today i'm welcoming home my first BJD, "lieselotte!" i would like to occasionally post more doll content (especially lolita related) on my blog from now on.. so you may be seeing her often!! ♡
lolita collaborations sparked my interest in ball jointed dolls quite a while ago, but i've only recently started researching them and have come to love all of the similarities these hobbies share. i was very lucky to be able to find my discontinued dream doll completely unopened from a secondhand sale despite this specific model being made and distributed almost 15 years ago. it gives the same feeling as a very well preserved time capsule of sorts.
to give more information on her--she is a 2010 limited release model volks super dollfie x baby, the stars shine bright collaboration from the storyline "harajuku memories"
she is absolutely everything i wanted in a doll and a perfect fit for me as a lolita and avid fan of btssb. i prefer the older faceups of her rather than the more modern ones. i intend on matching coords with her-- so far, i own the same gingham rose OP, her default dress, and the honey cross shoes and socks.. though i want to hunt down the same christina hat she wears. i plan to take her outside with me once the weather gets a bit nicer, as her storyline mentions that being her wish!
i'm quite new to the hobby and still have a lot to learn, so feel free to share any resources or tips ^_^

more info about Sweetie under the cut!!: I hope everyone likes her! ;;7;;
According to small snippets of old scripts and pages from old children's books, Taylor Sweetie was a ice cream truck driver who, while not actually living in the neighborhood, would often visit the residents of Home, giving ice cream to all the neighbors free of charge.
She seems to have the closest relationship to Howdy, the two often trading recipe cards. However Sweetie is friendly with all of the neighbors, so they are as happy to see her as she is them!
So much so that the neighbors often called her ‘Sweetie’ rather than her name ‘Taylor.’ Because to them, she’s the sweetest!
As noted from some blueprints that are still in the middle of being recreated, it seems like Sweetie used a variety of wacky gadgets and tools in order to make ‘the perfect ice cream’ for each of the residents of Home.
Sweetie would specially craft each frosty treat to the neighbors tastes and even feelings. In some notes it was listed that Sweetie would twirl in a ballerina-like fashion while making her ice cream, and always finished each creation with a special catchphrase.
“With a sprinkle of happiness and a cherry on top, this sweet treat’s sure to make you smile!”
In small recovered pieces of scripts it seems Sweetie also made more than just ice cream, bringing special hot chocolate drinks in winter episodes. It seems all of her food creations were sweet in nature.
Old scripts reveal that Sweetie did in fact ‘not’ drive her ice cream truck, but that someone she called ‘Mr. Frosty' would instead be driving it. It is unclear if she means the truck itself can drive on its own or if there is another worker driving the truck, as the windows of the truck are not see through, so its unknown if anyone is sitting in the front seat.
Many of her segments had her appear to give advice to troubled characters, and while her advice would sound random they seemed to spark resolve in many of the characters who were dealing with the problem of the episode.
It seems like she was a popular enough side character that she was featured in many children's books, had her own recipes in a ‘Welcome Home’ themed cookbook, and had a series of real life ice cream bars labeled “Welcome Home: Sweetie’s Sweet Bars”, featuring the likeness of several characters from the series.

Sigma has never met Kyouka before, but... he knows of her.
Fyodor didn't tell him everything. But the fact that there's a member of the ADA who used to be part of the Port Mafia - an assassin - is something he's familiar with. An assassin, at such a young age... whenever Sigma thinks about it, his heart twists with an emotion he finds it difficult to identify.
Maybe he can relate to her, just a little. Sigma by now has worked for more criminal organizations than he can count, and he can't imagine that the Port Mafia saw Kyouka as anything other than a tool to use for their benefit, either. But... there's one difference between them.
Because now, in theory... Kyouka is free from all that...
It's actually her who notices him first- by the time he becomes aware of her presence, she's already looking at him, though Sigma doesn't know for how long she's been doing so. He feels strangely self-conscious under her gaze, but forces his voice to remain steady as he speaks.
"You're... Izumi-san, right...?"

"Man, sometimes I wonder if it's what I really want to do..."
Ann sighs as she offhandedly remarks on something that's been bothering her today, though she doesn't think about it too often. Immediately after, though, she gives a sheepish kind of smile, looking at Makoto and abruptly apologizing.
"Ah, sorry! I didn't mean to unload on you. You're just really easy to talk to, you know?" ...But she doesn't want to bother Makoto with a stray thought like that. Modeling is what she decided to strive towards, after all, and she doesn't want to give up on that goal! Especially with Shiho counting on her... she needs to give her strength, just like she promised she would. It's not like she hates the work, either. Working hard on her appearance is tougher than Ann expected, but she's not going to give up on something just because it's hard work.
"I bet you're working hard towards your goal too, aren't you? You're really impressive, Makoto!"

Danny was nothing but attentive when it came to his research, ever so careful to make sure he got even the most obscure details, the ones people tried to keep hidden away, locked somewhere safe, be their minds or inside a safe. Nothing passed undiscovered when he had his sight on something, even all those personal documents hidden away in Dr. Loomis' house were rather easy to gather, there were just a couple of missing pieces, or rather details. And then again hearing something from one directly involved was always interesting, except this one seemed to enjoy being elusive, not that it came as a surprise.
Her words almost earning a chuckle from him, however he found himself giving a shake of his head, even if the gesture was impossible to be seen through the phone. " Jed Olsen. But Jed is just fine. " Ah, his trusted alias, the life he lived according to everyone he had ever met. The fingers of his free hand drumming against his thigh when he leaned back against his armchair.
" That's the thing, " A short pause, considering his own next words. " Papers tend to take quite the few liberties with their narratives, most of the times they just go after something for the shock value it holds or. . . for morbid curiosity. " Well, he knew a thing or two about the latter but she didn't need to know that. " And I've become wary of trusting anything written in magazines or papers even if it might seem a little hypocritical given how I'm a journalist myself, albeit a freelance one. So there isn't anyone dictating what I write other than the ones involved, especially when I know how it feels like. " He grew silent then, letting his last words hang in the air.
