saying that reiner adores evenings with you the most is an understatement.

he adores the evenings when you both do two separate things right before going to sleep - him reading one chapter of a book or an article in a newspaper, you mending a piece of clothing that you, or him, unintentionally have torn. the lights are dim, your bodies separated, but somehow still connected. knowing that in every second, he can reach out for your hand and you will squeeze back without hesitation, that he can say your name whenever and you will always reply - gives him the biggest comfort. it’s so simple, but this feeling of certainty - that you are with him right now and you’re ready to be with him forever - that’s what makes these evenings meaningful.

reiner obviously adores the evenings when he gets to make love to you too. oh, to feel your warm hands sliding down his back, your nails unconsciously digging into his bicep, your quickened breath on his mouth. this closeness is divine, and reaching his satisfaction is nice, but it’s the connection of your hearts that matters to him the most. he adores the way your bodies are melting together, how he wouldn’t know which one of the intertwined hands is his since it’s been soaked in your warmth for a long time now. how he gets to kiss your flushed face and caress your skin the way only he can, how he gets to move without a rush and listen to your heavenly moans, feeling you around him, creating his heaven on earth. evenings turn into nights when you both are rolling under the bedsheets repeatedly, hoping the sun never rises so you can remember each other’s touch forever.

but the evenings reiner adores the most are when you both lay down facing each other, your fingers playing with his while you both get to talk about your days, nights, feelings and insecurities. the lights are off, thinking you would fall asleep immediately, but one of the hearts, or quite often both, is too heavy to end the day with slumber yet, having a need to be heard. reiner’s eyes are squinting to see your face in the dark, even though he doesn’t need that to feel you wholly. talking about his fears, things he could have done better and plans for the future. him voicing out thoughts varying from the most simple, humanlike ones, to the ones that touch the deepest parts of his soul, leaving him the most vulnerable. you don’t laugh at him. you don’t scream at him because of his mistakes. you listen, appreciating his every word, and when it’s your turn to talk, he will do the same for you. that’s when he feels he gets to touch your soul the most, your true core, and he can’t help but let you into his too, right in this pitch black bedroom, your hand tightly in his.

no matter how meaningless you think these evenings are, reiner sees them, appreciates them and is thankful for them forever. he’s sure he doesn’t deserve to experience the things you make him feel, but he’s sure he couldn’t live without them anymore either.
