Dazai, Iceman, and Ayatsuji with an S/O who has a pet kitty

Dazai:

-Despite Dazai being quite an energetic drama queen, I have a feeling that he'd be rather chill with your cat

-We all know that he has a special connection to a rather special cat (Natsume), so in the first few times he was alone with your cat, he definitely tried to find out if it was actually an ability user in disguise. And by that, I mean poking it a few times to see if his nullification ability could make it revert back to it's human form (spoiler: it did not)

-But suspicions aside, Dazai loves your pet kitty! When he comes home after a tiring day of work at the Armed Detective Agency, simply stroking your cat's soft fur is enough to temporarily distract his mind from everything. He might even hug the cat to his chest as he lies down on the couch, and prompt you to take a photo since he 'looks more handsome at that angle' Dark Era anime reference owuashaah

-If your cat doesn't warm up to other people easily, then you're in for a treat. Dazai would be chasing after the cat with sardines and toys and everything cats supposedly like to try and win it's affection and trust, while fake crying to you that your pet 'hates him'. He will even try meowing at your cat, and his meows are so surprisingly accurate that you sometimes think he's a cat in disguise

-Over time, your cat decides to finally trust Dazai, and he is overjoyed when it happens. Your beloved will become 10x more affectionate with the feline, and it is now a common occurrence where he hugs it and proclaims how adorable or beautiful it is; often sneaking in a compliment that it was almost as beautiful as it's owner, which is you :)

-Dazai definitely would try to teach your pet kitty some tricks to impress you. Some of the tricks he tries to teach it concerns you since 'no cat would need that knowledge', but he still insists on going forward with the training, since it 'might be useful someday'. You gave up trying to convince him, and you were glad that you did, because now you have one of the smartest and trick-y cats in all of Yokohama. Yay! Though you weren't too impressed when Dazai taught the kitty to fetch things for him... but you trusted his judgement

-He certainly loves having the cat perch on his shoulders while he does his paperwork at home (for once lmao), since I headcanon he likes the silky texture of your cat's fur against his cheek as he writes. Sometimes, when he takes a mini break, or when he's just admiring the lovely Yokohama scenery outside the window, Dazai would pet the cat's head, who in turn nuzzles into his palm

-On days where you're busy, he'll be more than happy to look after your cat for you! Even though he might purposefully mess things up just for laughs, Dazai will actually be more serious when it comes pet-sitting. He wouldn't want to let you down, and ensures that all care your cat receives will be top tier- including baths. You had never seen as many expensive cat shampoos than ever before in your life, and by the end of the entire ordeal your cat will be ✨immaculate✨. Dazai might even joke about starting to use cat shampoo too please don't let him use it

-Uses your cat as an excuse to slack off from work sometimes. Kunikida almost had a meltdown when he can't find Dazai in the usual places, only for Dazai to tell him through the phone 'But I just had to look after my lovely Y/N's cat!~ Or else they'll be quite sad that I'm not bonding enough with our precious child! u.u' #saveKunikidafromDazai'santics

-He would definitely take some videos of your cat doing tricks, and show them to Atsushi, asking him if he could do those tricks but in his tiger form. The poor boy is startled and is going all 'but I can't control my full tiger form!'; it does not help how Dazai says that his nullification ability could turn Atsushi back to normal if things were to go out of control. Fortunately Kunikida stepped in and reminded Dazai to get back to work

-Fun fact: crab meat can be a good treat for cats as it is rich in protein. And we know that our bandaged detective loves to eat crab meat too. So imagine if Dazai opens a tin of canned crab, about to eat it- only to see your cat sitting down at his feet, giving him the cute pleading Puss in Boots eyes as it stares at the crab meat held between his chopsticks. Sometimes, your lover would (begrudgingly) give the kitty his precious crab that was initially meant for himself to savour, but other times he'll just finish the entire can of crab meat while holding a staring contest with your cat as if daring it to do something

-If you wanted to get another cat, Dazai isn't opposed. The more the merrier, and he knows better than anyone else the feeling of loneliness. Be prepared for him to splurge a lot more money on cat products though; and don't even ask where the money came from /j

Iceman:

-Chill assassin dude doesn't show too many outward reactions with your cat, but don't worry since he thinks it's cute and would definitely take good care of it if you asked him to

-Oftentimes, you'd see them next to each other on the couch, with the cat on his shoulders or on his lap. Iceman will sometimes pet it, and despite his frighteningly cold demeanour most of the time, he's actually quite gentle when it comes to your pet

-Because your man himself is so calm and laid-back, he can make even the most energetic of cats be as tranquil as a lake. This definitely helps when you're trying to chase your cat down to give it a bath, because they run fast

-Iceman also stops smoking as often when he learns that cats dislike the smell of cigarette smoke. Keep in mind that he won't fully quit since it's difficult to do so, but he'll definitely be mindful about it and only smoke when he's certain that the lingering smell on his body wouldn't affect your cat

-He also plays music for your cat sometimes! It's scientifically proven that cats tend to like soft classical music, and luckily your partner has quite the collection of records that he'd put on for you, him, and your cat to listen to. It also calms you down after a stressful day, and it sets the perfect mood for your lover to embrace you in his arms

-When feeding your cat, Iceman sometimes leaves some tuna or sardines on top of it's food so that it would add some flavour to the kibble. He somehow always finds the freshest and best quality fish for his favourite feline, and don't worry about the cost since the Mafia pays quite a bit

-Is also the type of guy to buy plush and wicker cat trees for your cat to climb and jump on and off it. If it breaks, don't concern yourself with buying a new one because Iceman is actually quite good with his hands. In just a few minutes, he'd have fixed the cat tree up and made it look as good as new

-Sometimes, when he's had a tiring day, Iceman would cuddle you on the couch while your cat jumps onto your laps- and it's the cutest thing ever with all three of you sharing a nice big hug to wind down and relax

-If your cat is a rather mischievous one with dozens of antics, you can catch Iceman smiling a soft smile as he watches the cat being up to no good again. He'll always intervene and stop it if things were about to go south, but he does enjoy having a good chuckle at it's funny shenanigans

-Like Dazai, Iceman wouldn't mind if you wanted to get more cats, since he's quite easy-going with whatever you choose to do. And the fact that you have a soft spot for cats makes him soft for you too ❤

Ayatsuji:

-Now unlike Dazai and Iceman, Ayatsuji actually has cats too! And he's glad that you have experience in taking care of cats since it would make life much easier for him

-He definitely would introduce his cats to yours. They're actually quite well-behaved, and soon enough you'd have three gorgeous felines clambering all over Ayatsuji's office and being adorable menaces to anyone who visits the room. It brightens Tsujimura's day, but she'd never admit it

-Ayatsuji is a genius, which means that he most likely will also teach your cat some tricks. Such as sitting down, coming back when called, and many more! Even though he rarely would have time to play with your cats (yes his cats are your cats too now), he'd still try to feed them and pet them whenever he could

-Don't worry about your pet making a mess in his office, because your paramour will train it to be civil and docile, which can prevent many incidents from happening. Your cat does find some of the western furniture in there to be fun places to climb and leap onto, but it never damages anything with it's claws, which is what you're thankful for since you don't want a disappointed Ango on your heels

-Despite not being an affectionate person, Ayatsuji actually likes to pet your cat! It gives him a sense of relief and calmness, since he prefers to be alone with cats than with humans (you're the exception). If you ask him to, he'll definitely brush your cat's coat everyday; and he is so focused and detailed while doing it that it makes you think the cat was his own child (in some way it is hehe)

-He also likes the cat's company when he's looking over cases in his office. Ayatsuji doesn't bring your cat to crime scenes since he doesn't want to jeopardise it's safety, but when he is pondering over the perpetrators of the case, the feline would nuzzle itself up against his legs, which would make him become slightly soft inside

-Shopping for cat collars!! If you haven't noticed in the picture yet, Ayatsuji's cats both have cute collars that suit them very nicely, and there's no doubt he'd want the same for your cat (if you allow it of course). He has amazing taste, and knows where to get the cheapest but best looking cat collars in Yokohama. I headcanon he likes the collars with darker colours and a small bell on it; simplistic yet stylish

-As you all know, Ayatsuji likes dolls, and is talented at making them. So over the course of a few days, he might stitch together a few small dolls for your cat to play with. It keeps your cat entertained, and even Ayatsuji himself cracks a few rare smiles here and there at the adorable sight

-10/10 cat parent, and a 100/10 partner. Ayatsuji will treat you and your cat right :)

Do you have a primer on your OCs/story/worldbuilding? Cause “zebra terraforms the world into a horsemeat apocalypse” is a WILD hell of a thing to read out of context lmao

I am working on one! December is a busy month for me, but January, things should slow down, the job I'll be shifting into from my current one will be much less demanding of my time and energy levels, and give me plenty more writing time - I really want to lay down the basics, since I know I have been getting new followers who will be liek "Wait what, what's happening--" and even my older followers, a lot of the framework has changed as I have moved from old drafts to more updated, revised ones! Some characters' roles and designs have also changed over time as well (or they're on the shop table for redesigns I just haven't gotten to yet)

I'm also slowly working on a character guide by way of using the mini-bios I write when commissioned for icons as a starting off point, soon I'll have an easy/accessible character directory up on toyhouse and chip away at up to date references of everyone.

Now, for the sake of elaborating on that one out of context thing with Zebra and a horsemeat apocalypse, I can go ahead and elaborate on that pretty quick!

Zebra is a character in the story MantleDwellers, specifically he is a member of the "Conga Line of Apathy" - a famous boy band in the universe that is secretly a group of recurring elite henchman for the bigger villains.

[NOTE/Content Warning: Zebra's tag, and some of the posts/images I will link to in this text, contain blood and body horror, due to the nature of his powers, explained verbally a bit further down]

CLoA's shtick is a lot of straw nihilism and edgy misanthropic attitudes, and while Zoetrope is their leader, Zebra is the most pretentious about this aspect of their brand, he is a massive tool who acts like feelings of any kind are stupid and for idiots, especially positive or sentimental ones, and looks down on most people because of it, viewing himself as more mature and intellectually superior to them. He will be cruel and violent for basically no reason, and shrug off any attempts to call him out with the fact he doesn't care.

Of course, like most people who cultivate this mindset, he acts and talks like he's this big cold logic master who is just too smart to give a shit about anything in the universe, but he clearly derives pleasure from being needlessly mean, has a big ego about it, and seems to be projecting more than a little bit a lot of the time. On top of that, he has so deeply wrapped his ego up in this idea of himself as above the influence of emotions, that when something happens that does in fact make him feel anything, he has virtually 0 ability to cope with it and has a fucking meltdown because it wounds his pride more than anything. This even applies to when the feeling is a positive one. He is so, so obsessed with being beyond feeling, that something bringing him a moment of unironic joy is enough to threatens his perception of himself to the point of mental breakdown followed by desperate, violent rage.

The other thing about him, is that he is an elf that basically turns inside out into a nuckelavee - a skinless hybrid of a horse and a humanoid - on whim, usually for combat. His powers revolve around this form, and the meaty tentacles he can unfurl from it.

While very stoic in his elf form, his sadism tends to show more handily when in his nuck form. It embodies the worst aspects of his personality, the toxicity and, ultimately, evil in his heart. When he can't handle the bruise to his malevolent ego after feeling a single fond feeling for someone else, he decides to let that form irreversibly take over and upgrade itself, just so he can attempt to wipe out all life in the world in his ensuing "SEE I DON'T CARE AT ALL FUCK YOU" tantrum.

I actually have a playlist themed around this arc specifically. It's great. He's awful. Blast and a half to write, though.

While he is a recurring secondary character for a good chunk of the story, who gets proper depth and development, he is ultimately killed off, as both heroes and some of the villains, including his own former team/bandmates, have to team up to stop him and he is past the point of no return. His pride and stubborn refusal to accept he can be vulnerable for even a moment ends up being his downfall.

This kind of thing would be a spoiler, except I tend to play fast and loose with a lot of plot points in my story, since I feel confident that people would still be interested in seeing the journey and how exactly it all plays out, even if they know certain details already.

Also if everyone knows a plot beat already I can make jokes about it and that's fun.

I'm gonna say it: Lux Bonteri's story has the potential to be kinda compelling. Son of a separatist senator who ends up disillusioned and determined to do his part? it's interesting stuff if you squint!! and he does develop as a character! I just immediately resented him for being a badly shoehorned love interest for Ahsoka and for how poorly I thought that was written.

Okay okay, I'm bringing up dad!cal cause why not? Imagine kiddo having a tantrum over the funniest thing, maybe they were shown yours and cal's wedding photos and started cryijg cause they weren't invited, even though they were not even in the making yet and both parents trying not to laugh hard while consoling the baby but also failing closely cause it's too funny and cal breaking first and the baby gets angry and starts punching cal with their baby fist but that doesn't hurt him obvi. 1/2

And they just get angry and start giving him silent treatment until he is like what do i have to do to make you forgive me for not inviting you to our wedding and the baby is like get married again, and that's how you guys end up in the living room with makeshift wedding arch and soft toys as wedding guests and the baby plays every role from the flower girl/boy to ring bearer to the minister!! 2/2

omg sis :(((( this makes me soft. the kiddo would be so fucking salty just having an entire meltdown lmao and cal tries to tell her no hitting but he’s laughing so hard he can barely get it out. but cal hates seeing his lil girl mad at him so he’s like “i’m sorry, peanut, how can i make it up to you?” and she insists she wants to see you get married so you find yourselves setting up a mini wedding in the living room. maybe you and cal would even dig out your dress and suit from the real wedding just to make her happy, and you take off your rings and put them on a lil pillow for her, and she just runs the whole thing for you all the while you and cal cannot stop smiling, partially bc the whole thing is so funny and adorable but you’re also reminiscing on the real day. and you’d say lil shortened versions of your vows but you would still kiss each other with as much passion as you did years ago, and bby girl would cheer so loud :( and then your reception consists of ice cream

GW pics… phewt. my favourites are definitely the brown leather jacket ones, and the one that’s my header/icon (and the others like it), but the BTS video was the real killer for me like the bits of him laughing i just—–ugh my HEART. BABEY. the cream turtleneck looks hella soft and i really want to borrow it/snuggle him in it lmao

the other thing that i can’t stop thinking about is just like, imagine looking through the pics with him and taking the absolute piss out of him because they’re such “”””model”””” pics gipejgoewgewgwtgw but yano in a loving, am actually super proud of you and you look fire kinda way

okay SO! just for reference there’s 4 sets of friends involved here - my best friend megan (who i met on myspace literally over 10 years ago), 2 friends from uni, 4 friends from my course at uni (aka pharmacy girls), and 4 friends from high school

16-18th august megan was here and we went to ariana grande and had a fun time, all was well

19-23rd i was in norfolk with the 2 non-pharmacy uni friends for one of their birthdays, went canoeing and mini golfing etc etc, still having a good time

24-26th i was up north with the pharmacy girls, because one of them got married! this was a bit tougher, i ended up ducking out early and crying/having to take extra anxiety meds etc

27-30th i was back in london, exhausted from my travels and just basically big sad. like, Big Sad. Cried for 10 minutes because the thought of sitting at the table and eating a meal sounded too hard kinda sad. by the 30th i was feeling better though, and i had the flat to myself from then on so that was nice

31st my friends from school came to london, we bought a load of food and wine and spent several hours in regent’s park and it was delightful. we talked about everything and nothing, laughed a lot, and i got properly drunk without crying or having a meltdown for the first time in well over a year (maybe even two)

1st sept one of my school friends had stayed over so we went out for lunch before she had to go home, a pretty chill day tho i was a bit sad after she left (but in an aw that was nice i love my friends kinda way)

3rd-6th i talked about here and in the midst of that i got a new laptop lmao (edit: the 3rd was also the one year anniversary of my dad’s death so that was weird)

then sunday i saw my brother for the afternoon/evening which is always nice and then today i finally managed to chase up the outcome of a mental health assessment i had two months ago SO basically they just discharged me back to my GP and recommended they change my antidepressants. which is fine, i’m happy to do that because the ones im on clearly aren’t working, it’s just that lately i’ve been struggling a lot with feeling like people don’t think i’m trying hard enough to get better (for context i’ve always struggled with depression and anxiety but the last two years have been really shitty, like quit my job and became a recluse shitty) and i was kind of hoping this assessment would show that there’s something else like fundamentally wrong with me other than “just depression and anxiety”, like that would serve as evidence that i’m not just being lazy?? but at the end of the day i know it is a good thing that there isn’t anything more severe wrong with me, and i am trying my best and “just depression” isn’t a thing and that my family do love and support me it’s just my brain being mean to me as usual, and in any case the diagnosis doesn’t really change the course of action, it’s still gonna be meds and therapy.

so yeah that’s where i’m up to! that was long and im sorry! but if anyone was wondering lmao hi

ok! so in the au (in which, i should mention, they have eleven children “naturally” and adopted lmao) they’re not together when they first fall pregnant lmao. it’s kind of a running gag that roger’s pregnancies are always an accident.

essentially they both have feelings for one another and are fwb’s for about a year or so? but neither of them brings up the fact that they’re sort of vaguely in love with the other because they’re worried about the band dynamics blah blah blah. stupid boys being stupid boys. brian and freddie have NO IDEA that this is going on basically bc a) john? sweet innocent john? railing roger on the regular? no way and, b) roger has a Rep.

and then roger is like welp im fucking pregnant jesus CHRIST and has a mini meltdown of that without telling anyone bc.... the boy is cute but he’s stupid and he and john had a convo back when they first fucked that was along the lines of

roger: ok.... so tht happened :)

john: .................................. yes

roger: so-

john [panicked]: its ok i know no one can ever know

roger: .... yes that is definitely where i was going with that

john: it would. fuck up..... the band....

roger: ....... right. ok.

so roger is like john would rather DIE than ruin the band so. i’m just. gonna keep this...... quiet. for a bit. just. u know. the.... like, first trimester. or so. u know. just be chill ab this. but then john is like... hey so. you’ve been.... distant the past like two months are we just like... done? like no pressure man i get it we werent anything to you that’s all ok i get that but. we’re friends right? what’s happening. and roger is.... well. um. actually, funny thing? i’m kinda up the duff. whoops, yeah. found out...... like two months ago. i’m fourteen weeks. uh. no pressure, i wont tell anyone it’s urs. ya know i have.... a reputation ig it’s fine. uh, yeah too late for a termination ig :) :)

and john is like. ur fuckig kidding. u fucking wanker. WHY would u not tell me about this. and roger’s like well u know we were casual.... and i just, im sorry, i couldnt terminate i just couldn’t i didn’t want to. like. this is my baby!!! but i didnt want u to feel like u had to be involved, so.
