Here's an interesting question for your Magician AU: How do the boys have their magic in the first place? Are some people just born with it, or were they made by a magician, or did they obtain it, or what?

ALRIGHT.

i know its been... ages. sorry about that.

i originally had some steapunk-ish magical worldbuilding ideas, but it also had weird mafia themes because i was in my Sleuth Jesters Era then. so we scrapped that.

HOWEVER. i can still answer this one!!! answer under the readmore :D

basically, everything living has the "potential" to do magic. it's a part of life - to live, you have a magical core. period. however, MOST people can't access this core. sometimes they can, but only subconsciously. this might manifest as someone with a green thumb, who is just weirdly good with plants. or maybe they have an affinity for animals. or perhaps their cooking is spectacular! little things. (this doesn't mean every talent or skill someone has is a latent magical ability, just that it has been known to manifest. you can be a great cook and have a completely dormant magical core.

now, some beings have either a stronger magical core, or maybe just get lucky and have something that kicks it into gear, making it "active" rather than "dormant." these people can perform magic! lots of different types! illusions, scrying, elemental affinities, manipulating the laws of space and time and all that jazz! they can also get really really good at party tricks lmao.

maybe some of them are even craftspeople - those with active cores that can imbue inanimate objects with magic. :)

so, that's how it is with humans. speaking of imbuing inanimate objects with magic - and therefore life - animatronics.

so here's the deal - magic runs through everything. one of the most common natural sources of magic comes from leylines, shifting currents of magic that travel across the planet. (someone feel free to correct me if im doing leylines a disservice by dropping them in here, im just going with a generic "fantasy novel" definition.)

as it turns out, highly advanced animatronics with incredibly powerful learning AI's and personality chips are what one might call "susceptible" to natural magic, and leylines. Fazbear Entertainment flew a little too close to the sun on this one - eventually their creations became so advanced that, to magic, they appeared as a perfect vessel to fill with life.

Magic saw Freddy Fazbear and said "is anybody gonna turn this thing into a fantastic dad and sentient being?" and then didn't wait for an answer.

Once the magical community REALIZED what had happened - that magic had taken the next "evolutionary step," of sorts, the magical community had no choice but to fight for the rights of what they KNEW were living, thinking, feeling beings.

Since I'm no longer taking the "steampunkish" vibes for the magician AU, I'm going this route instead - it's the regular old modern world, BUT. Animatronics have been found sentient and given rights. It just so happens that, in the context of the Magician!au, Sun and Moon (and Eclipse) found magic to be really, REALLY fun. They chose a career that would let them utilize it in plain sight, and still have tons of interaction with people - Magicians!

Important context is that the magical community is very much hidden from the mundane one. Technically, all animatronics are actually witches, just like humans who have active magical cores. Sun, Moon, and Eclipse can get away with using their magic in front of mundanes because of the job they chose! :D

Part of the reason it was so easy to convince the magical community to fight for animatronic rights was because magic doesn't just bring anything vaguely human shaped to life. If it did, there wouldn't be a need for necromancers - the planet's natural magic would be raising the dead left and right. No, it was that animatronics met all the criteria magic needed to consider something "alive," and so it just. Took the final step. :)

AN IMPORTANT SIDE EFFECT OF THIS, HOWEVER - due to the nature of animatronics technically being more akin to "constructs" than a naturally "born" creature, they have inherent access to their magic. ALL animatronics can perform magic. Which was the OTHER reason the council and magical community fought so hard for their rights - they had to get these guys some kind of TRAINING before they exposed the entire magical community to the planet.

hello anyone who is reading this.

I'm sure my on and off presence on Tumblr comes as no surprise to you all who still follow me, or who come to read my works from time to time. so i'll keep this brief -- im leaving. since i started this blog, to all the times i would come on here, and now as i write this post, its been hard. the death of family members, college, life, and my spiritual journey.

i know that religion is a touchy subject so i won't dive too deep into that, but please know that my religion is the most important thing to me followed by family and community. and for that reason i must leave and delete this blog. there are personal convictions and other things that have just kept me torn between two worlds, and at the end of the day i choose myself and my spirituality. this decision is in no way shape or form supposed to anger or scare you, even though it might make you sad. trust, a part of me is sad to leave this place.

my daisies and mutuals, you all mean so much to me -- more than you could ever know. from the day i first started posting, the journey into the reservoir dogs fandom has been amazing. all of you are talented, quirky, and so so creative that i can't even wrap my mind around it. your works (in all forms) has me in awe, seriously, anything y'all do just makes my heart swell with pride. but i can no longer take continuous hiatuses and not say anything, neither can i disappear without a trace.

i'm leaving, and so are my works. once again for personal religious reasons i have come down to this solution and it is final. im not sure if anyone will read this, so i'll give it a little time to marinate. in a month or two (pending), I will be deleting my blogs and all of my works. however, if you want to reblog, share, screenshot, fuck it if you wanna copy and paste my works into your notes go ahead! i may not live here anymore on this blogs but fandom is forever. so i relinquish my res dogs into the sea of Tumblr forever. it's been so real. and i'm lucky to have been surrounded by so many lovely people -- real people behind these blogs. and that my love for eddie has been forever ingrained into your minds 🤭

i know im not the first to leave, and i wont be the last. so be nice to the people who are here. show your mutuals and creators some real love, you never know what the person behind the icon is feeling. that being said, i leave this place with nothing but truly happy feelings and memories that will stay with me forever.

I am thankful for you. Thank you for being there for me, thank you for doing what you’re passionate about. Thank you for shitposting and talking about the topics and games you enjoy. Thank you for being my friend- you mean a lot to me even though I struggle to keep communication up. You were and still are one of the few people in my life that appreciates me, that appreciates my art- that keeps me going.

As you’re aware, i’ve been struggling with physical illnesses and my family. But you’ve been there- and i appreciate it. With what’s happening in the world that you know I can’t speak about, you’ve done it. And again, I thank you.

love ur content! what are some writeblrs and wips you recommend?

thank you very much!! i'm afraid i rarely follow specific wips, but in terms of people i'd have to say -

@holotones - some of the most raw, real writing i've had the privilege to read. includes everything from western to scifi to dark academia - they have the RANGE, darling. i still think about a passage they posted on an oc of theirs, pavel, sometimes, and have to bite my tongue to keep from screaming

@popovs - i think everyone knows eva at this point. their writing is so ridiculously gorgeous, it feels like reading gold - if that makes sense?? their images are vivid, their dialogue hits hard, and you are going to be thinking about whatever they posted last for the next few days at least

@at-lxs - atlas doesn't post much but i maintain that her writing is literally some of the BEST i've ever read. her mind is so fucking sharp and her ideas so fucking good,, 100/10 would be mutuals with again, i love her sm

@carumens - carmen was one of the first people to reach out to me when i was starting out on writeblr and i can never thank them enough for that. they're sweet, supportive, and also have a wip (sunflowers at night) that i can't WAIT to see as a novel seated with the rest of my favorite books on my bookshelf :)

@evergrcen - relatable posts and writing that kicks you in the throat and leaves you gasping. everything elle posts will get you feeling like your heart skipped a beat, she's just That Good. and? also?? literally so nice??? i can't

@llesbianwrites - 100/10 taste in music and 1000/10 writing quality. each new character intro they post has me internally screaming to know the full story, it's so good

@emdrabbles - treasured mutual!! em is great because you can shitpost with her & then actually end up coming up with an idea that's... not half bad. beyond that, her writing is just? so good?? you get attached to all the characters and the worldbuilding is so expansive you can feel the thought that's gone into it. i in theory like none of the genres she writes in and yet i'm still obsessed, THAT'S how good she is

@bitterbodies - their writing style is the kind that feels like a repeated punch in the stomach with each sentence. they paint their scenes so beautifully it almost feels like poetry, and their ideas are just,,, oh my god

@saintsophia - i have fallen in love with every single one of her characters to no return's point, and i don't even have words for her writing style. i can still remember images from her writing that stuck with me, sentences like 'we collected the butts of her cigarettes because it was the closest we'd ever get to being kissed by her' (i am absolutely butchering that quote rn, i'm so sorry sophia) and it's all just,,, incredible. so, so, so good

I agree, this season has been disappointing - especially considering it’s the last one. but thankfully, our fandom is full of amazing writers that serve us goods regularly. I have so much to recommend, it’s a joke. so prepare for a long fic rec. In no particular order, let’s begin:

1. Chasin’ You - @burninghoneyatdusk

okay. you’re gonna see a bit of a theme with me in these fic recs because the authors I mention are some of my favourites in the world - sam being one of the TOP TIER ones. this fic is a modern au, written about clarke and bellamy as exes (a favourite trope of mine) that have went their separate ways. clarke has moved away and hasn’t kept tabs on bellamy but he's soared to the top as a country star, his hit single being about her and what they had. if there’s any fic from this list you need to start reading, it’s this one.

2. Voices in the Water - @burninghoneyatdusk

It’s the canon version we all wanted. set on earth, clarke’s aunt (nia) forces her into an arranged marriage with king bellamy to unite the clans. but under it all, nia has tasked her to kill him. obviously, as clarke falls in love with bellamy, it’s the one task wanheda probably can’t complete. I'm in love with the imagery and descriptions in this fic. there are honestly some lines that sam writes that I want to frame and put up in my house. absolute brilliance.

3. All Because of You - @burninghoneyatdusk

*sheepishly raises hand* - hi, it’s me again, fangirling over another one of sam’s fics. if you have followed me for a while, either here or on twitter, you’ll have seen me screaming about this fic. I've pulled over while driving to read an update that came through to my email. no lie. I don’t say this lightly but it is definitely in my top 3 favourite bellarke fics of all time. sam DELIVERS with this one. bellamy knocks up his sister’s best friend when they’re both young and they grow together in raising their daughter. this fic flashes between present and future in the most seamless way and we see how in love they were back then but too scared to admit it, combined with how in love they are now that they are mature and older - but yet can’t seem to take the leap. I can’t tell you enough how good this fic is. I'm in love and it’s one of those fics that I would happily have as a book on my bookshelf, the pages worn and falling out from the amount of times that I re-read it.

*I just want to note that sam is doing a fantastic job at running @bellarkefic-for-blm. This is an opportunity for the bellarke community to directly support the Black Lives Matter cause through reading and writing fanfiction. For every fanfiction prompt a participating writer receives, they ask that you donate to an organization that supports the BLM cause. 4. Count Your Teeth - @icantloseyou-too

let me tell you, you guys will be well fed after reading this fic. It’s one of the most original idea’s and we get so much bellarke and the blake siblings in this one. bellamy is a treasure hunter and married to clarke, after leaving his thieving days behind him. that is until his past comes knocking and drags him back into that world again - and clarke along with him. absolute chefs kiss!

5. Cups and Sorcerers - @icantloseyou-too

again, such a unique plot with just the right amount of fluff. clarke is a witch who owns a coffee shop and she ends up meeting someone just as unique as her. I’m invested in this to an embarrassing degree and it always puts me in a good mood when this fic is updated. such a light and heart filling read and ciara does a fantastic job of world building in this fic.

6. Paint me in Trust - @pawprinterfanfic

I'm sure this fic needs no introduction. everyone and their mother has heard of it and if you haven’t read it yet, believe me, you’re missing out. a harry potter au that runs alongside the last few movies without being involved with the main characters. essie manages to make an already existing world so different, thrilling and gripping. it emotionally upends you and takes you along for the ride without any intention of letting you off. I'm just in love with it and rightly so!

7. When the Wolves Come Home - @pawprinterfanfic

I don’t know how people aren’t RAVING about this fic more because I certainly am. it’s massive for me to even say this because I love all of essie’s work but it’s my favourite fic that she’s written. I can’t describe the feeling I get when I read how she’s written bellarke in this. it’s a percy jackson au but you don’t need to have knowledge of that world to enjoy this. I actually started reading the books because of this fic. essie writes it so well and incorporates a lot of fantastic elements from greek mythology while also keeping me on the edge of my seat with bellarke’s journey. HERE FOR IT ALL THE WAY.

8. I’ll Find You in the Morning Sun - @cominguproses13x

I’ve never seen a fic talked about as much as this one. with 60 chapters, it’s bound to satisfy any hunger you have for bellarke. it’s set in a post apocalyptic world and it is beyond a shadow of a doubt, my favourite setting to read bellarke in. I've actually stopped reading this fic on chapter 5 because im currently writing my own post apocalyptic au as it was a trope on my bingo card and I don’t want any subconscious spill over, but I fully intend on reading the rest of the fic in one go once my fic is published and done. it deserves all the praise and hype.

9. For Blue Skies - @kombellarke

kayla’s fics make me actually weep. her writing style is just unbelievable and she sucks me into stories so fast. this one is no different. I live and breathe for bellarke as exes and this fic is one of my favourites. it’s a modern au with clarke as a mother and she cascades back into bellamy’s life without warning. perfect angst and anticipation. in love.

10. Love Like Fools - @talistheintrovert

the way I love talis with my whole heart. I'm always obsessed with her fics and the way this one was written was just magnificent. enemies to friends to lovers, roommates, angst, emotional comforting? SIGN ME UP. the perfect mix of all of those and I felt so good after reading this. always a fan.

11. It Had To Be You - @useyourtelescope

I had the honour of pre-reading some of this fic before it was published and I felt so privileged. a regency au with a prank war sprinkled in? perfection. hana honestly writes this so beautifully and I can’t recommend this enough. it’s so unique and we are all so incredibly lucky that there’s something in the bellarke fic world for everyone.

12. Veni, Vidi, Vinci - @carrieeve

Again, proof of the pudding that there’s something in fic for everyone. I’ve never read one like this before and it THRILLED me. murphy and bellamy working together to steal a Vinci? it was the fic I never knew I needed. the bellarke interaction in this was beautifully written and I am just completely obsessed. we really struck gold with the bellarke big bang works this year.

13. A Twist of Fate - @queenemori

let’s be honest, soulmate au’s are always wanted and needed in this fandom and kara does an excellent job of serving us this one. we got some team cockroach in here along with some top tier quality bellarke. what more could you ask for? if you haven’t read this fic yet, you need to. so thankful for kara being the absolute gifted babe that she is.

14. Power Over Me - @sparklyfairymira

okay, if you recently watched the witcher on netflix like I did, believe me, you NEED to read this fic. if you haven’t watched the witcher, this fic will make you want to watch it. the smut in this, the plot, the WRITING. absolutely phenomenal. have I mentioned how lucky we are to have such fantastic writers in this fandom?

15. There’s a Serpent Lying Deep Down in These Still Waters - @shaeheda

post apocalyptic au? SIGN ME UP. bellarke thrown together in unkind circumstances? SIGN ME UP. this magnificent human writing a fic? SIGN ME THE FUCK UP. I'm so in love with this fic already and I haven’t even finished it yet. as I've said, I've stopped reading fics in this genre until my own is completed but I’ve read enough to tell you that this needs to be on your next to read list. forever in awe of the talent here and this fic makes me feel so lucky to be part of something so great.

I hope this satisfies you for a while and that you enjoy all the bellarkey goodness that comes from these fics. I'm gonna drop some of mine below because why not? just in case you’re in need of something more.

2. I Am Lost This Time

a void!bellamy fic that we all deserved to have happen in canon. an au where bellamy hears clarke’s radio calls from earth, sees her memories in m-cap and where she really is the key: the one that unlocks his memories and brings him back to her.

3. Purple, Blue, Orange, Red

bellarke are childhood friends and teenage lovers, reuniting in the midst of the same grief that tore them apart.

4. Devil Side

post apocalyptic setting and my favourite fic to have ever written. both of them coming together to survive and protect those in their family, including two small children. bellarke started out as strangers, who would have thought that they’d end up co-parenting in the middle of a world that is too dangerous to survive out in the open?

5. Waste It on Me

a soulmate/reincarnation au that I wrote based off my own breakup and feelings. probably my most popular fic and should keep you going in terms of bellarke feels.

I think that you are a genuinely intelligent person. The way you phrase your sentences, basic or not, you always make it seem as if you’ve put hours of thought and care into it.

When i see the way you write, I immediately think, “Yeah, that’s def an educated person.”

Ofc i don’t know you personally, but i felt if i had told you my darkest secret, you wouldn’t tell anyone and you would take that secret to your grave.

You’re just a very safe person for a lot of us to talk to, and for me, i could almost say you’re like a big sister, except without the sister part because big sisters are mean. Anyways, you seem like a very caring person, and i don’t want to compare negatively with anyone else, but usually when i send asks to other creators, i expect a short or vague response, and i didn’t rlly have a problem with that. But you actually talk to us, and it doesn’t feel like we’re talking to a celebrity who is so far out of touch with us.

Even though you have a lot on your plate with school and writing, you manage to show us your strong side, even if it may be hard. That’s what i envy about you. But if you do ever feel it, you can show us that you’re struggling, and the reason you can do that is bcs you’ve created a close bond with us. Even with the people who don’t send asks, they probably feel care for you like the ones who send asks do.

This may just be me, but I really like to make sure that people feel important and feel their impact on other people. I want you to know that every morning when i wake up and go through tumblr, I always get excited for your posts and i like looking through all of them, especially your daily hongjoong posts.

You are genuinely so talented and I could probably write a whole essay as to why i think your talented. I could analyze your stories and still not really get to the nitty gritty because it would take time to actually try and see what exactly goes on in your mind and your characters minds when i read, and that’s, like, the best thing ever. Like, there wasn’t a lot of authors where i could read their stories and try to analyze their characters, or when i do so, it’s so quick and easy. I hope you get what i mean, because i’m honestly not good at explaining things because my mind is going a mile a second and once a thought it there then it just leaves immediately lmao.

But to finish this off, i will say it simply 😤 You are an amazing writer and your writing and persona has a positive impact on not only me but all of us. I love you ❤️

i think for me the thing that is most important in interacting with others around me is that sense of safety. as much as i want to feel safe here on this blog, i want and feel a burning need for others to also feel safe. i want people to know they are loved and cherished here no matter what, and in my time as an anon on various writing blogs, the thing that always bothered me was when people would respond to a detailed ask with 1-2 sentences that never felt genuine. i strive to maintain a certain level of respect for any ask i receive, no matter who is behind it, and i want to give my all in responding to those asks because i know what it feels like to give a lot and receive little in return. beyond that i just adore getting to talk with people, and in real life, talking to people is incredibly difficult and stressful for me. being able to talk so much and so freely here on this blog is such a rewarding experience for me as a person beyond just being a writer and a content creator.

but also im someone who doesn't like showing when things are difficult. i only really admit that it's hard and hurts when it's been bottled up for a while, but these days im trying my best to learn to be more forgiving with myself, and truly it's because of the love and affection and support that you all show me that i feel comfortable enough and safe enough to open myself to you guys.

as someone who also loves making sure people feel important and needed and special, it means so much to me that you find such value in my blog because it's such a special and precious place to me as well

Domestic Life

· Paz usually wakes up pretty early, so he goes to take a shower. When he’s done, he crawls back into bed with you. It might sound weird, but Paz likes watching you sleep, occasionally pressing a kiss to your shoulder, and wondering how he got so damn lucky to marry you.

· As it gets closer to the normal scheduled wakeup time, he starts touching and kissing you everywhere, mapping every part of you that he can reach. He can’t help himself – he has to have his hands on you. Paz is very affectionate in private.

· When he knows you are awake (but still pretending to sleep), he moves down to your sides and tickles you until you break and start to laugh. He loves it when you tickle him back because it usually devolves into play-wrestling. He lets you win sometimes.

· When the alarm goes off, he unwraps the blankets from around you, much like he is celebrating Christmas every morning by your side. After a few stolen kisses, he ushers you to the bathroom (with an affectionate swat to the backside, if that’s your thing).

· From here, he goes to get ready for the day. If you have kids, he’ll get their bags lined up on the table. He’ll put on his own armor and set yours out on the table for you. By now, you’re usually done with your shower, so he gives you something small to eat before physical fitness training – usually a piece of jerky or a boiled egg, just something small to get you through the next few hours.

· If you two have kids, the smaller ones go to the nursery for supervision, while the older ones stay in their beds to sleep in. You and Paz go work out with the rest of the tribe. By the time you are done, the older kids are awake and getting ready to go eat breakfast.

· And oh boy, breakfast is noisy for the Tribe. The children are either sleeping in their plates or wrestling in the aisles – there is no in-between for this lot. You and Paz (and the kids) eat in one of the private rooms so he can take his helmet off. Then you go socialize with people until breakfast hour is over. Sometimes, he will cuddle you in his lap and selfishly keep you all to himself.

· (One time, you two stayed in the private room way past the end of breakfast hour, prompting some smartass to come knock on the door and yell, “This might be a family room, but that doesn’t mean you need to make one in there!”)

· Once the kids are all distributed to their designated teachers for the day, you and Paz share a keldabe kiss and part ways to work. He goes to the armory to do weapons maintenance, or to help someone fix something. Some days, he goes to the shooting range to run morning drills, just so he can keep everyone sharp. Other times, he’ll grab someone who is struggling with something (shooting, sparring, life in general) and coach them through it.

· You two always find a few minutes to sneak off and send the other a sweet message. (Or a loth-cat meme.)

· Lunch is usually eaten alone, though sometimes you and Paz will sneak off for a few minutes alone with each other. (If you have kids, they’re off having fun and don’t want to be supervised because they get away with so much more.)

· After lunch, more work. Paz goes to oversee afternoon drills for the adults, though these aren’t that common. Most of the time, after morning lessons, he and a handful of adults can be found taking the kids out for basic survival lessons. This includes things like building fires, hunting prey for food, and learning to track. Other times, he’s helping teach the kids how to use their jetpacks, flamethrowers, and other weapons.

· When the sun starts to set, everyone does one last walkthrough of the grounds to make sure that everything has been collected and put away. Once indoors, everyone takes a shower and heads to the karyai for dinner. Dinner is a lot quieter than breakfast, since the kids are usually worn out by this point.

· After dinner, the elders take the kids to teach them about Mandalorian history and culture while the adults go take care of communal chores (like cleaning, organizing, and finding whatever the children have broken). When that’s all done, some people go to the karyai to play music and socialize, while others have to go to bed early. You and Paz stay for a few songs before retiring for the evening.

· Once back in your room, you and Paz will take your time getting ready to sleep. If you’re feeling particularly saucy, you and Paz will have a rematch on that wrestling match. 😉

(Your) First Time (was) with Paz Vizla ohhhh yeah, now at the 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥SPICY🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 stuff 

· Paz Vizla is attracted to strong, confident, and competent partners. The two of you met during combat. You had been taking cover behind some rubble to reload your weapons and he had dived in with you, quite literally running into you. Just a few moments later, someone tried to take the two of you by surprise. So you had whipped his blaster out of his holster and shot the fucker dead. Paz had been torn between being offended and impressed at your quick reflexes as you cheekily put his blaster back where it belonged.

· (Hint: he was smitten from that moment onward.)

· For six long months, he flirted with you. He started subtly at first – brushing up against you, standing a little too close during conversations, and warning off other potential suitors. Subtlety didn’t sink in, so he decided to ratchet up the intensity. He shared his ammunition with you. He lent you his weapons. He offered you food from his plate. He shared his drink with you. He bought you chocolate. He complimented you. He did everything that he could, yet it never seemed to progress past flirtation.

· At some point Din Djarin noticed the lack of response and slyly chimed in with, “Come on, stop torturing Paz and let him have a kiss, why don’t you?”

· Paz will never forget the moment that it seemed to click in your head. You stopped dead in your tracks, turned to face him, and asked, “Paz, have…have you been flirting with me?”

· He was stunned into silence and could only manage to nod once in response as you just stared at him. Then you shyly said, “Oh…I didn’t want to assume you would be interested in me.” (Din nearly knocked himself out face-palming at your words.)

· From there, things progress the way he intended, though still quite slowly. The two of you share lots of flirting, a quick grope every now and again, and many stolen keldabe kisses when no one is looking.
