im working on a compilation of horror movie themed ads because i think its an interesting commercial subgenre (to be clear, not commercials for horror movies, but commercials that utilize horror movie tropes or references when advertising other stuff) and i made a playlist of what ive found so far; please reblog with any you might find because i think its a cool little subject. almost all the ones i have so far are chainsaw related but they dont have to be. feel free to share if you want because as i said i think this is a cool thing to explore & i like hearing/talking about weird or interesting commercials. OH and psas can also be included but im general looking for Specifically horror movie related, not necessarily just scary (basically all the ones currently in the playlist are supposed to be funny anyway)

Random opinion: Don't show fucking horror ads unless I am watching horror related content and even then don't show fucking horror ads.

Why do I have to be in the middle of watching some cute game about rabbits and bunnies just to have fricken Samara from the Ring pop up and convince me that those innocent bunnies will jump out of the screen, grow several sets of teeth, become 8ft tall, and then eat my soul? That isn't a thing that should be happening.

I am a coward. I am not watching this movie no matter how many times it interrupts my cute bunny game. I am not the target audience. Why do I have to suffer like this??

Just found out about the tiktok Goncharov rip off and honestly the thing that bothers me the most is that it’s called Zepotha. Like who would name an obscure 80’s slasher film like that one reddit cockroach wife and not something like “Clown Castle Massacre” like do these people know how slashers work??? Do you hate fun??
