Percy was conscious (but suffocating to death) while Annabeth was trying to save him
So, from the first watch, I thought Percy's reaction to being released from the chair was odd. If he had been frozen in time in there, wouldn't he wake up asking, "is the quest over? Did we succeed? Where's my mom?" I mean, he had time to before Hephaestus started talking.
But look how devastatingly calm he is as he's engulfed. He is controlling his breathing and forcing himself to say and appear that he's ok
NOW, take a look at how he acts when he's freed
he's taking quick gulps of air. Note: that's not what hyperventilating looks like. And when he goes to stand, he's in pain and grasps Annabeth for support
You know what these symptoms look like? Someone who held their breath too long and can finally breathe again.
Percy was in that chair for almost exactly four minutes, which is generally the threshold for how long the human body can go without oxygen before suffering permanent damage. Note: there will still be damage (like initially feeling weak or sore after regaining air.)
Percy, being the son of Poseidon and a demigod could probably survive longer than the normal human without oxygen. But eventually (probably within the hour) he would have died. And also, he would be awake for a chunk of that time, unable to breathe, unable to move, with the certainty that he was going to die.
So anyway, he lived four minutes of that hell and was genuinely in shock that he was alive

It's kinda hilarious how the Lords in Black looked at Ted and went "yeah, no, fuck this one guy in particular" for no real discernible reason. Like, obviously, there's Tinky and his Spankoffski Poké Ball, but then there's Pokey who a) turned homeless!Ted immediately and then had him dance two feet away from his infected little brother and b) passes up on turning anyone with Join Us or Die solely to taunt/beat up Ted with his girlfriend and her husband. And! They all collectively agree that they're gonna try to make Grace/Steph/Peter all think that killing Pete is the way to go, even though they shouldn't really care whether Steph dies or Grace loses her [redacted] because they're all still "things they cherish the most". What the hell made these eldritch beings decide to fixate on fucking Ted of all people??

Arlo: It's getting a touch spicy out there.
Chris: Spicy, Arlo? This is vintage vindaloo.
Arlo: It went from evenly matched to unevenly matched to light a match on fire and put it into a can of petrol.
Chris: That second half should've come with a trigger warning.

No one talk to me. Roy participated in Ted and Beard's antics.

i love that trent is the one who finds out first about colin's boyfriend. especially since his arc in this season kind of started out with his apology to roy. and even before that the very reason he's at richmond now was because he revealed his source to ted. he's on a path to right past wrongs and to really care about the people behind the story™. it seems like a great opportunity for him to take this a step further and have him be the one who not only doesn't exploit someone for his writing but who actively acts to protect a young player from the press instead

Today’s tiny but extremely important Roy & Jamie detail is the fact that after Ted’s “good night and see you all on Monday” Roy turns fully towards Jamie and gives him another pat/squeeze/bump on the arm. You can’t see it properly – and I for one am very mad about it – as the moment is intercut with Ted and Beard walking to the office, but we see Roy’s movement towards it before the cut and then him pulling his hand away right after. And of course it’s a perfectly reasonable and unexceptional thing for a coach to do once his boy has made it onto the English team -- so why is it making me want to scream, hm?
(Picture quality remains shit but I hope you appreciate how hard I worked to capture the split second of Roy’s hand lifting from Jamie’s arm, since that wasn’t easy to achieve on Apple TV’s highly questionable streaming platform, which doesn’t allow me to go frame by frame.)
