Au where everything is the same except Yoichi is the Peerless Thief.
Harima Oji still existed, he and Yoichi were just separate thieves and knew each other. They had the brother dynamic that All For One wished he had.
The reason why Yoichi wasn't tagged as the Peerless Thief was because he willingly gave up his title to Harima. He was the better thief anyways.
As he says that he thinks about the mad heists Harima pulled, and he can't get over the heist involving stealing his brother's Coat. Not any other old coat, The Coat. The one that his brother would flaunt and practically one of the telling signs that he was All For One. To steal from the King of the Underworld...that was one hell of an achievement.
At the same time as Yoichi goes and gives the title, Harima just thinks back to all the times Yoichi would steal not by grand heists but by simple words and through natural charisma. It's almost scary how good he was at getting people wrapped around his finger and showing him all their valuables.
And then in the corner we have Second and Third accidentally getting infatuated with that white-haired thief from the bar. God he was so hot and then he stole both of their phones and wallets and then he helped them with All For One and they both have it baaaad.
Meanwhile All For One is trying to figure out where his brother is going whenever he goes out with his friend. I bet that friend is getting Yoichi in so much trouble. God the moment he finds where Yoichi is going he’s going to place a hit on that guy and then vault his brother. His brother, doing anything that is beyond the image All For One made in his head? Hah! Impossible! He’s helpless after all!

Tumblr media
Yeah it's confirmed. I'm not at all ready for this
Over all, the episode was rather shoddy for something that got shown at the jump fest, but I got some Compress content so all is well.

I just want to talk about the curious connection between Dabi and Mr. Compress.
When MVA starts, we have 6 members of the LoV, these 6 are the most recognized members. While everyone in the LoV are connected because they share a lot of between themselves, each member have their partner. This duos are thematically connected, their characters share more specific things and usually, their best relationship in the LoV are with this partner. These duos are formed around the main 3 villains: Toga and Jin/Twice (the most notorious duo), Tomura/Tenko and Shuichi/Spinner, and Dabi/Touya and Mr. Compress/Atsuhiro.
A lot was and is talked about the first two duos, so let's focus on the third one.
I think it's not a surprise that despite the fact that Touya didn't want to get along a lot with the LoV, he did. And the one who weirdly had and has a better relationship (the best Touya can do) is Atsuhiro. The two mysterious ones.
What they have in common?
Theater/Dance theme, performance as the core of how they show themselves: While Atsuhiro is more "dramatical" and elegant, we know Touya, when it comes to showing before his family, he does his act, certain poses, phrases, etc, it's more like gothic literature btw (he is like Frankenstein's monster) Both share this theater theme/aesthetic, it's obvious, it's the first trait that its presented about Atsuhiro. While in Touya's case, is something we see later.
The family heritage and believing they are an extension of certain relative, the core of their stories: Core piece of their stories is about the accomplishment of his family heritage, the importance of their family ties.
Touya puts emphasis on being Endeavor's son, explaining that he does what he does because of being his son. He is Endeavor's projection, his continuation, his extension.
Atsuhiro puts emphasis on being Oji Harima's descendant, explaing he does what he does because he has to do what Oji Harima did. He has his blood, he sees himself as his continuation, his extension.
Atsuhiro himself highlights that Touya and him share this thing about being part of certain lineage.
Both let their lifes be about this relative, making it the core of their decisions and actions.
Of course it's extremely different what they lived but the point here is the essential part of the influence of family heritage in their lives.
New identity: Easy, Touya died, Dabi was born.
Atsuhiro before was a magician, an entertainer. But now he is Mr. Compress.
They new identity are their choice, it isn't a reference to someone else, and it's not only a new name and look, it's a whole new life purpose, their new self.
Both hid their true appearances, and revealing themselves is a big show.
Dabi's Dance and Final Performance: Touya's revelation and Atsuhiro's escape "act" are events that happened next to each other. In fact, one is ch. 290 and the other ch. 294. Atsuhiro's revelation follows Touya's. He starts the show with his dance, and Atsuhiro finish it with the League's escape. It all start with Touya first move of presenting himself as Touya Todoroki and ends with Atsuhiro's reverence. And they use the same stage for their show.
Both chapters have this curious theme about staging and their performances. For Touya its the beginning of his show, while for Atushiro, its the final. It's literally in the titles, the show theme is so important.
In these chapters, both reveal their real appearance and present their family ties and how important they are for who they are now.
Another detail is that the last one that Atsuhiro compressed is Touya, giving him something like a high five, looking like some takeover for Touya. Now he is the principal performer, the principal entertainer, it's his show, the beginning of it.
Self destruction as their show: Atsuhiro mutilated himself making the great escape for his friends. He didn't stop until Mirio punched him, but even being hurt, the show didn't stop. Touya is burning himself even more for his show. In Dabi's Dance he burned more parts of his skin, and during this final arc, he looks like a corpse, and it's crucial to his "show", his last show. Also, both do this using their quirks.

Woomy AU:
Ok, The Squid Sisters are Idol Heroes.
Off the Hook, I imagine are heroes too. If not Pearl is a support company heiress, with Marina being a Support Inventor. And they're dating because of course.
And Deep Cut are Vigilantes, following Harima Oji's doctrine.
Yeah these all make sense

Based on his relation to stress-to-strength converter Rikiya Yotsubashi, and the fact that he was loved and feared, what do you think was the Quirk - sorry, Meta Ability, or Chikara Yotsubashi, AKA Destro?
I know Destro is blank slate when it comes to his quirk or Meta-ability, but did you ever have ideas on what ability he would have compared to his descendant Re-Destro?
I mean, I have done several Quirk Marriages involving "Stress". Any one of those could apply to him. If you wanted to make a Quirk for him, you could just make it "Stress" but applied to other people, raising rage in their hearts. Though realistically speaking, the two's Quirks would be nothing alike. Because Destro is pretty far back in the timeline as his mother helped established the term "Quirk" and he's an villain legend on par with Oji Harima, he's got to be at least five generations removed. With all the other Quirks in play, they should be barely comparable.

Ask game for Worst Time please! Have some treats!🧁🧁🧁🍭🍭🍭🍭🍬🍬🍬🍬🍫🍫🍫🍫🍩🍩🍩🍩🍪🍪🍪🍪🧋🧋🧋🧋🍡🍡🍡🍡
Oh sweet food. Anyways Anon sorry it took so long. Here the Worst Time stuff for ya.
1. All the Time Travelers use fake names. They all use fake names because you know. Let's not destroy the timeline by introducing us early. Shouto of course uses the name "Dabi", after the OC that his older brother Touya made when he was younger. It seems like a great way to honor his memory. (In the background you can see the League wheezing in laughter and fully encouraging Shouto to use that name while Dabi is just having the worst time of his life)
2. The Timeline works in a way that Back to the Future timeline kind of works. You change one thing and you kind of change the whole entire present day/future. So the moment the time travelers get back to the present day, things have changed. Not so much that canon really diverged much but enough for them to notice that things are different. Another thing is that they all are going to periodically get memories of the new timeline version. So basically now they have two set of memories, Original Timeline and New Timeline. They sometimes confuse the two together so at some point they just have a huge ass board of the timelines.
3. Harima Oji is the grumpiest person ever. And what I mean by that is that the first thing he does when he sees the Time Travelers is judge them incredibly for getting injured and when he saw Sako coughing from just the shock of meeting his ancestor he said "Can you tell your friend to stop dying. I can't help people who are dying." He's still dramatic but you know I would be grumpy too if someone went and dropped off a ton of people on your doorstep because, as Bruce said it "You're the best med student ever" ("Bruce we both dropped out before residency and I was going into the veterinarian field.")
4. Kudou in this au is loyal to All For One but in the original timeline he defected about two months after Yoichi gets vaulted. This did not happen and will not happen until a compromise is made and now Kudou has essentially taken Midoriya and Yoichi hostage while the rest of the group is just vibrating in terror and trying to get him to change sides fast and not get shot.
5. All For One has gained interest in Midoriya after their first meeting. All For One tried to rip Bakugou's Quirk away from him and Midoriya used all of One For All and demanded him to "Give it Back". Now All For One is interested and wants to vault him and Yoichi.

My Three Pillars of BNHA (and an invitation for you to share yours)
Tumblr media
The serious answer to this ask is here, and talks about the Friendship/Effort/Victory trifecta that's considered foundational to Shonen Jump manga.
The less serious answer is that my three pillars of BNHA are as follows:
O  The multifaceted take on quirk-based bigotry.  Heteromorphobia is the one I write about most, but this also includes villain quirk bias, quirk-based bio-essentialism, the condemnation of quirk-based behavioral traits, and the belittling of the agency of people with weak or no quirks.
O  The flawed society angle.  This includes things like the HPSC’s backroom corruption, the frank acknowledgement by heroes that the current age is one of repression, the critiques raised by historical figures like Destro and Harima Oji (and their subsequent villainization), and, by far the biggest contributor, the examination of Hero Society and its effects, such as the exacerbation of the Bystander Effect, the impossible demands placed on heroes, the way this false binary—Hero or bystander—sets people who can’t fit into either category up to fail, and how the system dehumanizes and abuses them once they do.
O  The Spinarakiya triumvirate.  While I like plenty of other characters, Shigaraki, Spinner and Re-Destro are my absolute favorites, the ones I find endlessly fascinating and keep coming back to.  I love them individually, their relationships with the world around them, their positions within their respective organizations, and all combinations of their relationships with each other, in pairs or as a trio.
--
So what are your Three Pillars are in BNHA? What are the three biggest factors in why you read/watch it? What are your three favorite aspects? What three things about the series do you think are most characteristic? If you're more into the character side of things, who are your three favorite characters or relationships?
Reblog and tell me all about it! Or, you know, make your own post and tag it #my three pillars or something, if you don't want all my serious talk about BNHA's societal issues or my problematic old man ships at the top. XD

Atsuhiro Sako: Hogwarts AU
Tumblr media
Atsuhiro Sako is a pureblood wizard that was born on the 8th of October 1963 and started attending Hogwarts on the 1st of September 1975, being sorted into Ravenclaw house.
Due to his charismatic nature, he was a very popular student and was friendly with practically everyone which was the main reason that his reappearance as a Death Eater years later baffled many.
He was the great-great-grandson of one of Azkaban's most infamous prisoners Oji Harima, who was a thief who stole gold from the richest wizarding families and gave it to the poor (with him being one of the only people to have ever successfully broken into Gringotts).
During his Hogwarts years, he was also the reigning champion of Gobstones with many students having tried to best him but never succeeded.
After graduating from Hogwarts, he started working at Zonko's Joke Shop before he eventually decided to become a Death Eater to help take control of the corrupted Ministry of Magic.
During those years, he became a mentor-like figure to a few of his comrades (most notably Tomura, Dabi, Himiko, Jin, Kenji & Shuichi) and eventually even lost his arm trying to avenge Kenji after her death.
He was also friends-with-benefits with Kurogiri during those years (with him being the only one to know that he was under the Imperius Curse and the only one to try and help him escape).
He was eventually defeated by Mirio during the Battle of Hogwarts and was sent to Azkaban for his actions but he and Oboro still keep in contact through letters.
He has a elm wand with a dragon heartstring core.
His Patronus is a shrew.
His favorite subjects are Charms and Divination.
His least favorite subjects are Potions and Flying.

are we ever gonna get the full context behind this?
like we know now that mr compress is oji harima's descendant and that his family has a "blood-bound" duty to fight against injustice but "ruling the underworld" seems more like something AFO would do not a family of vigilante thieves.

I feel like you’ve answered an ask describing this scenario before, but since I cannot find it I’ll just send this anyways;
Hit Compress with the DfO stick, he’s got Oji Harima as his great-great grandpa on his mother’s side and the demon king of the underworld is his dad, so he’s obviously the demon prince of thieves (a title unrecognized by his father.) And since AfO obviously supports his son in his criminal endeavors, (he does not) he’s decided to help his son train by building specialized escape rooms (vaults) for him to escape from. (Wrong.)
here you go

Hustle and Bust: Crazy idea, Oji Harima in this AU is actually Yoichi's alter ego after he escaped AFO, thereby making the OFA Torchbearers the true descendants/inheritors of the Peerless Thief.
On one hand this means Midoriya is related to Compress. On the other hand it's very funny
