hello hello 🕊 twenty, she/her, here in search of other 18+, adv.lit–novella writers interested in creating a small, tight-knit grp of 4 — 6 people on discord. this ad is targeted towards detailed writers, with an interest in character building, found family/twisted entanglements including friendship/enmity/romance, darker themes, plot development, and arcs. this is for those who may usually write 1x1's, but want to try out grp for a change in what will hopefully be a small, cosy, relaxed group of like-minded peers <3.

ideally, there will be one main rp plot and thread for the 'main characters' overarching storyline. furthermore, side threads where the ocs are on other adventures are all encouraged, as are text threads, side ocs, alt-verses, friendship side-quests, shipping threads, and parallel 1x1 threads (set in the same world). to surmise, there will be one main plot with an adv.lit–novella literacy minimum, but you can all create various threads set in the same world/with the same ocs that may not be as lengthy and for these threads, the literacy can be lit/semi-lit or lower.

this grp is NOT a case of 'i create the plot alone and carry it on my back, and you have no input at all'. the grp will be jointly created, and the plot will be jointly developed from a range of base options that i'll offer, so it will be a shared collaboration at its heart. the base plot options utilise the genres of: dark academia (university setting, mind games) // white-collar crime (casino setting, high stakes) // horror – folie a deux edition (small town setting). other themes will include psychological horror, moral dilemmas, and philosophical explorations.

the ocs' age range will span from 19–25, no younger and no older. brainstorms, headcanons, aesthetics, memes, tiktoks, and pinboards will be welcomed and encouraged ! ghosting is discouraged with hiatuses as an exception to the rule. the gist is if you do not contribute, then you may be replaced. though, after we're settled, activity checks will be lax, and as long as you're active in at least ooc and shorter threads, then you're fine.

final note that if you like this ad, i will be asking for an rp sample of yours, info on what gender you'd like to write as in this rp, what pairings you're open to, and a triggers list. this is to ensure the 'likeminded' aspect of the grp is intact and to ensure we're all compatible in the ways that matter.

alright. know what? with Secrets of the Obscure right around the corner and plenty of new Mists-related sky island settings coming with it, I'll just bite the bullet and interest-check a little something I've been turning in my head for a long, long while.

would YOU be interested in a Mists-based GW2 roleplay guild that uses a lore compliant multiverse system to allow canon, canon-adjacent, lore-breaking, and otherwise 'contradictory' muses to coexist in the same setting?

simply put: every writer's cast would be set in their own self-contained universe. as such, everyone could bring whatever muses they want with their own personal headcanons, and no one could dictate what is or isn't canon for anyone else. so long as your muses are GW2-based, you're good to go! bring your Commanders, bring your canon-divergent OCs, bring your canon muses-- and yes, even the ones that are 'supposed' to be dead. who can say what might have happened in a strange world far across the Mists, after all?

neutral hubs and in-character safety guardrails would be in place to keep all muses on a relatively even playing field regardless of their power, history, and prestige, too. play hardball if you like, but it might not end quite the way you'd hope. the main rule would be to maintain good OOC etiquette at all times: no godmodding, no metagaming, no theft, don't blend IC and OOC, and so-on.

i've been thinking about this for so long and perhaps the right thing hasn't come up for me because i'm not the one who's supposed to come up with it, but there has to be a better tag out there for roleplays and blogs that accept people under 21 other than 18+.

i love this community and i've admired it from afar for awhile because i was too young to join and now that i'm actually of age it still feels like there's nothing out there for people around the age of 18 - 20. if i typed #+18 rp right now i'd get a bunch of smut roleplays. we as the younger community have got to come together and cultivate a group for ourselves, the same way the +21, +25 and +30 groups have done. so please i guess, if you're between the ages of 18 - 20 and do rp or if you're 20+ and would like to support this, leave a like or reblog so i know others are interested.

i've been way too nervous about doing this because i barely have any connections in the rp community that aren't long gone but i realize to make new connections and friendships you actually have to step out there.

INSIGHT: *You notice an interest check for an upcoming roleplay server.*

Have you ever been playing Baldur’s Gate 3 and felt overwhelmed by the sudden and inexplicable need to write? Have you ever joined a server and realized that the plot has deviated so drastically from the game that you’re not sure what’s going on? Have you ever wanted to start from the beginning?

CONSIDER: BALDUR’S GATE 3: RESTART, AN 18+ ROLEPLAY SERVER.

This server, if enough people show interest in it, is set to follow BG3’s main story nearly beat for beat, with minor changes to account for player choice and freedom of play. Our plot begins on the ravaged beach, and ends… well, who knows. Here are a few proposed features:

Play the canon cast! From Gale to Zevlor, the options are relatively limitless. A few late-game characters won’t be available until we reach that point — or until we find a way to fast track their availability!

Make your Tavs — we are working on a custom system to keep track of each one and make sure everyone feels welcome!

Focus on group scenes: BG3 is full of teamwork, bonding, and adventuring with your party. We’re working on a way to put a focus on group scenes for main plot, though of course this doesn’t mean you can’t focus on personal scenes, too!

Enjoy custom quests, and rewards for completing them! These are in progress; BG3 has a big world! Only seems fair to populate it with lots of things to do.

Thrive in a small, tight-knit community. While public servers are great, it can be overwhelming to have hundreds of people clamoring to join scenes — we’re planning on enacting a member limit, to keep things active but comfortably manageable.

Write for adults, with adults!

To be honest, I could bring myself to get with the times and add an 'Affiliated with' and 'Mains' section on Vivian's Pinned Post like all the youngins on here, but I'm cursed with the affliction of threads on this blog rarely extending past two notes due to the fact I have abysmal luck when it comes to pulling roleplay partners that won't vanish/deactivate on me, so realistically speaking, @illholy, @spiritpyro, and @dis--parity would be the only ones I could say I'm affiliated with... while my mains would probably be a constant '???', just because I'm uncertain on who even considers me a main at this point.

I mean, I'm fine with not being considered an affiliate in return, especially since Judith is permanently a part of Vivian's default canon verse for example regardless, but mains wise, I don't wanna assume stuff or be presumptuous... so for the longest time, I opt not to update my Pinned Post. Like, perhaps one day, Vivian would end up being important to more muses, but she tends to not receive much engagement compared to other blogs, I'm unconsciously all, 'God, who even wants this trash girl as their main?'.

Granted, I know I should probably be more confident about my OC since I've been writing her for ages now; only... even after all the time, I still can't help being self-conscious about Vivian, since I get the sense I'm the black sheep of the RPC and I know her personality can be a lot.

Something I've been learning/hearing a lot from hanging around free-for-all rp spaces is

"No one cares about your character as much as you do".

Which is not a judgement but is to say that, at best, people don't know they should be interested until they are interested. If you want to drop characterization you have to hand craft reasons to do so.

This is also the difference between original creations and fan creations. When you are making fan creations you can generally expect the audience to know the baseline that you're building off of, which tells them something about whether they should be interested. Original creating not only doesn't have that, but it's hard to get that perspective because YOU the creator DO have the baseline. in ur head.

Anyway I guess my point is, like, don't wait for people to ask the right questions to prove they're interested or picking up on things or whatever. Assume they are not going to. That doesn't mean that what you're making isn't interesting or worth sharing + you don't need their permission anyway.
