Why is no one talking about this scene?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brett makes the basketball dog talk as if it were Reagan and he makes her say "I love you Brett, platonically" and he gets sad right after that.

INSIDE JOB SEASON TWO SPOILERS!
.
.
.
'Appleton' has me messed up as a whole, but even more when I realize that Ron's plan was never going to work. Even if Reagan did decide to run away with him, who was gonna erase her memory after she erased his? Or vice-versa? The reality of the situation hurts more when I think about how Ron and Reagan are parallels, which means it's totally possible that Ron knew Appleton wouldn't work for one reason or another, so he gave Reagan an "easy" out. After all, we saw Reagan read the first part of the script he had written, but who's the say that it was a complete script? Who's to say that Ron didn't write one sentence before punctuating it with '[ad lib]'???

I Don’t Trust The Inside Job Part 2 Finale
Appleton. What a heartbreaking glorious episode and such an amazing way to end Part 2. I cried <//3 But I’m delusional and I DO NOT ACCEPT IT !! AND HERE’S WHY
Tumblr media
This face. This fucking face! THAT UGLY ASS FUCKING CONNIVING FACIAL EXPRESSION !! Throughout the season I was super on edge because every episode Alpha-Beta just kept getting more and more integrated into the everyday activities around the office. Everyone was just kind of comfortable having him around and helping and isn’t this supposed to be the genocidal maniac that, if given just a few seconds with an internet connection, can start world war 3?1?! I figured the writers were going for a semi-redemption arc. He’s still evil and silly but like he’s generally safe. Plus he still has that glass cage all around him, he can’t do much of anything with that frfr *cut to Rand lowering the glass cage for a fist fight* THE WAY I SCREAMED !! AND THE WAY NO ONE BROUGHT IT UP AFTERWARDS ?!?! AND IT STAYED FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON ?!?! Is no one worried that hey, he might be up to something?? Raegan was right to comment on how weirdly ungenocidal Alpha-Beta was in this scene, because what if he wasn’t? And the way she didn’t even check if Alpha-Beta’s work on connecting the multiverse timeline analyzer thingie to the simulation room was correct because she was so desperate for an immediate answer leaves me so concerned. My theory (delusions) is that once Alpha-Beta got unrestricted access to the internet, he either contacted or got contacted by the robes, to ensure that Raegan would make partner and enact her global domination plans with nothing to keep her down, distract her, or stand in her way. No Ron Stadler. What if those weren’t all the possible realities,,, what if in one reality they could have been happy but it would go against the robes’ plans,,,
And while I do agree that Ron and Reagan where going in different directions in life and that them breaking up makes so much sense. (Here’s a great post on that btw: https://at.tumblr.com/swanpyart/inside-job-part-2-spoilers-ron-and-reagan/euyben9u6xhk) The circumstances of their breakup leave me so,,, MAD. Not only because of the sussyness of Alpha-Beta. Not only because I saw it coming from episode 1 and was deluding myself throughout the last episode that a mind erasing scenario wouldn’t happen. But also because Raegan lied to Ron.   I can understand and appreciate the poetry in Ron erasing his own mind but the way Raegan didn’t talk to him about their potential futures together. The way she took away Ron’s autonomy in that moment to decide for himself what kind of future he wants. The way they didn’t talk through it and how Raegan would view her actions as selfless and for the greater good,,, THEY COULD HAVE WORKED I SWEAR IF ONLY THEY COMMUNICATED ABOUT IT OPENLY TO EACH OTHER EVERYTHING WOULD HAVE WORKED OUT WHAT ABOUT BIZLEASURE RAEGAN WHAT ABOUT BIZLE- *gets tranquilized and abducted by the deep state for being too delusional*

MORE INSIDE JOB BABBLES
So I just realized the season finale of Part 1 of Inside Job may have a bit more of a sinister twist that I first thought, and I wanted to share my thoughts.
SPOILERS FOR INSIDE JOB PART 1 AND 2 UNDER THE CUT
So, in "Inside Reagan," we find out that Rand had been editing Reagan's memories in an attempt to isolate her and keep her focused only on her work so that she'd be able to take power and let him back into Cognito should be ousted. (The more I think about it, the more messed up it gets). We all know this. And we know that he edited out Reagan's first friend, Orrin. BUT. There's a line I noticed on a recent rewatch of the finale. When Reagan is about to enter her repressed memories, she says,
"Why were you really here?"
And earlier in the episode, we see Rand sneaking in with a plate of cupcakes. Remember, Rand had been kicked out of the company at this point. And he gained clearance via Reagan's clone hand. But as shown earlier in the season, Rand really doesn't care that much, and it would be super out of character for him to care so much that he would want to visit Reagan at work. So why was he really there?
Well, remember what kinds of memories Rand erased from Reagan. Every memory of her and Orrin together, sharing good times and successes together. Rand saw this as a weakness, and wanted Reagan to think she did it all on her own (which likely led to part of Reagan's protagonist complex and shouldering too much on her own), increasing her reliance on him and Bear-o. BUT. You know who else Reagan shares her life with? Her team.
Over the course of Part 1, there's a ton of growth between the team, as Brett acts as the glue that bonds everyone together, and they all realize they're better off with each other than without. Heck, we even see Reagan admit that in the finale herself. And here's the kicker. They were Reagan's new friends.
And Rand Ridley was going to erase it all.
Remember how he'd mentioned Reagan was his insurance policy to get back into Cognito? Why would he choose this very moment to try to reinstate himself? Why would he come specifically as Reagan was promoted? Because JR was out of the picture. JR had gone to see the Robes, and the office was left vulnerable. Evidently, Rand knew where Project Jellybean was and he still knew full-well how to operate it, but he knew there would be no way that Reagan would let him back into the company if she knew she could rely on someone other than her anything-but-reliable father. So he snuck in, with the plan to lure her to the room to erase her memories of her friends. The friends that she'd been practicing an emotional speech for nearly 30 takes for. The friends that all came back after realizing that they were stronger together than apart. The friends that Rand saw as obstacles in Reagan getting to the top in the most efficient and absolute way possible.
Now I'd mentioned Part 2 spoilers above the cut. Here is that section.
In Part 2, something similar happens where Rand tries to fix what he sees as a mistake and Reagan has to stop him, and she says to him something along the lines of how she'd been trying to figure out if he was a hero or villain, eventually realizing that he was "(her) dad, the screw-up."
And this is where everything comes full circle back to the memory editing, and something a little personal to me. I'd always felt my parents were suspicious of my friends, afraid they'd be a bad influence, and as such I'd get frequent talks from them about "oh are they trustworthy" or "oh that's kinda disrespectful of them" and looking back, my friends were just normal-ass kids. My parents were the ones being paranoid, and looking for ways that they could try to shield me from what they felt would be detrimental to me. It was sweet in a really weird, twisted way. But back to Inside Job, but I think that's exactly what Rand wanted to do. Because in addition to wanting his job, Rand is a broken man. He's looking for love, constantly trying to change the world so that he can get his ideal life back - a life with Tamiko and ridley not hating him, a life where he doesn't need to be a drunk and a deadbeat dad. And in doing so, he does the one thing he does best - he tries to take control because he loves his family. But that love grows out of control into paranoia.
I want to leave off on a more hopeful note. Across the series, we see Reagan follow a lot in her dad's footsteps, but also deviate from the norms he sets by a lot. Notably, she tries actively to put those she values before her own needs, case in point being how she let Ron have the peaceful life he wanted, but at the cost of her own happiness. And we see her becoming comfortable with letting go of control as she grows further apart from Rand's influence and feels less need to control a life that feels constrained and chaotic. She leaves Brett in charge. She trusts Myc (a little) to get them through his Hive School reunion, and whether she knows it or not, she connects a lot more with her team than she'd give herself credit for.
I'm going to leave this here, this post has kinda devolved into a ramble, but I really like this series. It's witty, charming, and has a ton of layers. Thank you for reading this cartoon babble :)

Do you think cognito inc created gravity falls so they had a town they can put the super natural creatures that wouldn’t do well at the center of the earth? And that’s why gravity falls isn’t in any maps??
Do you think ford was working with cognito inc cause him and Reagan both had similar gloves on and that glove could be a property of cognito inc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It wouldn’t be far fetched that they’re in the same universe cause Alex hirsh worked on both shows.
Do you think the shows are running at the same time or is inside job a time skip into the future?
Do you think cognito inc knows about bill cypher?
Has bill tried to fuck with the heads of cognito? Or maybe he’s even working with the robes.
If inside job is a time skip forward and ford *did* work with cognito do you think dipper works for them too? He’d be 23 rn so it’s possible.
SO. MANY. QUESTIONS!!

My wording sucks when I’m super excited so pls excuse the shitty wording of this but...
I just realised Ron and Reagan look pretty alike (and have names starting with r, like rand!)
This is VERY far fetched, but what if Ron is Reagan’s sibling that Rand also erased from her memory? So it’s basically been confirmed by now that the illuminati are somewhat of Cognito Inc’s rivalries.
In Shion’s AMA, someone asked a bunch of questions, and one of them was asking if Tamiko was a villain. Shion said that the answer to one of the questions was “yes” but she wasn’t gonna tell them which question was correct.
What if Tamiko is a member of the illuminati, and when Ron was born, she tried, and succeeded to indoctrinate him into the illuminati? Then, Rand gave birth to Reagan either after Ron left home, or Ron left home a few years after Reagan was born then Rand erased Ron from Reagan’s memory? (yeesh, thats a lot of r’s) and then Ron, if I’m correct, wipes minds as a profession. What if Rand stole one of his mind-erasing machines to erase Rea’s memory of orrin? It can’t be a coincidence that Ron has smth to do with memory erasing, looks eerily similar to reagan, and also has a name starting with r.

Inside Job Review
Spoilers under the cut
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plot twist: the robes are controlled by the Collector
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*Gets fnaf flashbacks*
Tumblr media
Me @ Bill Cipher
Tumblr media
*violent Amphibia flashbacks*
Now let's get to the serious topics.
First of all, Reagan's relationship with Ron is just sad. Tragic even. But I've noticed a pattern with Reagan's behavior in this season and this is honestly concerning. When she suddenly took off Brett's tinfoil hat in s2e7, when she erased Ron's memories and literally tricked him about his life, without his consent...
She's making decisions for everyone and justifies herself by saying that this for their own good. And now the robes gave her to decide and do whatever she wants if it's better for humanity. She can now raise plagues, start a genocide or a war if it means this the best for the humanity, and she'll be supported by everyone in the Deep State, we've seen how they've reacted with her being the boss. And I believe this'll bite her back hard.
Now let's talk about the finale....
WHAAAAAA-
SO THE ROBES WILL BE THE BIG BAD OF THE STORY?!
Honest, we should've seen that coming with all these remarks about them not being human throughout this season. So Reagan is clearly a pawn there (she was before too, all thing's considered, but that's not the topic). Even though I hate Rand, he was actually trying to get Reagan to the top, so with him and JR being in prison, the most experienced ones about the Robes, there's quite literally no one that can put some sense into her, because there is no one left in the company that is above her or at least has some authority over her.
I'm planning to make a theory post about the Robes, but let me just say that I believe, their whole story about them being the smarties who actually protect the world, is just bullsh*t. We see Reagan's biggest flaw in the very first episode, which is thinking she is the smart one and what she does is actually protecting others even when they can't see it, so they're playing straight to her ego.
This is all I have in my mind for now, I'm actually going to make character analysis for Inside Job because this is getting interesting...

-roboreagan told reagan to “go, be with bryan” ; aka, clear the room to allow me time to slip out before a team comes
-she was not recovered
-alpha beta suddenly had a whole new range of dating matches for reagan
-roboreagan contacted alpha beta and theyre now working in tandem to bring reagan down; possibly to have robo reagan replace her for real, and they’ll revamp alpha beta’s outward appearance to be someone else since they no longer need him to be the president
-they’ll model alpha beta after brett in order to take over the team?

I was rewatching the last few episodes of inside job with my brother (he’s not seen it) and I noticed something
At the very end, there’s glitches and I noticed a picture
Tumblr media
This was the clearest picture I could find
It looks like the robes with a bigger robed guy in the middle, maybe he’s the grim reaper or sm?
And the bottom left looks like one of the tattoos that J.R has
Tumblr media
I couldn’t find a picture of J.R but he has a tattoo like this
Ik the show is cancelled and we’ll probably never know what’s going to happen next but it’s fun to think and theorise about it

Who is the Shadow Government?
Tumblr media
During Inside Job's intro, we can see short frames of all the characters, including the Shadow Government.
Has anybody else noticed that three of the members have some scribbles on them? This was surely intentional since it's animation.
Tumblr media
The most obvious one is this one at the bottom left: their eyes have been marked on by someone, why is that? Is this an ex-member who betrayed the Shadow Government and had to be sent to Shadow Prison or maybe something else?
Their face is also the one which is zoomed in at the top right of the screen during the intro (I'm guessing that because they look the most alike).
Tumblr media
Then we have this other member. Their face is circled with the same red marker and has something written next to it. I can't really make out what it's written except for the "of" in the middle (if someone is able to please tell me!).
Tumblr media
And last we have this other member at the top left, who is indicated with an arrow and something written next to it.
Tumblr media
And I also just noticed this one in the middle holding this mysterious book.
So, who wrote these scribbles? Why? What do they say? And what do they tell us about the Shadow Government?
I looked everywhere but I haven't seen anyone post something about this.
The Shadow Government is probably the most mysterious aspect of the series (I wonder why) but understanding what these red scribbles in the intro are could help us understand a bit more :)
And also
I love Brett

Inside job season 2 spoilers and fan theory
If the title isn't explanatory enough, there will be light spoilers in this post for season 2 of inside job.
So, when Reagen was in the simulation at the end and found the reality in which Ron* was truly happy, it cuts to him and seemingly another woman, which we don't find out until the end of the episode. But pay attention to the wording, *she asks for one in which THEY, as a collective are truly happy. Putting a pin here, lets talk about the Robes planning on betraying or fucking over Reagen. So here's my theory.
The woman IS Reagan, or whatever name she may go by in the future, and she either is hiding from or has taken the Robes down, leading to her needing to completely change her identity, and reconnecting with Ron.
Thoughts?

question that may or may not have already been answered (speculation is fine): where do the coords on JR's chest lead to?
i looked em up, they're tattooed as "33.0000°, -104.0000°" beneath his right collarbone in S2E7, and upon looking at the satellite imaging on G Maps, it's an obscure spot in the desert about an hour drive from Roswell. i was hoping for an easter egg, but it's also possible the animators just picked a spot in the desert for mystery and left it at that lol. anyone got any further info?

Can't stop thinking about Reagan joking that the world might still be trapped in the matrix she made. I'm assuming she made it when she was younger, since she says she made it after she saw 'The Matrix' (unless I'm misremembering the quote, someone check me on that), but is it possible that she made it not too long before the start of the series? Is it possible that Rand's activation of Project Reboot disrupted or maybe even ALTERED the matrix, if it was still up? Please, I've never seen the Matrix so I need someone with more knowledge of the movie to verify how possible it is that the events of Inside Job (up to 'Project Reboot' at least) are part of a simulation that Reagan made 😭😭
