I wrote a lovers-to-enemies toxic yuri fic earlier this year and cannot recommend that vibe enough. It was sooo fun watching this relationship break down fifteen years before the characters appeared as NPCs in my current ttrpg game.

When we got told we were writing flavor text on basics for Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, I freaked out. One, because exciting first time thing I got to be a part of! Two, because it felt so sacreligous to be doing it! Still weirds me out a little, but it's cool that some of my concepts are on what might be someone's favorite basic land.

Hey Mark! Is there a chance we could get flavor text on basic lands in premier sets? I used to love Vanilla creatures BECAUSE they had flavor text instead of abilities, it helped flesh out the world but we're seeing less of them nowadays so itd be nice if basics could take that role since non-full art ones typically lack rules text of any kind

We tested this and players strongly preferred the basic lands with just the large mana symbol. That doesn't mean we'll never do other types. Dungeons & Dragon sets have flavor text on basic land. The set just needs a strong reason.

Do you know if it was accidental or intentional that Loot is actually the second character in Magic with that name? The first was the main character in two short stories written by Michael A Stackpole, a planeswalker with amnesia (this was a loooong while ago, so he was an Oldwalker, technically).

My gut was it wasn't intentional, but I had nothing to do with it, so I don't definitively know.

She swears that she isn’t the daughter of The Thing (1982). She’s a totally normal human you guys. She shouldn’t even be at this school. She likes normal human things like not having her blood tested.
