I'm getting over my aversion to drawing simple character portraits. I've been getting so caught up in making sure every peice has some kind of plot to it that I've been neglecting to draw characters just because I've not gotten around to thier plotline yet. So I've decided that if it looks cool when someone else does it, it'll look cool when I do it, and I drew just a normal drawing of Julian. I added some background elements, but it looks cool and adds to the atmosphere. But I made a story anyway. =°•.🌹 Story 🌹.•°=
°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•🌹•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*° Julian sung a lyricless tune to himself as he danced around his darkroom. Photographs hung on washing lines that spanned across the room, turning it into a spiders web of photographs. The only light source came from a set of dim red fairy lights strung up across the walls. Despite his blindness in one eye and the dim lighting, Julian navigated the room with grace as he plucked photographs out of the developing fluid and pegged them onto free space on the web of washing lines. This was his room, his territory, and he knew exactly what he was doing. Once the spoils from his most recent outing were all hung up to dry, he remembered how he took these photographs in the first place. Ancient animatronics festering in old back rooms were the easy shots. All he had to do was get in and find them. Getting to see them walk around was more dangerous, but it was so rewarding. Sometimes, he'd go to a franchise that was capitalising off of Freddy's bad reputation, trying to pull off the art of animatronic performers, but they all ended the same way Fazbear's did, and Julian was always there to capture the downfall in individual images, frozen in time. The fear from finding out the suits are haunted. The attacks the animatronics would make. The sadness of those related to the ones that were lost this time. Sometimes, Julian would put himself in danger just to get a good and intimidating photo of particularly reputation ruining bots, and it was better him than some random who didn't know what they were doing anyway. If that's what his dad and his mate's justification for staying at one of those places for so long was, he could use the same excuse. Over the years, Julian had collected many scars that complimented the scratches over his eye. Each scar told as much of a story as each photograph he took, and his most recent was one he was quite proud of. For his most recent collection, he had decided to take a night shift himself at a restaurant that was roumored to be haunted, and knowing that the place wouldn't last more than a week, he had an easy way out of this part time night shift. Whilst the animatronics stalked him, he took photograph after photograph. He stole glimpses at the bodies inside the suits, and broken machinery that moved, and ghosts wandering the halls. Each of these were caught on his trusty camera. Photographs that would be used to bring justice and closure for those who have lost and have been lost. With a slight chuckle, he thought to himself "I'm not doing that bad for a rookie!" He had always found it funny that whenever people saw him at his day job, they'd question how someone of his young age - he was bearly an adult - could possibly be able to work amongst elites of crime scene photography? How did someone so young have the skills to take photographs of crime scenes? What people didn't think to realise was that his skill was from years of macabre practice. What people also didn't know about him was how exactly macabre his personal training in this field was; he had honed his skills to the point at where the station would take him on for such delicate work usually reserved for veterans of the job by putting himself through the ordeal of observing the aftermath of vile scenes; a thing that comes part and parcel with hunting ghosts. Well, many people didn't know about that night job of his anyway. The aforementioned one where he hunted down and took photographs of supernatural entities. So this was to be expected. All his day job photos were digital and processed at work. But all the photos in his darkroom were his own night work. The more evidence based ones would be sent in as an anonymous tip, but the more dynamic ones where the animatronics would be showing their teeth or lunging at him would be shared online under the pseudonym "LittleRedPhotographer" - a reference to the story of little red riding hood. He would show others his findings, but not too much as to not become too notorious. Only the 'clean' photographs would be shared under his pseudonym, so no corpses, only the ghosts themselves, and nothing that would make people ask too many questions. Sometimes, too much attention was a bad thing, and when taking photographs of ghosts, taking believable photographs that toe the line between safe and vile was a tough job, but Julian executed the task with elegance and precision. He looked around at his most recent collection and begun to rearrange them on the line, figuring out which ones were evidence based, which ones were fun, and which were better left for his personal collection. Looking at a photo that had been on the line for a while, he recalled last week's work: an investigation sparked by his own anonymous tip. The scene of a triple homicide, the use of spring lock suits to hold the bodies, and the suits failing due to the bodily fluids. Many other photographers had had to dip out before the visions of the scene permanently burned its way into thier minds, but Julian was able to stay there all day. It wasn't unusual for someone who grew up around the dead and undead to be this desensitised to gore, but to an outsider, sometimes his guts and confidence in the face of the most grotesque scenes would get him mistook for a professional - something he didn't mind, even though he was still a little wet around the ears regarding more professional shots. His mentors would aid him in what to take photographs of and a vauge guide on what angles to use, and Julian would put his own spin on things, his iron stomach and steel will carrying him through the long days, letting him get closer to the corpses than any of the others dared to in order to take more detailed photographs. Besides, he had already been here to sneak photos from the outside, so it's not like the scene was new and shocking anymore. It was only now he was able to see the finer details of the grizzly innards of this location, so he may as well make the most of it. His attention turned back to a photograph of interest. That dramatic photograph of the view from outside the saferoom window that was still on the washing line despite having been dried for over a week. It's not that he didn't want to put it away; he just couldn't be bothered to find out where it should go. Was it tasteful enough for his blog, or was it destined for the shoebox. Gently plucking the photograph off the line and sitting down on his bed, he studied the photograph. As he assessed the shadows of the photograph, he determined that it was alright to share. Only the back of the suit was visible, and the blood had pooled out of frame, so it was tasteful enough, but it wasn't boring either. He decided he'd make the final decision on that tomorrow. Because today, he was processing a new batch of photos. Photos took at yet another location. He had to sneak in to the long abandoned building and had gotten some amazing photographs of animatronics charging at him and stalking the halls. He sometimes wondered what would happen if he stayed around the same animatronics for too long. Would he wind up like his dad with the animatronics trying to use him, or would these animatronics not care for who someone really was and just kill him. Besides, it was better to not get caught than wonder what would happen if you did. °*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•🌹•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°

You must be so sick of alpha and Fordo asks but you’re latest fic has given me angst potential- maybe a one-shot with alpha working with the bad batch to find Fordo post order 66 an him just breaking at the seams when he finds his Vod because he thought he lost Frodo like he lost Sev. Tears and man hugs ensue
Oh I am NEVER sick of Alpha and Fordo asks - they’re such a fun chaotic duo to write for. :D Also, Alpha working with the Bad Batch is something I never knew I needed until I saw your ask and I would absolutely write something with all of them again. I cannot express how difficult it was to not go off on a tangent about Hunter.
In true Sev style, I chose Kashyyyk as the main location for this one. It’s just so useful for these kinds of things.
Also. Y’all. I did not realize until I was four pages into this that I forgot Echo. So uh... whoops?  😅 😂 With that in mind, let me warn you that this is WAY longer than the other fics. I have no idea what happened. I have no idea what I’m doing.
Also also, thank goodness for Wookiepedia lmao

“Captain.” The sergeant keeps his distance even now, face inscrutable as he surveys Alpha.
“Alpha,” he corrects half-heartedly, more for the sergeant’s sake than his own.
“Alpha,” Hunter amends. “We’ll be entering the Mid Rim soon - maybe an hour, hour and a half tops.”
“Good to know.” Alpha knows he sounds despondent at best, but he’s hit enough dead ends by now to know all too well this will likely be a fruitless endeavor. There’s nowhere in the galaxy safe from him - not when his brother’s life is hanging in balance.
But it’s a big galaxy, with little regard for individual yearning or emotion. Alpha can vow to upend the galaxy as much as he likes, but the fact is they’ve only so much time, and only so many resources, and...
And maybe Hunter picks up on that, in that way of his as he observes Alpha without further comment. The sergeant is as much his vod as anyone else Alpha has encountered. Still beyond him sometimes, a little too other for Alpha to ever fully mesh with him or his brothers, but he’s a good soldier. A good man.
“We’ve always got room for another,” are Hunter’s parting words as he makes his way back to the cockpit.
If you find out your brother was dead all along.
Alpha doubts it was anything less than a genuine offer, but it isn’t the only route. Not until I’ve exhausted every other option. And even then....
It doesn’t do, to let himself become so intertwined with a brother until he isn’t entirely sure he knows who he is without the other. He’d tried, both for his brothers and for his own peace of mind, to put a stop to it before it went too far. And maybe that was Jango getting in his head more than Alpha ever should have allowed, but he’d thought it was the right thing to do.
Sometimes I can’t help but wonder...

“ - you know as well as I do we’ve been going in circles for weeks now - ”
“Yeah, you might’ve mentioned that once or twice…”
“You said it yourself - we’ll get ourselves killed if we aren’t careful.”
“So we’ll be careful.” Hunter’s voice holds a note of finality. “We can keep rehashing this conversation, or we can help a vod.”
Alpha doesn’t catch the muttered reply, but it’s hardly amenable, if Hunter’s sigh is anything to go by. He can’t blame them, really - Fordo isn’t their brother, and outside of combat they’ve little common ground. And it’s only natural for Crosshair to raise the questions none of them are yet ready to face. Alpha thinks he could learn to like the man, given time.
He reigns in his thoughts before entering the cockpit. The least he can do is put on a rational front. This whole thing isn’t at all rational, but the Bad Batch seem to understand better than others. It runs deeper than brotherhood here, whatever it is, and Alpha is irrepressibly reminded of Fordo, somehow -
(And osik, does that thought burn, dig under his skin to remind him once again that he failed, that should he redeem himself it will be not on his terms but likely an inconsequential whim of a galaxy that cares nothing for them or everything they’ve fought so hard to hold on to - )
“Y’know, I’m not sure we’ve ever been to Kashyyyk,” Wrecker muses. “That’s a first.”  If he’s trying to divert Alpha’s attention from Crosshair, it’s a skillful effort that almost takes Alpha aback. “‘Course, I only remember the fun parts,” he adds as an impish afterthought.
“Anything with explosives, you mean?” Alpha asks drily.
Wrecker grins. “Something like that.”
You and Fordo would get along fine.
What leaves his mouth is, “I don’t suppose anyone has any relevant information about this place?”
Right on cue, Tech pipes up from his position alongside Crosshair. “Actually…”
Tech is just as much of an efficient distraction in his own right. It’s not exactly the height of strategy on Alpha’s part, but once again it redirects attention. He has no doubt Hunter sees right through it; still, the man has enough tact to refrain from commenting.
You understand, I think, Alpha decides, watching exasperation and amusement play across Hunter’s face in turns as his brothers’ bickering fills the cockpit. You would go to hell and back for them, wouldn’t you, Sergeant?
Hunter casts him a wary glance. Alpha holds his gaze.
There’s too much we can’t say. It’s okay, vod - I think I’m starting to understand too.
________________________
Kashyyyk is dishearteningly vast, all sprawling jungles and endless island chains set on a swath of ocean that dissects the planet’s hemispheres. Getting in was no easy task, what with the Imperial blockade cutting off the planet from others in its sector. But Tech’s adroit piloting had come through, and they’d slipped past the blockade with little disturbance.
“You really think your buddy is here?” Crosshair asks dubiously, surveying the area with a distinct air of displeasure.
“I’ve seen the records,” Alpha says, as much to reassure himself as the other man. “The Empire’s tighter with the book-keeping, I’ll give them that. Fordo’s unit lost contact not long before Order Sixty-six went down. If they made it out, it would be on record somewhere.”
“And if they didn’t?”
Alpha battles his temper into submission before replying. “Then they would be confirmed KIA. But they’re still listed as missing as of two weeks ago.”
“Sounds like you’re leaving an awful lot to chance,” Crosshair opines. There isn’t malice in his voice so much as an unmistakable note of disapproval. “What’s your plan if it turns out they were just waiting for reinforcements and pulled out days ago? That leaves us here in the heart of Imperial occupation.”
“I haven’t forgotten,” Alpha says grimly. “But if they lost comms before the order came through, then there’s a chance they aren’t with the Empire. Their main focus would be survival, not falling in line nice and neat like Palpatine expects.”
It’s clear there are a number of objections rising to the forefront of Crosshair’s mind, but the man keeps them to himself. There’s a conflict brewing there, Alpha knows, but that’s a matter to address at another time.
“There’s an area south of here where all comm signals go dead,” Tech announces, tapping furiously at the device mounted on his vambrace. “According to intel, the Wookies call it the Black Forest.”
“Sounds inviting,” Hunter says. “What’s the deal with it?”
“A prison ship crashed there centuries ago,” Tech relays. “The Wookies believe it’s cursed, so they avoid it whenever possible. It’s possible Fordo and whoever was left were driven back by the Seps - or it was a desperate bid and he was banking on the droids not following somewhere they can’t maneuver well. But why cut himself off from allies…?”
“The forward operating base was set up in Kachirho,” Alpha muses aloud “There was another commando squad deployed here, but they were retasked shortly after Order Sixty-six. If Fordo’s here, I doubt he would hang around anywhere with high Imperial activity.”
If he were operating alone, the decision would be simple. But he has the welfare of four other men to consider now; one wrong move, and they’ll all end up on the business end of a blaster.
With that in mind, Alpha looks to Hunter. “Sergeant. What do you think?”
“It’s your call,” Hunter answers. “If you have reason to think your brother is hiding out here, then I think it’s worth taking a look. So long as we go careful, I don’t see why the Imperials should notice us.”
Wrecker’s chuckle fills the comms. “Famous last words.”
_________________________
For all that they have a reputation for being unorthodox - a reputation that is doubtless justly earned - the Bad Batch can pull off stealth pretty well, too. It comes as a bit of a surprise, if Alpha is being honest, but if nothing else the overarching threat of Hunter’s wrath is enough to keep them in line.
“Keep an eye out for slavers,” Tech warns. “The whole planet has been a hotspot for them ever since the CIS first let them in.”
It’d be just our luck to run into slavers, Alpha thinks wryly. Individually they’re not much of a threat, but a group of Trandoshans spells trouble for anyone. Even without the training to back it up, their brutality can overpower even an ARC trooper. ‘Course, it’d be just like you to get into a mess like that, Fordo…
“We’ll be a bigger target if we travel as a group,” Hunter says.
“If we split up we might as well ask for a death sentence,” Alpha cautions. Typically his first choice would be to operate alone, but between the slavers, the Imperials, and the remnants of the Separatist forces, he’s starting to think their strength might lie in numbers this time.
Alpha mulls it over. Greater numbers means slower going. If we split up, we’ll be able to cover more ground. It’ll be risky, but - payoff is worth it.
“We’ll move faster this way,” Hunter says, echoing Alpha’s thoughts. “Wrecker, Tech, you’re with me. Cross…” He fixes his brother with a stern stare. “Don’t do anything stupid. Alpha has my full permission to stop you by any means necessary.”
Alpha rewards the sergeant with a wolfish grin. “I’ll hold you to that.”
He can’t read Crosshair half as well as the others, but the sniper doesn’t appear altogether displeased. He merely shrugs when Alpha jerks his head towards the route they’ll be following, and trails after him without argument.
Silence lays thick over the jungle. There’s an odd rustle here and there, interspersed with faint growls from time to time, but progress is relatively smooth. Alpha takes pains to remain on guard; just because he can’t see a threat doesn’t mean they’re in the clear.
Before long the silence is disconcerting. Given the planet’s Wookie population, there should be regular movement around them, or some sign of existence. But this stretch of the jungle is oddly lacking.
“This doesn’t feel right,” Crosshair mutters.
“Guess no one’s home,” Alpha answers absently, scrutizining the terrain. “Look - there’s no sign of a fight. Maybe no one was here to begin with.”
“Kachirho isn’t too far from here,” Crosshair points out. “You don’t think it’s a little odd that this path hasn’t been used at all?”
“It is,” Alpha allows, “but look at it this way. We’re traveling the way we’ve been trained to in this kind of setting. The Wookies probably have their own methods for getting around.”
“It’s still weird,” Crosshair decides. “And if your brother really was here, we’d have found evidence of that, too.”
He isn’t wrong, but it nonetheless stings to hear the man voice the doubtful thoughts that have been creeping up on Alpha. Still, we’ve come this far. What have we got to lose?
(More than he’s willing to surrender. But Crosshair doesn’t need to know that.)
“Let’s keep moving,” Alpha says, sharper than he intends.
“Hang on,” Crosshair says suddenly. “Contact - ”
Alpha pivots in time to see a Trandoshan emerge from the surrounding foliage. The lizard is taller and more solid than he previously anticipated; instead of hitting it head-on like he initially planned, Alpha redirects in order to avoid being gutted on the lizard’s knife.
He hears the shot and the telltale thump of the lizard falling to the ground. As Alpha picks himself up, Crosshair scans the area through the scope of his rifle.
“Oh, shab,” the sniper hisses.
It doesn’t take long for Alpha to locate the cause of Crosshair’s disgruntlement. A group of Trandoshans lurches towards them. Alpha does a rapid assessment: each lizard is packing some sort of ranged weapon - including slugthrowers, he notes unenthusiastically - and most are carrying an assortment of knives.
“Ideas?” Crosshair asks tersely.
“They’ll just follow us if we run,” Alpha says. “It’ll save us trouble in the long run if we take them now.”
“I can see why Hunter likes you,” Crosshair says, oddly nonchalant considering the circumstances, and fires.
With Crosshair covering ranged attacks, Alpha elects the more up-close-and-personal option. The slavers have the advantage of size, but Trandoshans aren’t renowned for their intelligence. As long as he stays in motion the risk of having his throat slit is greatly reduced.
Alpha targets a straggler first. He hits low, knocking the lizard off balance and sending it staggering into another. The other makes a grab for him, but Alpha is already ramming his vibroblade into the first slaver’s exposed neck. Using the limp body as a buffer, Alpha pushes against the other lizard, trying to force it onto its back foot.
Just as he feels his opponent’s defense start to give, another three descend on him. Cursing, Alpha throws himself aside before they can hem him in. One of the slavers has enough presence of mind to bring his knife down on Alpha’s unprotected back; the force of the blow has him crashing to the ground.
Alpha scrambles for a foothold, but one of the lizards seizes his leg in a vicelike grip. He writhes instinctively, kicking out with his other foot. He feels the impact more than sees it and wrenches himself free.
Just as a third lizard fills the other’s place, there’s a crack from Crosshair’s rifle, and the lizard topples. Alpha springs to his feet to avoid being crushed by several hundred kilos of Trandoshan. The others are wary now, trying to divide their attention between him and Crosshair.
Alpha doesn’t give them time to choose. This time he uses his blaster to put a round through the closest target. It’s not quite enough to put the lizard out of commission entirely, so he follows up with a quick succession of bolts.
It’s not exactly an even match, but things aren’t going as badly as he first feared, Alpha thinks. No sooner does the thought cross his mind than his helmet flashes a warning. He turns to deflect the attack coming from behind, but he moves too late and steps directly into the strike.
The slaver’s curved knife skids off Alpha’s breastplate and sinks into his bodysuit in the gap between the cuirass and the shoulder bell. Alpha manages to pull away, but not before the knife catches the underside of his arm and slices a gash halfway down his bicep.
A line of pain sears through his arm. There’s no doubt the Trandoshan cut deep into the muscle. That arm is effectively useless now; Alpha grimly switches his knife to the other hand.
He doesn’t have eyes on Crosshair from his current position, but the rasping breaths and occasional curses over the comms suggest the sniper isn’t having an easy time of it either. Time to fall back and reassess.
“Let’s pull back. We might be able to lose them.” Alpha bites the inside of his cheek to suppress a hiss of pain when his wounded arm is jostled. “We can’t take them now, at any rate.”
“You might want to rethink that, alor’ad…”
Crosshair jerks his head to indicate the slavers pouring into the area. There’s a slim chance they’ll be able to slip by, but not without risking serious injury. Slowing down to accommodate a bad hit would mean certain death or capture.
Pinned down. Shabla brilliant.
Alpha makes an effort to keep his rapidly rising alarm in check. “We’ll have to hold them off, then.”
“There’s no way,” Crosshair objects. “We’re outnumbered eight to one.”
Alpha sends a slaver sprawling rather than answer. He can see it as plainly as Crosshair, but he’s not going to lay down and die, not when his brother is still out there somewhere, not when there’s still a chance they could pull this off -
He hasn’t been this close in weeks and it isn’t his place to gamble anyone else’s life but his own, but even now he can’t bring himself to give in and he understands in a sudden flash of clarity that this is where he will always fail - because he has a foothold, now, and even though all logic points to turning back for once he can’t give in -
An arm clamps around his neck. Alpha thrashes, trying to throw his attacker off, but now that he’s been caught off guard the lizard has an advantage. His vision begins to blur at the edges and he redoubles his efforts, fueled in no small part by panic at being unable to draw breath.
He doesn’t know where Crosshair is anymore. He can hardly see beyond his own hands, scrabbling desperately at the arm locked around his neck.
No sooner does his vision begin to fade than the crushing pressure on his neck abruptly loosens. Alpha hits the ground gracelessly, coughing violently as he tries to inhale. His breath rattles in his throat, but his vision gradually returns.
He lurches to his feet and assumes a defensive stance as best he can. He’s lost track of how many slavers are still standing - too many is his best estimate.
But the man standing before him isn’t an enemy. He’s -
“Vod,” Fordo says softly.
Alpha can only stare at his brother in stunned silence, momentarily deaf to the ongoing struggle around them. Fordo....
“Later,” his brother promises.
______________________
“So how’d you end up running with them?” Fordo asks with a nod towards the Bad Batch.
“It’s complicated,” Alpha says lightly. “Too much to unpack now, at any rate.”
Fordo laughs. He’s battered and weary, with something lurking in his gaze Alpha can’t quite decipher yet, but it’s Fordo, and that’s more than enough.
“It’s quiet here,” Fordo remarks. “I like that.”
“‘S nice,” Alpha agrees.
They’re still hovering just above the surface. Tentative. It’s not exactly what Alpha is accustomed to, but for Fordo’s sake he lets his brother take the lead.
“Everything’s gone sideways, hasn’t it,” Fordo says suddenly.
“It has,” Alpha admits. There’s no use pretending otherwise. “But we’ll find a way through.”
Fordo flashes a small smile. “You’re good at that.”
Alpha merely shrugs. There’s a thousand other things he wants to say, but he hasn’t the faintest clue where to begin. Finally he ventures carefully, “Y’know, for a while now I thought this mission did you in.”
Fordo lets out a long sigh. “I was starting to think it might, myself.”
“I…” Alpha breaks off, startled by the sudden pressure behind his eyes. It worsens when he tries to continue. “I don’t know what I would’ve - ”
He falters again. I care more than I should. I never should’ve let that happen, but even now I don’t know if I regret it.
“Alpha,” Fordo says softly, and pulls him into an embrace.
Alpha doesn’t know how much time passes before he finally disentangles himself from Fordo as gently as he can and scrubs at the hot trails on his face. He can’t quite bring himself to feel any shame over it. He’s never been given to such displays, but… Fordo is his vod.
“So what’s the plan, alor’ad?” Fordo asks with a familiar note of mischief in his voice.
Alpha smiles despite himself. “It’s a big galaxy.”
“We’ve got time.”
“Yeah,” Alpha laughs. “We have time.”

Note
So i got another fic idea in my head The dates are very important. 1 (May 1998) Percy was a Ministry spy and he worked closely with Albus. He saved a lot of lives no matter their blood or if they were creatures. And at the battle of Hogwarts he saves Freds life but hes in crit condition George is a total ass (He's angry and takes it out on Percy) going off at him saying nasty things along the lines of that Percy isn't welcome at the Weasley home anymore.
2 When he tries to go to the House to talk to them he's not treated very well ("Dont wanna hear excuses Percy"). He just give up, packs his things in his flat, & the next morning he goes, gives his mission reports that date from the start of his Ministry career along with his resignation letter on Shacklebot's desk. Then he's off to America to start over he snuck into Freds hospital room & used Snapes healing charms as a way to 'set things right' before leaving.
3. Percy is now in New York, gets a job, and then spends the next 6 months working diligently and whatnot. Then he meets Audrey Smith, they end up going on a few dates and she introduces Percy to her local gym and they become gym buddies and soon start dating. (Aug 2000) After 2 years together (They're married) Percy and Audrey find out they're expecting. And then the twins are born on the 2nd of May 2001. Percy laughs a bit as Audrey pats him the shoulder and says "They sure chose the date"
4. Sep 11 2001) Audrey dies in the 9/11 attack (she was a muggle) & Percy is left a widow with 2 daughters to look after. (June 2002) He bumps into Oliver who's on a quidditch training exchange. They catch up. (Oliver doesn't bring up the fact that Percy's fam has been looking for him for years and that he's saved so many lives) As December rolls around Oliver spends it at Percy's, meeting the kids and hearing Percy tell him everything (His wife, his family and the war)
(I think this is part 5? Idk its 2am here) (Jan - May) They spend a lot of time together after Xmas and slowly Percy begins to heal a bit more after Audrey's death. Oliver ends up going back to the UK and Percy misses him. (July) Oliver comes back with news that he's transferred to an NY team "They might not be big on Quidditch here but they're extremely good, Perce" (Its not because Oliver has been inlove with Percy since Hogwarts. Neither is it because he loves Molly & Lucy to death either)
6 (Feb 2004) The UK Papers get a picture of Oliver, Percy the twins out and it BLOWS UP. Charlie (The only one who even heard Percy out back after the war ended, He knows the others did wrong by him) floos in and then warns Percy about everyone knowing he's here and that they're gonna be coming in 2 days. So He ends up having Charlie take the girls. He ends up meeting with his fam and it takes a long long time for them to heal and fix things.
7. His Fam only get to meet Molly and Lucy when they're 6. When they're 7 he and Oliver gets married. Idk why but i seem to only send you these fic ideas when im hella tired and at 2am. T_T Why am i like this? So Audrey named Molly and Perce named Lucy (After each others moms)
 Honestly, What can I say at this point? You have the whole story thought out. Go for it and write it!
It’s not the kind of story I write, though. But since you dropped the materials here, I can share how I would assemble it.
I would avoid New York. Big cities have a character. They are characters and you have to treat them as such. In Life skills, London is a character, complex and big and hard and beautiful. In Secret language of plants, even though Draco and Harry end up in London, I had them stay in the house because London was too big of a character for that stage of the story.
So, no New York. If I had to use a well-known city I would go with Boston, I think. Otherwise, a small one with a nice name.
Audrey doesn’t die on 9/11. Well, she dies on that day, but not on the attack. It’s something as simple and dull as a traffic accident. Percy wasn’t with her, not that it would have mattered. Yes, wizards have potions to mend bones instantly and protective charms and spells to stop the momentum, but Audrey died instantly, and no one could have seen the car until it was on her.
The driver was an old man, fumbling with that new invention, a mobile phone, trying to call his daughter who worked in New York.
Magic Law on the States is a bit… over the place. It would be extremely simple to put a curse or a hex that man. If Percy was clever about it, it wouldn’t be too illegal. But he doesn’t. Percy realizes it wouldn’t make him feel better.
 Percy doesn’t particularly like the States. The tea is terrible, the coffee is weak, the spelling is painful and people are entirely too talkative. But it’s sunnier than England and the orange juice is good, so he stays.
He goes to Romania every summer to visit Charlie. The girls love it there and it was always easy to talk to Charlie. Charlie who had such a promising career in Quidditch and rejected the fame and fortune for a thankless career working with dragons. Not even training dragons for bank security, which is a cool and profitable career, but fighting that very same use.
Charlie only goes back home for a week during Christmas, so he gets it. They don’t have to talk about it, never mention that weird state of loving your family and not wanting to be with them, to fight, to have to explain and justify your very existence and your life decisions.
He meets Oliver in Romania. Supposedly Oliver is there to see the sights and rest his left shoulder, that was injured at the end of the league. But he is not the first Quidditch player who has a crisis of faith and comes to Charlie with questions. So far, none of them had taken up dragon-protection, but one became a broomstick racer and another is the head coach of an Italian team.
Charlie only thinks about dragons. Oliver only thinks about Quidditch and is in the middle of an existential crisis. So it’s perfectible understandable that the topic of Percy, his war heroics and his semi mythical status is never brought up. To be fair, Charlie doesn’t know much about it because he doesn’t read English newspapers and his family never talks about Percy when he is around. Oliver just thinks that Percy is the first Competent Adult he has ever met and is much more interested about this Figuring Life Out than any hero status.
So it’s fair to say that the headlines come as a surprise.
Someone snapped a picture of Oliver and Percy sitting very close together in a park, with twin stupid loving smiles. It was all perfectly innocent. Molly was doing something cute out of frame and they never kept any physical distance between themselves, not even in Hogwarts. But it doesn’t matter. The picture is sold as proof of the mysterious war hero and the dashing sport star carrying a secret love affair. It’s a beautiful story, powerful. Percy is the tragic handsome hero and Oliver the right person to bring love back in his life after years nursing the wounds of war. Or perhaps Oliver is the sweet and honest good boy, the boyfriend every mother wants for her daughter, seduced by the man living a life of exotic and daring adventures.
Whatever it is, the world wants to believe in it. So much so that bloody Draco Malfoy pops up to warn them that there is a dozen of rabid, ruthless, paparazzies coming their way. He knows because Malfoy owns the most read magazine in England and has put a bounty on a photo of the two of them kissing.
Paparazzies don’t have a concept of trespassing, but breaking and entering into a dragon reserve has certain difficulties that can’t be bypassed with an alohomora and a lack of morals. Percy and Oliver spend the rest of the month in the reserve, not daring to go out. Twenty-two days in each other’s company, hiking in the mountains and playing with the girls. Molly and Lucy have decided that Oliver is similar to Charlie in all the right ways, so they like him.
On day nineteen, they kiss. Someone gets a picture of it, but, in his excitement, the photographer wanders into a nest of young dragon carps. He is recued three hours later sans pants or shoes. The photo of their first kiss is lost.
Oliver says he is almost done with his existential crisis but now Percy has one of his own.
You see, there is something Oliver hasn’t said. Something he didn’t mention at all. And Percy doesn’t know if Oliver just hasn’t noticed (it took him two years to realize all the Weasleys were siblings) or if he noticed but… doesn’t care?
There is more than one reason why only Charlie has met the girls.
Even now that Percy has received letters from every family member (including Freaking Aunt Muriel) and even a surprise visit from them (he has a life debt with Charlie for the heads-up) and they have begun the unpleasant work of fixing their relationship; even now, they haven’t met Molly and Lucy.
It’s because of the Weasley cousin they never talk about. The accountant.
Percy knows that it’s perfectly normal. Many wizarding children don’t exhibit any magic until they are at least seven. But he also knows that every single person in his family was levitating toys (Bill, Ron and Ginny) or stopping spilled milk in mid-air (him) or shooting sparks (Charlie and the twins) by the time they were three.
Molly and Lucy had done nothing magical so far. Nothing at all. And Percy knows, in his heart of hearts, that if anyone makes them feel inferior, if anyone dares to say anything against them, he will go the Dark Lord route and kill every single person prejudiced against squibs. He might kill every single wizard and witch and eradicate all magic, so his girls won’t feel inferior to anyone. He found in himself the strength to forgive the man than took Audrey’s life, but he won’t do the same for the person who speaks against his children. He can’t.
 On Christmas Percy reluctantly agrees to go to England with the girls because Charlie promises he will be there too. It is not easy. It is, in fact, very, very difficult and tense. He is forever grateful at Lee Jordan, who is glued to Fred’s hip cracking jokes and defusing tension. Also, Angelina Johnson takes George and Ginny to the kitchen and informs them they are the biggest idiots she has ever had the misfortune of meeting and that helps to avoid anyone saying something unforgivable they will regret their whole life. On Christmas’ Eve Harry Potter takes everyone’s wands because he is Harry Potter “and I do what I want” which means no one hexes anyone and they can overindulge the punch.
Oh, why bother? The whole thing is terrible and awkward and it hurts. But it is a necessary painful step, either to fix things with time or to say that he tried, actually tried, and never look back at this moment with regret.
Also, he gets to meet with Oliver. It turns out that Oliver hadn’t noticed the girls’ lack of magic, but he also doesn’t care. Why would he care? Are you- are you supposed to care? Is this another thing Oliver missed because he only thinks about Quidditch? What’s wrong with not having magic in any case? Oliver’s mother is muggle and it is agreed that she is wonderful.
(Even Potter says so. Percy has no idea of when Harry Potter met Oliver’s mum, but he speaks of her in the highest terms).
 You can read about what happened next on issues of 32, 33 & 34 of Alakazam as well as special issues 17, 21, 22 and 25. Draco Malfoy earns 1.5 million galleons with issue 33, setting a record for most successful print in wizarding history. Then he obliterates that record with a single stolen picture of Percy and Oliver’s wedding. He committed around a dozen crimes to get that picture, got drunk on champagne and victory and asked Harry Potter to marry him.
(He also donated all the money to a newly created society for the support and trade education of squibs, but only two people in the world know that).

Sinnam Kevu - Chapter 1- Questions
Summary:  Random snips from my brain for the Trooper story about a trooper who grew up on a planet that in the last war was a constant battle ground between the Republic and Empire. She's been fighting the Empire since as soon as she could walk. Semi slow burn for F!trooper x Aric.
Chapter: 1/?
Chapter Summary:  From the rookie in the team to the leader of the squad after the rest of the team's defection causes Aric to have some questions about the pull his new CO has.
Notes: The planet Sinnam is from, Trelin, is a planet I made up. It's located in the outer rim and is a popular trading hub that became a point of interest for both the Empire and Republic in the last war.

The Senate Tower. Not somewhere Sinnam was excited to set foot in again, but this was where the hunt for Tavis and the others sent her. So far, she had avoided him. Up until the day she couldn't.
After neutralizing the nerve agents a city gang collected, she retrieved a call from the General. There were a few Senators that had uncovered what had happened to Havoc Squad and now are filing for an informal inquiry. She was mandated to speak there, but the more of her mission that was public, that harder it was going to get.
When she entered that room, she knew there was no coincidence as to who was there. One of the three Senator was a man she's been avoiding for years.
"Lieutenant Kevu, make yourself comfortable." He stated "On behalf of the Senate of the Galactic Republic, I want to thank you for appearing on such short notice for this informal inquiry."
She took a seat, not letting herself appeared fazed. "I'm just doing my duty Sir."
"I assure you we will not hold you from your duties any longer than necessary Lieutenant."
They asked pretty basic questions. Did she serve with them? Did they defect? Where they unstable? Could anyone have seen it coming? Did it have anything to do with Ando Prime?
Sinnam avoided most of the questions, trying to keep with damage control. Then she was dismissed.
But that didn't stop him. "Lieutenant," He said following her out of the conference. "I was wondering if we can have a word in private?"
Private. That was the only time they talked wasn't it? "Anything you want to say to me you can say in front of Sergeant Jorgan. If you can't, then we have nothing to talk about."
He paused a moment "Congrats on the promotion."
"Thank you" She said firmly
A silent set between them. She wasn't going to put the effort into carrying this conversation. The man rubbed his beard "I know you couldn't tell me you were on Coruscant but since you're here and I know you're here maybe we can have dinner some time? You still haven't tried my cooking."
Cooking. As in they would be in his home. "I'm sorry Senator, I don't see much of an opening in my schedule right now and given your inquiry into Havoc Squad I'm not sure it would be appropriate."
"Okay." He cleared his throat "I'll likely see you later Lieutenant."
"Until next time Senator."
Aric had to hurry down the hall when that conversation ended. Sinnam's pace sped up to put some distance between them. She stopped at the refresher before going to Garza's office to get a minute to herself.
Grabbing the sink, she sighed. In the mirror she examined her own face. Half Zabrak. Half human. No one noticed the human part but she did. Her eyes weren't quite right. "Just one asshole Sin. Can't let him get to you."
The door creaked open and closed "I'll say." Aric commented "I don't mean to pry into your personal life, Sir, but he seems too old for you and given the inquiry it's not professional. I know you're young for a CO, but that's a big mistake. And that's all ignoring that he's a Senator and they always complicate our operations."
A laugh escaped her. She could berate him for being in the woman's bathroom right now but that wasn't going to help. "I appreciate the concern Sergeant, I'm afraid you're understanding of the situation is backwards."
He crossed his arms "Want to explain it?"
All the cheeriness in her expression dropped. "We have to report in. I appreciate the concern."
~~~~
The topic wasn't brought up again until they were on their way to save a senator from Wraith.
He took a seat across from her in the main room "You know, I reviewed your record before that ZR-57 op. Been meaning to discuss it with you. Been fighting the Empire since you could carry a blaster, running with a rebellion on a backwater. Did good there, running them off the planet. So you can kill Imperials, but that guerilla mentality won't cut it in the big time."
Sinnam shrugged "You saw how I handled things. I know what I'm doing."
Coruscant and Ord Mantel went to plan, he'll give her that. "Taking on that sep army single handedly takes guts, not leader ship. I saw you second guessing yourself about those cyborgs. A leader has to choice between completing the mission and loosing men. Completing the mission and civilian casualties. You have to have your head on straight and know where that line is."
Her jaw tightened as he talked. "I do"
"When this squad grows past you and me, people are going to have to trust your orders to the letter." He added "Not question them. They need to have their full trust in you and for that to happen you have to have full trust in yourself. A squad needs that kind of commitment to operate effectively."
Well this was going well then. "Are you saying you don't trust me?"
He shook his head "I will always give you a hundred percent. That's not the issue. Havoc Squad is the Republic's most elite outfit. We tackle the missions no one else can handle. Traitor or no, Tavis is a tough act to follow. You think you're up to it?"
"Certainly." She said firmly.
He paused a few minutes. Sinnam didn't mind the quiet, in fact she generally preferred it, but she was getting a bit weirded out. "Is something else bothering you?"
Jorgan nodded "That Senator. Arnus. You said I had it wrong. I didn't see another explanation until I remembered something strange in your service record. Your father wasn't unlisted, it was classified. Even for me before the demotion. Either he's high in the military or a senator with some pull."
A lump formed in her throat and she looked away from him. She could shut him down and not talk about this, but her and Jorgan were on the same team together.
She needed to trust him.
But she needed protect herself as well. She composed herself and looked back to him with a confident demeanor. "Jorgan, am I supposed to be connecting dots from that last conversation to this one or are these two different points?"
He shrugged "It crossed my mind."
That was one of her biggest worries. "Nepotism? Seriously?"
"He classified his name for a reason."
She rolled her eyes "Do you know how I met him?" She didn't wait for Jorgan to respond "Back when I enlisted in the Republic, in basic training, there was an accident and when I was being treated there were some medical complications. The doctor took a DNA test to try to find a match for my father. We found him, he sent records and a million credits for me to never talk to him again or tell anyone. It was an election year."
His brow knit together "What did you do?"
Years ago, she had shame for what she did. Now, after the fact, she knew she couldn't change it. Might as well stand in it. "I was sixteen. That was more money than I've ever seen and my home planet had been ravaged by the Empire. The Republic wasn't working fast enough for me. I took the money. Paid off my mother's medical bills. Gave my baby brother a college fund. Sent the rest to Trelin relief. Didn't talk to him again until a few years later."
"Sixteen?" He asked
She's come this far, might as well finish it "Yes. You can add lying on my application to the military to that report about suspected nepotism and incompetence. I'm two years younger than the Republic thinks. Couldn't enlist until I'm eighteen but fighting on Terlin had finished. We won."
He shook his head "I said it crossed my mind, not that I'm writing you up."
Sinnam got up from her seat and grabbed a glass of water from the kitchen that was in the same room they were already in "Such a fine line you walk. So it's just accusing me of nepotism?"
Her sarcastic comments weren't something he was expecting in private. When she arrived on Ord Mantel he had heard from her last commander that she was always professional. So far he'd seen it too.
Until now "Look, you've got a great record. From rebellion to enlisted, you've risen fast. You're just young. Apparently even younger than I thought. And the leader of the most elite squad is a lot of pressure for anyone. I just wanted to know. You could have done everything I read. Or someone might have overstated for a payday."
This could get messy if he really didn't trust her. "My biological father has nothing to do with my military career. Even if he cared enough to do it, the risk of someone exposing that is far too much risk for him. He doesn't want any tracible connection between us. Or did you not notice how he offered to cook? He doesn't want to be seen in public with me."
Now he was starting to feel a bit guilty "Alright."
She took a deep breath "Are we done then?"
Jorgan nodded "I'll see you when we arrive, Lieutenant."
~~~~
The Senator was safe. Wraith escaped. Garza sent them to another world. The journey there was two days long. The first full day was silent on the ship. The two of them avoided each other until a sparing session the two of them had planned before the tense conversation about nepotism. Basic hand to hand training to better understand each other's skills before they're relevant in the field.
Sinnam dressed down into a t-shirt and shorts. Jorgan had never seen her outside of uniform. There were scars that trailed up her neck and face that he saw but there were far more on her arms and legs. Deeper, older, and more intensive.
While she was stretching out, she saw him starring at her leg specifically. "An orbital strike on our holdout on Balmorra three years ago."
He remembered reading about it. Hospitalized it for five months. "They pulled out not long after that didn't they?"
Her head dropped. She could feel the heat across her body once again. "It was in Imperial hands by the time I woke up a week later. Only survivor of my unit and we didn't even help those people."
"That's rough."
She stood up straight and stretched out her neck "It's what I signed up for."
They nodded to each other and started circling the mats. "No claws right?" She asked with a smile
He shrugged "Wouldn't need them anyways."
A laugh escaped Sinnam as she took a shot at him. Straight for his hips. They struggled each other for control of who would hit the mat. "Sure about that?" She asked as she tripped him over her foot set behind his leg as he took a step back.
Jorgan fell to the ground and fought against a pin. In the situation he got himself into by not watching her close enough it was going to be hard.
After a few moments of struggling he tapped the mat.
Sinnam got off of him and helped him up to his feet. "Not bad Aric." He said with a heavy breath
He wiped sweat from his brow and stretched out his shoulder "Aric?"
"It's your name isn't it?" She asked with a smile "We're off duty for another thirty hours. No point to stay so up tight. We can have a bit of fun, actually enjoy each other's company. As long as you're okay with that."
"Sure. Off duty."
She laughed again. He didn't know he would like her laugh so much. "Is relaxing and making friends really that hard for you?"
He cleared his throat "No, it's not that. Just after what I said, I wasn't sure you'd want to be friendly."
Sinnam shrugged and grabbed a bottle of water "I figure if you're not sure about my rep, I'll just do what I do and you'll see. I got nothing to prove, you don't have an issue with me when we're on the job, and we're going to have a lot of time together. No point holding a grudge over something that I admit does look sketchy."
Tossing it over to him, Aric caught the bottle and took a sip. After, he tossed it back. "You did take his money."
She took a drink from the same bottle and paused "Fair. Want to go another round?"
~~~~
Nothing like a nice ache from getting thrown down on the mats a few times. Aric was stretching back out when they were done "Got to hand it to you Sir, I didn't think I'd go oh for three against you. I thought I'd at least get one."
She chuckled as she took a seat "Sorry Aric, one of us is a scrapper and the other spent half of his career as a sniper."
He threw a towel at her "Thanks Sir."
Pulling it off her face, she shook her head "Hey, you did pretty well for a sniper." She used the towel to dry her face "And you know it wouldn't kill you to call me Sinnam."
"I know Sir."
Disclaimer: Mine? You’ve got to be kidding. Money? Don’t have any, don’t bother.
-o-o-o-
 He was still lying there half an hour later when there was a soft knock on the door.
The thought of ignoring it flittered through the back of his mind. He didn’t feel like talking to anyone. Shutting down his blog actually felt wrong, kind of sad, as if an outlet was now denied him...which it was. He really enjoyed speaking to like minds about ideas and innovations. He enjoyed brainstorming with Brains, of course, but his online interactions were something different and, if he was honest, he liked having the confidence of fellow engineers and a little recognition of his knowledge and skill from time to time.
But his ingrained politeness and self control forced him to push himself upright with a groan, drag his feet off the bed to hit the floor and respond.
His eldest brother’s head poked in the door. “Virg?”
The engineer didn’t answer, just waved him over, eyes closing a little in resignation.
Of course, Scott had a bottle of pills in one hand and half a glass of water in the other. Inevitable. Virgil held back the sigh.
“Don’t say it. This is non-negotiable.”
Virgil shifted where he sat on the edge of the bed only to jar his shoulder and groan.
The glass of water landed on his bedside table and the pill bottle rattled as Scott held his hand and shook two pills on to it.
Virgil glared at him, but shoved them in his mouth and took the offered water, washing them down with a grimace.
Ugh.
The empty glass ended up on the bedside table and Virgil let his shoulders droop just a little. Maybe he could climb back into bed, close his eyes and ignore the world for the rest of the day.
Scott sat down beside him on the bed. “We need to talk.”
Oh, crap. His shoulders tightened.
“Then I need coffee.” He shifted to push himself to his feet, but Scott reached out and gently tugged him back down, keeping him on the bed. “Virgil, please, tell me what is wrong. You haven’t been yourself for days now. Something is bothering you.”
“I don’t have the capacity for this without coffee.” He was like a computer that had run out of memory space. I’m sorry, Scott, I’m afraid I can’t do that. He rubbed his hand across his face.
“Does it have something to do with Mom?”
What? He turned to stare at his brother only to find real worry in those blue eyes. “Why would it have to do with Mom?”
His brother shrugged a little guiltily. “When you failed to turn up for debrief, I checked on you. You had been looking at a photo of Mom.” He held up a hand. “I didn’t mean to pry, honest. I picked your tablet off the floor where you had dropped it and the screen flashed it at me.”
Virgil swallowed. A pause. “It’s not about Mom.”
Those blue eyes still had questions in them. “Then what is it about?”
The room was quiet, the only sounds the sea breeze in the palm tree outside his window, distant gulls, surf on the other side of the island. He looked down at his hand in his lap. “Do you think I’m smart?” It came out before he could think it through.
“What?” Scott’s forehead furrowed. “Does this have to do with that idiot Windemere?”
A sigh. “No. Yes. Maybe. Alan said something and it got me thinking.” No, he shouldn’t be talking before coffee or after pain killers. “Look, it doesn’t matter. I’m fine.” He made to get up, but a strong arm held him down.
“It is not fine. Why are you questioning yourself? My god, Virgil, you are one of the smartest people I know.” A pause full of unspoken words. “What did Alan say?”
Shit. “It is nothing. Just had a bad couple of days. I’ll be fine.”
But again that hand held him down.
It wasn’t strength. Virgil was stronger than his brother. It was...Scott.
“Talk to me, Virgil. Why are you questioning yourself?”
His shoulders dropped. “Should I have grabbed Alan? Or should I have trusted him get himself out of that fall?”
“What?! Are you kidding me? What the hell did he say to you?!”
Great. Now Scott was going to lambast his brother again. Virgil held up his hands. “This isn’t about Alan. It’s about me.”
“I don’t care which of you it is about. Alan was stupid and, yes, you did the right thing yanking his ass out of that fall. I would have done the same. I’m sorry you were injured, but the alternative...you did good.”
It felt weak, but honestly, to hear it from Scott helped. Scott was his guide, his weather vane, his lead. He often felt that without Scott, he would be lost.
A swallow. “I can’t see it happening any other way, either.”
“Then what is the problem? Why are you doubting yourself?”
“Do you think Brains is smarter than me?”
That gave his brother pause. The frown deepened, his eyes shifted to thought for just a moment as he processed the question.
“Why?”
“Just answer the question.”
“No, I don’t.”
Now that gave Virgil pause. “What?”
“Apart from the fact that this is not a race, Virgil, intelligence cannot be measured on a single scale. Everyone has different skills and aptitudes. There are situations where Brains’ abilities will flourish and different areas where yours will shine. For example, I put Brains on the front line very rarely as his skill set does not respond well to unknown situations, whereas I can throw you in and know you’ll land on your thinking feet and deal efficiently with whatever is thrown at you. You’re both smart, just at different things.”
He eyed his brother. “What about engineering?”
“What about it?” Perplexed was the word to describe his brother’s tone and expression.
“We are both engineers. Yet you default to asking Brains before you ask me.”
“What?”
“It’s true. I can be standing beside you in the danger zone and instead of asking me, you comm Brains.”
“I...I do?”
“Yes, you do.”
“That’s Brains’ job.”
“But not mine?”
“I wasn’t aware it was an issue.”
“It isn’t.”
“Then what? Virg, what the hell is going on? You’ve lost me.”
He let his shoulders slump. “I don’t know either. Don’t worry about it.” God, he needed coffee.
Scott slipped off the bed and knelt in front of him, placing a hand on his left shoulder. Virgil had no doubt that if his right shoulder wasn’t damaged, there would be a hand there too. “Virg, you know, no matter what, you have my support. If you want to shift your duties more into the realm of engineering than they already are, fine, let’s do it. If I have ever caused you to think I have any doubt in your abilities, I am truly sorry. There is no doubt. I would trust you with everything. I have trusted you with everything. It isn’t about smarts, it’s about you.” Scott’s blue eyes bore into his. “You have my everything.”
Something lodged in Virgil’s throat. God. His voice was hoarse. “Thank you.” He tried to swallow past that lump. “Likewise.”
Scott smiled just a little and squeezed his shoulder. “Are we good?”
“We weren’t anything but.” Coffee, give me coffee.
Those eyes grew quizzical again. Virgil reached out and clasped Scott’s arm. “I’m good. Honest. I just really need some coffee.” Coffee and a shower.
His brother’s expression switched to one of fond exasperation before he sighed and rose to his feet. Scott held out a hand. “Well, c’mon then, we can’t deny you your fix, can we?”
Virgil pursed his lips, but took the helping hand, shoving himself to his feet. Scott threw an arm around him and drew him close. “No doubts, okay?”
Again with the hoarse voice. “Okay. Thanks, Scott.”
His brother eyed the uniform Virgil was still wearing. “Need a hand?”
Virgil grunted. It wasn’t the first time he or his brothers needed some assistance due to injury, but it still sucked.
Scott took the sound for what it really was and without any further comment began gently helping his brother out of his coverall.
“So what did Alan say?”
“I will talk to Alan.”
Scott’s lips tightened. “I hope he is grateful for what you did and apologises for being stupid.”
Virgil touched his brother’s arm. “I will talk to Alan.” A gentle squeeze. “And please, be a little less liberal with that word.”
“What word?”
“Stupid. None of are stupid. We all have our reasons for what we do. There is no stupid on this island, only a genuine want to do what is right.”
Again with the staring blue eyes. A pause. “Okay.”
“Thank you.”
His brother stared at him a moment longer before returning to helping him out of his uniform. The rest of the job was done in mutual silence.
Scott handed him his dressing gown. “Coffee, before I trust you in the shower.”
Virgil glared at him, but silently agreed as he shouldered on the garment.
His brother just grinned at him. “Let’s get you your fix.”
-o-o-o-
The rest of the afternoon was quiet. A rare dip in rescues that just gave them time to wind down and recover.
Virgil made the most of it. Not that there was any way he would be attending a rescue for at least a week, possibly more if Scott had his way. He had his coffee, extra large mug in the hope to combat the fog of his medication. It kind of worked. Enough for him to have a nice long shower, get cleaned up and throw on some fresh clothes. There was the piano and a painting, but he felt more like lying down, so found himself a pool lounger and, with a pile of self-indulgent pillows, holed up at the far end of the pool under a palm tree. His tablet provided the latest edition of Art Monthly and he let himself get lost in other people’s art. The air was warm, but not hot, the breeze gentle and despite the dose of caffeine, it wasn’t long before he drifted off.
When he woke, the sun was making for the horizon, the whole island cast in gold.
“Hey, Virgil.”
The soft melodious voice of his space borne brother was lacking its usual transmission static and it was a pleasant surprise to roll over and find John sitting on a lounger beside him. “Hey.”
“Hey, yourself. How are you feeling?”
First question of any brother to any injured brother, of course. “Good, actually.” And he was. Relaxed, pain at a minimum, a gorgeous sunset in preparation, and... “Great to see you down here.” Virgil didn’t admit it often, but he did miss his middle brother. Didn’t really like him so far out of reach. But John loved it, so it was what it was. Didn’t mean Virgil couldn’t be happy to see him when he could. “What brings you to this little planet?”
The sun was sculpting John’s pale features and white shirt in almost molten gold, merging his skin with his copper hair. The odd thought of some kind of Greek god fluttered through the back of Virgil’s mind. He shook himself mentally. What the hell?
“Why did you shut it down?”
“What?” Virgil stared at his brother.
“Your blog. Why did you shut it down?” John’s turquoise eyes were a splash of contrasting colour stabbing through the gold.
Virgil opened his mouth, but nothing came out.
“And for that matter, why haven’t you told anyone that you are V.T. Green?”
“Gordon knows.” It came out defensive.
“So, you told Gordon?”
“No, he guessed.” Still staring. “How do you know?”
“Remember who taught you how to protect your identity online?”
Virgil frowned. “You hacked my website?!”
“For a legitimate reason, yes, I did.” His brother appeared very unapologetic. “Brains needed information on V.T. Green so he could approach Scott with the idea of inviting him to the island.” John smiled a little lopsided. “You’ve certainly expanded your defensive repertoire. I had quite a time tracking your identity down.”
He couldn’t help it. He bit his lip and smiled just a little. “I did learn from the best.”
“And you sent the best on a right royal goose chase. The moon? Really?”
“It was convenient.”
“So why haven’t you told Brains.”
“Didn’t you?” He peered up at his brother.
“No. Not my information to share.”
“Yet you hacked my site to get that information.”
“Had to be done.”
Virgil looked away a moment, his eyes catching the far off movements of a flock of seagulls.
“Why are you hiding, Virgil?’
He shot his brother a glance that almost turned into a glare. “I’m not hiding. Never was.”
“But you haven’t told anyone.”
He shrugged and was rewarded with a medication reminder as his shoulder complained. “I didn’t think I had to. It wasn’t a thing.”
“I read through your blog. Some pretty amazing stuff. Brains was right, V.T. Green is a genius.”
Virgil eyed him. “You’re the genius in this family.” He turned back to the seagulls.
His brother didn’t answer and for a short time there was silence except for the sounds of the island.
John sighed. “Do you remember in sixth grade those two boys, Jareth and Brodi.”
“Sure, a couple of dicks. Scott should have hit them harder for what they did to you.” Bastards. John still had the scar.
“Yeah, well, comes with the territory.” John paused for a moment. “You’re smart, Virgil. Very smart. Why...”
“Why don’t my school grades show it? Why wasn’t I picked on for my IQ?” He sat up, dragged his legs off the lounger and faced his brother. “Are you asking me if I’ve been bludging to hide my brain, John?”
“Have you?”
Virgil stared at him. “No!” He shifted where he sat. “I did my best at school. Hell, do you think I would have made it into Denver otherwise?”
“But these concepts are way beyond your qualifications.”
“Qualifications? You think education ends at school? That it is tied to some stupid diploma? I did my dues; I convinced a bunch of hidebound professors that I understood enough to get my piece of paper. After that, I didn’t have to convince anyone but my family.” He glared at John. “And I thought my family knew what I was capable of.” He shoved to his feet. “I haven’t been hiding anything. I’ve always been who I am and I thought you all knew that.” He turned away. “I guess I was wrong.”
He didn’t look back as he stormed inside.
Tommy. Where are You Now? Tommy, Where are You Now? Tommy. Where are You?
Author: Thymeth
Year: 2007
Rating: PG
Pairing:  Howard/Tommy, Tommy/Vince, Howard/Vince.
Was this the renowned zookeeper Tommy Nooka? This short, beady-eyed, wide-headed, yellow-skinned man? There was nothing at all remarkable about him. Well, except for his odd looks. But Howard prided himself on being able to look past a person's physical shell and find what was underneath, what really mattered. And the instant Tommy shook his hand and began showing him around the zoo, Howard knew that he had found a man he would like. A man who deserved admiration. A man who, if Howard was worthy, might in time become a friend. Perhaps even a soulmate. Tommy was a leader of men and other leaders like Howard were naturally drawn to him, that was the way it should be. Tommy knew what he wanted done and he managed to get people to do it too. These were qualities Howard regarded highly and always looked to improve in himself. Perhaps he would pick up some tips from Tommy. Or perhaps their inevitable friendship would buy him enough respect not to need sharpening his skills; things might end up just falling into his lap, now that he was at Tommy's side. "And this is the Porpoise Pool," Tommy said, pointing out at the water, "That grey one is Mr Fergusson, that grey one is Shuffleboy and the last grey one is Magic Plaster. We have no dolphins, as you can see, because, and always remember this, Howard: dolphins are evil." Howard met Tommy's eyes and nodded. How could he question such a claim? It would have sounded ridiculous coming from anyone else, but not from Tommy. Tommy had natural authority, he knew everything. This was a proper man, a man's man, a man of action. And Howard was instantly his biggest fan. * Howard was sweeping the Lemur Cage. Tommy had set him to work instantly, telling him 'waste not, want not', and trusting him with such an important job. It was a tiny zoo, Howard had quickly realised, and yet there were so many animals. Every available bit of space had been utilised to its full potential, it was an architectural wonderment. Designed by Tommy, of course. Was there anything the man couldn't do? Howard swept some leaves out of a corner and was met with a quiet squeak. Curious heads peeped down from the branches above as he bent down to find a lonely lemur lying curled up in the corner, black-and-white tail wrapped around itself. "Hey, little fellow," Howard said, "You alright?" But the lemur just looked up at him with huge eyes. "You don't look too good," Howard said and reached out to stroke the furry head, "Are you ill, mate?" The lemur didn't move, it didn't even blink when Howard touched it. Howard didn't know what to do. Did he leave it here and go and fetch someone? Or did he pick it up and take it somewhere? If he left it, what would happen then? And if he took it with him, what if it escaped? But what if it got worse while he was away? Or better? What if he broke it when he lifted it up? What if it bit him, did it have rabies? What would the other keepers think if he left it here on its own? And what would they think if he came prancing by with a wild animal in his arms? Oh, so many questions, why couldn't he just make up his mind? Tommy would have known instantly what to do; he was a man of action, not of pointless thought. Howard would go to Tommy, Tommy would sort it out. But what about the lemur? Again, back at the starting point. Make a decision, Howard, make a flipping decision! He glanced up in the branches, as if the other lemurs could help him. Their little eyes shone dark down at him, uncomprehending. He was getting nowhere, this couldn't go on, he had to make a decision, now. So he lifted the lemur up into his arms. It didn't protest, as if it was half-asleep. "Come on, little fellow," he said and got to his feet, "Let's go and find Mr Nooka. He'll put you right, you'll see." Howard walked back through the zoo, peering into every nook and corner, looking for Tommy. In the Lizard Lounge he found him, standing on a stool with his sleeves rolled up past his elbows and his hands muddied as he scooped dead lily leaves out of a small frog pond. "Erm..." Howard tried, clearing his throat, "Mr Nooka, sir?" "Tommy, boy, Tommy," Tommy said, turning towards him, "No sir-ing here, lad." "Right, si... Tommy," Howard said, awkwardly. "Now, what seems to be the problem, Howard?" "Well, si... Sorry. This lemur looks a bit ill, I thought. I brought it with me, I didn't know... I mean, I... Sorry." Howard hung his head. Of course he shouldn't have brought the animal with him, what an incredibly stupid and irresponsible thing to do! But Tommy hopped off his stool, wiping his hands on his jacket, and came over to him and stood on tip-toes to look. Howard lowered the lemur and Tommy poked it in the stomach and peered into its eyes. "I'm sorry, Howard," he said slowly, "I'm sorry you had so see this. And on your first day too." "See what? What do you mean?" "I'm afraid it is dead." Howard stared at Tommy before looking down at the animal in his arms. It seemed heavier and its head lulled from side to side as he lifted it up again. It was dead. "Did I kill it?" Howard asked, his voice just a whisper, "I shouldn't have moved it. Oh! I'm sorry, Tommy, I'm so sorry." "It is not your fault, Howard," Tommy said, "We all die. Remember that: we all die." "But..." He could have saved it if he'd only made up his mind sooner, fetched Tommy sooner, not moved it, not sat around worrying what the other keepers would think of him. What would they think now? 'Howard Moon kills lemur on first day'. "It is the natural order of the world," Tommy said, laying a hand on Howard's arm, "Some animals are born and some die, that is the way it's supposed to be. Let me take this one and you go back and finish your sweeping." Howard nodded silently and placed the lifeless body into Tommy's outstretched arms. Back at the Lemur Cage, the other lemurs were watching him beadily from the branches, as if they knew what had happened and no longer trusted him. * You couldn't dislike the other keepers, you had to work side-by-side with them every day, so disliking them would've made life hell. But you didn't exactly like them either. They were fine, nothing more. They were simple, not terribly bright any of them, and yet they thought they were geniuses. Megalomaniacal, almost, as if they owned the world and had the right to sneer at everything. And they all seemed to adore Tommy. Oh, Howard, you are blind, aren't you? You're just like them. You suspected it, but you never let it form itself into a conscious thought. These were the kind of people Tommy surrounded himself with, because they're easily manipulated if treated the right way. Tommy knew how to do that. You never learnt, no-one ever listens to you or follows your orders. No-one really seemed to be friends. Everyone accepted each other, but nothing more. Bob Fossil pranced around not really doing anything, Graham worked in the ticket booth, Kerouac padded around looking out at the world sullenly from under his messy hair, Tony Ice the travelling hobo looked a right mess no matter how starched his uniform jacket was. The only one you could almost like was Tommy's private psychic Naboo. You didn't believe in all that card-reading and star-gazing nonsense, but Tommy clearly did and Naboo seemed friendly enough. And so life at the zoo continued. Tommy taught you everything he knew and you did everything you could to impress him. It was almost a competition between the keepers to be Tommy's favourite and Tommy milked it for all its worth. Few workplaces could boast of such a loyal and hard-working set of employees. All for a smile or pat on the back from Tommy. You never questioned it, as if he owned your soul. The shortest of glances from him made your stomach twist, a few words with him in the morning made you smile for the rest of the day. Some disgusting people might have said you were in love with him. It wasn't love, was it, Howard? It was respect, admiration, hero-worship. Not sissy-like love, no sir! Tommy was a man's man, a man of action, he didn't mess about with silly emotions like love. Those day-dreams about him were just a result of an over-active creative mind, weren't they? Your mind was running wild at the moment because you didn't have the time to sit down and write your novel. Once you had the time, your brain would be tamed and thoughts about hiding in the broom cupboard in the Reptile House with Tommy all squashed up against you would be wiped from your brain. * "That is not true!" Howard was standing outside Tommy's office, hand raised, about to knock. "I will not stand for this!" A loud clatter came seeping out. Howard knocked tentatively and opened the door. "Is... Is something wrong, Tommy? I heard shouting..." he asked carefully. Tommy was sitting behind his desk, arms crossed and frowning deeply. "Probably not," he answered resentfully, "Tell me, Howard, when did beating up someone at a nightclub become illegal?" Howard regarded Tommy a moment. "I think that's been illegal pretty much always." "Damn," Tommy answered. "Why? Has something happened?" "No, nothing you need worry about, Howard," Tommy answered, his face clearing, and he looked up, "You wanted something?" * Tommy had beaten someone up? You couldn't believe it. Tommy? Your Tommy, that gentle little man with the soft touch and love of lizards and cheese? How could he beat up a man? Someone had to be stitching him up. The rest of the staff were tense at lunch, talking in low voices. You sat down next to Kerouac. "Well, it's not much of a surprise, really," he was saying, "I mean, what with that situation with Paulie last year." "Why, what happened?" you asked. "New boy," Kerouac answered, "Only been here a week or so. Pissed Tommy off, wouldn't follow orders. Tommy 'most broke his arm." "He did break his arm," Graham chirped in, "Ugly incident, had to separate them meself." "What, Tommy?" you asked. You couldn't believe this. You wouldn't believe this. "Yeah," Kerouac said, "He's always been like that, violent episodes." "I heard," Tony Ice said, sitting down, his hobo-mojo as strong as ever, "I heard he used to drive down to Brighton on the weekends, used to beat up mods. Used to charge at 'em, headbutt 'em off their scooters." "Well, Tommy hates mods, doesn't he?" Graham said, "They enrage him on sight. Rockabilly Rhino he calls himself." "Are we talking about the same Tommy?" you asked, "Tommy Nooka?" The others nodded, sharing glances. "You've been a lucky one," Tony Ice said finally, " 'E's been pretty gentle with you. Ain't no-one 'ere expectin' it to last, mind. 'Specially not now." And Tony Ice wasn't wrong. You'd never seen anyone change personality so suddenly. No longer the kindly, smiling Tommy who'd tell you about his weird and wonderful dreams or encourage you and gently correct your work. This was a freakshow standing in front of you, enraged like a temperamental four-year-old that'd been refused a chocolate bar at the shop. But a four-year-old with the strength and speed of a grown man and the cruelty of a barbarian. Everything he said was venom-laced and every movement was aggressive, on the verge of violence. You lost count of how many buckets of seed you got thrown at you, and how many insulting nicknames could be created by rhyming words with 'Moon'. The man Tommy had beaten up was an important businessman. The story would have created a huge scandal - especially for Tommy and the zoo - had it reached the papers. But it had been elegantly hushed up by a shady figure referred to as Bainbridge. And Bainbridge's silence, it turned out, did not come cheap. In fact, just a couple of days later he was running the zoo. "Right," Bainbridge had barked that morning, glaring out at you all, "I'm in charge now and all zoo business will go through me. My name is Dixon Bainbridge but to you I will be known as Mr Bainbridge. I will have no nonsense at this zoo, I expect you to work hard for your pay and not piss around. I have a position as general manager opening, applicants will report to me in my office after lunch. Get to work. Good day." You didn't get that general manager job, Bainbridge gave it to Bob Fossil. Fossil had no qualifications, and that was the reason he got it: he knew nothing and couldn't go against Bainbridge's wishes. Not that Fossil would anyway; Fossil had received quite a bad punch-up from Tommy a couple of days ago and was still not over it. He latched onto anyone who disliked Tommy and right now the biggest bully was Bainbridge. And Fossil was his biggest fan. The zoo was crumbling at your fingertips, you could see everything cracking, like seashells underfoot. Nothing was right under Bainbridge's rule. The animals were no longer the centre of attention: all Bainbridge cared about was profit. Graham was given an electrical baton to make sure no-one who hadn't paid their ticket got in. Naboo was set to work in the kiosk of all places, and forcefully mocked every time Bainbridge passed. Bainbridge seemed to despise everyone and you most of all, Howard. You believed it was because you stood by Tommy still. It wasn't: he just didn't like you. * "Howard, I need you to do me a favour," Tommy said one day, coming stealthily into the Deer Enclosure, as if he was being followed. "Yes, of course," Howard said instantly, straightening up from where he was emptying seeds and fruit into a trough. "Good lad," Tommy said, "You see, I have set my eyes on a new keeper I'd like to employ and I need you to go and talk to him. Make the final move, so to say. He is quite young, I need someone who's, as they say, 'down with the kids' to talk to him. Would you do that for me, Howard?" "You can still hire new people?" Howard asked and instantly wished he hadn't: Tommy glared so angrily up at him Howard was afraid he might burst into flames. "Yes, I ruddy well can! I still own this zoo, I decide how it is run!" Howard accepted instantly, afraid what would happen if he didn't. Anyway, whatever might piss Bainbridge off was fine by him. And Tommy calling him 'down with the kids' made him secretly very proud. He was down with the kids, he knew the word on the street, hadn't he even started buying music on these new-fangled CDs rather than on old-fashioned vinyl? He left the zoo without anyone knowing and went to the café Tommy had told him about, the one just by the school. And, just as Tommy had said, there sat the boy he had been sent to talk to. Howard recognised him instantly, he was impossible not to notice. He was beautiful. He was surrounded by mates and was chatting with them of all, smiling at everyone. A natural focal point, the one person everyone was automatically and inexplicably drawn to, for no reason other than he was alive and just might smile at them. He ruffled his half-long brown-gold hair with one hand as he talked to a smiling girl. He flirted with her effortlessly, as if he wasn't even aware of what he was doing, putting his head to one side, looking up at her with wide blue eyes, giggling when she talked and smiling when he answered. Only when the woman behind the counter almost shouted at him, did Howard realise that he had been standing in a daze just staring at the boy. "Sorry, yeah," he said and turned to her, "Cup of tea please. And a... a croissant." "Don't do them foreign dishes," the woman answered, "We only do proper, hearty English food here." "Right, sorry," Howard said, rocking on the balls of his toes, "A sandwich then. Cheese." "Right you are," the woman answered and Howard paid her. Finally he could make sure the boy was still there. He couldn't keep glancing over his shoulder while he was ordering; he wasn't a paedophile. He sat down and the teenagers were still there, sprawled around two tables chatting amongst themselves, eating crisps and drinking tea. The woman behind the counter didn't even seem to register them. Tommy had said he assumed they came in here every day. Howard finished his sandwich and emptied his cup and the teenagers were still sitting there. He could've just walked up to them when he had first arrived, asked for a private word and been done with it. Why was he dallying like this, he'd already been here forty-five minutes now, wasting his own and Tommy's time. "We'd better get back," one of the boys said and got to his feet. The rest followed his example, except the one Howard was here to talk to. "I haven't got classes yet, you go," he said. "Yeah, you do, you've got maths with me," one of the girls said. The boy just smiled and shrugged. "Fine, whatever," one of the other boys said, "See you later, yeah?" "Yeah," the boy said and nodded, "Later." The group left, some of the girls waving, and suddenly the café was empty. The boy glanced around disinterested, his huge eyes resting on Howard a moment before returning to a magazine on the table in front of him. Howard could hardly breathe, as if the air had been punched out of his lungs, as if his bare soul had been prodded. What was this boy doing, those eyes shouldn't have to look at something as ordinary and boring as Howard. He belonged on the dancefloor or a stage, or at least somewhere more colourful and lively than a tiny, down-trodden café frequented by nobodies. Old doubts returned to Howard, thoughts he'd not had in months, not since he started at the zoo. He had grown so confident lately, knowing that he was easily the most superior of the keepers and Tommy's favourite. And now just a short glance from this boy had wiped it all from his memory. What was he doing? What on earth gave him the right to talk to - even think about - someone like this? Could he even go over to him? What would he say? What if the boy didn't want to talk? And what would he think of Howard? What if Howard came across all desperate, like a child molester? His brain was buzzing again, noisy with too many questions and doubts. It had always been like that - until he had started at the zoo - and now it returned even louder, dizzying. Everything was muddled up now, ready to pound him to the ground. Only one voice could he make out clearly, Tommy's voice: "Howard, I need you to do me a favour." He couldn't let Tommy down like this, not with all that trouble at the zoo. He'd have to go through with it. "Hi," he found himself saying, standing by the boy, "Sorry, mind if I sit down?" The boy looked up at him, his eyes seemed even brighter now, shrugged and turned back to his magazine. "It's a free country." "What are you reading?" Howard asked, sitting down, hand on the table, afraid he might fall over. "Magazine," the boy answered. "Look," Howard said, deciding it was best to cut to the chase, "I have a proposition for you." The boy looked up again, raising his eyebrows. Could there be a creature more lovely anywhere? Everything he did seemed right, every facial expression suited him, as if he didn't even belong to this world. "Yeah?" "Yeah. I'm from the zoo. I'm Howard, by the way." "Vince," the boy answered, "Vince Noir, rock'n'roll star." "You're in a band?" "I'm in several bands, you've probably seen me out there, I'm a mesmeriser." "Sorry, no," Howard said guiltily. As if it was his fault he hadn't heard of Vince before. "Oh," Vince said and smiled, "I suppose our music's a bit too cutting edge for your taste anyway." "Oi, you," Howard said, "I'm cutting edge, I cut the cutting edge. Yessir, with my edge-cutter, I keep it in my garage." "I've seen your edge-cutter, it's as blunt as your hair-do," Vince answered. "What are you saying about my hair?" "I mean, look at it, what's going on there? It's as if it's not even there, it's like discarded spiders' webs." "Well, it's better than..." Howard began and stopped suddenly. Had they just said those things to each other? Were they actually having something like a conversation? A conversation that flowed this beautifully? A conversation that could seem as if they were throwing insults at each other, but was really just a laugh? As if Vince didn't actually mind talking to him? "Better than what?" Vince asked with a cheeky, little smile, "No haircut is better than mine, not even Bryan Ferry's. I should know." "Sorry," Howard said and looked away, suddenly sober again, "I don't usually talk about haircuts with strangers." But Vince giggled and Howard couldn't help turning back. And Vince's giggle wasn't nastily meant; he was just giggling because that's what he did. And Howard found himself smiling, as if they were sharing an inexplicable joke, a joke that neither even remembered now. But it didn't matter because it wasn't the joke itself they were laughing at: they were laughing just because they could. "Genius," Vince said, still smiling. "Anyway," Howard said, trying to straighten out his face, "I'm from the zoo, we have a job opening and we'd like you to take it." "Me?" Vince asked, his face suddenly changed, his smile replaced with distrust, "Why? What have you heard?" "Heard?" Howard asked, taken aback, "I haven't heard anything, I was just sent out to talk to you." "I'm not a freak," Vince snapped, "I won't be ogled at." "We're not going to put you on display," Howard said, smiling at Vince's silly idea, "We want you as a zookeeper." "It's not funny," Vince answered, almost angry now, "You don't know what it's like." "Know what what's like?" Howard asked, narrowing his eyes as he studied Vince's face, "Do people ask you to work at zoos often?" "You don't know?" Vince asked, leaning forward slightly, "You don't know why you want me at your zoo?" "No," Howard answered, "I was just sent here to talk to you. And it's not my zoo, not really." "I knew that," Vince answered, sitting back again, "Who would put you in charge of a zoo anyway? You'd lose track of your shoes if they didn't follow you around." Howard could have taken that bait in so many different ways, it ticked his insides with all its possibilities. But he couldn't: he was here to do a job. "So, what do you think?" he asked, "Do you want to come and work at the zoo?" "I'll tell you why you want me," Vince said, leaning forward again as if he couldn't keep still, resting his elbows on the table and dropping his voice conspiratorially, "I can talk to animals. You want to exploit my gift." "Talk to animals?" Howard asked, "You what now?" Was Vince pulling his leg? No-one could talk to animals, that was impossible. "I can," Vince answered, "Don't you believe me?" "Not really, no," Howard answered, "How long have I been talking to you, what, five minutes? First you tell me you're a rock and roll star in bands I've never heard of and then you tell me you can talk to animals. Of course I don't believe you." "Fine," Vince said and shrugged, "I'll just stay in school then." "What, you'll come and work at the zoo if I believe that you can talk to animals?" Vince sucked in his cheeks, making his cheekbones stand out even sharper, and wrinkled his nose as he mulled this over. "No?" "And why are you in school? You're not even in class." "I have this lesson off," Vince said, turning sharply to Howard, "I'm not bunking off if that's what you think." "I don't care what you're doing," Howard answered, "Why should I? You're not the centre of the universe." "I am right now," Vince answered, almost coyly, "Why else would you be talking to me?" Howard stared at him. Was it really possible to be that confident? He couldn't work him out. What was Vince seeing when he looked at Howard with those eyes of his, was he looking into his innermost thoughts? Could he see that Howard was already hugely taken by him? And who could blame him, Howard had never met anyone as beautiful. And especially not someone beautiful who also wanted to talk to him. Because Vince did want to talk to him, otherwise he wouldn't have stayed, would he? He wouldn't have told Howard that he could talk to animals if he didn't want to keep the conversation going. Unless this all was some sort of elaborate, cruel joke. "What?" Vince asked, still watching Howard, his face mirroring Howard's expression. "Nothing," Howard said, shaking himself, "Look, my boss asked me to tell you there's a job for you at the zoo if you're interested. If you're not, well..." He let the last sentence hang there in the air, half-way between a threat and a promise. Vince frowned, clearly battling with himself. "I've got exams..." "What, GCSEs?" "Yeah." "GCSEs aren't important," Howard said, "They don't teach you anything about the real world. Come and work at the zoo, you'll like it." "Do you work there?" "Yeah." "What with?" "Hoofed mammals mostly," Howard answered, "And in the aviary sometimes." "I like monkeys," Vince mused, mussing up his hair, "And frogs and lizards. And sealife. I like most animals, really." He seemed to be changing his mind and Howard waited for him to finish thinking before speaking again. "So?" "Yeah," Vince said, meeting Howard's eyes and smiling, "Alright, I'll come and work at the zoo." * You didn't like the look on Tommy's face when you came back to the zoo with Vince in tow, did you, Howard? It wasn't a cruel look. No, far from it. Tommy seemed so happy to see Vince, as if he'd been looking forward to this moment for ages and ages. And as Tommy introduced himself and started telling Vince about the zoo (he used the exact same words and phrases he had when he had told you about it all that time ago), you saw in Tommy's face desire clear as day. Tommy fancied Vince! Of course you didn't use those exact words in your mind, but in essence that was what you thought. Were you jealous, Howard? Did Tommy's sidelong glances up at Vince as he showed him around make your insides burn? Did the way Tommy touched Vince's arm when he pointed out the different porpoises make you want to push Tommy into the pool and never let his head re-emerge out of the water? Was it jealousy, Howard? If it wasn't, what was it then? You still trusted Tommy, you knew he'd never harm Vince, so it couldn't be that you were worried for Vince's safety, could it? Admit it, Howard, your secret's safe here: you were jealous. You wanted Vince for yourself, as if it were you who'd found him. You fancied him, didn't you, Howard? You fancied him the same way you had fancied Tommy. How quickly your feelings for Tommy transformed. When you had left the zoo this morning you adored Tommy with all your heart. When you returned and saw him looking up at Vince with that leering gaze of his you hated him. That's how you knew what they were talking about and what they looked at: you followed them, didn't you, Howard? And you hated yourself for it. Why's that, Howard? You still don't know. Strange things, emotions, aren't they? Tommy showed Vince into the Lizard Lounge and you hovered by outside, pretending to be sweeping. "Move, Moon!" came that dreaded voice and you scampered out of Bainbridge's way. He burst into the Lizard Lounge, shouting at Tommy. You hid quickly behind a corner as they re-emerged and heard their conversation perfectly. "What the hell is this, Nooka?" "Your finger?" Tommy answered. "I own your arse, Nooka, don't be making jokes if you know what's best for you. You know exactly what I'm talking about. How dare you go and hire new people, I never gave you permission." "He has a gift, he will be the best zookeeper you will ever see, just you wait." "You will tell him he's fired." "I most certainly will not. This is my zoo and I run it as I see fit." "I think you'll find, Nooka, it is yours in name only. I run this ship now." "And I think you should remember Zoo Regulation 409, subsection C." But just then there was a high-pitched screech from the Lizard Lounge. "Pray excuse me, work calls," Tommy said. "You, sir, are going nowhere," Bainbridge answered. You heard Tommy squeak and you peered carefully around the corner. And you saw Bainbridge holding onto Tommy's shoulder, digging his gloved fingers deeply into Tommy's flesh, Tommy's face screwed up in agony. But you didn't care. You didn't care if Tommy was in pain. You almost smiled. "You'll see me in my office," Bainbridge said, "You'll come quietly and without a fuss." With every syllable you heard Tommy yelp, and you knew Bainbridge was pinching him harder. But you didn't care, did you, Howard? Because as they passed by, you heard a second screech from the Lizard Lounge: Vince! You rushed to him like a mother wolf to the rescue, slamming the doors open. Vince was standing frozen by the frog pond, staring at something on the bank. He was trembling, as if fearing for his life. You walked up to him, carefully, trying to discern what it was he was looking at. Then you saw: it was a newt. A newt had managed to get into the frog pond and was standing staring back at Vince, ready to pounce. "There, there, little man," you said, the endearment falling so easily from your lips as if you'd been calling him that all your life, "It's just a newt, don't panic." But Vince didn't answer, still staring at the newt and trembling. Could you...? Could you touch him? Could you take hold of those shoulders and gently bring him back to the real world and save him from the newt and become the hero of the day? The newt began opening its mouth slowly and you heard Vince gasp slightly and he trembled worse. You couldn't dally, you knew not making up your mind fast enough could have disastrous results. So you took hold of Vince's shoulders. "It's alright, little man, it's just a newt." Vince seemed to snap out of his trance and turned sharply towards you. "I didn't... It just..." "It's just a newt," you told him, "It sensed your surprise and started staring at you. You were trembling. Never tremble with a newt, Vince: it changes sex." "Really?" Vince was looking up at you, you still had your hands on his shoulders, you were standing so close. "Really," you answered. "I didn't know that," he said and put his head to one side, "It was telling me to get out of this place, that there's some bad ju-ju going on round here." You almost laughed then. Were Vince's words funny? Or was it relief? Or nerves, perhaps, because you were so close to him, you could see the fine details in his face and in his eyes? Or because what he said the newt had told him was true? "That Tommy bloke," Vince said, "Is he coming back? I like him." You let go of him then, as if he'd burnt your palms. * Howard sat in the cafeteria with a cup of tea going cold in front of him, just brooding. It wasn't fair. It was not fair. He'd just rescued everyone from a rampant llama and all Tommy did was accuse him of bestiality and hit him with a broom. He'd just saved the zoo from being closed; that llama had hoofed vicars and doctors and little girls. No-one had been able to get near it but him. So what if calming it had involved him getting off with it? Wasn't the end more important than the means? "Hey, you finished with the sugar?" came a voice and Howard looked up. Fossil was standing there with a cup of coffee in his hand. "Yeah," Howard said, waving his hand vaguely in the direction of the sugar cup, "Help yourself." "Did you see the long-necked spittle-man running loose today?" Fossil asked, sitting down and spooning sugar into his coffee, "I heard some guy made out with it." "Yeah, yeah," Howard answered. If Fossil was pulling a joke he was not amused. "Bainbridge is really pissed, said Tommy let it out on purpose, to make a mess and underdig him." "Undermine him," Howard corrected without thinking, "Is Bainbridge really saying that?" "Yeah," Fossil said, his face glowing like a schoolboy that had just recited his homework perfectly, "Bainbridge has been trying to get rid of Tommy for weeks and weeks." "Oh yeah?" Howard couldn't help getting curious. He wouldn't mind if Bainbridge got rid of Tommy. "Yeah," Fossil answered, "But they've got lots of papers with long words on them, they make the road rocky, Bainbridge says. He can't fire Tommy, it's in the papers. And he can't ever own the zoo until after Tommy's dead." After Tommy's dead. Howard shouldn't be thinking such a thought. Tommy couldn't die, he was a proper man, a man of action, men of action don't die. But wasn't it Tommy who had told him ages ago that we all die...? Howard couldn't believe he was thinking such a thought. Was he really contemplating what life would be like if Tommy was dead? He'd have Vince all to himself then. And he'd no longer live in fear of being beaten up and verbally abused. Obviously Bainbridge would be running the zoo, but perhaps that wouldn't be so bad after all. Perhaps if Tommy wasn't there to make life difficult for him, Bainbridge would turn out to be quite a good zoo-owner. Perhaps the reason he hadn't properly got to know the detailed runnings of the zoo was that he didn't want to have to talk to Tommy all the time. Perhaps with Tommy out of the way, Bainbridge would buy some new animals to replace the ones that had died lately. Life wouldn't be that bad if Tommy wasn't in it, really. Howard smiled as he thought about it. Him and Vince sitting outside the Keepers' Hut drinking coffee and chatting. Him and Vince being on nightwatch and looking after the zoo. Him and Vince travelling to and from work together on the tram system. Him and Vince working their way up the ranks, becoming king keepers. It would be brilliant. "Maybe Bainbridge shouldn't try and fire Tommy," Howard said, looking at Fossil, "Tommy could be made to disappear, you know." "What, in Naboo's magic cabinet?" Fossil asked with a sneer. "No, of course not," Howard answered, "I mean, look around, this is a zoo. There are plenty of dangers out there." Fossil stared blankly back at Howard a moment before the suggestion sunk in and a smile grew on his face. "I've just got an idea," he said, as if he had surprised himself, "I gotta go, I... gotta... pick some flowers." He was on his feet so quickly he almost knocked his chair over and hurried out of the cafeteria, leaving Howard behind smiling to himself. * You don't remember the next morning very well, do you, Howard? The only thing you remember clearly is that you had Vince standing next to you. "Listen up," Bainbridge said, pointing out at the group of zookeepers standing there in front of him, "I have important news. Tommy Nooka, the owner of this zoo, fell in the Ocelot Pit last night." A gasp moved through the crowd. "He was killed instantly, the ocelots munched him down, there was no possibility of escape. I'm sure he'll be missed." No-one could speak, everyone was standing in shock. Except you, Howard. You almost laughed. To think, Tommy was no more, as if your little chat with Fossil last night had made your darkest, innermost desire come true. It wasn't you who had pushed Tommy into the Ocelot Pit. But it was still you who killed him, wasn't it, Howard? Because you put that idea into Fossil's head and Fossil told it to Bainbridge. Had he told Bainbridge it was your idea or had he presented it as his own? If he had told Bainbridge it was your idea, did that mean Bainbridge would be blackmailing you now? You'd have to watch your step. But you weren't worried about that just now; all you were thinking about was Vince. Because Vince was standing there with his hand over his mouth, struck dumb with shock like the rest of them. Yesterday you'd been so unsure if you could touch him. Now you didn't even think twice about it, as if there was no barrier between him and you any more, and you lay your arm around his shoulder. He looked up at you with huge, scared eyes. "Is he dead, Howard?" he asked, his voice tiny like a lost child. You squeezed his shoulder and he snuggled closer, looking for comfort. "I'm afraid so, little man." "And," Bainbridge continued, "The Jungle Room is shut. No-one is allowed in there. No questions. Get back to work. Good day." "What do I do now?" Vince asked, looking up at you, "Tommy was going to teach me everything he knew." Everyone was wandered sombrely back to work but Vince didn't pull away from your embrace. "You'll stay here, of course," you said, "The job's still yours." "But I don't know anything." "I'll teach you." "Really?" He didn't seem to believe you could even teach an apple how to fall to the ground. "Yeah, you can be my apprentice." "Apprentice?" he asked, unable to hide his smile, "Who are you, the Wizard of Oz? No-one has apprentices any more." "If you don't want training that's fine," you said, "Go back to school if you want." You would never have spoken to anyone else like this, as if you didn't care; anyone else you would have begged to stay. But you knew that Vince knew you weren't serious, you knew he knew exactly what you meant. It was as if the two of you had the same mind, a mind that understood the other perfectly. Vince smiled properly now and looked down. "Nah, I'll stay. A couple of days at least." Those days became weeks, weeks became months and soon it was as if you'd never done anything else. You never let yourself think about Tommy and soon he slipped out of your mind, as if he had only appeared in a distant dream. We all dream, but do we really dream? Vince showed you the magic in the world, the magic you hadn't dared believe existed before. He showed you that there were magical things happening just around the next corner, if only you were prepared to open up your heart to them. No-one made you happier than him and yet no-one made you doubt yourself more. Everything he did and said affected you, every frown filled you with despair and every little smile made your whole world joyous. A Mrs Gideon was hired to take care of the Reptile House. You pretended to be in love with her to keep Vince in his place, as if to make sure his ego didn't grow too big with all the attention you were giving him. But he knew you were only pretending and he didn't care at all. You often remembered your first conversation with him: "You're not the centre of the universe," you had told him and he had answered "I am right now." And he was, always.
its a big VERY BIG text about me venting, pls skip it, im writing one more of this bc i have a lot to say but you can skip it, im sorry for putting this giant shit on y'all dashes, im sending love for all of you in return <3
I promised myself i wouldn't talk about it, bc it didnt bother me that much, but the truth is it does, it bothers me a lot, but i feel like a burden whenever i dare to talk about it with anyone.
so i am here, as always.
it´s utopic to believe that this day wouldn't arrive - even though i did believe, it´s even more utopic to believe that i wouldn't be sad, of course i would, i am and i should. perhaps it´s some kind of ending cycle? i dont know, yet i believe in ending cycles and shit, but i doubt it has anything to do with that. i feel like my life is worse, it is going to be worse and this is the beggining of it. i could be wrong. i hope i am.
well, anyone but me could (and probably will) call this a big drama show, which isn't a complete lie, it kinda is too dramatic, but i like being dramatic, it's within me, i am a drama queen even though i hate to admit (this is a secret, it's the first and last time i'm admiting this shit)
she grew up with me, by my side, listening to all my problems and i listened all hers, we were there for each other since the beggining, we believed it would last forever but it seems like the forever has arrived. it´s been 2 years that we are living a part, it´s 5 hours to get to her city and i can't go there alone, although i am 20 yo (and so is she) i still depend on my parents bc im unemployed, so i travel to see her when my parents let me, which is rarely, she traveled to see me once (and keep rubbing it in). Last time we saw each other was jan/2020, before the pandemic starts, her birthday was in may and she got really mad at me that i didn't travel to see her, i tried to explain that i wasn't leaving my house for anything, besides my parents would never let me travel to another city in the middle of a global pandemic, to this day she still doesnt understand this.
however this isn't the first nor the worst thing she has done to me, i think our relationship got shaken up the day i realized she was trying to fuck me up, another friend of mine (who knows us like forever, but she doesn´t like this friend god knows why) warned me that she always manipulates me, that´s why i dont have any friends besides her, that's why i believe so strongly that i'm not able to have any other friendships, bc she always finds a way to make me fight with the other person and have my attetion all to her again (i don't actually believe that, bc c'mon... im not THAT interesting or pretty or whatever for ppl to be obssessed with me, but anyway..).
the worst thing i believe she did was poisoning my relationship with my boyfriend (i'm going to tell everything, im so sorry but i really need to vent and it helps me practice my english skills lol i hope no one is actually reading it) when we started dating (sep/2019) she went to his DMs and said a lot of weird shit about my family being formal people (?), which isn't true at all, and about my past, some stuff that a best friend shouldn't tell her soul and she told my 1-day-boyfriend, bc of that he (obviously) got triggered and it started a vicious, toxic cycle that she kept feeding until i told him to block her, after that it took us almost a whole year to find a way out of that cycle, now we are fine, recovered and they hate each other to the soul. from there on our friendship was never the same, i was so intrigued to know why the hell she did that and kept doing it, but she never gave me a proper answer, it was ALWAYS something like "it was for your own good, this guy isn't right for you, he is going to hurt you, i'm protecting you, i'm sorry you didn't like it but i was thinking about your safety, what if he was going to kill you?" i'm not joking, she did say those things more than once for me, ofc i know it was a big load of bs, i know the guy i'm with and altough we had some ugly problems he is not a criminal, he had issues which given the situation was understandable (now that i know everything that happened).
im sorry about this big text but theres another one coming lol im really sorry
POST 1 : The scene takes place with a  women named Naiomi Marie
Her name was Naiomi but she goes by the name Marie.  She lived a fast life in the city of Los Angeles. Fast money schemes, scamming, and gambling is all she knew to get by and never really had a guaranteed place to lay her head.   Never had a reliable source of support to help due to the company she keeps and having a family consisted of only takers, liars and pedophiles.
A post shared by ☆꧁:..::.:.:jazZeLLe::.::.:.꧂☆ (@uglyworldwide) on Sep 18, 2020 at 12:49pm PDT
In some cases when she needed help it was difficult for her sisters to help when needed because of the close association she had with the streets of Los Angeles and the lies she feeds to them.  Naiomi had a big heart and would give the shirt off her back and she did try to get her life together but only found herself deep within her darkest desires and sinful passions.
IT WAS MAY 5, 2018
It was her 1 month anniversary with her Boyfriend so they were going to celebrate together that night.
Tumblr media
That day Naomi dropped off her boyfriend and had to go back to her friends house to pick something up.  She was just down the street from her boyfriends house. She came up to a stop and was about to turn onto the intersection. Before she gets in the middle of the intersection everything went black.  Naiomi got hit from a speeding car and died instantly as the driver flees the scene.
A WORLD DESTORYED BY HUMANS
The people of the world continued to live their lives pursuing higher education and careers, acquiring wealth, people marrying and starting families and new developments being constructed.
Tumblr media
All of this was normal however the people of the Earth were consuming the planets resources and taking no note of its consequences.  The subjects of the Earth were pushing the planet beyond its natural cycles by over-population, burning fossil fuels and deforestation causing the environment to change.
Tumblr media
Chaos filled the Earth. Wars across the entire planet caused WWIII and then a great tribulation fell upon the subjects of the Earth.
Tumblr media
Natural disasters occurred from one place to another. There were earthquakes, unexplained tornados and even a horrible disease killing over 2 million people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A cosmic power approached the Earth changing its landscapes, its oceans, and even the people.
Tumblr media
And that's when Naomi awoke from her deep sleep.
Tumblr media
POST 2 :    NAIOMI FOUND HERSELF IN A NEW WORLD NAMED UTOPIA
The Earth has changed and Naomi didn’t know where she was.  There she stood and seen that the Earth had been cleansed of all its crimes and pollution.  Naiomi began to cry tears of confusion and joy as she tries to remember what happen to her and her world.
Tumblr media
With her head in her hands someone touches Naomi's right shoulder.  It was another human but this person looked as if she was from the future.
Tumblr media
Her name was Star.  “We have to go!” as she grabs Naiomi’s shoulder.
“Go where?” Naiomi says.
As they ran to the first City Forest of Utopia, Star teaches Naiomi that she been resurrected along with others to join forces to fight the evil spirit that has been locked away by the Alpha & Omega.
Tumblr media
“The Alpha and Omega?” Naiomi said.
“Yes, we will teach you his ways by mastering the skill of sword and martial arts. We don’t have much time.  The Alpha put Legion away 500 years ago and after 1000 years he will be let out.” Star says.
Naiomi also learned that the people of the Earth don’t age or grow old and die so Star was about 5000 yrs old.
“I guess I have some time. Why do I need to train now?” ask Naiomi.
“A day means 1000 years to the AO so we mustn’t let our old ways of the world distract us of what's important now.  We must prepare our hearts, minds and spirit to withstand this test of Legion. We also don’t know what this test is. It can be anything.  We must trust the Creator and his ways.  It’s the only way.”
Star and the other leads of City Forest 2994 train those who were resurrected that day.
Tumblr media
POST 3 :  THE FINAL TEST
Legion arose from its abyss along with other demons and started to turn the minds of those who were weak against one another.  Those who didn’t train there minds and hearts during those 1000 years were mislead by Legion.
Tumblr media
People started to lie, cheat and steal. Then the people of Utopia begin to hear reports of wars in other parts of the planet.  Those who’ve  trained well were able to stand the test of time and protect themselves however became outnumbered by the wicked people.
Tumblr media
The righteous Utopians didn’t know what to do and then all of sudden a light came from up above striking the Legion to its death, his followers and the wicked people of Utopia.  Legion who was misleading the entire inhabited earth from the beginning of time was finally destroyed.   FOREVER.
Tumblr media
Everyone on Utopia grew to perfection and was able to form a lasting bond with the Alpha and Omega.  The Alpha & Omega provided new information to the people of Utopia and helping the people to become an advance species. The powerful force created new things for the Earth and the people of Utopia were able to fly and teleport to other areas of the Earth.
vimeo
Years passed and the people of Utopia was given the opportunity to speak to the Alpha & Omega.  It was Naiomi’s turn to speak to the AO and she was very frighten of his power and glory.
Tumblr media
“Don’t be afraid, come closer Naiomi.” AO says.
Because of the Creators dynamic power He already knew what Naiomi’s thoughts were and what questions she had for him.  Before Naiomi could think of words to say to him He started to speak to her.
“You are here because you are to inhabit the world that I have given you. I have been watching you for a very long time. I have seen that you have a humble, yet modest heart and you will give to those who are truly in need. In the past I’ve seen you help the poor one, the fatherless child and the weak.  If you did it those people you have done it to me as well.  The heart that you had when you died is still the same and you have shown me your loyalty.”
Today I am given you a planet of your own and others will also have this opportunity as well.  Please take these seeds and bring along with you two of each kind of animal upon the earth and travel to the farthest corners of the universe.  My force will tell you when its time to land. Go and live your purpose and be what you were created to be.” he tells Naiomi.
Naiomi drops to her knees. Eyes filled with tears of joy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In loving memory of my sister Naiomi Marie Jones  (May 13, 1983 - May 05, 2018
Stop racing in the streets and take it to the tracks!!!!
After moving into a new house with a complicated water softener system, I was at a bit of a loss as to what to do to get the drinking water system serviced. We also had issues with the brine tank not using up its salt. Advanced Water Solutions were very helpful when I spoke to them on the phone, and the technician who came out (a fellow Tim!), was very competent and thorough at fixing the issues.
Advanced Water Solutions (AWS) has exceeded our expectations! From the first phone call to final installation, AWS lived up to the stellar reviews we read before contacting them. Paul, the director of sales, arrived for his appointment with us. He tested our water, explained the results, and what our options we had. There was no pressure placed on us at any time. He clearly described what the AWS systems did so we could make our decision. We decided on the AWS100 Whole Home Water Softener and the Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water System.On the day set for installation the installer, Danny, arrived on time. He impressed my wife and I with his overall courtesy and professionalism. He struck us as extremely competent at installing these products. He answered all questions we had, and did so thoroughly. He worked tirelessly and without complaint. I would rate him as the best installer one could hope for.If you are considering a water system for your home, you owe it to yourself to consider AWS. They will soften and treat your water the way you would expect. Conditioned water protects your home. For drinking, the Reverse Osmosis System replaces all the costly filters and plastic bottles too. Very happy that we researched first and selected Advanced Water Solutions!
I have used Advanced Water Solutions and their Reverse Osmosis equipment in my home for over two decades. The owner, Jay, has always been great to work with, and his staff are skilled, professional, and easy to talk with. Tim recently performed the annual service on my equipment, and like Alanzo, he knows what he is doing and is happy to explain it all to me. One of the great things about their equipment is that it is a huge water saver because it uses a lot less to make the RO water than other equipment available. I have referred Advanced to family and friends all over the Santa Barbara and Ventura areas and like me, they stay with Jay and Advanced for years.
When I read our municipal water company’s disclosure about the chemicals added to ensure our city water is safe, I was concerned about the monochloramine (which is a combination of chlorine and ammonia). My husband was on board with filtering our water and trusted Advanced Water Solutions because he knew some their satisfied customers. We chose an AWS125 water softener with a whole-house carbon filter. Alonso did our installation and he was terrific. His work was impeccable and he clearly explained what he was doing and how the system worked. After the installation, Alonso tested the water, which we watched, explained the results and patiently answering our questions. We are thoroughly satisfied with the complete filtration system.
My long serving and rare Braswell Water Softener failed over the weekend. All the available water was salty with a capital T. Called this am first thing. They sent Danny out this afternoon. He was here 10 minutes checked a couple of possible causes. Very professional and knowledgeable. Had it nailed in short order. He explained thoroughly, had the necessary parts in the truck and was outta' here in 30 minutes. Very reasonable charges and I'm back in business. The way things are supposed to work but rarely does. Thank you Danny you're an ace! Thank you AWS. Well done all!
Gettin’ Schooled by Gracie and Rachel
Gracie and Rachel are a finish-each-other’s-sentences, knows-what- the-other-is-thinking, musical soulmate, power duo. They are wise beyond their years, which is reflected in their music and in their conversation. They build each other up and seem to constantly strive to understand each other, so they can better understand themselves. Throughout our interview, they offered tidbits of honesty and advice and honestly, I could have talked to them for hours. And not just because it would have been cheaper than seeing a therapist (and probably with better results). They’re a team of soul-searching, wisdom-spewers who have a lot to say, and they’re saying it on their second album, “Hello Weakness, You Make Me Strong.”
Their new album out this Friday, reflects how life imitates art. And in their case, art imitates life. Their personal growth parallels their development as musicians. They show that beauty can be made, if we can come to terms with our own weaknesses. The two speak freely about addressing their shortcomings fearlessly and head on, and the result is an empowering and ageless album. Their recent video for “Underneath” shows how determined Gracie and Rachel are to be honest with themselves, even if it means making themselves vulnerable.
Mossy: Have you known each other a long time?
Gracie: We met in high school (in Berkeley, California). We were in a dance class together and were assigned to play music for the class. It was kind of an arranged marriage in that way. And then we went off to separate music schools for university, and then came back together to New York City and moved to Bushwick.
Mossy: So what were you like when you were younger, before you knew each other? What was your path like?
Rachel: My path was very serious, and exclusively tied to me, myself, and the violin. I hopped around between public schools, and then I went to a boarding school for two years before meeting Gracie. So I would say, for me, it was just being in this machine of classical music breeding. (Laughs)
Mossy: Was that something that you wanted to do, or you got pushed into doing, or both?
Rachel: I think it was a little bit of both. I feel like there were a lot of blinders up, because there wasn’t a lot of encouragement to explore other genres of music, or how you can use your skills as a classical violinist in alternative ways. I knew that I loved music, and I loved playing the violin and it was working for me, and I liked all that. But I wouldn’t say I always felt socially that comfortable, or like I integrated well or that we had similar interests. I had a lot of different interests in music, like contemporary classical music, and avant pop music. So meeting Gracie gave me this opportunity to explore those interests in a nonjudgmental environment.
Mossy: Yeah, sometimes you need that one musical soulmate for your whole world to change. What did you listen to growing up?
Rachel: Around the house I would listen to a lot of Cyndi Lauper, Elton John, Selena. I would do a dance hour with boom boxes and stuff. But in high school, I got into Regina Spektor, Emily Wells going into college. Artists that had a classical approach, but were flipping it and doing something a little different with it.
Gracie: I didn’t come from as strict of training as Rachel did, so I was really grateful to meet somebody who had that theoretical knowledge, and was just going to ground me a little bit. I was just sort of free form writing songs, and it was just really such a good challenge to meet somebody who needed to know what we’re gonna play and how. And it made me have to be a little bit more regimented and focused in that way. My father was a theater director, and he did avant garde opera music and New Age music. So I was around a lot of composers and people doing some experimental stuff that I think really excited me at a very young age. My dad got me into Erik Satie as a pianist when I was younger. And then I got into my own little singer songwriter world and found people like Fiona Apple that I really loved. And then thought, “Maybe I could do that, too.”
Mossy: I think your music is a really good amalgamation of all those influences. It’s really unique. I love the new album. It sounds to me like a coming of age sort of album. And I don’t mean that it sounds young. I mean, I’m forty and I think I just finished my coming of age album! But just in that it feels like there’s been a development in your lives. Is that true?
Gracie: Yeah. I think that the first record was really just us as a piano and violin duo. And we only integrated drums because the producer we were working with had a drum kit in his car that he needed to bring into our loft.
Rachel: Not even a kit, just one drum! (Laughs)
Gracie: Yeah! Just one drum. Which was a happy accident because it got us to play with the kick drum. Like it became an intentional thing, where it was a kick drum on it’s side, so it was like a timpani, like a classical drum. But they’d rock out on it, and we’d have our drummer there to complete the three piece. But the bones were just piano, violin, and drum. And there wasn’t a lot of other experimentations and using synthesizers and our vocals in different ways. Rachel has experimented so much more as a producer on this record. And I think a lot of it has been about our process of living together and working together, and how we communicate very differently personally and musically. We’re really quite opposite in a lot of ways, and I think that’s where this album started to make a lot of sense to us. In finding strength in those oppositions. Finding strength in our weaknesses, and in what the other person has that we don’t individually possess. So it feels coming of age in that regard.
Mossy: Can you think of a specific example when you realized your weakness makes you stronger?
Gracie: I think in a really basic way, maybe Rachel will find something more interesting to talk about (laughs), but I’m a lot chattier and confronting. And transparency is my favorite thing to, you know, flush out a problem when it happens. And Rachel is a little more guarded and patient and more like, “Let’s work through it maybe in this way first, or work through it on your own first.” And I need that immediate action. So I think really me learning that about her, and where that was useful, and vice versa.
Rachel: Yeah, I was gonna say it’s seeing that other person’s perceived weakness, and how it makes you stronger.
Gracie: Right. Like for Rachel it can be hard not to confront certain things, and for me it can be hard when I confront them too often. I can create problems in my mind by confronting issues that aren’t maybe there. So taking maybe what is Rachel’s weakness and using it as my strength, and my weakness as her strength.
Rachel: Like a reflection.
Gracie: And us just finding and really capitalizing on those oppositional forces between us, and finding gratitude for them. We can’t all be like one complete perfect person, and I think when we accept that and we dance with our weaknesses as a strength, it’s a really beautiful thing.
Mossy: Where do you think all of your wisdom and self-awareness comes from?
Gracie and Rachel: (Laughs)
Gracie: Socrates. I don’t know. I’m a really anxious person and sometimes a lot of these songs are written to myself, to just get out of my head and get into the big picture of calming down. I really can’t apply that wisdom very well a lot of the time. (Laughs) So writing these songs to my subconscious is kind of like a way of processing and helping me not judge myself. “When you don’t know, you know” is really powerful Socratic thinking. That we can’t have it all figured out and when we think that we do, that’s when we’re really not learning anything at all.
Rachel: Also, I would say sometimes I feel my weakness has been not being able to find my language tools effectively, articulate something, and translate myself in a productive way. So really where I find the way to translate myself the best is sonically. So this record was a great opportunity that I kind of lifted that up. And it’s okay that I don’t always have all the words. It’s okay that I still have a feeling, and I can put it down, and hopefully communicate through sound rather than through lyrics.
Gracie: I think just finding a perceived weakness of yours and not judging it, but exploring it and opening yourself to it can be just such a revolutionary act. When we have all of this self judgment, we are gonna have that out in the world, too. So I think owning some deficits that we each individually have, has been really helpful to our growth.
Mossy: What are some of the things that trigger anxiety for you?
Gracie: Pfffhhh…what doesn’t trigger anxiety? (Laughs) I think I’m an over-thinker, so I can create fear and worry around a scenario that I might have actually perpetuated just by thinking about it so much.
Rachel: I think we’re both people pleasers. We really like to make everybody feel really heard, and like we’re being respectful. And sometimes we forget to check in with how we’re feeling, and what we’re thinking.
Mossy: It seems like some of your songs touch on mental health. Is that something that’s big for you?
Rachel: We’re both in therapy. (Laughs)
Gracie: Yeah, I think we’re curious about talking about how to be gentle with ourselves. And hopefully that’s something that speaks to a broader issue around mental health. And just that when we aren’t gentle with ourselves, we can really create some huge roadblocks and pain for ourselves. So I think and hope the songs are speaking to a sort of forgiveness of the self.
Mossy: I read somewhere that you said the album made you have to ask each other some difficult questions when you were creating it. Can you talk about any of those?
Gracie: I think it comes back to communication in a lot of ways. Asking Rachel to call me out and come to me with stuff that was maybe not something she wanted to do. And her asking me to have patience with that.
Rachel: Yeah, not scrutinizing every little thing and seeing where it leads us, because maybe it doesn’t lead anywhere.
Gracie: Yeah, letting things roll of the shoulders. Something we were realizing is Rachel tends to judge her emotions and put them into boxes. And therefore if she can’t judge them…
Rachel: I’m just not gonna acknowledge them at all.
Gracie: And I judge my emotions with too much weight, I give them too much weight, where I need to actually compartmentalize them and put them in a box, and put them away. So I think it was asking each other how the other does that, because we do things so differently, and it gets us both into trouble.
Tumblr media
Mossy: Were there any specific defining experiences that inspired this album?
Rachel: Trusting ourselves, trusting each other.
Gracie: Yeah, trust. We had just come off a big, long tour. And our management told us, “Okay, when you get off this tour, you’re gonna go and you’re gonna write a record.” And I remember just feeling like it’s so bizarre to create art on demand, or on command. And there was a really big fear around that, because we’d been touring for the past couple of years and we were like, “Do we know how to write still?” Do we know how to do that when it’s not coming from an emotional reaction, or a response to a real life event? Like when we’re told to do something, are we gonna be able to do that? And there was a big concept of trust with each other and with ourselves, and we just had to lean into that and say, “Okay, ultimately we have to trust ourselves, and no one else.” And we just went for it. And we had to build that muscle, and it definitely took some time of just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what landed. But we hadn’t really pushed ourselves to trust ourselves, and I think a lot of the songs are speaking to that and to process, and showing up to process, and not being afraid of it. We used to write so individually and then we would bring it to each other. And now it’s like we’re so much more comfortable, just from pushing ourselves to create on the spot. “Write ugly, edit pretty” has become a saying in our household. Just don’t worry about obsessing on it, and I think we apply that to a lot of things in our lives now. We need to just write ugly and edit pretty. Figure it out later, but trust your instincts.
Rachel: Like Patti Smith said, “Freedom is the right to say it wrong.”
Gracie: And then the Kavanaugh hearings. Christine Blasey Ford was giving her testimony when we were in the middle of writing this record. And we saw a lot of really empowering women and people coming forward with their stories, and so there was a big feeling of empowerment. We were finishing the song “Trust” during that time.
And we were like, this isn’t just about trusting our narcissistic fears about writing, it was about trusting ourselves to do something when it’s not always comfortable or easy. So we wrote a number of songs during that time. And we put one of them out that was about the hearings, just because it felt like we couldn’t wait another six months to make the record. We just wanted to have a conversation with people about it then. It’s really cool when you can talk about what’s happening right now, because so much of music culture is, you know, people were working on something for a year, and now the album’s coming out and they’re in a different place. Like, Rachel had more hair when we were making the first record. (Laughs)
Rachel: And also to use our art in that way is a great privilege. Follow Gracie and Rachel on IG @gracieandrachel
𝕮𝖔𝖒𝖎𝖈 𝖇𝖔𝖔𝖐 𝖈𝖔𝖓𝖋𝖎𝖉𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖎𝖆𝖑 - 𝕾𝖙𝖆𝖌𝖊 𝖙𝖍𝖗𝖊𝖊 | 15/06/20
September is shaping up for the students taking the second year (extended diploma), and so far, it seems that we will be around 20 students by Sep. Due to the pandemic, we will most likely be coming into school in groups of 10  as we easy into it; at the same time, our grades are coming up soon, so we are asked to stay tuned for any news regarding this.
We had our third zoom meeting; this time focusing on how we are going to go forward with this project, practically speaking.
Topic: Animation & Illustration Progression - Review of Viewfinder drawings
Time: Jun 15, 2020 11:00 AM London
Hi guys,
Mondays class will review Viewfinder drawings and also we will show and tell progress, asking the question well how do we turn this into a comic.
The aim is 5 pages of at least 3 panels by the time we return in September....I am just checking on progress towards this.
See you Monday,
DD
Tumblr media
How can we connect what we have done so far with the goal of this brief (making a comic)?
Gutters are important to comics, as they are what differenciate the panels from eachother, allowing us to convey a sense of time and space – essentially becoming a time traveler. Because of the gutter, we get a sense of closure at the end of each panel, which then connects to the context of the next panel.
Something similar to this that we did last year was our post it note sequences; they were made up of seperate frames, but came together to create one image; a story/narrative/meaning/visual. At the same time; the post it note comic brief that we did this year is again, very similar to what we are trying to create with this project, only much more refined.
We are still required to being open to experiment with the medium/mediums we have chosen or planned to use for our comic strips. An example of this could be the artist we study, Sam Elston and his use of ink:
Tumblr media
Here he has done some light sketching and then gone over it with a brushline; keeping in simplistic and clean.
Tumblr media
Where as here he has done some lino printing; creating some really interesting textures, also causing irregularity between the pattern of the coffins, engaging the viewers eyes to look at them not only as a whole, but individually.
Tumblr media
Here he is using coloured ink to make each character pop out between the linework as well as to further convey that they are devils.
This is all the same medium; but used differently- exactly what we are aiming to be doing. - We are not required to use fine-liners and/or ink, but any kind of medium that we would like. All we have to keep in mind is tone and texture; much like last weeks example of Jon McNaught’s work.
- Art can be whatever you want follow basic instructions from Powerpoint link processes back to artists we look at.
- Read pages of book on panelling comics to aid the creation.
- Think about texture and tonality
Tumblr media
McCloud animation book, on transitions; how we move from one frame to another. This is a crucial element in comic although it seems obvious. There are 6 different ways this can be done, determining how we read and understand a comic.
section 1.
Moment to moment. It is similar to animation and sequences; little changes making it look as if it is moving, creating fluidity; needing very little closure this making it is easy to understand and read.
section 2.
Action to action - similar to the idea of animation - show the frames as the first and last frame of a sequence ? the before and the after. still in the moment.
section 3.
Subject to subject is a little more complex compared to the previous two. getting reader more engaged. you don’t have to look much to understand the previous two, but for this you must work a little harder as a reader. Involving the readers is crucial, and it can be done with this with a dramatic scene, creating a plot/story.
section 4.
Scene to scene. Moving to country to country/time traveling can be a powerful tool for convey time. An example of this could be a a frame of someone in a field with a tree, then jumping to a shot inside your kitchen.
section 5.
Aspect to aspect can jump through time and space easily. We are not worried with time for this as we can jump through it– setting up a place and mood. An example of this could be the example from last week of Jon McNaught’s comic.
section 6.
Non-sequential is when you almost do a jump cut; showing a harsh juxtaposition between subjects (frames).
Tumblr media
We are expected to be looking at a range of different mark making, again, to experiment with our chosen medium/mediums; all to create a sense of depth.
I would like to focus on doing most of my comics digitally; since i feel that this, as a medium, is quite misunderstood as being “fake” and not as valued as “traditional” art such as pencil, paint, sculpting etc. -
With this in mind, we must make sure that we aren’t just doing “whatever” “just because”, but for a reason; this being mine.
Tumblr media
This project is just for us to have a go at it; to do some research if unsure, but make sure to look at some comic books to reflect upon.
By the end of the meeting, we shared our work with the class; giving feedback to each other on how we now put them into a sequence for our comic strips? We left with the mention of making sure that we keep in mind that this projects is just to test our skills of sequential art, observational art and rendering, giving us an opportunity to experiment.
400 Jehovah's Witnesses In Angola Pass Out Due To Toxic Gas At A Convention
You support a religious doctrine that bans a life saving medical procedure causes death of children and adults. I think you and your Jehovah are more wicked than I am. I think you are mentally deranged because everyone who disagrees with blood transfusion must be a Jehovah's witness. so I ask you?
What Church do you attend? or are you irresponsible?
Are you a Vampire?
Do you attack a religious doctrine that places premium on life by advocating premium medical procedure of choice and that has saved children and adults?
Why do you promote terrorism in Angola against ordinary members who are not of the governing body?
You peacemaker and non violent person that imagines his God killing billions cause they don't belong to watchtower organization and supporting a law that banned blood transfusion in 1945 causing death of children and adults well you are just the kindest person on earth and I think the holy ghost controlling you and your bae is must be one of its kind
Yawn.Yawn. I predicted he guilty heart is obsessed with having the last response to my transmission, but I did not mention anybody's name. Let's wait for more. GOD IS GREAT!
Please don't touch that dial. Re: 400 Jehovah's Witnesses In Angola Pass Out Due To Toxic Gas At A Convention by cantok: 11:55pm On Sep 02LukeLook:
You must be an agent of the devil yourself. A virus. I was once an active JW. My daughter died at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Dala. I was then in Kaduna and did not know a doctor with a silly and sick mentality like yours was busy managing my child with blood components! He was a bigot like you. Always arguing with an intention to deceive the weak - JUST LIKE YOU. The chief Medical Director of a private hospital who was in the area called me to break the horrible news. I did not want blood tranfusion for my daughter and I made ample provision for that. She was 11 years and had survived the worst periods, overcome the acute symptoms under Late Doctor Duroshola Mototolani of Motolani Medical Center, Agege while she was in Lagos.
People like you are mentally deranged and will always find ways to promote sorrow pain and tears. The doctor was busy transfusing blood into my daughter without my consent because he wanted to prove a stupid point just like you. The you are caught in the act of violence, know that it is Jesus Christ who has come for judgement.
His likes will not go unpunished! in his own doctrine he fails to see that more and more bloodless cures prove more successful than blood-based cures and that people do not die because of bloodless medicine, but because some doctors are refusing to treat patients without blood. Well when you want to bully someone who doesn't agree with your doctrine on blood transfusion ban you ask if the person is a vampire? 3. Let me school you on bloodless surgery a. Don't think the name bloodless means they don't use blood. They use blood but in this case it is the patients own blood. Not only surgical cases you need blood transfusion E. Research on bloodless surgery has not being done extensively on pregnant women or children? F. Do you know the face your leaders brought out on awake magazine as expert on bloodless surgery has been stripped off his professorship title because 89 out of 102 of his research work had data which was falsified? G. Blood transfusion is of two types allogenic and autologous blood transfusion. So you want to tell me that Paul said that you should abstain from allogenic blood transfusion alone? Or that you should accept blood components (fractions) gotten from blood donated by worldly people? H. Bloodless surgery can't be used in emergency situations e.g acute severe hemorrhage with hemoglobin concentration less than 6g/dl especially in children and pregnant women Bloodless medicine on the other hand you have to give hematocrit boosting drugs and does not work in life threatening situations. I. Do you know that if bloodless medicine or surgery fails allogenic blood transfusion is the next option? And do you know that if blood transfusion fails blood less surgery or medicine is not an option? J. Do you know doctors make treatment plans that is of benefit to their patients? I don't think a doctor will want to kill anybody by giving allogenic blood transfusion when it is needed especially when death is imminent and the only option for survival in allogenic blood transfusion
You must be an agent of the devil yourself. A virus. I was once an active JW. My daughter died at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Dala. I was then in Kaduna and did not know a doctor with a silly and sick mentality like yours was busy managing my child with blood components! He was a bigot like you. Always arguing with an intention to deceive the weak - JUST
Sorry for your loss.
Let's analyse your story. Who was with your daughter when she was in the hospital? Who gave assent and consent for blood transfusion? Who paid for the blood? Your story is a misrepresentation of the actual story. Or are you telling me that no one was with your child during her stay in the hospital? Then that is child neglect and abuse. In a teaching hospital nobody will give a child blood transfusion without assent
The chief Medical Director of a private hospital who was in the area called me to break the horrible news. Was he the person managing the case? Why would a Cmd call a patients father on phone to break the news of the death of his child in a government hospital. You are telling me two things 1. No relation or caregiver was at your childs bedside. No health worker in a government hospital will give a child any form of treatment in a pediatric ward if the child's legal guardian isn't there except in cases where the child has no known legal guardian or caregiver. Shows neglect in your case. The child's mother was supposed to be by her side or someone old enough to give consent 2. The Cmd was your friend otherwise if he wasn't the person in charge of the case it is unethical to call to break the news. It is obvious the Cmd is your family friend.
I did not want blood tranfusion for my daughter and I made ample provision for that.
Her caregiver probably gave consent and your child assented
She was 11 years and had survived the worst periods, overcome the acute symptoms under Late Doctor Duroshola Mototolani of Motolani Medical Center, Agege while she was in Lagos.
You just agreed that this was not a first time episode. Your child had been receiving treatment. Do you know that in medicine each episode of a particular illness is treated as though it is a new one. A form of treatment used in one episode of a particular disease may not be the same form of treatment used in another episode of that particular disease. I think the disease progressed to the extent where your bloodless medicine could no longer help. Do you know bloodless surgery and medicine is still under research in developed countries? Do you know bloodless surgery and medicine is not indicated in every illness requiring blood or blood products in developed countries? Do you know that in developed countries if doctors see your child to be in dire need of blood transfusion the go ahead to perform the procedure? Do you know that the law will grant doctors the right to do blood transfusion if need be?
I cooled off activities with the congregation because I wanted to deal with that bigoted, religiously biased and wicked doctor in the most virulent way.
To you the doctor is wicked because you have been trained to think that a doctor who offers blood transfusion is a wicked person Well it is expected if watchtower trained to believe that people who don't want to join watchtower organization and accept their teachings are wicked people. The doctor may not even be affiliated with any religion.
People like you are mentally deranged and will always find ways to promote sorrow pain and tears
If advocating for a medical procedure to be done when it is the only option available after exhausting other options in the case where there is imminent death is mental derangement to you so be it. How is some body promoting sorrow pain and tears by giving somebody in dire need of blood transfusion a blood transfusion. If advocating giving a trial at life is promoting sorrow pain and tears so be it. You just
The doctor was busy transfusing blood into my daughter without my consent because he wanted to prove a stupid point just like you. Somebody maybe your wife gave consent and your child assented when you left the hospital because they wanted it. You probably delayed a life saving medical procedure for your child and by the time the other person consented when you were not there is was probably too late to salvage.
The you are caught in the act of violence, know that it is Jesus Christ who has come for judgement.
What act of violence? When, where and on who do I perform this act of violence? Blood transfusion will be used till they get a synthetic analogue for hemoglobin in large quantities.
Worldly people will keep donating blood to help people including Jehovah witnesses who are in dire need of blood products like albumin, clotting factors and immunoglobulins. Re: 400 Jehovah's Witnesses In Angola Pass Out Due To Toxic Gas At A Convention by Hairyrapunzel: 1:15pm On Sep 03LukeLook:
NOTE1 It is apparent that you may be really on the psychotic side. Since when has attacking Jws been a consequence of bloodless surgery that can't be used in emergency situations? Already, you have a tactic of stigmatizing e.g."are you not also one of his disciples?" whereas in your own case it is "everyone who disagrees with blood transfusion must be a Jehovah's witness". The rest statements you have made is thrashy, half ignorant, half deranged, can only come come from biases such as found on anything-goes-social media, certain Australian HMs, medico-orthodoxy who say blood has 90% chance of saving life!
So the
NOTE2 You do not have the platform, the clinical qualifications, the presentations skills and the legal authority in this country,West Africa, the USA and in the UK to school me, inform me or educate me on any aspect of clinical pathology!
I think you are the bigger psychopath here. For you to attack an arguer instead of an argument. I think your religion has made you deranged I think you must be a psychopath to support death of an individual instead of accepting blood transfusion.
Since when has attacking Jws been a consequence of bloodless surgery that can't be used in emergency situations?
Since when has criticism become attacking? Stop the persecution complex Already, you have a tactic of stigmatizing e.g."are you not also one of his disciples? I think its you and your Jehovah witness doctrines that stigmatizes humans. Using a derogatory word such as worldly and wicked to signify non jws is the worst form of stigmatization.
" whereas in your own case it is "everyone who disagrees with blood transfusion must be a Jehovah's witness". People have the right to disagree with any medical procedure. A religion should never make its members refuse a proven life saving procedure. You must be a fool to say that people should die or let their children die instead of accepting a medical procedure because of an assumption made by its illiterate medical leaders.
The rest statements you have made is thrashy, half ignorant, half deranged, can only come come from biases such as found on anything-goes-social media, certain Australian HMs, medico-orthodoxy who say blood has 90% chance of saving life!
So it is watchtower magazine that is the right source of a medical procedure? Bloodless surgery and medicine involves use of blood and blood components whether you like it or not.
So the questions remains:
1. Why are you not a member of any Church but is desperately needing comfort, fellowship and in need to associate with Church goers? Is it not a convenient ploy to be irresponsible and to have plausible deniability? Why do you desperately need to constantly be in association with church goers who are critical thinkers?
Painful rants of a believing Jehovah witness who wants to blame non jws for his woes You are just pained that somebody has told you things you don't know about your beliefs.
No wonder you killed your child by witholding proper medical care from your child for a long time and want to blame the doctor for her death. This is child neglect and abuse. How will a father with old an important medical treatment from his child for years because of his religious beliefs? Is that one a father? Why withhold medical procedure? Because you want a spot in paradise where you will be petting pandas in summer
3. Why are you in veiled support of attack on a religious doctrine that places premium on life by advocating premium medical procedure of choice and that has saved children and adults?
What choice of premium medical procedure has saved children and adults? Bloodless surgery and medicine I have told you is not used in acute severe hemorrhage with hemoglobin concentration less than 6g/dl. Research has not being done on children and pregnant women. It still uses blood and blood components. Do you know why research can't be done on childre? Because the blood less surgery and medicine researchers know that if they try using it on a child who requires blood transfusion and withold blood transfusion, they will go to jail and they will never practice as doctors or researchers in their life.
The reason they have not come up with research on pregnant women is because pregnancy isnt a disease when a woman has severe postpartum hemorrhage and there is cardiovascular compromise you give blood transfusion
And what doctrines about premium of life? Life is not supposed to be taken away by man made doctrines. You say your doctrine places a premium on life by refusing that same life a live saving medical procedure and the life dies. Which life have you put a premium on? To you people blood is more sacred than life itself. So your claim on their premium medical procedure saving children and adults are questionable.
4. Why do you promote terrorism in Angola against ordinary members who are not of the governing body or church leader of the JW?
Promoting terrorism in Angola against ordinary members interesting. Why do the members promote mass genocide by their god of all non jws for new system to come for jws?
[b]NOT You do not have the platform, the clinical qualifications, the presentations skills and the legal authority in this country,West Africa, the USA and in the UK to school me, inform me or educate me on any aspect of clinical pathology!
So you are hurt because someone has said what you guys tell the don't tell the public about blood less surgery and medicine. And see who has qualification skills does not even know what bloodless surgery and medicine entails. What is clinical pathology? That's if you even know. I can school you in medical ethics.
Your governing body also told you that they alone are the faithful slave class and that god directed them to dispense spiritual food.
These same men in new york told you that they alone are the ones Christ is using in present day earth and you must know them to serve god. These same men told you salvation is by joining their organization
Bear in mind that in the bible no passage mentioned organization No passage in the bible did Jesus tell his disciples that they will get salvation by locating any slave and worshipping God through them.
The bible says we should not listen to false prophets like the leaders of your organization. In fact the bible says Christians should beware of false prophets who dish out false prophecies
Example saying Jesus Christ appeared invisibly in 1914 Saying door to heaven closed in 1935 Preaching heaven is full already Teaching overlapping generation in 1995 so your slave can get the key to the already closed door in heaven and enter Prophecy about world ending in 1884, 1914, 1925 and 1975
