end of march is crazy for writing like i have a 1.5k essay im doing today and tomorrow, a 2k word essay im doing wednesday and a 1k word research proposal im doing friday. and in the remaining week of the month i am WILLINGLY going to finish taob (~10k OPTIMISTICALLY) and make a solid start on tams (~5k-10k depending on how well writing goes). like yes girl write around 20k words worth of MULTIPLE PROJECTS in a handful of days there is no way this can end badly at all

I have! Tho I think it's somewhere buried in my old posts lol so I'll use this as an excuse for some exposition:

Maya is from the Ostwick Circle. She's always been a ~weak mage and struggled w honing her magic and ability to cast, tho she excelled in potions. It was p obvious to everyone including herself that she wouldn't pass the Harrowing so she chose to become Tranquil.

This becomes a point of contention with her friends (one of them is one of my inquisitors, Gabe Trevelyan), who are heartbroken with her choice, but eventually decide they will be there for her no matter what. When she becomes Tranquil, they take protect her and stay by her side, especially because one of her friends is Lord Otranto's sister, Magda (an oc I made up too), and she uses her family's nobility to make sure nothing bad ever happens to Maya.

When the Circles fell, Maya and her friends were on the run, attempting to find someplace safe as they couldn't get to Antiva to Magda's family. A fade rift spews out some demons, but also spirits, and one passes through Maya and reverses her Tranquility. This experience was A LOT and deserves its own post, as Maya has been a tranquil for 8 or so years by then.

Maya and her friends end up joining the Inquisition when Gabe recruits the mages. Maya, Magda and their friend Langdon decide to join other mages posted to Griffon Wing Keep to help with potion making and healing tents - and that's how they end up at the Western Approach.

Her and Rylen were friends to lovers lol, my fave type of dynamic. He was one of the soldiers who helped escort the group of mages to Griffon Wing Keep. Understandably, Maya was nervous and uneasy and Rylen was especially kind to the group and made them feel at ease. Then, they always saw each other at the Keep, and since Maya is shy, he helped her feel included whenever there was any type of get together or "fun nights" with the staff. They also bond over having siblings they haven't seen in a really long time.

Rylen helps Maya break out of her shell a lil and Rylen finds it easy to be his true self around Maya ❤️

I need to talk about Perihelion more. I think about him a lot, but it rarely gets written down (4am is a good time, right?). Anyways so!

As an Ontological Cartographer, Art is very familiar with Parabola – it's always been a place of refuge, protection, and wonder for him. But coming up with what he looks like in the mirror was a difficult exercise – Perihelion isn't self-reflective or self‐aware in the slightest, but he also lives a very uninhibited life and as a rule, doesn't lie to himself. Complex self-deception is Effort he just doesn't have the executive function for. Which makes a parabola reflection a little difficult, when there aren't really any hidden facets of the self to show. EXCEPT. There is.

Perihelion when he first arrived in the Neath was a very different person to how he is now – much more cautious, very risk-averse, a subtle player of long games and a mover in the shadows. Then he discovered partying and social circles with cool laid back people that didn't care if he did gender wrong and it was so over from there. The Capricious Socialite was born. But the thing is. That part of Perihelion that knows how to look at the long term, that can be subtly manipulative and calculating is still there. Art doesn't like being that person, it makes him miserable and exhausted and stressed. But just in case. Just in case things ever go south and he needs to relearn how to be careful again, that other, older Perihelion keeps watch from beyond the mirror. (what? says Art. Don't you know I'm immune to consequences and never going to die?)

And when the sixth city falls and it becomes rapidly clear that Consequences do in fact Really Exist For Real, Art reaches back out to his old Great Game contacts and starts scheming the survival of the seventh city (by the time he moves on enough from mourning London Paris is already doomed). He maintains the public face of his old image, but the real Fith City Perihelion lies only in the mirror, in the Waswood and on the Smoking Shore, happy and carefree and probably wearing some stupidly bright fashiony outfit.

So like I love how everyone expected them to not get well w each other yk like people THOUGHT they would be on each others throats, and nando would commit warcrimes against lance etc etc(Especially after last years Austin incident yeahh....)WHILE they were actually ALREADY on good terms in 2021(the recent gifs that showed lance being like a teenager w crush ykyky)(plus I do remember photos of them interacting just casually) and before that yk when nando congratulated lance on his first podium in baku(which I'll never get out of my head gladly)

And like NOW they are also so well w each other ESPECIALLY now that they are teammates. And its NICE and they are COMFY plus WHAT HAPPENED IM BAHRAIN OFC. And now wih nando casually making lance photos..they are so comfortable. Like aughh.

Well I think it's funny because, as you mentioned, one of the only pre-2023 moments of strollonso I remember distinctly is when they had the collision during the US gp 😭 and I feel like everyone saw that and were like "oh god Nando is gonna kill him when they're teammates", and then a similar situation kinda happened again at the very first gp when Lance hit the back of Nando but when Nando found out, he's just like "okay :)"

I wonder though sometimes what they'd be like if the AMR23 was like the prev one. Because I do think Nando does actually like Lance, but also I don't think you can deny that Nando's podiums are indeed a buffer. Kinda like him being like "anything you can do to me is literally nothing because I have a great car and I'm doing better than I have in years", like bro is on top of the world after so long, and it feels like he's gotten a second wind where nothing can really touch him or bother him.

I hate how everyone uses that "Lance is the owner's son, so of course Fernando will treat him nicely" argument. Like yeah that's a factor, but I feel like I see it more as Nando appreciating Lance bcs he factors into why Nando has a good car and a good team in the first place. I think tho my fav strollonso plot line is Nando being like "ugh ill put up w him I guess", but then he ends up having such a good car and finds out in the process that Lance is more than he ever considered(like in this fic ) And also the narrative of Nando being a very different, supportive teammate as compared to most other Lance has had. I like that they probably came into being teammates with certain assumptions, but now look at how comfy they are with each other!! Enough to tease each other is such public ways, like Lance saying certain things in interviews and Nando with his socmed. It's very fun!

BUT YEAH OH MY GOD THAT CLIP OF THEM WITH LANCE BEING SO TOUCHY AND SHOVEY WITH HIM!!!! people need to look back at older clips like that and the others you mentioned before they make assumptions about why they are the way they are >:(

Made my list for all the things to chat with my new primary care doctor. and it’s a list. 😭 It’s my first primary care doctor in the states since I was on my dad’s insurance in hs/college. I’m like weirdly tiny toy dog shaking levels of nervous which is really frustrating. I know what’s going to happen for the most part, it’s not like the annuals I did in Korea where I just got shuffled from room to room to room without anyone talking to me.

fellas I have good news - I picked up a diary and actually write in there to work through my complicated feelings instead of blasting them on main! (I say as I will vent a little bit in the tags but its a positive vent this time around)
