This card is brighter than the one I usually do- might even be the most colorful of the whole deck, so far! Which- fitting. Today, let's welcome Charlie Morningstar and Vaggie, double figures for the Ten of Cups!

(Now usually, the card also have one or two more people on it; I thought about adding Pentious, but our snake should have his card soon enough. Therefore, it's just the girls.)

Explanations under the cut, as well as a poll for the next card to draw, and the rest of the Hazbin tarot cards!

Upright, the Ten of Cups embodies happiness, joy, and emotional contentment. You have created an abundance of love and happiness in your life, and you now share this love with others, expanding your heart even more. This fits Charlie and what she created with her hotel, supported by Vaggie- together, they are the start of it all. You are now surronded by your loved ones (it's a fucking happy day in hell!), with whom you share a powerful and deep connection. You support one another, and you help other to reach their highest potential- on the path to redemption! Most of all, you do it because seeing others happy is the greatest joy you could have. It's the "happy family" card by excellence, as well as a positive card for romantic relationships- you're in a blissful one, if that's what you're looking for, to the point you may believe that you ar soulmates destined to be with one another (I do love them, mh, mh). When the card appears in your reading, it's time for you to take a step back, and appreciate everything you accomplished. You went through hard time, but look at that! You can do this, now we know it, and you actually did. Follow your heart, says the card, and follow your inner sens of Good.

Reversed, the card brings more subtility. You can see the Upright reading as mostly Charlie's idealistic view on the hotel and on redemption; but with the reversed Ten of Cups come the struggles. You may feel disconnected and disengaged from your loved ones, like your estranged father and your missing mother. You try to connect, but each times, something goes wrong, and the distance between you grows. Why does he forgets everything you say? Can't he pay attention? Why is he not calling more often? Or maybe you're afraid to trust, and you're keeping some secrets close to your chest. You don't open up enough, and you create, without meaning to, a distance with others, with her. You're too rash and too impulsive, but you mean well- surely, they can see that? It may have an impact on your relationship; you need to realise that nothing is perfect, and every relationship has its ups and downs. The Ten of Cups invite you to seek out a common ground with your loved ones, and rebuild the relationship from there. Talk to your father about why, exactly, he's so reluctant to help; talk to your partner about who you are, and where you came from. Open the lines of communication and be ready to hold space for one another. Be compassionate, understanding, and respectful. The card can also mean that you're starting to doubt yourself, and what you are doing. Is it really worth it? Are you up to the task? Are you letting other people down? You have to rethink those questions. Think about what makes you happy, what you believe in, and bring back your focus to that.

And that's it for today! I'm planning to do at least three more Hazbin cards- if the fixation does not die by then. Not that it shows any sign of slowing down, oh boy- they are all so fun to draw, too!

Anyway.

And with that, Hazbin Hotel verse is the most represented fandom in my whole deck of cards, right before Doctor Who. Ah!

I don't usually write gen, so I thought I'd put this plot bunny up in case anyone else was inspired by it:

Alastor is very familiar with tarot due to it being popular in his family growing up.

So when Charlie/Angel/whoever brings a deck home and starts making a mess of things (according to Alastor, that is—you can't really screw up tarot in real life, there are no rules, just suggestions), he can't stop himself from stepping in and helping teach them the "correct" way to do it.

Everyone is astounded by his readings and this is what he wanted to avoid. Now everyone is hounding him for more. Even though he keeps telling them it's not magic, it's just what they want to hear.

I would love to see a skeptic Alastor who doesn't think there's any real ability to predict the future, just advice and things to think about.

He normally would only read for people like Rosie and Mimzy if they had a problem they really needed insight on.

However, in universe, obviously magic does exist, so real fortune telling powers would be cool too. (I would also love both of these ideas combined where Alastor is so done with this shit but every time he tries to say something too ridiculous to be real, it comes true, to his dismay, making everyone even more convinced.)

At this point, it's unclear whether Vaggie was once a human or if she's a heaven-born angel, but I would love to see her bonding with Alastor over this from her human history. Stuff like where they both see the same card come up for a question and wince at the same time. (And also fighting over it—different cultures and traditions absolutely have different and sometimes contradictory ideas about this stuff).

Angel would also be a good candidate for some sort of background with tarot due to his Italian heritage. Like, maybe not knowing it but having some sort of respect for it.

I would also love to see other people's ideas for what types of decks the different characters would have.

Would Charlie have something super modern and cute? Would Alastor have something tattered and traditional, or would he absolutely not care what he was reading with as long as you put a deck of cards in his hands? Would Angel have something sexy? Would Vaggie have something inherited that she doesn't let anyone else touch? Would Husk have some superstitions about cartomancy?

Who's got the minimalist deck? Who's got the gory one? Who's got the deck that's absolutely destroyed and missing cards and yet comes out with the wildest, most accurate statements? (Niffty.) Who does a detailed complex spread every time and who just pulls a couple cards randomly?

I also feel like witchy little Velvette would be another good candidate for being into this. (I feel like she's the one with way too many decks, and constantly doing readings for a desperate Valentino, while Vox just Doesn't Get It.)

This whole idea also tickles me because one of the inspirations for Alastor's name was clearly Aleister Crowley, a prominent English occultist who was active in the same era as Alastor and published a tarot deck.

The second card according to last week's poll- Husker, our dear old cat man, as The Hermit! It's also the eleventh card for the Hazbin/Helluva fandom. Which is- the most consistent I ever been in drawing for a fandom? Hurray!

The next one, Adam, is already decided- but I'm planning to do two more cards before maybe, eventually, taking a break. So, before we go under the cut for the explanations for the choice of card...

Back to the grumpy old man!

The Hermit Upright is a card strongly linked to self-discovery and inner wisdom. It invites you to retreat into your private world and experience a deep sense of instrospection- a journey you have to do alone, to find you inner guiding light, and choose the next steps you'll have to take.

It might seem strange to chose Husk to represent it- but as much as his character seems stand-offish and disgruntled, he does strick me as someone who has done a lot of self-reflecting, and is able to see each other characters' situations with a clarity that no one else, in the show, seems capable of. He is aware of who he is, of what mistakes he make: this is a man who knows himself, and who finds wisdom in his own flaws.

And much as the Hermit of the card, he's a man who walked on this path alone (thinking that no one could relate- prefering the quiet and the solitude to the company) until he reached the point when he was ready to let others in, albeit in a small, careful way. Finding, despite himself, a place in the small group of the hotel, and a soulmate in Angel.

But the Hermit card often appears when you are at a pivotal point in your life, and maybe considering a new direction. Would that be, for example... redemption? Now, Husker is not quite there yet- but it's undeniable that his mere involvement with the hotel places him on a pivotal point in life, and one that encourages him to deepen his self-examination. This time to also accept the good in himself, and re-evaluate his personnal goals.

Finally, the Hermit may appear in your life as a spiritual mentor- one that may be an expert in his own right (a wise old bartender, who've seen it all), but who will teach you to find your answers within yourself. Which. Loser, Baby.

Okay, it's a lot of talking already. Bear with me, we're now going on the Reverse Hermit.

For as much as I feel like Husk's character is the most in-tune with himself, the struggles is still undeniable. The Reversed Hermit, therefore, encourages you to search deep within your sould, to help you find your way again, to find your way out of the bottle, and focus on rebuilding yourself. You may be damaged, but you can still go on with your life, and improve your situation; it all starts by working on yourself. Be careful not to isolate yourself too much, too. You should not be fully cutting yourself off from others, like a literal Hermit; do not underestimate the value of the connections you can form with people around you. And really, our dear Husker is getting there!

The Hermit Reversed can also indicate an unwelcome isolation in your relationship: one person may want to be alone or withdraw from the relationship, while the other wants to deepen the connection. You will need to respect each other's request for space (not by pushing your partner off his chair, Husker), but also be there to support as appropriate.

And that's it for today! We'll see each other again tomorrow, when I'll drop the first man himself- Adam, as the King of Pentacles. I hope this silly bird would apreciate the irony.

This is not, actually, the first time I drew the Hermit- but the first one, eh, I really did not like it. So, Husker becomes the official Hermit of the deck!

SPOILERS FOR HAZPIN HOTIEL AND TAROT RAMBLE AHEAD

So I found this tweet on Twitter and I use to do predict reading (like tarot) but use poker when I was younger and just got back seriously study tarot

And I see something fishy that I was like…why it’s 3 spade?….

Let start with what card I’m seeing from poker card to tarot

9 of pentacles, 3 of sword, Knight of pentacles, King of swords

Just want to say first that I’m not a professional, I just like to study it.

In my study on Minor Arcana (base on everyday events)

♥️ - cups (emotion/relationships)

♠️ - sword (thoughts/ communication)

��️- pentacles (money/material world)

♣️- wands (passion/action)

Lets start on nine of pentacles

Pentacles are the material, money, job, status.

Which suited for Husk’s old role as Overlord

The the man with power over material good like money in his gamble and his role as overlord

His status is high and fulfilling

Next is three of sword

Yep a heartbreak, sorrow and grief of his statue as an overlord, when he lose his soul after his deal with Al

It also lose to Al’s element too, bc Husks was too prideful & Al ready win by being in his head, aka thoughts for the sword/spade

Now we get to the Jack and King

Which I will connect to the court cards, which are the reflection of personality and roles in the relationship.

I honestly debating on this one for a bit

Due to from what I see other people use Knight for Jack but I personally see Jack as a Page. But poker card only have Jack, Queen, king. I have to lump page/knight together

The reason why it hard to pick bc both page/Knight work for King & Queen but taking orders in different way.

Page is more so a new beginning of the level, new in his element which reflect Husk as a lower level sinners thanks to his role under Al. It line up with how I see Jack

But I also will take back the page argument bc Knight is more suited to Husk as Al’s Jack.

Knight of Pentacle are more grounded but still more skill than page, calculating with his power over finance and giving service to the king (Al) & Queen (Charlie as Princess).

Knight show that he have experience but still under other people. Some people might try to find more the card meaning of these but I found that reading base on card as their role try to give advice is more proactive way to read cards.

Which overall, it very suited Husk as Knight

Now to the obvious

King of Sword

The man who have power over Husk in rank & also use minor part of the card to win, spade/sword aka thoughts

Which show his ability to get into other’s hand as the king & him got through Husk with the deal.

He is king of sword through and through.

also the king of sword is shown to be in the open field but still have a stable throne & sword in hand ready. Show his status as an overlord.

Btw card meaning that not just involved in roles, King of Sword can be mean authority & reverse as misuse of power & manipulation

that’s it

I doubt no one gonna look into my tarot/poker sharing bs, I don’t think the crew intentionally connect it poker tarot & just goes with regular poker symbolism

But the 3 of sword/spade is too fucking close that I have to mention
