squirt || ingrid engen x mapi leon x reader ||
Tumblr media
you let ingrid and mapi push you a little harder than normal.
minors dni, 18+ only, smut ahead.
"are you sure about this?" ingrid asked as she stood at the edge of the bed. mapi was in bed with you, but the question was directed solely at you. despite your reassurances that you trusted the both of them, ingrid was adamant in checking in with you constantly. you knew exactly what you were getting into for the night, and it excited you far more than ingrid was capable of wrapping her head around.
"yes, ingrid. i am sure about this. i've had a week to think this over, and if anything, all that has done is excite me even more," you assured her. ingrid swallowed back her nerves and finally let her excitement take over.
in an instant, gone was the nervous woman who had been questioning you seconds earlier. ingrid got onto the bed and crawled up to meet you and mapi. mapi's mouth moved down your body as she placed herself in between your body and ingrid's. at that, ingrid pulled you in for a kiss that clued you into just how things would be going.
ingrid masterfully set the pace with a rough kiss. she managed to pull an absolutely filthy moan from you with ease. ingrid used her hands to push your legs apart. she slotted her knee in between your thighs, pressing her own thigh against your cunt.
"shit," you gasped out. ingrid was smirking with her mouth pressed against your neck. mapi's lips curled into a smirk as well, which you could feel as she pressed open-mouthed kisses to your chest. both women felt great pride at how easily they were riling you up, despite knowing that their ultimate goal was not going to be an easy one.
a few too many drinks had some of the girls swapping sex stories. mapi and lucy boasting about their sex escapades was a fairly normal occurrence on a night out. what had surprised you was ingrid and alexia getting in on the discussion. your cheeks had been almost permanently tinted red whenever the two normally reserved women began to talk about you.
it didn't seem to matter to ingrid or mapi that they had spent countless nights with you compared to the handful alexia had. all mapi seemed to care about for the past month was the fact that alexia had managed to make you squirt without the use of toys. ingrid seemed impressed, but hadn't shown a direct intrest in purposefully fucking you like this until mapi goaded her into it.
"i don't want to be the only one naked," you told them as they began to remove your clothing. ingrid didn't make any moves to take her own clothes off, but mapi quickly completely undressed herself for you.
"bien?" mapi asked. you nodded as you reached out to touch her. ingrid huffed as you turned your attention towards mapi, but let it happen anyway. you pulled mapi in for a kiss, and the spanish woman happily returned the kiss. you wrapped your arms around the back of mapi's neck, lightly scratching at her scalp as her tongue swiped past your lips.
mapi's hands grabbed onto your hips, pinning you down as she ground against you. ingrid pulled back, seemingly content with watching for a couple of moments. it wasn't often that she had the opportunity to sit back like this. mapi had a tendency to be very needy whenever it came to ingrid, but tonight, they both needed to focus on you. they had discussed it at length before coming to you about what they wanted from this experience.
"more, i need more mapi." your voice was breathy, and you felt like a mess already. mapi moved her hand in between your legs, angling her hand so that you could grind against it. her fingers softly stroked through your folds, just barely pressing against your entrance as you rocked against her hand.
"how does she feel maria?" ingrid asked as she moved in behind mapi. for the first time since mapi had kissed you, you looked over at ingrid. she stood behind mapi completely topless, but your eyes couldn't focus there for very long. instead of admiring ingrid's body, your eyes were drawn to the way that ingrid's fingers tweaked and teased mapi's nipples.
"so good, ingrid. she's already so wet," mapi answered. you could hear the struggle in her voice. mapi wanted so badly to just melt into ingrid, but she couldn't. instead, she pushed two fingers inside of you. you were wet enough that there wasn't really any resistance, but you could still feel a little bit of a stretch.
"that's right, keep fucking her like that. fill her up. i want to see her stretched around your fingers like the good little whore i know she can be." ingrid's voice sent chills down your spine, affecting you more than her words were. mapi's jaw dropped, as if she couldn't fathom the way that ingrid was talking about you. dirty talk wasn't something that came out of left field, but that was usually mapi's thing to tell you how well you felt to fuck when she was pounding you into the mattress from behind.
"can you take more?" mapi asked you.
"yes, please. i want to be a good slut for you and ingrid," you told her. mapi let out a little whimper, a mix of your words and a rough pinch to her nipples from ingrid. the dark haired woman moved out from behind mapi to position herself over your body.
you wished that ingrid would have taken her pants off so you could have craned your neck up and tasted her. you knew that she would have threatened to tie you down with several reminders that this night was just about them making you cum. still, even the briefest of tastes would have sufficed you for the few minutes it was going to take you to cum.
mapi's fingers were hitting all of the right spots inside of you, and the added stretch of three of her fingers had you well on your way to longing for a thick strap. you opened your mouth to ask for the toy, when you found yourself being cut off. the sudden pressure of ingrid sucking your clit into her mouth had you screaming out. it felt like overstimulation, but you hadn't even cum yet.
"shh, shh. yes, that's it," mapi cooed as she angled her fingers a little differently. you could feel your body begin to tighten as you hit your first orgasm. mapi and ingrid didn't let up at all, pushing you straight into a state of oversensitivity. you wanted to scream out, both in pain and pleasure, but it felt like all of the air had been sucked out of your lungs.
"mapi… ingrid… p-please." you were panting heavily, unable to catch your breath. ingrid's hands came up to rest on your thighs, rubbing soothingly as she continued. the sensations of everything began to blur together as you found yourself being thrown into another orgasm.
this time, you could feel the familiar weight drop from your stomach. it started as a small dribble leaking out around mapi's fingers. the closer you got to a feeling of pure euphoria, the stronger the gushes of liquid spurted out of you. ingrid pulled away from your clit as mapi removed one of her fingers from the mix. you thought for a moment that they'd let up, and you were prepared to beg them not to, but then you felt ingrid push two of her fingers inside of you.
the new stretch had your stomach dropping once again. ingrid offered gentle praises about how well you were being for them as she fucked you. there was nothing gentle about their fingers pistoning in and out of you. mapi pressed soft kisses to your thighs. you felt so good that you were on the verge of blacking out, but ingrid and mapi carefully removed themselves from you before that could happen.
"go start the bath. i'm going to put the sheets in the wash," ingrid ordered. mapi slipped away quickly, leaving you afraid to be alone. you hooked your finger on ingrid's belt loop to keep her from leaving, but the attempt never came. "you did so good for us. thank you bebita."
"you were great, better than great. i love you." you mumbled your way through your words, but ingrid still understood them. she cupped your cheeks and gave you a gentle kiss. she stayed with you until mapi came to get you for the bath. you let mapi cuddle you in the hot water, nearly content enough to fall asleep until ingrid came in to get the two of you. they both helped you to dry off and get dressed before the three of you got into bed together.

the law of attraction II Ingrid Engen x Mapi Leon x Reader
Tumblr media
masterlist I word count: 1880
a/n: hi, it's based off this lovely request here. On a different note, how adorable are Ingrid and Mapi in that gif ?! ❤️
“Here comes our little genius, girls.”, Mapi told her teammates proudly while you walked towards the injured defender. Their curious glances made your face turn hot.
“Maria, we’re the same height, so stop calling me little!”, you playfully rolled her eyes at her.
“Sure.”, she shook her head in amusement.
“Girls.”, Ingrid intervened smiling.
“Ingrid, hi.”, you greeted her, happy to see the Norwegian again.
“Hi. Nice to see you.”, the dark-haired woman responded, wrapping her arms around you for a hug.
“Great to see you too. Also watching you two at training is something different than Uni.”, you mumbled thankfully into her embrace.
The weight of the library books in your rucksack reminded you of what you’ve been doing the whole day. Spending too much time in front of your laptop without successfully coming closer to solving the mathematical issue you’ve been working on.
“She’s getting some distraction from a math problem.”, Mapi explained to the fellow footballers with a smug grin on her lips.
“Yes, maybe the distraction helps me to solve it later.”, you replied in a hopeful tone.
“Worth a try.”, Ingrid nodded.
“Exactly.”
“Such a smart ass.”, the tattooed Spaniard teased you.
“Maria.”, the Scandinavian scolded the older woman before she continued beaming at you, maybe we can all grab some food together after training?”
“Yes, that sounds like a good idea.”, you answered happily, you could really need a distraction and being in your friend’s apartment with Bagheera who loved to cuddle with you sounded delightful in your ears.
“Math nerd, it’s time for the beauties to get to work.”, Alexia reminded the three of you winking.
“I’m not keeping them from it.”, you pointed out laughing.
To her captain the defender said slightly annoyed:” Yeah, yeah, we’re coming.”
On their way to the training pitch, Marta remarked:” I mean you two have a personal supporter here so you should be motivated.”
“She's probably calculating some stuff in her head instead of watching.”, Mapi commented with a smirk.
Ingrid agreed: “As usual but she looks adorable while doing so.”
“Yeah, she does.”
Both of them watched on as you stared into space, too occupied with the equations in front of your inner eye.
Alexia shot her two teammates a suspicious look and teased: “One could almost think you two are in love with her.”
Mapi laughed nonchalantly: “Oh, please.”
“We're not.”, Ingrid protested, a pinkish hue appeared on her cheeks as she jogged off to warm up.
Alexia followed closely: “Just focus on training.”
“I am focused.”, Ingrid said.
The team captain looked over her shoulder at Mapi with a raised eyebrow: “I mean both of you.”
“Ale!”
She shrugged Mapis complaint away: “I just want to train.
Right after training, you found yourself at Mapis and Ingrids apartment. The takeaway you picked up on your way back filled the kitchen with a delicious smell of freshly cooked Thai food. You gathered around the kitchen table as Mapi started to set the table.
“You girls did so well.”, you remarked as you opened the styrofoam boxes, eyeing the food.
Mapi chuckled: “It was just a training session… or did you mean picking the food?”
“The food actually.”, you grinned, cheekily stealing a fork full.
“Of course, we're great at that.”, Mapi replied.
You started to spoon some food onto your plate and smiled: “Trainingwise, you both seemed a bit distracted.”
“Distracted?”, Ingrid echoed, almost dropping her fork in surprise.
“Yes.”
Her girlfriend swiftly changed the topic: “Tell us instead if there's someone distracting you from doing too much uni stuff.”
“No, no time for that. Besides you two do that already.”, you answered truthfully.
The norwegian blinked at you innocently: “We're not doing anything.”
“Right, we only invite you over for dinner or games.”, Mapi nodded.
“See?”, you only asked, the couple clearly already made the point for you.
Mapi gave you an unimpressed look and said around a mouthful of food: “You could just say no.”
“Yes, but I like going.”, you had to admit.
“And you can't work on your uni stuff all day round.”, Ingrid joined in.
“Exactly.”
You sighed. It was charming that they worried about you but in the end, you had chosen this career path and you loved what you did.
“It's kind of my job…”
“Yes, and we're so proud of you.”, Ingrid said, carefully reaching across the table to take your hand in hers.
You took a deep breath before confessing:” Thanks. It just gets lonely at times. Sometimes I want to have a relationship but then I again, I don’t think I would have time for that.”
“You know we’re always here for you, right?”, Mapi asked you in a cautiously tone.
You shot her a grateful glance: “I do, and I appreciate that.”
“You know, I think there might be a solution for this.”, the Spanish defender begun.
“You do?”, you lifted an eyebrow curiously at her.
Turning her head to face the Norwegian, Mapi continued:” I think Ingrid is thinking the same.”
“I am.”, her girlfriend nodded earnestly.
Confused you looked between the football players:” What are you talking about?”
“Tell her, Mapi.”, Ingrid urged the Spanish woman to keep talking.
“We could provide the relationship stuff for you while you focus on your studies.”, the defender suggested.
“Wait.. are you saying..? You must be joking.”, you responded, the surprise clearly written all over your face.
“No, we’re serios, y/n.”, Mapi reassured you.
“We both want to be with you.”, Ingrid emphasized the previous words of her girlfriend.
“I thought I was the only one with the crush.”, you replied still shocked by the offer of your friends.
“Oh dear, you might be very book smart, but..”, the defender smirked.
“But not when it comes to girls.”, the Norwegian ended the sentence of the older woman equally amused.
“The laws of attraction.”, Mapi hummed.
“That’s something they don’t teach in University.”, you answered, running one hand nervously through your open hair.
“No worries, we can teach you that like you taught me math at school all those years ago.”, the defender promised in a soothingly voice.
“I think I would like that.”, you declared smiling.
“So would be.”, Ingrid grinned satisfied.
“I can’t believe that.”, you giggled in disbelief.
“You better start believing.”, Mapi said.
“She’s a mathematician, she probably needs proof, Mapi.”, the dark-haired woman reminded the older player.
The Spanish defender mumbled:” Good point.” She was the first to kiss you, Ingrid followed swiftly. Both kisses tasted like the start of something new and exciting.
“What do you think? Enough proof?”, the Scandinavian midfielder gave you a challenging look.
“Yes, I think that was enough to make me believe that you were serious about this.”, you responded with a shy smile on your lips.
“That’s what we wanted to hear.”, Mapi commented beaming.
It took you some time to get used to a new relationship but a few weeks in, you could confirm that you felt happy and safe with your two girlfriends. So, of course you were a tiny bit sad when they left for the Champions League semifinal in London while you had to stay in Barcelona and work on your thesis… Or at least that was you told them.
Ingrid stood on the perfect green grass at Stamford Bridge right before warm-up. She watched the stadium slowly fill through a curtain of rain.
With a soft sigh, she said: “It's sad that y/n couldn't come with us to London, Mapi…”
“Maybe she can join us for the final if she isn't too busy.”, the injured defender shrugged.
“I mean it's in Spain which might make it easier for her.”
“That would be great.”, Mapi agreed.
A sudden grin appeared on Ingrids face as she pointed over towards the away fans. A red and blue flag had caught her attention. “Oh look, someone in the stands has the same flag as you, Mapi.”
As Mapi followed her gaze, Ingrids jaw dropped in shock: “Wait, is that y/n?”
From your place in the stands, you had no idea what your girlfriends said but the way their faces went from shock to lighting up with excitement told you everything you needed to know.
“There's no way!”, Mapi exclaimed.
“That little bi-…”, Ingrid started but was quickly interrupted by Marta who nodded in Vickys and Salmas direction. “Ingrid, not in front of the children!”
“Sorry.”, the Norwegian laughed before pulling Mapi with her towards the stands.
Laughing, you waved your Barcelona flag as they came to a stop in front of you: “Hi Ingrid, Mapi.”
“What are you doing here?!“, Mapi asked, leaning over to plant a kiss on your cheek.
You shrugged: “Surprising you girls.”
“You said you were too busy!”, Ingrid pouted.
“And I was busy but one of my fellow students reminded me that you only live once, so…” You gestured around the stadium with an innocent smile.
Mapi shook her head: “Why do you listen to them but not to us?”
“It's a scientific fact that we only have one life…”
She did not let you finish and instead rolled her eyes: “I can't with you nerd.”
“Me neither but I'm really glad you’re here.”, Ingrid smiled at you.
You grinned: “You're welcome.”
“You'll be our lucky charm.”, the defender winked and you could feel the blood rushing into your cheeks.
“Hope it works.”
Ingrid gave you a quick kiss: “See you after the match.”
“Have fun but win this.”, you called after her as she hurried away to warm up with the rest of the team.
Over her shoulder, she replied: “With Mapi and you we should be able to.”
“Ready, Mapi?”, you asked the Spanish defender smirking.
She took your hand in hers, replying confidently: ”Ready.”
“I can’t wait.”, you exclaimed as they started playing the hymn of the women’s champions league.
Despite the rain the team of your girlfriends were eager to win this and Mapi and you tried your best to support them from the stands. After the match ended in a 2:0 for Barcelona, your friend cheered:”Y/n, we won!”
“Ingrid was amazing, right?”, you wanted to know from her, your eyes lit up with excitement.
“Yes, she was.”, Mapi grinned at you. Both of you were too caught up in your bliss, so you didn’t saw the Norwegian coming.
“Hey!”, she greeted you, mirroring your bright smiles.
“You were so great, Ingrid.”, you told her proudly.
“Thanks.”, Ingrid responded.
“We’re so proud of you.”, Mapi mumbled while wrapping her arms around the taller woman who lifted her up easily in their hug.
“You were amazing support.”, the younger player declared.
The Spanish defender who was pulling you into the group huddle announced with a cheeky grin:” That means you’ve to come to the final too.”
“I do?”, you questioned amused.
“Yes, absolutely, you can’t say no.”, Ingrid tuned in.
“I’ll see if I can make it happen.”
“We’ll count that as a yes.”, Mapi winked at you before kissing first the Norwegians cheek than yours.
And indeed, you were able to come to the Champions League final much to the happiness of your girlfriends. The law of attraction didn’t allow anything else. Love has won before any of the teams graced the pitch.

Time Has No Concept (Ingrid Engen x reader)
Tumblr media
It may not have officially been winter but that didn’t stop the -5 degrees feel any warmer. You always said you liked the cold weather or at least you weren’t bothered by it. Today was a true test of that.
Walking out for the pitch inspection you only have one thing on your mind or more specifically one person.
“It hasn’t even been a week” Keira tries to tease you but fails because you don’t bite.
“I don’t care. I spend every day with her in Barcelona so when we’re apart a day is like a week.”
It was true. It didn’t take much for you to miss Ingrid. You moved to Barcelona after the euros and quickly became friends with Ingrid. It stayed like that way until you won the Champions league. It was a night to be remember for more reason than one.
Lucy and Keira agreed to go with you to Ingrid as she was with Caro and Ada.
“Tell me why you, a Norwegian native, are wearing more layers than me?”
“Because I’m not a human heater” Ingrid opens your arms and makes herself comfy.
“Hello my love” you look down at her, fully disregarding the company around you.
“Are you nervous?” Ingrid asks as she sees a crack in your confident persona.
On game days you were serious, locked in and there was little anybody could do to steer you from this mindset. Ingrid however had the unexplainable ability to see through it and as she stands on the pitch in your arms she sees her girlfriend, not the England captain.
“About the game, of course not” you wink playfully “about what comes after, a little bit. I just want to make a good impression”
“Pull back your shots and maybe you will”
Ingrid knew you would never do as she asked so isn’t surprised when she gets a scoff as her reply. The two of you stay together in each others arms for a few more minutes as you involve yourselves in the conversation between Lucy and Ada.
It was very well known that you hated wearing base layers but it was advised to put one on gor the game given that it might snow was forecast. That didn’t stop you from removing the thermal layer within the first ten minutes when you saw their goalkeeper go down. At half time most of them put a second base layer on and an extra pair of gloves whereas you opted for a cup of tea instead.
The post match team huddle was one of the quickest in team history and the lap around the pitch that followed matched it. Only one or two England players remained on the pitch to thank the fans, you were one of them. Once the last photo was taken your attention shifted to a different kind of fan.
There she stood talking animatedly with two people who you recognised from the time Ingrid FaceTimed home whilst staying at your apartment.
“Y/N!” The younger boy, Ingrid’s nephew you think, shouts.
“Look at you” Ingrid cannot believe you are standing next to her in the now -8 degrees, maybe even colder, in only shorts and a shirt. No base layers, no gloves, no coat “You’re going to get a cold”
“You forget that I don’t get sick, it’s my superpower. Besides, I’ll have you to keep me warm” you are millimetres away from kissing her when you are interrupted.
“Y/N, please can I have your shirt?”
“No”
“Yes”
Much to Ingrid’s dismay you give her nephew your shirt. He takes his coat off and quickly puts your shirt on over Ingrid’s. The smile on his face rivals the Cheshire cat’s and you whisper in your girlfriend’s ear that the look on his face makes it worth it.
Ingrid holds her jacket open and pulls you close as you chat away to her brother about the game, happy with the fact that the two of you get along well and that you will have a familiar face when you meet everybody else a little bit later. It is only when she feels you shivering against her does she politely end the conversation so that you can go inside the stadium.
“Shower, please. No ice baths. We can go on a recovery walk tomorrow” your girlfriend knew your post match routine well at this point but prayed that tonight you would stray without any arguments.
“Yes ma’am” you salute her before doing as your told.
Almost two hours later you were pulling up to Ingrid’s parents house. Ingrid seemed confident that her family would like you. The way she grabbed your hand and led you into her childhood home did ease the nerves building inside you.
Luckily for you, Ingrid’s nephew is the first to see you and pulls you over to show you his Legos. You can’t believe that you are using a child as a shield against her family.
The protection doesn’t last long because your girlfriend soon calls you over to her parents. You had practiced this speech plenty of times in the mirror.
Mr and Mrs Engen, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Y/N Y/L/N.
Yet when you get within a meters distance of them you freeze. These are two of the most important people in your girlfriend’s life and making a good impression on them is a must.
They stare at you for what feels like an eternity and you can also feel Ingrid’s eyes on you too. Another thing you notice in the corner of your eye is the smirk that is tugging at her lips.
“You were right. In person she isn’t anything like she is on the pitch” her father says.
Still you are frozen. Do you slip the player switch on and play the confidence card? No, that might be too much and they’d know it’s an act.
“Hyggelig å møte deg” you hold your hand out for both her father and her mother.
Their eyes widen and you don’t know if it’s in shock or horror. Your girlfriend’s silence didn’t help either.
“I said nice to meet you, right?”
Ingrid leans in and kisses your check.
“Elskling, it was perfect” Ingrid compliments you.
“She is right. The pronunciation was very good”
“Ingrid didn’t say you knew Norwegian” her father adds.
“Our team mate Caroline has been teaching me after training”
Ingrid knew you had been having lessons with Caro, you had told her that much. She just assumed it was Spanish because of how quickly you picked up the native language of your new club. Never in a million years did she think you’d be learning her language.
The four of you talk for a little while. You get to know Ingrid’s parents and they ask all sorts of questions. They are mainly football and life in Barcelona related. You don’t get the hurt my daughter and I’ll kill you speech but you suspect they are waiting until you’re alone for that.
After the introductions you retake your place on the floor with Ingrid’s nephew. His company you found a lot less intimidating. Her parent’s are sat on the sofa behind you watching the tv with some of Ingrid’s other relatives but you aren’t bothered by their presence.
“Y/N” Ingrid shouts from the kitchen where she is helping her brother with the food.
“Yes, my love” you reply.
Ingrid’s parents share a look that you don’t see. Was the nickname you had given their daughter part of your English charm or were you really in love with her.
“So you love our daughter?” Ingrid’s father asks rather boldly.
“Pappa!” Ingrid comes to your rescue just in time.
The three important words had not been said but the feeling was there.
“I do” when you stand to your feet you feel betrayed by your body and mouth.
“You do?” Ingrid face is the picture of shocked.
“I do” you whisper softly “I think I’ve know for a while. Everything was made clear in the summer. I was heartbroken but you took me in your arms and held me until I was whole again”
There it was. The admission that you, for some unknown reason, had been scared to make.
Ingrid didn’t care that her family was surrounding her. She kissed you with the same passion as the kisses you share at home. It may not be an intense kiss but it is enough to convey her feelings.
“I love you, I really do”
What comes over you, you have no idea but you lean back in for another kiss, a peck. The public display of affection does earn a fake gagging sound by her brother before he announces dinner is ready and served. You do have to hold back a laugh when he goes the extra lengths to let everyone know he did it without his sister’s help.
Later that night you get another hot shower to warm you up. Maybe your girlfriend was right about you getting sick.
The two of you lay in Ingrid’s teenage room.
“Did you really mean what you said earlier?” Your girlfriend asks you.
“What did I say earlier?”
Hearing this Ingrid sits up and slaps you on the chest. The impact send you into a coughing fit.
“Don’t play with me. Also, you’re getting sick. Take these”
You are handed two tablets which you take happily despite your stubbornness.
“I meant it but I thought it was too soon and I didn’t want to scare you away. How was I suppose to tell you I love you after only being dating for a month, in fact we weren’t even dating, not officially”
“You knew after a month?”
“You think it’s too much. You see, this is why I didn’t want to tell you”
Your brain went into overdrive as you began overthinking your decision.
“It’s not too much Y/N. I met you a year ago yet I feel like I’ve known you a lot longer. I would shock myself at how easy I would open up to you. When it comes to you it’s like time has no concept”
Nobody has ever spoken about you in that way. You were never anyone’s person until you met Ingrid.
“Jeg elsker deg” Ingrid pecks you on the lips “Jeg elsker deg”
When you fall asleep that night you do so with a huge smile on your face and a sense of calmness that you very rarely feel.
The next morning Ingrid wakes up to the sound of you coughing, or more accurately barking, in the bathroom.
“I’m sick” you admit when you see Ingrid standing behind you in the mirror.
“Come on I’ll make you some broth that will have you feeling good as new in no time”
“You don’t have to. I’ve taken some more medicine, I’m ok”
“I know I don’t have to. I want to and it’s what I do for the people I love”

The fans and the media all try to know who she is, crossing her privacy ecc and start to say very mean things to her so she start to pull away cause she's sad and think that Ingrid can have someone much better but Ingrid confort her cause she only wants her
I want you and you only // Ingrid engen
Tumblr media
You and Ingrid had been dating for a couple of months now despite the three year age gap you both had going on. She loved you loved her that all that matters.
Ingrid always wanted to come wacht a few of the games oblivious and to support her. but due to timid and shy personality she understands and didn't push your buttons about it anymore.
You being you not wanting to feel like you disappoint her started going to the machetes even though sometimes you felt overwhelmed.
A few fans started noticing you're interaction digging in to recorde any sweet moments they could catch and post it on various platforms. The media trying to see if you had any celebrity status.
Ingrid had noticed the sudden attraction you both got from the public and told you to keep it on the for your own behalf but you took that too heart thinking that she was pushing you away and didn't want people to know about you.
You continued visiting Ingrid and supporting the team which lead to more media abuse.like fans finding out your private account and send you hateful messages saying Ingrid deserves better than you targeting your looks weight and everything they could critique about you.
You stopped coming to the games and kept rescheduling dates with her where you bearly showed up.
Slowly you started wondering if you were good enough for her.you already got the memo from people you weren't good for her or anyone.
tonight you planned on breaking up with her she had invited you over and you couldn't ignore your girlfriend soon to be ex.
Ingrid on the other hand had been very worried about you. Especially when she saw how the past few days you had declined her she was very worried after seeing things being said about you.
Arriving at Ingrid places you felt really nervous you were about to break up with the woman you loved the most.
Taking a deep breath before knocking on her door.
The door had opened with a worried looking Ingrid.she had immediately pulled you into a hug and kisses all over you face.
Oh lord how we're you supposed to break up with her you thought.
"Baby I was worried you stopped answering my text the last few days-". She tried to finish but got cut of by you.
"Let break". You told her with a cold stone face.
"What why did I do anything wrong".
"No you did nothing wrong it me I'm the problem you deserve better than me". You told her.
"What do you mean you're amazing please tell me your aren't listening to what people say".
"It not only that Ingrid you pushed me away when I tried to be there for you".
"Baby no I didn't mean it that why I just said it so you don't feel pressured I love you please don't leave me. She told you with tears flowing from her face.
You couldn't believe yourself for believing all that you had an amazing woman in front of you why would you try to ruin it.
"I'm sorry baby I just don't understand why everyone just seems to have something to say about me". you told her now crying.
"I love you and you'll always be enough to me". she told you
"Love to too".you said before grabbing her face and kiss her.

Three's Not A Crowd
Mapi León x Ingrid Engen x Reader
Word Count: 2.8k
[WOSO Masterlist]
It was an accident.
If confronted about it Ingrid will vehemently deny snooping.
Because she wasn’t. In any way.
It all began with a simple tidying up. No matter how many times Ingrid reminded Mapi not to leave her various books and bags around the house the Spaniard just never took it to heart.
So doing what she does best, Ingrid puts them away for her girlfriend.
Opening the hallway closet, she starts the daunting task of hauling the heavy bag onto one of the higher shelves. It’s there, when the bag is halfway over her head that something falls out, the zipper not having been fully shut.
A couple curse words are grumbled out when the object smacks her square on the top of her head. Sighing, Ingrid crouches to grab at what she realizes is Mapi’s sketchbook… only to pause when she sees the page the book has fallen open onto.
Mapi’s artistic abilities have always been magnificent. When not busy with football or taking Ingrid out on dates, the Spaniard can always be found sketching away in some corner of their house. Ingrid’s always the first to point out how wonderful she finds her girlfriend’s pieces of art but these particular sketches, they’re nothing if not breathtaking.
Ingrid picks up the book, fingers lightly tracing the unfamiliar face staring back at her. Whoever Mapi’s captured down on the paper is nothing if not beautiful. Your eyes look kind, mouth curled up into the gentlest of smiles.
Surprisingly it isn’t jealousy Ingrid feels at the sight of someone else captured so perfectly by Mapi. It’s curiosity that causes her to flip through page after page of Mapi’s sketchbook, each one containing a different picture of you through what’s clearly multiple different days. In some of them you’re staring right at Ingrid through the pages of the pad, in others it’s only your side profile that’s been captured.
The more Ingrid looks, the more her curiosity grows. And it’s this same curiosity that has Ingrid knocking on their shared bedroom a couple minutes later, book still in hand.
“Who is this?” It’s not an accusation, words coming out soft and curious as Ingrid gently places Mapi’s sketchbook down next to the defender.
Mapi’s body all but freezes when she sees what Ingrid is referring to, eyes growing comically wide. “That’s uh, she’s um-- I just… she caught my eye-- and I… I--”
Mapi’s clearly at a loss of words, and Ingrid is quick to put her out of her misery.
Ingrid puts a light hand on her girlfriend’s shoulder. “Mapi, don’t worry about it. I know you’re loyal. This isn’t me asking if you’re cheating on me. You love me too much to ever think about breaking my heart.”
The blonde’s quiet for a moment, looking down at her fingers. Ingrid waits patiently, as the Spaniard gathers her thoughts.
“She works at the cafe next to the park.”
Ingrid listens, if not with a little too much investment, as Mapi details the first trip that took her across your path. Something about you had Mapi returning time and time again, if just to hear your voice or get some work done in your presence.
Mapi finishes her story and they put away the sketchbook and their day goes on as normal.The conversation really should have put an end to the thoughts swirling around her head, but something keeps tickling at the back of Ingrid’s mind.
She should let it go.
Ingrid knows she should let it go.
But everyone says curiosity kills the cat and that’s exactly what happens.
Ingrid goes to see you.
Well she actually goes to the cafe at which you work at, but it’s definitely with the intention to see you in action.
And see you in action she does.
Right from the get-go Ingrid can understand why Mapi’s been so drawn to you.
You’re soft spoken, eyes sparkling as you take her order. When Ingrid hesitantly pauses over unfamiliar Spanish words you don’t make a big deal out of her sudden switch to heavy-accented English. Instead, your smile grows wider, happy to converse in your native tongue. You converse in light English. Ingrid only stumbles over her words every here and there but you don’t comment, nodding along to everything she says as if they’re the most interesting thing in the world.
You’re just so nice and just so sweet and…
Ingrid finds herself coming back to see you again. And again. And again.
She grows used to the way your face would light up when you catch sight of her walking through the doors. You’re always quick to nudge your coworker out of the way just so you can take her order.
Ingrid doesn’t expect to feel things.
She’s in love with Mapi, she knows that. The two of them are supposedly going to get married in the future, live the happiest of lives together.
But something about you is just so alluring. And it isn’t like Mapi isn’t attracted to you either. Although her girlfriend has never said it out loud, Ingrid knows her fascination with you is due in part to how beautiful she finds you.
It’s after practice that Ingrid makes up her mind.
There’s really nothing to lose either way. Either it works out, and she can make Mapi happy as well. Or it doesn’t. Worse case scenario the two of them will just have to get their caffeine fix somewhere else.
Ticket clutched in hand, Ingrid walks up to the counter.
---
Working at a cafe was never in your plans.
But neither was uprooting your entire life and moving across the ocean to Spain.
A year ago you had a really nice job, a loving girlfriend, a life you were sure was set to last you until the end. Walking in on your girlfriend in bed with “the friend you didn’t need to worry about” really turned everything on its head.
When your job’s contract ended there wasn’t really anything keeping you tied down to the city you really only moved to for your ex-girlfriend for. So with nothing but a suitcase and plane ticket in hand, you made the rash decision to go to the ever sunny Barcelona.
You’ve only been here for a couple months, but you’re already in love with the city and the culture.
You get used to the everyday buzz of your routine. Wake up, go for a jog, head to work, make some coffee for some pretty girls, go home, rinse and repeat. Really not too much to focus on so it’s no surprise you noticed her right away.
Bleach-blonde hair, reserved but beautiful smile, yeah, how could you miss someone like her?
She always ordered the same thing whenever she came in, one hand clutched around a small book and pencil. You’ve only ever heard her say her drink order, her name, and a polite thank you when you’d bring her drink, but beyond that, she was a mystery to you.
During lulls in your shift you’d often find your eyes drifting to where she sat, head buried in her book as her pencil made its way across the page. Her ink was magnetic, so many tattoos everywhere, her arms, hands, neck.
You come to look forward to the days Mapi would come in. Every Monday like clockwork.
And while Mondays were for Mapi, Thursdays were for Ingrid.
Ingrid was another one of the girls you’ve come to look forward to seeing.
Unlike your Spanish crush, your Norwegian crush grew out of fondness.
At first you thought it was funny, having feelings for someone not from Spain in Spain. But Ingrid would always do whatever she could to make you laugh when she came in. She’s funny and attentive and just so caring, it’s no surprise you find your crush growing with each day.
So yeah, maybe you’re crushing on two women in Barcelona, but it’s not like the other knew about your feelings for them or the other woman, so you feel vindicated to continue pining over Mapi on Mondays and Ingrid on Thursdays.
When Ingrid asked you to accompany her to a Barcelona match your first instinct is to say no.
First off, you never expected her to actually ask you out.
Secondly, and more importantly, your best friend from home was always trying to get you to go to a soccer game with her but you never found much interest in people kicking balls around for ninety minutes. But to squander some alone time with a beautiful girl away from your place of work? Well that sounded pretty appealing.
The closer the match day gets the more excited you become. The day of the game you find yourself trying on at least half of your closet before calling your friend for help. All you really got was a bunch of teasing remarks, but with only a few minutes to spare you make it out the door to the game.
You send a text off to Ingrid when you get to your seat. Everyone around you is already joyous, spanish chattering going off everywhere around you.
But then the minutes tick by and your text is still left unread and Ingrid is still nowhere to be seen. It’s already passed the time Ingrid said for you to get to the game, but you can’t seem to get ahold of her nor can you spot her anywhere.
You frown. Maybe something came up and Ingrid’s just running a little (a lot) behind?
Or perhaps you were just the fool to ever believe a gorgeous woman like Ingrid would ever be into someone like you.
Your heart sinks at the prospect of being stood up.
Suddenly your mood drops, no longer as excited at watching the game as you were earlier. The longer you sit here without seeing any hint of Ingrid, the more you find yourself wishing you never accepted the ticket in the first place.
You’re broken out of your thoughts when the crowd around you starts cheering, the first of players starting to jog out onto the field for warm-ups.
Blinking away what you know would be tears of frustration, you let your eyes rake over the unfamiliar players. Mapi’s the last thing on your mind as you wonder where Ingrid can be, which is  why you almost do a double take when you see someone who looks a bit like her jog right past you.
Wait.
Your head whips to the side to track the player.
Mapi’s dressed in Barcelona colors as she lightly pushes one of her teammates on the field. She’s now on the other side of the pitch, but you can still see the way she’s laughing and joking around with her teammates.
Before you can really make sense of what you’re seeing, you feel your heart stuttering to a stop for the second time in seconds.
There’s a familiar tall figure running up to Mapi’s side, throwing an arm around her shoulder. You would know that dazzling smile from anywhere.
Ingrid is on the field.
Ingrid is on the field next to Mapi.
Ingrid didn’t ask you to go to today’s game with her. She was asking you to watch her play in today’s game.
And watching Ingrid play soccer apparently meant also watching Mapi play soccer too.
Although you’re here for Ingrid you can’t help but drool over how good Mapi looks streaking down the field.
She seems to dance with the ball, effortlessly launching it right into the path of her teammates.
You’re standing up and cheering when her assist turns into a goal.
She’s celebrating with her teammates when you see Ingrid tug on Mapi’s sleeve. And then they’re both looking at you. You flush red at the gigantic smile on Ingrid’s face and the confused yet still slightly pleased look on Mapi’s.
When the final whistle blows you’re not quite sure what the proper etiquette is.
You’re still debating whether or not you should head out and text Ingrid later when you notice her heading in your direction.
It’s automatic, the way your lips curl up into a smile.
Until you realize she’s got one hand on Mapi’s forearm.
It’s obvious that the two of them are arguing about something. Mapi’s eyebrows are drawn together, hand’s waving in front of her as she rapidly says something to the Norwegian. They’re still too far away for you to hear them but you can still make out the way Ingrid fondly rolls her eyes at the other woman.
As soon as they come within earshot of you though, Mapi falls silent. She’s looking a bit shy and bashful, not at all as confident as when she was playing earlier, but Ingrid still drags her to a stop in front of you.
“You could’ve told me you were playing in the game when you asked me to come, Ingrid.”
Ingrid grins. “Where’s the fun in that?”
You let her pull you into a sweaty hug, laughing when she shakes you side to side before letting go. Ingrid gives Mapi a slight nudge before the shorter woman gives you a subdued hello.
She looks nervous. For what you’re not quite sure. If anything, you should be the nervous one. What’s your luck that the two women you’re crushing on know each other?
It almost seems natural, the way Mapi leans into Ingrid, and the way Ingrid so readily slots a hand on Mapi’s waist.
It takes a moment but your heart drops when it clicks.
“Oh, are you guys… you’re together?”
What. The. Fuck.
No, you’re not crushing on two women who know each other. You’re crushing on two women who happen to be together!
“Si,” Mapi confirms, looking a bit uncomfortable at the way Ingrid keeps manhandling her towards your body.
“Anyways, how did you like the game?” Ingrid butts in, eyelashes batting at you.
Your eyes keep darting between hers and Mapi’s. “It was… it was a nice game. I can’t really say I have much experience to compare the match to, but you guys definitely tore up the field.”
Ingrid hums. “Well we’re just going to have to change that, won’t we.”
You don’t really understand what she means so you stay quiet, giving her a polite nod in response. If you were embarrassed thinking Ingrid stood you up earlier, there’s no words that can describe the way you’re feeling now. All you want to do is go home and curl into a ball. You’re going to need a couple days of wallowing about to get over these two stupid little crushes of yours.
“The girls are planning on going out, if you want to come.”
Nervously scratching the back of your head, you try to swallow the lump in your throat. You’re not quite sure why Ingrid looks so hopeful when Mapi’s literally held in her arms right in front of you.
“I don’t know…”
It’s the sight of both Mapi and Ingrid’s faces falling that instantly makes you start doubting your decision.
“Please?” Mapi rasps, hand lightly falling upon your arm.
Mapi hasn’t really said much this entire time, but your eyes drop to where she’s touching you, face instantly heating up at the simple feel of her hand on your skin.
“I--” You make the mistake of raising your eyes, making direct eye contact with Mapi. The Spaniard’s eyes are soft and it feels a bit as if she’s staring right into your soul. Her fingers absentmindedly dance their way down to your arm as you try to say anything other than how much you’ve been thinking about what exactly her hands can do.
“Well I suppose an hour or two out won’t hurt.” It comes out of your mouth without you really intending it to.
But your heart feels a bit lighter at the way Mapi instantly looks like you’ve just made her day. Ingrid’s sporting a similar smile, chin resting upon Mapi’s shoulder. As gently as she can, Ingrid shuffles Mapi out of the way. You don’t have any time to react before she’s leaning in to press a kiss against your cheek. You’re sure your face is flaming red when she pulls back, but then Mapi’s leaning in next, kissing you just as softly as Ingrid did. She lingers for a beat, pausing to tuck a wayward strand of hair behind your ear.
“Wait outside the corridor for us, yeah? We’ll let security know to let you through.”
Still dumbstruck you nod, not able to get rid of the tingling warmth from your skin.
The two of them bid their goodbyes before disappearing down the tunnel towards the locker room. There’s nothing you can do but stare after their departing figures, hand coming up to touch your cheek as if you can’t believe what’s just happened.
Because now that you’re really thinking about it, what did just happen?

Summary: Maria and Ingrid and determined to make amends
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were showered, dressed and on your way to breakfast in record time, you had just made your way into the elevator and the door were just about to close when a hand stopped it and your heart stopped when you saw the two people you had been purposely avoiding enter.
Maria and Ingrid.
——
You really didn't know how to react, you were sure the universe were playing some sick joke on you.
Your eye fell to the floor as you made yourself as small as possible, backing into far corner hoping the elevator would hurry up and get to your floor.
As your luck would have it, that was not the case as you felt the elevator stutter and the the lights flickered as the elevator came to an abrupt stop.
You couldn't believe it. Your heart started racing as your chest stared to feel tight.
You hated small spaces and they knew that.
Sitting on the ground you brought your knees to your chest, focusing on your breathing to try and calm yourself down but it was no use.
Your ears were ringing and the longer you were sat in this elevator the worse it got.
You cursed yourself under your breath for forgetting to charge your phone, there is three people who can help you like this. Maria, Ingrid and Alexia, you didn't want to ask the first 2 and you had no way to contact alexia so the next best option was to calm yourself down.
Too focused on trying to calm down you didn't notice the worried glanced sent your way by Maria and Ingrid nor did you notice them getting closer until you felt a warm hand cover the one on your right knee. You look up, met with the worried eyes of Ingrid,
"Breathe elskling." She said in a soothing tone.
She began guiding you how to breath, showing you how to do it and getting you to copy her. Her hand on your knee started rubbing soothing circles as she continued to guide you.
"You're doing so well carino, just like Ingrid." You heard Maria chime in, you hadn't noticed but she had been speaking to the staff through the emergency button on the lift.
Your breathing had almost steadied out and your heat rate dropping back to normal as you started to come back to reality but then reality hit and the past few weeks came flooding back.
Removing Ingrids hand from your knee, your gaze found your shoes as you mumbled a quick thank you.
You heard Ingrid sigh before she sat with Maria at the opposite side of the elevator, Maria mentioned that they would try fix the lift as soon as possible but until then we would have to wait it out.
After 10 minutes you started to get restless, you were so bored and with no battery on your phone you were stuck trying to keep yourself entertained.
You heard a throat clear so you snuck a glance to see two pairs of eyes already on you, trying to divert your eyes as quickly as possible but Maria spoke up.
"Amor can we talk? Please?" She said, voice filled with desperation.
"There is nothing to talk about." You snapped back, unsure where the sudden burst of anger came from.
Hurt and guilt, two emotions so clear on the faces of the Spaniard and Norwegian. You didn't care though, you had been to hell and back for weeks and not once had they apologised to you or at the bare minimum spoken to you.
"We just want to explain ourselves, please and if you still want nothing to do with us after then we will leave you alone." Ingrid pleased, voice sounding as desperate as Maria's did.
Anger bubbling up inside of you, unsure if it was due to wondering where they got the audacity to ask you to explain themselves after how they have been treating you or the fact you are considering hearing them out after everything that has happened.
"I have nothing to say to you and I don't care what you have to say to me. - You spat, feeling tears welling up in your eyes - You both have had multiple opportunities these past few weeks and neither of you have even thought to apologise."
You were emotionally and physically drained, you were really at the end of you patience and you couldn't speak to anyone about how you were feeling, well other than alexia but you have been feeling like a burden to her so you really don't want to bother her, not when she has her own issues.
The more they persisted that you listen, the more you were considering it. You had no energy to keep fighting so with a roll of your eyes you gestured them to start talking.
Ingrid started, "First off elskling we are so so sorry for how we have been treating you - Maria hummed in agreement next to her - when we bailed on you it was not intentional, we were getting dressed when a few of the girls randomly showed and made plans which we tried to had to get out of but we couldn't, not without explaining why."
Maria was next to speak, "We felt so guilty and then to see you in training, we really wanted to approach you but we thought it would be better to give you time to cool off. Then you got the concussion and we so badly wanted to run over."
She had to take a deep breath to calm down before continuing, "We've done a lot of thinking, if you give us another chance we are done hiding, done not communicating properly because we love you so much, our relationship is not the same without you carino."
Your head was spinning, did they really love you or were they just trying to get you to let them back in so they could hurt you again. You couldn't handle that, not again.
You were broken out of your thoughts when the elevator came back to life, going down to your stop before the doors finally opened. You sprung to your feet, racing out past the maintenance workers and a very confused looking Aitana.
Entering the bathroom you leaned over the sink, taking a deep breath and splashing your face with cold water.
Silently berating yourself for even thinking about the possibility of forgiven them but you couldn't help in, you were in love with them and no matter how much you tried to get over them, you couldn't.
The door swung open revealing a concerned looking alexia, she rushed to your side, talking in really fast Spanish which you didn't understand but by the tone of her voice you could tell she was concerned about you.
She held your face in her hands, searching your face for any kind of indication on how you were feeling.
You wanted so badly to tell her what happened, how it makes you feel and how angry with yourself you are that you were ready to drop everyone and forgiven then, even after everything they've done but it was as if you forgot how to speak.
You just shook your head, reassuring her you were fine and that you just got worked up due to the small space, not wanting to bother her with your issues.
She didn't seem convinced but could tell you didn't want to talk about it so instead she comforted you.
——
Later on in the evening you and alexia formulated a plan to make them jealous, you were excited but also nervous, when you were with them they were quite territorial and you don't see why this would be any different.
It was the following day, you had just beaten Real Madrid 4-0 in the final and you were all celebrating with champagne in the dressing room when an idea popped into alexia's head.
She grabbed a bottle of half finished champagne and made her way over to you, holding your jaw in one of her massive hands, you looked at her confused but she just gave you a 'play along' expression so you relaxed, she tilted your head back while guiding you to open your mouth, she brought the champagne bottle up to your lips without breaking eye contact and began to pour it in your mouth, you felt you face heat up as she used her thumb to wipe the excess that dripped down your chin as your teammates now focused on your two and we're cheering.
There were 2 sets of eyes burning holes into you both and if looks could kill alexia would most certainly be dead, she noticed and sent you a subtle smirk before retreating back to her cubby, you're still stunned.
You heard them sigh loudly before exiting the changing room, no one noticed and just continued partying, you were dancing with Frido and Mariona.
A while later you all were packing up and heading to the bus ready to go to the hotel and get ready to go out partying.
You were heading towards the exit alone, one of the last to leave when you were tugged into an empty room, your body tensed as you squeezed your eye shut, a surprised squeal left your mouth which was muted by a hand.
The hand was removed as your heard a light switch turn on but you never opened your eyes, "Please don't kill me," you begged.
Receiving no reply, you opened your eyes to see a confused but amused looking Maria and Ingrid, "We aren't going to kill you cariño," Maria spoke, her voice soft.
You visibly relaxed but were hit with a wave of anxiety, you knew they were probably wanting to talk about your 'show' with alexia but they had no right to an explanation from you, not after how they treated you.
"Uhh, not to be rude but why did you drag me in here?" you questioned, voice small as you did not like being under the intense gaze of the two older women.
"What was that?" Ingrid asked, voice filled with jealously.
"None of your business." you snapped, getting defensive at the hint of accusation in her tone.
"Are you and alexia together?" Maria asked, completely ignoring your previous comment.
"Again, none of your business!" you spat, voice getting louder as they kept speaking to you as if you had done something wrong.
You shrugged off their attempts at reaching out to touch you before opening the door and slamming it behind you, storming to the bus, you mood doing a complete 180 than what it was before they had dragged you into that room.
You took your usually seat next to alexia, admittedly sitting in the chair rather harshly, alexia looked over confused at the sudden mood change but when she saw Maria and Ingrid getting on the bus, looking rather guilty when they noticed you, she knew they were behind it and she was pissed.
She began standing, intending on confronting the pair but you assured her that you were fine and to leave it, involuntarily sitting down as the bus took off.
——
You were at a local club with the team, currently on the dance floor dancing to some song you don't even know, alexia was pressed against your back, one hand holding a drink and the other securely placed on your hips, swaying you both to the rhythm of the song.
Maria and Ingrid were sitting in one of the many rented out booths, eyes not leaving you and alexia on the dance floor, both of their faces void of any emotion but when alexia leaned in to whisper in your ear, from their angle it looked like she was kissing your neck, their expression changed to one full of fury.
"I can feel them staring," she giggled in your ear, you both laughed before the song switched to one alexia didn't really like and she took that opportunity to get you both refills.
Later in the night you and alexia had separated, dancing in a big group of your teammates, you had drank more and were borderline drunk.
You're dancing alone when a sensual song starts playing, you feel a body press into your back, hands holding your hips as Maria presses against your front, arms finding their way around your shoulder, essentially trapping you between who you now know is Ingrid. Being so close to them you could smell the alcohol on their breath.
You were so lost in the feeling of their hands on you, all of you dancing along to the music when you feel a pair of lips on your neck, you throw your head back getting lost in the familiar feeling, skins tingling where their hands roamed your body and lips touched your skin.
Suddenly hit with the reality of what was happening, you push them off and begin heading for the exit to the club, ignoring their calls of your name.
——
You had just gotten home from training when you noticed a bouquet of your favourite flowers along with a note at your door, you were very confused but as you picked it up and saw the hand writing on the note you rolled your eyes, it was Ingrid's.
Removing the old flowers from your vase you replace them with your new flowers, you knew you should probably throw them away but you can't.
The note was discarded on your coffee table, not able to bring yourself to read it.
Laying awake at night, your mind wandering to the note, curious to what is said but you didn't want to give in, knowing then knew what to say to have you crawling back.
Huffing you threw off your covers and made your way to the living room where the note was sitting on the coffee table, covered by a book so you didn't stare at it.
You ripped open the letter quite impatiently, almost tearing it in half and began to read, the letter had been split into two paragraphs, both handwritten by each Maria and Ingrid but both were along the same lines, both apologising profusely for their actions and how they have been treating you, saying there really is no excuse to have missed your anniversary dinner and professing their love to you but one line caught your eye, it was one of the last one.
'We will make this right, we will love you how you deserve to be loved.'
That angered you, you were angry that they sounded like they think they deserved a second chance but it also made you feel warm inside, butterflies in your stomach as your checks flushed, their possessiveness done things to you and they knew it.
You didn't want to forgive them, scared as to how they would treat you if you gave them another chance because you didn't want to go through this again, you couldn't but you fear you already have forgiven them.
You sighed, you had initially hoped that reading the note would calm you down but it just sent your thought spinning even more.
——
You were rushing into the training ground, cutting it fine after over sleeping, when you noticed a coffee and pastry from your favourite coffee shop sitting in your spot, you knew who done this as the coffee shop is one you frequented with Maria and Ingrid, your eyes traced the changing room to try find the duo, meeting their eyes you noticed they were already looking at you so you gave them a smile and mouthed a 'thank you'.
They had spoken to you a few times during training but you were short with your replies, not wanting to let them in, you could tell they understood but they still looked hurt.
Pairing up with alexia for all the drills, you were basically glued to her side laughing and having fun, Maria and Ingrid were not fans of this, sending glares your way, alexia noticed and winked your way.
They approached you after training asking if you wanted to get lunch with them after, you decline, stating you had plans to get lunch with alexia, sadistically enjoying the hurt expressions they have but also feeling kinda guilt as there is no plan to get lunch with alexia, making up the excuse to decline their offer.
Bidding your goodbyes, you race off to find alexia, hoping she isn't too busy and can actually have lunch with you.
You find her chatting with Irene and a coach so you hover close but not too close, not wanting to eaves drop.
She notices you and excused herself, making her way over to you, "Hola Bebita, are you alright?" She asked.
"I'm fine ale, would you like to have lunch with me? Maria and Ingrid asked me but I told them that I had already made plans with you," you said, her face broke out into a teasing grin, "Lunch plans with me? I don't remember seeing that on my calendar," she teased.
You rolled you eyes but laughed, "But of course I'll have lunch with you, let me finish up and then we can head out," she continued, you nodded before disappearing off to the changing room to pack up your stuff and change.
You're at lunch, having just told alexia about the flowers and the note last night along with the coffee and the pastry this morning, she was happy that your plan was working but she was hesitant, not wanting you to go back to them so easily after the hurt they caused you, you assured her that you wouldn't let them in so easily, if at all.
——
The following morning you were awoken by a loud crash coming from your kitchen, you shot up before grabbing your 'in case of emergencies' baseball bat from your closet, slowly creeping down the hall, heart pounding out of your chest, when you hear another crash followed by Ingrid quietly scolding Maria for making too much noise, stating that the Spaniard would wake you if she was too loud, you sighed in relief, glad it wasn't some psychotic murderer before you peaked round and saw Maria and Ingrid making breakfast and wearing matching aprons, your heart swelling at the sight.
You were confused as to how they got into your house before remembering you had given them a spare key. You made your presence know by clearing your throat cause them to whip around, Maria looking guilty as Ingrid swatted her, cursing her out for waking you before they had finished.
Your eyes trail to the mess behind them, ingredients scattered your kitchen worktop smoke, "We're making you breakfast, it was meant to be breakfast in bed but someone can't be quiet," Ingrid said, facing Maria when she said the last bit.
The pancakes they were cooking began smoking, not noticing as they were too busy waiting for your reaction, "Burnt pancakes, my favourite," you teased, they looked confused before the smoke alarm had their heads whipping around, Ingrid took the pan off the stove while Maria was wafting a towel trying to stop the smoke alarm.
They had made breakfast while your supervised, sitting on the countertop and tasting as they cooked.
You three spent the morning eating and chatting, it felt nice chatting with them, you felt relaxed and were opening up a tiny bit more which they seemed to notice.
It was an off day but they had errands to run so they bid their goodbyes and left shortly after, you were kind of disappointed when they left, you were enjoying their company and dare you say, you missed them.
You spent the rest of your morning sulking, missing the duo, deciding finally to complete your own errands.
Returning home you noticed a small box on the counter and a small note reading ' M & I<3' next to it, it definitely wasn't there before you left. Picking up the small box you opening it, revealing a pair of beautiful earrings, you were shocked as these looked expensive.
They had been so sweet ever since the elevator but you still had lingering doubt, doubt that if you let them back in things would go back to how they previously were, you didn't want to accept there gifts and they assume that all is forgiven because it's not and you're not even sure what you want.
Still the gesture was nice and you liked the earrings so you decided to keep them and wear them for the team night out tonight, you had a game at the weekend so instead of going to the club, you were going to dinner at a high end restaurant in Barcelona. Alexia had texted you while you were out, telling you that she was picking you up to head to the restaurant together and to be ready by 6:30pm.
It was just after 5pm so you decided to shower and get dressed, you put on a fancy all black outfit and decide on silver jewellery to match your new earring.
You had just finished the final touches of your outfit when your phone buzzed, it was a text from alexia informing you that she was outside, you lock up and make your way out to meet her.
Alexia had decided on a slim fitting black dress, matching black heels with red accents, a black coat and a red bag to match the accents on her heels and if you were being honest, she looked phenomenal.
You and alexia had entered the restaurant, one of the first to arrive, Maria and Ingrid had not arrived yet. Sitting in between alexia and Irene at the far end of the table, too engrossed in the conversation to notice Maria and Ingrid arrive, as soon as they arrived their eyes scanned the table looking for you, frowning when they notice the seats next to you taken, especially by alexia, alexia was their friend but she was too close to you, you were theirs.
They sat across from you, you looked in their direction and they finally noticed the earrings you had on, with a sly smile Maria commented first "You look gorgeous and the earrings go with your outfit, are they new?" Ingrid hummed in agreement, eyes fixated on your outfit.
"Thank you, they just showed up," you teased, they just chuckled.
You spent the majority of the night in conversation with the pair, you tried to engage with your other teammates but your mind was always on Maria and Ingrid, even though they were right in-front of you.
——
The following 2 weeks were similar, they would give you gifts relating to interests of yours, but it wasn't only gifts, they spent time with you and were genuinely trying to make it up to you, even though you hadn't explicitly gotten back with them, the line of friendship and relationship between you three was fading, no physical activities like kissing or cuddling but the chemistry between you was definitely not friendly.
There was still a deep rooted insecurity, the one that caused this whole issue, you knew before forgiving them you had to set clear boundaries, you didn't even mind not telling the whole world but not telling the team or your family is a big no.
They were coming over tonight, Ingrid claimed it was a movie night but you knew there was something they wanted to say and your best guess would be taking the next step.
You were on your couch, knee bouncing as you waiting anxiously for their arrival any second now. You must have zoned out as you jumped when you heard a knock on your door, composing yourself your answered and were met with Maria and Ingrid, they had a few bags of what you were assuming was snacks and dinner from your favourite restaurant, opening the door wider for them to enter you greeted them with a hug.
You three spent the evening eating takeaway and watching movies, you were sat in between them but you were not cuddled up, your eyes were fixated on the screen but every so often either Maria or Ingrid would turn to look at you, they would go to say something but stop themselves and turn back and focus on the movie.
It was after the third Harry Potter film when Ingrid turned off the tv, Maria flicking on the floor lamp so you were not in pitch black, they both looked at you and you shrunk under their gaze. They sensed this, Ingrid placing a comforting hand on your knee, trying not startle you by pushing you too far, your eyes were locked on your hands and you picked at the skin around your finger nails.
"Bebita, we need to talk to you," Maria started, she sounded nervous.
You hummed urging them to continue, "I know we have been apologising continuously over the past few weeks and we can never apologise enough." Ingrid started, Maria agreeing before continuing, "Me and Ingrid have been talking and we want you back, want you to be ours again."
You were silent, of course you knew it was coming but to hear them actually say it was a completely different story, you must have been lost in thoughts for so long because both girls started to get nervous, like they read the signals wrong and pushed you too early. "That of course is if you want us, we understand if you're not ready," Maria blurted out, voice shaky with a hint of disappointment laced in her tone.
You lifted your head and looked at them for the first time since the conversation began, "I do want to be with you again but I can't be with you if it's going to be the same as last time, I don't care if we don't tell the world but I want to tell the girls and our families," they looked sceptical by your request.
"I'm sorry but if we can't do that then I can't be with you," you told them firmly, finally growing a backbone and not letting them walk all over you.
No one said anything for what felt like ages, you assumed the silence meant that they didn't want you if it meant outing your relationship, you accepted this conversation as closure but you would be lying if you said it didn't hurt any less now there was basically confirmation of the end of your relationship, your eyes found your hands again, eyes stinging as you desperately try to hold back the tears.
"Ok," Ingrid said nonchalantly, your head shooting up, confusion written all over your face as you see both girls trying to fight back smiles.
"Ok what?" You asked, slightly irritated that they were smiling while your relationship was ending but you were even more confused.
"Ok we'll tell them, tell everyone that you're ours. We love you so much carino and we won't let anything stop us from loving you so if this is what you want, this is what we will give you," Maria stated, now both girls grinning from ear to ear, unable to fight back their smiles, you look over at Ingrid with a questioning look as she nods in confirmation.
The only way to describe your sudden feeling is euphoric, like the stress of the past few months had suddenly disappeared, you pulled both girls into you, hugging them both as best as you can but the hug was at an awkward angle, you couldn't care less though as you held onto them with a vice grip, scared that if you let them go they'd leave you again.
You feel them trying to pull away so you respond by gripping tighter, you feel their bodies vibrate with laughter, eventually Ingrid wriggles her way free, her eyes lock to yours, you both sporting matching grins as she lifts her hand to cup your face, wordlessly she leans in and you do too, meeting her half way, when your lips finally meet its amazing, her lips are plump and soft as they move against your own, her hand that's cupping your face tightens on your jaw as the other cradles the back of your neck, you change the angle by tilting your head slightly cause her to groan and press her lips harder against yours, your hand is still holding Maria while the other tightly grips her bicep.
So caught up with kissing Ingrid your surroundings blurring until your hear someone clear their throat, you turn around to see Maria feigning jealously, you grin apologetically at her before leaning forward and capturing her lips with your own, her lips soft like Ingrids though her kisses are rougher, still they send your head spinning all the same, she kisses you fiercely and passionately, teeth nibbling your bottom lips as you gasp, using the opportunity to slip her tongue into your mouth. You felt teeth nipping at the exposed skin on your neck as the Norwegians hands roam your clothes body, tracing from your shoulders down your back and around to your torso.
Eventually pulling away, your chest heaving as once again your face is plastered with a goofy grin, just ecstatic to have your girls back. You spent the rest of your evening watching the rest of the Harry Potter movies before begging them to take you to their apartment so you could have a much needed reunion with Bagheera.
That night they both had composed instagram posts to announce your relationship to the world, you tried to assure them that you were fine with just telling the team and your families however they were insistent, claiming that the world needs to know how in love with you they were so they posted a photo dump each, some with the three of you, some randoms ones of you on your own like when you fell asleep on the couch and Bagheera had claimed your head as his new bed.
You cuddled up in between them, content with how things panned out and hoping that that is the drama over for a while so you can just focus on your girls, not forgetting to text alexia an update, thanking her for her support over the last few months and wishing her well on her date and demanding an update when she returns home. Locking you phone and relaxing you shut your eyes as you three call it a night.
Just you and your girls and the cat.

~~~
You loved challenges. Or at least that’s what you told yourself, convinced yourself was the truth. You took pride in tackling difficulties in your life, facing any and each issue head on. So when you showed up to the training grounds of the FC Barcelona team, you didn’t really understand why you were so nervous.
Wiping your sweaty palms on your shorts, you contemplated why you had accepted the offer. Here you were, six thousand miles away from your childhood home and one thousand away from your second home, alone, in a country you had visited less than a handful of times, on a mission to prove yourself. You hadn’t really didn’t thought this through, had you?
Mentally kicking yourself for doubting yourself and then for being so socially awkward, you shook your head. You had this. You didn’t become a top class midfielder by doubting yourself. You hadn’t put in all this effort only to question if you deserved this opportunity.
Shaking your head, you pushed the negative thoughts of your mind, rolling your shoulders in a successful attempt to gain some confidence before finally grabbing your bag from beside you and stepping out of your car.
Mentally hyping yourself up, you had just barely shut your car door before an unfamiliar voice reached your ears, the smile on the speaker’s face nearly audible.
“Hi! You’re the new signing right?”
Turning your head around, it took everything in you for you to hide your shock (and awe) at who stood in front of you.
“I- uhm, yeah- I mean yes, yes I’m the new signing.” Stammering, you willed yourself to act at least somewhat collected.
“Well I’m glad we get to finally play with you and not against you, speedy. If I remember correctly, you and Leah had given us enough of a tough time the last time we played you.” Thankfully, the teasing tone didn’t go over your head, a smile appearing on your face at the friendly nature of the other midfielder. She began to walk past you, looking over her shoulder and slowing down, silently beckoning you to join her.
Taking long strides, you quickly caught up to her, falling in step beside her as you both crossed the parking lot.
“To be fair, your guys’ attacks weren’t any easier to stop by any means. Especially those of the sneaky number 11. Seemed like she had magnets on her feet and the ball with how fluidly she moved across the pitch,” you smiled back, the nerves in your body lessening slightly.
“I like you…you’re going to fit in well.” There was a smile on the taller girl’s face, a fond shake of her head further supporting her belief.
“I hope so,” you whispered. Unfortunately for you, your voice came out more panicked than you intended, the nervousness clear from the way it slightly shook.
Stopping in her tracks, the blonde turned towards you and put a hand on your shoulder, your footfall also pausing.
“Hey…listen to me, you didn’t just walk into here demanding a spot on the team. You earned it. And don’t be nervous about the girls either, they’re all really nice, I promise. Just relax, be yourself, vale?”
You nodded in response, inhaling deeply to try and calm yourself.
“They’re all really excited to meet you, ever since you were announced. Mapi’s actually already been talking about how you and her could master breaking multiple defences with your speed and her passing.”
You grin this time, warmth spreading in your body at the fact that the girls were already accepting you into the team. Letting Alexia lead the way, you followed her as she led you through the halls.
It was a a few short minutes later that the two of you were standing outside the locker rooms, loud yelling and laughter audible even through the thick walls and shut door.
“Excuse them, they can be a little hyper sometimes…” Alexia stated, head shaking fondly as she opened the door and ushered you in.
Entering the room however, the whole immediately quietened, almost as someone took a remote to the room and hit pause.
You were met with over a dozen smiles, a handful of the girls waving at you as you looked around the area.
Nervousness taking over your body again, you bashfully smiled back, raising your hand and giving a timid wave.
Almost as if she was sensing your nervousness, Alexia stepped up from where she was behind you and addressed the team.
“As you all are aware, we have a new teammate joining us today, I know you all will be welcoming but still, do your best to make her comfortable and please don’t be weird around her, at least for today.”
Shooting you a soft smile, Alexia headed towards her own locker, wordlessly gesturing for you to do the same.
Glancing around, noting the only open locker being beside number 23, you hesitantly made your way over. Standing a mere few feet away from her, you waited as she looked up from tying her laces. You had met Ingrid a few times before, it came with being friends with Frida. Your interactions with the other midfielder were limited, yet, unbeknown to the Norwegian, you’d always been mesmerised by her confidence and beauty, admiring the way she so easily glided between teammates and fans.
Nodding in question when you met eyes with her, you raised your eyebrows, silently asking about the locker beside her. The taller girl answered in the same manner, shuffling over, shooting you a gentle smile, one that you returned with ease.
Settling down beside her, you murmured a small hello, too shy for anything else. Caught up in unpacking your kit bag, you failed to notice the admiring gaze that Ingrid sent your way.
Deciding to take initiative, the Norwegian spoke.
“Glad to have you here. It’s going to be fun playing Frida now, at least I can be the one bragging to her about our fantastic mid-line.” Head snapping up from where it was buried in your bag, in the midst of looking for a hair tie, you tried and failed to hide your surprise.
“I- uh, huh?” You squeaked. Disbelief rolled through you. Not only did the Barcelona girls just accept you into the squad without the least bit of doubt, Ingrid, class midfielder Ingrid, pro at reading attacking plays Ingrid was complimenting you right now. You couldn’t tell if life was real right now.
Stopping your internal fan-girling, you spoke again. “I mean, you guys have an amazing mid-line, an amazing team all-around really. I don’t think I can improve perfection.”
“Considering I nearly hated playing against Arsenal last season, I’d beg to differ.” The dark-haired girl shot you a cheeky smile, unknowingly melting your heart.
“Fine, fine. Just know I’m just as excited to be here. And if it counts for anything, games against you guys were some of the hardest.”
“Team of champions right? More so now that you’re here.” You couldn’t tell if the other girl was trying to turn you to mush or make you feel comfortable, but whatever she was doing, you didn’t want her to stop.
You could only respond with a smile and a “hopefully”, your heart beating too fast at her compliments to string any other words together.
The two of you silently finished getting ready, your hair still loose. Following the rest of the girls out together however, you both at the back, you were failing miserably at putting your hair in a bun, it too short to stay without something holding it in place.
Noticing your struggle, Ingrid took her spare elastic off her wrist and handed it to you. “You know you could just ask one of us? And definitely me?”
A sheepish smile on your face, you took the hair tie. “I do now.”
And as you walk out together, Ingrid asking if you’d like to partner up for the day, you couldn’t help but feel even more relaxed, the homey and welcoming nature of the club (and of course of the brunette beside you) bringing you a sense of calmness.
~~~
It seemed like nervousness was becoming a common theme for you here in Spain. You were currently sat in the team bus, waiting as the rest of the team filed in. A pre-season game saw you all travelling out to Buñol to play a friendly against Levante. It wasn’t the fact that it was a pre-season that had you so worked up however. Just before leaving, Jonaton had pulled you aside, quietly informing you that you would be starting, news that came as a shock to you.
Since joining the team a slight over a month ago, you had barely played as a sub, much less as a starter, still trying to get a feel for where you fit in and the high on-field intensity of the team, so the decision had you dumbfounded. You assumed it was so that the coaching staff could figure out where to play you and how to best utilise you without the stress of it being an important game, but unfortunately for you, the once low-stress game had now become the main root of your anxiousness.
Headphones blasting, you noted as the doors to the bus finally closed, the last few stragglers taking a seat. It was then that the seat next to you was finally filled, your new bus-buddy appearing with her signature smile shining.
You couldn’t help the grin that took over your face, overriding your inner turmoil, the taller girl’s smile infectious.
“This seat taken?”
“Ingrid,” you shook your head in amusement, “do we really need to do this every time?”
The girl in front of you shot you a teasing wink before sitting down, a playful ‘yes’ escaping her lips.
The first day that the team had to travel, you had apprehensively boarded the vehicle, unsure of who you would sit beside, very much aware that there was a system to this, regardless of what team you were on. You had anxiously looked around, slowly stepping further down the walk way until you had made eye contact with Ingrid, her waving a hand to beckon you over.
Walking up to her, you had asked her the exact same question as seconds ago, and the Norwegian had just fondly shook her head, tilting it to the side. “I saved it for you.”
Your head had ducked down in embarrassment, endearment causing a slight blush to coat your cheeks, before you had taken a seat beside the brunette, her passing you one of her earbuds before relaxing into her own seat.
Since that day, it had become a sort of ritual between you two. You had only had a few bus rides since but each one consisted of either of you reaching the bus, sometimes together, and claiming a set of seats in the middle. When the other would eventually join, headphones would be shared or connected, the both of you more than excited to share your love of music, bonding over your versatility in styles.
So, as per tradition, Ingrid sat down beside you and you passed her your phone, letting her set up the shared airplay for herself.
Your thoughts being drowned out by the music humming through your earbuds, you let your head rest against the window, your leg bouncing fervently, partially in beat to the music but also due to your unease. Really, your whole body was thrumming, nervous energy almost palpable by the girl beside you.
You weren’t sure how long passed, the two of you sat in a comfortable silence, the chatter of the team fading to mere background noise. All you were aware was that between the handful of genres and songs the both of you had queued up, at least seven had passed, your nervousness not lessening like you had hoped it would.
Turns out, it wasn’t just you that was keeping track of your kangaroo leg. Ingrid was nearly losing her mind seeing you bounce up and down. The blurry motion of your limb just barely managing on, seeming as if it would fly off if it hadn’t been attached to your torso. She wondered why you were so hyper. It was only a friendly game after all.
Taking a deep breath in, she reached out to you, placing a gentle hand on your thigh, just above your knee.
The touch snapped you out of your thoughts. You turned to look at the Norwegian, a wry smile on your face, an eyebrow raised in question.
“Your leg. It keeps bouncing. What’s the reason?”
Eyes widening, you contemplated telling Ingrid about what Jonaton told you. He didn’t say you couldn’t tell anyone right?
“Uhm- Jonaton just told me a little while ago that I’m starting. I think he wanted to give me the bus ride as time to prepare, but if anything, I think it just made me more anxious.” You let go of the breath you were holding, your chest easing just by telling the girl beside you.
“That’s good! Right?”
“I think so? I’m just worried I’m not gonna play well y’know? Even though it is just a friendly…”
“I think you’ll play great, really. Just pretend that it’s one of our practices and that we need to kick Patri’s butt so she doesn’t get too big-headed,” the brunette joked, hoping to get a laugh out of you.
It was a successful attempt, a slight smile appearing on your face.
Shoulder’s relaxing, you took a deep breath in, Ingrid’s relaxed demeanour bringing you a sense of calmness.
It didn’t last long however, your heartbeat reaching its earlier speeds as you realised that the dark-haired girl hadn’t moved her hand yet. You quickly peeked at where it was resting on your thigh, sneaking a glance at Ingrid as well. It seemed that the Norwegian hadn’t noticed where her hand was placed, and you didn’t want to bring it to her attention, too afraid she’d take the grounding touch away.
A small smile on your face, heart racing for all the right reasons, you let yourself get comfortable in your seat, eyes closing, revelling in the touch and ground presence of your person.
~~~
“Your cheeks are a bit too red for a team photo…everything okay?” You knew the taller girl meant it out of concern but you couldn’t help but flush more at her statement, finding the concern etched on her face endearing.
“I- yeah, no I’m okay?”
“Are you asking me or telling me?” This time Ingrid turned to face you, taking the time to really check in with you while the photographer was still busy directing the rest of the team where to stand.
You could feel your face heating up now, starting to fan yourself to make it die down just enough that you wouldn’t look like a tomato in the photos.
“I’m okay. Sorry this is nerve-wracking.”
“It’s okay. It’s very easy. I promise. All you need to do is smile and look good, and you are already really pretty, so I wouldn’t worry.”
Ingrid’s words brought another wave of heat to your face, you now ducking your head down in order to avoid anyone seeing you so red.
Laughing at your reaction to her statement, the Norwegian smiled, proud of herself for eliciting this response. Choosing to put you out of your misery, the older draped an arm around you, leading you to where she was supposed to stand, photographer’s positioning be damned. Her arm resting on your shoulder, she pulled you in beside her, shooting anyone who tried to question your new position a glare.
You knew she meant well, but with her arm around your waist, Ingrid had just increased the already bright blush on your face by tenfold, resulting in you nearly looking like you’d been poorly sunburnt. Just with the knowledge that she chose to comfort you, chose to wrap an arm around your waist where no one else could see but you and her, your smile became electric, shining brighter, true happiness reaching your eyes.
~~~
Your first game with the team had been a success, if you were to say yourself. You hadn’t got much playing time, only being subbed in for the last twenty or so minutes, but with the team already up 3-0, the lack of pressure to play well allowed you to focus on connecting with your team. Sure, practices had given you the opportunity to learn how to fit in on the field, but mid-game? That’s where the real test was. And you were pretty sure you passed it, most, if not all, of your passes connecting, no fouls or cards your way, and you almost assisting a goal if it hadn’t been deflected last minute by the keeper. All in all, you were happy.
The team could tell, having witnessed your restless form on the bench throughout the first and second half, and in the locker rooms during half-time, where you chose to stand, shifting from foot to foot until Ingrid had pulled you down to sit beside her, the sides of your bodies flush together in order to fit on the cramped bench.
So seeing you now, chasing Ingrid and Aitana after they had dumped their water bottles on you, your own in your hand spraying reckless behind them, was a refreshing sight. Even Lucy, someone you had been lucky enough to play with on the Man City team, hadn’t seen you this relaxed post-game ever. If you asked her, she’d tell you that she was glad you fit in well with the youngsters on the team, and especially with the Norwegian you had dubbed ‘your extrovert’. The sunshine personality of the tall girl had brought out a more care-free you, evident by the way you were being piggybacked around the sidelines by a now-drenched Ingrid as Aitana trailed beside you both, the three of you interacting with fans.
By the time you all had made it into the change rooms, there was a content smile on all of your faces, you leaning into Ingrid as she quietly ushered you to change, the both of you whispering and laughing, unaware of all the fond smiles directed at you.
Yeah, if Lucy had anything to say, she kept quiet, adoring the sight in front of her, glad you weren’t putting too much pressure on yourself like you normally would. Mentally making a note to thank the Norwegian another day, she turned back to her kitbag, hearing your shared giggles fill the space near her.

“So what you’re basically telling me is that you’re addicted to coffee?”
You were currently out in the streets of Barcelona, the taller girl having nearly dragged you out after practice so she could show you her favourite cafes around the city.
“No. I just love the way it energises me and I know what good coffee tastes like.” “Meaning you’re dependent on coffee to get you through the day and you’ve tried enough coffee to be able to identify the imperceptible difference between good and bad brews?”
“Alright, now you’re just spinning my words.”
You merely shrugged in response, a teasing smile on your lips. “I’m not doing anything.” “You’re so annoying.”
“Yeah, yet here you are spending time with me?”
“I’m not answering that.”
You stopped in your tracks forcing Ingrid to stop too since your hands were intertwined.
Turning back to face you, she cocked her head to the side.
“Okay, what now?”
“I win.” “Oh my god, you’re insufferable. Listen, I’ll make you a deal…if you can tone down the annoyingness to zero, I’ll get you an extra pastry.”
“Tempting. You do love my annoyingness though...”
Rolling her eyes, Ingrid couldn’t stop her smile. “Sadly I do love it.” I might just love you.
“You have a deal. A pastry sounds heavenly right now.” Leading the way, you tugged on the brunette’s arm, the eagerness in your step at the promise of food taking her heart away and putting it in your hands.
~~~
“Why do you do this to yourself? And by choice?”
“Because it’s fun, and trust me, Alexia said the view at the end of this one is great!”
The two of you were currently up at half past five am, on a hike recommended to you by the two-time golden boot winner. You had somehow managed to drag Ingrid to do it with you, promising her a picnic and that you’d buy the coffee for the next week. (You didn’t know it, but Ingrid would’ve done it with or without the promise of coffee or food, happy to just be in your presence).
So here you were, about 1 third of the way done through the one and a half hour hike, the taller girl trailing behind you, questioning just why it was you of all people she had to fall for, silently of course.
The sun was set to rise at just slightly past seven, giving the two of you plenty of time to set up the breakfast picnic that you were currently carrying in your backpack. Though, you’d have to make it up there, and at the rate that the usually excitable and energetic Norwegian was gruffing at, you weren’t sure if a completion was in the cards today.
Calling out behind you, you thought it would be worth a shot to bribe the midfielder even further.
“If we make it to the top before….,” you checked your watch calculating the time, “fifteen before seven, we can have a movie night tonight, and I’ll let you pick whatever stupid horror movie you probably want to watch. How’s that for some motivation?”
Turning around to face the brunette, you waited for a response, her having stilled in her movement at the offer.
“Two movies, I get to pick both, and it’s at my place so that we can make a pillow fort.”
You were just about to agree to her terms, well-aware that she was as much of a child when it came to day to day activities as you were when the other girl beat you to it.
“Oh, and I get to pick the takeout,” you were met with a smug look, Ingrid confident that she was going to be the clear winner in this bargain, knowing how excited you were to do this hike.
“Ingrid…”
“I don’t mind turning back around?”
“You’re so stubborn, you’re lucky I’m the one who suggested this…” You couldn’t believe the cheekiness of the girl in front of you, laughing to yourself and shaking your head.
“Deal you dork. Now c’mon, we have a hike to finish and a time to beat.” Reaching your hand out, you let her take it, intertwining your fingers and pulling her in beside you, hands swinging in the limited space between your bodies.
Of all the people you could’ve taken a liking to here in Barcelona, in Spain, hell, the whole world, of course you had to choose the human golden retriever beside you. The one that was so perfectly stubborn, so energetic, and your anxiety-reducing, lovable, ray of sunshine here in the city. If you didn’t know any better, you’d spend the next few minutes of whatever minimal darkness there was in the sky looking for a shooting star, hoping you could have her in your life forever, preferably with a different title if the universe was feeling particularly kind.
~~~
“You do realise you can just ask her out right?”
Caro’s whispering brought Ingrid out of her trance. The two of them were sat in Alexia’s living room, the team deciding to hold a movie night under the pretence of a bonding session.
The midfielder had been staring at you, at your curled up body on the floor leaning what looked to be uncomfortable against the front of the couch. You had your legs pulled up to your chest, arms crossed above and head resting on the back of your folded hands. There was no way that could be comfortable and Ingrid knew it, longing to be able to just tuck you into her side, let you rest as she held you through your nap.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Ingrid shot back, voice a murmur, careful not to draw the attention of the other girls in the room.
“So the puppy dog eyes, always partnering up with her, sitting beside her, sharing your music with her, coffee dates and all have just been because you’re friends? Ingrid…she might be blind but we aren’t. I’m not.” Caro leaned away from Ingrid, not extremely worried about the other girls hearing her. They all knew, could see the heart eyes you two had for each other. It just seemed that while the both of you communicated extremely well on the pitch, the same excellency did not translate to both of you off the pitch.
Ingrid’s heart raced slightly just at the thought that you might return her feelings. Trying to remain cool though, she dismissed Caro’s (accurate) assumption. “No. We’re just friends. She doesn’t like me like that.”
“So you do like her.” The finality in Caro’s tone has the dark-haired girl frazzled.
“I-no. I never said that.”
“You didn’t deny it…”
“I-no…listen, it’s-“
“Ingrid…just ask her out okay? One of these days, while you both are together, like you two always now seem to be, just ask her out. I don’t think the team could take any more of you both shooting heart eyes at each other when one of you aren’t looking.”
Head hanging down in embarrassment, Ingrid blushed at just how obvious she had been. Really though, she couldn’t blame herself. No one else ever had her smiling like you did. No one else brought butterflies to her stomach even close to what you brought each time you’d walk into the room.
“Are you sure?”
“About you two being obvious? Yes. It’s sickeningly sweet.”
“No, about her liking me back…”
“Oh. Yes.” The tone of finality in Caro’s voice wasn’t lost on the tall girl, her heart racing at the idea of you liking her back.
“Also, please could you get her to a more comfortable position? I rather not see her hunched over from back pain tomorrow…”
Cheeks hurting from just how much she was smiling, Ingrid went to gently shake you out of your slumber, pulling you up to a half-sitting, half-leaning position beside her in the limited space. In your sleep daze, you didn’t realise what was going on, your body focused on going back to sleep, and so you let yourself be pulled up and sat down, cuddling into the warmth beside you, blissfully unaware.
The two of you stayed like that for the rest of the night, you eventually waking up to the unabashed teasing of your teammates and the sight of a blush adorably coating your cuddle buddy’s face.
~~~
It was a few weeks later that a team dinner found the both of you sat beside each other, the rest of the team becoming accustomed to you two nearly doing everything as a pair. Even with something as insignificant as photos for social media, you both would always be stood by one another, Ingrid’s arm often slung over your shoulders, your own wrapped around her torso. So really, no one batted an eye when you both simultaneously scooted your chairs closer to each other, bursting out in laughter when you realised your shared action and timing.
And as the dinner went on, the two of you only jumping into the conversation once in a while, more content to be caught up in your own world, in your own little bubble, the team couldn’t help but tease you when you would chime in, exasperated at the fact that neither of you had admitted your feelings for the other. If they had it their way, the pair of you would have been locked in an equipment room together ages ago. Luckily for you however, Alexia had long warned the other girls not to meddle, a soft spot in her heart for the both of you.
Now though, the captain may have just slightly regretted that decision. Witnessing the two of you be so tuned in with each other, likely appearing as a couple to those that didn’t know you, all the blonde wanted to do was let the younger girls put their plan into motion.
“You know, I have a feeling it’d be a lot easier to tolerate you two if you just asked her out.”
Ingrid had just barely stepped away from the table to head to the washroom when Alexia quickly slid into the seat beside you.
“Huh what…I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh come one, you guys are so lovesick all the time. She shoots you heart eyes when you both get ready for training and you don’t stop smiling when she’s beside you. Honestly the sweetness is making me sick, it’s annoying. Ask her out, make it easier on us.”
Alexia sounded absurd to you. “She doesn’t like me like that.”
“Says who? You both are always touching in some sort of way. She always goes out of her way to stand beside you. And don’t deny how she always practically hugs you in photos.”
“She’s touchy with everyone.”
“Lo dice en serio? When’s the last time she gave anyone her hoodie? She gave it to you right away after you spilled water on your shirt.”
“She would’ve done it for anyone,” you argued. You couldn’t believe Alexia was really talking to you about this. You knew some of the girls like Aitana and Patri had been teasing you two about this but you’d never thought Alexia would join in. And so what if it was true that you did like Ingrid. She just liked you as a friend.
“So you’re telling me she would’ve told anyone that they look good in her clothes?”
Alexia’s words evoked your face to redden, mouth opening and closing a few times, words evading you.
“Listen, it’s not like that.”
Alexia hummed, turning to get up from the seat. “She’s probably coming back soon. You believe whatever you want to believe…”
You pouted at her statement, watching her as she walked across the table back to her seat just in time for the topic of conversation to appear in the vicinity.
Surely she didn’t reciprocate your feelings right? You would have been able to tell. If anything you both just got on really well and she appreciated that…right?
~~~
“You’ve been quiet. It’s not normal.”
Snapping out of your thoughts, you turned to look at Ingrid.
The two of you were currently walking down the streets of Barcelona, the dinner having wrapped up only a short while ago. You both had (after a lot of back-and-forth) agreed that you’d walk the taller girl home, you joking that precious cargo should always be escorted.
“Just thinking…”
“About?”
“….stuff?” You answered, the statement more a question than a solid response.
“Well that doesn’t sound concerning.” Ingrid looked over at you, eyebrows perked up in question, waiting for you to continue.
Eyes shooting away to look ahead, you willed yourself not to make eye contact, choosing to continue walking.
It was after a couple of minutes of silence that you finally found your bearings and decided to take the chance.
“You think that if, hypothetically speaking, if we were to date, would we be good? Like good together? ‘Cause everyone keeps saying it and…” Gaze drifting to see Ingrid’s shocked expression beside you, you quickly backtrack, embarrassment coating your cheeks. “I- uhm, forget that I said anything. It was a stupid question. It doesn’t matter anyways.”
Body slightly stiffening, you forced yourself to pretend like you hadn’t just made a complete and utter fool of yourself.
The pair of you walked quietly for a bit, both lost in your thoughts, too afraid to voice out your want for the other. Letting the hum of electricity from the dim streetlights and warm glow of the stars and moon soften the stifling silence, you let your mind wander into what the potential outcomes could be of this night. You could very well end up in a situation where Ingrid liked you back, yet that seemed so unlikely, too perfect for it to be true. What you were more concerned about at the moment was whether you’d lose a friend, one of the only people that brought you comfort in this new city and club.
Stuck in your musings, you didn’t realise when you were nearly outside Ingrid’s home, The sight of the familiar street nearly breaking you out of your thoughts, yet not distracting you enough. It was then, as you approached the front of her house that the Norwegian’s soft voice pulled you out of your own troubled thoughts of how much of an idiot you were.
As Ingrid stopped in front of the gate, you could feel your heart starting to pound increasingly harder. You really didn’t want to lose her as a friend. You didn’t know what you’d do. You hadn’t met anyone as energetic as her before, her sunshine personality drawing you in, trapping you in a warmth of light that you didn’t want to escape.
You knew you couldn’t fully tell her, but the way your heart would skip a beat when she’d casually drape an arm over your shoulders had you smiling. How she’d drag you throughout the numerous cafes she’s discovered in her time in the city, never failing to make your day. You were absolutely smitten if you were honest, and the thought of her not wanting to be friends after becoming aware of your feelings absolutely broke you.
Noticing your dazed expression, Ingrid grabbed your fingers with hers, the both of you now standing hands held, out in the night, almost like two fools ready to partake in playground activities. Her intent behind her actions however was successful, pulling you out of your thoughts and into the present with her.
Taking a deep sigh in, your eyes now looking up expectantly at her, Ingrid jumped off the cliff she’d been resting on since you joined.
“I’d like to think we’d be pretty good together.” You swallowed hard at her words, eyes growing wide, too afraid to say anything. “You aren’t the only one who’s thought about it…”
This time, it was your turn to be shocked. You couldn’t believe what you were hearing.
“Sorry- what?”
She took a deep breath beside you, eyes now barely meeting yours, instead staring past you.
Peeking over at you to assess your reaction, Ingrid let out the breath she was holding.
“I think…and I’m sorry if I make this weird…but I think- no I know I like you, like more than a friend. I think I always have, ever since you shyly sat beside me in the locker rooms that first day.” Sensing she had your attention and that you hadn’t yet nearly lost your mind at her, she continued. “I’ve liked you for a while now, I just didn’t want to make things weird between us…I don’t want to lose you as a friend though. So if you don’t feel the same please just let me know, because I don't know how much longer I can hold back the urge to be with you all the time.”
“You are pretty much with me all the time though, so I don't know what you’re holding back on.” You spoke, hoping your voice didn’t betray the smile on your face. You stood, staring at the ground, kicking at the little pebbles at your feet.
Ingrid looked up at you slowly, an incredulous expression on her face. “Is that all you have to say?”
Meeting her gaze, you revealed the smile that you were hiding. “I think…I think we should go on a date tomorrow. What do you think?”
“Wait- really?” Laughing at the surprise on Ingrid’s face, you stepped in a little closer.
“Yup,” you said, popping the ‘p’, a smile bright on your face, even in the dim light. “You and me and the cafe around the corner you like so much…I’ll swing by around nine?”
And as Ingrid eagerly nodded her head vigorously, you couldn’t help but wrap your arms around her midsection, a chuckle espying your lips at her enthusiasm, nervous butterflies in your stomach finally, for the first time since you moved here, settling down into a comforting hum full of hope and happiness.
It felt good to be nervous, you liked this kind of nervousness.
Pulling the Norwegian close, a hug full of promises and a ‘see-you-later’, you couldn’t help but believe that maybe this move wasn’t so terrible after all.
(Future you would agree, a handful of years down the line, as you’d inevitably drag Ingrid on another hike, promises of date nights and cuddles a misdirection as you’d finally reach the peak, the brunette seeing the beauty of another sunset before turning to see the sight of you on one knee.)

Y/N was Barcelona's big hope after Martens left. Having come from Chelsea, she already had the experience needed to compete in the big leagues, add that to her young age, the kid had no ceiling, although the party animal lifestyle she led didn't help with team cohesion.
"You do realize that you need more than talent to make it here right?" Alexia questioned, it being more of a rhetorical question, before she walked away and continued their training drills. "Cut the kid some slack" you heard Mapi defend you "We all did stupid shit when we were young" she pleaded your case. The Barcelona captain was having none of it "I don't recall you going to parties before game-day during your time at Atletico" a dig aimed at you.
Ignoring the periodic jabs from your captain, you trained to the best of your abilities. "Y/N I want to try something new" Jona signalled to you "You're going to attack the space" he added.
Running behind the Barcelona backline was hard enough, add the drinks you had the previous night, and it sure made it a whole lot harder.
"Yup gotcha" you replied confidently, trying to hide how you actually felt.
"Sorry kid, I'm not going to make it easy on you" Rolfo declared "Captain's orders" she added looking at the midfielder who gave the Swede an approving look.
Each time you got a ball in behind the defence, the Swedish international stuck on you like glue, and when you did manage to get past her, you were met with an unforgiving Mapi.
"You good?" the defender lent you a hand, helping you up after her challenge that left you on the floor "Yup, yup" you replied cleaning yourself off "You girls are playing like it's the champions league final ya know" you added in an attempt to beg for mercy.
Alexia, who was keeping tabs on you during training approached "If only you did too" the midfielder said as she grabbed Mapi away, talking tactics on how to defend better against you.
This time, Alexia was on your team, well at least she was supposed to be. Giving you passes that made you run faster, that put you in challenging positions. Still, you ran, even when your legs couldn't keep up, until they couldn't anymore.
"Ouch" you mumbled on the floor "Not so easy huh" the captain approached you extending her hand to help you up with a mocking smile on her face. Standing back up on your own you replied "Don't pretend you’re not thrilled to see me like this" you cleaned yourself off again "Oh I'm not" the midfielder replied "I'm absolutely loving it" she added taking her position back on the field.
The rest of the training session was more of the same, brutal drills with Alexia, who pushed you more than normal, or defenders tackling you like their lives depended on it. To say that you were relieved when training ended would be an understatement.
While most of the players had already made their way to the dressing room, you stayed out on the field.
Laying on the floor, an apologetic Aitana approached "Sorry we were so tough on you today" she said as she sat down next to you "I get it" you replied "Your loyalties lie with the captain" you excused your teammates actions. The both of you stayed out making small talk until you caught your breath.
As you entered the dressing room, you caught the end of a conversation between Alexia and Mapi. "I don't get why you're so hard on Y/N" the defender stated, getting a cut throat answer from your captain "She's here to learn right?" she said, softening up on her follow up "I wish I didn't have to be so hard on her though".
Your presence was known as you responded to the captain's statement "Well luckily for you, I'm not here to be part of your little saviour complex" you said in a rather cut throat tone catching everyone off guard "If you stopped being a prick, I wouldn't have to save your ass" Alexia answered, clearly not backing down from your challenge.
Mapi picked up on the tension that built up and decided to jump in to stop it before it blew up "Ok ok- enough you two" she tried to calm the situation down "How bout we go out as a group" the defender suggested. "Pass" you replied "I have a party to go to" you added as you picked your stuff up and made your way out of the dressing room "See ya in 2 days" you peace'd out.
"It's weird that we have never partied with the party animal, no?" Patri asked, receiving a dirty looks from Engen who answered "Maybe you haven't".
Aitana, got the sudden interest to get to know Y/N's partying side "Maybe we should join her" she suggested, Engen replied "Actually, she invited me to the party"
Alexia was definitely not happy where the conversation was leading "Yeah- No, that would be weird" she answered an unasked question from her best friend that was begging with her puppy eyes.
"But, but.." the defender pleaded "Fine" Alexia finally gave in "But I won't stay for long".
Ana-Maria, who had partied with Y/N before, jumped in "So that's why she never invited you to join" she blurted out not thinking about the consequences of her statement.
"Wha-" the locker room was shocked "You went out with her before?" Patri asked. "I did too" Lucy joined, "I was curious why she didn't invite you out" she pointed at her captain.
"Yeah- I was shocked too" Ingrid added as they both laughed.
Nuria, who was Y/N's flatmate filled the gaps for everyone "Yup, definitely weird" she said "Especially when you look like that" she added.
Alexia, had no clue what her teammate was talking about so she asked "What do you mean what I look like?"
"Ale, you are Y/N's type" the fullback replied "Like, you couldn't be more her type if you tried"
"I'm pretty sure Y/N hates me" Alexia confessed. Ingrid tried to bring her captain's spirits up "Yup, because you are always so stuck up" the Norwegian stated "What if you show her your fun side" she added inviting the rest of her teammates to the party.
Multiple cocktails down, a couple of dances with random girls and two hours later, the group arrived at the disco.
Engen spotted you immediately "There she is" she stated grabbing Mapi as she made her way to you "Engeeen" you said hugging your favourite Norwegian "You made it" you looked behind her spotting some of your teammates "And you brought company" you added smiling.
Alexia had initially stayed away from your group, processing the information Nuria had thrown at her in the locker-room.
"You're overthinking it" the fullback spoke to her captain "Just go get a drink and loosen up", the midfielder initially refused her teammates suggestion until she glanced over at you dancing with some random brunette.
Nuria insisted again, pointing to the bar "Fine fine" Alexia replied before she made her way to the bar leaving the group behind.
Your drink looked pretty empty, that just meant one thing; "Time for a refill" you declared to the woman you were dancing with leaving her alone.
As you made your way to the bar, you saw a beautiful brunette, with an even better silhouette in a tight black dress "You're beautiful" you flirted with the woman placing your empty glass on the counter.
The woman turned around, shocked at the sight of your face- it was Alexia.
"You're drunk" she replied "I'm taking you home" she grabbed you by the wrist ending your night short.
"Noooo, let's dance" you stated, not realising you were talking to your captain. Alexia picked up on this minor detail, and seeing how you insisted on partying, she resorted to flirting
"I can give you a private dance" she whispered in your ear "If you come with me". The midfielder grabbed you by the hem of your shirt, leading you out of the disco discreetly.
The rest of the night became a blur. You woke up in an unknown apartment, in a bed, alone, fully clothed. "Well this is new" you stated to yourself.
Night-outs usually lead to hook ups with strangers, a different way to explore the city.
You got out of bed, appreciating the view "Where the fuck am I".
You heard sounds coming from outside of the bedroom, so you naturally followed them, having clearly learnt nothing from horror movies.
"Morning" a brunette turned around "A- Alexia?" you mumbled "Did... did we" before you finished your question your captain replied "God no" she handed you a cup of coffee "Here, drink up".
You sat on the bar stool, shocked at how your day off was starting. The Catalonian tried to make small talk.
In the middle of some weird question you interrupted her "Pardon my french, but what the fuck am I doing here?".
Getting the run down on the previous night, you blushed as you pieced the information being blurted at you with the the moments you remembered. "Wha- wait... we kissed".
Alexia laughed "Nope, that wasn't me" making you turn bright red out of embarrassment "But you wish it were" she mocked you further.
"You didn't answer my question" you attempted to change topic "So you're not as smooth sober" the midfielder teased.
"Aren't you supposed to be nagging me?" you asked confused. "Well, after seeing you having all that fun, I realised that I never showed you how to have fun with me" she attempted to speak in English as you weren't fluent in Spanish just yet.
Your bright red face signalled to a possible bad translation. "With THE TEAM" she corrected herself making you burst out laughing.
"Yeah yeah, now who's flustered" you laughed mischievously.

The Downfall Part. 2
(Mapi León X Ingrid Engen X Reader)
Tumblr media
Thank you @women-are-hot for writing this for me! I appreciate you for helping out!
The Downfall
“So when are you going to see her again?” You smiled as your best friend asked about your new love interest.
“After she comes back from Cancun which I think is next week.” Your friend nodded.
“And you don’t think they would be hurt, especially Mapi once you tell them about her?” She asked the question you didn’t know how you were going to answer.
“Ahh yeah…” rubbing your temple. “I’m sorry to say this but sleeping with them was a bad idea.” She mentioned Mapi and Ingrid shaking her head.
“We’re just fooling around. It’s not like I’m back dating them-“
“How many times have you slept with them?” She interrupted as you tried to justify the situation.
You sigh “five times” your friend shook her head again.
“But why?” She asked.
“It felt nice being back with what I was familiar with but obviously it’s not the same anymore.” You stated as your friend understood.
A few weeks later…
As the coach told the team they were done for today, you quickly got your things from the locker room and were about to go home, when someone grabbed your wrist.
“Who the hell-oh, hi Ingrid. What’s up?” you asked as you saw it was Ingrid, standing behind you.
“Uhm, I just wanted to ask if you could come over tonight? I miss you…” Ingrid answered, whispering the last part.
“I’m sorry, but I already have plans for tonight,” you explained.
“Oh yeah, that’s alright. Maybe next week?” Ingrid asked.
“Yeah, maybe” you mumbled.
A silence overcame the two of you.
“Hermosa, ¿Estás listo para irte a casa?” (Are you ready to go home) the voice from Mapi asked as she came out of the locker room and saw the two of you standing there.
“Hola Y/n” Mapi said with a smirk, making you feel things you wouldn't admit to others.
“I’ll see you on sunday, Ingrid” you said, not even acknowledging that Mapi was there, and walked away.
“Ella es tan infantil” (She’s so childish) you heard Mapi mumble to Ingrid, which she responded to
“She’s not the only one being childish”
You sat and waited for Gabriela to turn up to the bar that you had sent her an address for.
She had been on a vacation to Mexico for quite a long time if you ask yourself, so you were really excited to finally see her again.
As you were lost in your thoughts, someone from behind put their hands on your waist and you turned around to meet the face of who you thought maybe could be the love of your life.
“Hola cariño” she said and pressed a kiss to your cheek.
“Te he echado de menos” (I’ve missed you) you replied, feeling safe with her in your arms.
“Yo también te he echado de menos” (I’ve missed you too) she said.
“How did the trip go?” you asked and the two of you immediately got into a conversation.
That was one of the many things you loved about Gabriela. She was first of all nice and kind, but she always wanted to listen to what you had to say. You never experienced that before with anyone outside your family.
What you haven’t seen that night was Ingrid and Fridolina were at the same bar and had seen everything Gabriela and you had done.
Later that evening, Ingrid had stormed home with tears in her eyes and told Mapi about what she had seen.
Mapi had straight away got angry that you had hurt Ingrid, but behind it all, she also felt jealous.
She wanted to be with you and Ingrid again…
She knew, she was the one that had messed it up from the start…
You and your best friend were just enjoying an iced coffee at a cafe while you talked, but then your best friend's smile faded as she saw something behind you.
“What is wrong?” you asked.
“Uhm…” your best friend started, but was soon interrupted.
“Buenas tardes Y/n” someone said and you immediately knew who the voice belonged to.
“Maria, what are you doing here?” you asked and turned around.
“I want to talk,” she answered.
“Then talk” you said harsher than you expected to.
“¿Podríamos hacerlo solo nosotros dos, por favor?” (Could we do it just the two of us, please?) Mapi asked.
“Multa” (Fine) you answered and excused yourself from the table as you walked out of the cafe with Mapi.
Mapi was about to take your hand, but before she could take it, you backed away.
“What did you want to talk about so badly that you had to stalk me in a cafe?” you asked.
“¿Tienes una nueva novia?” (Do you have a new girlfriend?) she asked.
You looked at her, not at all had thought she would ask you that.
“No, why would you ask that?” You answered.
Mapi shrugged.
“Ingrid came home two days ago, crying, because she had seen you with another girl at some bar. Now, I ask again. Do you have a girlfriend?” she explained and you swear that you could feel her tense.
“I do not have a girlfriend…” you said.
“Then who were you with then?” she asked.
You stayed silent, trying to find an answer.
“So, you do have something going on with this girl?” she asked and you literally felt like she had asked about a million questions now.
“Kinda…” you answered.
Mapi’s mouth then went into a straight line while she nodded her head.
“What about Ingrid and I? Were we nothing?” she asked.
“You and Ingrid meant the world to me when we were together, but as you know, it didn’t work out. Then I also know that it wasn’t right to sleep with you and Ingrid, but it made me feel good to be with something familiar if you know what I’m talking about” you answered.
“But it would never feel the same like it did before, right?”
“Si…perdón” (yes…sorry)
“Está bien, supongo que” (It’s fine, I guess) Mapi said.
“Let me talk to both of you tomorrow? Please” you said wanting to clear the air to which she nodded.
It was the next day and you were over at the shared living area you used to call home with your former girlfriends.
The conversation started off with you explaining why you would not be sleeping with them anymore. As well bringing up your new love Gabriela. However, things took a turn when Mapi opened her mouth.
“What does she have that we don’t?”
You paused and Ingrid looked at Mapi confused.
“¿Mande?” (What?) you asked, almost wanting to laugh.
She repeated her sentence then taking a sip of her drink.
“That’s none of your business” you said with a firm tone trying to remain calm but it was clear what she said struck a nerve in you.
“¿Por qué te enojas? I just asked a simple question” (Why are you angry?) She said.
You got up from your chair grabbing your jacket. “Thank you for having me over but I think it’s time for me to go.” You said.
“I asked a question and you get offended and want to leave?” Mapi chuckled.
“You know what” you begin to say “this is exactly why I left in the first fucking place!” You raised your voice.
“Because of what?!“ Mapi looked to continue the argument.
“Wait guys! Let’s not do this!” Ingrid worried.
You were going to calm down but Mapi kept fueling the fire.
“I took care of Ingrid while you were over at clubs doing god who knows what!” Mapi said.
“¡No mames! I never cheated” (No fucking way) you said in disbelief.
Taking a minute to think tuning out whatever Mapi was saying you finally spoke “I’m done with this conversation. We are teammates and that is it!” You said walking away towards the front door.
“¡Lo que tú digas! Don’t just come crawling back again!” (Whatever you say) Mapi yelled.
“Yeah fuck you!” You flipped her off, opening the door.
“Fuck you!” She yelled as you slammed the door.
Walking out the door you felt bad for Ingrid and how things were going to be awkward between you and her but you quickly ignored it as your anger for Mapi took over. All you wanted was for everything to workout but that’s not going to be the case.

You met Ingrid and Mapi through your national teammate, Frido. She invited you to watch her play after weeks of begging you to come visit her in Spain. She's actually been wanting you to come see her ever since she joined Barca but you refused to step foot in the hot sauna that is Spain.
It took a great deal for Frido to get you out of Germany, agreeing to pay for all the Swedish snacks and shipping to your apartment for the next year. So here you were, sitting in the family and friends section with sunglasses and an outfit perfect for the heat, apparently that day was the coldest of the year but the bucket of sweat rising from beneath your skin, says otherwise.
To no one's suprised, Barcelona won and two hours later, you found yourself crammed in a club surrounded by Barca players. You mainly stuck to Frido's side, your basic spanish wasn't enough to communicate with drunk spaniards. Mariona and Patri came to drag you and Frido away from the corner table, you politely declined.
On a regular day, you would've jumped at the chance to get drunk and dance your heart out but you were an outsider. You didn't know anyone, at least not to a personal degree, and you weren't comfortable enough drinking in a foreign country when your only ride and guide is blacked out drunk.
Fighting your inner party spirit, you stuck behind and relaxed. Frido made sure you were all fine and dandy before following the two, promising to be back after one song.
Spoiler alert, she wasn't.
That gave you more time to get lost in your thoughts as you watched how the people in Spain get down. Unaware of the attention you've attracted, brown and blue eyes observed your every move, taking in the solidarity you've secured yourself in.
Mapi and Ingrid recognized you instantly in the stands at the game, the fast forward of Bayern. You held a track record of knocking defenders down on their asses, embarrassingly, Mapi being one of them. Your name recently made headlines in Europe with increased plays, you were the unstoppable player that everyone wanted but couldn't have.
All thanks to Frido, the couple finally had a chance to test that statement out. Before you came to the city, the couple had their eye on you for a while. A clip of you celebrating a win with your Bayern teammate went viral all over the internet. It was a hard video to miss and they could not stop thinking about it ever since.
You vividly remembered that night, all you really recall was being lonely after Frido left and two hot Barca players wrapping their arms around you. Mapi and Ingrid talked you up, leaving lingering touches to have you wanting more. The details weren't all there but Mapi promised to give you a better night than what the club could offer if you left with them.
Without a thought, you did.
The next day, you walked out of the bedroom, wearing a big shirt as your only coverage. You were quite sure it belonged to Ingrid, considering it went all the way down to your thighs. You were hit with the delicious smell of morning breakfast, Ingrid pointed to a seat at the table, giving you no room to protest.
You awkwardly took a seat across from Mapi, chewing on your eggs as the defender stared straight into your eyes. She had the most aggressive smirk known to man, you forcibly ignored it. The smugness Mapi radiated was rightfully addicting.
The plan was to eat, say your thanks, and leave, no need to overdo your stay. Seems like the universe had different plans, just as you were about to finish your plate. Ingrid approached you with an ultimatum, you could stay and join their relationship or walk out the door and it'll be remembered as the best one night stand you've ever had.
Only an idiot would leave.
Breakfast was quickly forgotten and last night's activity resumed right on that table. Rounds later, you left, having to be at Frido's before she woke up and notice your absence. Ingrid and Mapi watched cockily from the door as you limped to the taxi, hickies evident all around your neck.
That one night stand turned into a year relationship, as things between you, Mapi, and Ingrid got serious so did the distance. Despite being an hour away by plane, you craved to wake up in their arms every morning and cuddle into them as the moon sets high.
After your recent visit to Spain, you made the ultimate decision to transfer clubs. The announcement shocked everyone, you broke a lot of hearts in the process but gained new ones as well.
The move was extremely hard, Bayern was your home for the last five years. You knew all the streets, from the hidden restaurants to the best local bars. Great memories were made but you wanted to make ones with Ingrid and Mapi, no matter where they were.
Your girlfriends were more than happy about your move, to them you were going to be with them all the time now. It was a dream come true.
The first few weeks of arriving in Barcelona, Frido absolutely refused to give you up. She even beat Mapi and Ingrid to the punch when she picked you up from the airport and glued herself to you the entire day. Your girlfriends got you back when the Swedish got bored seeing your face for as long as she did.
Ingrid and Mapi welcomed you to your new home with kisses, there were heart balloons and a hot dinner ready for you. The gesture was enough for you to know that you wouldn't regret this. The close proximity definitely made your relationship stronger. After living two years in Spain, Mapi finally went on one knee for you and Ingrid, popping the question in front of the sunset beach as your friends and family stood a couple feet away.
Now, your naked left hand was decorated by a beautiful diamond ring.
The wedding was small, keeping the invitations tight knit with close friends and family. Though it didn't feel small, the party animals guaranteed that. At some point, you had to tell the bartenders to stop servings the guests which they replied that your guests drank everything except the water.
A year after the wedding, you started trying for a baby. Among the three, Mapi and Ingrid thought it'd be best for you to carry. You didn't oppose, more than happy to bring a life in to the world for your wives to love.
You went through multiple rounds of IVF and each time, you got discouraged. After the nth round, you disheartenly told them, "This is our last try. If this doesn't work, no more. I can't do this anymore. My body can't handle the stress and heartbreak any further."
Your wives held you in their arms and you cried. You felt like you were failing them, it pained you everytime the pregnancy test came up negative. The last round was a success, happy tears were shed as light shined brightly in your life after a year in the dark.
When you told Mapi and Ingrid that you were pregnant, they went to extreme lengths to keep you and their unborn child safe. They didn't let you leave the house, practically bubble wrapping you when you did.
Mapi put Alexia and Alba in charge of the baby shower, well more like Alexia threatening Mapi with extra laps if the Zaragozan didn't let her do all the planning and paying. Only the best for her godchild and of course, in honor of you, Ingrid and Mapi. The sisters hung all kinds of decorations in the backyard, games and prizes were set out for the guests.
Your wives barely left your side, Mapi wanted to make sure you wouldn't trip on a rock and Ingrid couldn't keep her hands off you. So, not only did you waddle around with a baby bump, you had two clingy ducklings following behind where ever you went. You finally got a break when Alexia invited you to sit with her and her mom.
The captain shooing off the two so she can discuss more about her godchild and how she was going to spoil them rotten. Alexia couldn't wait to meet the baby, bragging to the others everyday that she was chosen to be the godmother and not them.
When Alba called everyone's attention for the revelation of the gender, Mapi and Ingrid ran to your side. You expected to cut a cake or pull party poppers, what you didn't expect was Patri and Pina running out in color coded baby costumes.
Everyone watched in laughter as the two best friends hyped up the crowd, taking the opposite position of each other. Mariona slipped out in front, wearing a ref outfit with a whistle around her neck. "Welcome to the reveal of Baby Girl or Baby Boy!"
"On the left side! We have Pina representing Baby Girl!"
"And on the right! We have Patri representing Baby Boy!"
In the back of your mind, you didn't doubt that this was Alba's doing.
"When the bell rings the fight's over! Get ready! On my count! Uno! Dos! Thres! Fight!"
Cheers filled the backyard, a few of the older ones watched speechless. The wrestling match got more intense as the crowd rooted for their respective gender. In the corner of your eye, you could see Alexia rub her temples when Patri almost threw Pina onto the nearest table. Luckily, Mariona quickly blew the whistle, separating the competitors and sent them back to their corners.
The fight came to an end after ten minutes, Pina finally pinned Patri to the ground as Mariona laid on her side. Hitting the ground twice, throwing her arms out as the bell rung signaling that the fight was over.
"One! Two! Baby Girl Wins!"
Everyone jumped in excitement, congratulating you three. Ingrid picked you up into a big hug, repeatedly kissing your cheek passing you over to Mapi when the blonde called for you.
You were having a girl.
Four month later, you gave birth to your daughter, Valisia. And she couldn't be more loved and spoiled, she had everyone wrapped around her finger especially Mapi. Ingrid had some self-control to resist your daughter's puppy eyes, key word: some.
You were really the only one with the will power to say no, your wives' defense being that Valisia had your eyes and they couldn't resist. You rolled your eyes countless of times after they used that defense everytime they gave in to Valisia's wants.
Nonetheless, you were content knowing that you daughter was going to grow up absolutely loved. Even if she was upstairs taking a nap while her aunts partied like no tomorrow below. It was Mapi's birthday and there was not an empty spot anywhere in the house. Footballers and closest friends occupied the area.
You were quite excited, not only were you able to celebrate your wife but you were also able to party like the good ol days now that you didn't have a giant baby bump stopping you.
Music blasted through Mapi's speakers, Barca girls spread all throughout, some on the dance floor, others in the kitchen or on the couch watching the self-appointed dancers.
Where were you?
Well, you were right in the middle of the party. Twerking on the dance floor aka the living room as the girls surrounding you cheered. Before meeting Ingrid and Mapi, you were notorious for your party ways. You lived to party, it was a different type of adrenaline and fun from football.
But, when you got pregnant everything came to a stop. Your fun off and on the pitched was no more for the next year, it wasn't bad per say but you did miss it. It was all you knew before your daughter, so it took some time to adjust. Despite it, you wouldn't have it any other way. While the pitch or party gave you a wild feel, your daughter gave you a stability you didn't know you needed.
Her, Mapi and Ingrid were the light of your life and you couldn't be more happier.
Yet, Mapi began to question that statement as she watched you take another shot. It was the Zaragozan's birthday and here she was, in the corner of her own home as she watched her baby mama drink whatever is handed to her. The scene made Mapi glad that she made sure that the party would be at home than her usual club.
The blonde refused to be separated from Valisia, one time Ingrid has to physically pull Mapi away just to get her to training. Your daughter seriously had a tight hold on her Mami and Mapi was proud of too.
Even in the safety grounds of her own home, Mapi refused Lucy's attempts to get her to take a single shot. The Zaragozan was determined to stay sober and watch over everyone as her daughter was under the same roof as these drunkies. To avoid the insisted to get her to drink, Mapi sat in the corner with Alexia, hiding away from the rest.
Mapi glared as Lucy fed you another, since the English woman couldn't get the birthday girl. She switched her tactics to you. You had stopped breastfeeding when Valisia hit her seventh month of age, so you were good enough to drink. Lucy used this to her advantage, feeding you shots after shots, ignoring the disapproving glares your wives sent her way.
You should've been blacked out wasted at this point, but the Ingrid made sure to shovel food and water down your throat even when you were mid-dance.
The Norwegian sat on the couch with Caro, being in the same boat as Mapi by swearing off drinking for the night when she realized that Mapi was going to lose her mind if the team so much as came close to waking up Valisia. She made sure to keep an eye on you while you had your fun, directly in her eyeline so loosing sight of you shouldn't be hard.
At some point, Ingrid had to drag you away again to the kitchen. Making sure you're fueled up for the next song, at least that's what you think. "Here. Drink some water." She handed you a glass, guiding you so it doesn't drip down the side of your lips. When you had enough, Ingrid set the cup aside, cupping your face in her hands. "How are you feeling, elsking?"
You smiled lazily, your vision wonky but you instantly recognized Ingrid's voice. "Good. Now, that you're here. Where's my esposa?" Ingrid chuckled, rubbing your arms as you leaned into her. "I've been here the entire time, baby. Mapi's over by the table with Alexia. Do you want to join to her?"
You shook your head, "It's okay. Maybe later." You weren't blind nor deaf, you saw Mapi declining every drink with a threat, she wasn't exactly quiet about it either. Drunk you felt guilty that you weren't doing the same, knowing that Mapi was only cautious about what goes on around Valisia.
Sober you knew better, Mapi wouldn't hold it against you. The Zaragozan knows that you missed the old times where you danced all night long with your friends, she didn't mind. You're her wife, the mother of her child, you could do no wrong. But, then again, you're drunk so you weren't thinking clearly.
Ingrid caressed your cheek with her thumb, memories of the past resurfacing. The Norwegian couldn't believe how far her little family has come, she can vividly remember the day where she and Mapi knew that you were the one. That you would be a constant presence in their life.
You were too drunk to notice Ingrid's loving gaze but Mapi wasn't. She watched you two the moment Ingrid got up from her seat and she continued to do so even as Ingrid got lost in her thoughts. You moved into Ingrid, easing into the familiar warmth her body brought.
Ingrid snapped out of her thoughts as she felt your body being pulled away. Her eyes going to an intoxicated Ona, "Come, chica! It's our song!" She yelled, tugging on your wrist to follow her back to the living room before Ingrid could process what was going on.
The Norwegian sighed, walking back over to her spot next to Frido and Caro. Mapi shook her head, taking a sip of water, the only liquid she's willing to consume tonight. Alexia smiled amusingly at the sight of her tired friend. "Worried for your baby momma?" The captain sipped on her drink to hide the growing smirk as she catches you moving your hips.
Mapi gave her a look, leaning back into the chair. "She'll be fine, Ingrid's watching over her." Alexia raised a brow, looking over her friend unimpressed. She noticed the way Mapi's eyes flickered to the stairs, and the only thing that was held dear to Mapi upstairs was her daughter.
Passing a cup filled with whatever to Mapi. "Ay, loose up. Valisia is sound asleep, she has her noise canceling headset, no? She'll sleep through the night, mi amiga. Be glad, that you got a heavy sleeper. Mami said that I woke up from my sleep and cried every single night until I was two. Two, Mapi. My Mami didn't get no rest."
Mapi just let Alexia ramble, it wasn't often the captain allowed herself to let loose. So, when she did, everyone knew just to let her be. The Zaragozan looked back to the living room, noticing Ingrid's furrowed brows. The Norwegian snapping her head in every direction, obviously looking for something or someone.
Ingrid hurridly made her way over, "Que pasa?" Mapi asked. Alexia shut her mouth, rocking side to side as she watched the couple. "Have you seen Yn? I can't find her." Ingrid asked, looking around to see if she could spot you now that her height gave her an advantage.
Mapi shook her head, you wouldn't leave the house. Despite all the alcohol in your body, you weren't dumb enough to leave the area especially with your daughter and wives in the house. Alexia pointed to the stairs, "I saw her go upstairs. She looked like she was in a hurry."
Mapi snapped her head to the blonde, wondering when Alexia saw you when she didn't. Ingrid quickly thanked Alexia and ran upstairs, Mapi not far behind. The Norwegian navigated through the dark halls going straight towards the barely lit door.
She quietly pushed the door to Valisia's room wider, careful with her actions to not spook anyone on the otherside. You were sitting in the rocking chair, Valisia in your arms. The babe clearly wide awake as she bounced on your thighs. Ingrid couldn't help but smile.
The midfielder let Mapi catch up to her before walking in, tapping the door to catch your attention. You looked up Valisia, beaming at the sight of your wives. "I was wondering where you went. Gave me a little scare if I'm being honest."
You gave Ingrid an apologetic smile, going back to Vasilia without another word. Mapi and Ingrid gathered around you, greeting Valisia with kisses as the babe babbled happily at her mothers. Mapi brushed a strand of hair out of your face, "What are you doing up here? I thought you were having fun."
"I heard her crying. It was dark when I came up here, she must've been scared." Ingrid and Mapi shared a look, they hadn't heard Valisia crying. They could barely hear themselves speak because of the loud music, but you. You heard Valisia and you ran to her the milisecond you did.
Mother Intuition really has no limitations.
You abruptly stood up, grabbing the noise canceling headphones and placed them on Valisia's head. Smiling softly when the babe touched the object on her head, "Let's go, alskling." There was no hint of wobble in your step, mother instincts seemed to be an actual thing, you learned.
Sobering up the moment you heard frantic cries coming from upstairs, your daughter's wailing hit you like a train. Your body moved on impulse, sprinting rapidly as possible to soothe her. Ingrid and Mapi followed behind as you went back down stairs, worried that you might lose you balance.
You didn't listen to them as they called you back, holding your baby tightly as you went. You were instantly crowded by your intoxicated friends when you became visible. They cooed over Valisia, who seemed to like the attention with a big gummy smile.
Eventually, everyone had a fair share of Valisia and went back to partying. You sat next to Frido, playing with Valisia as the party continued. Mapi went to Alexia and Ingrid went to the kitchen to get Valisia some snacks. The babe definitely being your daughter, waking up with an appetite after every nap.
When Ingrid came back, she found you twerking on the dance floor. Valisia rested on your side, bouncing and clapping as you got it on. The Norwegian couldn't help burst out in laughter. Alexia noticed the same time as Ingrid, pointing over to you so Mapi could follow her finger.
The Zaragozan looked at you scandalous, breathing a few laughs, unable to process that her baby mama was swaying with their daughter on her hip. The defender looked to Ingrid, to see if the Norwegian was witnessing the same thing as her. Ingrid held up her hand, reminding Mapi that she married into this and shouldn't be suprised as she was.
Alexia grabbed Mapi by the shoulders, "Go join her, dumbass! That's your wife and baby on the dance floor!" Mapi got up, stopping to grab Ingrid by the arm and take her with her. Shouts of encouragement collectively roared as the entire León-Engen family joined in on the fun.
You grinded back into Mapi as Ingrid grabbed Valisia, twirling her around. Mapi wrapped her arms around your waist, pulling you closer as she watched Ingrid and Valisia over your shoulder. "Mi pequeña familia loca."
Her crazy little family.

mapi and ingrid help you relax after a rough week.
minors dni, 18+, smut ahead.
the physical and emotional weight of your workload was dragging you down. mapi was the first to realize it, and once she did, the first person she went to was ingrid. ingrid had a way of relaxing you that mapi knew she couldn't pull off. the woman had a tendency of being a little too energetic for that. however, it seemed that this time, ingrid couldn't really help you either.
they both hated it, but mapi and ingrid had no choice but to wait for all of you to be on a break to bring it up. a lot of things had been happening at barcelona, so you were very busy as social media director. your promotion had seemed like a blessing at first, especially since it meant that you could travel with your girlfriends everywhere that they went. however, all of that travel really cut into the time you had to organize everything else.
"i miss her," mapi sighed as she watched you fast asleep on the couch. it was obvious that you hadn't meant to fall asleep like that with your laptop and several notebooks open. you had been working, despite ingrid and mapi's insistence that you come with them out for the day. they had tried to have a good time, but mapi couldn't knowing that you were still in the apartment.
"it's been hard, especially on her. i mean, look at her," ingrid said as she nodded towards you. mapi let out a little whine as she looked at you. even in your sleep, the stress of your job was evident. they knew that this was temporary, mapi remembered when she first signed to barcelona years ago when you initially had been brought in as an intern. you always had a bit of a struggle starting out, but eventually, you'd find your footing.
"i could cry," mapi muttered quietly. ingrid had just barely heard her. if it was anybody other than you, ingrid would have been deleriously jealous of the way that mapi loved and cared for you. she knew that while mapi had been dating her for longer, you had been in her life longer. you were one of mapi's best friends first, and so, ingrid knew what to expect.
"we can let her sleep, and then do something special for her tonight," ingrid suggested. mapi nodded as she let ingrid pull her away from the living room. you slept the entire day away, waking up only when mapi physically picked you up and carried you into the dining room. you were still very tired as you ate, but the food did a lot to energize you a bit.
"what's the occasion?" you asked, not missing the way that both of your girlfriends were dressed up a bit more. mapi shrugged the question off as she tried to pretend that everything was normal. ingrid, however, was more than happy to give a reason for the little show.
"we are celebrating you, and all of the hard work you've been doing lately," ingrid said softly. she got up to carry your plate into the kitchen for you, kissing the top of your head as well as mapi's as she passed.
"i'm sorry if i haven't been very attentive," you apologized. mapi shook her head as she took your hands in hers. "i've been busy, and i know that you hate being left to your own devices. you need me too, not just the club."
"it's okay, i understand, i do. tonight, don't think about any of that. let ingrid and me take care of you, please bebita." if it wasn't for the way that mapi as looking at you, you might have gone back to your work for the night. "you've been working so hard."
"i'm so tired of it," you admitted. you sounded like you were on the verge of tears, so mapi did what she knew would help you calm down. she dropped your hands to grab your cheeks, pulling you in gently for a kiss. you kissed her back, moaning into it as you felt her deepen it. you sat forward in your seat, like you were prepared to crawl into her lap at any moment. the two of you could have kept going forever like that until ingrid interrupted you.
"come on, let's move this to the bedroom." ingrid guided the two of you away from the table. you broke the kiss with mapi once you were in ingrid's arms, turning your attention to her instead. ingrid picked you up and carried you into the bedroom, walking strong despite the kisses you were pressing to her neck. mapi followed behind ingrid, taking the opportunity to feel her up on the short walk to the bedroom.
ingrid laid you down on the bed gently, and mapi moved around her to get behind you. almost immediately, you could tell how the night would go. it was rare that they both focused solely on you, but you were grateful for the distraction. it wouldn't last forever, but they'd be taking a good amount of the weight of your work off from your shoulders from the night.
mapi's hands settled on your hips, squeezing gently as she peppered the side of your face in kisses. ingrid was laying between your legs, effectively pinning you against mapi's body as the two of them kissed you. it was a lot, but you were more than happy to just go along with whatever they wanted.
you trusted both women with your body completely. they knew the things that you liked, and sometimes, you swore they knew what you needed before you did. on your own, you would have tried to rush things, but they were taking things so slow with you. even mapi, who had a tendency to get a little ahead of herself in these situations.
they took their time undressing you and themselves. the feeling of their skin against yours made it hard for you to think. mapi could tell that you were having a hard time keeping up, so she backed away just enough for you to focus on ingrid. the taller woman kissed you slowly, but it wasn't without an almost overwhelming amount of emotion.
you didn't know how she did it, but ingrid always kissed you with her entire being. from every little peck as she left the apartment to the way she'd completely take your breath away. you swore that you could feel the love and concern ingrid had for you as she kissed you. it was enough for you to get a little lost in the feeling of her lips, but still gentle enough for you to easily slip away if you needed it. ingrid wouldn't judge you, knowing that occasionally you weren't up for this sort of thing when you were stressed.
"you look so pretty kissing ingrid," mapi whispered in your ear. she turned towards ingrid before she spoke up again, "you're taking such good care of our bebita, ingrid."
"i want more, please," you told them. mapi took that as her cue to come back a little more. her hands moved along your sides until you moved them onto your breasts. mapi's fingers teased your nipples as your hips ground against ingrid's thigh. ingrid bit her lip as she felt how wet you already were from just kissing them. it was going to be easy to get you to cum for the first time, and while ingrid wanted to spend all night between your legs, she wouldn't push you any further than what you could handle.
"do you want my fingers or my mouth, bebita?" ingrid asked you. she was usually adamant about not speaking spanish in the house, but that pet name had always stuck. technically, mapi had been calling you her bebita long before either of you had figured out your feelings for each other. ingrid remembered her hesitation about seeing mapi because of you, and in hindsight, she felt a little ridiculous about it now.
"mouth please," you answered. ingrid gave you one last kiss before she moved down to lay in between your legs. mapi turned your head towards her, pulling you into a gentle kiss as ingrid's hands came up to rest on the insides of your thighs.
unlike ingrid's kisses, mapi's rarely ever managed to stay as gentle as they started. the press of mapi's lips against yours quickly turned into something much firmer, not that you minded. you nipped at mapi's lip a little, which earned you a slightly rougher pinch to your nipple than before.
"mapi," ingrid warned. mapi's cheeks heated up at the warning. you bit your lip as she moved around your body to press a kiss to where she had just pinched you. ingrid watched as your hips bucked forward at the contact. she shot mapi a look, one urging for the tattooed woman to stay there until you pulled her back for more kisses.
"do you want this bebita?" mapi asked you. you could still feel enough of mapi's body behind you to feel safe and comfortable, but that need was quickly being replaced by the feel to feel both of their mouths on your body.
"please," you whined. mapi didn't need to be told twice, and she mvoed back in with her mouth at the same time as ingrid. mapi peppered your breasts with kisses as her fingers teased your nipples. ingrid's tongue was making lazy figure 8 motions in between your legs, just barely grazing along where you wanted her to. the two of them worked together well, almost perfectly in sync despite not having had to talk one another through anything.
"shh," mapi cooed softly as she lifted her head a little. the noises you were making quickly began to jumble together. you were whining and whimpering as you started to move more. ingrid didn't want to grab your hips and pin you down, so mapi took it upon herself to kiss you to calm you down. your nails scratched against the side of her face a little, but mapi didn't let it distract her from swallowing up every moan and whimper that threatened to escape from your lips. "you're doing so good, it's okay. let ingrid do her thing."
"fuck, fuck, fuck," you repeated again and again. mapi felt your body tense on top of hers, and that was when she knew you were gone. as loud as you could be while being fucked, you always went dead silent when you came. ingrid began to back away, stopping only when she heard you and mapi talking to each other. the little confessions of love after sex were secrectly mapi's favorite. if she was ever asked, you knew that she'd say something cocky about the way you looked cumming on her fingers or strap, but truthfully, she loved the way you curled into her as the two of you showered each other in love and adoration.
"rest now," ingrid said as she took the spot next to you on the bed. mapi slipped away to get something to clean you up with as you and ingrid lazily made out on the bed. you were so tired, enough so that you were ready to fall asleep right there in her arms. ingrid kept you awake and distracted enough for mapi to clean you up and pick out some clothes for all of you to wear to bed.
"thank you, i think i needed this," you mumbled against ingrid's chest. this time, ingrid laid in between you and mapi, both of you with your head resting against ingrid's chest. ingrid had one hand on mapi's back and the other in your hair, both of them scratching lightly. "i love you, both of you."
"we love you too," mapi told you. she reached over and twirled a strand of your hair around her finger.
"whenever you need us, don't hesitate to ask," ingrid said. you glanced up at her and smiled. you couldn't help it, there was rarely ever a time you could remember not smiling when you saw ingrid. "we'll always be here to take care of you, in whatever ways you need."

Fear of Failure (Alessia Russo x reader)
Tumblr media
A/N: An Alessia Russo fic after I go see Arsenal is becoming a thing.
You had felt like a failure after losing the World Cup Final. It was you job as captain to lead and as a striker to score. When the 90 minutes were over you felt like you did neither.
The pain you felt was tough but it failed in comparison to what you felt when you saw Alessia crying. If possible, her eyes were a brighter shade of blue due to the tears she had shed.
“Come on. Let’s go in” Alessia tried to take your hand but you pulled away.
“I’m going to stay out here. I can’t face them” you walk away leaving Alessia stood alone until Ella comes.
Your relationship was Alessia was very new even though the feelings you had for each other were anything but. It was the first time she had seen you like this and she didn’t know what to do.
The lockeroom is quiet but goes silent as you walk in. You ignore the eyes on you as you head into the ice bath where Lucy is waiting for you.
“What should I do?” Alessia asks Lotte knowing that the defender has experience with you at a club level.
“Give her time. She’ll come to you when she’s ready” it was wise advice and Alessia listened to it.
You came to her when she was on the coach. She left the seat free next to her and you happily slid in. You didn’t say anything but you didn’t pull away when Alessia held you hand. She saw that as a good sign.
She thought that once you were back in England and at Arsenal that you might have cheered up but that wasn’t the case. You were focused on the champions league qualifiers. So much so that you were working yourself into the ground.
The whole team knew it was a cruel form of punishment for the summer so they told Jonas who promised to keep an eye on you.
The first game comes 17 days after the final. You had missed a penalty in the first half but you were relentless after that. Arsenal get the win yet you cannot bring yourself to celebrate. This is what you expected when you play a team like Linköping. You did however make the extra effort to celebrate your girlfriend’s debut.
“Girls” you stand up gaining the attention of the entire team “to Alessia who is now officially a member of the Arsenal”
“I think that’s the first time I’ve seen her smile since Australia” Lotte nudges the woman in question.
“It is and even now I don’t think it’s real” Alessia was really begin to worry about you. Everyone you normally talk to isn’t here. Leah, Beth and Viv will meet the team in Germany. Your girlfriend is hoping that once you’re around them then something will change.
When you line up against Paris FC you expect the same result but you find yourself two nil down until the final ten minutes. Alessia gets a goal and hopes you celebrate with her but by the time she finds you, you have the ball in your hand and are running back to the spot. Your determination is rewarded as you score in injury time. Paris then take a lead but you manage to get one back and the game is sent to penalties.
It ends with Arsenal losing and you are quick to blame yourself for the loss. It feels like yet another reason why you are a failure.
“Hey” Alessia tries to get your attention as you walk down the tunnel but she gets not response. She doesn’t give up though “Y/N” her voice is a slightly more serious tone.
“Less, please, I can’t” you cannot meet her eyes.
“Can’t what? Talk to me.” The blonde asks. You were never one to hide from her. Maybe other people but you were always open with her.
“No”
The whole locker room goes silent. A moment that seemed to be private was being held out in the open.
“Why?”
“Because I don’t want to!” She didn’t deserve you to snap at her “I cannot have you look at me like I’m broken”
“Y/N, you are—“
“Not good enough, I need to be better. Please leave me alone so I can be better”
The next couple of days you were worryingly quiet. You may have spoken to Alessia but you didn’t really say much.
When you landed in Germany you pulled Jonas aside. He told you that you would be rooming with Alessia for the duration of the trip and that it would be a trial for future away games.
“I need you to split me and Alessia up” you told your coach.
“Y/N, I have no issue with your relationship with Alessia. You told me as soon as you knew she was joining the club and I trust you to be professional”
“I don’t mean our relationship, god no. I mean I cannot share a room with her. Jonas I am struggling right now and I cannot put that on her”
“Ok. If that is what you think is best then I’ll put you with Lia”
“Thanks coach”
It was hard for Alessia to see you pull away from her but you did. She noticed that you spent more time with the injured players than you did her. The only person she felt comfortable talking to about this was Lotte as she knew her well and Lotte knew you.
“I don’t get what I did wrong. I know she is struggling and I want to be there for her but she won’t talk to me, not about that anyways”
“She loves you Alessia, anybody with a set of eyes can see that, and you know that she isn’t good about asking for help”
“She’s talking to Leah and Beth though. Why is she ok talking to them but not to me?”
“She isn’t talk to them, she is talking with Viv or at least that is what i’m guessing. Viv is the person Y/N goes to when she doesn’t know what she is feeling. Once she figures that out then she will come to you”
Lotte saw you do the exact same thing when you lost the Champions League semi final. It took you a few days to come to terms with what happened and even then you still blamed yourself.
“I hope so Lotte because I can’t stand to see her hurting and knowing that I can’t do anything to help her”
Meanwhile you were in your therapy session with Viv in one of the quiet areas, or at least that is what it felt like. The Dutch woman was patient with you and listened when you needed to talk. She didn’t ask questions unless you asked her one.
“I failed everyone Viv. First England and now Arsenal. That hurts enough but to know that I have failed the person I love most in the world, that is not something I can handle. I feel like I’m on the verge of breaking and she shouldn’t have to deal with that”
“Have you stopped to think maybe she wants to? I know you struggle with these kind of things but this is the first time you are going though it whilst having a girlfriend. You need to stop seeing her as a team mate because she is so much more than that now”
You hated how right Viv was. You have opened up to Alessia before and she didn’t love you any less when you showed your vulnerable side.
Your girlfriend had accepted that you would come to her when you were ready and now she just wanted to be with you. Only problem is that she couldn’t find you. She had asked every player and staff member yet none of them could give her the answer she was looking for. Then she saw Viv leave one of the physio rooms and between the crack of the door and the door frame she saw you.
For the first time in a long while you looked into her eyes and let her see the pain behind yours. You watch as she hesitated on the other side of the threshold.
“Come here”
Alessia all but ran you to you. Whilst you stayed seated on the physio table, she took a stand between your legs. With her arms wrapped around your neck, her fingers begin playing with the baby hairs at the nape of your neck.
“I’m struggling Lessi. I felt like a failure after Australia and I thought I would be able to redeem myself this season at Arsenal but I’ve failed again”
“Thank you for telling me”
When she leans down you don’t pull away. You feel your shoulder relax as her lips touch yours.
“You’re not a failure. You lead the lionesses to their first World Cup final and I think that is an amazing achievement”
How could you believe her? She was your girlfriend, never would she admit you let her down.
“I failed you. I wanted to win for so many reasons but you were one of my biggest motivations, you always are. I wanted to win so that I could see the smile on your face as you lift the trophy like you did at the euros. Instead I watched you cry”
“You know one of the things that annoys me the most about you?” Alessia asks and you feel your stomach drop “you are one of the biggest hypocrites I know”
“I am not” you defend yourself and rightly so.
“You are when it comes to football. It’s both a good thing and a bad thing. You always say how we are a team, win or lose we do it as a team. After we played Australia in Brentford, Leah blamed herself. You told her that a loss is not one persons fault”
“It’s not”
“Baby, do you hear yourself?”
You did hear yourself and you realise what your girlfriend was insinuating.
“I just wanted to do good”
“You did. You did so good. Right now though we have to process what happened and move on” Alessia knew that you would talk about your failures all night and maybe that’s what you needed. She also knew that you needed to find closure before it destroyed you.
“And how do we do that?”
“Together” you laugh at her cheesiness “I mean it. I knew I’d learn things at Arsenal but I didn’t think the first one would be that my girlfriend doesn’t come to me when she’s hurting”
“I’m sorry. It’s hard for me to open up to people. I don’t like people seeing me weak, definetley not you”
At first thought that hurt Alessia and she is about to tell you that much but you cut her off.
“I am going to try though. I don’t want to shut you out anymore. For the last couple of days I’ve missed being with you and I don’t want to feel that again. I can’t promise that I will tell you everything, not right now, but I will let you in Less”
This seemed to be enough for your girlfriend because she pulls you up so she can give you a proper hug.
“I’m here and you won’t push me away again. I won’t let you” Alessia’s voice was adamant and you never argue with the blonde when she used that tone.
“I love you Alessia. Do you think we could go away somewhere just the two of us? We have a couple of days off when we get home and I need some time away from football. I’m in desperate needs of some quality Alessia Russo time”
“You know what? Now that I think of it, I am long over due some one on one time with you. How about we go get some food then you can come my room, the room you will be moving into, and we can look at some places?”
You agree with the forward and take her hand as you leave the room. When the two of you walk through the campus restaurant everyone notices the closeness between you and how your hands are intertwined. They also saw a smile of both of your faces, a smile that they were yet to see in Germany.

all of my past i tried to erase it
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
part 3 of family line tensions are still high between Ingrid and her sister. Mapi tries to keep the peace. Solstråle tries to pretend she's fine. Ingrid tries to pretend she isn't going insane not understanding what is going on. cw: mentions of poor mental health / panic attacks. ingrid is pretty worried about solstråle and whether or not she is safe.
-------
It wasn’t really anyone’s fault. Mapi bringing her parents to the match shouldn’t have gotten to you the way it did. You didn’t really have an explanation for it, either. You saw Ingrid talking to Mapi’s mom and it felt like everything that had gotten marginally better in the last few days had miraculously disappeared.
You were 8 again, sitting in the office at school, fielding pitying looks from the office ladies. Both of your parents were busy watching one of Ingrid’s matches; at just 16, she was playing for Rosenborg. Your mom was supposed to bring you to watch, too. She’d forgotten.
You were 10 again, lying to the school nurse that your parents hadn’t known you’d hurt your hand. She said it looked broken, and you pretended that you hadn’t asked your mom to take you to the doctor the night before. You pretended your mom hadn’t told you to stop faking injuries when the attention wasn’t on you for one minute.
You were 13 again, sobbing into your pillow, while everyone celebrated just down the hall. Ingrid was leaving to play in Lillestrøm. 5 hours away. She was leaving you behind.
You were 16, having just been dumped by your first girlfriend. You’d come home in tears, and when you told your dad what was wrong, he told you it was for the best, that a girlfriend was just a distraction. He warned you not to bother your sister with this, because she was busy with much more important things in Barcelona.
You were 17, so drunk you could barely speak, walking home on a dark road in the middle of the night because neither of your parents had answered the phone to come and get you from the horrific party you already regretted attending. It was dark, a windy road you were walking along, and if a car came, you weren’t sure your reflexes would be quick enough. You were 17, stumbling over the smooth pavement, the depression you’d been trying to drown in alcohol making a reappearance. You were 17,  thinking that maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if it all ended there, just like this.
You were 17, standing in the airport with your parents, preparing to board the plane to Spain. You leaned in towards your mother for a hug. She avoided it, pinching your cheek lightly, and reminding your father that they had a dinner reservation to get to. You watched them walk out of the airport from your place in the security line. Your vision was blurred with tears, but you still could tell that they didn’t look back at you once. You were 17, and your mom hadn’t told you she loved you before you moved across the continent.
In a second, all of these memories that you’d fought so hard to keep locked away deep inside your head were flooding out. Tears were pricking your eyes, and you cursed yourself for being so stupid. Ingrid didn’t care. Mapi didn’t care. You weren’t worth caring about. How had you forgotten that? How had you let yourself forget that, after everything?
Ingrid didn’t see your expression change, too busy thanking Mapi’s parents profusely for coming to see her play. Mapi did, though. She watched as you caught sight of your sister talking to her mom, and she watched as you flinched like someone had swung at you.  She watched as you slipped out of the crowd, speed walking into the building. Mapi was torn in 2 directions, Ingrid on one side, and you running off the other way. You needed Ingrid, most definitely but Mapi didn’t like the look on your face as you ran off, like all of the emotion had been sucked out of you, and all that was left was exhaustion.
Someone else had noticed your disappearing act, though. Caro stood, staring after you, before her gaze fell to Mapi, raising an eyebrow. The defender nodded, and Caro followed after you, while Mapi turned to her girlfriend. She pulled her away from her parents with an apologetic smile, appreciating that Alexia walked over and picked up the conversation where it had left off.
“Ingrid, vamos,” Mapi whispered urgently. Ingrid looked at her, confused and unmoving.
“What? I was in the middle of a conversation, María,” the Norwegian scolded.
“I know, it’s your Solstråle, though, she’s upset, come on,” Mapi insisted, pulling on Ingrid’s hand, who finally seemed to feel a sense of urgency, and let Mapi lead her into the building.
“Upset? Why? Did something happen?”
“She saw you with my mom and just looked really upset.” Mapi explained. A bit of understanding washed over Ingrid’s face, and now she was the one leading her girlfriend, rushing down the hall and beginning to open door after door in search of you.
Caro, meanwhile, had found you pretty easily. You were on the floor of a room she often came to when she was overwhelmed, although that happened much less these days. You knew Caro, obviously, and she knew you, had known you since you were pretty young. She had a calming presence, and the minute she sat next to you, and extended her hand in your direction, you took it gratefully.
“Mapi is bringing Ingrid.” She told you, but didn’t say anything else. She just sat next to your trembling form and held your hand.  It was enough for now, enough until your sister arrived.
And when Ingrid did arrive, it was with a loud bang as she threw the door open, sighing in relief at the sight of you. Though, that relief quickly dissolved back into worry at the state you were in. She quickly took Caro’s place at your side, hesitantly wrapping an arm around your shoulders. Your sister was surprised when you turned and threw your arms around her neck, crying silently into her shirt.
“Jeg har deg, kjære. Det er greit, du er ok.” She murmured, looking worriedly at the other two women hovering in the doorway of the room. Mapi nodded at her encouragingly, and Ingrid refocused, rubbing a hand slowly up and down your back.
“Thank you,” Mapi muttered to Caro, as they both stepped into the hall to give you some space.
“Of course.” Caro said easily. “She having a hard time?”
“Which one?” Mapi asked wryly. “Yes. It’s… it’s a work in progress.”
“She’s a good kid.” Caro noted, Mapi nodding her head in agreement. “Well, Marta and I are around if either of you need anything.”
“Thank you, Caro. Really.” Mapi said, squeezing the forward’s shoulder. Caro just shrugged like it was no big deal, and headed back out to the pitch. When Mapi reentered the room, you were tucked perfectly into Ingrid’s lap, although you seemed to have calmed down some. Ingrid was speaking to you in hushed Norwegian, and something she said had you lurching away from her and to your feet, stumbling blindly to the door.
“Solstråle, wait,” Ingrid called, not really sure what she said to upset you, but well aware that it had been something. You fell right into Mapi’s arms, and though she looked a little startled, she easily pulled you close.
“Okay, it’s alright. We’re all okay.” She murmured, noticing the rather heartbroken expression on her girlfriend’s face at the fact that you had fled from her right into Mapi’s arms. After a few minutes, you said something quietly that neither girl could hear. “What was that, nena?”
“Can we go ho- back to the house?” You asked, correcting yourself quickly, and pulling away from the comforting embrace Mapi had you in. Ingrid felt like you’d stabbed her, honestly, when you didn’t let yourself call it home. You were stoic again, though, your face void of emotion, wiping roughly at your cheeks to rid them of tears.
“Kjære,” Ingrid said, hating the way you forced all evidence of your breakdown away. You’d been so upset, about something, but now you were acting as though nothing had happened. Your sister would have climbed into your brain if she could’ve, just to understand what was going on in there.
“Let’s go home.” Mapi said easily, shooting her girlfriend a meaningful look. Ingrid wasn’t supposed to push you, she knew that. It was just getting harder and harder to not do so, especially when she could see how much pain you were in. She couldn't understand why you wouldn’t just talk to her, and you couldn’t understand why she was so concerned or why she was so desperate to hear what you were feeling. And considering it was the two of you, the situation was bound to blow up into an argument. It was just a matter of time.
-------
Ingrid knew what was coming before her phone rang, but she still desperately wanted to avoid it. She was quite comfortable at the moment, curled up on top of Mapi in their bed, a show playing softly in the background. Mapi was scratching lightly at Ingrid’s scalp with one hand, and tracing lines over her back with the other. The movements made Ingrid’s entire body relax, which had definitely been Mapi’s goal, but it was all interrupted when her phone went off from next to her.
She sat up off her girlfriend, glancing at the screen, her expression hardening.
“Your mom?” Mapi guessed, pulling Ingrid back down into her when the Norwegian declined the call.
“Yes.”
“You haven’t talked to her since Solstråle’s letter, have you?”
“No.” Ingrid said. “I think I hate her right now.”
Mapi was surprised, only because Ingrid didn’t hate anyone. If there was going to be a person, though, it would be someone who had hurt you. Because Ingrid didn’t like to kill spiders she found in the house, but Mapi knew she would kill a person for you without a second thought. “That’s okay. You can hate her.”
“I miss her.” Ingrid admitted after another minute, her voice cracking. Her forehead was scrunched with sadness, and her hands gripped Mapi’s shirt tight in her hands.
Mapi sighed, wishing she could take Ingrid’s pain away. And yours too, for that matter. “You can miss her too. You can feel whatever you need to feel.”
“No, I can’t, not when Solstråle is so upset,”
“How your sister feels does not limit how you feel. You can be hurt, and sad, and frustrated too. It doesn’t take away from pequeña’s feelings. Just like her feelings don’t take away from yours. You are both upset. That’s alright.” Mapi said confidently. “This isn’t just happening to your sister. It’s happening to you, too, and you can be sad, mi amor. You can cry.”
Ingrid hadn’t even known she’d been about to cry until Mapi said that, but suddenly there were tears running down her face, and she was clutching tightly to the Spaniard underneath her, who did not seem surprised at all at the sudden emotion.
“I know, baby.” Mapi husked, pressing kiss after kiss to the top of Ingrid’s head. She knew Ingrid needed this, and was content to let her cry it out until she heard a sharp breath from the doorway. You were standing just outside the room, frozen and horrified.
“I’m sorry, Ing,” you mumbled, having come in to say goodnight, rather stunned to see your sister so distraught.
Ingrid could only cry harder, now furious with herself for letting you see this, but too upset to do anything but squeeze Mapi’s hand, wordlessly begging for her to do something.
“Ven aqui, nena, it’s alright.” Mapi said, gesturing you over to the bed. You looked skeptical, but you did so anyway, carefully sitting on the bed next to your sister.
“I’m really sorry, Ingrid, I don’t mean to stress you out.” You whispered. You were in a guilty mood, it seemed, not an angry one, and Ingrid felt that somehow, she preferred when you were angry to this.
“Don’t apologize, pequeña. You haven’t done anything wrong. Ingrid is upset, and you’re upset. It’s okay to be upset, and it’s okay to cry.” Sometimes, Mapi felt like she was teaching preschoolers how to identify and express their emotions when she talked to the both of you, though that might be an easier task.
“I’m not upset with you, Solstråle, I am upset with mom, and I am upset with myself. You don’t need to say sorry. Not for having a panic attack, for having a hard time, for any of it.” Ingrid managed then, taking your hand in hers.
“I’m doing my best.” You said. “I know I’m not making it easy, but I promise I’m trying.”
“We know you are. You’re doing so well, nena.” Mapi said enthusiastically, with so much excitement at you saying something remotely positive about yourself that you and Ingrid both cracked smiles.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Ingrid asked after a minute. At that, you withdrew, pulling your hand from Ingrid’s and rising from the bed. Both your sister and her girlfriend repressed sighs at your sudden withdrawal.
“No, I’m really tired. I came to say goodnight. I’ll see you guys in the morning.” You rushed out, before bolting out of the room at a speed that could barely be considered a walk.
Ingrid sighed once you were out of earshot, settling back into Mapi. “She’s so difficult.”
“She’s stubborn. Like her sister. She’ll come around, just give her time.” Mapi assured her.
Giving you time, though, was a lot harder than it seemed.
-------
Your whole life, you had been encouraged by your parents to be smaller, to take up less space. If you were upset, you should keep it to yourself. If you were angry, you should calm down. You were taught that your needs always came second to everyone else’s. You didn’t like to be vulnerable with people, and you didn’t like to put your emotions on others.
So when you woke up the next day, it was the feeling of intense shame swirling around inside of you. You’d ruined what was an impressive win for your sister, and a nice moment with Mapi’s parents. You’d upset Ingrid, so much so that she had cried about it.
Too much. You were being too much.
You resolved yourself to be happy today. If not happy, content. Mapi and Ingrid probably needed a day off from your ridiculous, all over the place, emotions. So today, you wouldn’t feel. You’d be perfect, you’d be small, and you’d cause as little trouble as possible.
What you didn’t expect, though, was for that to be the opposite of what Mapi and Ingrid wanted from you. They didn’t care if you took up space. They just wanted you to talk. More than anything, they just wanted you to be okay, no matter how inconvenient that process was for them.
It was a day off for both girls, due to the match the day before, and they were able to let you sleep in. Ingrid was worried you were sleeping too much, but Mapi assured her that angsty teens always needed a lot of sleep, and depressed teens going through a rough time needed even more sleep. Pair that with the intense panic attack you’d had the day before, you were bound to be exhausted.
When noon rolled around, though, and you’d yet to make an appearance, Mapi relented, much to Ingrid’s relief, who had half a mind to check you for a pulse. Mapi made a coffee to bring up to you, opening your door quietly to find you out cold under the covers.
With Snø clutched tightly in your arms, your nose pressed against the soft polar bear, you looked so young.
“Pequeña, despierta,” Mapi murmured, sitting on the edge of your bed and pulling the covers away from your face a bit.
You blinked up at her groggily, an adorably sleepy expression on your face, and Mapi couldn’t help but push some hair out of your face and smile down at you. You looked slightly suspicious, as you couldn’t remember being woken up like this in the entire time living in Spain, but Mapi just handed you your coffee, and settled on the edge of your bed.
“Morning,” you said after a minute and a rather large sip of coffee.
“Afternoon.” Mapi corrected, a little confused when your face turned red at the comment. “It’s 12:15.”
“That’s weird. Normally Ingrid comes to make sure I’m breathing if I sleep past 10.” You noted.
Mapi chuckled. “We’re working on some of your sister’s annoying habits.”
“Don’t get rid of too many, or there won’t be anything left.” You said, your lips tugging up into a smirk.
“Okay! I will just go through this chocolate croissant I made for you in the garbage!” Ingrid scoffed from the doorway, turning on her heel and marching back down the stairs.
If there was any surefire way to get you out of bed, it was to present you with a breakfast pastry.
Within 90 seconds, you had kicked Mapi out, thrown some clothes on and bounded down the stairs, in search of the promised croissant. It was sitting on a plate at the counter, waiting for you, next to your sister who was glaring at you slightly.
“Thank you, Ing,” you said sweetly, throwing her a charming smile. She rolled her eyes but smiled nonetheless.
You hit Mapi’s hand playfully when she reached for your croissant, and she withdrew it with a laugh. “You’re like breakfast pastries the way Ingrid is about coffee.”
“Reasonable? Reasonably attached to it? Is that what you mean, María?” Ingrid asked with a frown.
“Of course, mi amor.” Mapi said with a smile, kissing Ingrid’s cheek softly. You averted your eyes, but you couldn’t lie and say that it didn’t make you happy to see your sister loved so well.
The morning, or afternoon, was going exactly as you’d hoped. No attempts at conversation. No feelings. Of course, it couldn’t last. Once you’d finished eating, Ingrid perked up and seemed to prepare herself for what she was about to say, which instantly made you weary.
“We should talk about last night, kjære.” Ingrid said calmly.
You froze, slowly putting your mug back on the counter. Both other girls watched the way your whole body tense, the way every ounce of emotion was wiped off your face.
“I’m fine. There’s nothing to talk about.” You said stiffly.
“That is not true. Something upset you, and we should discuss it.” Ingrid argued.
“Ingrid, it’s fine. Just leave it. We don’t need to talk about that. We don’t need to talk about anything.” You replied defensively.
“It’s not fine!” Ingrid said, raising her voice, and shaking off Mapi’s gestures to calm down. “None of this is fine. We need to talk about last night. We need to talk about the letter you wrote. We need to get you in therapy. These are all things that need to happen, solstråle. We’ve given you time, now we need to do this.”
“I am not going to therapy.” You declared, standing up with a scoff and crossing your arms across your chest. “Ingrid, I am fine. I don’t need to talk and I don’t need help.”
Ingrid grew visibly more angry with you at that, throwing her arms up in the air in frustration.
“Amor, take a breath.” Mapi said quietly, sighing to herself when Ingrid did not do so.
“You don’t need help? That is the most untrue thing I have ever heard. You do not write the things that you wrote and then turn around and say you’re fine. You. Need. Help.”
“Ingrid. I am not going to therapy, and I am done talking about this.” You said, your voice dangerously quiet.
Your sister wasn’t phased, stepping closer to you with her eyes narrowed. “You will go to therapy if I say you will, and this conversation is not over until I say it is.”
In retrospect, even Ingrid realized that this was decidedly the wrong thing to say. You didn’t take well to being told what to do. Your reaction really should have been worse; Ingrid had gotten off easy.
“Jesus, Ingrid, do you hear yourself? You sound just like mom.” You spit back, feeling a bit of satisfaction at the hurt that flashed across your sister’s face. “I don’t want to talk about this, especially not with you.” You spun around and began stomping towards the stairs. “Don’t fucking follow me.” You warned over your shoulder, causing Ingrid’s jaw to drop.
“Do not-” Ingrid began, starting after you.
“Amor, leave her.” Mapi said, intervening before Ingrid got very far, and pulling her back.
“She is the most frustrating person on the planet.” Ingrid huffed, slamming a hand down onto the counter. Mapi looked unimpressed.
“She is probably thinking the same thing about you right now. I told you not to push her.”
Ingrid rolled her eyes. “Could you be on my side here for once?” She asked bitingly.
Mapi very calmly shook her head, opening her mouth to explain when Ingrid’s eyebrows flew up on her forehead. “No. I am on your sister’s side, and you should be too. No one has been for a really long time.”
The Norwegian deflated at that, sinking down into one of the stools at the counter. Mapi continued speaking, pulling Ingrid’s hair gently out of the bun it was in, and running her fingers through it. “You’re looking at this wrong, mi amor. She doesn’t need you to talk her into therapy. She’ll get there on her own, you just need to give her time. That girl has a long way to go before she admits she needs help, believe me.”
Ingrid sighed deeply. “Can you go check on her? She’s mad at me, I just need you to make sure she’s okay and she isn’t going to do anything stupid.”
“Of course.” Mapi said, delicately kissing Ingrid’s lips. “I love you.” She reminded the Norwegian with a soft, almost shy smile.
Ingrid wanted to cry at how sweet, how perfect, how helpful and kind and funny and beautiful her girlfriend was. “I love you, so so much.”
Mapi headed for the stairs, and Ingrid made yet another cup of coffee, a coffee she wouldn’t drink.
Because Mapi came running back down the stairs a minute later, an apprehensive look on her face as she approached her girlfriend.
“Mi amor, she isn’t up there.” She said carefully.
“What do you mean she isn’t up there,” Ingrid asked, rising to her feet and feeling panic rise within her.
Mapi just shook her head, putting her hands on Ingrid’s shoulders. “She isn’t up there. Her window is open, I think she snuck out.”
Ingrid felt like something inside of her was collapsing, leaving behind a chasm that was quickly filling with anxiety. “Where… what? She… she’s gone? She…we have to-”
What had you left to do? Only horrible, life shattering options of where you were and what you were doing were flying through Ingrid’s head, and she reached out, latching on to Mapi’s outstretched hands.
“Amor, breathe. Calm down. We’ll find her. Where would she go?”
Mapi hoped, with everything in her, that Ingrid had an answer. Because she had to be calm right now, for Ingrid, but Barcelona was a big city. And if you didn’t want to be found… Mapi didn’t know what would happen.
Ingrid’s mind was racing, but one thought pushed to the front of everything else. “The lake, there’s a lake in Melhus she would always go to when she was upset. She’d go to water, a body of water.”
Mapi nodded. “Okay, there are 2 beaches in walking distance, in opposite directions. We’ll go to one, and we’ll send Frido to the other.”
Privately, Mapi hoped Frido found you first. She wasn’t quite sure that you wouldn’t bolt away from Ingrid, but you wouldn’t be expecting Frido to pop up.
-------
A quick call to Frido later, Mapi was directing one very frazzled Norwegian into the car, and setting off for the beach. Ingrid was deep in thought, and Mapi kept her hand on her girlfriend’s leg, softly and soothingly rubbing her thumb back and forth. It was only a few minutes to the beach, and Mapi knew Ingrid would talk before they arrived.
“Do you think she’d do something stupid?” Ingrid asked anxiously, her hand covering Mapi’s and gripping tightly. The Spaniard didn’t need her to explain what she meant; she knew this question was coming, really.
“She said she wouldn’t.” Mapi said calmly.
“She said she wouldn’t ‘do that to me,’ that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t do it, especially now that she’s mad at me.”
“This is a little fight. She wouldn’t… do that. Not over this.” Mapi reassured her, but Ingrid remained unconvinced.
“I don’t know what she’s thinking, María, maybe she was lying before.”
“Ingrid, mi amor, calm down. You have to trust her. Even when you’re scared, and even when it feels like you should take her bedroom door off the hinges and implant her with a GPS chip. You have to trust her not to hurt herself.”
“But what if she does?” Ingrid asked softly, as if saying the words loud enough would somehow will it into existence.
“We can’t think like that. Promise me you won’t think like that, okay?”
“Okay.” Ingrid agreed faintly. Both of them knew she was lying. It was all she’d been worrying about for days, and all she would worry about for many to come.
--------
Frido found you first. When she drove by the beach and didn't see you there, she got another idea. There was a rock climbing place nearby; Ingrid had said you always used to go to a lake back home when you were upset. Though Frido didn’t want to say so, it had been a long time since Ingrid had lived with you, and it wouldn’t have surprised her if your habits had changed. And the Swede knew from your instagram that you spent a lot of time rock climbing. She told Mapi where she was headed, and sped over to the gym.
Sure enough, as soon as she walked in the building, she spotted you in the middle of the hardest wall, seemingly only using the smallest holds to get yourself up. You were breathing hard, and the worker belaying you looked a bit concerned.
Frido pulled her phone out, shooting off a quick text to Mapi.  “She’s here, she’s okay. Let me talk to her, don’t let Ingrid come in. I’ll bring her out.”
Ingrid probably wouldn’t help the situation, if you were as angry as you seemed. The blonde spoke quickly to the front desk attendant, and headed over to where you were.
She stood, just watching you. You were a few feet from the top now, luckily for your hands, which you clearly had not put enough chalk on, and were beginning to really hurt. With only a bit to go, you took a risk, attempting an impressive, one armed pull to get your other hand to the next hold. You just barely missed, falling away from the wall.
“Fuck,” you cursed, swinging back towards the wall and smacking it with your hand. You were lowered down, clearly fuming, and Frido took the opportunity to step in front of you, giving the girl attached to the other end of the rope a look.
“Again,” you requested, avoiding Frido’s gaze.
She took your hand in hers, though, inspecting the tear in your skin, shaking her head. “No, that’s enough Solstråle.”
“Leave me alone, Frido.” You snapped, trying to pull away from her when you felt the rope fall slack. You turned, seeing that the worker had abandoned her harness in favor of going to help someone else, no doubt at Frido’s direction.
You rolled your eyes, quickly regretting it when the Swede raised an eyebrow at you. Ingrid could be scary sometimes, but she had nothing on Frido.
“Are they here?” You asked, loosening the harness and stepping out of it with an exasperated sigh.
“They’re outside. You terrified your sister.” Frido said, pulling you over to a bench and making you sit down, before handing you a bottle of water.
You looked unimpressed. “I’m 18, I can handle myself in the city for an hour.”
“She wasn’t worried about that, she was worried you were going to hurt yourself.” Frido said bluntly, sitting down next to you. She ignored how stiff you’d grown and how uncomfortable you seemed, reaching for your hand and looking at it critically.
“That wasn’t on purpose.” You said defensively, wrenching your hand away once again. “And I told her I wouldn’t do that.”
“Can you blame her for worrying, Solstråle, really? And maybe you didn’t do that on purpose, but you came here to push yourself instead of dealing with your feelings in a healthy way.”
You really hated that she was right. Frido was always right. It was simultaneously her worst and best trait.
“Are they mad?” You asked in a small voice, suddenly looking very much your age. Frido stood and held out a hand to help you up.
“Not right now. Just worried. Ingrid’s going to give you a hug and you’re going to let her.” Frido instructed. You supposed that was fair. And really, you could use a hug. Hugs from your sister always made you feel better, even if you’d never admit it.
As you exited the building, you instantly spotted your sister and her girlfriend by their car. Mapi was leaning calmly against the Cupra, while Ingrid was pacing frantically, speaking fast and gesturing wildly with her hands.
“Did I do that?” You asked quietly.
Frido laughed. “I think she was born like that.”
As you neared the car, Ingrid turned as Mapi pointed at you, her face melting with relief at the sight of you. It really hit you, then, how worried she must have been, to still be so anxious even after Frido had likely told her you were okay. You weren’t making this easy on your sister.
She practically knocked you over with the force of her hug. “You’re okay.” She murmured into the top of your head, leaving a kiss there.
“I’m okay.” You reiterated, letting yourself hug her back tightly, even if it was just for a moment. She felt you tighten your arms around her almost unconsciously, and made a note to hug you more often. Even if it seemed like you weren’t very interested. After a minute she pulled back, placing both hands on your cheeks and making you look at her.
“Next time leave through the front door? And tell me where you’re going? Please?” She asked. You appreciated that she didn’t tell you to do this, leaving it more as a request, although you knew it was a reasonable rule for her to put in place.
“Promise.” You said quietly. She nodded her head, satisfied, before pulling Frido into a hug that also looked to be too tight. Mapi was looking at you, rather unimpressed. You knew she was not happy with you for upsetting your sister so much, and though it annoyed you a bit, you knew it was deserved. And you appreciated that your sister had someone that was so protective over her.
“In the car, nena. I want to talk to you when we get home.” Mapi instructed. You got in the car with no argument, the fight having gone out of you a bit. It had nothing to do with the hug Ingrid had given you, nothing at all. Definitely not. Instead of anger, you only felt apprehension, because Mapi looked dead serious about whatever she wanted to talk about.
-------
You were nothing short of shocked when Mapi opened the door to the garage and gestured you inside upon arriving home. Ingrid watched on anxiously, and you pretended not to see the way Mapi whispered some reassurance to her and kissed her cheek, before pointing her towards the kitchen
You’d never been in the garage before; it was Mapi’s space. You were already invading her home, you wouldn’t invade the one place of the house that was really hers, too. You knew she worked something out there, knew there was a reason both cars parked in the driveway instead of in the garage.
Mapi followed you into the room and sat down on a stool next to the large motorcycle in the middle of the garage. It was clearly in the process of being restored. You hadn’t known Mapi rode motorcycles. Well, you hadn’t known that your sister let Mapi ride a motorcycle. You stood awkwardly in the door as Mapi inspected 2 different wrenches, until she pointed at the stool next to her.
“Ven aqui, nena.” She said.
You took a seat, not really enjoying the tense silence that washed over the room. “Are you mad at me?” You asked after a minute. For all your anger, and all your bravado, you didn’t like it when people were mad at you. Especially not people you looked up to, people you admired.
“No. Not mad, nena. Never mad. I wish you hadn’t snuck out your window, but I understand why you did. I wish sometimes you thought a bit more about how your actions affect me and your sister, but I know how hard that is to do when you’re as angry as you are.”
“I’m not angry.” You said defensively. Mapi rolled her eyes, handing you a couple of tools and beginning to tighten something on the bike.
“You are angry. You’re so angry that you feel like you’re going to explode sometimes. You’re so angry that sometimes you forget that you’re sad, too. You’re angry, and you’re hurt, and I cannot blame you for that. If anyone has a right to those emotions, it’s you.” You didn’t really enjoy being perceived so well, shifting uncomfortably in your seat. “I know angry, nena. Do you remember when I hurt my knee?”
You nodded. The first few weeks of Mapi's injury hadn’t been a fun time, your sister beyond stressed with dealing with Mapi’s injury and her new role in the team, and you’d tried hard to be on your best behavior.
“I started working on this bike a year ago, when everything happened with the Spanish federation. It was Ingrid’s idea, a way for me to distract myself. When I hurt my knee, it had been a bit since I’d worked on it, but suddenly I was back in this garage until all hours of the night. It’s nice to be able to control something like this, when everything else feels out of your control. That is how climbing is for you, yes?”
You relaxed a bit at the turn the conversation was taking, and Mapi wasn’t surprised. It wasn’t just the topic; it was the fact that she wasn’t staring at you, putting pressure on you to give her an answer she wanted to hear. You were just talking. Casually.
“Yeah. I’m in control, and I don’t have to think about anything else. It’s relaxing.”
“It’s good for you to have an outlet like that.” Mapi stated. “This bike was Ingrid’s idea, when we first got together. Do you know what her other idea was?”
You were pretty sure you did, and you grimaced at the thought. “Therapy?”
Mapi snorted, handing you the wrench she was using and taking the screwdriver from your hand. “Yes therapy. You don’t have to look at it like that, though, it doesn’t have to be a bad thing.”
“It’s not for me.” You said decisively.
Mapi just shrugged. “I didn’t think it was for me either.” She paused, knowing your curiosity would get the better of you, and you’d ask for more information.
“What changed your mind?” You asked after a minute.
“Your sister did. After the euros, I had a hard time coming back to Barça and playing. Those weeks were some of the hardest of my life, trying to find my rhythm again but trying to recover from the stress I’d been under that summer. I was a mess. And Ingrid was right there with me, through all of it. I’d had a really bad day, and I asked Ingrid to come home early from a lunch she had. She came home, calmed me down, and afterwards, she asked me if I trusted her. I said I did. And she said that she really wanted me to try therapy. That I didn’t have to feel how I felt, and I deserved help. I deserved to not be miserable. She asked me to try it, for her, just give it a try.”
“And you did.”
“And I did. Because she’d done so much for me, I couldn’t refuse her request. Not when I knew she just wanted the best for me. I gave it a shot, and it helped, more than anything else had helped. It wasn’t a fix all, but it helped. It made me feel like I was doing something to get better.”
Mapi abandoned her work on the bike, looking at you for the first time since you’d entered the garage. You could only see sincerity in her gaze. Not anger, but annoyance. Just sincerity. “You deserve help, Solstråle. No matter how you feel about yourself, Ingrid and I know you. And we know you deserve help. You’re a good person, and you deserve to be happy.”
María sounded so sure. So completely convinced. You looked away from her, blinking hard.
“You don’t have to agree to anything now. Keep an open mind about it. Think about it. Okay?”
“Okay.” You agreed quietly, grateful that Mapi didn’t make a big deal out of it, only nodding slightly.
“One more promise?” She asked.
“What?”
“Talk to us. Or just me, or just Ingrid. We’re a little lost here, nena. It feels like we were just kind of plopped down in the middle of this. We had no idea anything was going on, not really. And all of a sudden we’re reading that letter, and realizing we missed a lot. That’s on us; we should have noticed sooner. We don’t have the whole picture, though, and that makes it really hard for us to figure out how to help you. We’ll both worry a lot less if you talked to us, just a little bit.”
That was reasonable, you had to admit. When she put it like that. You’d spent so much time being annoyed that no one had noticed, then being annoyed when they finally did notice, you hadn’t really spent a ton of time thinking about how little they knew. There was no context to your behavior, aside from what you’d put in the letter. And that just barely scratched the surface. You supposed they deserved an explanation. At least a bit of one.
“I’ll try.” You promised.
Mapi grinned at you this time, an infectious smile. “Bueno! Come here with that wrench. No, that one. Put it on this bolt. Twist.”
And just like that, the conversation was over. Easily. You got the feeling that Mapi would have let it go if you’d insisted on it, but you miraculously felt better. Talking, listening had made you feel better. Mapi had made you feel better.
-------
You both emerged from the garage around an hour and a half later, when the smell of baking cookies became too strong to resist. Ingrid had clearly been stress baking, one of your favorite of her habits. There were at least 3 different types of cookies on the counter, some done baking, some still in progress. It smelled so distinctly of home in the house, it was almost overwhelming.
“I have something for you,” Ingrid said, drying her hands and stepping away from the counter when you walked into the room.
“I can see that.” You said, nodding to the cookies appreciatively, but Ingrid shook her head.
“No, something else.” Ingrid said.
“OH! I do too.” Mapi said excitedly, and they both disappeared in different directions. You stood bewildered in the kitchen, not quite sure what you were about to be given.
They returned simultaneously, each holding what looked to be 2 frames. “Mapi’s first.” Ingrid directed. “I haven’t seen it yet.”
You looked surprisingly at Mapi, taking the present and beginning to unwrap the wrapping paper. “What is this for?” You asked.
“Your birthday.” Ingrid said quietly. You froze momentarily, an unreadable expression flashing across your face. “I know it seems like we forgot, but we didn’t. We got the dates messed up, but we had presents, and we had dinner reservations, just… for the 25th. Not the 15th.”
“Oh. I thought you’d forgotten.” You said slowly, seemingly slightly emotional.
“Nope, just bad at remembering dates. Now open your present.” Mapi said impatiently, bouncing on her feet like an overexcited child.
You unwrapped it slowly, as if you were slightly weary of what it might be. When you pulled the frame from the wrapping paper, though, every wall you’d put up fell instantly, your jaw dropping open at the piece of art in your hands.
It was a map. Not just a map, but a map of all the hiking trails in Barcelona. It was textured, detailed, labeled. It was intricate, all neutrals and earthy colors. It was so you. From the contents to the design, it was like it had been made just for you.
“Mapi…” You whispered, staring, stunned, at the map. “Where did you… how did you… what?”
“Ale’s sister Fresa  went to school with this girl that hand makes maps like this. I got her name from diablillo, and I told her what I wanted. Do you like it, do you like it?” Mapi asked excitedly.
Mapi got her answer when you handed the frame to Ingrid, and launched yourself the few feet between you and Mapi, wrapping her in a tight hug. Mapi beamed at Ingrid, who was trying very hard not to cry. She hadn’t even given Mapi any advice on the gift. It had been all her girlfriend’s idea, she executed it all by herself, determined to get Solstråle the perfect gift.
“It’s perfect, thank you María,” you mumbled. The ridiculous smile on Mapi’s lips didn’t falter at the use of her real name, only squeezing you tighter.
“Te amo, Solstråle.” She said back. For once, you believed it. When you pulled away from the hug, it was to see Mapi looking smugly at your sister. “INGRID I DEFINITELY WON.”
Ingrid rolled her eyes. “She hasn’t even opened my present yet.”
“Still. I won.” Mapi smirked.
Now it was Ingrid’s turn to hand you your gift. It was wrapped in the same paper, and you tore it off, almost cautiously, not quite sure what Ingrid would have gotten you.
You were, once again, speechless at what you saw. This time, your eyes filled with tears immediately. Ingrid wasn’t as excited as Mapi had been, instead looking at you anxiously.
It was a painting of a waterfall back home not far from your house. It was so distinct, you knew Ingrid must have paid a ridiculous amount of money to get someone to hand paint it. Each individual stroke was so precise, blending perfectly into the image it was supposed to be, but if you focused hard, you could pick out the greens and greys and blues and whites that you’d grown up with.
It felt like home. It felt comforting. You could almost smell the trees, feel the cool sting of wind on your cheeks. It was a little piece of home just for you, and it was perfect. So beautiful and artistic that you weren’t sure you were worthy of it, but you looked at it in awe nonetheless. You wiped at your cheeks, not able to control the tidal wave of emotion washing over you.
“Kjære? Is it okay?” Ingrid asked anxiously, her eyes searching your face, trying to figure out if these were good tears or bad tears.
You let out an incredulous laugh. “Okay? Ingrid… it’s the most perfect thing I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s… perfect. Thank you.” You said, turning to her with a look of complete shock. And even though it pained Ingrid that you were so surprised to receive a nice gift for your birthday, she pushed that feeling down. Instead, she pulled you in towards her, placing the frame on the counter so she could hug you properly. You were happy with it, now, and that was all Ingrid had control over.
After a few seconds, Ingrid moved to pull away and break the hug, but you kept your arms wrapped around her, not quite ready to let go yet. Maybe it was the homesickness, or maybe it was your sister making you feel so known, and so loved. Whatever the reason, you just wanted her near you for a minute more, holding you nice and tight and safe against her.
“I love you,” she whispered, hearing you mumble the words back, your voice thick with emotion. When you did pull away, a minute later, it was to wipe at your face in an almost embarrassed manner.
Seeing how desperate you were for the attention to be off your tears, Mapi spoke up, her voice light and easy. “You can put them up in your room, you don’t have anything on the walls.”
You looked at the ground, then, almost sheepishly. “I didn’t know I could put anything up on them.” You admitted.
The room fell quiet, but even though you could tell that what you said had hurt Ingrid and Mapi, they just shook their heads softly. “It’s your room, for good, you can do whatever you want to it.” Ingrid told you.
You were about to thank her, and try to move the conversation long when Mapi let out a dramatic gasp. Both you and Ingrid whipped your heads to look at her, confused at the mischievous grin on her face.
“Ikea. WE CAN GO TO IKEA AND GET FURNITURE FOR SOLSTRÅLE’S ROOM.”
“María, calm down. Maybe she doesn’t want to redo her room.” Ingrid looked at you hopefully, and you knew it had nothing to do with your room, and everything to do with her not wanting to take Mapi to ikea.
You simply smirked back at Ingrid, who sighed and shut her eyes for a minute.
“Okay. Ikea.” She said finally. You and Mapi cheered, comically loudly, completely ignoring the rules she was setting in favor of high fiving each other and going to get ready to leave. “María, you are not building anything. Solstråle does not need her bed to collapse under her in the middle of the night. And kjære, please, please, don’t let Mapi talk you into a loft bed, you’ll fall off of it and break your arm. Amor? Kjære? ARE EITHER OF YOU LISTENING!” Ingrid shouted after you, rolling her eyes at the chants of ikea echoing around the house.
Mapi in Ikea was a handful. You, too, were a handful at the store. Together? She was going to lose one of you, she was sure of it. It had been a long day already. And it was only set to get longer.

Hi. So I got a request for a pt 2 of You Always Have An Excuse. This is a little angstier than I thought it was gonna go, but I really like it.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the final, when you had come clean about what was truly going on in your life. You hadn’t expected much to change. Why would you? You had once told a teacher, back when you were still in primary school, that your parents weren’t home much and that you hadn’t seen your mother in a few days. She had smiled and said that it was normal for parents to be working hard – it was how you could afford nice things – and she was sure you’d see your mother again soon.
When you landed back in Spain after the whirlwind of a weekend, you had pulled out your phone to order an Uber (you had decided to treat yourself rather than forcing all of your bags onto a very busy public bus and metro system) when a gentle hand came to rest on your shoulder.
“You’re on our way home; let me take you.” Ingrid smiled at you, sunglasses perched on her forehead, a very tired Mapí leaning heavily into her.
“No, it’s ok. I’ll just get an Uber,” you gestured with your phone.
“Mete tu culo en el auto.” Mapí grumbled, snatching your phone out of your hands and making her way to the car.
“Sorry, Søta, she can be a little grumpy when she’s tired. But she’s right. Go get in the car; I’ll bring your bags.” Ingrid chuckled, taking your bag from you without giving you much of a choice.
It felt nice being dropped off at your house rather than lugging your bags through the busy Barcelona streets. You waved goodbye to Ingrid and Mapí, thanking them profusely for their kindness and went inside, once again being met by a silent house.
“Mum?” you shouted out. “Dad?” You double-checked all the rooms after being met with complete silence. You checked the notepad they usually left by the kettle. They sometimes wrote notes for you, explaining where they were going and how long they were gone. Nothing. You checked the fridge—empty. You guessed they were going for a while, then.
You really wanted to just collapse on the sofa and let the events of the weekend catch up to you, but you had washing to do, and you really needed a shower. It was now that you really wanted a parent – someone to give you a massive hug, wrap you up in their warm, strong arms and kiss the top of your head, telling you how proud they were before guiding you into the bathroom as they stuck a towel in the dryer to warm up a little. But you didn't have that. Instead, you had an empty house, a mountain of sweaty clothes and an aching body. You hadn’t noticed the tears rolling steadily down your cheeks until you tasted salt.
This wasn’t you. You didn’t cry. You didn’t. You couldn’t. But after the final, you had experienced so many functional families that it truly showed you what you were missing. Alexia had brought you straight over to her Mami, where you were engulfed in one of the best hugs you’d ever received. She had kissed your forehead, telling you all about how well you had played and how you must come with Alexia for the next family meal. From there, you were passed to Ona’s family, then Keira’s, then Lucy’s. Almost every family had embraced you – squeezing you tightly as you melted into their arms. Was it a skill you developed when you became a mother that you automatically gave fantastic hugs? Maybe you were just so touch-deprived that you would relax into anyone who offered you a warm place to rest for a moment?
You were on autopilot as you went through the motions of getting ready for bed. You were methodical yet unthinking as you washed your body, hardly noticing the too-hot water and bruises littering your skin. You were going through the motions as you shoved your clothes into the wash – the dirty fabrics being shoved in without distinction. As you pulled on your pyjamas (really, it was a ratty old Manchester City shirt you had snuck from Lucy during her first season at Barça during an away match and a pair of La Masia shorts you think were Patri’s once upon a time), you longed for a hug. Something warm and comforting, but you had to settle with your bed. It was comfortable; the mattress was something you had forked out for when you received your first paycheck. The softness was something you usually welcomed – the high thread count sheets that cost you an exorbitant amount of money typically aided in your relaxation after a hard day at training. But today, they did nothing but highlight just how lonely you felt. You had been given a snippet of what you were missing, and you wanted … needed … more. The bed was too cold, the pillows were too soft, the room smelled like laundry and general cleanliness rather than comfort.
Your night was filled with tossing and turning – leaving you even more tired than when you had gone to bed. Just like last night, you were on autopilot. Turning off your alarm, having a shower, making a cup of coffee, eating a piece of toast – none of it you consciously did. You made your bed like you did every morning; you gave the house a quick once over – triple checking your parents hadn’t come home in the night; you sat down at the table, pulling out a piece of paper to make a grocery list when you heard a knock on the front door. You considered ignoring it – you weren’t expecting anyone. But it wasn’t going away. The banging got louder and more insistent the longer you left it.
“Sí, puedo ayudarte?” You said monotonously as you yanked the door out of your way.
“Cariño?” Alexia asked, concern seeping into her voice.
“Ale?” Your brows furrowed in confusion.
“Can I come in?” She asked, not really letting you answer as she pushed her way into your house. Alexia took your hand as she passed, the warm seeping into your bones, leaving a gentle tingle in its wake. You were dragged into the living room, Alexia pushing you to the sofa as she sat next to you, never letting go of your hand. “Your parents aren’t here, are they?” She phrased it as a question, but you knew she knew the answer. You sighed, shaking your head and shrugging your indifference.
“They’re never here; it’s no biggie.” You smiled meekly at her.
“No, that’s not true. It is a biggie. They should be here for you. You are a child; you need your parents. Parents give you hugs and tell you everything is ok. Parents tell you they’re proud of you. Parents don’t ignore their kid to the point where they don’t even know what sport they play, let alone that they have just won one of the biggest competitions in Europe.” She was ranting now. “Parents don’t leave the country without telling their kid. Parents look after their children.”
“Well, I’m not a child!” You shouted, interrupting her tirade. You also pulled your hand out of hers – ignoring the fact that every fibre of your being was screaming at you not to. Alexia looked at you, confusion evident in her expression. “I turned 18 last week.” You added quietly. That was a secret you had hoped not to spill. You hadn’t had to work too hard to hide your birthday; not even the Barça admins knew the day had passed. You made the mistake of looking at Alexia. You really, really wished you hadn’t. The hurt that flashed across her face did more to break your heart than anything your parents could (or couldn’t) do to you.
“We missed your birthday?” She asked so quietly you struggled to hear her.
“I didn’t tell anyone. You technically didn’t miss anything if you never knew.” You avoided her gaze, fingers coming together to fiddle nervously on your lap. Alexia stood up sharply, her unexpected movement drawing your attention once again.
“Stand up.” She instructed.
“What why?”
“Pack a bag, you’re coming home with me.” Her tone left no room for argument, yet you still tried to.
“Wha-why? No, I’m fine. It’s ok, honestly. It’s nothing. I promise I’m fine.” Your voice crack gave you away. You so desperately wanted to go with Alexia, to have her take care of things for you, to have her give you the warm hugs and soft smiles you had seen her give Vicky and Martina. You had always shied away from her contact, though, chalking it up to disliking physical contact. But now, after the weekend of hugs and kisses from loving families – you knew it was your subconscious protecting you from something you knew you wouldn’t receive regularly.
“Pequeña. This is not up for debate. Either you pack a bag and come with me, or I move in here with you. And I have a feeling that your parents, whenever they do return, would not want a 30-year-old woman living in their house uninvited.” She quirked an eyebrow at you, daring you to go against her again.
“I can’t,” you squeaked out.
“Why not?” Despite her firm voice, you could tell she wanted to figure out why you were so reluctant to leave this life behind. This was all you’d ever known. The isolation, the self-sufficiency, the hiding, and the lying. You didn’t know what would happen if you let yourself fall into Alexia’s open arms. What if she left again, too? There had been rumours swirling all over the internet. You couldn’t let yourself be attached to a singular person. It would hurt far too much if they left. You were fairly sure you wouldn’t be able to be fixed.
“I can’t,” you settled on instead of explaining the whole truth to her.
“Why not?” She asked again, the firmness gone as she saw your composure start to break.
“I …” The lump in your throat prevented you from speaking any more. You took some steadying breaths, willing yourself not to cry. Alexia crouched in front of you, ignoring the slight ache in her muscles as she ran her fingers up and down your bare thighs in soothing, repetitive motions. “If … if I let myself become too reliant on people … on you … and you don’t want me anymore … I think I might break.” You spoke so slowly, so softly, that Alexia had to strain to hear you.
“Oh, querida. No,” she surged forward, her strong arms wrapped around you, her warm scent invading your senses. "We will always want you. I will always want you.” She said so absolutely, and you had no choice but to believe her.
That was all you needed to hear for the dam to break. Tears bubbled over your carefully constructed walls. You sobbed and sobbed, her grip on you only getting tighter.
“But … wh … ho … I …” you blubbered, the tears getting more and more frantic.
“Shhhh, it’s ok, cariño. I’ve got you.” Her comforting words made you cry harder. You were limp as she rearranged the both of you, settling you against her chest as she sat back against the couch.
She let you sob into her chest for as long as you needed. She rocked you gently from side to side, her fingers scratching at your scalp as her heartbeat provided a soothing rhythm for you. Eventually, you calmed down, slowly drifting into a much-needed sleep.
Alexia could tell you weren’t at peace as she watched you sleep. Your eyebrows were scrunched, your mouth a firm line. Your fingers had wrapped themselves in her shirt so tightly she wondered if there would be a hole in the fabric whenever you eventually let go. She wished with her entire being that she could take your pain away. How could someone do this to their child? How could a parent look at their child and not want to love them the way they should be? How could anyone look at you and think you don’t deserve the world and more? If your parents weren’t going to be there for you, she certainly would be.
It was gone lunchtime when you finally woke. Alexia hadn’t moved an inch – it didn’t matter that her arms were sore or her legs had gone numb; you were comfortable, and that was all that mattered.
“Ale?” You croaked, your voice hoarse from crying.
“Sí, cariño?” She hummed, her thumb running gently over your cheekbone.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t …” you flustered a little, scared of her reaction after you had finally broken down on her.
“Hey, no … shhh. Está bien. Estás bien.” She rocked you again, much like a mother would rock her upset child. It was slightly awkward, given your size – but it was nonetheless comforting. “I still want you to pack a bag,” Alexia said, pushing some hair off your face. “You don’t have to come with me,” she added quickly, sensing your reluctance. “But I don’t want you here alone.” You sighed, knowing there was no way you would negotiate your way out of this one. “You could go to Keira’s, but she can’t cook very well, or Ona’s...” she mused "although you might have to put up with Lucy,” she added in a conspiratorial whisper. This made you laugh, a loud, weird huff that brought a similar smile to Alexia’s face. “I haven’t told anyone what you told us at the final. That is your information to share as, and when, you want to.” She implored. “But Mapí and Ingrid will take you in, no questions asked. As would Marta and Caro, Paños, Irene … any one of the girls will take you in. I promise.” You readjusted yourself, drawing back from Alexia’s chest in order to look at her. This was a conversation that needed to happen face-to-face.
“Is it … can I … stay with you?” You asked nervously.
“Absolutamente.” Her hand reached out for yours, her grip so tight it almost hurt.
“What about Olga?” You were reluctant to impose yourself on another adult’s life when they might not want you there.
“She already loves you, and she’s technically only met you, what? Twice?” She teased, her head dipping down to catch your eye. “She wants you there as much as I do. Prometo.” You took a deep breath, allowing yourself to feel the warmth of Alexia’s skin permeating into yours.
“Ok,” you breathed out, watching Alexia’s mouth spread into a wide, genuine smile you didn’t see too often.
------
Moving in with Alexia was the best thing to have ever happened to you. Long gone were the days of rushing for the metro and figuring out where your next meal would come from. Olga had embraced you with open arms – greeting both you and Alexia with identical hugs, forehead kisses and cups of tea as you made your way into the kitchen after a long day at training. Alexia had dragged you along to her family meal; her Mami was insistent on making sure you were well-fed and looked after properly. Alba had smacked Alexia around the head for not bringing you sooner but offered you a warm smile and asked about your week.
Ona had been informed of your situation that afternoon. She quickly showed up with a bag piled high with sweets that definitely broke your diet and demanded to know the Netflix password as she settled down on the sofa, bringing her arm around your shoulder and whispering a promise not too dissimilar to Alexia’s.
Keira had hung around after training one afternoon, offering a tight hug before telling you that her spare room was always open, and you just had to ask, and Narla would be all yours for however long you wanted her. That made you laugh, especially after hearing Lucy’s indignant ‘Oi’ from the showers as she heard Keira’s promise.
Eventually, you did tell the rest of the team about your parents. Jona was the first to know officially. As manager, he needed to know the situation as soon as possible. Alexia had been by your side the whole time, her hand in yours, and she sat with you, stepping in to explain things now and then when she sensed you were becoming overwhelmed. Mapí had wanted to kill your parents – threatening murder and retribution on them for doing this to her ‘niña preciosa’. Ingrid had been just as angry, although she had the forethought to contain her anger. She had pressed a long kiss to the top of your head as she engulfed you in a hug, insisting you come round once a week for a movie night and sleepover.
Slowly, you learned that it was good to rely on people. That it was ok to need help and have that safety net below you. The heartbreak you felt when you thought about your parents would probably always be there, but you learned that you didn’t need them. You had the team … and even if they left and moved away, they would always be there for you. They were one phone call, one plane, train, or car journey away.
Your biological family might have been shite … but you didn’t need them. You had your found family.
I hope you enjoyed it <3<3<3<3
