Going to Copenhagen with The Man this summer, any private room hostel recommendations? We’re leaning towards a private two sleeper capsule at The Downtown Hostel 🤞

Vang Vieng: Jewel Blue Lagoons
Vang Vieng.
It has been awhile since I last posted and I’ve decided to revive this sleeping virtual space once again since life got in the way many moons ago.
A quick search on google shows you blue lagoons, party scenes, countryside, tubing and varies exhilarating activities. These depictions were accurately true. Years ago, I was still a young, carefree, wild, risky; life of a party…

Why are hostels so expensive in London??? I’m planning on visiting friends in Europe and I would fly into London to get there so I figured hey maybe I could stay a couple days there. But I can’t find any that are less than like 120$ a night. When at a hostel in Florence my friend and I only paid like 40€ each. London why are you like this??? Both of these are the same time of year too so it’s not even a peak season vs shoulder season thing.

Hostels - yay or nay?
During my time in Chile in 2017, I exclusively stayed in Hostels. I had great experiences, including 2 of which had private terraces. I enjoyed looking out at the Pacific ocean in La Serena and the other in San Pedro de Atacama I enjoyed the terrace watching the milky way. I will definitely be using them in Europe in the fall. What have been your experiences? Have you stayed Iin hostels? Was it a…

Loud Roommates:
If I could describe living in a hostel, it was a culture shock and uncomfortable. All my life I have been living with my mother and now that I was moving out, albeit temporarily, I still felt a sense of insecurity inside of me. My situation was only made worse when I had to live with my roommates whom I won’t mention by name for obvious reasons. Now don’t get me wrong, they’re not bad people by any means. Far from it actually. They are really friendly and are a lot of fun to talk to. However, I cannot cope with their life style, especially since we shared a very different way of living. I am in the Teaching English as Second Language course (TESL) and they are taking sports course. I prefer to live in a very relax, calm, and quiet environment which the only noise are sounds coming from my phone. Let me tell you, they were anything but calm or quiet. They were really active and they talked a lot, sometimes the neighboring students would come over and the noise just got louder. As an introvert, I have some difficulty in adapting in this type of environment. But, at least I “tried” to embrace this type of living. In conclusion, living in a hostel at least from my experience, isn’t all that it’s cut out to be. I think I would’ve been more enthusiastic about living in a hostel if I had a more suitable environment.
