" Have a day full of wonder, won't you?" & with that, he walked off -- exiting out into the outside corridor that connected to the garden. The air filled with a wave of different scents and how kindly they greeted him. The garden grew in confidence once his new wife had arrived. She spent most of her time in two places he can recall; The library & the garden. A woman of intellect & harboring a green thumb were two fine qualities. Cyrus continued his evening stroll through the massive garden when the tip of his toe hit an object, along with a few grunting and rummaging sounds that caught his attention. Peering away from his book, he saw the woman, his wife, fighting her battle with those accursed weeds. "My, my... "Cryus said, proclaiming his presence. " How long have you been out here, My Queen?" He can openly say he admires her determination and consistency in abolishing those vile weeds. Who needs royal gardeners when his Wife is better than all 8 of the previous ones?

Well, while i’m dealing with the frustration that is trying to reset my forgotten password on insta-- How about i treat the dash to more rambling about food fantasy? Seeing as i haven’t talked about that verse in a hot minute lol--

Okay, so first fun fact up-- the main reason i haven’t indulged in this verse in ages, aside from the fact that i’ve seen almost no one here on tumblr playing muses from it-- is because it mainly exists as a verse thanks to writing with a discord friend i’ve lost contact with going on a couple years ago now-- which... does admittedly bring a touch of pain to said verse--

Next up, is the fact that thanks to his status of not being a master attendant in said verse, Minato actually hasn’t had contact with very many food souls-- in fact, going off past writing record as a reference-- He’s interacted with Whiskey, Pizza, Tequila, and Martini-- with him and Whiskey having the most “history” together, thanks to past plotting that had been in place lol

And to continue on from that last point... Minato had a roommates/fwb situation going on with Whiskey-- (which yes, given how Whiskey is, i realize was a disaster in the making lol) thanks to mainly to a chance meeting via his work at the rabbit shop... followed by an unfortunate incident of (more or less) blackmail that ended in Minato being kicked from his apartment-- and in the end going to Whiskey, because he didn’t want to burden Itsuki by staying with him--

(i’m also big time sad that i may have lost the starter/drabble i wrote in relation to Minato losing his apartment-- thanks to losing access to the server we used to write on-- because i actually really enjoyed the way i wrote that piece at the time--)

My homie I have amazing news. In one of Finn's past lives he was a butterfly. Fionna is probably dreaming of one of her past lives. Like yeah I know dream analysis and stuff and the shwo is very deep. But maybe it's just a cute easter egg.

Okay, I was actually totally planning to add a lil thing in the tags of that post that I was like "hmmm or maybe it can also be related to Finn's past life as a butterfly" but then I, like, had a brainfart and forgot about it lol??? I literally don't know what happened there, honestly.

But also, there is a reason I only meant to leave this idea as a little-side-addendum in the tags - because I don't consider it very likely at all right now. First and foremost because, yeah, one of Finn's past life was a butterfly - but that doesn't necessarily mean anything about Fionna.

I mean, we know that the F&C verse sometimes flips around characters' species. For Glob's sake, literally the second-most important character in this universe is a cat whose Mainverse counterpart is a dog! As far as we know, Fionna's past life could've been a maggot or a Kiwi bird!

Also, an important thing to remember here is that Fionna isn't having this dream alone. Cake is ALSO dreaming with her

While it's been kinda implied that Finn and Jake keep reincarnating as best bros throughout their lives and maybe you can extrapolate that would be true of Fionna and Cake as well. But there's nothing in this little visual that could be a 'companion' to the butterfly so I think it's worth asking.... why is Cake dreaming of Fionna's past life as well?

Also, I would buy the idea this was just "Fionna dreaming of her past lives" more if, like, the first episode's title sequence showed her dreaming of a shooting star or a pink slime or a genderswapped version of Shoko or anything else also related to Finn's past lives. But instead what we had was this:

What seems to be a simplified version of the Hotel from her dream sequence at the start of the episode (note the little beach chair on top). I mean, if Finn has a comet I guess Fionna's past life could be a building but... yeah I'm pretty sure that's just the hotel from the dream. It seems like the emerging pattern is Fionna dreaming about a location from the episode at each Ending Title Sequence.

Because the most important thing is that Fionna in the EP2 ending isn't just dreaming of a random butterfly....

That Butterfly is sitting on the MASK WORN BY THE 'EVIL BEAR' FROM THAT SAME EPISODE.

So Fionna is dreaming explicitly of a butterfly flying around in the Heart of Ooo. So if THIS is her past life that actually has far more Lore Implications than if the dream is just symbolic of the series' themes.

And you know, I was just kinda spitballing with that "Zhuang Zhou Dreams of Being a Butterfly" thingy. I still think there's something there especially with Fionna dreaming of Ice King and Ice King dreaming of Fionna but... there's a lot of interesting thematic meanings you can take from the butterfly if you don't insist on refusing to engage with it for silly reasons.

The aforementioned 'Butterfly Effect' concept is one. But you can also look at more general symbolism associated with butterflies. Such as Freedom (which is, when you get down to it, what Fionna is dreaming about more than anything) or Change and Transformation. You know, kinda like how the ending of this episode signified an important Change in the status que of both of our main leads?

And Transformation is a HUGE theme in this particular episode. You know, Simon's struggle of having being transformed into Ice King and now back to Simon again and how much it messed up his sense of identity? Or how his trauma Changed him? Or how he has a hard time coping with the Changes in his life and the world in general?

We'll probably need more than two episodes to really see what the pattern is with the ending titles and thus more reliably speculate on What Could It Mean. But with the information we have, I don't think it was just Fionna dreams of her past life. And even if it is, I think it's silly to totally discard all the thematic possibility of the butterfly. There's a reason why didn't just dream of being a Pink Slime, after all.

Funny story: So when I first read Shamhat, took a peak at the tags, and saw the one along the lines of 'roundabout way of apologizing to vivienne for abraxas' I just kinda thought 'huh, wonder what that means?'

Go figure I also wasn't a huge fan of Shamhat Vivienne- I literally forgot that character was in the MV and thought she was an OC till i looked it up. Even after I did I thought she kinda was just an audience/author surrogate with not a lot of development who all the monsters just decided they wanted to bang on sight.

I- um- have very much softened on this position after Abraxas lmfao. I will say I prefer Abraxas Vivienne/Monster X to Shamhat Vivienne- but that basically just boils down to personal preference. Shamhat Viv is kinda supposed to be simple and a surrogate, but her development is good for what Shamhat is.

As for whiplash: yeah that was definitely there- but fucked up horror is right up my alley and I regularly employ it to cause whiplash in my own works- keeps the audience on their toes lol. It also gives the smutty fun times meaning- even if Abraxas-verse and Shamhat are separate.

Also speaking of: did you go back on that? Ozzy in Empty Fullness seems like it would go back on that. This isn't trying to be a gotcha, I swear, I'm just genuinely asking.

Oh yeah, Abraxas Vivienne definitely gets the lion's share of characterization; Shamhat isn't meant to be Super Serious (except for certain moments). Sometimes you just wanna throw your MC a bone (or several) after putting her through hell!

As for Ozzy, I did say maybe there could be a chapter involving him with Tiamat and Shimo, not definitely. It could be a non-canon "what if?" chapter, like the Halloween special in Empty Fullness.

This one was fun to think about!! I think Aizen's tastes are particular, and as pretentious as it sounds, "refined". He's also secretive and manipulative - he's very much cognizant of how he's being viewed by others. The type of entertainers would need to make sense to what other people project Aizen to be.

🌺 CONTEXT 🌺

Going by my limited knowledge of how the courtesan system worked in Feudal Japan (in which Sereitei is loosely modelled off of), Aizen, prior to his captaincy, would likely be entertained by oirans. I think he would have 2-3 oirans he would visit regularly, and as his rank was more established, would just really visit 2 oirans he preferred the most.

These oirans would be entertainers who were not only well-versed in traditional entertainment such as the musical kind, but also in whatever politics occur in the Sereitei.

Aizen is an intellectual person, so these oirans would need to be eager to learn and be receptive of what he shares. It's one thing to talk (he was a teacher after all), but Aizen also wants to be engaged.

Where the corruption kink might come in? Well oirans are not the highest level of courtesans, that in fact, were tayu. These entertainers did not engage in sex work and only catered to the elite.

She would be a "gift" to Aizen when he establishes his captaincy.

At the same time, this tayu wouldn't have sex with Aizen - he would need to woo her over.

But Aizen is the Master of Charm after all, so he sees it as a game between this tayu and him. When will she cave and give in?

This was Captain Aizen's fifth visit to your tea house, more specifically, fifth visit to you. You hated to admit you were counting.

You blushed deeply as you recalled the first time you met him. There were whispers in the red light district about how a lieutenant got promoted, but at the time you paid no mind.

Months went by and you nearly forgot about it, until your matron announced that you would be entertaining someone new rather than your regular, noble clan, patrons.

You had very little interactions with the captains of the 13 Court Guards. The only ones you knew of, were Captain Kyoraku (who had his own little harem of women he frequented in the district) and his friend Captain Ukitake. Your seniors would speak highly of them, but admitted that they didn't visit them as often.

Which to you, made sense, these were military captains, their visits for entertainment should be few and far between.

But that wasn't how you felt with Captain Aizen.

You hated to admit it, but you wanted him to see you more. His kindness and brilliance won you over. In your civilian clothing, you heard Soul Academy students praise him.

It made you wonder why he kept visiting you. Normally you were confident in your abilities to make men swoon. Some of your patrons (albeit drunkenly) make poems about your beauty and grace.

But Captain Aizen, no Sosuke, seemed amused by you. You were able to hold a conversation with him, but he would ask a small question, or a quick-witted comment, that left you flustered and embarrassed that you couldn't respond quickly.

At the same time, your matron became unimpressed by you as well. Unlike the few other tayus at the tea house, you still held your virginity intact. Many bidders had come forward, some from the noble clans themselves, but not Sosuke.

It bothered you. You wanted him to put himself in the running.

You knew Captains made a high salary, those who were frequented by Captain Kyoraku said as much. It wasn't like Captain Aizen couldn't afford you.

Maybe he was humouring you. Visiting you was something he did when he was bored.

But it bothered you nonetheless. Although his visits were sparse, he consumed your mind. On his 3rd visit to you, to sway his mind in putting in a bid, you mentioned casually that many nobles had begun requesting your company exclusively, that you may not be able to entertain him in the future. You wanted to spur him on with jealousy.

You recalled that moment so vividly. His gentle smile as he placed his teacup down, "That's too bad, isn't it? I'm not surprised your company is highly sought after." He told you, his deep voice soothing you, "I was hoping to enjoy your presence for a little longer though. There's still much we don't know about each other." He murmured, staring softly at you.

Those words haunted you. He was getting under your skin. And although his comments were seared into your mind, a small part of you knew it wasn't anything remotely meaningful or personal. It seemed like you had no effect on him at all...

Even tonight, as he sat across from you, sipping the tea you specifically purchased only for him, you felt like your body was on fire. He inspected your every move, from the flick of your wrist as you poured his cup, to the batting of your eyelashes as he complimented you. He was analyzing every part of your being.

But you wouldn't let him get the best of you tonight. You prepared yourself for weeks for his next visit, hoping that he would go to your matron to put in a bid.

You made notes on what to talk about, rehearsed witty comebacks and quick retorts. Something that would push him further.

"This tea is nice, but do you have any sake?" Captain Aizen asked. You nodded your head and gave him a few options of your personal favourites.

As you brought the warmed bottle and cups, you noticed he had loosened his attire. His chest was more visible, and you were more thankful than ever for the white makeup covering your skin. Your cheeks felt as if they were on fire. You bit your lip as you looked over him again. His broad shoulders, soft brown hair, strong arms and hands.

"Are you alright?" Aizen asked.

You shook your head, giving him your kindest smile, but inside you were angry at yourself for slipping like that.

But you carried on, and so did the night, with singing (Aizen accompanied you for some songs) and finally dancing. By then, you two had finished 2 bottles of sake. Aizen still seemed relatively sober, but you started to feel flushed.

You paid yourself no mind though, and kept going, wanting him to rush to your matron with payment ready - you were more than eager to spread your legs for him.

And just like that, as you danced to Aizen's voice, you tripped. Face planted right into his muscular chest.

You were mortified. But as you felt his warm, strong hand stroking your back, and the deep rumble of his voice, you felt yourself sinking further into him.

You weren't sure if it was the sake, the warmth of Captain Aizen's body, or the soft-lighting of the room, but without thinking, you gave him a kiss.

And to your surprise, he kissed back. And his grip on your body tightened. You moaned against his lips as you felt him grip the stiff cloth of your clothing, as if he was trying to grab on to your bare body, but you pushed him away.

You were panting, but he stared at you with a smirk across his face. His lips stained with your lip makeup.

Now you were annoyed. You undid a few of your sashes and robes and sat in his lap again, pulling his haori off his shoulders. You kissed him all over, your hands pulling and prying at him. You heard him pant, his grip tightening and loosening as he went over your body.

You wanted more. As you were about to pull his uniform off him, he grabbed your wrist.

"I think that's enough for tonight, little one. Let's continue again next time."

You gawked at him. The nerve! You thought to yourself as you threw yourself at him. And he had the audacity to rebuke you?!

"No!" You shouted, but not loud enough to draw attention to your room.

Aizen grinned, "and may I dare ask, why not?"

"I want you Captain Aizen" you pleaded, not realizing what you were saying, "no, I need you to touch me, please".

"Stop playing with me." You begged. You didn't realize how upset you were by his actions, "I just want to please you." You whined, fidgeting in his lap.

Aizen gripped the back of your neck as he steadied you for a kiss, then cruelly pulled your hair, snapping your head back.

"Is that so?" Aizen asked, as he looked at your face with curiosity in his eyes.

"Yes!" You pleaded again. "I don't want the others. Just you."

You winced as he gripped your hair even more, some of your hair adornments and accessories falling out. Tears pricked your eyes, but then he released you, gently massaging your head.

"Unfortunately I have to leave now, little one." Aizen said, you saw the gentleness appear in his eyes again. "But, we can meet here" he placed a note in your hands, with an address to somewhere in Rukongai. You nodded your head.

As you helped Aizen with his uniform and fix up his appearance, you gave him another quick kiss, to which he whispered in your ear, "don't come in this attire", followed by a nip to your earlobe, "wear something simple".

"Yes, sir." You murmured, as he stroked your back. You escorted him out of the teahouse and watched him leave the area. You heard your matron yell at you about not persuading Captain Aizen for a bid, but you felt euphoric. You retired to your room and slept peacefully.

No one at the teahouse understood what had happened to you in the following days. You rejected all your bids and left. There were whispers that maybe "she wasn't cut out for the job", "not everyone has the skills to be a tayu". Harsh words that would've left you in tears, but now? You didn't care.

You only wanted Captain Aizen's attention. And here you were, on your knees in a small house in Rukongai, your mouth wrapped around his cock.

Aizen smirked at you as tears streamed down your face. "Good girl" he murmured, tucking your hair behind your ear, and pulling your head off his cock. You gasped as saliva dribbled down your chin, with a trail linking your mouth to his cock, "not even the beauty of a full moon could compare to the sight of you like this".

"Thank you for your kind words, Aizen-sama". Aizen's smirk grew deeper as you flashed him a genuine smile.

I love the community aspect of fic writing so if you take the time to leave me a comment, I love to engage. I especially love it when commenters ask questions and look for discussion.

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? probably one of the old Prequel Star Wars Fics I wrote way back in the day.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Right now, it's a tie between You're the Lighting of the Blaze and Bright Star

8. Do you get hate on fics? Not on my fics directly but I have gotten some rancid hate in my inbox re: Abby (And then that escalated to telling me to end myself so). This is why I now have anons turned off. Sorry guys.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I do write smut! I'm not sure what it means by 'what kind'? I've done a few solo smut-shots, and Maiden will have a few explicit scenes when this arc is completed. I'm definitely someone who loves Plot with a side of Porn, and as long as the smut flows well and isn't overly repetitive, I'm here for it.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? I have written a crossover! I had a mini-series of Whedon-verse/Supernatural called It Must Be Tuesday back on LiveJournal. Sam and Dean meet River Tam in a bar and the apocalypse happen. Dean and Buffy hooked up. I was acutally very proud of that LOL

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not stolen but I did have some concepts lifted from a Once Upon a Time fic

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Not that I'm aware of!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes! Soulmates Never Die was co-written with a friend at the time (we've lost touch since then), and then when I was in the Charmed fandom, I adopted out an abandoned fic of mine and was the beta/co-writer on a big future Fic series with Wyatt, Chris, and Chris' friends. Those were some fantastic stories.

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship? Oh man. I really love me Jacelaena and Helaemond still has a soft place in my heart (but the trajectory of a lot of the fics has just been... a turn off). Harry/Luna will always be warm and fuzzy for me (I used to be the ship captain back in the Fiction Alley days). Buffy/Angel was my first real Fandom OTP.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Hmmm... I don't have anything right now that fits that. I did have Isabelle Martin's Life is Totally Over which was a Derek/Lydia future Kid fic that I was actually enjoying but the fandom was such an utter turn off by that point.

16. What are your writing strengths? God fuck if I know. I think I'm really good at tying things together/call backs and really emphasizing those themes. I like to think I'm thoughtful at cause/effect of character action and consequences. 

17. What are your writing weaknesses? I feel like my descriptions are lacking and I get lost in the weeds. I struggle with finding the stakes in a story. Conflict is difficult. 

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? me crying with dote on doing some appropriately translated high valyrian for Maiden instead of just copy/pasting from one of the online translators. Only very, very, VERY few people will know that they're grammatically correct and honoring the original development of HV, but it was important to ME.

19. First fandom you wrote for? Star Wars back in the late 90s.

20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written? Maiden obviously holds my heart and soul, and it's always going to be everything for me, but I'm actually incredibly proud of Fight For Me (If It's Not Too Late). It was a two parter, and I wrote it in the span of a week? Maybe two weeks? and it was the last thing I wrote for a very long time.

love is a series of organized chaos is a classic (smut). it's unfinished which is devastating but it's also in like one-shot form so it doesn't really leave a storyline hanging. but really it's so fucking good

if you want something to really Think about, most of Kourinn's English Collection is really good, specifically the MoHyo-verse ones. (they do a deep dive into dynamics and stuff, idk how to explain it but whenever i reread a work of theirs i always discover a new, deeper level to it)

and finally! Seasons by JesusCheese (i've mentioned this author before) is probably my favourite 9wice hurt/comfort fic. (please beware of the tags before you read it)

KICK BACK by Kenshi Yonezu A friend of mine played it while we were all chilling in our hotel room at a con, and its been stuck in my head ever since. Doesn't help that me and my friends just finished our read through of CSM part 1 in our manga book club. That baseline is so addicting....

New Shapes by Charlie XCX I'm mostly here for Chris, but the sound overall really hits for me, I love all the solos. The vid for this one is super enjoyable too, I enjoy Chris doing what I can only describe is "aggressively nonbinary dancing" in contrast to the other two. Great costume design too.

Hysterical Us by Magdalena Bay A song that was introduced to me by the person who tagged me actually. Very fun, very good vibes. Feels just a little bit magical and I like that. Fits right onto one of my many character playlists lol.

Chariot by Burn the Ballroom Came across this one recently via my Discover Weekly. I like it quite a bit, but it feels like its missing something. I think it would be perfect if it had one more verse in the last third instead of just playing some variations on the chorus. Well it is what it is and I still like it.

Souven1r from Splatoon 3: Side Order Excluding Spectrum Obligato, I think this is my favorite level track in Side Order. Very chill with just enough strangeness that occasionally resets my brain while listening to it. A mix of Side Order music have been getting me through some extremely busy work days and writing sessions recently, and I always appreciate when this one shows up.

(Ahhh... I forgot Unconscious... a song too good to only be used once in Side Order.. Can I give Unconscious the honorable mention? I love how much you can tell Marina's voice actor has grown in the last couple of years.)

Mostly Star Wars but within that I have written for The Clone Wars and the Thrawn trilogies.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Perception: My pride and joy - Commander Fox and Senator Riyo Chuchi overcome their own prejudices to bring about change in the galaxy. Got Your Back: A fic that is actually based off one of Caco's beautiful pieces! Bodyguard: My first ever Foxiyo fic! A story of Fox and Riyo falling in love softly while Fox serves as her bodyguard. One Day: My most recent long fic that is rexsoka. It's a modern au that is close to my heart, but I wish that I would have spaced the last two chapters apart more bc I think ppl thought the epilogue was the last chapter lol These Invisible Walls: I kind of forgot about this! When I wanted to write Perception, I demoed a few of the scenes that had been rolling around in my head here. Another awesome Foxiyo fic :)

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I usually do, but as I said above I have been Going Through It so I haven't made it to many. I'm sorry if I haven't responded, but please know I love each and every one of your comments! <333

6. What is a fic that you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I think it would have to be Consequence it takes place in my Belonging verse which is a long-form series where Thrawn and Eli raise their adopted daughter. The entire series is angsty with fluffy endings, but Consequence ends with walking on egg shells. Thunhe is captured and tortured to try and get to her dads. In that time Eli blames Thrawn for her capture and their relationship takes a terrible turn.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I think all my fics for the most part, but I think Perception probably has the happiest ending because EVERYONE is happy in the end.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Thankfully, no. I have been super blessed to have an amazing community of friends. <3

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do! Though I'm not sure how to describe it other than fluffy smut lol

Not really, no.

Omg that's such a hard question. Foxiyo will always have a special place in my heart, but I think Thranto currently has my whole heart. I love how much depth they both have and I think it gives the fandom a lot of material.

I'm not going to put this into the universe lol all wips will be finished!

16. What are you writing strengths?

I tend to be really hard on myself, but I think I'm halfway decent at writing dialogue.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Definitely syntax and grammar.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

I'm not a fan. I think it's cool to use it if you intend for your reader to not know, or if there is enough context to figure it out, but otherwise nah.

Law and Order SVU. Barson forever babeeeyy

20. Favorite fic you've written?

Ooo I think it might still be Perception, but I really like the Belonging Universe.
