For years since my buddy @imalsonotsure/ @three-stacked-raccons was kind enough to draw this portrait of Academic!Zemo, inspired by the events of my fic from sokovia with love (specifically a scene in ch. 4), I’ve sworn that I would find all the pieces to get as close to fully replicating the outfit as I can on my chibi!Zemo doll:

it’s not completely detail accurate to the art’s colors, but I was so excited just to have the main pieces, I had to put it up! LOOK AT HIM IT’S SO CUTE 🥰 🖤💜🖤

this is a small close-up shot, just because. he doesn’t have a bow tie in the original art or the fic, but it was so cute I couldn’t resist (and I’m sure, knowing Zemo, he’d be very tempted to throw it on just to complete his “who, me? I’m just a harmless little history professor 🥺” cover as they infiltrate the library).

this was a lot of fun to finally dress him up in, and it means a lot to me to finally get to pay tribute in a way to a piece of art that I’ve adored ever since it was posted 🖤 thank you again for your time and your talent, Toni! Love you, friend! 💖💖💖

tiny!Rora is finally on the scene, much to the mingled delight and terror of tiny!Maxi and Hex

here they are assembled, ready for the season 🎃

I ordered her back at the end of August, closer to my birthday, and she just arrived when I was getting home from work - I literally met the postman at the door, which was lucky.

She’s based on a combination of references: this Halloween art drawn by @imalsonotsure from our first October, and this commission from @snaxk that I treated myself to for passing my exams!

both of these pieces are really close to my heart, so I sent them to the artist (NoizFoxy over on etsy, yet again!) and we talked through how to get details from both in the final look. 🥰🖤 I’m thrilled with how she came out, she perfectly completes the set!!

(fun fact: the journal I have them on is my dedicated Mortuary notebook ☠️)

I have an ita bag I’ve been working one with Mortuary-themed pins for months now that I keep referencing, and I kept rearranging the pins bc I wasn’t quite satisfied with it. Now that I have all three, though, I’ll get a photo soon to post lol 🖤 I’m trying to figure out how I can add in some little wire-belts, of sorts, so I can pop the three of them out whenever but also securely tuck them in it so they don’t fall over when I’m going somewhere I want to show off lol. It’s got pins I’ve been holding onto for years, so now I’m really glad I have a place for them that can also be a place for these three!!

Since (at the time) I had the money, I also got a 15cm version of tiny!Maxi that I’m referring to as stunt!Maxi - I keep tiny!Maxi and Hex with me in my bag a lot, now, but tiny!Maxi is starting to show it a little since I’ve had him longest :’D

For comparison - 8cm vs 15cm, and you can see where tiny is definitely looking in comparison like he’s been loved, poor guy :’D🖤

I’m planning on using stunt!Maxi as my main fidget now, so he’ll get more of the nervous rotating in my hand or just held on to while I’m doing stressful stuff. This saves tiny!Maxi from wearing out faster than Hex and Rora so I can keep them together. I’m hoping since stunt!Maxi is slightly bigger he’ll hold up longer, but I guess we’ll see!

I feel slightly silly getting a backup emotional support mortician, but he really is super helpful since I’ve been commuting for work again/traveling a lot. And I have a meeting coming up with my committee when I submit my prospectus, so I’m very glad he’ll be present for that. :’D

anyway! expect more photos now with the trio, and thanks for humoring me and my little scrunklies :’D I’m glad I have people to share them with, and you guys are great 🖤

so because baron zemo’s been a source of serotonin for me lately as I’ve been trying to work on my fic which makes his snubbing in the current thunderbolts announcement suck all that much more, I thought I’d shoot some outfit photos with my zemo muse doll 💜

I introduced him over on my fandom blog @nbraraeaves when I first got him a while ago - as I think I mentioned in the plush guide I reblogged the other day, I got him from Meizai on etsy a couple years ago a while after I first started from sokovia with love. the coat and shirt he’s wearing are part of the outfit she custom-designed for him! the pants are some generic suit trousers I swapped in, and the boots are actually from a Loki cotton doll I ordered on ebay years ago without really knowing what it was (thus making him my first doll in this style).

anyway, onto this slapdash fashion show that I put together while no one came to my drop-in hour for work lmao 😂

1. I try to have a “casual” outfit for my plushies that travel with me a lot back and forth to my family’s place in TX, and Zemo is one that usually comes with just bc I never know when I’m going to get bit by the from sokovia bug again. I bought him this hoodie bc it’s purple, albeit a different shade from his main color, but I also just really wanted to see him in something cute and silly. (excuse my crooked bow, I’m still working on my technique)

Just modeling the hood up, with a different angle for the embroidered details one might miss on his enormous noble head.

2. I have a puffy pirate shirt that I bought specifically to give my different plushies their macfayden Mr. Darcy moment (minus water obvs), and on Zemo I always think of him being cajoled into posing for a traditional portrait by his parents, maybe when he’s still working his way up through the ranks of EKO Scorpion:

2.5. I’ve been wearing a sword necklace I got a few years ago recently as I’ve been planning chapter 10, and I suddenly desperately needed to know how it would look if I gave it to him to hold -

with some quick thinking to make the chain itself into a sort of harness belt, it turns out he looks quite dashing wielding his family’s ancestral weapon!!

3. then of course I had to see how he looked with his usual coat over top, and definitely got a swashbuckling-‘92 Candyman hybrid vibe that I adore with his little frilly sleeves sticking out 🖤

4. finally, I don’t have his famous bathrobe yet bc I’m still looking for the right color, but for now, here are his pajamas, which are the closest I’ve managed to come right now:

The face is based on one of my favorite picrews I did of him sometime back! and the outfit, of course, is based on @imalsonotsure’s first drawing she did of him ages ago that is still near and dear to my heart 🥰

They even got his moles!! And, you can’t see it from his angle, but he has a little earring embroidered into his left ear 🖤

His hair is slightly more ginger than I thought it would be based on the sample photo I was shown, but we’ll say he’s just been out in the sunny graveyard a lot lately lmao 👻 I’ve already had to wrestle him away from my cat once (hence the tiny little snag in his eye embroidery that I’m trying to figure out how to fix) bc he loves soft fluffy fabric and keeps trying to chew on his hair when I’m not looking :’D

most niche dislike: “people who don’t do their research” is the only way I know how to word it?? I see a lot of tourists when I’m in nola who are in sandals made for walking around malls at most and big-ass expensive status bags not made for the space or the weather and I’m like “oh babe, you’re gonna have a bad time. :’D” lately I’ve been talking a lot on twitter about how lowkey irritated I can be when people only interact with a text on a surface level and don’t try to get into the historical factors behind it. but this is not how people have to approach fandom at all, and that’s totally fine!! I’m just a nitpicky nerd who makes everything a research project when they don’t have to lol

opinion on the circus: acrobats - neat! clowns - coming around to them, thanks to the work of @eldritchcircus! performing animals - historically, not a big fan! :’D

do you have a sense of direction: yes, but I’ve been inside so much the last few years I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s withered somewhat.
