamer in there as well.

Hello friends. I want to make a dragon EDH deck.
I used to have an Intet, the dreamer deck. But I'm not sure if I should remake her or just try and make an Ur-Dragon deck.
What do you guys think?

Commander’s Toolkit
Clans of Tarkir
Like the shards, the wedges or clans of Tarkir are also three color combinations that have given us some very powerful commanders. I’ve found that there are lot less legendary creatures in the enemy colors than there are in the shards.
Abzan
Tumblr media
Associated Commanders: Anafenza, the Foremost, Daghatar, the Adamant, Doran, the Siege Tower, Ghave, Guru of Spores and Karador, Ghost Chieftan.
Abzan has some of the most unpleasant commanders to see on the other side of the table. Karador and Ghave being the main ones. Despite this, Abzan contains white and black which gives us some powerful removal, the green and white also give us some of the better token producing abilities which work really well in Ghave. The green obviously gives us access to ramp and enchantment removal which is always needed. Be careful though, Abzan legendaries can sometimes be powerful combo engines, or at least there will probably be some in the deck.
Jeskai
Tumblr media
Associated Commanders: Narset, Enlightened Master, Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest, Zedruu, the Greathearted, Numot, the Devastator and Ruhan of the Fomorii.
I don’t use jeskai much, Narset’s overused and Zedruu only really has one deck. Ruhan is interesting, especially in a one-on-one setting. Jeskai has white, which gives us useful tech such as permanent exile, total land destruction and some of the better board wipes. Blue and red give us access to Counterflux among other counter spells. And Red gives us access to some really fun chaotic effects that are good in Ruhan and Zedruu decks.
Mardu
Tumblr media
Associated Commanders: Alesha, Who Smiles at Death, Kaalia of the Vast, Tariel, Reckoner of Souls, Zurgo Helmsmasher and Queen Marchesa
And now we come to my favorite of all the three color combinations, or least the one I seem to use the most. Mardu is very aggressive, having red for haste and additional combat steps. White for Double Strike and Anthem effects and Black to drain the life from your opponents as you’re hitting them in the face. Mardu colors give access to some of my favorite legendaries in the format including Obzedat, Ghost Council, Rakdos, Lord of Riots and Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer.
Sultai
Tumblr media
Associated Commanders: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant, Tasigur, the Golden Fang, The Mimeoplasm, Vorosh, the Hunter and Damia, Sage of Stone.
I think that before Leovold was banned, Sultai was the most powerful of the combinations if not one of them. Like Esper and Bant, I find that the legendaries in sultai don’ t really have a specific function, with the exception of The Mimeoplasm. Players usually just build a Tasigur or Sidisi deck, but never use the commander, instead they just build a simic or dimir deck that needs a third color for utility. The green/blue make any three color combination powerful, most of the cards banned in this format are in those colors. The ability to ramp and prevent the casting of spells is already powerful enough, without the addition of black to remove threats and keep hands empty... It’s no wonder that sultai is a popular combination.
Temur
Tumblr media
Associated Commanders: Animar, Soul of Elements, Riku of Two Reflections, Intet, the Dreamer, Yasova Dragonclaw and Surrak Dragonclaw.
Temur also has some very powerful commanders, In this case Animar and Riku are the two I see the most. Temur also has the green/blue combination meaning you have to be quick to keep up with a temur deck, especially if it’s animar. The red in temur gives rise to some powerful creatures like Inferno Titan and Kiki Jiki, Mirror Breaker, as well as other powerful effects like Warstorm Surge and Insurrection. Look out for that Craterhoof Behemoth

Maine’s Big Idea
Another quiet day; Maine was mumbling to himself while scrolling through his tablet, and Patty had sunken into the comfortable divot in the couch to watch TV.
But this relaxing peace was suddenly shattered by Maine’s screaming.
“Pats! Holy fuck!” he yelled, excitedly shoving his tablet in the opossum’s face. “I’ve made progress!”
Patty tried to ignore the raccoon, struggling to keep her eyes fixated on the cartoony humans on TV. But eventually, like every other time Maine became excited about something, she gave in.
“What?” she asked, “What’d you do?”
“My time deck!” the raccoon replied as he pulled the tablet away, “I have an idea to make it less terrible to play against, but still flavourful enough for me to make a fanwalker!”
“Okay, how?” Patty continued, relieved to have the screen away from her eyes.
“I’ll take my time deck and make it my Intet deck!” Maine said, “But with time stuff, like suspend.”
“Okay, that still doesn’t answer my question.” Patty repeated, actually pulling her gaze from the TV. “You’re just putting Intet in your time deck?”
Maine was a complex critter, a storyteller. For as long as Patty’s known him, Maine has built decks based on lore and potential storytelling for a fanwalker of his, not game-ending combos or efficient strategies. So to hear that he was simply adding a card to a deck seemed out-of-character.
“Well, I’m taking a few core cards from my time deck, then add Intet, then build from there.” Maine explained, the aforementioned cards in paw. “I’m thinking Paradox Haze and Chronozoa. That should be enough from the time deck; infinite wall.”
“And Intet?” Patty inquired, “What’ll she bring to the party? Her ability isn’t exactly upkeep reliant.”
“I’m thinking of adding dragons and illusions.” Maine said, scrolling through card price listings on his tablet. “The time stuff will be what uses the multiple upkeeps.”
“Pick one.” Patty suggested, “Having two tribal things is too much. Besides, if you want to play illusions, you need Lord of the Unreal. Not worth it otherwise.”
“I beg to differ.” Maine replied, leering at the opossum with his crittery eyes. “Not every illusion deck needs him.”
“An illusion lord that also gives them hexproof.” Patty lined out, apparently wielding greater knowledge of Magic strategy than the raccoon. “Yeah, they need him.”
“Okay genius,” Maine began, “You come up with some way for me to combine Intet with my time deck. Plus a few more things.”
“Like what?” she sighed.
“I kinda sorta wonder if I can sneak in some Ugin-inspired magics.” Maine said. “The fanwalker is in the design phase right now, and I’m trying to figure out what they could do. I’m thinking Dominarian, from the alternate timeline.”
“Alright, you want some stuff that needs upkeeps, maybe some dragons, maybe some Ugin things, probably morph, manifest was terrible.” the opossum noted. “All time or dragon themed.”
“Yep!” said the raccoon.
Patty looked at the grinning critter, wondering what was going through his mind. So many things he wanted to do with the deck, so many conditions and themes. But at least it was all in good fun, she did enjoy hearing his ideas.
As Maine rambled on about what he could possibly add to the deck, Patty lightly tapped him on the nose, which shut him up for a good second.

Oh man, I made this deck last week that I'm super happy with. It basically revolves around casting spells off the top of my library. Recently I was playing a game with a friend, where by the end of my last turn I had 6 cards in exile, 1 card in my graveyard (Primal Command, which I'd just used to shuffle my yard into my deck), 48 cards in my library, 44 permanents on my field, and a storm count at 25 thanks to Mind's Desire and a Magus of the Mind. Sorry for ranting, I just loved this play.(1/2)
The deck uses Intet the Dreamer, mostly for flavor reasons, and I'd be interested to know if you had any tips for improving it (note I'm on a bit of a budget). If you'd like to see the list, pm me and I'll send you the link since I can't send links through asks. (2/2)
Reblog it here and I’ll check it out when I get off work! I love Intet and would love to make a deck for her so I already have some ideas.

puns and dragons
That's my brand!I believe I've mentioned before that I like telling puns, and I have a rule that if I think of a pun I have to make it. But if I think a pun is bad, then you know it's really bad. I actually have Temur dragons EDH deck led by Intet the Dreamer, and featuring my favourite planeswalker Sarkhan Unbroken! Thanks for the ask, sorry I didn't answer right away!
