Maybe it’s just me, but something that left a bad taste in my mouth about how Luffy confronts Zeff is that, since Krieg & Gin aren’t there to present an abusive power dynamic that’s a foil to Sanji & Zeff, that fell onto Garp instead. Which to me (and a non-fan who was watching with me) made it feel like Luffy was projecting Garp onto Zeff and didn’t actually care about Sanji’s problems since he never touches base with Sanji in the episode again, even after it becomes obvious he got it all wrong... which feels weird for a major character’s introduction. And is also is a shame, because Taz knocks it out of the park and worked so hard to prepare for the role.

Same with that argument scene about Zoro fighting Mihawk, to a lesser extent. Luffy being hesitant and then agreeing kinda comes across like he only said yes because he’s reminded of Garp again, so he can have a “oh shit was my grandpa right all along” moment when Zoro’s defeated. Which is certainly a convention of modern tv drama, but the idea that this major character beat only happens so the protagonist can angst about it for a while felt so antithetical to how One Piece treats the crew and their goals/problems.

The scene with Zeff really reads like he's projecting Garp, which is also weird bc they never had a rivalry on itself, but rather a more like 'agree to disagree' 'im gonna kick your butt / you wish' kinda dynamic. Neither of them takes shit seriously and thats the charm too

But here Luffy comes across like he actively whant to defy Garp, and in the next ep Garp is so angry about Luffy. So you have scenes like those that have a very different read under that light

The prior figh moment was also strange. It was strange that he didnt support it and then went ok when mentioning dreams. Its true Luffy would change his mind that easily, but something was off

And in the next ep Nami spends a lot of time telling Luffy he has to make the hard choices and be a captain, when actually Luffy supporting the crew's dreams, even in failure, is a big part of it all. But again it doesnt come across like that, thats not the main point they are making. Instead of the 'no matter he lost it was worth it bc he went after his dream' speech Luffy makes outloud, it reads more 'shit maybe im being foolish chasing my dream'

I dont shame any of this, its just the direction they went with, which is different and is part of what adapting to a different platform and a new public was going to mean too

It’s wild to me cause I’ve never seen Ninjago be trending this much since Sons of Garmadon in 2018. So I had to question “What in the name of FSM caused THIS much riot”?!

It’s good so far. Obviously it is.

The fear sequence REALLY took me for a loop in craziness.

And Bonzle… I didn’t think she was gonna play a major role at all, but the casual way she revealed her identity… Me and my GF literally paused and went “I’m sorry, WHAT?!”

I also find a lot of relatability with Arin so much, especially nowadays. And right now, I think this arc is being handled very well. I think Arin is one of those characters that speaks to adults more than kids. Ironic. Him not understanding social cues, his insecurity about being inferior to everyone around him even when they encourage you it’s just mistakes and it doesn’t help your case at all especially when everyone seems to have their thing figured out when you have absolutely no idea what you’re doing and why you’re even here-

IM IN THIS AND I DONT LIKE IT

Gosh I hate that dragon teacher. He reminds me a lot of the worst teachers I’ve had growing up. But I think I’m supposed to hate him.

Also, they are HEAVILY building up to Sora and Riyu learning Spinjitsu. They’re gonna learn it at the end, aren’t they? ARINS GONNA BE SO CRUSHED.

So yeah, it’s good. And we know now why it’s called Dragons Rising.

Is it better than season one?

SO FAR, eh…?

I do have some problems right now. I think Dragons Rising’s weakest aspect is it’s villains, compared to one’s in the main show that interact with the main characters quite a bit, these ones kinda just have a handful of confrontations and then do their own scheming thing and let the armies do the work. It’s kinda less threatening for them as a result.

And even then, those armies went after the lost family once, the ninja once when they went to cloud kingdom, and that’s it.

Except for Cinder shattering Wyldfyre’s bones, that’s insane. I’m surprised that doesn’t happen more often in this show.

It’s kinda off to me that we haven’t seen what went down in Cole’s little journey before he’s suddenly back. And I’m not a fan with putting the mech disks in this with no explanation on how they got them unless you’ve seen the shorts.

I also am hoping Lloyd’s little PTSD, or… foresight traumatic stress disorder, FTSD I guess, isn’t resolved yet.

Also WHAT DID KAI AND WYLDFYRE SEE IN THEIR FEAR VISIONS?!?! THAT IS GONNA DRIVE ME INSANE UNTIL I GET AN ANSWER

I need to get my full thoughts once the whole season is done. I always kinda have to do that.

But RIGHT NOW, I still question the hype a bit. Yeah it’s good, but… wow, WHAT happens in these last four episodes that could’ve POSSIBLY caused this much insanity across the community?

I finally got around to listening to the recent tson and honestly it’s uhhhhh okay? I have a bit to say about it

The shopping center seemed like it’s in the pale city, nothing specific but with what was described in the building, the mannequins in the theater ( remember the mannequins in god’s forsaken hospital level lmao 😔 ), a lot of it seemed to be taken from the 4th chapter of LN2 where we meet the viewers. I found the idea of some non child characters trying to protect kids from characters like the ferryman interesting, it’s maybe the first time we see someone who’s not a kid try to protect the main character.

The walls echoing that the brain needs someone to keep him company reminded me of the flesh walls in LN2 but this is probably not intentional, maybe just me overthinking things and connecting dots that aren’t there. Noone feeling like she was in good hands and the speaker giving her discounts was honestly nice I thought it was kinda funny. The doctor’s desperate need to learn about the ferryman kinda put me off especially when he starts kinda hurt Noone about it :/

So uhhhh the Multiverse aspect, I’ve seen some opinions about it before listening to the 3rd part so I may have had some doubt when I jumped into it but tbh I’m a little okay with the multiverse thing? I say a little because I’m a little disappointed that LN had this scary world to work with that’s become well loved among its fans and with the managerial changes they just went “ it’s another world!! “ it felt cheap. I honestly understand why Tarsier Studios kept the world/characters/lore open ended with a very heavy emphasis on show don’t tell. If they went one way they would disappoint a group of people so they decided to allow the player to decide what’s going on in their head. I do have hope that Bandai and the Writers of TSON can bring interesting ideas to the franchise but this was a little sour.

I hope it’s only 2 worlds and not a whole multiverse where The Maw and The Pale City are in one universe and the Nowhere is in another I feel that can get confusing and funnily enough less interesting to explore since Marvel and other franchises have done that concept to death ( no hate to the spider movies I love them with all my heart I just don’t think the multiverse idea fits for a franchise like little nightmares ). The places from the first two parts seemed like they could be from the same world, the point of it was the world is fucked up and you play as kids that learn how to cope with it and try to survive, that idea immediately dies when you give them the option to just.. wake up. I get that it’s literally called Little Nightmares but that name originally seemed to refer to either the kids or the monsters based on your perspective of the characters.

Maybe they’re going with the idea that at some point kids won’t be able to wake up anymore and have to scarily accept that now they’re part of the nightmare they might die in, im not sure. I’m interested on what TSON and LN3 will take the lore of the franchise, maybe it’ll get better with later installments and the Doctor’s multiverse theory is wrong but eh seems like wishful thinking. I’ll see what happens before I say anything else

This is the version 2, but including version one just like as a reminder of what was which I’ll throw as a reblog onto this. As I’ve been trying to rehone things with this, and feel free to ask more questions, though I may take a bit to respond as I am sick right now and there are storms brewing in my area. 

Plus working on a sort of side blog about my original/inspired projects, that isn’t just daydreaming based but most are and just a general brainrot blog to work on the exclusive “mega paracosm” (daycosm 3) into a more defined version with only inspired characters and not straight up canon characters. 

The major locations of my paracosms like the previously mentioned version 1 are not consistent enough yet to talk a good chunk about, it’s kind of like a mmo or a first draft right now so going to go onto to talk about some paras, these aren’t all nor all main paras as the paras that are focused on change a lot, with new ones being added based on newer or even older interests coming back, and/or a hyperfixation. But as mentioned in version 1 they are super violetial and are prone to change.

Taking inspiration from @/Theaufaverse and their gangs/groupings of characters [their blog isn’t strictly daydreaming based], though this did exist in my paracosm beforehand I’m putting generally more focus on it and making it more obvious. But you’ll probably see other non-popular media/creations being used as inspiration like @/spherearc and the council of favorites [though this did exist beforehand in my paracosm it just was never named]

Though not going fully in depth about every para, I'm going to try to do an overview-ish about them. Feel free to ask more questions, and if anyone has old paras they want to see try to get used, or a paracosm they aren’t working on anymore feel free to talk to me. idk im bored.

Also generally not going to talk about any au versions, yet. They still need some time in the oven, but just going to mention some I’m working on [feel free to ask about] just know that they need more time in the oven currently so information is bound to change about them and such. Alright now onto the new

Current system’s paracosms for those curious and general status:

Daycosm 3 - The system’s Centrecosm, it’s a blanket paracosm with various events and groups being their own subcosm. This paracosm is very much just primparas, various alter paraselves, and paratenres. This is a story about time loops and cycling, and how you can always give things a new try. But also about loss, forgiving and letting go.

Rpverse - This is a daycosm 3 “buddycosm” aka these two paracosms are so intertwined but Are Not subcosms of each other. This paracosm isn’t talked about much these days as it needs a lot more work than daycosm 3 to get presentable. A Lot of daycosm 3 paras have counterparts here. Active.

Into the flip pit - Active, a blanket paracosm which subcosms follow various groups. A collab paracosm by the system, which is mainly Fnaf & Dsaf based though there are non-fnaf related things included like Faith the unholy trinity and EcopportunityX, along with a small bit of pokemon.

Nightcosm -3 - This is just the blanket paracosm for various aus of daycosm 3, each au are typically their own subcosm. Though rpverse aus are typically lumped in here just for convenience. This paracosm is always active though what subcosms are is a different story.

Aether life - This is the current name of the cookie run paracosm, majorly inactive. This needs alot of reworking as we really want to strip the paracosm of all the cookie run barcodes as we’re so tired of the actions of the parent company devsisters.

Fallen hearts - This is a paracosm based on exomemories of various system members, this is an active paracosm but weary of sharing it. Because most paras are all paraselfs for various alters and a lot of them are fictive introjects with their canon source selves being commonly seen as sexy, hot, ect. Which most of the alters are weirded out about being directed towards them.

Minecosm - Dormant, this paracosm only gets mentioned as it was the system’s first major paracosm being based off of minecraft. Though there are some attempts to bring it back, though this paracosm was originally a sandbox paracosm which is why it’s not touched much.

Shape realmverse - Sorta active, a paracosm that’s a batshit insane rewrite of a silly roleplay the system got attached to but ended up hating how the source went down. This paracosm is technically a mutual paracosm as the original sources still give influence to this. Though this paracosm isn’t as developed as others due to how much effort it takes to rewrite the lore.

Three realms - Sorta active, Mutual paracosm technically, a paracosm I stole from my mutual after they stopped enjoying the og source. But I’m honestly scrubbing the barcodes of the source from this because I’m so tired of said source. 

Scorned Reverence Ava - Semi-Inactive, this paracosm’s activity really depends on drake as that’s his paracosm. This is an animator vs animation paracosm, though a lot of common fanon hcs are purposefully Not canon here. As this paracosm is lowkey also drake’s exomemories of his source.

Of Ash and Fire - Semi-inactive, a crossover of some daycosm 3 subcosms and a sort of friend’s story. Though this paracosm is likely getting turned into a subcosm for daycosm 3 and the fictparas having their barcodes scrubbed off.

Of Smoke and roses - Active, a hard to describe paracosm but I’d consider it a PAradaptive. It’s a super personal paracosm that is a personal crossover of 3 medias along with daycosm 3. This paracosm likely will not be mentioned further due to the personal details in it.

It’s late, so this probably won’t be very long but I finished this book yesterday and I LOVED IT.

I related to the main character, Georgia, too much and Jason, Pip and her reminded me of my friend group, even though I would never even fathom dating my Jason. I have no idea how Alice Oseman managed to fit every emotion and experience if ever felt and had into less than 400 beautiful pages but she did and it was almost an awakening.

It was an amazing reminder to appreciate the fuck out of my friends because they are all I have, I love them so much and I’m proud of that. I loved all the characters and how they were so well thought out, there wasn’t a single flat character.

The ending was beautiful, im so happy about how it ended, I only wish there was a second book to hear more about Georgia’s life but I know that’s not what I’d really want. It ended perfectly and as much as I would like it, it doesn’t need any more.

Rooney and Georgia’s friendship was beautiful, I hope someday I’ll have a friend I can unapologetically love like they love eachother. Alice Oseman is a fucking god they did such a fantastic job on this book, im so grateful that my friend recommended it to me, it had a slow start but once I got past the first chapter or two I could not set it down. I highly recommend you read this, just beware there is a lot of talk about sex, so if you aren’t into reading about that I might prepare yourself before reading.

I give this a 9.5/10 as the start was slow, but READ IT!! PLEASEEE

no bc ive been feeling absolutely amazing these past few weeks

ive been taking care of my skin and teeth and honestly there is!!!!! such a difference!!!! when you intentionally set goals and do it! your skin is brighter and you’re happier bc its showing the results you wanted :,)

also ive been doing this thing with my emotions that idek if its healthy for long term but its def helping me now. i used to be scared and anxious over every little thing and now i just?? shove it aside?? like “this isn’t going to matter in 2 weeks time so don’t worry” and its also a very “fuck it” mindset to stop worrying and just do. i like it honestly. its comforting that im teaching myself not to put myself through the stress of it twice

also playing my favourite music in the shower is such a main character thing to do BUT!!!!! it made my mood go up!!! and that is a good thing!!!! i dont really play my music too loud — my brothers are heavy sleepers but my parents aren’t — and honestly music at such a soft volume reminds me of my holiday a few weeks back bc i took an hour to myself in the bathroom (while mom went to the beach) and i sat in the bathtub soaking and playing those emotional instrumental music (top gun soundtrack >) and it felt so theraputic it was so releasing and im happy to have a little spot of paradise back here where i live. i used to play my music loud when i housesat bc i had a whole bathroom to myself lol but i guess some things just dont and thats ok.

ive started braindumping again — but like, mentally? just categorising, thinking about everything i want to think of and eventually processing stuff and its been so good

I wanted to let you know that I love the stories you have written. I think the way you are writing the trauma is respectful and cathartic to read. However, it seems like you might be having an increasingly hard time processing as you write. Is this still helpful for you? I guess im just checking in to make sure you aren’t pushing yourself in a harmful way, rather than a cathartic way.

Aww thank you for checking up on me, im doing good rn. I'm really glad you like my work, I think that my trouble comes from putting it out there and sharing vulnerability with the world, yk? It's like, this isn't my life or my trauma but I'm basing it off of xyz and i don't want people to shit on it or say it's invalid because it's based off of xyz. It's very cathartic to write the series, i swear, and also to think about stuff I went though but also put it on another character and their reaction being bad meaning that I'm not just fucking crazy, yk? Also, most of the time, my emotional drainage is like the kind you get after a therapy session, and so it's neither good nor bad.

For my most recent fic, I think that the whole thing with the editing just sucks, I hate editing my work in general because I'm very critical of it. And so when I'm editing something that brings up uncomfy shit for myself (even though I wrote it), just because it feels so personal, it's harder. so ive decided not to edit the heavier content. The way I see it is, if I need a drink to edit it, it's not getting edited. I'm trying to not trauma dump on my readers and also trying to heal from stuff, and I'm relatively new to this so it's hard balancing it and I'm still learning. Heavier content might be written again, scenes like that might be edited again (although maybe not that specific kind of scene, only time will tell) but they're not going to be edited. That's where the main problem came from, I think.

Anyhoo, now that I bore my heart and soul to the internet, I just wanted to say thank you for checking up on me bc it really means a lot to be reminded that I'm seen as a human and not just a content machine. I manifested a new album from my favorite band by writing an undertale fan fiction.

Here’s a little factoid about me you might not know I have a three days grace tattoo on my arm, It was on my arm at the time of writing somewhere between red and orange, my Undertale fanfiction.  When this album first came out, I immediately bought the vinyl and the CD. I knew immediately that the comparison must have been too close to just be a  coincidence. After many months of this album already being out I think im finally ready to post my theory. While I wrote this story with this tattoo on my arm, I helped manifest  undertale imagery to the band members of three days grace, Caused them to be motivated to write a new album ( remember, this is during the course of a few years. When I started, they had just released outsider their album before ‘explosions’)

So to explain, Three Days Grace released an album called ‘Explosions’ around spring of last year. Each song was represented by a different soul color. With the color choice for the album cover being a very bright, red and orange fiery soul.

The album contains the song choice called “I am the weapon” which readers of the story will know Ember soul was in danger of becoming a weapon. Because if the monster kingdom had her on their side, her power would be enough to summon blizzard, a Cerberus capable of wiping out humans, planned to be used should there ever be another war, the need for leverage arises, Embers assistance would be requested. So in short, Ember (me) could utilize her soul, because her soul could power any weapon. (however it always requires her consent)

It’s ironic because the whole album talks about us being small when it comes to the entire universe.

The song, ‘souvenirs’  on the album, reminds me of how the monsters in the underground got their information from the items that appeared in waterfall.

Of course, I believe this album manifested to me in my life, and how I view objects as some thing that aren’t permanent enough to stress over but are important enough to respect as memories and moments in our lives. I will always be proud of my memories with Undertale, because writing this fanfiction about my beloved had become such a big part of my life, so much so I chose to go to college for creative Writing.  I’m currently still working on my reworking of the story, so that I can rewrite and this time use all of the skill and polish I’ve learned here in college.

What have I learned from this album, created by Destiny just for me? It talks about the feelings we have as humans here on this earth, but most importantly, it speaks as it from my own personal triumphant perspective. The album with each song informed me of how powerful I am and told me of how strong and how i will always be the survivor and savior of my own life, not even once defeated because “There’s no way I’m giving up, cause it’s just not in my blood.” I knew getting that tattoo was the right choice, just like I knew the writing this story was the right choice too. Just look at what I’m capable of when I focus my effort.

Just look at the amazing power of love and effort that I have. I can do anything with the power I have. I can write a story about anyone and make it come true, but I guess it’s the power of being who I am, I can write my hopes and dreams into existence. By writing.

Overall TL;DR I wrote an Undertale fanfiction while I had a Three Days Grace tattoo on my arm. Then, two years later (a year into my complete reworking) the prior mentioned band, then came out with an album. The album cover art is an exact likeness to the symbol of my book series. (just like two hands holding an apple, is the imagery symbol for twilight). The album cover is ‘Ember’s’ (the main character in my story) soul. It is Almost identical to the very first image of Ember’s that first appeared in my fanfiction. (The image I’m referring to is that of my current icon: also posted as one of the first posts on this blog’s timeline.) Virtually identical to what Embers soul would have looked like before her betrayal lines or once healed from them. I manifested the album and heavily influenced the theme, of my favorite bands newest album.

Defense/clarification:

“Why could it only have been me?”

I write for an entire year with a three days grace tattoo on my arm, and Undertale fanfiction were the main characters soul was so similar looking to fire She was nicknamed ‘Ember’.

 Then, two years later, TDG came out with this album.

“Isn’t a heart image too common to consider this more than a coincidence?”

Actually no, you see the world is equally an unbiasedly random. If the only evidence was just the album cover art being a fiery red heart alone, inclined to believe you. However, that was not the only evidence and the imagery in this album isn’t the only evidence either. It’s an every song, lyric and song, title and way the song is played. Not to mention,  there’s more obvious evidence that relates and connects back to my story. The fact that ALL colors of souls used in Undertale, were also used for the album. Each color present in both the album and the game.

“But again why just you?”

Because you must consider all the evidence as a collective. It’s the perfect timing, the fact that I had this tattoo before during, and after the writing process. It’s the fact that I was writing a story where its imagery, directly correlated to the album, because the band chose to prioritize the Orange and red fiery heart color for the final album cover art.

“Do I think three days grace knows about this?”

 No, I think this was more of an act of destiny and an act of God however, Spiritually, they may have been doing it on purpose which is really sweet.

I’d like to think they’re completely unaware of this. I knew where to find this album so it means I could have the opportunity to be made aware by the universe.  A guiding light from all the gods telling me I’m on the right track.

i actually agree with you that trials in drv3 can be really boring and uninteresting

like.. there aren’t any characters that can keep my attention very well and they’re all just very like— archetypical and not really interesting, they don’t subvert any stereotypes the way characters like sakura and fuyuhiko did in previous games

(also i absolutely loathe kokichi, although i like his design and think his VAs did an outstanding job in both languages, i hate that the main antagonist is annoying as hell and just plain boring compared to junko nagito and even byakuya who is barely an antag)

however i do think that drv3 is the best one on a purely functional (?) level, the mini games are really well done and the whole aesthetic of neon futuristic colors and stuff is my favorite of the games (even though i like ultra despair girls as my top pick🫣)

i’m curious what your thoughts are on rantaro and kaede? those (plus tenko and tsumugi) are my faves in v3

rantaro is nice aesthetically. i like his design and would say he's one of the less boring characters. he's not intriguing by any means (his whole idk my talent is kinda meh? idk it didn't intrigue me as much as kyoko or even hajime did in past games)

kaede is complicated. i think she's interesting enough but that's just the fact i really do want to like her. i think she's as boring as the other characters but her positivity schtick + denial of the situation admittedly does remind me of naegi. id probably like her more if v3 was better written

oh god this has probably been sitting here for 27 years, hasn’t it?, my apologies—tumblr mobile is super ass and butt with highlighting inbox notifications, even tho (to me!) theyre the most urgent but WHATEVER!, anyways thank you so much for the ask, the fact that people care about my opinions on anything is so flattering, so i smooch and kiss your head, basically

full, rambling essay (which tbh is way longer than it needs to be) below the cut

id be lying if i said i was pleased, and this is coming from a fannish perspective /as well as/ a plain ol’ gamer perspective.

starting with the fandom bit, specifically The Culling of Soap, because i assume that’s what youre here for:

so, im a complete and utter fool and actively sought out spoilers despite not wanting to see them, so i already knew soap was going to kark it. it is what it is. my hope—tho tbh, it was more of an assumption—was that it was at the very least going to come with nice, high-quality emotional moments to fuel the ghostsoap fire.

which would make sense, no? this was only the 2nd campaign ive ever played, but going off the writing in mw2 and the few scenes ive seen from the 09 campaign, i assumed they’d give a main character’s death a bit of care. like a whole ass heart-wrenching cutscene right after soap got shot. and they really could’ve.

how it went:

- little cutscene with soap (kinda anticlimactically) playing the hero and then getting shot

- return to regular gameplay in which you have to literally just. press a button or two.

but why couldn’t all of the above been a cinematic? like, the gameplay task wasn’t remotely challenging or engaging—it didn’t add to the experience. i can say that it reminded us that we were, in fact, playing a video game and not watching a movie, but?? who the fuck cares? the campaigns shine because they marry visual narrative storytelling with gameplay. ideally, you take the best bits of both to create a whole greater than the sum of its parts, but imo, that was very much not the case.

instead, they used the ash spreading scene as the emotional suckerpunch but omg I am so sorry, that nonsense was BEYOND corny. I was genuinely waiting for the soulful bagpipe rendition of Amazing Grace to start up (as is the tradition for at least irish catholics. i reckon the same goes for their scottish counterparts).

I must recognize the scene’s silver lining, though. That’s right. Three cheers for Ghost looking like the saddest wettest cat to have ever worn BOOHOO MAN joggers. Great choice, by the way, to put the boohooing man in boohoo man. Gotta give it up for that.

But overall, I was rather disappointed by the lack of banter in this campaign. Evidently, there was more banter that I missed, presumably because my style of play is running in guns blazing, screaming “LEEEROY JENKINS”

Which brings me to the Gameplay Section

It was a lot like DMZ! I like DMZ! Which is really fucking lucky because here’s a comprehensive list of mwii and mwiii game modes that are a lot like DMZ

and now for the game modes that /aren’t/ like DMZ

I understand the Paper Pusher Powers That Be rushed development severely, hence the massive amount of reused/repurposed content, but like. I don’t care? Fuck that. At the end of the day, we were offered an expensive-ass bowl full of leftovers mixed with heat-and-serve frozen dinners. Not cool, man.

It makes me extra-pissed hearing that the developers got worked to the bone for this, and it pisses me off that they’re receiving a great deal of the heat re: the game sucking. It’s /so/ not their fault that corporate did as corporate does, that being focusing on the money instead of the quality of the product. y’know, the thing that actually compels people to spend money in the first place.

I have no idea how or if they plan on salvaging this, but I hope they do. It’s pretty damn embarrassing if they don’t.
