something about how dean so completely parallels buffy summers from btvs like they are two iterations of the same character. i mean, buffy the vampire slayer is an undeniably a big influence on supernatural, even if the show itself wouldn’t exactly advertise that fact. you have sam’s sacrifice in swan song paralleling buffy’s sacrifice in the gift, the borrowing of a lot of demons and (god help me) lore, the weird amount of buffy actors in the show (sometimes playing vampires, which is hysterical), the campiness and horror. hell, even cas’s moment of pure happiness seems like a nod to angel’s moment of pure happiness. (dean and cas did it better though). but the biggest similarity is the way dean parallels buffy. he’s obviously not meant to. he’s supposed to be a gun-slinging, wise-cracking ladies man, but that’s not what he becomes. honestly that’s not even what he comes across as in the beginning. buffy and dean are both meant to be heroes, but buffy is the main character of her show, while that’s supposed to be sam in dean’s. and buffy and sam do share their similarities, particularly in their desire for normality which backfires on them because of their equally weighed desire to help people. but dean is so much more like buffy in so many ways?? like buffy, dean always feels everything is his responsibility (like he says in 7.05, “There’s always something eating at me. That’s who I am. something happens, I feel responsible, all right?”). this is largely in part thanks to j*hn winchester, while buffy’s sense of responsibility comes from the fact that a whole group of old white men have told her she’s the one girl in all the world who can fight evil. both of them kind of know on some level that this is kind of fucked up and even try attempting to fight back against their imposed duties occasionally. dean says it in 2.20: “Your happiness for all those people's lives, no contest. Right? But why? Why is it my job to save these people? Why do I have to be some kind of hero?” which is buffy to a t! that's what buffy is all about! the loneliness and unfairness of having this burden on your shoulders! buffy says this in prophecy girl: “I don't care! I don't care. Giles, I'm sixteen years old. I don't wanna die.” but they both always, always go back to do their job. they both always sacrifice their own happiness for others. none of the writers would have intended to have dean make a speech that is entirely parallel to buffy summers’s prophecy girl speech, right down to both sarah michelle gellar and jackles’s tears. because ha ha, buffy is a girl hero, while dean is the embodiment of every male fantasy about what an action hero is.

the thing is, though, when you make dean every male fantasy in the world - attractive, good with women, tough, strong, likes rock music, hates chick flick moments, knows how to shoot a gun, looks good doing it, etc - you make him every male fantasy about women too. which is how we get those slow, full-body shots of dean that you normally only get with women, how we get dean being a caretaker, dean being a pacifier between sam and john, dean watching dirty dancing and liking taylor swift, dean always being the bait, dean’s interactions with villains being framed sexually, dean getting called pretty twice a season. we joke about dean being a hot action girl but he is often objectified in the particular way only women in media are. the way buffy is - in the show i think they actually did a pretty good job of not objectifying buffy. but there are times where they do, and it’s uncomfortable, and it’s subtle, the way it is on spn. and buffy and dean are both used to this kind of treatment; they often weaponize their sexuality, using it when they feel threatened. in the first episode of s2, buffy’s just suffered the enormous trauma of being resurrected after having been bitten by a vampire whose violence has sexual undertones. when she comes back to her friends, they talk about how closed off and mean she’s being, culminating in the scene where she goes to the bronze. if you haven't seen that scene then i dont know how to explain the way she absolutely uses her sexuality against xander and angel, just like dean uses his as a front to protect himself against everyone. when buffy’s traumatized she pushes herself away from those closest to her, represses her emotions, and uses fighting demons as a distraction. sound familiar? buffy and dean both make witty pop culture references that monsters don’t understand and self-deprecating jokes about themselves to deal with when they feel threatened and their low opinions of themselves. buffy has a lot of lines that sound just like dean’s! @lazarusr1sing mentioned buffy saying, “I may be dead, but I’m still pretty, which is more than I can say for you,” as a line that dean literally could have said and it’s true! they’re both a fan of quirky banter during fights but they’re both so messed up when it comes to their opinions of themselves. buffy in 7x07: “I have all this power. I didn't ask for it. I don't deserve it. It's like... I wanted to be punished. I wanted to hurt like I thought I deserved. [...] I feel like I'm worse than anyone. Honestly, I'm beneath them. My friends, my boyfriends. I feel like I'm not worthy of their love. 'Cause even though they love me, it doesn't mean anything cause their opinions don't matter. They don't know. They haven't been through what I've been through. [...] Sometimes I feel...this is awful. I feel like I'm better than them. Superior.” yeah, that’s...dean.

and they absolutely dive into self guilt and hatred if something goes wrong, even if it’s not necessarily their fault. faith in 3x15 says to buffy, “In the balance, nobody's gonna cry over some random bystander who got caught in the crossfire,” and buffy says, “I am.” the amount of trauma buffy and dean both go through kind of desensitizes them to this idea - dean especially, i think, though that’s mainly the fault of the sheer amount of writers and episodes supernatural has - but if they get someone killed, they will do absolutely anything to make up for it.

the idea of sympathetic monsters in buffy and supernatural is met with scorn a lot of the time by buffy and dean. for buffy this is a matter of mental self-preservation. her job is to kill demons, and if she lets herself think all demons can be good, then that means she might have been killing sentient beings that could have done good or weren’t doing harm, since she was a teenager. she can’t let herself think that way so she closes herself off to the possibility of demons being good a lot of the time. we talk about how supernatural majorly drops the ball when it comes to empathizing with the monsters (where’s that post, you know, the, “saving people, hunting things, white men with guns decide which is which,” post), but when it comes to dean, part of that is because, like buffy, he doesn’t want to face the idea that he’s been killing things that aren’t evil since he was a child. he’ll make exceptions (cas, crowley, benny, rowena), like buffy makes exceptions (angel, spike, clem, oz, anya), but it’s easier if it’s all black and white. they’re both strangely attracted to monsters too, though, because part of them feels like they are monsters themselves. like @s4castiel said they have romantic or romantically implied relationships with things they’re meant to fight - dean with benny, cas, and crowley + buffy with angel, spike, and faith. and monsters change themselves for buffy and dean’s sakes – cas, benny, crowley, angel, spike, all become better for the sake of buffy and dean! like that leviathan in 7.06 who says dean doesn’t have relationships he has applications for sainthood!

they hate the idea of being seen as just a killer (dean in 3.10, “Daddy knew what you were. Good soldier and nothing else,” and buffy in 5.22, “Guess that means a Slayer really is just a killer after all.”) dean says, “[A killer] is not who I am,” to chuck in 15.19, just like buffy says, “A slayer is not a killer,” through the later seasons. spike’s speech in 5.07 i think, really says it: “Death is on your heels, baby, and sooner or later, it's gonna catch you. And part of you wants it, not only to stop the fear and uncertainty, but because you're just a little bit in love with it. Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day, that final gasp, that look of peace.” their worst fear is that all they can do is hurt other people. they’ve been brought up to think violence is all they can do. but they both are first and foremost protectors, especially when it comes to sam and dawn, whose roles in both shows respectively is to be a reminder of dean and buffy’s humanity.

dawn, who first shows up in season 5 as buffy’s younger sister, is, represents buffy’s most beloved parts of herself, buffy’s humanity. sam is a lot like her in the respect that their destiny was to end the world; they’re both book-smart too, while buffy and dean act a lot like dumb blondes despite being incredibly intelligent in ways that aren’t clear to everyone. (not to go on a tangent but they’re both really good battle tacticians who make a lot of references to literature and tv shows and can perceive people and monsters’ weaknesses, etc.) dawn is dangerous to the world like sam is dangerous to the world in s2-s5, but buffy will not kill her like dean will not kill sam. you know how in the end 2009 dean realizes just how much 2014 dean has changed when he talks about killing sam as lucifer? sam is dean’s humanity like dawn is buffy’s humanity. they both put their siblings over everything else in the world. they sacrifice things that sam and dawn can’t begin to understand because dean and buffy shield them from it - dean in 2.22: “I had to take care of you. It’s my job,” and buffy in 6.14: “Dawn, the most important job that I have is looking out for you.” in s5 of buffy, if dawn lives, the world ends, and buffy doesn’t care because she can’t kill dawn. in 5.22 she says, “I don't understand. I don't know how to live in this world if these are the choices. If everything just gets stripped away. I don't see the point. I just wish that...I just wish my mom was here. [..] If Dawn dies, I’m done with it. I’m quitting,” paralleling dean quitting hunting after sam dies. they’re both insanely protective over dawn and sam - dean in 2.09: “You make a move on [Sam], you'll be dead before you hit the ground,” and buffy in 5.22: “I’ll kill anyone who comes near Dawn.” when sam dies in 2.22, dean doesn’t hesitate to offer up his soul in exchange for sam’s life; when dawn is about to die to save the world in 5.22, buffy doesn’t hesitate to die to save the world in dawn’s place. this all on top of the fact that sam and dawn are the babies, the ones dean and buffy have to take care of, which means that...no one is taking care of dean and buffy. like, dean in 3.10: “Sam, [John] doted on. Sam he loved,” and buffy’s mom in 5.05 hugging dawn and calling her “little punkin belly” and in response to buffy’s question of, “Did you ever have any names for me?” says, “No, I think you were always just Buffy.” when buffy’s mom gets sick in s5, buffy has to shoulder an incredible amount of responsibility - giving her mom her medicine, taking care of her, taking care of dawn, fighting a hellgod - and can’t break down in front of anyone because she has to be strong for dawn and her mom, the way dean has to be strong for sam and john (john in 2.01: “You took care of Sammy, you took care of me. You did that, and you didn't complain, not once.) they’re both so scared of opening up and being a burden - buffy’s nightmare hallucination of her deadbeat dad in 1.10 says the same kind of stuff about her being a burden and unwanted that zachariah’s projection of mary says in 5.16. it really is about the eldest sister complex in the end!!!

but they didn’t ever really mean to have dean be like buffy! buffy was literally meant to subvert traditional male action heroes. buffy summers is the male action hero, but she gets to have feelings and traditionally feminine traits too. she likes cheese and wearing pink and dressing up and having pretty hair, but she thinks about battle tactics and kills a vampire like every episode. dean? dean is meant to be the male action hero without the part about having feelings and traditionally feminine traits...except that backfires spectacularly. i mean, they give dean traits such as liking nightgowns to be like haha, wink-wink, nudge-nudge, isn’t that HILARIOUS. except it doesn’t come off that way, we know it doesn’t come off that way. so dean’s watched dead poets society and rent and he sings along to air supply and is good with kids and nerds out over cowboys, but he drives a classic muscle car and kills death and carries a gun with him everywhere he goes. dean and buffy both become multifaceted, complicated, human heroes – but it was intentional for buffy. it was unintentional for dean, so the narrative actively punishes him for it. i mean ymmv on how you feel about the ending of buffy, but she does get a satisfying happy ending. dean, on the other hand, is silenced and killed off and gets the worst possible ending for his character, all because they couldn’t control him.

➳ lucifer notices it right away, though he doesn’t say anything, running through scenarios in his head on why you would have washed with his shampoo. maybe you were out of your own? he can’t deny the little thrill that runs through him when he smells his scent surrounding you. “like how i smell so much you had to take it for yourself?” he asks, curious. was it intentional? why were you wearing it? he’s burning with the need to know but doesn’t want you to realize it.

➳ mammon blushes immediately when he smells his shampoo on you. it’s a distinctive scent, so he knows it’s not mistaken, but you don’t seem to notice his flustered state as you snuggle further into him. “um,” he starts, and you look up, eyes innocently wide. “is that, uh, my shampoo?” he manages, and you smile, nodding. “i borrowed it… asmo has mine and i dodn’t realize until i was in the shower. you don’t mind, do you?” him, mind you using his snampoo? never. “nope,” he squeaks, and you immediately begin planning to never use your own again.

➳ levi doesn’t notice at first, since he doesn’t use very scented stuff, but when he does, he freezes, wondering if he’s imagining it. he’s not, but he doesn’t know how to confront you about it, so he doesn't, just swallowing hard and wrapping his arms around you. you don’t mention it, not that you’d have a reason to, but levi can’t stop thinking about it, the fire in his stomach oddly satiated by the idea of you smelling like him all of the time. maybe if he doesn’t bring it up you’ll keep doing it. please keep doing it.

➳ satan notices right away, a smile curving across his lips. he’d been hoping when you rook a shower in his room you’d used his products, and it appears you had. you smell like him, all crisp and fresh, and satan has to wonder if you like the scent. you’ve never said you didn’t, but then again you never said you did. “you know,” you say conversationally, “your shampoo made my hair really soft. maybe i should move away from using human world products.” check and mate. “yeah, maybe,” satan replies. “i’ve got some extra bottles of shampoo if you want it.”

➳ asmo doesn’t even notice at first. he’s so used to smelling you in a wide range of sencts, and sometimes he forgets he’s wearing a particular product until he can smell it. when he realizes you’re wearing his personal shampoo, he has to hold back his glee. “like my shampoo and conditioner?” he asks, running a hand down your back. “i sure like it on you.” you huff out a laugh, nodding. “it’s nice. i’m sure my hair will be really healthy if i continue to use it.” asmo grins, waving his hand. “by all means, use it as much as you want!”

➳ beel literally doesn’t care, not that you expected him to. as long as you're clean and happy, he’s happy. he does notice it, but since he’s used your products before in a pinch he doesn’t mind. beel has a very ‘what’s mine is yours’ mentality, so it’s unlikely he’ll pitch a fit or anything. he does tell you you smell good, though, making you laugh. at least he likes the products he’s using on himself.

➳ belphie smells his scent on you as soon as you climb into bed with him, making him more awake. “is that my shampoo?” he asks, brushing a finger across your damp hair. you nod, and he resists the urge to crush you into his chest, inhaling deeply. you smell like him, and belphie wants to take you out around town like this, when you’re practically dripping in him, his scent, showing all of devildom that you’re his.

➳ diavolo is another one of the boys who doesn’t mind. he loves sharing his stuff with you, wants you to use them, and when you do it makes him happy. “you used my shampoo!” he chirps, burying his face into your neck, making you squirm away. “stop! that tickles,” you admonish. “but yes, i did. i forgot mine.” diavolo taps his chin. “i can buy you some.” shaking your head, you take his phone from his hand, closing akuzon. “no, it’s alright. i’m only here for a few days. i can use yours until then.”

➳ simeon is the one who offered you use his shampoo in the first place. you’d been lamenting about your lackluster hair, and he’d jumped on the opportunity, offering his. angel shampoo and conditioner would no doubt restore your hair to its previous glory, as it was specially made to be healing and rejuvenating. “i like my smell on you,” he says plainly, and you flush. you like it too and he knows it, making him want to send you home with a bottle or two.

➳ lucifer regrets his harsh criticisms immediately. the situation wasn’t fully your fault yet he had been hardest on you, something he knew was unfair. a sick feeling welled up in his gut as he watched you press your fists to your eyes, trying desperately to stifle your tears, to put on a strong facade, even as you were falling apart. pride be damned, lucifer steps forward to comfort you. “hey, mc, darling, i’m so sorry. i didn’t mean that. please forgive me.” gently pushing your hands aside, he wipes your tears himself, gently cupping your cheeks. shushing you, he internally berates himself, reminding himself not to be so cruel.

➳ mammon curses under his breath, face falling. again, he spoke without thinking, snapping at you and hurting your feelings. god, he was so stupid. “mc, i’m so sorry. i didn’t mean to make ya cry,” mammon tries, unsure of what to say. “i’m so dumb, please forgive me.” he doesn't know whether he should touch you or not, so he just stands there awkwardly, hand outstretched to you. “you want to hit me or somethin’? would that make ya feel better?” that’s apparently the wrong thing to say, as you just end up crying harder. grabbing his hand and pulling him towards you, you wrap your arms around him and squeeze, forcing all of the air out of his lungs in one swift movement. mammon melts into the hugs, blinking back his own tears as he buries his face in your hair.

➳ levi doesn’t know what to do, like, at all. should he apologize? he didn’t mean to make you cry! biting his lip, levi just sits there, silent. it’s painful to watch you try to pull yourself together, but he doesn’t know how to help, doesn’t know how to make it better. he can’t even think of an anime scene that showed this situation! “i’m really sorry,” he offers after a moment, looking at his hands. “i didn’t mean to make you cry.” you’re sniffling now, and levi braves a glance at you. you’re not looking at him. tail thumping against the floor uncomfortably, levi waits for you to leave, leave him like he deserves. but you don’t, even when you’re upset with him, and levi is so, so grateful.

➳ satan pushes back the rage and anger he feels, viciously fighting against his nature. “please forgive me,” he pleads. “i’m so sorry. i can’t believe i made you cry. how ungentlemanly of me.” frowning, more at himself than anything, he pulls his handkerchief from his pocket, handing it to you. “if you’d like me to go, i understand.” waiting for your decision, satan shifts his weight nervously, something he never does. you shake your head, thankfully, and satans able to breathe again, able to step forward and pull you into an embrace, focused solely on your comfort, the reason he was upset completely forgotten about and discarded.

➳ asmo stops in his tracks th moment he sees your eyes become glassy, immediately backtracking. “i’m so sorry! that was too much, i take it back.” turning around, amso hurriedly grabs the box of kleenex he keeps on his nightstand, handing them to you. “don’t cry. please.” his minifridge is right there, so he takes a cool pack out of it, carefully laying it across your eyes to prevent swelling. he still flutters around you, even as you sit, apologizing and making sure you don’t need or want anything. eventually, you tire of his constant mutterings and pull him down next to you, declaring you need a pillow, and his chest will do just fine. he takes the olive branch for what it is, stroking your hair and rubbing your shoulders.

➳ beel is frozen. how could he have done this? he didn’t mean to make you cry. scolding himself, he tries to figure out what to do, panicking slightly. “mc, i’m very sorry. i was too harsh.” picking you up, he sets you on the kitchen counter, wetting a napkin so you can wipe your face. you take it, and he wrings his hands, unsure of the next step. the kitchen is quiet as you calm down, and beel waits for his scolding, knowing full well he deserves it. “i am really sorry,” he says again when the silence grows too loud, and when you take his hand he lets out the breath he was holding.

➳ belphie awkwardly looks at you, all of the fight draining out of him. he didn’t want to make you cry, or hurt at all, really, but his mouth ran away again, and well, look where he ended up. should he apologize? he wants to, but would that bring you back to square one? deciding that doesn’t really matter, belphie shuffles closer to you. “sorry, mc, i didn’t mean that. i went too far.” it’s hard for him to apologize, or well, it should be, but the thought of you not forgiving him is infinitely harder. “i take it back. all of it.” placing a hand on your shoulder he waits, seeing if you don't want him to touch you, but you don’t move away, leaning slightly into the touch, so he feels its okay to cradle your face in his hands, smearing your tears across your cheeks as he wipes them away.

➳ lucifer clears his throat. “was it something i did?” you look up, brows furrowed. “what?” “you obviously don’t like me as much as the others and i want to understand why so i can rectify my behavior immediately.” he almost can’t bear to look in your eyes, yet he does, nervous for your reply. “is this about the nicknames?” at his nod, you can’t help but chuckle a little, scrubbing your face with your hand. “i’m sorry that i gave you that impression. i just was hesitant to call you by something other than your name as it seemed like something you wouldn't appreciate. i’d love to give you a nickname if you’re okay with that.” lucifer’s stunned. that’s all it was? quickly agreeing, lucifer feels much better after your conversation and infinitely better next time you breeze past him with a ‘coming through, darling’.

➳ mammon pouts, watching you shower asmo and levi with pet names and nicknames. he was your first man, the great mammon, and yet, you never called him by anything like that. it wasn’t fair! noticing his sour mood, you come over, gently asking what’s wrong. “why don’t i get a nickname like them?” mammon whines. “do ya not love me the same?” for all of his theatricality, you’re able to see the genuine hurt underneath it all. “oh, no, mammon,” you say, sweeping him into a hug. “nothing like that. i just haven’t found one i like yet! that’s all, i swear.” reassured, mammon almost feels a little silly. of course that was all it was. it takes a few more days, but when you ask him to get you something with a ‘please, sweetpea’, he moves faster than he has in a millennium.

➳ levi can almost feel his envy like a physical thing, coiled hotly in his gut. he watches as mammon leans into your praise, the pet name no doubt sounding like music to ears. to levi, it sounds horrible. why doesn’t he get a pet name? is he not good enough? oh, he knew you could never love someone like him. too caught up in his pity party, he misses you talking to him and is only brought out of his thoughts by your hand on his shoulder. “hey, hon, are you okay? i called your name like, five times.” hon? is that his? it’s perfect. realizing he still hadn’t answered you, levi snaps out of it. “o-oh, i’m fine. can you call me that again?” “what, hon?” at his eager nod, you laugh. “sure, hon. consider it done.”

➳ satan can’t focus on his book, not with you right there, calling lucifer honey, of all things. the great avatar of pride, reduced to honey! it was laughable. sort of. as much as he’d never admit it, he longed to be granted a nickname, much like everyone else. in all of the books he had read, pet names and nicknames were signs of trust, of love, and yet, here he was, without one. snapping his book shut with a huff, he pulled himself up, storming out of the living room. “what’s up with him?” you ask, but he doesn’t hear the reply. it’s only a few minutes before you find him, though. he really should put some time toward making new hiding spots. “satan,” you say. no response. remembering what asmo had explained as the reason for satan storming off, you try a new tactic. “baby.” the creation is instantaneous. his face reddens, and he slowly looks over at you. “if you wanted a pet name why didn't you just say something?” he pretty much doesn’t hear you, his mind echoing ‘baby, baby’ back at him.

➳ asmo dramatically falls onto his bed, face screwed up, if he had to listen to one more minute of you cooing over all o the rest of those- those traitors, then he’s surely puke! as soon as you age them a nickname they were gone, firmly placed under your honeyed spell. and it wasn’t fair! he wanted to be there too, and he would go, happily, but for whatever reason, you still hadn’t called him a nickname! a knock on his door startles him, and a moment later, your head hesitantly pokes through the doorway. “asmo? are you okay?” childishly, asmo turns his head away from you, muttering a no. undeterred, you climb up beside him, flopping down. “what’s going on?” you wait patiently, and finally, when asmo explains the situation, you apologize. “sorry, i never realized. i’ll make an effort to call you by a pet name from now on. how does ‘gorgeous’ sound?”

➳ beel frowns, rubbing his neck. “can you call m a nickname like you do everyone else?” the question comes out of nowhere, and you gape at him, trying to see where he’s coming from. “what?” “you call all of my brothers by a pet name but you haven’t ever done that to me.” realization dawns on you and your face falls as you think about it, and yep, he’s right. you’ve never called him by a nickname. “i’m sorry, beel. thank you for bringing it up with me, otherwise, it might have taken me a while to realize it.” you hug him, and the situation seems much better in beel's eyes, especially when you continue to call him ‘handsome’ whenever you talk to him.

➳ belphie knows it’s fair, knows you have a good reason not to grant him with a term of endearment like the others, yet it still burns, something still aches inside of him whenever he hears one of the others get called ‘sweetheart’ or ‘cutie’. he wants, so badly, to ask you to give him a nickname, but he can’t, not with everything that’s happened between you two. your relationship just isn’t there yet, and he has to accept it. so he somewhat puts it out of his mind, meaning he’s not prepared when out of the blue you say “hey, pudding, do you mind passing the salt?” “me?” you laugh. “yeah, you. who else would i be talking to?” it’s a good point; you two are the only ones in the kitchen. he’s elated, of course, but really, pudding?

➳ lucifer lends you his jacket without hesitation, gently draping it over your shoulders. “i told you you should have brought a jacket,” he chides gently, “though i’ll admit it’s even colder than i thought it’d be.” his jacket is warm and thick, the pleasant and familiar smell of his cologne drifts off of the collar, and despite ourself, you can’t help but indulge in a good sniff, hoping lucifer doesn’t see. he totally does, but his stomach does a weird wiggly thing that keeps him from bringing it up. the idea of you enjoying the way he smells… well, it’s an intriguing thought.

➳ mammon blinks at you. “oh! ya want to borrow my jacket? sure thing?” he shrugs out of it, passing it over without any fanfare. “sorry, i haven’t washed it in a few days.” you zip it up, the sleeves falling over your hands, and are instantly warmer, the thick material already heated thanks to mammon’s body heat. you shove your hands in the pockets, startled to feel stuff in them, and when you pull it out, you’re unsurprised to see a few crumpled up wrappers, some coins, and a few other random small items. it’s somehow so mammon, and you can't help but smile as you put it back.

➳ beel skips handing his sweatshirt to you, instead tugging it gently over your head. the fabric pools around you, soft and warm, and it falls nearly to your knees. you’re grateful though, hugging yourself as you bask in not being cold anymore. “is that better?” beel asks earnestly, and you nod, rolling the sleeves up a couple of times. “good. you can keep it, if you want. i have a bunch of others.” beel isn’t lying, but his intentions aren’t completely pure; he likes seeing you in his clothes, likes being able to help when you need it.

➳ belphie doesn’t really want to part with his jacket, but he supposes he should, for you. after all, he’s not going to be responsible for your suffering. besides, he’s a demon and can withstand the cold much longer than you can. your chilled fingers fumble on the buttons, making him sigh and gently push them aside. “what would you do without me?” he says with a little sigh, deftly finishing them, his hands lingering a little longer than they should have. “freeze,” he says, after a moment, answering his own question, pretending he’s unaffected by the bashful grin you’re giving him.

➳ diavolo wraps his coat around you, the fabric soft against your neck. “i hope this helps,” he says, feeling somewhat responsible for your chattering teeth. “we’ll have to go shopping to get you a sturdier coat.” he likes seeing you in red, likes how it looks against your skin, likes how you were unafraid to ask him for it, even though he’s the demon lord. you shove your hands in the pockets, smiling up at him. the coat is thick and comfortable, and you like how he obviously likes seeing you in it. maybe you should ask him for it more often.

➳ lucifer scoffs. “seriously, mc, that’s untrue. it’d be a little ridiculous if i were your whole world, not to mention unhealthy.” his cheeks are warm under your hands and the tips of his ears are red. he doesn’t pull away, though, and you count that as a win, slowly scraping your thumbs across his skin. he rarely lets you do this- rarely succumbs to the craving for affection he so clearly has, but when he does, you take full advantage, milking it for as long as you possibly can.

➳ mammon stares at you, wordless. you watch slowly as his cheeks flush under your hands, a little concerned. “can ya say that again?” he asks, almost whispering, and you repeat yourself, willing to say it as many times as he needs it. “i can hold the whole world in my hands. mammon, you’re my world.” after a few minutes, his bravado returns, allowing him to preen under your touch. “damn right you can,” he crows, brilliant smile peeking out from under his smirk. “because i’m your world, ya got that!”

➳ levi squeaks, closing his eyes. “this is like that one anime i watched!” he says, more to himself, tail lashing back and forth. “oh my god, mc said i’m their whole world!” his eyes open in record speed, and he looks at you, eyes flickering from your face and the wall behind you, suddenly worried. “were you kidding? please tell me you weren’t.” soothing him, you promise you weren’t, making him all flustered again. he smiles at you, adoration clear in his gaze and you’re sure you look just as dopey staring back at him.

➳ satan chuckles, taking your hand and pressing a kiss to your palm. “that’s cute, mc. and what a coincidence, too.” flipping your positions, his hands are suddenly on your cheeks. “i can hold my whole world in my hands as well.” now you’re the one flustered, goddammit. he chuckles once more, sliding his hands off of his cheeks and down to your shoulders, pulling you closer to him. from there, he drops a kiss on the top of your head, leaving you to reboot as he saunters off.

➳ asmo smiles, slow and intentionally, hands coming up to grip your wrists lightly, holding you there. “oh? can you?” he asks, sliding closer to you. “i’ll admit, i’ve been called a lot of things, but someone’s whole world? that’s a new one.” leaning in, you expect him to kiss you, but he bypasses your lips and goes right to your ear, breath fanning against it. “you already know what you mean to me,” he purrs, sending a shiver down your spine. “but i suppose it can’t hurt to remind you.”

➳ beel furrows his brows, confused. “what? but i’m not a world. i’m just beelzebub. mc, are you okay? did you it your head? do you need to go to the doctor?” laughing, you squish his cheeks in your hands. “no, silly, it was like a metaphor. it means that you’re my world, not a world.” beel is quiet for a moment. “oh! i see what you mean now. well, in that case, i guess i can hold the whole world -no, all of them- in my hands too!” he cups your cheeks, smiling at you sweetly, and you can’t help but grin back.

➳ belphie rolls his eyes, acting unaffected, but really, he wants to melt. you’re insinuating he’s your world! he knew he was important to you, but this important? you watch in amusement as he tries to push down the flattered and embarrassed feelings, and he definitely isn’t as successful as he thinks he is, as you can feel his cheeks heat up and see him swallowing his words down. it’s cute, and he’s cute, and when you tell him that, then he’s really unable to keep the blush off of his face.

Now for part two I will be doing Ichihime.

Honestly I knew Ichihime would be endgame from early on in the manga and series.

A lot of IR claim that Ichihime doesnt make sense or that they have no development..which at this point I think this is what any anti for any pairing in every anime say.. because that's obviously not true at all.

Even from the very beginning.. not only do we know that Orihime likes Ichigo, but Ichigo seems to pay attention to Orihime, extra close at times.

In this panel, he admits that he worries about her and watching her wears him out with worry, he even wonders if she's really alright. Now its important to remember that this is fairly earlier in the story and at this time Orihime is only an acquaintance at best..but here he is worrying about her.

Not only does he notice her getting hurt...but during the Fullbringer arc he said that she was more likely to get followed or stalked than him when Orihime asked if anyone has been following him.

Hell he's even offered to walk her home.

Weird considering they're only acquaintances at this point right? While I know it's rare for the shounen protagonist to have a crush right off the bat..for arguments sake let's say you look at ichihime interactions with the idea that Ichigo has some sort of crush on Orihime. I feel like his interactions with her make more sense throughout the series and keep this I mind through this post.

Now antis always love to say that Orihime didn't understand Ichigo or couldn't encourage him like Rukia could..but..

Here! Even Tatsuki who has known him since childhood couldn't tell it wasnt Ichigo or his other friends.. but Orihime does notice..she knows that's not him right away.

And here Orihime right away knew he wasn't acting like himself...even Tatsuki was impressed, she said it took her years to figure that out.

Oh yeah she cant encourage him right?? Not only did she give Ichigo the resolve to go save Rukia..but during the Grimmjow fight.. Ichigo was so afraid of frightening Orihime with his mask that he wasn't focusing on the battle.. know think about that..he was so scared to frighten Orihime he wasn't fighting..knowing he could die or get really hurt.

I also hear antis say that Orihime is horrible for being scared of Ichigo when he was still fighting to save her but they need to understand that in the first few chapters of bleach..Orihime was attacked by her brother..her beloved brother, the only family she ever had before he died and he attacked her..as a hollow..and now she's looking at the man she loves with a hollow mask and she's afraid FOR him not necessarily OF him..she's afraid he'll turn completely hollow( which is fair, considering he does later during the ulquiorra fight).

Then all she had to say " please dont die..you dont have to fight for me and you dont have to win..just please dont get hurt". And Ichigo was ready to fight for real..then beat Grimmjow.

She was also able to feel his pain somehow and knew he was crying when he got his powers stolen despite her being far away from him at the time.

Not to mention at this time she was brainwashed by Tsukishima making her and Chad think Ichigo was the one going crazy, but even though she was brainwashed to think it was Tsukishima who she loved..her heart knew better and still felt Ichigo's pain even without seeing him.

Not to mention she was able to see he had a plan to defeat Ywach just from one look into his eyes.

So yeah.. Orihime does understand Ichigo more than most..and just because Rukia does too doesnt mean he should be with her.

And on Ichigo's side antis also say he doesn't care about Orihime only Rukia..and if he does care it's only because Ichigo is protective of his friends.

Now it's clear through the whole series that Ichigo does care about all his friends..but it's also apparent that Ichigo does hold Orihime to a different standard.

This is not far into the story..at this point they are still only classmates and only a few pages ago Ichigo refused to take over Rukia's Soul reaper duties..until he found out a hollow was after Orihime.

Or when Yammy and Ulquiorra hurt Orihime..they also hurt Tatsuki and Chad but he was shown to be obsessing over Orihime ( despite the fact she could literally reverse her injuries) and the fact Tatsuki was a human with no powers should've made him worry over her more..but he felt so guilty for not protecting Orihime he couldn't even look her in the eyes..it got so bad that Rukia made him go to her and look her in the eye and he vowed to never let anyone hurt her again, pluse he didn't apologize to anyone else..just Orihime. I also find it funny how Rukia seems to be a ichihime shipper while her fans hate Orihime and want her to be with Ichigo..I find it funny.

Then we all know how hurt he was when Orihime got taken to Hueco Mundo.. Yes I understand he did rescue Rukia as well but he even said its because he owed her..and he did he owe her his and his families lives..and she was his friend and only on death row because of him. But with Orihime she chose to go to protect her friends and Ichigo had no obligations to her other than she was his friend..

He also walked around like a zombie not even caring when Tatsuki beat the hell out of him asking where Orihime was. He even yelled and threw a fit at the captain commander(you know the strongest soul reaper alive) for suggesting she was a traitor..

He even went against the entire soul society wishes (as a substitute soul reaper no less) to go find Orihime in Hueco Mundo.

One of my favorite scenes is when Ichigo was hurrying to go help Chad and Rukia who were badly injured at the time..when Ulquiorra appears and tries to goad him into a fight.. nothing works until Ulquiorra mentions he was the one who brought Orihime to Hueco Mundo ..which in turn infuriates Ichigo and he swings his sword at him in a blind rage..(remember he was supposed to be helping Chad and Rukia who were injured) but he was so angry that he was the one who brought Orihime there...he didn't say he hurt her or tortured her...he only said he brought her. And. Ichigo. Flipped.

One of my other favorite scenes is when he almost literally rises from near death to get Grimmjow's hands off of Orihime

LET GO OF HER! Was the first thing he says never mind he was almost dead a few minutes ago and still can barely stand. And look at that face his eyes mean business.

And of course one of the most epic Ichihime moments is when Ulquiorra defeats Ichigo and kills him.. he hears Orihime calling for help as Ulquiorra advances to her.. and as he's dying he hears her and tells himself he needs to help her and protect her..even in death he needs to protect her. And yes I'm aware that his inner hollow is the one keeping him from dying..but the only reason Hichigo doesnt completely take over Ichigo and lose his humanity was his will to protect Orihime. Ichigo was chanting " help her", "help her", over and over like a mantra..that's was the last shred of his humanity and even his last shred of humanity wanted nothing more than to protect Orihime.

Not only is Ichigo extra protective of Orihime..but he get flustered around her too.

Like during The Thousand Year Blood War Arc.. when Ichigo was asked by Chad if he liked Orihime's outfit ( Which was very revealing..especially in the boob area) and Ichigo was blushing like an idiot of course.

While most antis swear it's just because Orihime is very beautiful and has a very large chest..remember Chad or Uryu didn't react despite them being males as well..just Ichigo.

Not only that but all of Ichigos enemies always use Orihime to bait him into fights. Enemies like Grimmjow, Nnotora, Ulquiorra, and even Ginjo..they all taunted him about how he was so determined to protect Orihime that they would use her presence to push Ichigo into fighting them.

Antis also claim that they didn't develop.. they went from classmate acquaintances to friends fighting side by side in battle. Orihime went from being shy and stuttering and being nervous in his room to borrowing manga from him and just marching in his room and both teasing each other. Ichigo also went from wanting to protect Orihime by leaving her on the side lines and out of harm's way.. to trusting her to be his shield in battle.

IR"s also claim that Rukia is better than Orihime because she's stronger. Now I know Rukia is strong no doubt..especially when she finally releases her bankai. But for most of the series she hardly does anything..even my husband noticed she only won like two or three fight the whole series and most of the time she was so beat up after she looks like she lost the fight. I'm not trying to talk down on Rukia I love her actually.. it's just is you go back and read the manga..Rukia didn't do much either.. plus Orihime actually has a really really OP power she just doesn't have the heart to hurt anyone so she usually uses her shield or healing, but just like Rukia they didn't do much with her powers.

In the end Ichihime had quite a bit of development..I'm not saying Rukia and Ichigo didnt have a bond..because they had a strong one..but that doesn't always mean romantic..I always felt it was more brother/ sister type than anything. But if you go back and look at all of the Ichihime moments you'll realize their bond as well..you'll realize that Orihime was always their during the really important times and fights.. like the Grimmjow fight, Ulquiorra, fight, the Nnotora fight, his Fullbringer training, his Visored training, and she stood side by side with him in the Ywach fight.

He was actually separated from Rukia more than he was with her..even when they were in the same places..they were always separated. Kubo..I feel made it very clear from early on that ichihime would be endgame..I feel some people were just in denial.

What got you writing fanfiction?

ooooh man oh man long/rambling post ahead

tldr: I've been writing since I could read, so it was sort of a natural progression

So I've been writing for as long as I can remember? I have an older sister and she was def a big influence. She used to write stories and read them to me, and since I've always had stuff in my head i started writing, too, bc of that. She taught me to read when i was 4 lol, and as soon as i could read, i started writing.

I wanna say i was in 2nd or 3rd grade when i had an idea for an atla/dbz crossover, so i took it up w my sister and we started writing it together. We didn't even know what fanfiction was, and we were writing it 😭😭

We'd stay at my uncle's during summer while my parents were working, nd he was kind enough to let my sister & i borrow his computer and pretty much have free reign. From there, we discovered the OG fanfic sites. I'm talking quotev, deviantart, quizzilla

For me, once I consume so much content I start getting ideas of what I want to see and start making my own. So i started writing fanfics and posting them on the sites i used bc i had a bounty of ideas. Kind of embarrassing to admit but when i was in 5th grade nd we first got chromebooks in my school, I'd finish my work earlier and have freetime, so I wrote!

I published my works online when i was as young as ten (if anyone wants to see my shitty old wattpad account it's @ImmaBaka plz dont judge too hard, you can also look at my older works on ao3 lol) and anytime i wrote smth i was moderately proud of I'd intermittently post, but I've always written only when I was struck w inspiration.

But when I was a freshman, I applied & got into a course at a local college for poetry writing. We had weekly classes and assignments, and it guaranteed i wrote on a daily basis. I was legitimately practicing, and thus improving. Making myself look at my writing and not just go "i have an idea I'll jot it down nd never think about it again."

Before quarantine, I didn't have the time to put much thought into writing fanfics but when i realized i did have that time at my disposal, I wanted to challenge myself to write more. Not just what I thought of or got struck with, but taking on different ideas and the like.

I've mentioned it before, but this account is actually four?? Years old. I deleted the pre-hq posts, but my "first" post (tsukishima hanahaki fic) was smth similar where i was struck w inspiration and wanted to write. But for the first time i started trying to update moderately normally, and then quarantine gave me a whole world of time so i took this hobby and decided to build on it.

I'm not sure if i really answered this question at all. Writing has always been natural to me and like i said, i wrote fanfiction before i knew what fanfiction was. It's just what I've always done either to escape to my own mind place or get my ideas out into the world.

black versus blue : taekook, soulmate au, a LOT of angst, i LOVE this fic, hurt/comfort, dr tae, side yoonmin and namjin, rated E, 41k words.

summary: Everyone (including Taehyung, Jimin's best friend) could only talk about the ball the royal family was going to give in honor of the princes. Every single one was thinking and worrying about which clothes they should wear and how to impress the two, very single, princes. Jimin? He could only think about the new regular, who had a sweet tooth and the cutest smile he had ever seen.

The Universe Has Moved For Us, Without Missing A Single Thing : minjoon, such a feel good fic, tsundere min, canon, with a bit of yoonjin, so good, rated M, 14k words.

summary: Jimin is tasked to create his next comeback with his least favourite producer at BIGHIT, RM.

He is petty and bitter from day one.

summary: Jimin doesn’t know why it starts. Maybe it’s the eightieth post he’s seen today about him being rejected by Jungkook. But whatever the reason, Jimin starts to not care anymore.

The Boy in the Music Box : yoonmin, mystical au i guess?, college au, rated T, 52k words.

summary: Yoongi doesn’t really expect anything special when he finds an old music box in his grandmother’s attic and she tells him to keep it. Oh sure, he expects the music box to be a pretty decoration to add to the stale interior of his small apartment. i posted this on twitter but thought u guys would like to see this too!! here’s (a lot of) ellie/dina headcanons!!

dina’s taller than ellie when they first meet, but that slowly changes as they get older. ellie just strikes me as a very, very late bloomer

dina is slow to anger & ice cold when she's actually mad/upset. ellie is a lot quicker than dina to grow a real temper & doesn't need many reasons to SNAP

dina's got no fucks to give and sleeps with her feet poking out of the blanket. also, she's a snuggler.

i think dina has a family of some kind. they like ellie.

joel is a bit...... iffy about dina. he likes her. he doesn't like some of the shit she does. your typical "you're a bad influence on my kid" dad who's completely unaware how much of a bad influence their kid are by themselves.

dina really grows on him after some time, though. he cares about her a lot. he even tries to play matchmaker one time. + he invites her for dinner, checks on her before patrol, etc.

dina will shiver ONCE and ellie will already be removing her jacket to shield her from the cold

dina is the kind of girlfriend that constantly seeks physical contact & she steals so so so many kisses at the most unexpected moments.. she's smug about ellie being So Into Her

i think i mentioned this before but dina LOVES being seen by ellie. and it's extremely easy to get ellie's attention. this is good, because she'd jump off a cliff to impress her.

dina is always touching ellie. she just.. she just stands there, holding her hand or touching her back, leaning her head on her shoulder.. even before their relationship reaches that "more than friends less than lovers" line.

by the way, that drives ellie crazy. the physical closeness, her laughing at all her jokes, her staring into her soul, the times when dina turns all silent & quiet.. she has to control herself so bad to not touch, to not do anything that would scare her away

dina is a bit of a troublemaker (shes just out there doing stupid shit teenagers do) & ellie is a Very Willing participant of whatever antic she's up to

also i'm writing a little something about this but. the sight of dina playing her guitar rly does something to ellie she LOVES it

their borrow each other's clothes so often they don't know which clothes belong to who anymore

like, they wear the same size. dina will wear pretty much anything she can get her hands on, while ellie has a Style to keep and is all about hoodies & flannels.

"we're dating." "hold on... i thought you two started dating each other seven months ago?"

dina's a little bit better than ellie at cooking but not by much. they prefer joel's cooking.

ellie will eat anything dina cooks for her, even when it tastes like sand and it's burnt underneath. she jokes about dina trying to poison her or smth like that, but she's really grateful & makes sure to let her know

adding to that.. dina is a doting gf. shes like. heres a cup of cold water on a hot day. dont get caught in the rain. have u eaten smth today. n she does all that in a rly playful, joking manner. like she's not serious about it at all, but she really does care.

she brings her homemade food when ellie's on watch duty.

btw, tommy is super supportive of ellie & is the first to find out about her crush on dina !! he elbows her when dina passes by & gets this annoying grin on his face when ellie stares at her too much

llie's not very verbal when it comes to showing how much she cares for dina. she likes doing things for her. things that make her life easier, like cleaning her gun, repairing a broken door handle and bringing her some food joel made.

their love language is very different but they make it work somehow. ellie loves her in the way dina likes to be loved and vice-versa.

dina does different voices for each character when she & ellie are reading together. she's TERRIBLE at it. ellie thinks it's adorable.

dina is Really Good at hiding her anxiety and she's not as confident as she may seem. she gets into this.... extra conversational mode + nervously laughs when she's not doing well. ellie doesn't buy into her shit.

after a day of manual labor and/or when ellie gets bruises (and she bruises rly easily), dina will rub cream over her skin & massage her back.. she's spoiled.

when it gets to the point where dina spends so much time in ellie's (and joel's) house she might as well move in, chaos reigns for a time.. they're both messy people n it drives joel nuts. ellie argues she "can't find anything" when her room is organized.

dina is a big baby in the rare occasions she gets sick. she hates being stuck in her house for too long & she makes sure to remind ellie just how much she hates it by being dramatic As Fuck

when someone stares at dina too much & is clearly interested on what they see, ellie makes sure to slip a hand around her waist and bring her closer.. you know. just to make a point.

dina got into a cat fight with kat ONCE like.. years before she even got together with ellie & she's still bitter abt it.

if someone were to tell dina she's jealous she would say she's NOT, but.... mm [doubt]. she gets extra clingy & passionate when she's jealous.

one time dina & jesse fought over the amount of attention she gave to ellie and how physically affectionate she was with her (especially when she was drunk, but not necessarily so)

when ellie goes on patrol without dina she's on the lookout for anything that could serve as a gift for her,, dina's favorite outfit is a dress + stockings ellie found !!

dina brings her flannels because she knows ellie loves them. she also brings her Hideous underwear because she knows ellie hates them.

dina's just easier to please. in more ways than one.

when dina tells ellie she lost Yet Another Hairtie she borrowed from her ellie's like: just you wait till i fucking Snap

SO steve n alex do factor in to my mcsm au but they weren’t the first humans (or humans at all for that matter but. thats another post)- those would indeed be the old builders (tho i also like to call them ‘moderators/mods’ bc, ha ha admins and mods... n i kind of like the idea of referring to them collectively as the moderation bc none of them have ANY impulse control except maybe soren and otto once every century or so.)

i think the admins took on (at the very least) three “proteges” among them and we meet most in game. i’ll be naming the groups by the time-honoured convention of ‘shared flawed mindset that bites them in the tushie’.

“WHO NEEDS HEALTHY COPING MECHANISMS WHEN YOU HAVE GODLIKE POWERS? IF I’M HAVING FUN EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD BE TOO!”: mevia, hadrian, cassie rose, with romeo’s favourite probably being hadrian. all obsessed with being extra, getting what they want, and being generally choleric. i mean you couldn’t just sit down and talk things out like a reasonable adult, you had to build a death mansion murder mystery complete with scooby doo style killersona? you couldn’t just keep your games fun and balanced, you HAD to turn it into a minecraft hunger games where no one is there by choice just so you can be amused by the struggles of people you dont see as people? you couldn’t just offer a good enough reward to entice jesse to come to your icy palace of doom willingly, you had to trash their town and then threaten their entire world?? guys, please go to therapy. please.

(at least, canon doesn’t- i have som hcs about why soren wouldn’t want to draw the admin’s attention to himself, n using a flint and steel would definitely do that- so in this case it was probably ivor’s crowbrain going “ooo, shiny artifact! might as well steal that too for when i’m done with this whole command block stuff.”)

FOR SCIENCE!!!”: harper, isa, (yeah i dont really know who could be the third one in canon- idt ellegaard was an old builder- so this ones a big ole ???), with harper being xara’s favourite. admittedly i’m not sure about isa, she’s only really here because of the eversource- but considering the only others who mention those are the old builders, well... wrt isa’s lack of old builder powers, i think that xara’s old builders liked to try doing things that had never been done before (or any visionary-aligned individuals, really,, hence the name ghklfdhglkd). for harper that was building pokemon red in minecraft pama, and for isa that was renouncing her old builder powers so as to live amongst her people like one of them (tho this was more of a social experiment).

finally, the purpose of the old builders (DELVING STRAIGHT INTO HC TERRITORY HERE)- in addition to having beings to interact with other than the villagers- were to be sort of microcosms of what romeo is/was to the mcsm universe as operator/op, but for individual worlds (bc the admins aren’t going to be in all of them at once, even if they can inhabit multiple bodies). the role of the operator is to be the creator and catalyst, to keep the universe/server running, to introduce new factors into it so that it can grow and become something better than it was before. (this also means that romeo literally cannot die/be killed, bc the universe is dependent on his existence.)

it’s not that worlds can’t take care of themselves, but in the event of potentially catastrophic threats emerging, it’d be good to have someone with admin powers lite to step in and stop things before things escalated n potentially spread to other worlds- tho only as a very very very last resort, bc otherwise how are u gonna farm champions?

anyhow this post is getting. pretty loNG so, on a last note- my stance on canon lore (esp mcsm lore, or what little of it there is) is that they’re more guidelines than actual rules so i’ll admit some of my au (new game +) does just yeet canon, tho i tried to keep the absolute wildest shit out of this post. again, i’d be SUPER interested in hearing more about your own takes on the lore/plot/literally any aspect of this game?!?!?! my hyperfixation level has been at 418% for the past few months and it hasnt gone down and i am. s o thirsty for content... i hoPE IT WASN’T PRESUMPTUOUS OF ME TO MAKE THIS POST N ALSO THAT UR HAVING A GOOD DAY/NIGHT/PERIOD OF THE 24-HOUR CYCLE WE BASE OUR LIVES UPON AAAAAAA

homestuck epilogues stuff

thoughts about the homestuck epilogues, as in, spoilers and theories and things ive noticed by reading it over twice and talking with friend @kravicle while they were reading

this is just a list of theories me and krav came up with ok. also stuff u might not pick up in only one read? we’re just spitballing here

MEAT AND CANDY TEREZI ARE PROBABLY ONE AND THE SAME

> just didnt see proof they weren't the same lmao, we only get john+terezi's messages from both timelines and she could have gotten messages from both meat!john and candy!john

this man lives for fighting. He probably wants you to fight him. I do not recommend you fight him. He may have absolutely no formal training, but thats not gonna stop him from hitting you as hard as he can. this boi has a 1 hit ko. he is fully prepared to kick your ass and laugh as he does it

5/10 its your funeral, but he probably started it

Toni

The guy is like 1000 years old and Has Seen Some Shit. his history has plenty of dark parts and he’d probably understand if you did try to fight him. But he’s such a soft, sweet guy now and he’s doing his best, just trying to spread some happy vibes and tend to his garden. He probably wont even fight back if he thinks he deserves it

3/10 but you’ll break my heart (also miguel might come and kick ur ass for it)

Josie

Yeah, Josie is a trained fighter, but she’s such a soft soul. She’s just trying to provide for her family despite everything that scares her. Why would you fight her? She’ll probably start crying and then what are you going to do? Fight a woman while she sobs?

0/10 Don’t fight her unless you’re a monster (miguel will definitely kick ur ass for it)

Hermes

I mean you could. He probably deserves it, like most of the Isu he’s not very pro-human. But please consider that he’s like 8 ft tall, fast, and has probably been training for a couple centuries.

Koller

You look at him and see an edgy punk twink who hasn’t slept in days and lives off of take out, he might be on drugs. So you think “Yeah I could probably take him” and honestly? Yeah you probably could. Hes got plenty of augs, but he’s still not a fighter. He has an exposed cranial aug and if you hit it you might actually kill him

2/10 he’s anxious enough already pls dont make it worse

Shay

He might kill you, he might not. Its a toss up. You could fight him, but he was trained as an assassin and doesnt exactly fight fair. Is guaranteed to have at least one hidden blade. If you mention lisbon you might be able to get an advantage bc he still feels incredibly guilty about that

4/10 probs not ur best idea

Sylas

It is completely understandable if you want to fight him. He is trying to overthrow a government afterall. He’s also not exactly friendly if ur a noble or not a mage. If you dont have magic he cant borrow ur skills so that will give you an advantage

4/10 if ur a mage 7/10 if ur not. he spent 15 years in jail and managed to come out oddly buff so who knows what else he can do

Like Miguel, Vi also lives for fighting. She won’t kill you so that helps ur odds. You might be able to convince her to fight without the gauntlets and that will help you even more. She still probably kick ur ass but at least you have a chance at that point

Xayah and Rakan

Are you human? Yes? Xayah hates you, and will probs try to kill you if you start a fight. Rakan will join her bc he loves her. You dont get to fight to just one and they have some incredible synergy. Rakan is distracting and Xayah has feather daggers

Yusuf Tazim

Sure he looks and acts kinda goofy, but he is a trained master assassin. He will kill you. He might feel bad about it later, but he is fully capable of killing you.

2/10 probs shouldnt

Scorpion/Hanzo Hasashi

This man has died multiple times. He has lost his family, He is a part time undead revenant that can drag you into MK hell. He has nothing left to lose, and his honor will make him fight you with everything hes got

1/10 don’t even try

Sub Zero/Kuai Liang

Hes a pretty chill dude but he was raised to be an assassin. Was also a cyborg for awhile. Also has ice powers so if he doesnt think ur worth his time he might just freeze you. He’s also a teacher tho so he might just critique ur fight stance

5/10 either you die in some rly gross, gory way or he gives you some good feedback

Smoke/Tomas Vrbada

Im not sure what about his look would make you think you could fight him. Like boi has smoke just around him. Is it the long hair? Is that what makes you think you could take him? Like Sub-Zero, hes been raised to be an assassin so he is fully prepared to kill you. can also use smoke powers to teleport or to give you a gory end

3/10 he might boil you alive but thats the risk you’ll have to take

Pls dont he’s been through enough. Like come on my guy, he spent 28+ years separated from his daughter just let him stay with her and dont hurt him anymore. Please im begging you. Also he may or may not have magic besides portals

As Pertaining to Twin Flames

Blah blah blah, letting go, blah blah, I get it. I also recently heard an important lesson about work. Sometimes we find ourselves fighting and fighting for the same thing even if it’s hard Because it was so hard. Giving up would mean all that time and effort would amount to nothing, right? Nah, all that work was also inner work. You’ve done “Work” “Effort” and that energy spent is not lost, it’s been used to strengthen yourself. So that relationship you’ve had to work So hard on that just isn’t working out, is not lost time. It was necessary.

I’m letting go of this guy because I essentially don’t have a choice. It’s the obvious choice to let him go. I could say it was because I projected an idea of who he was onto him, because tarot lead me to believe he’s the one so that I could stand up for myself and say, that’s cool but I don’t really need it, physically 3-D speaking. Because we’re not ready, because he isn’t the one, blah blah blah.

Doesn’t matter why. Can’t read the future. Not like that. Time doesn’t work like that. Whatever. Anyway, with all this back and forth of me being obsessed, not obsessed, annoyed, in love, not in love, This walk away will be significant. I wanted to make a few posts about it because he played a big part in my spiritual awakening.

The summer of 2018, I was paying attention to signs as I had been all my life. I was working out at the gym listening to music when I got a message. A song came on called Love is Blue. The melody reminded me of another song called Instrumental Incident. I re-listen to both of them and find that neither have similar melodies. I don’t know why my brain connected them. When something feels important to me, I hold onto that in my memory. Love is Blue, so I kept my eyes peeled for blue.

I was also under the impression I was going to come to face to face with something soon. I was going to study abroad and I just had this image I was going to come face to face with a giant snake. Metaphorically. Don’t know, just had a vision about it. Also had a dream a few days before leaving about being on a train with a bunch of friends and entering a land that had giant snake statues. Like the ones in Harry Potter 2. In the basilisk chamber.

Sep 2018- June 2019

I studied abroad in England. Lived in a flat with 13 other people. 14 people, two showers, two fridges. We miraculously made it work and there was little to no drama between us all. Whenever there was it was drunken stupidity and misunderstandings. As a person with little friends and lots of social anxiety, being able to get totally wasted and bond with so many people who get along was basically like dying and going to heaven. And on day three one of the guys I lived with I found made me extremely nervous to talk to and couldn’t shake the way he looked at me. Striking blue eyes. He also mentioned snakes on that first night. Anyway, I couldn’t shake the way he talked to me, to others, just talked. The way he’d be so kind and go out of his way to do a small favor. The way he’d offer to let me borrow a pair of his earrings because I forgot mine. The way he offered the shirt off his back so I could finish a look. The way he went all out and dressed up for a funeral we had for a caterpillar and read my poem I made for it. The way he made witty comments. Would laugh at my comments.

I had dreams. Strange dreams. Not really romantic ones. There would be moments. Feelings. Things I hadn’t had with other people before. The kind of feelings where a split moment I felt like he was so close, like I could just be comfortable with being physically close to him. Then other times he’d just feel distant. Not emotionally, not physically, just far away. That feeling or vibe of closeness would feel far away. Writing about this is difficult, I just had never felt that way before and it hurts to write about. I’m not sure why this loss hurts. I never had him. Physically. Emotionally.

Honestly if he had been paying attention he’d see by how I acted how I felt. The gifts, the stuttering, the awkwardness. Few months pass and finally when I stood in front of him and confessed my feelings he told me he never knew. Maybe he was lying. Of course, he was on his way to a date that very moment. Timing was hilariously off. I do remembering him saying “That’s hilarious” when he realized how I finally confess my feelings as he’s on his way to a date. Perhaps an asshole-ish thing to say, but I agreed. It was hilarious. It was like this all the time. Just missing each other in the halls, I’d come back as he’s leaving, visa versa. All. The. Time.

The universe would not let it happen. But I was so alive that year. I set up events and group activities hoping he’d finally have time to join or if things would align to let him join us. Either by his own will or busy schedule, he would never. I’d give up. Then try again. Poems, confession letters, romantic ideas consumed me. Kept me alive. I made him a music playlist before winter break, for valentines day I gave him a rose and a poem, on his birthday a regrettably risky message in his birthday card, drunk text. All of them as real, friendly, honest, and respectful to his boundaries as possible. I was always very careful, acted chill around him Too chill to avoid embarrassment.

These emotions felt So strong to me that I was terrified of scaring him. He’s bigger and stronger than me, but I was so afraid of him thinking I’m a creep. I admitted this to him in that drunk text. All of his responses were similar to all of my offerings. “Thank you so much, this is so amazing and I’m flattered, but I am sort of with someone/dont feel the same way. This isn’t creepy at all so don’t worry.”

Then when we see each other in person he acts as though nothing happened. I should’ve given up but it’s hard to get over someone you hear every day in the hallway outside your door. My friends eventually hated him for not hanging out with us and for being the reason I hurt so much. (Really it was my self worth issues)

So much happened that year. So much crazy shit. I want to write a book about it. Going to. Eventually. I sent him, and everyone, off by writing everyone a letter. His was the longest. Said thank you for essentially existing, apologizing for myself again, talked about missed opportunities, threw in some nice compliments. He actually replied to it with a “That’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said” followed by a “Missed opportunities maybe, who knows, good luck with life” kind of message. The end of his message gave a possible nod to one of my dreams. Maybe I imagined it.

And that was it.

Long Post on How Lena being ‘evil’ after the reveal would be a disservice to her entire character arc.

Extract from an interview with Jon Cyer:

"If Lex does end up revealing the truth about Supergirl to Lena, it could have devastating impact. Kara herself attempted to reveal the truth to Lena but stopped as it became clear that the revelation would be extremely damaging to Lena after all of the lies and manipulations she's endured thanks to Lex. It's the kind of damage that would definitely fall under the label of "evil" and could even set up a major conflict for Supergirl next season."

What even is this statement? The last part doesn't even make sense:

"It's the kind of damage that would definitely fall under the label of "evil" and could even set up a major conflict for Supergirl next season."

Damage isnt evil, damage is just damage. It's not like you can have good damage. So Lena learning Kara is Supergirl would inflict damage and then she falls under the label of 'evil'? Completely destroying her as a character. This just says that Lena will immediately become evil (such a strong word) as soon as she learns Kara is Supergirl.

I'm sorry ... But what the actual f**k? So they're just going to go down the same road that Game of Thrones went with Dany in the last episode?

"f**k you all I'm pissed off and I'm going to kill every man, woman and child because I can".

Supergirl writers like to borrow heavily from from Smallville. Well the Lex Luthor of Smallville wasnt immediately evil. Lex was actually a good guy at the start, he was a play boy but he wasnt really so bad. He did however have some moral grey areas. Lex was best friends with Clark, but from day one he was curious about how he managed to survive going off the bridge and the damage done to his car and no damage done to Clark. But Lex didnt immediately go after Clark, he genuinely loved and cared about him almost like a brother. It was Clark that kept going out of his way to keep lying to an overly curious Lex who gave him more than one opportunity to come clean to him. Lex was driven crazy because he knew there was something up with Clark but Clark kept acting like Lex was delusional. Lex was used and abused by his father who favored Clark from the moment he met him. But Lex did a lot of good things in the earlier series, he was ultimately always put down due to his name though. Visions of him in a white suit with blood rain just meant that no matter what Lex did his destiny was to be bad and thats how he would then be treated which ironically is what drove those visions to come true.

So are they just going to recycle this with Lena? The only differences being that Lena hasnt done any evil things and she hasnt been trying to expose Kara because she's oblivious?

Lena has literally done NOTHING but help Supergirl, National City and help save the world several times since she first appeared. Lena isn't perfect, she has a dark side when pushed to her limit, she went to shoot Edge because he was poisoning children. She even told Kara she went and did this. It wasn't a secret.

Lena is pro gun? Doesn't make her evil, it's not like people aren't trying to kill her every 5 minutes and soldier or not Alex is way to gun happy. Alex has also basically been an alcoholic who is in charge of firearms since she was first introduced.

Lena killed Adam? Lena made a mistake, one that is haunting her. She didn't hold a gun to Adams head and pull the trigger cackling like a maniac. I’ve said it once and ill say it again, if Lena is guilty of ‘murdering’ Adam then Jonn is 100% guilty of murdering Manchester Black, a man he had already disarmed and killed purely because Manchester taunted him and and Jonn got pissed off. Even Kara looked shocked when she asked where Manchester was, but then immediately she was fine with it and was like ‘dont worry, one murder doesn't mean you cant be a man of peace’.

The biggest problem with Lena ‘turning evil’ after learning Kara is Supergirl is that that would would imply that Lena being a good person has been entirely dependent on her relationships with both Kara and Supergirl! What the hell? I mean i love Kara but she isnt a freaking God!! Lena’s personality has never been dependent on anyone but herself. Lena was a good person long before she ever set eyes on Kara or Supergirl. Lena was the one that dropped Lex in it remember? Why the hell would they reduce Lena from a complex character to a one dimensional character whose heroic and good personality was entirely dependent on her relationship with Kara/Supergirl?

That is exactly what they did to Kara in season 3, she stopped being ‘Kara Danvers’ the moment Mon El left because even though she had a life, job, a human family and friends and was Kara Danvers long before he showed up she suddenly couldn't be that person anymore because her boyfriend wasn't around? Her entire character was reduced to her being dependent solely on him? That’s not Mon El hate by the way, its hate for the writers.

It would be ridiculous for Lena to instantly forgive Kara for lying her to. To be honest i would be more disappointed in Lena if she was absolutely OK with all of this rather than letting Kara know she’s royally f**ked up! Kara its true doesn't owe her identity to anyone, God even Lena probably would have questioned her if she had instantly revealed herself to her. But the problem is that Kara knows she can trust Lena, she has known this for years. Kara has also revealed her secret to people she has known for less time than she has known Lena and to people she barely knows at all (Nia). Yes she told Nia out of solidarity but Kara has had way more solidarity moments with Lena than she had with Nia. Plus Kara didn't really know Nia at all, Nia could have been playing her the whole time. Lena on the other hand is her best friend and has helped save the world, worked with the DEO and saved Supergirls life and ass many times over.

Kara let the secret go on for far to long, in addition she told other people. Kara used the excuse that it was to keep Lena safe because her enemies would go after Lena. But that is just crap because Lena already has her own enemies, she deals with those enemies. Plus Kara never seemed to care that her enemies could have gone after Winn, James, Nia etc. It was a decent excuse in the beginning but then it became invalid the longer its gone on. Lena knowing Kara is supergirl would probably make her much safer in retrospect, Lena could have just called Kara or been given a fancy watch like a certain someone. The worst part though is that Kara has known since season 2 that Lillian Luthor knows who she is, she also knows that Lex Luthor knows who she is and Lena could have been told by them at any point. Lillian has had years to tell her and could of done. Kara has sat back and just hoped the Luthors wont out her? That is probably the worst story line Kara has EVER had! Kara may not want to hurt Lena with the truth but it would hurt way more coming form Lex!! Kara will reep what she sows here.

On top of this Kara hasnt just been pretending to be two different people to Lena, she has been acting like Jekell and Hyde. Lena and Supergirl have come to an understanding over the whole Reign/Kryptonite issue, but Lena only thinks she's come to an understanding with Supergirl. Lena doesnt know that it was actually her best friend treating her like garbage and with hostility the whole time, then coming back to her as Kara and being all besties again. THAT RIGHT THERE is where the betrayal lies. It isnt that Kara kept being Supergirl a secret from her, its that Kara betrayed her trust as Supergirl and was horrible to her. Lena had Kryptonite purely to help try and save Sam, but Supergirl immediately took it all personally not really giving a second thought to Sam at all. She just assumed that Lena was out to get her and then she started to try and pull rank on Lena, but Supergirl was left gob smacked because low and behold Lena Luthor wasn't beholden to the Girl of Steel like Supergirl expected her to be. Supergirl was given a harsh lesson in where she actually stands in the authority department.

To make it even worse Supergirl enlisted Lena’s then boyfriend to betray her trust and break into her company to spy on her to check she wasnt a liar. James actually does this without to much hesitation, he even enlists Winn’s help. That right there is four betrayals against Lena, where she only assumes it was the one. Lena forgave James, (i dont know why, he still broke into L Corp, he only grew a conscience at the very last second) and holds Supergirl responsible. Lena only thinks it was Supergirl who used her boyfriend against her. Lena will soon find out however that it wasnt just Supergirl, it was her best friend, her boyfriend and even Winn her other friend who all betrayed her. Lena is going to learn that all of the above was actually her the work of her best friend the entire time, then that best friend would come back to her and listen to her mention these betrayals.

Back to James, James had absolutely no reason to throw Supergirl under the bus. He just ‘had to be honest with Lena’ ? How about you dont break into her personal property and betray her trust in the first place? James knew for a fact that Supergirl and Lena were having a beef, he knew full well that if Lena knew what Supergirl had asked him to do she would be even more hurt and angry at Supergirl but he did it anyway. This is exactly what happened because Lena told Kara that Supergirl had used the people she cares about against her and she can never trust her again. At least Kara had the good sense to look guilty. But the other side to this is that once Lena finds out that James knew it was actually ‘Kara’ that betrayed her she will be even more hurt. She will have been doubly betrayed by both Kara and James!

Kara:

1. Treated her crap as Supergirl

2. Enlisted Lena’s boyfriend to betray her

James:

1. Actually did break into L Corp betraying Lena, for some bizarre reason was forgiven. Then he threw Supergirl under the bus to gain Lena’s trust without a thought to the lasting damage it would have.

2. James actually knew the whole time it was Kara being an ass to Lena and it was Kara who was asking James to betray Lena. James then put the last nail in the coffin for Supergirl and Lena’s friendship, but at the same time allowed Lena to continue believing that Kara wasn't the one that betrayed her. James allowed Lena to employ/confide in and be around the very person she declared she could no longer trust. James even enlisted Winn to help betray Lena, Winn being one of Lena’s friends.

If Kara suffers in the aftermath, (which she will) then i want James to suffer the consequences of that betrayal as well. To those that would say ‘Lena is a liar and keeps secrets’ well Lena’s secrets have never directly had anything to do with the Superfriends, she doesn't keep them to hurt anyone, or tell them to hurt anyone. Lena doesn't have to tell Supergirl everything she is doing because Supergirl isnt her boss, she didn't have to tell James everything but she did actually reveal a lot to him. Lena actually told everyone about her super humans idea but they all dismissed it immediately, Lena doesn't have to stop though because some people dont approve.

So to have Lena go bad after spending all of the time fighting Lex and Lillian, saving the alien population from genocide, saving the city from Daxamites, saving Supergirls life more than once, coming to work with the DEO even when she has beef with Supergirl, doing her best to try and help save Reign, manufacturing Harun El to make sure that Argo City never dies, begging Supergirl to let her die so she can save the people from the chemical on that plane, agreeing to marry Mon El to save a children's hospital, buying Cat Co to keep the free press free? Suddenly all that is erased because she is lied to by her best friend? NO! If lies and deceit were enough to send Lena over the edge it would have already happened, she can survive multiple betrayals and assassination attempts from her family, the people of National City making her a pariah, Rhea betraying her, Alana betraying her, Eve betraying her? Jack's death? But the icing on the cake that makes her snap is Kara betraying her? NO! What a disservice to Lena as a character! It would also cancel out the conversations she had with Sam when she was telling her she knew she was a good person no matter what and all the conversations she’s recently had with Brainy about having emotions.

Plus to make Lena, who has fought the Luthors at every turn to suddenly snap and say ‘f**k it im going to complete Lex’s life work’ is insanity.

Ultimately, the social lesson of the day here is if your family is s**t then you are s**t. No kids dont bother trying to be good people, you are lost causes. We dont care that you became a paramedic, or a fire fighter, or a soldier, or a surgeon or anything. You ARE crap and you will always be crap! The lesson is ‘never try’. Everyone else on this show has had trauma and betrayal in their lives but they still get to be heroes? Jonn? Alex? Kara? Winn? All had some trauma or family issues but nope they arent allowed to be bad guys. If having a bad family makes you bad then Alex should be because of her dad, Winn should be because of his dad and Kara absolutely should be because of her parents and her aunt and uncle.

The only thing that would make sense after the reveal is Lena having nothing at all to do with Kara, probably selling Cat Co and cutting pretty much every one of the Superfriends from her life. Where would they go from there with her? Well Lena has no reason to turn her attentions to hurting them or the people of National City. She doesn't stop being who she is due to betrayal. So maybe Lena finds a way to be a hero on her own refusing to help Supergirl anymore. I still 100% believe though that if Kara was hurt Lena would come and help no matter what, because that has always been who she is and her good nature and sanity has NEVER been dependent on Kara. Kara is not the centre of everyone universe.
