gonna prob reread coanda when u do the updates and stuff so ignore me if im askin smth that was already mentioned/someone already asked. but are we ever gonna get more detail on gojos past where he was sleeping around with older men? also would i be right in deducing that he did that not only as experimentation but also cause he knew he liked geto and maybe thought he was straight? like that dude from the past. lorenzo? also did? man sorry if its annoyin to ask but lmao ugh i wish we had some more of gojos past like. his innermost thoughts about suguru. i cannot imagine anything other than just lovesick pining and longing jdjd anyway love ur fic thanks a lot for sharing!
probably not. if u reread coanda i think theres a scene where gojo heavily implies he’s gay before any level of experimentation - after the kiss between him and the much older woman in europe. he doesnt say it outright, basically to give both boys some plausible deniability, but i dont think theres any part of him that is ever confused about his sexuality.
the older men are just what ends up being available. its meant to draw attention to how gojo has literally no one his own age to spend time with and the inherent exploitative nature of child athletes / young athletes being immersed in sports cultures that are at times intensely toxic. its not really about gojos sexuality, or about getous jealousy. that plot line is there to highlight, that despite getou largely holding gojo up on a pedestal and thinking he integrates well, gojo is still struggling. Even if gojo isnt aware of it himself.
gojos love for getou though is a complicated beast. id say hes semi-aware of it but willing to shove it down bc what hes got going for him is pretty good. hes willing to hide One Thing to keep racing with his teammate, and stay friends, and maybe when theyre done racing they can have each other. then we get into 2013/2014 and he thinks getou hates him and hes just desperstely trying to scrape together their friendship.
lorenzo is a plot device more so than a character, designed to showcase a) gojo’s childish jealousy b) getous relative skill level and struggles in the sport and c) the difficulty of being queer in this particular sport, and in general. the scene with him in 2014 has been planned for a while, meant to showcase the choices that getou has made for his career thinking it was the only way… only for it not to be the only way. theres no details on who lorenzo was sleeping with but he is older than gojo and getou (getou was 17 in the GREC, he was in his early twenties, probably 21-22)
:3
im going to write some alt pov stuff eventually, so maybe itll be expanded upon but heres the official authors notes

Ch. 9 - Fatigue
The two continued to sit in silence, time passing by slowly. The fatigue both felt was real as the early morning hours began to creep up on them. It was incredibly difficult to fight sleep with no forms of entertainment but making shapes out of the specks on the ceiling tiles.
Nanami allowed his eyes to rest briefly, head against the wall and feet still extended in front of him. He took in a deep breath as if to meditate and clear his mind. He was startled when he felt pressure on his shoulder, opening his eyes and looking toward said shoulder only to find Gojo leaning against him - eyes closed and mouth slightly hung open. He contemplated waking him. He was supposed to be guarding after all but he figured if he did Gojo'd go back to talking or being annoying in some form or fashion. Instead, he chose to suck it up.
"I don't get why you two are here," Gojo yawned, not having been asleep at all. His head remained on Nanami's shoulder. His voice caused Nanami to tense seeing as he did think that he was completely unconscious. "This is a pretty dangerous mission, even though it doesn't seem like it right now. I mean, if Geto and I weren't as powerful - no way would it make sense to send first and second years here."
"I said the same thing," Nanami mumbled, "luckily Haibara and I didn't see any curse users during our patrols."
"That's good. We've also had a relatively easy time, just a few nuisances that were pretty easy to take out." Gojo sat up at this point. "We're almost done. But I have a weird feeling in my gut..."
"You think something's going to happen?" Nanami inquired and Gojo simply nodded.
"I mean, I have to assume everything's gonna' be okay. I'm me after all."
"Doesn't mean bad things can't happen to you. It wouldn't hurt for you to be more vigilant sometimes," Nanami offered genuine advice.
"Right..." Gojo's voice trailed off. "Hey...it's getting to be about two AM. We should switch. I'll wait here while you get Haibara."
"Sure," Nanami came to a stand, feeling the pain in his ass from sitting on the hard floor.
He entered his bedroom and after a few minutes Haibara emerged.
"Hey Gojo!" He replied happily though still sleepy. He rubbed his eyes until he felt a bit more awake.
"Hey, I'm gonna' go get Geto now," Gojo stood, "one sec."

Gojo entered the bedroom where he found Geto lying on his stomach in the dark, head turned to the one side with his hair down and no shirt. Gojo could clearly see the peaceful way his back rose and fell with each slow breath. He's completely out, Gojo thought to himself with a little smile. He walked over to the side of the bed and crouched to Geto's level. Peaceful was the smallest way to describe how Geto looked with his eyes relaxed shut, hair slightly a mess and falling in his face. Gojo's smile grew a bit more at the sight, bringing his hand up a brushing Geto's cheek until those few silky soft, stray hairs settled behind his ear. Geto lightly stirred to the touch but remained asleep. Gojo stared for a few more moments, watching how Geto's eyelids moved the smallest bit with whatever dream he was having. Eventually he gave in, leaning forward on his toes to leave a lingering kiss on Geto's forehead and then coming to a stand.

"Hey...thought you were getting Geto?" Haibara looked up at Gojo from the floor, eyes following his body as he sat down again.
"Yeah," Gojo smiled, "couldn't bring myself to wake him." He gave a single, quiet laugh.
"That's nice of you," Haibara smiled back, looking down at the hotel notepad and pen he brought out - doodling away. "You sure you'll be okay for tomorrow?"
"You came prepared," Gojo ignored Haibara's question and leaned sideways to look at what he was drawing. "Nanami and I were sitting out here bored out of our minds!"
"Oh! Well...wanna' okay hangman then?" Haibara offered.
"Hell yeah, I do!" Gojo said, a little too loud for comfort.

The next morning at eight the group began their way back to TJH. Considering Nanami and Haibara were separate, they decided to spend some extra time wandering around Okinawa while Gojo and Geto finished their mission - warping back to the school much to Gojo's fatigue. His abilities weren't as strong thanks to his lack of sleep, something he and Geto lightly spat about though Geto appreciated the gesture.
"We can take it easy for a bit now," Geto told the girls, "we're inside Jujutsu High's barrier.
"What a relief!" Amanai exclaimed.
"Yes..." Kuroi closed her eyes from the relief with a tiny smile.
Gojo looked completely exhausted, staring at Geto though in his head he wasn't home - he was completely disassociating from the fatigue.
"Satoru," Geto smiled, "thanks for your hard work."
"No more," he groaned sleepily, "no more babysitting!" He complained as the eyes on him grew wide, a disgustingly brutal sloshing sound suddenly occurring. "What?" Gojo had no idea yet, having very little attention to go around.
"Impossible..." Geto whispered as Gojo looked down to find a katana had completely gone through him, a menacing figure behind him.
"Do I...know you from somewhere?" Gojo strained while looking down and back at the ominous person with a devilish smile and scar down his lip.
"Don't sweat it," he said casually, "I'm not one to remember some dude's name either."
The next happenings occurred quickly, Geto releasing a cursed spirit to go after the assassin. Unfortunately, he was quick and reacted in time. He was at least preoccupied for a moment.
"Satoru!" Geto cried out as he checked up on Gojo.
"It's fine!" Gojo put his hand up. "My cursed technique didn't make it in time, but he didn't hit any vital organs. Like a safety pin going through a knitted sweater." He tried his best to stand despite the pain, already working on healing himself as best as he could with the reverse technique. Geto made a face of disbelief. "Really, I'm fine. Amanai's the priority. I'll take care of this. Hurry on to Master Tengen's place."
"Don't let your guard down," Geto scolded as he began to run with the girls.
"Who'd you think you're talkin' to?" Gojo smiled wickedly.
Tumblr media
"Master Riko..." Kuroi stopped in her tracks as she, Amanai, and Geto made their way into the corridor. "This is as far as I go... Master Riko...please take-" She was beginning to cry as the young girl dashed into her arms.
"Kuroi!" Amanai cried. "I love you! Always! Now and forever!"
"I love you, too!"
After a tearful goodbye, Amanai continued down the path with Geto.
Tumblr media
"Is this..." Amanai trailed off.
"Yes," Geto answered her a bit blankly, his mind preoccupied with Gojo, "we're just outside of where Master Tengen resides. This is the country's base for primary barriers. The main hall of the tombs of the star..." Geto then explained her next steps...and offered her a decision. "Satoru and I came to a decision before we met you. If the kid who is the star plasma vessel should refuse the merger then we call it off. No matter what you choose, we promise to protect your future."
"I..." the girl was stunned and suddenly stuck in thought. She verbally reasoned with herself before finally coming to a decision. "I want to be with everyone more!" She cried. "I want to go to more places and see more things with everyone!
"Riko..." Geto reached out his hand. Just as she was about to accept with a smile, a single shot rang out - her body crumpling to the ground. "Riko?"
"All right, good show! Time to wrap things up!" The assassin appeared in the doorway.
"Why...?" Geto's eyes widened, fearing the worst. "Why are you here?"
"Why?" The man asked with a raised eyebrow, not getting what he was asking. "Oh! Gotcha!" He finally understood what Geto was specifically asking. "I killed Gojo Satoru."
"I see..." Geto tried to hold back his sorrow, instead taking a stance and unleashing a large cursed spirit. "Then die!"
The man stood by as the spirit emerged, beginning to explain how he was able to go about killing Gojo. Just as the dragon spirit Geto released came after the man, he lifted his pistol once more.
"Whoa, slow down," he chuckled, firing some bullets straight into its open mouth and through its skull. "Let me continue!" Geto stood by in horror as he spoke, the man lifted a hand to his mouth. "I've got this cursed spirit that can store objects. I use it to carry cursed tools. Now I know what you're thinking.  Shouldn't the cursed energy from the spirit make him no longer invisible?" He coughed up the spirit and held it in his palm. It began to unwind and grow.  "The spirit shrinks my storing its body. Then I invest it and keep it in my stomach. An invisible man should have invisible guts, right?" He continued speaking as Geto continued to stare with a horrified look.
Geto did the one thing he could think of in the midst of shock: release a spirit with an innate domain. While he was trapped, Geto dashed away to check on the dragon he released. He somehow sliced right through its hardened skin. And as expected, the assassin was able to escape the domain.
"There should've been one more lady along the way. Where is she?" Geto asked with hostility.
"Huh?" He scratched his head. "Oh, you mean the maid. Probably dead. I didn't care whether she lived or not. If she's lucky she survived," he mumbled, rolling his eyes.
"That settles it," Geto had a crazed look in his eye as the dragon began to stir, going after the murderer once more. "Die!" He yelled again.
Geto continued to come at him with attacks, even attempting to absorb the cursed spirit that hung around his neck. Unfortunately this guy was quick, being able to retaliate and give a nice slice across Geto's chest with the katana that the spirit coughed up. Geto had clearly been defeated...
"You'll be fine since you're a sorcerer," the man stood over his body. Geto was trying to stay conscious through the pain. "I woulda' killed you if you were a shikigami user, but since you're a curse manipulator I dunno' what'll happen to the curses you've taken in if you die. I'd rather avoid the trouble for now. Be sure to thank your parents." The man scoffed and kicked Geto in the head. "But you guys..." he chuckled, "with all your blessings...lost to a monkey like me who can't even use jujutsu."
