I will never understand why they had to give wednesday a love triangle, even jenna has said that she didn't Want it, the romance served no purpose other than make stupid drama that was too dragged out and it was awkward at best and forced at worst, and I have nothing against the actors but they had no chemistry with wednesday, if the male characters were written better it would've been way better than what we got

Tell Me That You Love Me (2023-24)

This is an okay show with good actors and a nice premise. But it was very slow and I could sense a rough ending coming on, so I stopped it at episode 9, which was a relatively happy point.

The Good

The two leads are great, especially Jung Woo-sung, who plays a deaf painter who spends some of his time teaching art to deaf students. The show had some good moments of seeing the world the way deaf people see it, and it was beautifully shot as well. Shin Hyun-been, who played the female lead, also did a good job, though her character was a little bland sometimes.

There were good supporting actors, and I was very happy to see Park Jin-joo who played the fun bestie, and Kim Mi-kyung playing (yet another) strong, but disappointed mother.

The Bad

This show was meant to be "slice of life", but the pacing was very rough at times. On top of that, much of the time was spent getting to know the deaf characters, which was great, but it also meant you had to pay attention to see what they were doing—when the show had them doing so many uninteresting things.

The love-line was very meh, and then they brought in an "ex-GF with a dark history" midway through the show and I just lost interest. I would rather have had a show with the bar owner Bestie and his wife just living their lives than most of what was happening in the drama.

TL; DR:

There wasn't anything really bad about the show. At its worst, it felt like an afterschool special, and I loved seeing Deaf culture on screen. But they needed more of a story than they gave us.

Make every ship be a part of a love triangle, no matter how unnecessary it may seem. Make it seem as forced as possible too! Everyone loves love triangles, right Tui?

Starflight and Moon definitely needed those love triangles and it drastically improved the romance factor everyone came for!

(No disgrace to the series but ngl Tui’s only interesting ships were like… winglet or legends ones. Or ones with background characters, like Orchid and Mangrove.)

My one idea with Cassie was instead of just randomly making her a threat to Michael and Taylor's relationship for cheap love triangle points just leaning into the slightly playful nature she has (see, her explanation of her powers in her intro where it's clear she's having a bit of fun explaining that she's got a nonlethal and lethal setting between the muscle paralysis and stopping lungs/hearts) and just make her, like, an attempted homewrecker because she thinks it's funny to flirt with people to get a rise out of them. Make her flirt with Ostin or Jack to get rises out of McKenna and Abi, too. Heck, make her bi and have her flip from flirting with Michael to Taylor when she protests just to throw them off. I thought it might be fun.

Oh my god yes! That would be so funny! She had so much potential and I hate that she was reduced to a love triangle.
