Had an absolute vision of a dream last night that one of the episodes of series 5 starts with Alison about to drive somewhere, and for whatever reason, the Captain was sitting in the passenger seat. They got outside the gates and the captain didn't disappear. This causes them both to freak out, and the Captain freaks out so hard that his soul or whatever regresses and warps time for a second, and Alison has to slam on the brakes so they don't crash. When she looks over at the Captain to check if he's okay, there's a little girl in the seat.

Turns out the Captain is trans and he could leave the grounds bc for some reason he was connected to a locket in his pocket which was a gift from his mother that had his deadname inscribed on it (I don't remember what it was; maybe Elizabeth?). The picture on the inside was one of those typical victorian family portrait photos from when he was little.

The episode then becomes about Alison finding out more about the Captain's life and them finding members of his family's graves and people who are still alive, like younger siblings or nieces/nephews.

The B plot was all the ghosts freaking out that the Captain had been sucked off bc suddenly he's just not there and they don't know what to do! It was still so recently that Mary left them and now the captain too?! 😭

Anyway I know it makes no sense that he would randomly become attached to a locket that's always been in his pocket when we've seen him be unable to pass through the gate before, but this was a dream so whatever 😖 Trans Captain is now canon in my head and my heart so 💕

Anyways the way that books such as ACoTaR (and many of its later copycats) could have been so much more interesting and entertaining to read if the authors had an ounce of self-awareness into the intricacies they could’ve explored with their main characters and were at least honest about what sort of characters they were writing.

Do you even know how interested I would be with a “Beauty and the Beast retelling with fae” but the protagonist is one of the selfish wicked older sisters (listen in my mind and heart feyre is the forgotten middle child between nesta and elain ok) instead of the kind and virtuous Beauty archetype. Do you even know how obsessed I would be about a female protagonist who is so self-absorbed and lacks empathy and obsesses with being a martyr for the people she doesn’t even seem to like precisely because she doesn’t know herself outside of that role. Do you even fucking know how hard I would go for a fairytale centering around the reconciliation of a family and sisters torn apart by tragedy and trauma and learning to understand and support one another amidst a weird and fantastical world and plot.

Likewise with Fourth Wing actually I would go crazy over a protagonist bound and determined to make her ableist mother proud of her in spite of her disability within the context of a “might makes right” dominant fantasy cultural hegemony and has internalized the whole “you just have to keep pushing harder” mentality to the detriment of herself and her wellbeing in this dangerous situation she’s nonetheless resolved to make the best of anyways and how she comes to realize and grow out of that mindset from the emotional connection she has with her own disabled bonded dragon partner as they learn to navigate a space that wasn’t made for either of them through said connection and mutual support of one another. Like I would be losing my mind if those were the plotlines we were given. But they’re not. Sad! Oh well there’s always my own wips.

no you’re so right and that’s part of what’s compatible with persona here because “you can’t do it alone” is VERY MUCH a big theme of persona, but so is “be yourself” (to… various degrees of efficacy but still that IS a theme). so like YEAH I think a huge theme here would have to do with the healing power of community, right, like, this is one of the most compatible places thematically so we’ve GOTTA have that.

see the funny thing abt jamil is that once you get past his defensiveness, he would greedily accept any and all of your affections. and he would absolutely love being spoiled. not that he'd freely admit it aloud, but that's okay 😇😇his bodily reactions do most of the speaking for him (if you pay attention closely, u can spot what he likes and what he really likes)

it's a bit weird at first, not doing anything as you take the reins in pleasuring him. Kinda wish there were more slice of life games that take place in cities as opposed to escaping from them. Maybe i’m biased as someone born in a rural town, but there really isn’t much to do in a lot of them and I think that’s why a lot of SoL farming sim type games end up defaulting to similar events that happen in the towns. I think the themes of exploration, settling down, and meeting new people could be explored just as well, if not better, in a more urban setting. Like imagine: you move to a new city, settle into your new space, and then get to explore the new city and all the people there, which there would be a lot of. Find new stores and shops you like, meet your neighbors, maybe start a garden, learn new recipes or recreate ones you try,decorate your apartment, maybe even open your own store to give it the kinda goal progression a farm usually provide in these kinds of games. There’s such a great opportunity to include all these different cultures and identities and stories that usually only show up in more open world games as opposed to SoL games. Idk, just spitballing ig??

Idk if anyone has done this yet or thought about it, but imagine the choir in a zombie apocalypse

Ricky has played COD: Zombies but man's disabled so sadly can't pew pew the undead - he can give tips and advice tho and signs them to the group, which is an advantage bc quiet communication so the zoobies can't hear them

(bonus to that: they all sign to each other bc quiet communication and Penny & Ricky were the ones to teach the rest of the choir)

Mischa has also played COD: Zombies and knows all the gun types, but he's hopeless at actually shooting a gun accurately, so fisticuffs it is. He might be terrified but this man ain't gonna show it bc he's the protector of the group and will do anything to keep them alive or die trying

Penny is a badass, nuff said.

but to elaborate: she's the one going around to make sure everyone is alright and will sock any zoobie in the face that dares show up to scare her friends, either with a spade or just straight up her own fist, Penny is the scary, stoic, reliable protector #2: Electric Boogaloo

Ocean tries to be the leader of the group but that ultimately falls to Penny, so she becomes the motivator instead and tries to keep spirits up during this literal nightmare

Constance is our ball of nervous sunshine who's here spitballing random facts that have nothing to do with the situation but she's just trying to not focus on the undead outside, her and Ricky just ramble together when they can

he won't be using a gun very often but has one just in case, he does like throwing knives at the zombies tho and is surprisingly good at it

Noel also a sneaky boi so he can get in and out of places quite well

Ocean is better at that tho bc she smaller and quieter, but Noel is more up for a risk than Ocean is

do they quietly sing out of fear so that they can all try to maintain some kind of togetherness and normalcy? yes, yes they do, bc they're a choir family unit so of course they're gonna sing quietly around a campfire in an abandoned building while the undead groan and scream and wander around outside

I just imagine the setting to be either like in Anna and the Apocalypse (which is a fun Christmas musical film about zombies with Anna Kendrick) or to be straight up COD: Zombies with this randomly teleporting weapons box that shoots up a beam of blue light, so Ricky and Mischa get super excited until Constance opens the box and gets Samantha's teddy bear so it teleports away again and they have to find it, but Ricky would totally get a Ray Gun mk II before then and pass it to Penny so she can be even more of a Straight Up Badass™

If it is set like COD: Zombies, then:-

Karnak is the announcer, just this spooky voice in their heads that gives them sarcastic pointers like "oh yeah, you can go over there if you really fancy getting jumped by five undead mcdonalds workers who were uninspired teens and want to bite your head off, yeah you could do that...or maybe you could instead, oh I dunno, GO FIND SOME FUCKING WEAPONS TO DEFEND YOURSELVES!" and then heaves a sigh whenever they pick up a Perk-A-Cola after the jingle goes off and mutters "you have no idea how annoying those jingles are, do you?"

and for the drops that you sometimes get, instead of shouting/screaming them like Samantha or Richtofen, he just sounds so bored like when he said "no tradesies" to Ocean

the contrast tho, between Richtofen's screamed "CARPENTER" and Karnak's "carpenter, ig" XD

mainly the fact that none of them could be open or vulnerable with each other …. to be honest i havent looked at sashisu very closely before but this hit me bc. I FEEL LIKE I RELATE SM :; like. i have a best friend who i’ve known since i was a baby but we’ve never ever had a serious conversation once… maybe this is unrelated but that is so tragic because to me friendships really struggle to be strong and stable against one another if you can’t ever show the side of you that’s struggling … being vulnerable w one another is key to bonding :’3

i have some thoughts about them— mainly shoko…. to me it kinda seems like she kept them at an arms length away this entire time on purpose and she still does…. maybe i’m spitballing idk i’m just basing it off the fact that satoru and suguru called her shoko but she still referred to them by surname even ‘til where we currently r in the manga (which. i will also ignore but i cant lie the memes were so funny…) but my thinking is that she did so because. even though we never really saw her much i think that’s it since she was a reversed ct user n probably didn’t have much experience fighting… maybe. hear me out just MAYBE she knew what might become of satoru and suguru since they were so enveloped in fighting and being the strongest, and both of them were so headstrong and arrogant for lack of a better term that she might’ve just… tried to keep herself from getting attached n being hurt even more than she already might’ve been simultaneously 😞😞

that still just makes me so so sad though….. they always looked so happy when they were together… maybe if they could’ve gotten suguru to talk and really listened to him for once…. alas ;; gege is an evil thing

i think its super interesting !! i rly rly wish i was able to read the og japanese manga, bc i feel like so many little language details like that get lost in translation (esp since the official jjk translation is kinda bad lol)… i wish we knew if shoko called them by their given names in high school, i want to think so but we just dont know </3

* thinking about the AU again, so here’s some more not-really-fun-or-interesting-facts about it

* this is mostly something that I wish the show did, so I’ll just put it in the AU, but each season would very clearly take place at a certain time of year, mostly so that it’s clear when exactly something takes place. So season 1 would be fall, and it would start at the beginning of the school year (so September), up until the middle of November, then season 2 would be winter, and it would just stay in winter. Season 3 would be the end of winter and the start of spring, so it would go up until the middle of March. Season 4 would last until probably the start or middle of May, and then season 5 would last until the end of the school year in France, which I’ve learned is in July so, yeah

* instead of the two specials taking place in Shanghai and New York, I was thinking they would instead be in the Underground and a dark world. I kind of have an idea for the Underground special, like the Underground would be turned into a tourist trap by the mayor or smth, idk lol, I know its not good. And I don’t really have any ideas for the dark world special, other than it would take place in a dark world

* I’m sure there’s a reason for it that the show will actually explain in Kwami’s Choice, but I just don’t see Zoe (at least I’m assuming it’s Zoe) being the black cat miraculous holder. I like Zoe, but I just don’t see it, especially since she hasn’t appeared at all this season lol. So, since I also don’t see Mad Mew Mew being a black cat miraculous holder (since she’s the Chloe/Zoe equivalent in this AU), the holder would instead be Sans. In this AU, sans would tell papyrus that he knows he’s Cat Noir after the events of Wishmaker, so that would be the reason why he gets it, and also I just want to do something with Alphys and Sans’ friendship (even though they wouldn’t know who each other was)

* in this AU, Adrien would actually be dead, and basically take Emille’s place in the murder basement. Gabriel would also have (at least some) fragments of Gaster in his basement, idk ig Nathalie found them for him, and for a reason that I don’t know yet Gabriel knows that Gaster had done research about timelines, so he would want him to find a timeline where Adrien is alive, and bring him back. You could just say that Gabriel could wish Adrien back, but, he would know that if he did that, something bad would happen, probably to him or Emille, in order to keep balance to the universe, so if he just did it to Gaster, and someone like Papyrus or Sans were affected, he wouldn’t really care, because he’s an awful person lmao

* Sole Crusher and Queen Banana would be a bit different, basically Sole Crusher would start out with the bakery scene, but it’s not the bakery it’s Mettaton’s theatre class (because he’s doing that), and Zoe and Marinette would meet there. From then on the rest of the episode would basically be the same, but it would end with Zoe and Marinette having a close bond.

* Queen Banana would mostly be the same, but instead of Chloe getting akumatized it would be Marinette, basically she just gets upset that Chloe was trying so hard to remove Zoe from the film that she gets akumatized and tries to, turn Chloe into a banana idk. She probably wouldn’t be “Queen Banana”, more like Queen, Macaroon. Madame Macaroon? Idk. If it was Madame Macaroon she’d probably have a macaroon yo-yo as her weapon as like an homage to her being ladybug, idk, I’m just spitballing ideas here. I have absolutely no idea how Mad Mew Mew’s new superhero identity would fit into this, or if I would just put that in a later episode, but I’ll figure that out later

* zoe would be trans and pan, marinette would be bi (I think the Marinette thing is just canon anyways, but, yeah)

* instead of Stormy Weather, it would probably be the two weather people teased during the Spamton Sweepstakes (these guys). It would probably be Catty and Bratty and they’d be upset that the person they voted for lost or smth, idk

* an idea I had for Crocoduel would be that while The Fun Gang™️ (which in this AU would be Kris, Frisk/Chara, Noelle, Susie, Berdly, Jockington, and Catti, and just whoever else in the class they invite that day), Susie would notice that hey, very fucking convenient, but her mom that abandoned her when they got to the surface is there. Susie would go to confront her, and since Toriel is there as the chaperone for Kris and Frisk/Chara, she and Susie’s mom would get into an argument, with Toriel berating her over literally abandoning her child, and then they’d both get akumatized. Susie, while using the tiger miraculous, would just punch her mom into orbit, but while her mom is flying back she hits Toriel, which leads to Toriel getting hurt (but then she’s fine cuz “miraculous ladybug”). Susie would feeling remorse over being angry, and Mettaton, while still saying that she did go a little too far since what she did led to someone getting hurt, he’d tell her that she’s allowed to feel her emotions, she’s allowed to feel angry, and that her birth mom sounds like she fucking sucks anyways so it’s reasonable that she be upset with her. And then the episode would just kind of end with Susie’s mom leaving again, this time for good, and Susie upset because she wasn’t able to get an answer as to why she was abandoned, but happy because now she has all these great friends and a new family (Alphys and Undyne).

* idk what the reason is for why Felix wanted the peacock miraculous so badly (I haven’t read the season 5 Bible so don’t spoil it please), but here, the “Felix” equivalent would want it because they know papyrus is a sentimonster, and they want to be absolutely sure that Gabriel would never go on a rampage and just end Papyrus’ life on a whim.

* ik I said before that Papyrus would tell Undyne that he’s Cat Noir, but like, if Sans already knows, then I don’t see the point in someone else knowing. Also as seen in “Illusion” Nino can’t keep a secret to save his life, and Undyne is the Nino equivalent in this thing, so yeah, probably shouldn’t tell her anything ever.

Okay this is by no means extensive and rn it’s limited to TVDU characters because that’s the easiest off the top of my head. These are just ideas I’ve thought of recently and if this is helpful / people like this spitball format, I might make more posts like this in the future. Caroline replaces Alaric after he gets the boot from the honor council. Maybe she gets a firsthand look at the damage Alaric has caused, from the curriculum to eroding the trust from the students, and also how he’s pitted the twins against Hope / treated her like a guard dog over the years. Realizing that she’s made mistakes but can still turn around and try to make amends. (imagine how that changes everything in the future seasons, like would Hope still beat her up to “send a message” after she flips her humanity? Would Alyssa still want to send her to the prison world as revenge as well? Dealing with nh!Hope? Possibilities!)

Alternatively, Caroline who follows the plotline as in canon and returns upon hearing about nh!Hope (or what she did to Lizzie. Alaric too ig).

Resurrection threads. Hayley, Klaus, Elijah, Stefan, Cami, literally anyone who died and for whatever reason. If it’s not Hayley or Klaus, maybe she tried to get them and something went awry, but now they have them? Idk, just resurrection threads. 

Kai wreaks much more havoc in the prison world arc. Probably will end up with Kai dead or back in the prison world tbh ( or some other plucky happy ending ) but also the sass, banter, and absolute brutality. ( no Hope/Kai please )

Either Landon or Lizzie (or both) for the canon verse. Landon would be romantic turned platonic after 2x08, and Lizzie would be platonic the whole way through. I love both ships romantically and platonically, but I have yet to be able to play them out in a platonic way and I think there’s so much depth and potential and I just love deep platonic friendships okay?

Canon-divergent AU where Hope actually manages to leaves Mystic Falls after she sees Josie and Landon kissing at their movie night. Anyone from the Super Squad meets her again 5 years later (say..... right before the Merge?)

My Triad verse maybe? Like......... supernatural creatures getting hunted? Hope suddenly reappearing after 12 years and the ripple effects of that nexus vorti which rips open Malivore from the inside, spilling out all these legendary monsters and also Triad is still a menace and idk maybe Josie also comes back from the dead somehow because Hope exists again and-

Okay wait I’m going to add to this, but consider that this changes everything so anyone can be dead or alive, but people still don’t remember Hope. So just imagine the heartbreak of Hope finally running home to see her parents but they don’t remember her at all

WandaVision theory spitball (some spoileresque things ahead)

So we already know from the trailer that someone has wanda and some other people trapped in this limbo where they act like they're in a tv show that changes throughout the decades (whether they're trapped there by Wanda or another being i dont know). I'm watching the first episode and Vision is working at this place called Computational Agency and he keeps asking what they do here and the dude just says "we produce computational forms" and Vision processes the forms way faster than anybody else and that's making me suspicious that if some other being has them all trapped there that they're using Vision in some way to do or make something for them by producing these computational forms. And they're having to use Wanda to get to Vision because Vision was killed by Thanos, and Wanda has powers that can alter reality. I know that still leaves the question of why does this other being have other people trapped in there as well then and idk. They must serve some similar purpose to whatever this being wants. I'm only 6 minutes into the first episode tho so ig we'll see.

Okay so bc of how Meapless in Seattle would play out in the Relocation AU, Doof would have no reason to drink the liquefied cutonium. Cause he drinks it while trying to deny that he was there on a coffee date with Peter. Everyone is just playing keep-away with the container. (That said, it'd be funny if he DID drink it for some reason bc of the bit where the gang picks up the cutified Doof. They'd probably be like ._. "... That you, Dr. D?")

in general, the entire episode would play out way differently because the a- and b-plot gangs would inevitably end up joining forces. perry would definitely end up knocking mitch and balloony's robot suits around if they dared threaten phineas and ferb. (also i want to know what candace would think of balloony. i'm sure she'd have Words on that whole situation and it'd be super fucking funny to see.)

Sooooo I’m going to stay up until 3 am waiting for the new Taylor Swift thing to drop on Disney+ so I can watch it with the rest of the fandom on twt, which means I have more than enough time to go off on tangents and I apologize in advance

I definitely think if/when I write this, I definitely want Heinz to drink the cutonium just for shits and giggles, but it didn’t occur to me until you said this that there wouldn’t really be a reason for him to do it, so, naturally, I rewatched the entire episode just to figure out that one scene and because I love that episode and I have a general idea of how it might go down:

It’s kinda the opposite of the actual episode, where it’s Peter and Perry are at the coffee shop and Heinz is outside (idk what he’s doing there tho bc he’s not visiting Peter uhhhhh help), and Heinz does something loud and stupid (probably falls over or something idk he’s clumsy he would totally do it) and everyone in the coffee shop looks out the window to see what happened, and Heinz looks through the window to see if anyone noticed (and they did). Obviously, Heinz sees Perry (and Peter but mostly Perry) and he’s like :))))))) and my original plan had been that Perry runs out to see him and gives him a hug or something cute like that, but my new plan is that Perry actually runs away because he’s afraid that if OWCA finds out that Heinz saw him, he’ll be relocated again and he was just starting to get used to Seattle.

Heinz runs around the building and tries to catch up to him, and he after Too Much Yelling, he finally gets Perry to stop around the same spot they were in the episode (with Peter slowly catching up). Idk what he’s gonna yell but it’s gonna be something really pure and heartwarming ig idk words are hard, but Perry’s gonna freeze and Heinz is gonna run towards him while paying absolutely no attention who his feet whatsoever and whoops he falls in one of the kids’ ditches.

*casual switch to present tense bc there’s literally no reason to write this in future tense*

Perry turns around and looks down at him and he can’t help but smile because he knows he shouldn’t be here but this man is just so freakin adorable and he absolutely remembers why he loved their nemesisship (not that he’d ever forgotten, of course, but it’s hitting him harder now that he sees him). Heinz’s just like “You gonna give me a hand?” (in a lighthearted way obviously) and Perry is absolutely not going to give him a hand because Heinz would end up pulling him in instead, but it doesn’t matter anyways because Heinz makes a really big gesture when he asks and he ends up knocking the cutonium loose. Perry hops down with him to check it out (and Heinz is lowkey offended that he’s more interested in this cup than his ex-nemesis) and then Mitch shows up and he’s like “Hey gimme the cup” and Heinz is like ���nu-uh my cup” and Mitch is like “GIMME DA CUP” and Heinz is like “fine, take the cup!” and then downs the cutonium right in front of him out of pure spite and that’s why he ends up drinking the cutonium (and subsequently gets kidnapped by Mitch (after being tossed around like a game of hot potato))

Ngl I don’t really know how the rest of the fic is gonna go at all but you’re absolutely right that things are different so I’m gonna do some spitballing here,

For one, I feel like the kids would stop heading to the Flynn-Fletchers as much because it was just so sad, but for the sake of this fic, we’re gonna say that everyone was at the Flynn-Fletchers when this started so now Buford and Baljeet are there with them. They end up getting hold of Heinz the same way they do in the show, and Phineas absolutely does say “... that you, Dr. D?” (purely because I love when the kids call him “Dr. D” it makes my heart happy). And Heinz is like, “Perry the platypus is here!” and the kids are like 0_0 and even Phineas isn’t quite sure wtf is happening, but The Man Of Action Ferb pushes him out of the way and follows Heinz’s instructions (all while ignoring Meap talking about the cutonium bc this is far more important) and they find Peter and Perry still over by the ditch and someone yells down to them (or, more specifically, to Perry) and Perry looks up and sees them and starts tearing up, and they let him and Peter in and Perry just jumps up into Phineas’s arms (he can’t exactly jump up into Ferb’s because he’s driving) and it’s a very heartwarming moment and Ferb hands Buford his handkerchief and everything and then someone ruins the moment. Idk if it should be Meap being like “Someone wanna fill me in on wtf just happened?” or Heinz being like “Wtf Perry you ran away from me but not them?” but it sure do ruin the moment, that’s for sure

Uhhhh idk that’s all i got on that. I guess Mitch gets Heinz back and then the kids team up with Perry (and Peter this time) and go get him and stuff happens? And there’s a running “gag” ig where Buford is the only one that thinks it’s weird that Heinz drank the cutonium out of spite and he keeps bringing it up and everyone else is like yeah that sure did happen whats your point

Oh my god tho I need the kids to see Ballooney. Literally everyone else would be like “oh no it’s an evil balloon ex-best-friend we should be scared” and Candace is like WHAT THE  F U C K  IS THIS THING and she is the only one to question why the fuck there’s a sentient balloon man there fdhfsjadfhsjkad
