NSFW I can’t remember exactly what I requested and it was kinda long, but basically sorority y/n is interested in dalton because he is artsy and unlike the other weird frat guys at the school and he is interested in her because she is beautiful y/n and Chris is like whoa really y’all are so different, go for her now Dolphin! And they are just very different but opposites attract! And like maybe she motions to him at a party and things get steamy ???
Original Request: NSFW. I wanted to request something smutty where Dalton and maybe sorority reader he knows from a general class secretly like each other or maybe she makes eyes at him at a party and he doesn’t think she would be into him and thinks nothing of it… then she drags him out of nowhere into a closet or something! Idk but I like the idea of a sorority girl being totally into his artsy vibes and him being totally shocked by it but really liking it 😂
A/N: Thank you so much for your request!! I know you have been waiting for a while 😭 I’m so sorry but thanks for your patience! I hope this gets close to what your original request said, so please let me know what you think! By the way, two posts in the same week, that’s not so bad is it? Also I don’t know what has gotten into me lately with the REALLY long fics.
Word Count: 5.5k
Warnings: NSFW, smut, language, mentions of alcohol, mentions of other characters getting drunk, kind of outgoing reader x shy Dalton (PLEASE KEEP SCROLLING IF THIS TYPE OF CONTENT MAKES YOU UNCOMFORTABLE)

Hard To Get
Dalton was late for class. He was running to his philosophy class as fast as his legs allowed him, blaming sleep deprivation for his lack of sleep and his alarms for not waking him up on time. Unfortunately, it happened a lot, more than he would like to admit, but sometimes he couldn’t help it.
Dealing with the aftermath of everything he had to go through because of his ‘gift’ meant long nights doing anything but sleeping, and no matter how much he wanted to have a normal sleeping schedule, it was hard to get the amount of sleep he was supposed to.
He slowed down a little bit once he made it to the building, trying to stabilise his breathing as he walked to the door. He carefully opened it and walked in, giving his professor an ‘I’m sorry I’m late again’ look. He only looked at him in annoyance when the entire class was distracted by him for a moment, but as he continued talking about the subject on the projector screen everyone looked back at him. Well, almost everyone.
Y/N was sitting nearly at the top, giving her a full view of the classroom and when her eyes landed on Dalton, she couldn’t take them off of him. She followed him with her eyes until he found a seat a few rows below her, brushing his hair back and pulling out his laptop.
For the rest of the class, Y/N she had a hard time focusing on whatever the professor was so passionately talking about, she was sure it was something important but his hair, it looked so delicate and soft she had to fight the urge to touch it.
She wasn’t sure how much time had passed but the professor finally dismissed the class and Dalton immediately got up, putting his laptop back on his bag as he started walking.
“Let’s go” Y/N said to Annie, who had been sitting there the entire time, but Y/N barely acknowledged her existence.
“Wait, I need to gather my stuff”
Y/N ignored her again, just taking her laptop in her hands and quickly walking down the stairs, hoping to catch up with him, but then realised she didn’t have a plan to actually talk to him, so instead of thinking of something she purposely bumped into him, hoping he would talk to her.
“Oh, sorry” Y/N said, smiling at him.
Dalton just nodded, he wanted to say something back but it was like his voice was completely gone when he met her eyes.
“Hurry up, I wanna buy a coffee before our next class” Annie said, grabbing her by the arm and dragging her out of there.
Dalton watched as the two girls exited the class, the sticker on her laptop being the only thing he knew about her: she was part of a sorority.
⋆ ★ ⋆ ★
“Great, now he’s never gonna talk to me” She said, releasing herself from Annie’s clasp.
“Who?”
Y/N rolled her eyes at her, looking back and smiling when she saw Dalton struggle a bit to carry the big bag that protected his canvas.
Curious, Annie followed her eyes to see why she was smiling like that, her head tilted when she saw Dalton “Who is that?”
“I don’t know, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him before”
“Well now you have, and you’re taking a good look at him, huh?” Annie teased, making Y/N blush as she rolled her eyes again.
“It’s just nice to see someone like him”
“Like him… how?” She questioned, confused.
“Not an asshole frat boy”
“He looks like a frat boy, but not like an asshole, I’ll give you that”
Y/N let out an annoyed sigh “Come on, we’re gonna be late”
⋆ ★ ⋆ ★
When Dalton was done with his classes of the day, he went back to his dorm with a couple of sodas, putting them in the mini fridge to keep them cold until Chris got there with their lunch. Luckily it didn’t take her long, knocking on his door just a few minutes later.
They had their usual lunch and after that, they were both determined to finish their schoolwork before midnight. Dalton had no problem with that, given he could start something and finish it in one sitting, but Chris wasn’t helping at all, she had been talking about the crazy stories she has heard about the Halloween parties over the years. Apparently teenagers cared a little too much about it but for all the wrong reasons.
“And last year someone crashed a car into one of the sororities-”
As soon as Dalton heard that word he remembered the little interaction he had earlier, with her on his mind there was no way he could fully focus on his sketchbook. He was still wishing he asked for her name. He didn’t know anything about her, except that she had beautiful eyes, that she was in a sorority and that she wasn’t in art school, so philosophy class would probably be his only chance to talk to her, if he ever built up the courage to do it. But maybe he didn’t have to, he could easily just keep his distance and hope for the best.
“Hey, are you listening to me?” Chris asked all of the sudden, raising her voice a little bit. Dalton looked at her with widened eyes, wondering for how long he had been out.
“Huh? Uh- yeah, sorry”
“What’s going on with you?”
“Nothing” Dalton replied, hoping Chris will just drop it “Just thinking”
“Oh, I get it” Chris dramatically shut her laptop and crossed her arms at Dalton, almost as if she was waiting for an explanation.
“What?” He questioned, a little confused.
“You met someone more interesting, spill” Dalton furrowed his eyebrows and shook his head “Come on, dude! Last time you acted all weird and mysterious you ended up possessed”
“I don’t appreciate you bringing that up-”
“And you’ve been staring at the wall for a little too long. So go on, I wanna know”
Dalton rolled his eyes and focused on his sketchbook again, he should’ve known Chris would never drop anything “I told you, I’m just thinking”
“About what?”
“School?” He replied, but it didn’t sound as confident as he had hoped.
“Alright” Chris raised her hands in defeat and opened her laptop again “If you don’t wanna tell me that’s fine, but I want you remember that I tell you everything, like a good friend does”
He sighed as he thought about it. Maybe telling her wasn't the worst thing in the world, it’s not like anything happened anyway, but he knew that once Chris found out she would never shut up about it and his plan of admiring her from a distance would not happen.
“I met someone today” He simply said, but Chris signalled him to continue “She’s in my philosophy class and I’m pretty sure that’s the only class we have in common, so…”
“What’s her name?”
“I don’t know”
“You don’t know her name?”
Dalton shook his head before continuing “We barely talked for like a second… well, she did the talking” Chris furrowed her eyebrows “It wasn’t really a conversation, I just bumped into her on accident and she apologised and then left”
“That’s all?” She asked and Dalton simply nodded “Oh, bumping into each other, that’s a classic” Dalton rolled his eyes and stood up from his chair “That’s very romantic and all but you have to talk to her next time”
“Here we go” He said under his breath.
“I mean it, in all the time we have been friends I’ve never seen you approach a girl” “So?”
“So… it’s time you do it. Talk to her and take her out on a date” “That sounds like a lovely idea, it really does, but I really doubt she’d ever be into me”
“Why do you think that?” Chris asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
“She’s in a sorority, and I’m… me”
“Dalton, come on, don’t say that” She grabbed his arm and made him sit next to her “Just because she’s in a sorority doesn’t mean she wouldn’t go out with you”
“Don’t they date frat dudes exclusively?”
“I don’t know, I don’t think so” She replied, but a smile appeared on her face when she scanned him “Luckily you look like one”
Dalton let out a loud sigh as he left his bed, shaking his head repeatedly “It doesn’t matter, I guess we’ll never find out”
⋆ ★ ⋆ ★
“I think he’s an artist” Y/N said as she stared at her ceiling.
“Who?”
“The guy from the philosophy class”
“Oh my god, you have to stop talking about him” Y/N was about to say something, but stopped herself when she realised she didn’t wanna talk about anything else “How do you know he’s an artist anyway? I thought you said you had never seen him before”
“No, but he was carrying a big bag in the shape of a canvas so I assume that’s what it was”
“Right” Annie said, making it obvious how little interest she had.
“You know, I didn’t judge you when you had a thing for Nick” Y/N tried to make her feel bad for being so rude about her crush when she’s had far worse taste.
“You should’ve, he was a waste of time”
Y/N laughed as she remembered all the stupid parties they hosted just so Nick would come over, but rolled her eyes when she remembered how insufferable he was. At least none of the girls liked him anymore so he was officially banned from their parties, and considering how petty they were, they were probably banned from their parties too.
“You should invite him to our Halloween party” Annie said out of nowhere.
“Nick?” Y/N looked at her with a mixture of confusion and disgust on her face.
“Obviously not Nick, the artist”
“Annie you’re a genius” She exclaimed excitedly, sitting up on her bed and opening her bag to check how many flyers they had left.
“Sure, if that will make you stop talking about him” Annie said under her breath, hoping Y/N wouldn’t hear her. But she did.
⋆ ★ ⋆ ★
The next philosophy class was a couple of days later, and since it was their last class that day Dalton decided to get there a little earlier to try to sit a little closer to her without being too obvious. Unfortunately it took him a little too long to get there, and the closest seat to her was one row below, so he would have to settle there.
Her eyes lit up when she saw him coming up the stairs, a smile creeping her lips when he stopped on the row below her. At least inviting him to the party would be easier now that he was sitting closer to them, but just as she was about to talk to him, the professor dimmed the lights and turned on the projector.
She decided to wait until he was talking about the subject so he would be too distracted by his own class to pay attention to the students, so once he started she tried to get a little closer to Dalton.
“Hey” She whispered, trying to get his attention without interrupting the class, but he probably didn’t catch it “Hey” She repeated a little louder.
“Me?” Dalton asked, making her chuckle.
“Yes, you. What’s your name?”
“Dalton”
She stared at him as she waited for him to ask her name, chuckling again when he never did “So you’re not gonna ask my name?” She teased.
“Oh, uh- sorry. What’s your name?”
“Y/N” Dalton blushed as he remembered how many times he had been wondering her name for the last couple of days “Listen, we’re having a halloween party tomorrow, you should come” She said handing him a flyer.
Dalton took it nervously, touching her hand for a split second “Thanks” He whispered as he examined it.
Y/N felt a chill run down her spine when his paint-stained hand brushed hers “It says it starts at 7:00 but you can come anytime you want. Oh, and you should dress up, that’s the fun part”
“Silence please” The professor said, suddenly raising his voice.
“Thanks, I’ll be there” He lowered his voice and smiled softly at her, blushing again when she smiled back.
“I’ll see you there”
⋆ ★ ⋆ ★
Dalton literally sprinted back to his dorm, desperately looking for an outfit that would be good enough for a costume party. He wasn’t planning on going to a halloween party so he definitely didn’t even bother to think of a costume, but right now he was regretting his decision.
A knock on the door interrupted his mission. Dalton rushed to open it, giving Chris a worried look when she stepped into his room.
“What’s going on?” She asked, copying his worried expression.
“Y/N invited me to her halloween party” The panic in his voice would make anyone think that was a tragedy.
“Y/N… the sorority girl?”
“Yes, and it’s a costume party and she told me to dress up”
“Go Dalton! Well done; so, how did you talk to her?” He looked at her with annoyance “What? Why are you acting like this is a problem?”
“Because it is! I don’t have a costume and all my clothes are lame” He was hoping Chris would help him come up with a solution, but instead she was just nodding “I’m just not gonna go” He grunted dramatically, falling on his bed.
“Yes you are” Dalton shook his head, annoying Chris at how stubborn he was when it came to girls “We’re going because not only are you gonna regret missing her party, but you’ll also have to face her next week with an excuse as to why you didn’t go”
Dalton thought about what Chris just said. She was right, there was no way he was missing his chance just because he didn't have a proper costume, and if he didn’t like it they could just leave early.
“You’re right” He said, sitting up on his bed.
“Yes, and don’t worry about the costume, I have a cowboy hat, a matching bandana and a belt that I’m sure it’s big enough-”
“Of course you do”
Chris rolled her eyes “Do you want my help or not?”
“Yes, I’m sorry” Dalton stood up and followed Chris to her dorm.
Once he was back in his room Chris assured him any trousers and a button up shirt would be enough, so he looked through his clothes and found a few that could work. He tried them on, but decided on a black and brown flannel shirt that really made him look like a cowboy.
The next day, his nerves were growing by the second as he fixed the bandana around his neck, rolling his eyes when he scanned his whole costume.
‘Dumb’ He thought to himself.
“Dalton, are you ready?” Chris yelled from outside.
He took a deep breath as he slowly opened the door, ready for any critiques he was sure he was about to hear.
“Oh”
“What?”
“Nothing, it looks good” Dalton stared at her, knowing she would find something wrong with it “Maybe roll up your sleeves a little, like up to your elbows” Chris started to roll his shirt, already relieved at how much better it looked “That way you can really show off your arms”
“Chris-”
“And lose a few buttons, jesus” She undid a few buttons, uncovering his chest.
“Okay, that’s enough” He said, pushing her hands.
“There you go, it looks fantastic!”
“Thank you, for everything” Dalton was genuinely thankful, if it weren’t for Chris he wouldn’t have a costume right now and probably would’ve skipped the party “You look great too, uh-”
“Maleficent”
“Maleficent” He repeated “Allow me” Dalton tilted his head and his hat, pretending to be a real cowboy as he extended his hand for her to grab.
⋆ ★ ⋆ ★
The party had started about an hour ago, and apparently that was enough time for a few students to get absolutely wasted. The house was packed and new people were coming through the door every minute, but unfortunately for Y/N, there were no signs of Dalton yet.
She went to the bathroom and stared at the mirror one last time, smiling as she fixed her hair. She decided to dress up as a F1 driver, but instead of the regular racewear suit she had a tight leotard and a tiny skirt with the Ferrari colours and brand logos all over them, a pair of black boots complementing her costume.
“Y/N, I think he’s here” She heard Annie yell from the other side of the door.
“Where?” Y/N asked as soon as she opened it, immediately making her way to where Annie pointed “Dalton!” She exclaimed when she saw him “I’m so happy you made it”
“Y/N, hi” He replied nervously “Uh- this is my friend, Chris”
“Hi, I’m Y/N, nice you meet you”
“Y/N! I’ve heard so much about you” Dalton’s eyes widened as he subtly hit her with his elbow.
Y/N blushed as she let out a nervous laugh “You guys look great! Glad to see you really dressed up”
“Thanks, you too” Dalton examined her costume but quickly looked back up when he noticed the revealing outfit “Are you like a sexy… wait no- sorry, I didn’t mean-”
“I’m gonna stop you before you accidentally say I’m not sexy”
Dalton chuckled nervously and Chris couldn't help but laugh at how easily Dalton messed up his words when he liked someone.
“Do you guys need anything?” She asked, but she was mainly asking Dalton.
“No, we’re okay”
“Well, if you do just come find me” She started to walk away, but she winked at Dalton before she turned around and disappeared.
Dalton could feel the heat creep up his neck and taint his cheeks. He swallowed hard as he tried to brush it off and looked back at his friend, who was giving him a shocked look.
“Why are you playing so hard to get?”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean” She motioned at where Y/N just walked off to, but Dalton didn’t seem to understand “It’s pretty obvious she likes you back”
“I don’t think she does”
“She literally just winked at you”
Dalton’s jaw tensed. He wanted to talk to her but just thinking about it made him nervous, how could he possibly hold a conversation with her? What would they even talk about?
After processing the wink and what it could possibly mean, Chris tried to convince Dalton to get some drinks, dragging him to the alcohol table as she told him to relax, but after remembering how terrible he felt the last time he got drunk he decided not to.
“You drink, I’ll look after you”
“Aww, so sweet” Chris said in a sarcastic tone before taking the tequila shot, the alcohol going down her throat like it was water.
As the night went on everyone was getting even more drunk, leading them to do stupid things they would never do if they were sober, including Chris, who was about to jump into the pool with her clothes on.
“Chris stop, you can’t”
“Yes I can, everyone else is doing it”
“Please don’t make me drag you out of that pool” He said, watching as everyone in it got uncomfortably close to each other.
“Dalton relax” A voice he didn’t recognise spoke behind him “They’re all our friends and I promise you they’re not weirdos” Annie said as Y/N stood next to her.
“See?” Chris looked back at Dalton.
“You’re Chris, right?” Annie asked her, and she just nodded “I’m Annie. Come on, I’ll jump with you”
Chris looked at Y/N and then back at Dalton, quickly understanding Annie’s intentions “Go for it” She whispered to Dalton before smiling at Annie and taking her hand, both of them jumping to the pool as everyone around them cheered. Dalton sighed loudly, knowing for sure Chris would regret jumping in the morning.
“I think she’ll be okay” Y/N took a step closer to him, making his breathing heavier.
“Yeah, I guess”
She wrapped his arms around his neck, the distance between their lips shortening “Have you been drinking?” Y/N asked him, and he quickly shook his head.
“I don’t really drink” He replied with a shaky voice, his eyes switching between her lips and her eyes.
“Good, me neither” Dalton leaned in to close the gap, feeling the need to know how her lips tasted, but Y/N pulled away and grabbed his hand “Come with me”
She dragged him through the crowd of people that were drunkenly dancing and up the stairs, making her way to one of the doors at the end of the hallway.
“Don’t worry, this is my room” She whispered before pulling him inside.
As soon as the door was closed and locked their lips crashed into a passionate kiss. Dalton was nervous at first, but once he got used to her lips he cupped her face to kiss her with more intensity. They were messily kicking off their shoes as his hands started exploring her body, running them up and down her back and then to her hips, bringing her body closer to him.
Y/N let out a surprised moan when she felt his big hands on her hips and his growing cock pressing against her, and almost on instinct she grabbed him by the collar of his shirt to guide him to her bed, slowly making him walk backwards until the back of his knees met the edge of the mattress.
She broke the kiss and gently pushed him to her bed, making him sit on the edge as she took his cowboy hat and put it on her own head. Dalton was looking up at her with hungry eyes as his hands that never left her hips squeezed them softly. She bit her lip and straddled him, sinking her knees on either side of him as she went for his lips again, but stopped when Dalton let out a shaky breath.
“Are you okay?”
“Yes” He breathed.
“Are you sure? We can stop-”
“No, please” He replied in a desperate tone, eyes falling to her lips.
Once he said that, she kissed him again, but only for a few more seconds. She started kissing down his jawline to his neck while intercepting gentle bites with sucks on the sensitive skin, leaving a trail of wet kisses. She wanted to take her time there, so she kept kissing as one of her hands went to his hair to slightly yank his head up to give her more space.
Dalton could feel a groan threatening to leave his throat, finally giving in when she kissed a sweet spot that made him moan loudly. He was brushing his hands over her exposed thighs as his teeth sank into the bottom of his lip, and he knew he couldn’t be blamed for the tent forming in his trousers.
“I want you” Y/N purred as she started to roll her hips, earning another moan from Dalton.
Dalton nodded as he desperately kissed her again, hands sliding up her thighs and landing on her ass, his fingers spreading to encompass as much of her fabric-covered skin as he could, rocking her deeper against him.
She moaned softly, placing both hands on his shoulders as his grasp on her ass tightened, fingers digging into the fabric of her cheap costume and she could feel his cock twitching in his trousers, a low grunt leaving his lips when he involuntarily bucked his hips up into hers “Do you want me?”
“Yeah” He said in a low voice.
She inhaled as her hands gripped onto his shirt on his shoulders, and she had convinced herself to let the words slip out “Show me”
In a quick movement, Dalton flipped her and made her lay on her back, Y/N immediately moved up until her head rested by the pillows at the head of the bed, throwing the hat somewhere in the floor, but Dalton didn’t follow her, and instead he stared at her for a moment, up and down, almost as if he was trying to mentally keep this image forever.
“Come here” She spoke quietly, reaching out to grab his hand.
Before taking it, Dalton stood up and undid his belt and trousers, pulling them down and stepping out as he started to unbutton his shirt. Y/N got up and kneeled on the bed and in front of him with the intention of helping him with his shirt, she knew how beefy Dalton was and she was dying to feel for herself. She pulled his buttons free and discarded the clothing article before placing her hands on the bare skin of his abs, moving them slowly, stroking the hard lines of his muscles and memorising how his breath hitched under her touch.
His reaction soon grew as her hands reached lower, getting to the hem of his boxers “These are getting in the way, don’t you think?” She murmured.
“So is this. I’m nearly naked, it’s only fair” Dalton said as he started to pull at the fabric of her skirt. Y/N couldn’t contain the smirk appearing on her lips, glad Dalton finally said more than two words since they got to her room.
“Get rid of it then” She whispered.
It was like he had been waiting all night to hear those words, and if he was being completely honest, he kind of had been. He quickly obliged, getting rid of the skirt first and then unzipping the back of her leotard, kissing the soft skin on her shoulders as he slid it down her body, soon joining the pile of his clothes on the floor.
Y/N was left only in her underwear, but she decided to lose her bra just to make a show out of it. She pushed Dalton gently to make him take a step back to admire her, slowly taking it off and dropping it to the floor. His eyes immediately fell to her boobs, his boxers getting painfully tight.
“Come here” She repeated, returning to her previous spot and this time, Dalton followed her immediately.
He carefully made his way up to her as her legs parted to make room for him, but Dalton stopped crawling and suddenly lowered his head to attach his lips to her skin. He was kissing the insides of her thighs as his fingers hooked on her underwear and started pulling them down, then tossing them somewhere in the room once they were completely off.
Y/N squeezed her eyes shut, letting out loud and heavy breaths as his fingers got closer to where she needed him the most. She was fluttering around nothing when the need for him was becoming too much and she was ready to beg him to just fuck her, but her eyes shot open when she felt a kiss being placed on her clit, an unwilling moan falling from her lips.
“No, Dalton. I need you inside me” She said as she grabbed a handful of his hair and pulled him away from her.
“But-”
“Please, we’ll do that next time” His cock twitched again at the thought of ‘a next time’.
He just nodded and positioned himself over her, their lips meeting with a smack as he got rid of his own underwear, and she could feel him smiling against her mouth when his cock slapped against her thigh. After a few seconds, Dalton stopped kissing her and looked down at her with worried eyes.
“Do you… uh-” He started, but it was like nervousness was taking him over again “I don’t have a… condom” He said in a shy low tone.
“In the drawer” She chuckled as she pointed at her nightstand.
Dalton blushed and reached for the drawer, opening it carefully and blushing even harder when he spotted the condom. He took it and kneeled between her legs as he opened the shiny package, taking it out and slowly rolling it down his shaft. A smirk appeared on his face when he noticed her staring, her bottom lip tucked between her teeth as she blinked slowly.
For once, she was the one blushing and trying to play it cool when she realised how obvious she was being, so when Dalton positioned himself over her again she wrapped her arms around his neck to pull him into a kiss.
“I’m ready” She managed to say into the kiss.
Dalton gave himself a few tugs before guiding his cock to her entrance, and Y/N let out a loud whimper when his tip brushed her clit before it found its place. Dalton slowly inched inside of her, each letting out sounds in unison; Y/N a breathy moan at the feeling of him finally filling her and him a quick grunt as he bucked into her completely.
He started slowly, relishing in the feeling of being buried in her and the quiet moans she let slip past her lips, and he couldn’t get over how undeniably pretty she looked beneath him.
“Faster” She begged him as both her hands found his hair again, and he happily obliged.
Once he found a rhythm that worked for the both of them, Y/N wrapped her legs around his waist, bringing him deeper and closer to her. They couldn’t get any closer if they tried to, yet she still wanted more.
The way Dalton was pounding into her exceeded all the expectations she had going in, which said a lot considering she had been wanting this to happen from the moment she laid eyes on him in their class.
Dalton would’ve never thought this is how tonight would end up, but god he was glad Chris made him go to that party.
His breathing was strained as his hips met hers with each thrust, his knuckles white as he fisted the sheets on either side of her head. He was trying really hard to contain any moans and whimpers that he knew were stuck on his throat, but failing with a particular good thrust.
Her hand leaving his hair almost distracted him, watching as it travelled down between their bodies and landed on her clit, circling it in slow passes. Eager to take a better look at how she was touching herself, his hands left the sheets, and instead reached up to grip the headboard with one hand as the other hand was holding a firm hold around her thigh, hitting a new deepness when her hips met up with his with a quick desperation. Her head fell back against the pillow, a strangled moan past her lips as all she could do was fasten the pace on her clit.
“Oh Dalton-” She whimpered, arching her back against him and meeting his movements halfway “Just like that- feels so good”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah” Her response was rough and more choked than she intended “Just a little more, I’m close”
She was fluttering around him, locking down onto his cock tighter and tighter with each precise push of his hips. No words can be spoken as he worked her to a very intense orgasm, his following close behind.
After a few more thrusts, her body froze for a moment, feeling nothing but dizziness and an intense pleasure as the beginning of her orgasm swirled in her stomach.
“Oh, god” She was a mess.
“You’re gonna make me- fuck” He cut himself off at the feeling of her squeezing him tighter, only causing an even harshed moan to explode from his lips “I’m gonna cum” He warned. He had given up on keeping his blissed sounds to himself, and Y/N loved to hear how good she was making him feel.
The sound of her wetness and the way her body was shaking from her orgasm was defeating, and he couldn’t contain it any longer. When he knew he was too close, he fell forward and he tried his best to rest his weight on his hands, sloppily smacking into her hips to bring himself to his release, fisting the sheets again as he moaned her name repeatedly when the first string of his orgasm shot into the condom.
His opened mouth was pressed against her neck, allowing her to catch every senseless word he was letting out as he rode out his orgasm.
When his movements stopped completely all they could hear was their heavy breathing and a little bit of the loud music that was coming from downstairs. She didn’t move but by the way he was trying to keep his weight from crushing her, she knew he was tired.
“Lay next to me” She whispered but Dalton shook his head.
“I just need a minute” He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, not wanting to part from the warm feeling of being inside of her.
Once he pulled out they both let out a soft moan, and he collapsed next to her as he tried to catch his breath “So, when can I see you again?”

When hanging out with new people, Dalton always found it hard to talk to them. He would get nervous, and most people knew him by that, he was also known as 'y/n's boyfriend' and he was fine with that.
You had to meet some friends at the cafe before going on your date with him, but because it was a close call for the reservation, you thought it would be easier for him to come with.
"Ready love?" He shuffled to your desk as you finished your hair. 'So beautiful,' he thought. He could stare at you for hours. Your eyes, the hue of the (e/c) made him melt, and the way you always had such a soft smile.
"Yeah, let me get my shoes on." You looked around the room for them and saw them by the bed. Slipping them on, you added some ChapStick and called it good.
"Alright, let's get going." Standing up, your hands rested on his chest. The feeling of them gave him a sense of comfort, yet still, after months of dating, any slight touch from you makes his breath hitch. You kissed his cheek and made your way to the door.
"Hold on." he quickly turned back to the desk and grabbed something. You couldn't see it but didn't press what it was, leaving the dorm he grabbed your hand walking side by side.
The sun was already setting, the warm summer wind slowly turning into a crisp cold breeze. A comfortable silence lay between you and your boyfriend. You know he's not the biggest talker in public, but with just you and Chris behind closed doors, he won't ever shut up.
Cars passed by as you continued your walk to the café his hand held yours so tightly, you could tell he was nervous. He was always like this being out in public, he just held onto you and kept close. Your thumb brushed over his knuckles, your way of comforting him.
The cafe was a few steps ahead, "we'll be in and out" your voice was like silk to his ears. He smiled and followed you in, your friends sat at a table that was in the corner. "Hey, sorry I'm late" you sat next to Jess, and Dalton sat at the end of the table right next to you.
"No worries we were just talking about other things while we waited, should we go over the main plans now and then we can meet up again in two days" Lola was the main leader in your group when projects we assigned.
"Yeah, that sounds perfect!" you smiled and took your phone out to write some notes. Dalton sat peaceful next to you while you and the others went over the topic for the assignment. Your right hand was typing in your notes while your left hand laid in Dalton's lap.
He traced and played with your fingers and sat listening, "great so y/n I know it's a lot but are you okay with drawing a blueprint and then maybe you can write two of the paragraphs and then Jess you can edit and finish the last paragraphs?" you shook your head yes as Jess hopped into the conversation.
All of a sudden you felt a coldness on your hand, looking over at Dalton you saw he pulled a pen out and started drawing on your hand, he held your hand so softly, and instead of forcing you to turn your hand he turned his body as he drew. You could feel the coldness of the ink hitting your skin and the light traces he made.
This was your favorite thing ever, knowing it brought some kind of comfort to Dalton made you happy. You could see his face peaking from his hair, he looked so considerate and so hot-
"Great so we have about two weeks for this to be done but if we just stay on track with our parts, we should get it done in a week!" Lola's voice filled your ears making you turn your attention away from Dalton.
"Okay, sweet that sounds good" your hands closed on Dalton's making him look up, "I'll get started tomorrow, but for now I have a day with this cute boy here, so I'll catch you guys later" everyone smiled as they looked at Dalton, he was looking at you with rose cheeks. With the attention on him he could feel his face heat up.
"Alright love bird have fun!" Lola smiled and waved you both away.
"Not too much fun though" jess make a smirking face eyeing the both of you.
Dalton grabbed your coat slipping it back on you, he waved bye as you said goodbye. Making your way outside a smile laid brightly on your face.
"What?" Dalton looked at you flushed with how your eyes laid on him.
"I just think you are really cute, and I love you" he could feel his heart beating faster, you loved him, and you meant it!
"I love you" his voice was so soft; his brown eyes looked all doe eyed. Sticking out your hand you looked at the little drawing he did, there was hearts, some spiderwebs and eyes.
"I love when you draw on me too" you walked along him slowly the cold breeze pushing your hair back.
"I'm glad" his arm went around pulling your head to the side so he could kiss your forehead. humming at the affection, you couldn't be happier.

Carnival - Dalton Lambert
Pairing: Dalton Lambert x Reader
Summary: You and Dalton attend the Halloween carnival together and in turn face both of your fears.
Warnings: fluff, so much fluff, probs ooc Dalton
A/N: I love writing for Dalton so much! This is a chapter from my upcoming Dalton fic 'Lie to Me,' I've turned it into a one shot so the actual chapter is gonna be a little different. Hope you guys enjoy and please let me know what you think! I love you all xxx
Tumblr media
The atmosphere on campus was excitable, everyone was getting ready for the Halloween carnival, and you were no different. Your roommate, Chris leaned against the doorframe as you finished getting ready for the carnival.
You met her gaze in the mirror and grinned, “can I help you with something?”
“Why are you doing this, Y/N?”
You frowned at her as you applied a layer of your favourite lipstick, “what do you mean?”
“You’re going to the carnival with Dalton? When you could go with anybody else, Y/N you can get anyone you want at this school.”
You bit your lip and turned to face your roommate, “I like Dalton,” and it was true, you did like him. He was so different from anyone else.
“He’s my best friend, Y/N. When you break his heart it’s me that’s going to have to pick up the pieces.”
“When?” you glared at her, “Chris, I’m not some heartless bitch, I’m not going to hurt him.”
Before Chris could reply, the boy in question knocked on the doorframe and you smiled at him as he came into view. He looked so handsome in a button down shirt and his long hair was loose and wavy.
“Hey, you look great,” he grinned, a flush spreading out onto his cheeks and the bridge of his nose.
You smiled as you grabbed your jacket, “thanks! So do you.”
Chris looked between you and Dalton and rolled her eyes, “ugh, I’ll meet you guys there.”
For the end of October, the weather was pretty good, it was breezy but not cold. It was a bit of a walk from the university to the ground where the carnival was being held so you contented yourselves by making light conversation. You spoke about your classes, his Art classes and your Criminal Justice classes. In the light of day, he looked so tired and you hoped that his classes weren’t wearing him out.
Finally, the smell of funnel cakes and popcorn, coupled with laughter and screams of delight were carried on the brisk October wind. You and Dalton smiled at each other as you walked into the carnival.
“I love funnel cake,” Dalton grinned.
“Me too,” you looked wistfully over at the stall before turning to the handsome boy at your side, “but rides first?”
He laughed and pushed his long hair back with his hand, “that’s a good idea, what do you want to go on first?”
You looked around, trying to decide before you gasped and clutched at his sleeve, “please, can we go on the ghost train?” you pointed over to it.
Dalton bit his lip as his gaze followed where you were pointing. It looked as though he was going to refuse – he had a strange look on his face – but he nodded with a sweet smile, “sure, let’s go.”
You grabbed his hand, smiling up at him when he linked your fingers together as you walked over to the ghost train. He refused to look at you, keeping his eyes firmly fixed on the grass but you didn’t miss the way a flush spread across his cheeks. As soon as you walked into the pitch black to wait for the ride Dalton’s grip on your hand tightened and he pulled you closer to him but you didn’t think anything of it.
The ghost train was pretty good, it had the cheesy cheap thrills that you loved but there were moments that actually made you jump. Dalton seemed to be on edge the whole way round, he bounced his leg and his hand was still clutching yours, gripping tighter when there was a jump scare.
“Hey,” you whispered, “are you okay?”
He nodded, “yeah,” he whispered back, “I’m just a little jumpy,” you nodded and didn’t push it but you noticed how relieved he was when you left the darkness of the ghost train and suggested a roller coaster.
After a few exhilarating roller coasters you both walked towards the food stalls still hand in hand, “so, what’s your favourite ride?” you asked.
“Um, it’s kind of lame,” he laughed, “but when my mom and dad were still together we’d all go on the Ferris Wheel together, and it was perfect. So, I guess it’s the Ferris Wheel,” he flushed, you’d very rarely heard him speak about his parents, it did seem like he didn’t like talking about them much. He looked back at you with a grin, “you want to come on it with me?”
You bit your lip and looked away from him, feeling silly, “I’m terrified of heights,” you looked back at Dalton who gave you a confused look, “I’m alright on roller coasters because they’re over so quick but I can’t think of anything worse than being suspended in the air in a metal wheel,” you shuddered, “I’m sorry Dalton.”
Dalton shook his head and gave you a kind smile, “you don’t have to apologise for anything, Y/N. Come on, let’s get some food.”
On the way to the stalls, you ran into Chris and stopped to speak with her while Dalton walked ahead to get the food, “did I see you guys coming out of the ghost train earlier?”
“Yeah, so what?” you asked.
Chris laughed, “how did you persuade him? Did you have to kiss him?” when Chris saw that you had no idea what she was going on about, she carried on, “he’s terrified of the dark, when we were roommates briefly he had to plug a nightlight in. He must really like you, Y/N.”
“Really?” you asked, not sure if you should believe her. Chris nodded with a smirk on her face, you glanced up to see Dalton walking towards you with the food and a warm smile on his face. You instantly felt bad, if Dalton could get over his fear for you then surely you could do the same for him. You smiled at him as he greeted Chris and you thanked him for the food, “okay, I’ll come on the Ferris Wheel with you.”
Dalton raised an eyebrow and he frowned, “we don’t have to, Y/N.”
“No, no. I want to, Dalton,” you smiled at him before you could second guess yourself. You hardly tasted the food as you and Dalton walked through the carnival, you couldn’t keep your eyes off the huge metal wheel, it seemed crazy that you would soon be up there.
As you queued up for the wheel, Dalton’s hold on your hand tightened and he pulled you closer again but it was wildly different to how he had held you in the queue of the ghost train. It was his turn to comfort you. When you got to the front you thought your legs would stop working but miraculously you managed to follow him and sit down in one of the seats. You jolted as the wheel began to move slowly.
“You’re okay, Y/N. I’m not going to let anything happen to you.”
You nodded and gave him a shaky smile, “thank you.”
Your heart thumped wildly in your chest as the Ferris Wheel creaked and you slowly moved towards the apex. Dalton grinned as he looked over at the view and you felt brave enough to lean over him and take in the scene below, the people down below looked like ants and the clouds seemed so close. Dalton’s presence was so comforting that you even managed to relax as the wheel stopped at the top.
“Are you okay?”
You nodded, “yeah, I think I am, thank you for being so great about this,” you laughed nervously.
Dalton shook his head and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, “you don’t have to thank me, Y/N,” he grinned and you noticed just how pretty his eyes were and you noticed the different tones of blue.
With a flush you leaned up and kissed his cheek, Dalton didn’t have the chance to react to your kiss because the wheel began moving again and you squeaked as you jolted. Dalton laughed, giving you an apologetic look as the ride moved back to solid ground, to which you were thankful for.
As you both met up with Chris at the end of the ride she smirked and held up her phone, “oh you guys are just adorable,” she laughed as she showed you both the pictures she took.
You both laughed at the picture of you looking scared, your eyes wide, nearly bulging out of your head. Dalton stopped laughing abruptly and looked at you with a flush as Chris flicked to the picture of you kissing his cheek.
Chris smirked, “come on, I’m still hungry. Let’s go to the diner down the road.”

despite the lack of elise and specs/tucker... the red door is the best insidious movie since the original.
patrick wilson outdid himself. the scares were nicely done and not campy or cheesy. plus, i love that he added the realistic element of addressing all the trauma his possession caused. hell of a directorial debut for him.
plus, his song collab with ghost? perfection. loved the movie, and it's a good end to the series if they don't decide to make another later on.

Fun While it Lasted
Part 2 of Is It Fun?
Pairing: Dalton Lambert x fem!reader
Summary: Months after Dalton hurts you, Chris finds out why.
Warnings: spoiler for all Insidious movies (Parker Crane's story line), angst, fluff, brief mentions of harm against reader, Specs and Tucker
Word Count: 2.1k+ words
A/N: So... this was requested 3 months ago during Fic-tober 2023. And then I forgot I agreed to write it. I am so sorry for the long wait, but I think this is better than anything I could have written at the time. Sorry again, but I hope you enjoy and please let me know what you think!🤍
Tumblr media
It’s been three months since you saw Dalton. Losing him hurts, and his voice has been a constant echo in your mind.
“It is fun.”
Even after all this time, surviving winter break without him, returning to school knowing it will be different without his welcome, you still miss him. Dalton Lambert hurt you, and in the process, you lost everything you had grown to love.
Someone knocks on your door, and you open it without asking who it is, too lost in your memories to consider who it is or what they could want.
“Chris?” you ask, looking down the hall quickly.
“I’m sorry,” she begins, pushing you inside and closing the door behind you. “I don’t know what else to say other than I’m sorry.”
“For what?”
“Ignoring you. For believing Dalton, I guess?”
You furrow your brows and shake your head, keeping room between yourself and Chris.
“He told me that you two broke things off and I just assumed that if things were amicable, I’d see you around, you know? And when I didn’t, I thought you were mad and decided that seeing me would include seeing him too. I don’t know what I thought, but I was wrong and I’m sorry.”
You rub the space between your eyebrows, trying to remove the crease Dalton and Chris seem determined to make permanent. The simple mention of Dalton’s name takes you back to that day in October. After months of crying yourself to sleep and tearing yourself apart to find what made him want to hurt you, you thought you were beginning to move on. Yet a few words from Chris make you ready to break down again.
The worst nights are when you think the red door opened again, which could be why he pushed you away. Remembering that movement in the shadows after you returned to your dorm haunts you. You try to forget or convince yourself it was a trick to lessen the hurt.
“So, why are you here?” you ask Chris.
“I think it’s happening again,” she confesses.
You look up at her quickly, shocked but not completely surprised.
“That’s not possible, Chris. He’s been with his mom and dad for weeks; they would have noticed.”
“He hasn’t been the same. If I’m right and there’s something going on, he’s doing a really good job of keeping it covered up.”
“Then what happened that made you come here and try to convince me to help you? That’s why you’re here right?”
“Because this is about you!” Chris exclaims, gesturing with her arms. “This started in October, as far as I can tell, right after whatever happened between you two.”
“What did he tell you?” you whisper.
“Just that he broke it off with you. Every time I asked why, he dodged the question or told me to stop being nosy.”
You chuckle as you imagine Dalton saying that. Shaking your head, you sit against your bed and decide to tell Chris the truth.
“That’s not exactly how it happened. He had been making plans with me and then never showing up, avoiding me, and I got worried.”
Chris nods, moving to sit beside you.
“So I went to his dorm to check on him, and he basically told me that he didn’t want to see me anymore and that I should have taken the hint.”
“What else?” Chris presses after you fall silent.
“He told me it was fun to see me hurt,” you answer quietly, fiddling with your fingers as you stare at your hands. “I wanted to stay and make sure he was okay, but I ran.”
“Was there anything off or unusual?” Chris lays her hand over yours, an understanding and friendship in her eyes that you missed.
“I- it was probably nothing.”
“When it comes to Dalton Lambert, the smallest things are usually something,” Chris reminds you.
“After I got back here, I thought I saw something move in the shadows. I’ve wondered pretty much daily if that was really Dalton.”
“The last time he was possessed it was obvious. But seeing things moving in the shadows isn’t a typical response to getting dumped.”
“We weren’t even together,” you remind her with a sad chuckle.
“But you were going to be. You both cared about each other, and I know you still care about him.”
“You really think he needs help?”
“I do.”
“Then what do we do?”
“I have an idea. But it requires you seeing him again.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“I think I would have noticed,” Josh argues.
“Just hear them out,” Renai says, placing a hand on Josh’s arm. “What exactly makes you think something is wrong?”
“Did Dalton mention her?” Chris asks, gesturing toward you.
“No. Not really, I mean, he mentioned they broke up and I thought it best not to pry,” Renai answers.
Josh’s gaze is on you as he answers, “You were all he could talk about in the Further. I thought it was strange that he’d let you go after that, but what do I know?”
You smile at him, tugging on your fingers as you think.
“Have you dealt with something like this before?” you ask.
“Yes,” Renai answers. “When Dalton was younger; well, you saw the picture with the hammer. That seems similar. Whatever possessed Josh made him so different and wanted to kill me and the kids.”
“Parker Crane,” Josh adds. “He was banished, but the Further is a- a strange place.”
You glance over at Chris, who takes the lead.
“Could you find out what, if anything, is happening?”
Josh sighs but nods. “If something is in Dalton’s mind though, it may know I’m digging. It’ll come after the people closest to him.”
“We need him back,” you whisper. “No matter what it costs.”
“We’ll get him,” Josh promises, resting a hand on your shoulder. “He escaped the Further for you once, the two of you can survive whatever this is.”
Assuming there is something, of course, and Dalton isn’t just here to hurt you.
✯✯✯✯✯
Your heart is racing. Even though you know Chris, Josh, and Renai are standing by, you are terrified. The Further doesn’t scare you, but the idea that Chris is wrong and that Dalton truly hates you creates pure fear within you.
“What do you want?” Dalton asks when he sees you, blocking the door with his body.
“Answers,” you reply, forcing your voice to stay steady. “Tell me why.”
He laughs before asking, “Why what?”
“Why did you treat me the way you did?”
He moves forward so his face is mere inches from yours, smiling as he says, “Because it was fun. While it lasted, at least.”
“Is that the truth?” You’re going off script, but now that you can see him so closely, you know this isn’t your Dalton. “Or do strong women just scare you, Parker?”
Chris and Josh yell your name as Dalton – or his body, at least – pulls you into his room and slams the door.
“Go find them!” Renai tells Josh.
He nods, running toward Chris’s room to enter the Further uninterrupted. Saving Dalton is something he doesn’t mind doing; he loves his son but knows Dalton is just as tired of this as he is.
The fight against and within the Further was supposed to be over, not extending to people he loves.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Dalton, if you’re in there, I’m sorry it took me so long,” you pant, clawing against the hands on your shoulders. “But we’re here now.”
“You should know by now that Dalton doesn’t care when you show up, because he won’t come at all!”
✯✯✯✯✯
“Dalton!” Josh yells.
“Dad?” Dalton whispers, looking up with weary, glassy eyes. “How’d you find me?”
“Chris and your girl figured it out. Sorry it took us so long.”
“That’s what she said.” Dalton looks up, his eyes wild as he searches his dad’s face. “How long has it been?”
Josh swallows and takes a deep breath before answering, “At least three months.”
“What did I do?”
“You didn’t do anything, you know that,” Josh soothes as he pulls Dalton’s restraints off. “I don’t know how he got out, though.”
“We have to help her. Parker’s going to kill her.”
“No, he isn’t. He’s not strong enough to take all seven of us.”
Josh pulls Dalton to his feet, hooking his arm under Dalton’s shoulders to support him.
“Seven?” Dalton repeats.
✯✯ Yesterday ✯✯
“It seems that Parker just fell back into his old ways,” Specs answers.
“His mother’s spirit is still gone, so there’s a chance that talking sense into Parker could work,” Tucker adds.
“How do I do that?” you ask.
“Remind him of who he is – just Parker Crane, not the creature his mother created or wanted him to be.”
“And if that doesn’t work?” No one answers; you’re sure that is better than the truth. “I’ll try to talk him out of it, then. I do have one more question though: can Dalton hear me?”
“Most likely,” Tucker answers solemnly.
“Can he fight from within the Further?”
“Yeah,” Josh answers. “I’ll fill him in as soon as I find him, and we’ll go for Parker’s spirit.”
“How likely is it that this will work?” Chris inquires.
“50/50,” Tucker answers. After a stern look from Specs, he corrects, “60/40.”
✯✯ Today ✯✯
“Dalton, we have to find Parker’s spirit and remind him that the bride in black doesn’t have to kill anymore, that he’s free,” Josh says.
“Okay. He usually stays over there.” Dalton points to a small area filled with toys from Dalton’s memories. “But he gets grumpy.”
“Sounds familiar.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“You don’t have to do this, Parker. Everything that your mother said and did was wrong. You are your own person, and you can choose to stop!” you cry.
“She’s in my head!” he grunts, smacking his knuckles across your cheekbone.
“Then stop listening.”
Tears build in your eyes as he yells again.
“Dalton, tell him that parents give us life, but they don’t define it,” you say quietly. “Take your life back, Parker, and don’t prove her right.”
Parker takes a step back at your words, his eyes dropping.
✯✯✯✯✯
“I can choose,” Parker repeats quietly. “How do I stop?”
“Surrender,” Josh answers. “Give Dalton here his mind back.”
Patrick nods, handing Dalton the toy in his grasp before fading.
“Get to her. Right now,” Josh says. “I’m right behind you.”
✯✯✯✯✯
Dalton blinks rapidly above you, his hands resting on either side of your head as he hovers over you.
“Dalton?” you whisper.
“Hey,” he replies, his eyes clearing as he smiles.
Dalton begins to stand up, but you wrap your arms over his shoulders, joining your hands behind his neck as you pull him down into a hug. He takes a deep breath as he returns the hug, sliding his arms under your waist as he leans against you.
“I’m so sorry,” he says against your neck. “I didn’t mean it. It was terrible to hear you hurting and I wish I could have stopped it.”
“Not your fault, Dalton.”
Loosening your grip on him, you let Dalton pull you up. His eyes search your face, gentle fingertips grazing over your bruising cheekbone.
“Can we go on another date?” you ask quietly. “I missed a bunch. I missed you.”
Dalton leans in, his lips brushing yours.
“We can go on a million. Thank you for saving me.”
“It wasn’t just me.”
Someone knocks on the door, and you move out of Dalton’s lap, settling under his arm as you invite everyone in.
“I should have known it was you two,” Dalton says, shaking his head as Specs and Tucker (re)introduce themselves. “Thank you, Chris.”
“What are saviors for?” she asks with a roll of her eyes. “Glad to see you back to yourself, Dalton.”
“Me too,” Renai adds, pulling you and Dalton into a quick hug.
“Is it over?” Dalton asks.
“Never truly,” Specs answers. “But we’re learning more every day.”
“Just keep a steady stride,” they say at the same time as Josh and Dalton.
“Well, you’ve missed a lot, so we’ll get out of your way, bud,” Josh says, attempting to herd everyone out of the dorm. “Call us when you’re ready to visit. We’ll redo Christmas.”
“I forgot about that!” Renai exclaims as the door closes.
Chris winks at you, and you send her a silent thank you before she exits. Dalton pulls you close, kissing the top of your head.
“Tell me everything I missed.”
“I don’t want to relive it, and I’m not sure you really want to know.”
“Well, then, let’s just have some fun to make up for it?”
You laugh at the idea of something being fun with Dalton again. “Fun sounds good,” you answer, pulling him into another kiss, the first of many to make up for.

Safe With Me
Summary: Dalton is really sick and his girlfriend drops everything to take care of him.
Word Count: 2.4k+
Warnings: established relationship, language, mentions of throwing up, comfort, pure fluff
A/N: Hi! I had a couple of requests asking for sick!Dalton so I decided to write this! and if i’m being completely honest i not sure how i feel about 😭 hopefully is not too gross. also i’m sorry if it’s too long and redundant but I hope you’ll like it! Pls let me know what you think <3
MASTERLIST     ✩    SEND ME A REQUEST
Tumblr media
Ever since his coma Dalton was terrified of getting sick. He now knew he wasn’t actually sick back then, but that suffocating feeling never went away.
And his current state was unfortunate, to say the least. He didn’t even leave his bed in the morning, cause as soon as he woke up he noticed a pounding headache, a runny nose, a sore throat, constant sweating and intense body pain. There was no way he could go to class.
Before notifying his girlfriend that he would miss class, he looked up his symptoms to make sure he didn’t need to seek medical attention, quickly coming to the conclusion that he had a simple cold. He should’ve seen it coming, he wasn’t feeling the best the day prior but brushed it off thinking he was just tired.
Dalton: Not gonna make it to class today, woke up with a cold :/ sorry baby
He fell back asleep almost immediately, but sadly not for long. His body temperature suddenly dropped, making him shiver, so he brought up his blanket and tried to cover his entire body with it, but stopped when he suddenly felt hot again.
Dalton was sure he had never been this sick, he was uncomfortable, his throat was incredibly dry and his whole body sticky from sweat. It even hurt to sneeze. He let out a loud moan in discomfort and a few seconds later, he heard the door open.
“Sorry, I didn’t know if you were awake and I didn’t wanna bother you” Y/N said softly entering the room. She was holding a few blankets and pillows that covered her face but he knew it was her. Dalton covered himself again, up to his head, he didn’t want Y/N to see him like this, not when his hair was an absolute mess and his pajamas looked like he took a shower in them.
“What are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be in class?” He asked under the blankets.
Y/N put down the stuff on the other bed, “I’ve never missed a day, I’m sure I can afford skipping one class” She approached Dalton’s bed and kneeled next to him “Hey, how bad is it?”
“It’s bad, I don’t wanna get you sick too” He replied, his throat hurting every time he spoke.
“You’ll be happy to know that I don’t care” She joked, but Dalton remained silent “I assume you didn’t have any breakfast yet”
“No”
“Well I bought you some chicken soup, you should eat it while it’s still hot, it will be good for you” She stared at the lump on Dalton’s bed, waiting for him to come out or at least say something “Baby come on, let me see you”
Dalton appreciated her ditching class to take care of him, it truly warmed his heart and all he wanted to do was show her how thankful he was, but what if she got sick because of him? What if he looks really bad right now? “I don’t look good” He finally muttered.
“What?” Y/N chuckled, thinking he was joking.
“I’m sweating an insane amount, I can feel my hair sticking to my face”
“Let me braid your hair so you feel less sticky on the face, it works, trust me”
Dalton thought about it for a moment, he figured she wouldn’t leave even if he directly asked her to, so he uncovered his face and shyly looked at Y/N “I feel really ill”
“I know baby, tell me what hurts”
“Everything, my entire body, the headache is terrible and I get really cold but after a second I feel like I’m boiling”
Y/N touched his forehead as soon as she noticed his blushed face “Baby, you’re really hot”
“I know that” He joked with a smirk on his face.
Y/N rolled her eyes but couldn’t contain her laughter “Good to know your sense of humor remains untouched” She stood up and grabbed a food container from her backpack “You’re gonna eat your soup while I braid your hair and I promise it will make you feel at least a little bit better”
“My hair is all covered in sweat though” He sat on his bed waiting for Y/N to give him his food.
“That’s ok” She opened the container and Dalton could see the steam that came off of it. Y/N looked through her bag for a spoon, but she had so many things she thought would make him feel better it took her a while. She was pulling out a bunch of other stuff, but when she finally found it she carefully put the bowl in his hands “It’s really hot so please be careful”
Dalton took it and whispered a little “Thank you”
“You might feel hotter for a moment but this is good, you need a lot of fluids. Now I’m gonna sit behind you, is that ok?” Dalton nodded, blowing into his soup so he wouldn’t burn his tongue.
Y/N struggled a little to get behind him, staying on her knees to make sure she had full access to Dalton’s hair “Are you comfortable?”
“Yes”
“Ok, should I do one or two?” She started brushing his hair. He was right, he was sweating a lot but Y/N didn’t care, she just wanted to take proper care of her boyfriend. She was being extremely careful for a number of reasons.
They stayed like that for a few minutes, it didn’t take her long to figure out how to put two french braids on him without pulling his hair or making his headache worse “Done” She said getting back on her feet, taking a good look at how Dalton looked with braided hair. Her heartbeats began to increase “You look really cute”
Dalton’s face was burning, and it wasn’t the fever “Thank you. I actually do feel much better” And he was, he was surprised at how lighter his head felt without all that hair resting on his face or shoulders.
“See? I told you” She then kissed her fingertip and tapped Dalton’s nose with it, making him melt at her touch ”Finish your soup, I’m gonna see if Chris still has that humidifier”
Y/N left his dorm, leaving him alone again. Somehow he already felt better, even though everything hurt the same. But he had to admit that the hot chicken soup was a good call.
Once he was done with it, he laid back down carefully, not wanting to ruin his freshly styled hair. And only a few minutes later, he heard the door again “No luck with the humidifier but this will help too” He paid attention to her hands, she was holding a bucket and a dry cloth “Just this one last thing and I’ll let you go back to sleep” She said as if she was bothering him, Dalton didn’t feel like she was, if anything it was the other way around and he should be the one apologising. She put down the bucket next to his bed and waited for him to sit again, this time paying attention to his damped clothes “Why don’t you change into some dry clothes?”
He looked down at his shirt and felt embarrassed when he noticed how much it looked like he’d been drowned in a rainstorm, it didn’t look like that before but it must’ve been the hot liquids “Okay” He agreed, about to get up but Y/N stopped him.
She wandered around his room, grabbing clean clothes that she believed would be comfortable for him to wear. She didn’t want him to feel too hot or too cold again, so she went for a happy medium. A shirt and underwear. He probably shouldn’t deal with too many layers anyway “Here, I’ll help you change”
She helped him with everything, which he was really thankful for since his body was too weak and in pain to do it by himself. Tossing his dirty clothes somewhere in the room, she proceeded to grab the pillows she previously set on the other bed and started arranging them around Dalton to make his uncomfortable bed a little more pleasant.
“Are you comfortable?” She asked looking down at him, he nodded in response “Sure?”
“Positive” Even his voice was weak.
After he was settled, Y/N reached into the bucket and completely submerged the cloth, making sure all the excess water was cleared before moving it away from the bucket, she stroked it over his face a few times “This is great cause now if you feel like throwing up, you can use this bucket” She joked, knowing a cold wouldn’t make him feel nauseous. He chuckled at this, which made Y/N feel better “You’re all good now, why don’t you try to sleep?”
He looked up at her in pure admiration “Thank you, darling”
“For what?”
“For taking care of me” He rasped out.
“What kind of girlfriend would I be if I didn’t take care of my sick boyfriend?” He could swear he had literal heart eyes right now, nearly biting his tongue to stop himself from saying those three words, since they haven’t said it yet. But he really wanted to.
He went back to sleep, luckily this time he managed to rest for hours. In the meantime, Y/N stayed on the other bed, doing some work to stay busy and awake while she kept an eye on him in case he needed her. The hours went by and Dalton’s fever went away, finally. He woke up around 4 PM, slowly opening his eyes and squinting at the sudden brightness.
Dalton scanned the room looking for Y/N, but she was nowhere to be found. He figured it made sense that she left, he didn’t really expect her to stay there all day just to look after him.
He tried to get up but his body felt heavy. He groaned in pain and fell on his back again, strangely still feeling tired even after sleeping for hours. Before he could try again, Y/N was entering the room.
“You came back” He managed to say.
“Yeah, sorry. I was just getting you some tea” She approached him and touched his forehead, relieved that he wasn’t hot anymore “How are you feeling?”
“Better…” He replied, not so sure he wanted her to get worried “I guess my throat still hurts”
“I figured, but this honey and lemon tea will help with that” She smiled at him but when he didn’t move, she could feel the worry come back to her “What’s wrong?”
“I don’t like tea”
“Tell your cold that” Dalton pouted like a little kid, but Y/N's face remained neutral as she waited for him to take the cup. He gave in and took it anyway, it seemed like she knew what she was doing and honestly, he would do anything to ease his sore throat.
He started drinking it, slowly but surely. It didn’t taste as bad as he remembered and he started wondering if his mum was just bad at making tea “Would you cuddle with me? If it’s not too gross” He asked Y/N out of nowhere.
“Gross? Why-?”
“Cause I have been sweating a lot and it’s not like I took a shower or anything” He explained, a little embarrassed.
“Would you be grossed out if I was the sick one asking for cuddles?”
He answered immediately “No”
“See? Don’t be silly” She was happy Dalton wanted to cuddle. Since she got there in the morning she was concerned he just wanted her out of there. Carefully she got in bed with him, sitting against the headboard and getting in a comfortable position, she waited for Dalton to lay down and nestled him down between her legs, with his back against her front.
“Thank you for staying with me. I feel much better with you”
“Really? Cause for a moment there it felt like you didn’t want me here”
“I do angel, I really do. I just…” He stopped for a moment to think about his words “I don’t wanna be a burden”
“Dalton, you know I would never think that” She was brushing his check.
“Still, you missed classes and stayed here all day… for me” He then felt guilty at his realisation “Did you eat something today?”
“I did, Chris brought some lunch for me, she was gonna get something for you too but we weren’t sure for how long you’d sleep. Are you hungry?”
“Not really” She nodded even though he couldn’t see her “I’m still tired”
Y/N has been sick before, and she knew it was exhausting to deal with it but doesn’t remember a cold taking her down like that. Still, she agreed to stay there with him while he went to sleep. Again.
Y/N didn’t notice when she started to drift off, but when she felt Dalton shivering on top of her she opened her eyes quickly.
He was freezing cold, to the point where his teeth were chattering, but his skin was so hot she could melt chocolate on his forehead.
“Dalton?” She whispered, softly moving him “Dalton, are you okay?”
“Mhm?” He hummed. Dalton was holding the blanket tighter and closer to him.
“How are you feeling?” She kept a low voice, she didn’t wanna overwhelm him.
“I’m freezing” She was about to embrace him again, but was interrupted when Dalton abruptly sat on the bed “I think I’m gonna throw up”
Y/N followed his actions, and reached down for the bucket that was still next to them and placed it between his legs. ‘Not good’ She kept thinking, rubbing his back for comfort “If that’s the case then you’re worse than I thought, Dalton, we might have to go to the doctor” Dalton didn’t like the seriousness of her voice.
“I don’t like hospitals”
“Well, I don’t care whether you like it or not, your fever is coming back and you’re feeling nauseous, I don’t think that’s normal for a cold. You are literally shaking”
“Last time I was at the hospital my soul was trapped in The Further”
“But you’re here with me right now, aren’t you?” He stayed silent “Come on, I’m gonna take you to the hospital and I promise you’ll feel better, okay?” Dalton nodded. He knew she was taking care of him, good care of him, but anything related to sickness, doctors or hospitals triggered something in his memory that made him go back 10 years “Hey, I’m not gonna let anything bad happen to you, you’re safe with me. I promise” She said rising her pinky in front of him, satisfied when Dalton locked her pinky with his own.
