I was curious - who are your top ten favourite characters through all of the Star Trek series and why? I really enjoy your art, great job! It's always exciting when your stuff comes up on the dash because it's just *that good* and another thrilling installment!

First of all, thanks a lot !! It always makes me super happy when I hear people are excited about my art :D

And uh.. Oh that’s a tough one. I could easily tell you my fave character for each show, but an overall top 10? Let me think…

1 - Doctor McCoy and Spock

Theses two have been my fave TOS characters since I first watched the show back in 2015. And TOS may not be my favorite Trek anymore, but it will always have this special place in my heart ‘cause I’ve been obsessing over it for so much longer than the other shows (I started watching them back in like September 2020). So yeah Bones and Spock come first. And they’re both number 1 bc I was never able to choose between them and I probably never will

2 - Doctor Bashir

Hhhh Julian I love him I was part of the Elite Intellectuals who liked him even in the first DS9 season when he was annoying (maybe because him making the worst first impression on his future friends is something I find extremely relatable ? hum). I love his evolution too even if I’m not a fan of the Augment thing. He’s also very cute and hot I want to peg him

3 - Kira Nerys

Kira is hand down the best female character in all of star trek. Episodes focused on her were always interesting, and idk I’ve always loved characters that are very religious (without being zealots) ? Idk why, I’m a strong atheist so it’s super unrelatable to me but it makes me more interested and invested in them for some reason. Anyway she is also super pretty and hot and I love her smile and her voice and I’d let her step on me any day

4 - Tuvok

He’s just really cool and I love Vulcans. And also I think his actor is the only one beside Nimoy (and maybe the second actress who played Saavik) to really perfectly grasp how to play a Vulcan, and that makes him really compelling

5 - Will Riker

I really love this jazz himbo and I absolutely don’t know why ! By all accounts he shouldn’t be my favorite TNG character but for some reason he is

6 - Data

Ahh what could be said about everyone’s favourite android that hasn’t been said. He makes me very emotional for some reason, sometimes he’s so adorable I want to cry and every time something bad happened to him i’m just :’’’(

7 - Shran

This guy probably appear in like 6 episodes total (and I’ve only seen 3 of them so far) but he just carries Enterprise so much. He just makes the show 10 times better every time he walks on screen.he’s also played by Jeffrey Combs which gives him a bonus

8 - Q

Also a guys who steals the show every time he shows up. Less than shran tho but just because TNG is really much more solid than Ent. He’s just so damn fun

9 - Dukat

Ohh boy this is gonna piss off some people. But listen this guy is by far the best Trek villain. He’s ridiculously charismatic and makes every scene he’s in super entertaining no matter how wonky the writting is. It’s hilarious watching him getting in the most ridiculous situations but he can still be threatening when needed. He’s definitely an interesting character, he’s a gigantic asshole but as a character I just can’t hate him. Also, as many of you are aware, i’m a lizardfucker... so there’s that

10 - Worf

That’s it that’s just worf what else is there to say. I love this dude i’m so happy he got to be on both TNG and DS9

Honorable mentions who almost made it to the list : The EMH, Quark, Seven of Nine, Malcom Reed, Jadzia Dax, Captain Picard

Anyway that’s all I have sorry for the long post lol, I realise that my reasons for liking theses characters are always something like “I just love them and also i’m horny” but hey. When I love something I don’t always have a good explanation as to why okey

What current rp trend do you hate? // I don’t think I hate anything in terms of trends, things that I dislike may be just senseless preferences that have no true importance rp-wise. Maybe the over-saturated icons of 30x30px really aren’t the best to find and I find them straining a lot to my eyes, but I don’t hate any of that. I just think it’s kinda funny when I can’t understand what part of the body I’m looking at but that’s all in terms of trends. On certain blog themes, those icons may look even good ! How do you explain rp to someone in the real world? // HHHH perhaps, the concept of roleplaying may be seen as something ‘eh?’ by most of my peers in italy - I guess the concept is very hard for the average one to understand but. I’d say it’s not too different from d&d matches, with the dungeon masters being the writers themselves and the characters not being original - in my case, but OC might have it easier on that front sorta, but taken from various media. That’s more or less how I explained it to my sister years ago hahaha of course, the best way to explain it would be to just show them, that’s also quicker hhh

Do you think rp has had a positive or negative affect on your life or you as a person? // Positive and negative effects. But of course, the positive do surpass the others, or I wouldn’t be here still, after more than seven years. For example, it made me meet and even visit irl some amazing people I still talk to this day and consider true friends, who share passions and moments with me, playing games or watching stuff ! But the most notable effect it had, rp helped me getting a better grasp on the English language. I started this when I was still in high school and you have no idea how much it improved my english skills...

What do you know now about rp that you wish you knew when you first started? // Uhh, when I first started I had no idea just how cringe-y irl faceclaims may be. Not always though ! And don’t get me wrong, it’s useful sometimes with not enough canon material to work with (and I won’t ever consider anyone using irl faces to rp too cringy -- whatever suits you, it’s fine), but I did it with the stageplay counterpart of my muse and didn’t still feel right. Needless to say I stopped using the irl actress right away and resorted to anime and scenes from the game HHH it may just be a little thing of mine, I was still young and naive eheh

Do you read other people’s threads or do you only read your own? // Oooo I usually tend to read other threads too ! When I read some people’s thread on my dash and I like the plot and themes discussed, I try my best to follow the development of the story and to read the future replies ! On the contrary, after finishing MY threads, I rarely find myself rereading them ahaah unless I must. I find it embarrassing and I tend to find errors that make me feel stupid aaa but ! yeah... chances are I may read mutuals threads and ask memes on dash most of the time, I love all the different styles and plots I come across. I find it all very inspiring... I just, barely like them because it’s pretty weird for people not involved in said threads to like them?? right?? ahahah

My Opinion of Redtail’s Debt

I’m writing these out while reading the book so I don’t forget anything! This is just a way to motivate me to read. This is really long sorry. WARNING SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT

Chapter One

I liked it! Not much to say here it was kind of a boring chapter, not much happened. I kind of like how Redpaw seems admire Tigerclaw but can also tell he’s just too ready to fight. I don’t have much to say cause I read it a couple days ago and can’t remember much lol.

Chapter Two

- Wasn’t White-eye born with one blind eye? Am I just dumb?

- I like how Red is a little awkward around Sparrow and White. Like they’re being all lovey-dovey and he’s just like “I’ll . . Just be over there I guess … ”

- “[Redpaw] couldn’t help the warm curl of admiration that ran through him. He’s so brave.” Redpaw do you have a little crush? Honestly though … The way Red is talking about Tiger gives me little crush feels. I don’t ship it of course it’s just kind of cute. THIS IS FUTURE DASH SORRY I JUST REALIZED THEY’RE RELATED! I will say that I enjoy Red’s admiration of Tigerclaw though ;w; Please disregard any crush things you see in the future, I did not realize they were related I’m so sorry. in my au they’re not related so I hope you can forgive me cause I forgot that my AU isn’t canon eheheh sorry

- I wish Spottedpaw and Redpaw had more of an interaction than just “Here’s your herbs stay safe”. I like Willowpaw so far honestly?

- I miss the forest territories :(!

- I’ll kick that hawk’s ass how dare he hurt my son

Chapter Three

- “‘Don’t leave me,” [Redpaw] whimpered.“ DON’T LEAVE THE POOR BOY PLEASE.

- I like Sparrow’s interactions with Redpaw, especially when he thinks he might be hurt. He really seems to care for his apprentice.

- I really love Willowpaw. Scared for her brother :(!

- "If there’s anything I can ever do for you, T-Tigerclaw, just name it,” … “I owe you everything.” That seems like it’s gonna come and bite Red in the ass :/

- Tigerclaw obviously is just trying to get on Redpaw’s good side and I love it

- “You owe me more than one,” [Tigerclaw] purred cheerfully, “you owe me your life!” Please don’t turn that on him I know your evil but my poor son doesn’t deserve this!

Chapter Four

- Adderfang is a good dad! Supportive of his son! I love him!

- Runningkit and Mousekit I adore them.

- I know 100% that RunningRed is not going to be canon cause the editors suck, but honestly? I just wanna take this time to say that I absolutely adore them.

- Tigerclaw is scaring me lol

- AWW SWIFTBREEZE! I love Red, Willow’s, and Spotted’s good parents ;w;!

- I forgot the Clan thought Misty, Stone, and Moss were Blue’s and Thrush’s for a sec. I wish Thrushpelt could have seen them grow up :(

- Bluefur is so strong I adore her

- Tigerclaw’s taking Redtail out hunting and I’m nervous …

- Aw I love Sorrelpaw!!

- Don’t make fun of my son Tigerbitch

SORRELPAW

- YOU TELL HIM STAGLEAP! NO ONE HURTS SORRELPAW

- Please don’t hurt Stagleap ;w;

- Hhhh oh no Red and Tiger’s relationship seems really abusive and I hope it doesn’t turn out like SH ;n;

Chapter Five

- Runningkit I love you

- My poor Redson

- Sunstar don’t be too harsh please

- BCJAJXJX TIGERCLAW SHUT THE HELL YOUR FACE SORRELPAW DID IT ON ACCIDENT

- Red speak up please! Poor boy.

- Noooo my little red boy stop. You don’t owe Tigerclaw anything

- I’m glad Sunstar was reasonable enough to talk to Heaterstar

- Talltail! My boy!!

- Tigerclaw and Thistleclaw are little bitches I hate them

- Sunstaaar just listen to what Heather has to say

- Crookedstar and Cedarstar don’t want anything to do with Wind and Thunder’s drama

- I love Stagleap. He seems really level-headed but firm. I can’t remember him much from Tallstar’s Revenge heck

- I honestly like that Redtail sees Tigerclaw as a good cat so he can’t bring himself to say that he was wrong. It’s … Hard sometimes. I understand.

- Stagleap is a good, reasonable boy <3

- “I owe him everything … But does that mean i have to follow him, no matter what?” HHH that hits a little too close to home honestly

- Lol why wouldn’t Sunstar believe Redtail? He was there, plus he knows that Tigerclaw is too aggressive for his own good. Redtail just talk to him.

- Sunstar I love you but you’re a bit of a dummy :/

- Ooohh I honestly love Tigerclaw in this book so far. He’s pretty chilling. But uh LEAVE MY POOR SON ALONE

Chapter Six

- I like Brindleface and Frostfur’s relationship

- Poor Red boy :(

- YES REDDY CALL TIGERCLAW OUT FOR HIS BULLSHIT

- YESSSS GASLIGHTING Sorry I just like abused characters. But it seems like Redtail is gonna be treated the exact same as Spotted so :/? That’s real disappointing. Remember, if someone is abusing you please seek help! You aren’t obligated to stay with them if they’re hurting you, physically or emotionally!

- Don’t hurt the elders and queens please :(

- Honestly with Bluefur’s past and the death of her mother, I’m surprised she’d want to go through with this? Come on Erins she’s probably traumatized by WindClan’s camp.

- Only … Only six cats? This is a whole camp you’re barging into guys

- I really hope Tigerclaw and Thistleclaw don’t kill anyone

- I love WindClan’s camp honestly I love WindClan

- Aren’t Red and Patch brothers? I kind of wish they had more of a brotherly relationship :/

- I lied they’re cute

Chapter Seven

- Idk if they’ve said this before but “They haven’t changed a whisker” is my favorite phrase from Warriors idk why

- You go Redtail don’t let Tigerclaw scare you

- Yeah I hate the fact that Sand isn’t Redtail’s daughter anymore :/ It might have been because now Squirrel and Bramble aren’t related anymore (which I’m sure they are somehow) But I wanted to see a cute relationship between Sand and Red!

- Darkstripe has a thorn in his tail because he is a thorn in the tail.

- :( Redtail don’ gooo

Chapter Eight

- I wish we could have seen some more Dust and Red interactions. Maybe see how Dustpaw was before Darktail got his dirty paws on him?

- Ehhh Ravenpaw’s OOC? But I can excuse it cause he hasn’t been traumatized yet

- I wish we saw that Ravenpaw and Redtail were closer maybe? Just cause I always liked the idea that Ravenpaw really looked up to Redtail and wished he could ask Bluestar if she could have him and Dustpaw swap mentors

Chapter Nine

- nooooo Ravenpaw would never say that ugh

- Tigerclaw leave Ravenpaw alone! He may not be the Ravenpaw i know but FUCK OFF

- What?? What happened to Oakheart was killed by falling rocks? didn’t everyone in RiverClan agree to that? Was their pride hurt so they lied???? What happened to “It would be immoral for a deputy to kill another deputy”?????? Ugh okay now I’m angry

Chapter Ten

- Ooo I love the murder scene though. It’s almost exactly how I imagined it

- NOOOOO YOU CAN’T DO THE UNFULFILLED PROMISES TO ME DUSTPAW WAS WAITING FOR HIM ;n:!!!!

- I love the scene where he’s being guided to StarClan by Sunstar omg . I’ve been waiting for a POV character in StarClan and even if this is the closest we’ll get, I’m happy

- OOH THAT last scene was good. Firepaw! I love him.

OKAY SO last thoughts:

Someone said that she-cats were brutalized so Redtail could seem like a good guy and I didn’t see it? Who were the she-cats??

Also, I think some people hated the fact that Redpaw admired Tigerclaw but. I liked that part. It was interesting. And it made sense! Tigerclaw was a strong, brave warrior who hadn’t shown his true intentions yet so. It makes sense that Redpaw admired him

Overall it was . . . good? Better than everyone said it’d be. I didn’t love it I didn’t hate it. It was just eh. I’d read it again. Redtail was a good cat who genuinely seemed loyal and brave, just like we wanted.

I’ll do Tawnypelt’s Clan next!!

Dragon Age Questions

01) Favourite game of the series?

Origins! It’s the first one I played, and each time I pick it up I find something entirely new in the experience. The characters feel like old friends, and the dialogue is really charming. It also has a ridiculous high-fantasy vibe that I love, which seems to be lacking in later games. I know it’s silly, I know it’s absurd and dated... but you just can’t beat that possessed rhyming oak tree npc…

02) How did you discover Dragon Age?

When Inquisition was announced, I started seeing a lot of it on my dash, so a friend and I started playing the series! I was hooked pretty much right away.

03) How many times you’ve played the games?

I’ve finished Origins three times, DA2 twice, and I’m currently playing Inquisition for the first time!! Exciting!

I also have a handful of unfinished playthroughs on Origins, which were attempts to create new Warden characters, but none of them got past the first quest. I just love my Mahariel too much…

04) Favourite race to play as?

Elves! I love the worldbuilding behind them, the city elves, the Dalish, and the ancient elves. I hate pretty much everything about how these issues are handled in game, though.

05) Favourite class?

Mage!

06) Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time?

Pretty much. I have tried to play as different characters so as to explore different outcomes and decisions, but again… I love my OCs too damn much.

07) Go-to adventuring group?

Origins: Hamal, Zevran, Morrigan, Sten. DA2: Renata, Varric, Anders, Isabela. Inquisition: Neluayo, Varric, Blackwall, Sera—so far!

08) Which of your characters did you put the most thought into?

Listen, I love creating OCs and putting ridiculous amounts of thought into them. It went from being a coping mechanism as a newly immigrated depressed and anxious child, to something I still love as an adult. I have a hard time picking one OC I put the most thought into…

But because I’ve played Origins the most, and played it first, Hamal has a lot more content in his tag than my other Dragon Age OCs. He’s my baby and I adore him.

09) Favourite romance?

Zevran’s, no question. I think he may be one of my favorite characters in the series, romance or no! I love his background and his personality and his character arc. My boy...

10) Have you read any of the comics/books?

Nope!

11) If you read them, which was your favourite book?

Didn’t read any of them but I do own World of Thedas v1 and v2, and it seems each time I open it I find something new and surprising about the world. I love it!

12) Favourite DLCs?

I really enjoyed Return to Ostagar for Origins, and Legacy for Dragon Age 2. I know Inquisition has some amazing DLC content so I’m looking forward to that!

13) Things that annoy you.

The constant retconning, and rewriting of issues to suit a certain agenda in game. Especially regarding treatment of the mages or the elves. Like, I know this is a fictional narrative, okay? But it’s annoying to watch the story go from ‘Templars are unequivocally abusing their power and oppressing this group of people’ to ‘well they have good reason for it, sometimes you have to massacre an entire population because of one incident, it’s Gray Morality™ sweetie!’

Nah, it’s just bad writing! And it’s okay to admit that lol

14) Orlais or Ferelden?

I have no strong feelings on the matter. Would love to hear more about Antiva or Seheron!

15) Templars or mages?

Mages!

16) If you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one?

Same universe. I don’t have an interest in having multiple Wardens or Hawkes tbh, I... I get too attached lol

17) What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc)

Hamal calls his mabari D’alen. He is the most spoiled mabari in all of Thedas, typically guarding the camp, never fighting or being placed in danger. Renata calls her mabari Nicolo, and she loves putting warpaint on him. The dog accompanied Carver at Ostagar and takes care of the family over their years in Kirkwall. I still need to name Neluayo’s hart!

18) Have you installed any mods?

A few for Origins (different robes for Morrigan and the realistic appearance mods for companions), and several for DA2 (dialogue tweaks and new hair/appearance options). But Inquisition seems kinda complicated to mod, and I don’t want to break the game hhhh

19) Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden?

No, he wanted to find Tamlen and go back to his clan. He actually did take off after Ostagar, driven by anger and fear and homesickness. Alistair was devastated. Morrigan had to go and fetch him, convincing him to return.

20) Hawke’s personality?

A good mix of purple and blue, but let’s be real, Renata is pink. Whimsy, whimsy, whimsy.

21) Did you make matching armor for your companions in Inquisition?

I haven’t played around with armor creation yet… sounds fun though!

22) If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?

Hamal would have gone after Tamlen. It’s his greatest regret. Even before encountering him as a ghoul, Hamal was never able to shake the feeling that Tamlen had survived. But Duncan shot down every hope, and there was so much going on after Ostagar… there came a point where Hamal accepted that Tamlen was gone.

When he shows up again, too far beyond any help but a blade between his ribs? It’s not something he ever gets over.

23) Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?

Oh I love breaking canon.

Hamal never becomes Warden Commander. His political influence by the time of the Landsmeet is as perilous as you might expect of an angry and traumatized Dalish elf whose interest was more on surviving and defeating the Blight, than, say, being on any noble’s good side. The only reason he isn’t immediately executed is because he and his allies called in many favors and made many concessions. One being that he would leave the Wardens and not remain politically involved. Frankly, the crown and nobility hoped he would perish against the Archdemon. But here we are!

Alistair becomes Warden Commander instead. Receiving the boon comes with challenges of its own. The Dalish receive all the land that was most tainted by the Blight. Reconstruction takes years and is still an issue during Inquisition era.

To that end, the political influence of the Dalish during Inquisition leads to a lot of changes for Neluayo’s canon too. Because the elves have a hold over much of the south, the Inquisition needs to ally with them to even gain access to those regions. Neluayo being Dalish herself smooths things over some, but she is really in a complex position, with the Dalish, with the Chantry, with the monarchy… being stationed in the Free Marches, Clan Lavellan is one of the clans that has yet to join the southern Dalish. It’s a huge stressor for her.

As for Hawke, I keep both her siblings alive. Renata needs her little sister ;; <3 They do all go their separate ways after events in Kirkwall though. Orsino is also alive. Varric was clearly covering for him!

And I know Hawke already has a VA buuuut I headcanon Renata’s voice to sound more like Brittany Howard’s! Because it’s adorable.

24) Are any of your character(s) based on someone?

Not really. I never create them with any one source of inspiration or influence in mind.

25) Who did you leave in the Fade?

I’m gonna leave Stroud in the Fade! Makes my life a lot easier lol

26) Favourite mount?

I’ll agree that the harts are amazing! And they’re just so TALL. Love those majestic Thedosian megafauna. The bog unicorns are cute too, they’ve grown on me, surprisingly. Ha!
