I have put some serious thought into this over the past while. This isn't a decision I'm making lightly, and even now I'm still wrestling with it, BUT.

I'm going to move Chongyun over to @mmriesoftvat. It's getting increasingly harder for me to keep up with 2 blogs, both genshin related, and having to swap back and forth between browsers/tabs/blogs and trying to remember what I owe and where.

If I consolidate my blogs, it'll be a lot easier for me to keep track of what's what and where, I'll only have to worry about one window and where I'm at. PLUS, I'd be able to keep myself updated on my phone without worrying what I'm missing/needing to jump on my computer to see what post got notifications.

PLEASE follow me over on my multi! The change isn't going to happen overnight, it's probably going to take me awhile to move drafts and headcanons over, but I feel like this is the best decision for me.

i am laughing so hard.

so my boyfriend and i love sparkling cider. we tend to get it for special occasions. it just so happened that on thanksgiving, the store was completely sold out, so i got one, but he didn't, and he was big sad about it.

so yesterday, he went and bought more. two more, one for me, and one for him. these drinks were supposed to go with dinner, a homemade smoked brisket. i was excited for the food, he was excited for the food, and we both completely forgot about the sparkling cider that he put in the freezer. they were SUPPOSED to be in the freezer for about a half hour so they'd be nice and chilled for dinner.

well, they were in there for far longer.

so enter today, when about 45 minutes ago i got hungry and finally pulled myself off my phone and out of bed so i could stumble into the kitchen to make food. i opened the freezer to find this.

i was REALLY confused at first. like "wait, what is this mess? why is there foam in the freezer? and then i had a cartoon-esque flashback of my boyfriend holding one of these bottles out to me the evening prior, excitedly telling me he bought two of them. and the lightbulb flash went off and i was like 'OH YEAH!'

then i panicked.

leaving the freezer door open, i immediately turned on the water and let it slowly warm up to boiling hot temperatures so i could stick my hand and a sponge in the frozen foamy mess, where i proceeded to pull out shards of glass after shards of glass, sticking everything into the sink first. then i had to pull out other packages of frozen food to try and find all the stray shards of glass before carefully throwing away the bottle. i ended up with a battle scar somewhere in the process, i don't know when. i just looked at my hand and was like "oh, is that blood? am i bleeding? yeah, that's blood."

the other bottle THANKFULLY did not explode. but it is frozen and leaking, and i am leaving it in the sink to let it slowly melt and hopefully keep it from exploding too. because wow we don't need that.

but the moral of the story is, don't leave fancy drinks in the freezer overnight. they don't like it and will find creative ways to let you know they hate the cold.

there's a haunted expression in chongyun's eyes as they stare off into the distance, over ren's head. chongyun can still recall so vividly how much lord morax had done in terms of chaos in the past, and it seems as though ren remembers too.

"i still haven't forgotten the panda costume incident," chongyun whispers. blinking a couple of times, they refocus their gaze on ren, trying to push the horrid costume out of their mind.

"i want to experiment. do you have any peppers on you?"

❝  ...  ❞   morax?  at  the  mere  mention  of  his  name,  ren  (  wisely  )  chooses  to  retreat  a  few  steps  —  just  as  a  PRECAUTION.  if  deities  are  fickle  creatures  unbound  by  mundane  concepts  such  as  rationality,  surely  he  must  exemplify  those  traits  most  of  all.  ❝  whatever  he's  planning,  you  can  expect  that  so-called  gift  to  come  with  equivalent  cost ...  i  would  be  careful  if  i  were  you. it may start at eating popsicle sticks, but as for what comes next ...  ❞ words trail off. it's a bit OMINOUS. ( though perhaps that's his intent. )

He is here, questionably perhaps. Morax approaches with no caution, and presents the other with two rocks. One is a pretty blue and the other a passionate red. Which so ever is taken will bring about Things.

The blue will give them the ability to Throw It Back and enchant anyone. But the glutes can speak.

The red offers the ability to eat literally anything but everyone can see what was eaten and will always comment on it. Don’t eat booty, just a warning.

Normally, NORMALLY, Chongyun would instinctively reach for the blue rock. Blue is their favorite color, the one they resonate the most with. But knowing Lord Morax, either one is sure to come with some sort of gimmick. Chongyun has the distinct feeling he doesn't want either of them, but something is telling him not to pick blue.

Chongyun's hand is even hovering above the rocks, moving back and forth, unable to decide. As much as he wants to grab the blue one, he forces himself to go against all instincts, and grabs the red one.

"Thank you, Lord Morax," Chongyun says, forcing a smile on his face. They don't have any idea what they're getting themself into, but past encounters tell Chongyun that SOMETHING is going to happen regardless.

At least the red rock is a pretty shade of red.

'I made this with mist flowers.' Diona shoves the icy drink into Chongyun's hands, barely meeting his eyes. 'So uh... sorry about the last one or... whatever.'

"Oh-" Chongyun stammers in protest as Diona hands him the drink. He hadn't expected her to apologize over that, he'd known what he was getting himself into at the time.

Though, it'd be rude for him to turn her down when she'd gone out of her way to make a special drink for them. "Thank you!" Chongyun smiles wide as they take the drink from her hands politely. "It wasn't a big deal, but I appreciate the effort."

To her credit, the drink is really good. The chill from the mistflower feels good against his throat, and he can feel his yang energy settling down into a steady calm. "This is delicious!"

They ALREADY do independent work, and are quite successful at it. Still, something about this ad is almost tempting. It'd be worth looking into actually. Chongyun could easily find out what the company is, who they work for, and if this is a scam or not.

With a hum, Chongyun settles back in his chair and reads the ad over again, before deciding to comply. At the very least, Chongyun wouldn't be losing a whole lot, the pros to this are far too tempting to pass up.

So, Chongyun decides to follow the instructions, even finding the very tin needed lying around in a pile of junk! With another hum, Chongyun decides to send it off in the morning, making a mental note of it. But hey, if this isn't a scam, extra money is always a plus.

"Chongyun," Xiao addresses the other as he appears within sight with a soft rush of adeptal and anemo energies. He takes a step closer, hesitating only a moment to look the other over, as though searching him over for any injury. Once he was certain the other was unharmed, or at least enough for him to feel like he wasn't in any danger, he continued.

"..Did everything end well with your friends? I had some things to investigate on my own since then, so I haven't had time to return." However such a question was merely an attempt for him to strike up conversation, attempting to get better with his communication.

Little more was necessarily needed to be said once he took another step closer, pressing a quiet kiss to the corner of the exorcist's lips.

"..Are you well?"

There's always that flutter of excitement in Chongyun's stomach every time Xiao appears. It's no longer such a rare encounter, but Chongyun loves each time anyway. Their hands automatically reach out for Xiao's, unable to hide the blush and smile that instinctively seems to appear whenever Xiao shows up.

"Everything is fine," Chongyun reassures him. "I'm not injured, and neither are they." They fall silent at the kiss, their blush turning a more pronounced shade of red. Grasping Xiao's hands within their own, they return the kiss, keeping their own actions just as gentle.

"Are you?" Chongyun asks. "You weren't hurt in your own investigation?"
