meet sydney wilder, gen 1 of my new gameplay~

i'm kicking off a new playthrough of the whimsy legacy expanded by @lysiablr , starting at gen 3 just to spice things up!

premise

Sometimes life brings you a little bundle of joy in the shape of an accident. As soon as you're of age - after whirlwind teenage years of partying, skipping classes, and turning in homework late - you become a mixologist at the local bar.  You are a clumsy Sim who fears the sound of commitment, but loves to have a good time. You enjoy dating new and exciting Sims, but you never, ever commit to anything too serious.  You love your job, and you love that you don’t have to show up for anyone. Period. If you don’t have to show up for anyone, then you can’t disappoint them, right? One morning, after a rough night of partying and a whole lot of bubble blowing and juice, you wake up feeling... off. There's something that just isn't right, and you just can't shake it. You’re tired, you’re feeling ill, and food sounds absolutely revolting.  ... It can't be. But it is. One pregnancy test later, and sure enough, the lines clearly fade into view. You're about to be a parent. After the initial wave of fear, you regain your senses, heart filling with warmth at the idea of no longer being alone. While having children was hardly the first thing on your mind, you can’t say you'd totally ruled out having a few later in life. Turns out later is right now.  But... who is the parent? All at once, you recall the night before, and realize that there are three different possibilities. The catch is, you won’t know the answer for sure until the baby is here. Is that too late? Will you confront your partner when you find out, jump in with them and co-parent, lie and tell a different partner the child is theirs, or will you go it alone?

Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) Have your Sim romance at least three different Sims at once, enough to be able to woohoo / try for baby with each. Be careful of jealousy! No getting married or entering into any kind of committed relationships.

Voulez-Vous During the first half of your young adulthood, complete the 'try for baby' interaction with three different Sims in one night. Do not test for pregnancy at all; wait until the next couple of days and see if your Sim experiences any symptoms of pregnancy. If not, do it all over again. If your Sim cannot get pregnant, first check all three partners for pregnancy; if none are pregnant, try again OR randomly select one of your partners to have a science baby with three to seven days after the one-night stand, as if a baby was dropped off at their doorstep by an unknown partner.

When All is Said and Done Choose whether to parent the child alone, confront the correct partner, or approach a different partner to claim that the child was theirs. In the event you choose to confront or approach a partner (regardless of whether they are the correct one), start an argument with them and then play out the scenario from there.

A DAY IN A BUNCH FAMILY: (With Social consequences mod)

I'm making some improvements to Social Consequences to include more interactions between parents and children, thereby strengthening family ties while allowing Sims to build or end marriages. This mod aims to make the gameplay experience richer and more dynamic, while at the same time giving the Sims (along with all my other mods) total autonomy to live.

This is a brief account of what happened one day at the Bunch family's house! (without me needing to control anything, everything was autonomous)

(As this is a test base, I didn't use my filters so my game should be darker than usual, since my lighting mod was made to be used together with my filters. Ignore that. Focus completely on Gameplay)

A DAY IN A BUNCH FAMILY:

I opened the center and the sons began to interact with their parents, while the daughters went on to do their independent activities.

Soon after, the youngest son invited his father to an American football match.

The mother took the opportunity to watch TV with her daughter and strengthen their bonds. Meanwhile, the eldest son felt snubbed by his sister

The family got together for lunch (although it was too late for that, but it was a Sunday, so it was okay)

Catarina Langerak's father got in touch to see if he could take his daughter to play with the children, something to which I promptly replied yes :D

Then they arrived (and here I had to welcome them because sims don't do it themselves even with the itunes/xml tweaks (so if anyone wants to make a mod for this, I'd be happy to share and use it) so I invited them in.

The father told his daughter to behave and remained in the house to interact with the other parents

He discovered that he had a trait in common with his mother Bunch! What a coincidence!

And yes, the game already informed me that they would have chemistry, that is, danger in sight for the Pai Bunch. But do not worry. Potential suitors exist in droves for those who are married. However, it is the character of the person that defines where this goes (and if it goes)

The girls went to play on the swing in the meantime

Katarina's father upgraded my kitchen sink (actually started and never finished) while the family had a snack.

Bunch's youngest son asked for a bedtime story. He asked many family members until his father answered him. I wonder if I should tune the Get Out Project to make autonomy a little slower to make the sims more consistent. But I like the way things are going (so I'm waiting for feedback, or for someone to come and complain about it)

Then the youngest daughter discovers a monster under her bed and runs out of the room. In the end, a lot of things that I didn't even show happened. They've progressed relationally, they've progressed in terms of skill, they've progressed in terms of making friends with their neighbors. There was progress and it all happened in a single day without me having to do anything (except answer the door)

You picked Danielle up at her house for the music fest.

"Dani come in!" you say to Danielle, standing in front of her porch. She gets in your car and starts blasting music (i hc danielle would be a swiftie idk)

"Oh yeah! that's my jam, dani!" you squeal as Danielle played 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' by Cyndi Lauper on your phone. "You look great!" Danielle said as she looks at your outfit. Wearing a white sun dress with ribbons as straps, along with bows on your half pigtails. You did feel pretty. "Says you!" you said back to Danielle.

"Some boys take a beautiful girl and hides her away from the rest of the world, I wanna be the ine to walk in the sun! Oh girls just wanna have fuuuuuunnn" you and Danielle sang as you drive your car on the highway. "This is so fun!" you laughed. "I know!" Danielle said back, teeth showing as she smiled. "So..." she trails off; "So...?" you ask back. "How are you guys?" Danielle asks with a smirk. "Who..?" you knew who she was talking about, of couse; Jake. Who else could it be? "Jake?? You guys talk alot, no?" She asks. "Mmm yea but i think he thinks I'm weird." you said back.

"What? What do you mean? You always post screenshots on your twitter, you also sent them to us. I'm actually getting sick of it." She laughs. "Well yea, but.. argh I don't know." You responded.

You focused on the road, having Danielle help you to read the gps. Both of you were singing and jamming along to your playlist. You felt adrenaline build up inside of you, excited to see the fest, and Jake of course.

"Aaaaand we're here!" you said while parking your car. You and Danielle walked hand in hand to the front row. "Thank God we're early" Danielle said. "Yea, otherwise we can't get the very front" you laughed. "Oh be so for real. We all know who you're planning to see this close up." She nudges you playfully. "Oh shut up." you nudge her back.

A few minutes passed, the previous empty pit is now full with people. Laughs and cheers fill the surrounding, crowding the area. 2 people walk on stage who appear to be the MC's. "Hello everyone! my name is Wonyoung!" the tall girl said. "And I'm Jungwon!" the other boy said. "And we are your MC's for today! Welcome to Wonderfest!" they exclaimed. The crowd starts to cheer, excited for the fest to begin. After the Wonyoung and Jungwon did their whole MC thing, they exited the stage. The lights began to dim; The jumbotron showed numbers, counting down for the fest to start.

The crowd goes wild as 5 boys walk out to the stage. You could feel your heart racing, seeing the boy you're head over heels on. His hair is shining, reflecting the sun; His skin, glowing and a bit tan; His face looks ecstatic as he picks up his electric guitar. His eyes wandered through the crowd as if he's looking for someone; Then, his angel eyes met yours. You could swear everything around was in slo-mo when he smiled at you.

Jake strums a chord on his guitar, checking if it sounds right. To you, anything sounds good if it's from him. Jake then starts playing a song, one of your favourite songs.

Kiss Me by Sixpence none the richer. You would do that– you would kiss him right now. Heeseung hits the hi-hat and bass drum to the rhythm, Sunghoon following along with the bass. Your eyes were basically heart shaped with the way you look at them, especially Jake. He strums his guitar, then looks at you while singing the first verse of the song; "Kiss me out of the bearded barley, nightly beside the green green grass" he sings— And you wanted to do just that. You wanted to kiss him, right there and now. The way his voice whispers heaven in your ear sounds angelic. His lips worded each lyric just right. His little Australian accent peeked through some words, you thought it was cute. His head nods to the beat Heeseung was drumming; Jay was also playing the guitar, Sunghoon was on the bass; Riki was playing notes on the keyboard; Their whole band played nothing but harmony.

The way Jake dances and taps his feet on the stage to the rhythm made your eyes go star struck. The crowd were singing along with them too. "I bet he chose this song just for you" Danielle looks at you with a grin. "I wish" you look back at her laughing. "No seriously, with the way things have been acting? He's making it go so fast, he's basically confessing to you with this song right now." Danielle adds. "Dani stop making theories" you roll your eyes playfully at her.

"Kiss me beneath the milky twilight, lead me out on the moonlit floor" Jake sings. "Lift your open hands, strike up the band and make the fireflies dance, silver moon's sparkling..." He sang out.

"So kiss me" you sang out the words, looking at him as he does the same. He looks at you while smiling, even waving a hand at you. You wave back of course; You didn't even notice Danielle was recording you. You watch as Jay starts doing his guitar solo at the bridge, Jake then runs across the stage to hype up the crowd while singing. It was wild. You screamed loud just like how the rest of the audience did; This moment felt unreal— you thought to yourself.

Just then, after they finished performing the song, Jake reaches in his pocket to take something out. He jumped down the stage and reached his hands over the railing that seperated the crowd and handed you a paper ring. It had a red heart on it. Jake gave you a paper ring. "Sorry, it's just a small gift I made for you- I know it's not a lot-"

"I love it." you cut him off. He smiled at you and hopped back on the stage to continue performing more songs. The crowd went wild seeing what just happened. They started cheering for you and Jake.

The night was young, but the fest had ended already. The sky was going dark, so you and Danielle decided to go home– after eating some cheesy corn dogs.

"I had a great time, thanks for having me go to the fest with you." Danielle said to you before heading back in her house. "You're welcome babes" you blow a kiss to her. "See you soon! I hope the others can make time to hang out, I miss doing that with you guys" you pouted. "Me too, okay bye!" Danielle waved, opening the door and headed inside her house.

Simblr's New Year Resolutions of 2024

I was tagged by lovely Lana, @eljeebee. Thank you, my dear. ❤️

Now, I already did a post on plans yesterday, but that was only for the coming few months or so, plus way too long for anyone to properly read, so let's give this one a go (which will probably also be long, because let's face it, I'm simply not a woman of few words).

What's your resolution for your simblr?

I'm not actually sure? Sometimes, I envy the people who are able to keep their Simblr clean and organised by just posting actual relevant things. I often write rambles (I don't always think anyone truly reads), so the story might get a bit lost. But do I really want to change that? I don't know. Maybe my resolution for my Simblr could be to make things easier to find? But then again, if you want easy reading of my story and everything involved, one click takes you to my WordPress, which actually is a lot more organised.

I do have resolutions for the story itself and my writing, though! In 2024, I hope to expand my writing skills. Even though I write easily in English, the fact that it's not my native language still feels limiting at times. I often feel I could make a narrative or a dialogue richer if this was my mothertongue. I've been contemplating focussing solely on dialogue and image (like I did with the AU), but I find I sometimes want and need the narrative. I really do feel the need to sometimes give words to what a character is feeling or experiencing without them actually voicing it to another character. And precisely in that type of narrative, I see room for improvement.

As for ATOH, I hope to be able to do some other characters justice, too, aside from the ones I've been so focused on recently. Although, maybe it'll only get confusing if I bring too many characters in. So, balance will be the challenge, I guess. And, I hope to be able to bring everything together properly and in a way that makes sense. Especially now that I've changed my timeline for a third time...

What do you want from the Sims franchise?

I just hope TS3 remains playable at this point. My worst fear is my gaming laptop breaking down (I do everything on that thing, as there's no place in my house for an actual pc) and any new one being unsuitable to run TS3 with its very specific demands...

Other than that, I think it would be highly unrealistic to expect EA to develop or do anything specifically for TS3 at this point, and I have absolutely zero interest in straining my laptop even more by putting TS4 on it, which I know I won't play.

Any other new year's resolutions?

Oof... Umm... Well, I already wrote about how I'm struggling a lot at the moment (I'm at a very, very low point right now...) and as much as what I want for 2024 is to find my happy again, that seems like a huge ask at the moment. So I shall stick to the quote the Pinterest game brought up: "Never give up on the things that make you smile" and try to focus on the few things they do bring me joy. Which takes me back to the story, and now we've come full circle.

It's taking a long time to fix up my BACC!

I ended up removing basically all of the old residential lots as there were some crashes trying to open lots with cc I no longer have.

I'm now building the 'hood to be more British style and have many a row house... which I hope to share!

Also this blog hit 300 followers, thank you so much! So I've been working on sharing a few sets of row houses as a little follower gift. ♥

Other things I've fixed up:

Most households have been moved into new homes and fixed up their outfits/hair/etc.

New university dorms which basically started looking like Britchester University from the Sims 4. Fits the British style I'm going for so I like it!

Things that still need fixing:

Subhood needs a lot of work, I removed lots which didn't fit my new style so it's basically empty... but I think I'll focus on the mainhood now and expand there more when it's needed.

Still need to build the schools... There are a few richer households in the neighbourhood, so I'm planning for them to put some funds together for the new schools. But I still need to build them! AHH!

Excuse the lame screenshot (the last one) but I just thought it was ridiculous that the ghost on this lot would spawn in the 'outhouse' and cheer on her husband using the toilet…

Playing this family was quite exhausting because of all the pets... At the same time there wasn't much going on at all though.

Damu Orange came over to visit his best friend, Ishum Wolfen. Maybe he was concerned, as Ishum was really not in the best mood, aspiration-wise. He also lost all interest in Arts&Crafts (which they bonded over before).

I think Ishum would have gone into aspiration failure, if he was an adult, as he had a fear of seeing his mom's ghost.

I didn't really know what to do with all the 'domesticated' wolves, but the family couldn't have four adult dogs forever, in my view. Ishum became the master of both Midnight and Balin (the parent wolves), but he didn't necessarily care for their puppies...

The wolves are very aggressive, so they keep fighting over toys and food even when they have a high relationship as part of the same pack, which is quite sad.

I checked who would like a puppy. Otso Imago had 2 wants - 1 for a puppy or kitten, and another one for a puppy specifically, so I made Ishum sell one of the puppies to him right before they would age up. I chose to part with the white, female puppy Asena, because this family doesn't want to breed more pets for now, and Hati is arguably the more interesting-looking puppy.

The game decided Asena was worth $1325 or so, which is quite a lot of money, but the Imagos are way richer than the Wolfens, so they could spare some money to fulfill their dreams. I'm sure the puppy will have a good life there with those werewolf-loving Knowledge sims!

Currently Watching: A horrible history channel documentary…"MonsterQuest." I have fond memories of watching it in high school. It is, of course, absolute bunk.

Last Movie: The last Fast and the Furious. Look, i don't get out much.

Currently Reading: I last Read "Murder on the Orient Express." I need to read a book a former colleague wrote…it's very good but I got mega-distracted. It has 1850's lantern sleeves. And vampires.

Sweet/Spicy/Savory: Spicy, then savory, then sweet. But where is Sour on this list???

Last Thing I Googled: A reenactor's blog because I like how she styles her propoloma. Before that, directions to an event tomorrow.

Current Obsession: I'm back on my Thrawn bullshit, but no thanks to the new show. Oh, and Byzantine costume...don't ask me how that came up. I am hoping that the Viking event tomorrow will rekindle my interest in Alasdair's Viking adventures. I've been like "it feels too much like homework!" due to my research paper. And Kolfinna needs a new dress. I always need to dress my sims better. I worry they don't look nice enough.

Currently Working On: Managing my anxiety/stage fright before said Viking event, making another propoloma for my sims because i'm obsessed, packing my stuff, rehearsing small talk, etc. I have to wake up at five (ick!!!!!!!!!!) to get on the road to get there.

horror movies and true crime!! i watched over 100 hours of movies, video essays, podcasts, and documentaries relating to horror and true crime. i'm officially burnt out of it though, so i will be back next month to once again happily share my interests!! byeee

hi! i just want to ask if you have any tips with adjusting the color of cc lipstick in the sims 4? like, they look fine on lighter color sims and then i try and use them on my black sims and their lips look horribly ashy and weird. do you think upping the saturation or brightness would help?

Hooo boy, okay so I'll be honest... I absolutely loathe putting makeup on my sims, mostly bc my sims wear overlay skins, but also bc a lotta the makeup I wanna use is alpha, but I also don't use the HQ mod.

Either way, whether alpha or MM, I've realized that even with the makeup sliders, it's an absolute nightmare finding the right match for your sims that aren't light skin.

My only suggestion is try out different creators, there's a few out there I know of that create makeup specifically for darker skinned sims, and although they don't, I've recently been trying out cosimetic on TSR, and I haven't tried their lipsticks yet, but their eyeshadows and eyeliners work pretty well on Isa with a little tweaking. Picking a creator that adds darker, richer swatches helps a lot too, bc using pinks and purples will absolutely get you that ashy look, no matter how much you mess with the sliders. So look for palettes that include lots of peaches, browns, and reds. Choose these in the swatch picker, then use the sliders to get the shade you actually want.

Now regarding the sliders, yes, definitely mess with the saturation and brightness, the opacity slider also comes in handy, esp if you use overlay skins, or like to show a little of your sim's lip detail through the color, it'll also just smooth things out, and calm too bright of white shine, so I just highly suggest using it if even a little bit.

Once again I don't use makeup a lot on my sims, so I'm by no means an expert on this, but I hope this helps!

Unfortunately, creating sims is not exactly my forte. I am trying to connect with them but it's hard to do so when I'm not inspired and create the same kind of sim over and over and over.... I am back on my decades play cycle and I am in search of some interesting sims and was hoping, just maybe, if you have any extra simmies hanging around you'd want to, I don't know, send them to me I'd sure appreciate it!

Basics: Any age, any background, any appearance, any orientation - but, no occults please. I love them, I really do, it's just this is a semi-realistic save so I'll be doing a Pleasantville meets A Star is Born meets TCM kinda thing so unless I recreate Creature from the Black Lagoon I won't need them.

I'm looking for backstory! The richer/weirder/ dramatic the better. Make them broken or perfect, just remember they will be in the living in the timeline between 1920s - 1950s.

A few days before my birthday, I had ordered this game called Sims Life Stories off Ebay and I've been playing it since it arrived on my birthday. It was actually the game that got me into the Sims franchise cause back during the Sims 2 era, they used to make these cool little side games for the series that centered around a specific family and had plotlines you had to follow?? So when I was a kid my dad had gotten a trial version of this game in the mail, and I LOVED IT, but I never got to experience the full storyline cause it was just a trial. Now that I've got my own money I'm playing the full game 😎 The character is named Riley and you basically help her get oriented after moving to a new city to live w her aunt. There's lots of drama and love triangles and rivlries and idk it just been so much fun reliving these old sims 2 memories. The game was soooo much richer back then

As for my main sims game, I have this family in the sims 4 where I'm on theirrr 3rd generation rn? 🤔 These hoes are messy tho so like the story started out with the original mom having toddler triplets with an unknown baby daddy, and she moved to a new apartment to start fresh. Across form her there was a cute young couple and she REALLY started liking the neighbor girl's boyfriend? Husband? Idk. So she ended up seducing him and she got pregnant with his twins and kinda ended up wrecking their marriage 😅 AND THEN I FOUND OUT THAT THE EX WAS PREGNANT TOO and I just felt so bad. But whatever.

So they got married, they had 5 kids, the mom started working in like a PR agent track and she got super famous. I forgot what the dad does but he got super famous, too. One of their daughters got famous as a teenager cause she was a musical prodigy as a kid and she started writing music as a teen, so now shes a celebrity musician.

Growing up, her triplet brother was her best friend in the whole world. The only other person she was as close to was a neighbor boy in the apartment complex down the street from her, and the three of them all became super great friends from childhood. As teenagers, she had started dating the neighbor boy and basically as soon as they turned into adults she got pregnant (with triplets. again.) and they got married.

Well. Her husband started staying out super late and acting really suspicious, and she was starting to feel super sad and anxious about it, so she went to her brother's house to vent to him and lean on him for comfort and support. And guess what she found as soon as she walked into the house.

Her husband—the love of her life, the father of her 3 kids—and her brother—her best friend in the whole world, her one true confidant—were there, making out on the couch RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER 🤨🤨🤨

So she beat her brother's ass and divorced her husband on the spot and now she doesn't talk to either of them. She's doing good now tho, she found an artist dude who she married and had kids with. I'm actually in the middle of building them a new home but eugh...I hate building...

Anyways now I'm focusing on tending to her kids and priming one of them to be my new main character once she ages up to young adulthood. She's gonna be a lesbian who meets her future wife in college 🥹🥹 and they're gonna have a cute little farm together.

So yeah! That's all the games that I'm actively playing rn. I could tell you about my other long, crazy generational one that I stopped, but we'd be here forever if I did :P

While I’m always looking forward to Large Joon Fic updates (seriously, my favorite name for it, even though Sacrificial is also lovely and becoming even more meaningful as the story wraps up), I hope you’re taking care of yourself, doing whatever makes you happy in the meantime and finding a better balance of all the things.

Ah, my goodness. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. When I'd started posting it, my goal was to have it done posting before the end of the year, and yet, here we are, in 2023, and I still have four chapters to go. Shit happens, to be honest.

When I started doing freelance editing, I had multiple existential crises because for months, I couldn't get anyone to take a chance on me. And like, y'all know how much I beta read. It's something I'm confident in doing. But know one wants to hire a person with zero paid experience. And then suddenly, a person did. And then another, and another, and suddenly I have a handful of repeat clients who not only like how I do my job but actually give a shit and pay me for my opinions on writing. Like what the fuck right?? I'm still in shock tbh.

I started posting Sacrificial around the same time I started looking for work, so watching these two parts of my life work together in tandem like this has been really strange, but also like, so important. Even when I'm like swamped in deadlines (like I am this week), getting a comment on Sacrificial, or any other fic, for that matter, reminds me that I can only do what I'm doing right now because of what this community has given me. And that shit started with me drafting Sacrificial in 2021.

idk I've been thinking about it a lot, mostly because fuuuuuck I need to get ch 17 out soon because I'm anxious to hear people's thoughts on what happens during it. I'm just so bad at managing my time alksjdhflaksjdh

BUT. I'm learning!! I'm so so thankful that I've got folks like you, who are patient and gracious about my slowness. Truly, it means the world to me. I hope you don't mind me asking, but do you have any recommendations how to modify the decades challenge to be more Jewish? I'm still in the early stages of conversion and still doing tons of research. I want my personal gameplay to be somewhat accurate though. If you're too busy/don't want too that's okay as well!

I guess it really would depend on how realistic you want your gameplay to be, and also where you're from (I assume the US?). I'll put it under the cut as it's quite long.

The original Decades Challenge rules are, from my perspective, quite goyische (Christian-centric), seem to be based on social mores of the middle to upper class and seem inspired by the aesthetics and life of the American frontier. That's not a criticism per se, as the fandom is US-centric by nature (and US is majority Christian religiously and/or culturally), so it makes sense that the rules and gameplay would be US and Christian-centric.

@strangetown-hotel made some really good points on how their family lived in a tenement (apartment building) when emigrating to the US. I'm not super familiar with the history of Jews in the US, but I do know most emigrated through Rhode Island beginning from the late 1800's - early 1900's, and that most were middle-class or working-class.

You could have a Jewish immigrant couple living in an apartment. If you wanted to do a 'rags to riches' type story, you could make them working-class and put them in the cheapest apartment, with lot traits like 'Creepy Crawlies', 'Filthy', 'Grody' etc, and have both work. The idea that all women were stay-at-home mums/homemakers is inaccurate; only upper-class or some middle-class women could afford to stay at home, and richer women could afford to have hired help. Poor women had no choice but to work in addition to taking care of the house and children.

There are a couple of issues with apartment living that might crop up if you're doing a historical gameplay. You might want to choose an apartment with a balcony so you can buy a clothesline, because dryers were not on the market until the late 1920's, off the top of my head. Or don't put the laundry basket in until you can work your Sims up to getting an apartment with a balcony.

Many immigrant families did live in apartments, but it would also not be inaccurate to have Jewish families living in a rural setting. Historically, we are farmers - we have the holidays to prove it. Three of our main festivals are agricultural festivals - Pesach (Passover), Shavuot and Sukkot, celebrated in early spring when the crops begin to ripen, late spring during the harvest and autumn when crops are gathered, respectively.

(Living in the Southern Hemisphere, those festivals are reversed for me, but it's about the spirit of the holiday).

Basically, Am Yisrael (the nation of Israel, ie the Jewish people) live all over the world in all climates, all settings, so don't feel like you have to constrain yourself to a specific setting.

For CC, I suggest downloading pandorasimbox’s excellent Judaism Stuff pack, found here - especially the mezuzah, challah and dreidel. You can affix the mezuzah to your front and back doors (on the outside of the house) or if you’re in an apartment, on the inside. If your Sims are ultra-Orthodox, you can add one to each room, but usually just front and back is fine.

For the challah, it’s decorative only, but maybe could be made into a custom recipe if someone is willing to do that? (Note to self - check how difficult that is). You could set it in the middle of a table on Friday nights when your Sims have Shabbos dinner, along with a couple of candlesticks. I use the candlesticks here (plasticbox’s candlesticks updated by me, excuse my self-plug). When they’re not on the table, I put them on the mantle.

For holidays, I've set up my holidays as follows:

My Sims' families are traditionally Orthodox, but they themselves lean towards Conservative, so they celebrate most but not all holidays.Because each Sim "day" =/= a real world day, I've approximated the time between holidays, so feel free to adjust as you see fit.

Rosh HaShanah

Autumn - Day 5

Traditions: Grand Meal, Thankful Spirit, Attend Holiday Ceremony, Invite Guests

Yom Kippur Winter - Day 1

Traditions: Attend Holiday Ceremony, Fasting, Remembrance

Traditions: Grand Meal, Light Menorah, Open Presents, Tell Stories

Purim Spring - Day 2

Traditions: Baking, Drinking, Party Spirit, Wear Costumes

Pesach Spring - Day 4
