@storymakerfangirl666 asked me this on my old blog, so i’ll be reposting my answer here bc i doubt they saw my reply bc of shadowban
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
no matter the perspective i look at it from, i truly don’t think i can ever tell neither levi nor anyone that their lives, along with all the hardships and trauma they had to go through, were just created for mere entertainment.
however, i’d tell him who i really am, because if the romantic feelings are there, the man deserves the closure before my disappearance. i’d tell him this body isn’t mine, i’d tell him my soul belongs to another world where i loved him just the same, where i rooted for and never doubted an ounce of his strength, and he’ll probably tsk and huff and call me a mad woman.
but i’ll take even that, and i’ll convince him all the same. i think i’d tell him i’ll be watching him from wherever i was, that he deserves everything good, and send a prayer to anyone who will listen to give him the love i wanted to give him.
i dont think id ever be able to tell him so face to face though, so a letter would do. i’d slip out from his side with one last kiss to a tender cheek and leave the pre-written letter on the desk where he will be resuming work first thing, and just hope he doesn’t hate me too much.
although to me, finding the will to actually leave him would be the hardest task of them all.
one more thing, but eren is one stubborn fucker. his character build up is slow but surly turning him more and more sturdy, and changing his perspective would be very difficult, but i’d like to think that if he’s seen a little more love, he would’ve turned out beautifully.
so maybe i’d do that to change his faith. i’d give him love of my own, take care of him the way a teenager should be taken care of, give him a little more faith, but still, the power of the founding titan is too great for him to stay sane under its pressure.
(MANGA SPOILERS)
and changing his faith would only mean that the power of the titans would remain to exist, and in my opinion, their riddance is as good and safe as it can get. maybe there would be another way for him to take use of the founding powers in a less destructive way if he had just a sliver more of faith in world that only betrayed him.
i know the aot verse is a cruel place, i know love is hard to find, give, or receive for obvious reasons, but i cant help but feel the need to want to give all good things the universe can offer

Beginner's Guide Image Captioning
i get a lot of people lately asking me how to do this so i may as well write up a guide. if you’re new to captioning—that’s fine! i’m certainly not an expert. i’m speaking entirely from my own personal experience and working with my own vision loss. i am not an expert. please do not expect me to be.
why should i caption/describe images?
because a lot of people on the internet are blind or vision impaired. many of them use screenreaders. if you want to try out what this is like, you can turn voiceover on on your phone or computer—i recommend you try it. all images without captions are read as “image”. it gets old.
in addition, especially for comics or reaction images or photos with small text or details, even sighted people can miss these details. adding this information in a caption or description means people won’t miss it! especially since tumblr just added the ability to actually caption images, now’s a great time to get into the habit!
how do i do it?
on twitter you can turn this on via settings > accessibility > compose image descriptions. on tumblr it’s supposedly done via alt text by clicking on the meatballs on an image, although it’s not actually been working for me, because it’s tumblr. you can also do it as a reply to the original tweet, a qrt of the original tweet, a reblog comment, etc. the main idea is to do it.
what do i do?
let’s do some examples, going from what i have saved on my desktop, because i’m lazy:
Tumblr media
[id: pottsfield c.m. sheet music]/end id
this is a good start—it says what the reader needs to know in the loosest terms. this is the song, here’s what this image is. but it’s leaving out a lot of information: what is pottsfield c.m., what kind of sheet music is this? so let’s try adding some more:
[id: pottsfield c.m. from “over the garden wall” in the key of a major, transcribed into four-shape notation]/end id
this tells the reader a good deal more: where the music comes from, what the song is, what key it is in (important, for if they want to sing it!) and, most importantly, it’s not just sheet music, this is four-shape shapenote notation, which is very different from traditional sheet music. but we could do even more!
[id: pottsfield c.m. from “over the garden wall” in the key of a major with the composers and transcribers listed in the top right corner. this version has been transcribed into four-shape notation, rather than just written to sound like it. each bar has a repeat and the two lines of lyrics are beneath the treble and the tenor lines. verse 1: o hie thee forth o’er mead: yon is the maypole set—a ribbon to wind thy soul, and to bind love to thy breast/verse 2: from flesh removed, our chalk footfall tempers this holy ground, where timeless spirits meet, ‘round the heart of Pottsfield town.]/end id
depending what you were using this for, all three of these could be appropriate captions. the first would be to note what it is, the second could be to tell the reader “this is the version someone actually made singable!” and the third is the details needed for someone who might be interested in singing it
what about for art?
let’s do something fairly well known with a lot of detail
Tumblr media
[id: photograph of da vinci’s the last supper, not color corrected.]/end id
simple, short, sweet, accurate. gets the info across. but if you’re doing analysis, or you’re running an art blog? then you’d want:
[id: photograph of da vinci’s the last supper, not color corrected. the fresco is faded and large blocks of color have desaturated, but all thirteen figures remain visibly individual, as does the white tabletop. in the center jesus sits in a red and blue robe, hands outstretched on the table, looking down, in front of three open windows. around him are ranged the apostles in various states of conversation. most notably john is leaning away from jesus, in reverse colors (blue robe, red cloak).]/end id
if you were doing analysis on the painting itself, you could add as many details as you’d want: judas knocking over the salt cellar, the hand with the knife, the spilled wine, etc.
if you’re doing your own art, think about the following checklist:
who is the character(s)/what is the setting?
what is the medium? is this line/sketch/screentone/full color/watercolor/digital/traditional/cell shaded?
what are the colors i’ve used here? are they in their original color palette or is this a palette swap?
what are they doing? where are they looking? are they holding something? are they talking?
what is the background?
what is the text, if there is any?
if it’s a comic, what is the dialogue? what happens in each box?
simply: what are the details that you as the artist wanted to communicate to your viewer? those should be in your id—or in an id for someone else’s art.
what about memes and shitposts?
blind/visually impaired people like memes and shitposts and reaction images just as much as anybody else. captioning these can be a little bit different, because of how accessible certain images are in conversational parlance. here’s a point to think about how you use these images aloud—for example, do you say “cat no banana dot png” aloud? or “woman doing math dot png”?
know your audience here, and always err on the side of too much info better than no info. some examples:
Tumblr media
[id: man drinking from cup with mouth open.gif]/end id
[id: gif of a white man making unblinking eye contact with the camera and rictus grinning as he drins out of a water glass with his mouth open so that the water runs back down his chin]/end id
Tumblr media
[id: bb GET OUT]/end id
[id: two panel comic of big boss from hiimdaisy’s mgs comics. first panel: bb on white background. second panel: zoomed in bb in shade on a black background saying GET OUT.]/end id
[id: two panel comic from gigidigi’s hiimdaisy metal gear solid comics showing big boss (older white man with slicked back white hair and a cartoonized beard, missing his right eye with an eyepatch over it). in the first panel he is grinning and in lineart only over a whit background, remaining eye shut. in the second panel he is in intense shadow, his left eye open, mouth in a rictus grin on a black background saying GET OUT.]/end id
notice each of these changes for audiences: for some audiences, the first would be enough of a caption—that would be for a group where this image is used a lot. the more information you have, the more it clarifies for the reader.
this is true of all reaction gifs and images and macros like this—“is this a pigeon?” “guess ill die” “i am a dumb bitch with terrible taste”. these are all going to be described differently to different audiences, and erring on the side of caution never hurts.
what about selfies?
the same rules apply as about art: what do you want your viewer to know? for example, if you censor some part of your body with an emoji, that can be important. if you’re using a wheelchair and you want your viewer to know the brand of wheelchair, say that. if the important part of the selfie is “my face blurry and only visible from the eyebrows up in the foreground and bigfoot, nine feet tall, covered in orange fur and screaming as he crashes through the underbrush about 40ft behind me, blurry because i’m running” then caption the part that matters.
what about text screenshots?
please fucking caption text screenshots. text pixellates badly—my vision in low-stress scenarios with my glasses on is pretty good, and even still i can’t read text in screenshots from stuff like discord or id badges without my screen zoomed in to 3-4x zoom. these are often the easiest to caption, because you can c+v the text! for example:
Tumblr media
[id: screenshot from discord saying:
fatal vore: type it, coward. alexei: you’re gonna regret this. alexei: but ok. fatal vore: tehy dont call me mortal hubris for nothing]/end id
or, if the reader isn’t familiar with who these two people are:
[id: screenshot from discord saying:
@aethercurrent: type it, coward. @jonphaedrus: you’re gonna regret this. @jonphaedrus: but ok. @aethercurrent: they dont call me mortal hubris for nothing]/end id
for screenshots that have images in them, this is even more important!
Tumblr media
[id: screenshot from discord that has been put under a sepia toned filter with the JJBA to be continued roundabout arrow meme superimposed on it, saying:
alexei/@jonphaedrus: i really like how you’re developed a title style to represent every character pov alexei/@jonphaedrus: its kinda alexei/@jonphaedrus: quirky
underneath the text box, there is a notice that fatal vore/@aethercurrent is typing]/end id
now: i don’t claim to be an expert. i’m one person, learning to navigate my vision loss, and i’m not perfect. i often don’t do captions, and i should. we all should. not captioning images, especially ones used as parts of internet conversation, locks people out. this includes tweets and threads based on screenshots of other websites and headlines. this is all our visual art and our gifs, our photos of fashion. i am not a monolith, i am just trying to give you all a place where to start.
there are a lot of other resources online for this. here are just a few to start with. there are many, many more. social media is hugely visually inaccessible, and one or two sentence captions do not take much time—and it makes a big difference!

26th August 2019
So I have never written a blog but I wanted to share a bit more of the changes I have been going through since we decided to start trying to make more environmentally friendly choices.  Today wasn’t necessarily the day I was going to start writing but its been a day!!
After a bit of a mental break down last year (which if you are close to me you will know about) if you aren’t close to me this is helping my recovery and hopefully helping anyone else who feels they just aren’t good enough or don’t deserve the life they lead and how ive been able to turn it into something positive. Actually it wasn’t a bit of a breakdown (im trying to be honest) for me it was a real turning point in my life, it was realizing that if I didn’t make a change then potentially my marriage would struggle to survive.
If you don’t know me I have two beautiful sons from a previous relationship, Reggie is the oldest (11) and he is the most like me in temperament and Lenny (8) who has the biggest heart of anyone I know, but we were on our own for a little while after separating from their dad and they got me through each day. Until I met my husband, a total chance encounter when I was out on a girls night out with my best friend, that I totally did not expect to result in a wedding (an absolute fairytale) and a beautiful third child, my absolute character that is Alex.
So fast forward a few years to October 2018 where I was helping run the biggest online delivery department in a large supermarket chain (bear in mind this was a role where I started as a shopper just after I finished maternity leave with Alex, and within a year had proved myself and gone through a rigorous training program – that actually  I couldn’t be more thankful for, for the skills I learnt and the people I met -) but I started work at 3AM in the morning and although I was supposed to finish at 12:00 this rarely happened, and then I needed to come home and be Mum to a full on toddler and two older boys who were going through some real difficulties themselves and I needed to be there much more then I was physically able to be because to be honest I was just so tired all of the time. What I didn’t realise was that actually this tiredness was actually depression. And this depression had been slowly eating away at me for a long, long time. Now on the outside why would I be depressed? I have a loving and attentive husband, 3 beautiful children and a really good job which is what you put out there for the world to see (social media reality verses actual reality) but in actuality I was drowning.
We made the decision to move from a rented 3 bedroom house into a 3 bedroom mobile home in my in laws garden in January,  because we knew that even if I worked full time and so did my husband we could never save up enough to own or own home. We were so fortunate that I have literally the most supportive and loving in laws anyone could ever possibly have, as they were willing to let us move this stonking huge caravan into their garden!!! Not only did they allow this but they have allowed us to basically use the entire garden as if it was our own and we are often ‘borrowing’ items we have run out of from their kitchen!! This did put a huge strain on my bigger boys, (although they shared a room before) they now had to share an even smaller space and they were going through a huge amount of anxiety at their dads house too.
So in the short space of 6 or so months we moved from a house to a caravan, I increased my hours at work and also my responsibility with my job level, my bigger boys moved schools, we moved out to the countryside and into my inlaws garden and our lives changed drastically. Each shift at work became even more stressful, there was a day when I started at 3AM and at 2PM I had locked myself in the back of a van while I called James to tell him I had no idea when I was going to make it home because I had to stay until the job was done, the buck stopped with me and I have never ever been able to give anything less then 100% . That day my bigger boys got home from their dads house before I got home from work, and as a mum you feel so guilty. The guilt never stopped it just built, the guilt where I was so exhausted I just wanted my then 2 year old to have an afternoon nap so I could sleep too, or the guilt of falling asleep while watching a family movie with your bigger boys and not spending the time with them, the guilt of just letting them get away with behavior that normally you would stamp out because you are just too tired too cope and then the guilt of knowing that your husband who is working a full time demanding job has to come home and parent for both of us because his wife is a walking, forgetful zombie. The friction in the house was awful; on one side you have the bigger boys who are lashing out because this is their safe zone because they too are going through it with their dad and their mum is a bit vacant, and on the other side you have a step-father who is trying his best to parent them but also raise a 2 year old to not copy their bigger brothers not so great (for some reason I can’t write bad!) behavior, then there was me the glue… the only reason all these people were stuck in this miserable situation together.. so I reasoned what if I wasn’t here anymore? Then that would take away this situation, the reason that these 2 sparring factions were in the same house… and this is a dangerous mindset. Add in the tiredness, the constant stress from work, from my wider family unit and the mum guilt of never quite being there enough for each child and then the day, the day I sent my son on a school trip with no lunch… and he was too polite to tell anyone at school he had no lunch because he didn’t want me to feel bad that I’d forgotten, this was a recipe for disaster.
This kind of feels like a tangent, but actually it’s a starting point, like a bit of a cleansing to get it kind of all out (not really all,  just like a bit of an overview) but that’s how you get to where the changes began. The call to my husband from the driveway after work, which id left 2 hours late…again… im pretty sure he didn’t understand a word I said through the sobbing, but he left work in an instant and came to me because I needed him and he knew that I did and that day was the start of our fresh chapter. I never did go back to work after that and I take each day as it comes now but I am so grateful that, that day led to our change of mindset and that, that day has led me here. It led me to have the courage to be a ‘stay at home mum’ who loves baking, and helping with the PTA (at our school they are called FOTs) , and annoying the older ones immensely because I help out at everything I can just to give back and to watch them enjoying themselves when they think I can’t see them! And it led me to agreeing with James that we should start something of our own, a business that has grown into a lifestyle choice, which has increased our awareness of the world dramatically and has also helped increase our boys awareness too.
This is where @Salvagestitchrestore was conceived, we began with a small idea of repurposing/ recycling/ reducing to create new things from old and unwanted items and its now nearly 8 months on and we are still going. I know this is not a long time, but to us its huge, and it means so much that families have benefitted so much from our creations and that we have done just a few small things to help the planet along the way.
For me mentally it has meant so much to be able to build a small tiny into a small business and a lifestyle change. It is not a walk in the park and nearly everyday a new challenge is thrown into the mix and lets face it, I know its the same for everyone, but I want to show that we can all pull together and support one another to overcome these obstacles and learn from them and move forward and turn them into a positive.
Ive totally rambled on enough in this!! Im sure I didn’t even get to say what  I wanted to say but then that’s the beauty of a blog ive found (being an expert since this is my first one!)  that actually its getting the words out and maybe something in here might resonate and maybe help just one person, then this was totally worth it!!

Introduction
welcome to my private, selective hope mikaelson from the originals and legacies.
Mun
mun is 20 years old (6/21 birthday). jennifer. eastern timezone.
Contact
discord is a very good option to contact me. You can ask for my discord information or skip to the discord section of the rules
ims are generally for people that I roleplay with but I will not rp in the ims feature.
ask box is also a good way to contact me if the other two options don’t work
Tagging
triggers are tagged with the trigger first and then tw. abuse, for example, is abuse tw.
all interactions are tagged with my interaction tag, a tag for how for the kind of thread it is (one para, novella, one-liner, etc), the verse, your url.
I do not comment in the tags as it makes me really anxious but I read all of your comments in the tags.
please tag all your mentions of overdose and drugs. my uncle passed away from drugs and ever since then, I have a habit of crying and becoming a mess when I see things about it when I am already on edge. my therapist says it sounds like a trigger for me.
if I do anything with someone one that mentions drugs or overdose, I will be doing it will someone that I can talk with and they know that replies can take a while. the drug that makes me a crying mess the most is heroin. weed is a different story and if you character is a smoker of weed that is okay to mention in replies.
Face Claim
danielle rose russell is teenage/young adult hope
alexandra daddario is  alt adult hope
elena saltine is Hope’s adult fc
Sophie Turner is Hope’s alt fc
summer fontana is child hope
Exclusives
I do have exclusives and mains. you can find them on mains and exclusives
Smut
I am an adult in all countries meaning it is legal for me to smut.
I will not do anything with minors in this area. sorry, not about that life. do not lie about your age
I have not done a lot of smutting so I am new to it (just a heads up).
 NSFW (Other than Smut)
other not safe for work content is likely to be on this blog. hope’s backstory is traumatic. her parents are dead (in canon), she watched her mother be tortured, she has thoughts of suicide ((i will talk to you before i put anything like this in our threads as this is highly triggering)). she has ptsd, anxiety, and struggles to control her magic and isn’t afraid of the darkness inside of her
blood, killing, murder, all of the things that generally are in supernatural are present. hope is a tribrid of three different creatures (vampire, werewolf, witch)
Memes
you can send memes in to start a relationship off with hope if that is easier. please try not to send in romantic ones though without at least talking to me first.
if you want to continue the ask meme reply of mine please move it to another clean text post or I will not reply.
Canon Divergent
there are some things that I will not be following in canon. I will let everyone know what that is.
hope has an abilities page that I made up with my own headcanons and tidbits and I will not shy away from them.
nonplayable characters that I make up are really for me to enhance the story of hope mikaelson. she has had teachers, friends, family all that make an impact on her and if one is mentioned that isn’t from the show(s) it is likely a nonplayable character in that nonplayable character tag.
 Non-playable characters
do you see a character mentioned in my blog that you like and would want to make as an oc? need help with it? come and ask me about playing them and I will likely say yes. these characters are my babies, made to enhance my version of hope but if you do make one, I will not say you can’t interact with other hope’s as well just note that part of the character is mine in terms of the idea of them etc.
any questions on nonplayable characters? just ask! want to hear more about them? see if they are open for you to nab as an awesome oc? my ask box is open always for that
Hate
any and all hate will likely be deleted unless I have something sassy to say. most of the time though you will just be blocked right on the spot and that will be the end of that. I am not here to spread a hateful environment, never have sent anything hateful and believe that it is a pointless thing to do.
I will not vague blog about someone on this blog, this is something that so many have anxiety over.
Ask Box
at any time I post something you don’t understand, you are free to message me. you can ask questions on or off anon. (do not send hate as mentioned above).
Personal Blogs
drabble requests? questions on something?  requests on gif sets for hope? feel free to send them in!
do not reblog my threads with other people!
stealing my headcanons or reblogging them will get you blocked. it makes me uncomfortable.
do not reblog my ooc posts!
Duplicates
anyone that loves hope like I do and makes a muse for it? I will support you. we can do twin threads, talk about hope, share headcanons, and more.
Queue
my queue is something I use often when it comes to hope’s blog. a lot of my replies go straight to my queue! if you are unsure where your reply is, just ask me! don’t badger me though to reply or post straight away
Connections
I am really open to original characters and things that have a connection to hope so feel free to bring me all your amazing ocs without shame. have a bio page though or at least some stats as that is something I look for.
Following
have a rules page, an about page! rules are a big one for me as I want to read over things and be comfortable knowing when I am crossing a line
a clean tagging system. need help creating one? just ask me!
if I see our character’s interacting
Unfollowing
lots of negativity, hateful messages sent to people, ship bashing are all things that will get you unfollowed.
if we haven’t interacted or talked at least once in the first like three months that I followed you, I will unfollow
inactive blogs (for three months) without a hiatus notice. if you come back, feel free to message me and I will refollow you.
if you constantly are changing your muse (as in once every two weeks) and show no steady sign of keeping to a character. this does not count on multis as that is a different story. I want to build relationships with characters.
Shipping
shipping with me is based on chemistry. we can have a trial run though if anything.
I ship hope with landon, josie, lizzie, rafael so far in legacies.
Replies
I can be slow as a turtle at times. a lot of my time is spent rewriting things as I do not always like how it was written when I first did it.
things tend to go on into the queue as I have mentioned before or straight into my drafts for me to write a thousand times.
I don’t really do fancy formatting. small text, some italic for thoughts, some bolding sometimes, and an icon that I made is generally how things work. if you are looking for hope icons, send me an ask over here and I will lead you to where they are.
double small text will be resized if I notice it so that others can read it on my blog. nothing against your formatting but I want to be readable on font sizing.
I do use a generator for the first line of text that isn’t mobile friendly but if you need me to change it because you are unable to read the text for your threads, just let me know.  𝐈𝐅 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐂𝐀𝐍'𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐏𝐈𝐄𝐂𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐄𝐗𝐓 𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐌𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐑𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐓 𝐌𝐄 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖!
Discord
Username / id on discord is  thingsmissed#4353
I do rp on discord as well and have a room set up with my tumblr url. You can enter the room and I will give us a few channels that only you and I can see. Want to enter the server to rp there? Click here!
Extra
I love to get to know my rp partner’s. I do find it easier to write with them if I talk to them even just a little.

The Washington Times: Statement by World Buddhism Association Headquarters

Statement by World Buddhism Association Headquarters
In order that the public truly understands World Buddhism Association Headquarters and H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, World Buddhism Association Headquarters specially states the following:1.  We at World Buddhism Association Headquarters will assume all legal liability for the veracity of this statement.
2.         H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is the supreme world leader of Buddhism. Such a status is not self-investiture! The status of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as a Buddha did not result merely from Buddhists calling Him that out of respect. Rather, in accordance with the Buddhist system of status-recognition that is more than 1,000 years old, such status was recognized by those Dharma kings, regent Dharma kings, and eminent monastics who have status-recognition authority within Buddhism. They include Dharma King Dodrupchen, who is the sole lineage-holder of the highest Rainbow-Body Accomplishment Dharma; Dharma King Penor, who was the third supreme world-leader of the Nyingma sect; Dharma King Achuk, who was the foremost monastic of great virtue in modern Tibet; Dharma King Gongbao Dumu Quji, who is the Yidam-Dharma Initiation Master of the 17th Karmapa; Dharma King Jigme Dorje, who is the supreme world-leader of the Jonang sect; Sleep Yoga Dharma King Mindrolling Trichen, who was a master of the Dalai Lama; Dharma King Trulshik, Dharma King Taklung Tsetul, and Dharma King Chogye Trichen, all three of whom were masters of the Dalai Lama; Dharma King Jigdal Dagchen Sakya, who is the supreme leader of the Sakya sect; Regent Dharma King Shamarpa, who was a master of the 17th Karmapa; Regent Dharma King and National Master Goshir Gyaltsab, who is the Sutra-Master of the 17th Karmapa; and others. These leaders are all publicly known in current Buddhist circles to be first-rate eminent monastics and people of great virtue from various Buddhist sects. All of them have individually issued an official document of recognition or corroboration to affirm the status of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. All such documents carry recognition authority according to Buddhism.
Because H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has received so many recognition and corroboration certificates, which total more than any leader, patriarch, or rinpoche in the history of Buddhism has received, we are unable to list here all them one by one. We invite all of you to go online to read the following website: https://ibsahq.org/buddha-data-en?id=162. Many of the Dharma kings not only issued a recognition or corroboration in writing, they also recorded their recognition or corroboration through photo or video.
According to the Buddhist system of status-recognition, as long as two people with recognition authority who are Dharma kings, rinpoches, or lamas recognize the status of someone, then the status of the person recognized is established. However, as history evolved, the statuses of many people were established in Buddhist circles after they were recognized by just one rinpoche with recognition authority. For example, the popularly known 14th Dalai Lama only received one recognition from one person, Reting Rinpoche V. The 17th Karmapa likewise only received two recognitions. Moreover, the one or two recognitions they received came from within their own sects.
However, with respect to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, the situation is completely different. His Holiness the Buddha has received over 100 recognitions and corroborations, making Him the first person in the entire history of Buddhism to have received such a large number of recognitions. Furthermore, those recognitions and corroborations did not come from just a single Buddhist sect. Rather, they were recognition documents written and issued by the top leaders of all of Buddhism and each of the major Buddhist sects. The status recognized was not the status of a rinpoche; rather, it was the status of a Buddha (Buddha Vajradhara), which is the highest holy being in the entirety of Buddhism. A Buddha is the highest leader of all of Buddhism.
3.         The accomplishments of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III in the Five Vidyas are the highest in the history of Buddhism. Shakyamuni Buddha, the supreme leader of Buddhism in our Saha world, prescribed in the sutras that “Bodhisattvas must possess the Five Vidyas.” Since Bodhisattvas must possess the Five Vidyas, a Buddha must all the more be a champion in the Five Vidyas.
Perusing historical records, one finds that in the history of human civilization, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has been the only one who has reached the pinnacle of accomplishment in the Five Vidyas, whether in terms of worldly or transcendental accomplishments. His Holiness is the pre-eminent, tremendously holy one within Buddhism who truly meets the criteria of “perfect mastery of exoteric and esoteric Buddhism, and perfect accomplishments in the Five Vidyas” as prescribed by Shakyamuni Buddha!
The accomplishments of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III are too numerous to mention and too exceptional to describe. From poetry, iambic verses, odes and songs, to calligraphy and writing, to medicine and healing, to paintings and sculptures, to science, technology, and craftsmanship, to the teachings and principles of the Buddhist scriptures, to the absolute truth of the Dharma, and to the intrinsic reality of all phenomena, His Holiness has unimpeded proficiency and wondrous excellence in all of these fields without exception. No other person in history can be found who is comparable.
With respect to the Craftsmanship Vidya alone, there has been for many years an open offer with huge reward money for anyone who can duplicate certain sculptures or the painting “Dragon-Carp Playing in a Lotus Pond,” all of which were created by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. The reward is still being offered to this day, but no one has yet been able to reproduce such artworks through their own sculpting knife or painting brush! If you cannot duplicate it, you can ask someone else to attempt a successful duplication. If anyone is successful, we will admit right away that these were not the products of the enlightenment and wisdom of a Buddha!
Based on the real accomplishments mentioned above and the recognition and corroboration certificates that accord with the Buddhist system of recognition, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is a true Buddha. A Buddha is the original entity that all Buddhists take refuge in and learn from. The appellation of “Buddha” indicates one with the greatest and highest state of enlightenment in all of Buddhism. No patriarch or Dharma king within any sect of Buddhism is qualified to have a status above that of a Buddha! At present, in this world, there is only one Buddha who is the highest leader of Buddhism—H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. There is no other!
H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is inherently a Buddha. A Buddha is relied upon by all Buddhists as the one from whom they learn and receive teachings. Not only is His Holiness the Buddha the model that we at World Buddhism Association Headquarters follow and learn from, numerous other Buddhist organizations also rely on, follow, and learn from Him. Buddhists learn from the words of as well as the personal example set by His Holiness the Buddha. They have set up Dharma-listening centers to listen to and learn from the audio-recorded Dharma imparted by His Holiness the Buddha. Furthermore, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is the only tremendously holy being in the history of Buddhism who does not accept any offerings but simply serves all people voluntarily.
4.         Even though H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is an authentic Buddha, His point of view regarding His status has remained consistent. His Holiness the Buddha clearly expressed His attitude through His words that werepublished alongside the two contrasting photos showing the reversal of His appearance from old age to youthfulness. Which of those words carry the slightest element of self-boasting? H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III said,“Although the title of Buddha has been legally affirmed in my name, the name Dorje Chang Buddha III means nothing to me.I am not a Bodhisattva, not an Arhat, not a venerable one, not a Dharma king, and not a rinpoche. I am not a holy person. I am one with a heart of humility.”
5.         When H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was still living in China, because He propagated Buddhism and upheld justice and morality, He was persecuted by some people in the Chinese public security system. On August 1, 1999, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III came to the United States with a valid visa and subsequently settled down here. During the almost twenty years since then, His Holiness the Buddha has never returned to China even once. However, on June 20, 2002, the Chinese public security bureau in Shenzhen went so far as to groundlessly fabricate the allegation that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III “in April of 2000 in Shenzhen, sold a building to Liu Juan, defrauding Liu Juan out of RMB150 million.” They used this pretext to establish a case and started to persecute H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and some of His disciples.
Since H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was in the United States throughout the month of April 2000, how could He possibly have gone to Shenzhen to sell any building? On the contrary, it was some public security agents who bulldozed the only residence that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III had in China, without giving any compensation at all. Public security personnel took away more than 700 paintings and calligraphic works that were painstakingly created by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. As of today, there is no trace of the whereabouts of those artworks. Public security agents also arrested some disciples of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, changed their names, and secretly incarcerated them.
Meanwhile, since those public security personnel were afraid that the truth would come out about their embezzlement of paintings and calligraphic works by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, they made use of certain news media that were under their control. The day before the case against disciples of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was to be heard in court, newspaper media were already spreading rumors that the trial resulted in a guilty verdict and were defaming H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and His disciples as being bad people who defraud others. The public security personnel went even further by requesting INTERPOL to issue warrants for the arrest of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and some of His disciples.
However, after conducting an investigation into the case, INTERPOL found that the details of the case provided by the Chinese public security bureau were not true and that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and His disciples did not commit any fraud. On such basis, between October 30-31, 2008, during the 72nd Session of The Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files held in Leon, France, INTERPOL reached the decision to cancel thearrest warrant against H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Also, during the time INTERPOL was investigating this case, China likewise found out through investigation that the facts are that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III did not commit any fraud or crime. Therefore, on June 11, 2008, on its own initiative, China requested that INTERPOL withdrawal the arrest warrant against H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. His Holiness the Buddha underwent thorough investigation by INTERPOL and was found not to have committed any crime. China requested the withdrawal of the arrest warrant. This clearly demonstrates how law-abiding H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is and how morally pure His conduct is. That is why He was found to be innocent of any crime or offense!
However, such a holy and pure person was not commended for this. On the contrary, a small number of people who do not understand the truth have assisted evildoers in defaming H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Does this kind of conduct have any morality to speak of? What kind of lowly character do such people have? Does this kind of news media have any credibility? Although the arrest warrant for H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was canceled a long time ago, those who embezzled paintings and calligraphic works of His Holiness the Buddha continue to circulate the cancelled, nulled arrest warrant on the internet and in newspapers to delude the public and prevent the case from being re-opened for investigation.
To minimize the likelihood of people being duped, an inquiry was made to INTERPOL through legal channels. In response to that inquiry, on November 19, 2009, INTERPOL specially issued a letter to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. The letter clearly states that China requested that the arrest warrant against H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III be cancelled and that such arrest warrant no longer exists. INTERPOL also notified all of its member countries that they cannot use this arrest warrant as a pretext to detain H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.
Attached hereto is the official letter issued by INTERPOL. It must be clearly stated that this letter from INTERPOL uses the name Yungao Yi. Spelled according to the Pinyin transliteration system, this is the secular name that was used by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III more than twenty years ago while He was in China. Also, the lower-left corner of this letter from INPERPOL originally contained the residential address of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. For the sake of security and privacy, the address has been omitted. However, every other part of the entire letter is the identical copy of the original. Not even one word was altered.
This is the truth about the INTERPOL arrest warrant against H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III! We ask all of you to think about something—Is H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III a person of noble morality or a villain who has committed a crime? Additionally, multiple times over the past many years, the so-called victims in this fabricated case—Liu Juan and Lau Pak Hun—have separately written statements or held press conferences proving that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III not only never swindled them, He instead selflessly helped them. H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is a good person who selflessly benefits the public.
6.         With respect to the recognitions of the status of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, the letter from INTERPOL, evidence that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was persecuted, and other information, please go online to the website https://ibsahq.org/buddha-en. Just as we did in the past, we at World Buddhism Association Headquarters will take the teachings of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and Namo Shakyamuni Buddha as our foundation and will guide Buddhists all over the world to learn and practice the Buddha Dharma so that they will become good people who are unselfish, benevolent, and law-abiding, who contribute to society and have happy family lives, who eventually realize the true suchness of Dharma-nature, and who attain liberation.

  Kevin V. Hunt
Scouting Historian, Author, Blogger , Speaker, Scouting Veteran, and Camp Director
Recently I had the unique opportunity to showcase some Scouting history at our stake’s Family History Discovery Day.  I thought that Scouting and family history actually fit well together.  But, a couple of people came to my display tables and acted a bit confused.  A couple of people said under their breath – not knowing that I was listening – “What does Scouting have to do with family history?”  Good question!
Months before this event I had been invited to be a part of the steering committee for this big stake and community event.  I joined the planning committee wearing two hats.  One was in my role as the Stake Historian.  The committee wanted to have the event well documented in our history for this year.  My other requested role (by the committee chairman) was to show some of the Scouting history of the stake.  Sure …  I could do that!
My display tables – and I had three of them – one for Scouting and two for general personal and family history were kind of unique.  And I admit, they did stand out a bit.
This was a major family history conference and displays were plenteous in the large gymnasium and conference room – in the historic Interstake Center in Mesa, Arizona.  Many local genealogical and family history groups or organizations had been invited to participate.  Most of their displays had a computer as their main feature.  And on these computers, volunteers or companies showed off their latest and greatest tools to do family history research. My Scouting table was full of “Scouting stuff” that I have collected through the years.  So, the tables did catch a few eyes – but I think a great many people enjoyed browsing it all.
First I’d like to take a moment to define “family history”.  When most folks think of family history, I believe they think of Grandma or Great Aunt Clara – who spent their lives researching the family lines and creating pedigree charts and family group records.  That is actually how I got started.  I was age twelve – when I took up most of my life hobbies and interests – many of them through Scouting leaders.  At twelve, I was put into a Sunday School genealogy class that went for six weeks.  That was kind of a short class but it was enough to get me hooked.  And so for most of my teen years – when I wasn’t doing Scouting – I was doing family history research and created many of those charts which I put into a “Book of Remembrance”.  (And Grandma Augusta Hunt and I were a team!)
Over the years, I have come to learn that family history goes way beyond all those charts and family trees.  I believe that family history really is creating a record of our lives and those of our ancestors.  The family history I have enjoyed the most is when I have been able to find photos and histories for the people on those charts.  That is when their lives have come alive for me (even if they have been dead for decades).   Also, I now believe that each one of us has the opportunity and even the responsibility to create records of our life and times here on earth.  And these records can be for ourselves as well as for our current and future posterity.  The Book of Revelation in the Bible says (Rev. 20:12), “… and the books were opened, And another book was opened, which is the book of life …”  Joseph Smith expanded on that theme when he taught that “the books spoken of must be the books which contained the record of their works, and refer to the records which are kept on earth.  And the book which was the book of life is the record which is kept in heaven …”  (D&C 128:7)  And then in the next verse, he says, “… Whatsoever you record on earth shall be recorded in heaven, and whatsoever you do not record on earth shall not be recorded in heaven.”
Wow!  That is pretty strong.  So, yes, records of our lives really are an opportunity and a responsibility.  And so, with that background, I believe that we should work hard to create records of our lives – all facets of our lives.  But, those records don’t need to be limited to paper and computer files.  I think that there are a myriad of ways that we can record our personal histories and those can be different for each individual and family.  I would suggest that each one of us figure out some way to use and show our talents in the preservation of our histories.
Our histories can include various chapters of our lives – such as our spouse and families, our education, our life’s work or vocation, our hobbies and interests, and much more.  As I look back at my own life, I realize that most of my life has included involvement in Scouting in one way or another.  That is probably true for most of us.  If we were Cub Scouts and Scouts in our youth, and then served for even a few years as a Scouting volunteer, we soon see that Scouting has been much of our lives – and so well worth documenting as a major chapter of our lives.  If it is worth doing, it is worth recording.  And that applies to Scouting.
So, how to do it?  What can we do to document our Scouting history and heritage?  There really is no set way to go about it.  Use your imagination and begin to create some interesting records of your Scouting lives.  It doesn’t matter what you do … just do something!  And begin to do it now.
I might be a bit overboard with history and records and Scouting heritage, but here are some ideas that I have done.  I am not saying that you should do them all.  Pick a few of them for yourself and begin to document your Scouting life and times.  Here are some items that were a part of my Scouting family history display that day:
Personal Journal:  I have blogged on this subject many times.  But, with a personal journal with daily entries for over forty years, I have much written about Scouting events and good times that I have been a part of through the years.  And it is such fun to go back and read those entries.  It is almost like doing it all over again.
This past summer my wife and I were on the staff at Camp Newfork – operated by the Trapper Trails Council.  I wrote extensive journal entries of the summer experience and added many photos to them.   I later blogged these journal entries on The Scouting Trail with the full series summarized in the blog It was Quite the Summer at Camp New Fork.
Walking Sticks:  This may sound unique, but I have a hobby of carving walking sticks.  I don’t just carve them to be carving but they actually contain a lot of history.  I try to carve a new stick at or for each camp that I go to – and each one has carved into it memories about the particular camp.  These are great conversation pieces with my children and grandchildren – and Scouts everywhere.
Framed Awards:  As I completed my youth phase of Scouting, my mother had me collect all of my badges and she put them into a nice frame for my future enjoyment.  She made one for my Cub Scout awards and another for my Boy Scouting years.
Neckerchief Blanket:   My wife did a great thing for me.  She got all of the neckerchiefs that I had earned or received through the years (including those from when I was a Cub Scout, Scout, camps, and for everything since).  She sewed these all together into a giant king-sized (at least) blanket.  And then she sewed the patches from the various events – onto the appropriate neckerchief.   So, there is a multitude of neckerchiefs and a couple of hundred patches.
Excel Spreadsheet:  I created a spreadsheet to document my years of Scouting service.  I have a line for each Scouting position and then columns for the positions, when I served, the unit number, the chartered institution, people involved in that role, and more.  When I wanted to provide documentation for a major service award, I went back through my journals and recorded information for each position through the years.
Slide Show:  I went through the house and collected my Scouting photographs from their various hiding places in closets, drawers, boxes, etc.  I then sorted these by date and experience.  I then created Word documents for the various Scouting events through my life.  I could have used PowerPoint to create these but didn’t.  On each page, I had a title, sometimes a brief description of the event, people, etc.  And I scanned and inserted into each page four or five photos.  And after I created these pages, I then saved each page as a PDF document.  This was a major feature of entertainment for a Jubilee Celebration which I recently staged for myself.  I showed the slide show at the event but also printed each page and had it bound into a nice book for me and for my posterity.
Scouting Book Collection:  Scouting has changed much through the years – yet it is so much the same as ever.  And through the years, a plethora of books and handbooks have been generated.  I have a major handbook collection.  It has my old “Lion” Cub Scout book, my own Scout Handbook, a 1928 “Rally Book” and more.  I even have a collection which includes every edition of the Scout Handbook.  My son, Rusty, and I created a beautiful red oak with glass doors display case to keep these in.  It is magnificent!
Kevin Hunt Scout Handbook Collection in Red Oak Frame
Awards:  I am not one to tout or brag about awards that I have received, but I do have them collected in a single spot/box for my own enjoyment.
Uniforms:  I have kept my uniforms that I have worn through the years.  And some of these are really “vintage” now.    I have my old Cub Scout uniform, several of my Scout uniforms, and many uniforms, jackets, hats, etc. that I have worn through the years.  When our first daughter was born, my mom even took one of the old uniforms and created a little girl dress that Jackie wore in parades (when we marched with Scouts) and to other places.
Photos:  Take photos at every event.  You never know when you will want these for a slide show or other special event.  Mark the photos with the name of the event, when it was, who is in the photo, etc.  And with today’s electronic technology, there are a multitude of great programs or ways to organize and store your photos.
Court of Honor Programs:  I created PowerPoint presentations with a lot of photos for each of my three sons on the occasion of their Eagle Scout court of honor programs.  These have become valued treasures for them and for me.
Books from Journals and Personal Experiences:  I go a bit beyond what most folks would, but I have compiled several books from my Scouting experiences as recorded in my journals and personal memories.  I am just now beginning to market and publish these.
Troop Reunions and Histories:  I have been the catalyst to stage several troop reunions through the years.  “155 … The Best Alive”.  At these reunions I take a lot of photos and have old Scout friends record a paragraph or two of their memories.  And then I have compiled all of these into a history of the troop through the years.   I have created a mini book or history and have shared this with those who came to the reunions – and any others that I’ve run into beyond the reunions.
Letters and Certificates:  I am only about half way through this project but I collected all of the certificates, thank you letters, correspondence, and anything paper about my Scouting times and am scanning these and putting them into a book for my own use – and for my own posterity.  I will create a printed book – or book of originals for myself – but after it is scanned, I can store it and share it with my posterity.
Traditions:  These are not always visible (though you can use the ideas presented here to make them such), but it is important to have strong family Scouting traditions.  Keep these alive and keep doing them.  For instance … in our family we have a long-standing tradition of becoming Eagle Scouts.  And in the case of me and my sons, we each have maintained the tradition of each receiving three or four palms beyond Eagle.  Have traditional events, outings, and programs with traditional family or Scouting friends.  Document you and your group doing these things.
Oral Histories:  Set yourself – or your Scouting parents, wife and children – down and have them tell stories of their Scouting experiences.  With today’s electronics there are so many options for recording your histories and memories.  FamilySearch.com has some great ways to permanently record your history and your photos.  Check it out!  You might want to interview and record your old Scoutmaster, Scouting Friends and troop-mates, and others who have been a big part of your Scouting experience.  (And don’t forget to do this for yourself!)
Well, again, you may not be able to do all of these things.  I have done them … but that it is me and who and what I am.  My challenge is to look at your own life of Scouting (and other) experiences and then find the best way(s) – that is so you – and which uses your abilities and talents (and the help of others) to record those great Scouting moments.  And when you start doing this, you’ll probably catch the spirit of the whole history thing and you’ll want to do more and more.
And so, back to our original question:  What does Scouting have to do with family history?  I think it has a lot to do with it …  Scouting is a big part of your life so it deserves to be a part of your personal, family and troop histories.  Find ways to get the two together … and you will have much joy and happiness through bringing them together.  You’ll be glad that you did it – and so will your posterity and Scouting friends.  Scouting with family history … what a novel and wonderful idea!
And I would love to help you personally to explore ways to do all of this.  Feel free to contact me!  I would also enjoy hearing or seeing what you come up with for yourself!
Best wishes along your Scouting Trails …  Kevin
