Seeing a lot of arthurlot (sonadow) stuff which is many levels of ironic if you've read authurian legends.
I would love to explore some more historically poetic themes with that, if I get the hankering to. Especially since I feel like a lot of themes of brotherhood and comradery in these legends fits the more queerplatonic/abnormal bond between Sonic and Shadow? Provides a great backdrop for a more in-character sonadow interaction imo.

dazai with ocean imagery my beloved,,,, his ability hitting like a cold ocean wave, his voice as lulling as the sea at night, his eyes as inviting as the sparkling ocean waters at sunrise, he's as unforgiving as the stormy seas, his soul as broken and struggling as the earth's polluted waters yet still managing to hold life,,,,

I dunno where some people seem to have gotten the idea that Kenji doesn't like/care for Rio or smth because like. have ya'll actually gone through her social link???
like,,,
and it's at this point Rio's teammates and Yuko run and yell at him, Kenji panics and then runs off. When Yuko grumbles about Kenji comparing Rio to a bowl of ramen, Rio says this:
Ramen is his favourite thing in the world.
Kenji telling Rio he likes her "about as much as ramen" means that he likes about as much as his favourite thing in the world.
I think people also seem not to understand how things seem from Kenji's perspective.
To him, his childhood friend comes up to him and suddenly asks what he thinks of her, if he likes and how much which. is kind of a random thing to suddenly ask your friend that you've known since you were kids??? assuming they were like 5 or 6 when they met, that's basically a whole ass decade? Like it's clear in the way he speaks that he's confused and honestly I would be too???
Another thing to consider is that he and Rio where alone, Kenji likely said it the way he did bc he knew Rio, his childhood friend, would understand what he meant.
Like, I can get that he can sometimes come off as dense or insensitive but tbh I think he's just bad a picking up social cues? (oh he's just likely me for real- what do you mean i'm projecting?).
Like yeah sure Kenji very likely only sees her in a platonic sense (sorry Rio my heart goes out to you honey) but to outright assume he doesn't care about her is. raaggh.
(side note: in reload there's a dialogue from Kenji during the koromaru walks where he says "I mean, I keep telling them that we're just childhood friends, but they won't stop prying about it." and it is very likely he's talking about Rio bc this is 100% "my parents keep asking me if i'm dating my childhood friend that is also a girl" talk. Plus Kenji doesn't seem to be that close to many people so. interesting piece of info though ngl so I thought i'd mention it.)

i wish there was some sort of official alternate reality thing where we see what sonic would’ve been like had he stuck with his prototype rabbit design, though i guess the superstars skin is a good start
i remember when the earliest details for sonic prime were starting to come out people thought it was gonna be like a dimension hopping sort of show where we visit a bunch of alternate universes that already existed rather than the stuff with the paradox prism. anyway i think if we had gotten that version of the show instead then a universe where everyone is in their beta design would have been really fun to see

appreciate that the courier is (possibly; i know this is up to interpretation) a wastelander obviously but i feel like more of the tragedy of benny to me is that the acts he commits in fnv are imo intended as a fight against the assimilation of his people and their adherence to pre war aesthetics. carrying forward without him in the independent route is so. :/ . like. in order to get out from under house's thumb benny put everything on the line and went against tradition (which imo really was not a decision he made lightly at all, and i really don't think it was genuinely a selfish one, no matter how he styles himself).

I first learned the word "bogus" from Danny the Champion of the World by Roald Dahl, in which Danny warns us that if somebody smiles with their mouth but the look in their eyes doesn't change, "it's sure to be bogus." In some editions (I'm not sure if this is a US/UK thing or an updating thing) the word is replaced with "phoney," which I find less satisfying. There are just a few words where I can specifically remember what or who I learned them from; "bogus" is one and "brittle" is another (my mother explaining why I might not be able to keep the little plastic cocktail animal* that was on the rim of my milkshake glass at a restaurant forever)
In both cases, I think I initially thought of the word as just having that extremely specific meaning (the falsity of a smile that doesn't reach the eyes, the fragility of thin inflexible plastic), didn't encounter it again for some time, and when it came up again in a different context I was like "What are you doing here?"
*twas a donkey
