So my friend hosts a fantasy RP server, and for the server I decided to make reference sheets for my characters, mainly cause I just really wanted to design their clothes. It’s been a while and I decided to share them here. I might be adding more to my lineup later, so if I do, I’ll be showing them here, eventually XD

Basic Breakdown: It’s a server with three nations; Herenas, Walbestand, and Viðuligr. Each of them have different polices about magic and mages that have put them at odds with one another. That’s the basic plot. It covers some heavy topics but it’s pretty neat.

Matteo

Crown Prince of Walbestand. He lives his life in comfort and tightly under the thumb of his father Rome. Despite being first in line to be King he’s yet to internalize that he will be in charge in the stead of his father, and thusly, that his father’s actions will reflect his own down the line. This causes conflict as Rome has made many anti-mage policies, and Romano (unknown to him) has communication magic, allowing him to sense people’s intentions and dream of past and future events. He never wants his life to change, but also knows that life has a funny way of doing whatever he doesn’t want to happen.

Alexander

Outlaw in Walbestand. He was caught in the cross-fire of Rome’s anti-mage policies as a born and trained potions mage. Raised by family half magic and half not, as the third brother he knew that he had to find his own thing as his older brothers were destined to inherit his mother and father’s businesses. Mid studying magic and apprenticing under his mother Rome released a law that all mages must turn themselves over to the crown, so his family gave him a choice. Cease his magic use and hide, or be turned to the crown, so the young teen made the obvious choice and ran away. He now lives in an abandoned temple deep in the woods, making potions and medicine. All he wants is a peaceful life without trouble... and to find a way out of the country safely...

Ludwig

International Traveling Salesman. He has never known a home. With no memory of his childhood the first thing he remembered was finding a friend, a brother even, in the fellow orphans in the streets, stealing and bartering whatever he could to survive. One day, his brother got very sick, and then disappeared, leaving Ludwig alone. He has spent his life bouncing between kingdoms, a citizen in none, selling whatever he could make or find to feed himself another day. The fire magic that bubbles within him is unstable, and since he has no education, he doesn’t know he has it, or even how to control it. One day he dreams of opening a bakery, but he knows it will never happen.

"Kruzan was a straight-A student, that she began writing at the age of ten, that by age eleven she was groomed for sex trafficking, and in 1995 she was put on trial for killing the same trafficker that had groomed her. Because his record of abuse was not allowed as evidence in her trial, Kruzan was sentenced, at age seventeen, to life imprisonment at the Central California Women’s Facility. As a result of media attention and years of fighting the verdict, she was finally granted clemency in 2013 after spending more than eighteen years of her young life in prison. She is now an activist who speaks on sex trafficking, and as disturbing as her story is, the interview with her on the website asks more of us than sympathy. Like Herena, Kruzan explains, ‘the way that I came to my art was being incarcerated’. Later, she adds: ‘…for me, it's kind of like with each stroke somehow I'm empowering myself and taking back that moment and neutralizing it and then planting another seed’. [6]"

I am delighted to finally introduce Iris Tulver, heir to the Northlands, and daughter of King Daylen and Queen Herena of House Tulver (sigil is of a waterfall cascading down a mountain).

The people of the Northlands are tough. You need to be in order to survive this vast mountainous landscape and its long winters. There are multiple clans here, known as Houses, and while each House is governed by their respective family, they are all united by one leader, one King.  

The strong bonds between the Houses have given individuals little need to journey south. That, and the imposing mountain range that separates the Northlands from the rest of the continent.

The Northlands provide for its people, and the people carry its legends and history. 

- Iris is a significant figure in the fantasy novel I am currently writing.

These two looks familiar don’t they ?

Herena is the first biological daughter of Sandara and Logan and Yohan they’re youngest ✨️(didn't draw him yet but Andy is also part of the family he’s their first son after all ;)

Their names carry special meanings : The "H" in Herena pays tribute to Logan's father while the "Y" in Yohan honors Sandara’s mother Yisul.

They are still big work in progress but it was fun to try blending Sandara and Logan features together ~

(Note that the percentages relate to both physique and personality)

Anyway can’t wait to have them in game I will probably doodle them like crazy when the game will be fully release~

Spells From "A Darker Shade of Magic", a series by V.E. Schwab

I'm not saying everyone should do this, but I enjoy pulling fictional magic into my craft for inspiration. I read so many books about being a magician as a kid, of doing incredible things before I realized that I could do them to. In a way these stories shaped me, the same way a Sea Witch is influenced by the ocean.
