mateeee prussia/france is such a good ship, they actually have so much potential

THEY'RE SUCH A GOOD SHIP. like Prussia in his glory days was more or less half-French, what with Frederick II's whole Francophile thing.

and they're great in a Middle Ages setting too? the Teutonic Knights are basically formed to help the French Kingdom of Jerusalem from getting their asses kicked (note: did not work) and to provide pilgrims with hospitals, so imo you have Gilbert's main job from the start being to keep Francis alive and that's just? Something he quietly continues doing throughout history?

And Prussia and France have had a weird history, shoutout to Napoleon and Bismarck for that. imo if Francis respects anyone, it'd be Arthur and Gilbert. in an antagonistic way maybe, but still respect.

Loved your pruk headcanon 💖 can you do number 14 for them? How do their personalities compliment each other/how to they clash?

Complement:

-They're both talkative, expressive people who need a lot of down time.

-they both appreciate fairy tales

-drinking buddies

-can both be very strict and responsible types, but will turn around and act like delinquents

-both can be crude, but have gentlemanly sides

-both play instruments (E- bass guitar, P- flute)

-both of them like sewing

-both attract animals (E- rabbits, P - birds)

-both have pets (E- cat, P- dogs)

-Arthur is "the king of losing things", so having the super organised and neat Gil around can help him keep track of things

-Arthur is eager to make food for him, while Gil was willing to eat it and didn't ever say anything bad about it. In fact, he MAY have even complimented it, though the structure of the Drama CD makes it hard to tell who exactly he was talking to.

-similar music tastes

Clash:

-unfortunately, Gil can go overboard with his cleaning, so if Arthur loses something or owns something old and tattered, Gil might just throw it away

-both are super stubborn

-both are extremely prideful

-Gil can't eat food with faces, and Arthur would bite something with a face right in front of him because he thinks it's funny

-former pirate, former priest

-if they're trying to read a book, Gil will sneeze and get completely distracted, which might frustrate Arthur

-neither like to admit when they're lonely

-Arthur is much more of a pervert while Gil is likely a lot more easily flustered by that sort of thing. Arthur thinks it's cute, which leads to plenty of teasing for poor Gil to put up with.

-Both love singing, but Gilbert's voice is...an acquired taste. This makes listening to him sing a difficult experience at first, though eventually it grows on Arthur.

so I was doing a bit of reading for research last night and I came across this incredible bit of information: in the late 1300s it was a bit of a fad for English kings (and other cashed up nobles) to visit the Teutonic Knights and spend a shitload of money, and the Knights absolutely encouraged this “tourism”

Which is to say: Arthur has repeatedly been Gil’s sugar daddy throughout history, as it turns out
