The Venture Bros.: Radiant Is the Blood of the Baboon Heart Embraces Duality and Confronts Reality
Is The Venture Bros. feature film a fitting end to this impeccable series? Oh, I don't know, does the Monarch hate Venture??
It was the Winter of 2003. Nerds and geeks don’t have a seat at the table yet. The MCU doesn’t exist for another five years. However, we got something much more rare. When Adult Swim first aired their animated The Venture Bros. to a small, but stalwart fanbase, we got a show that never talked down to its audience and always paid in dividends.
It is the Summer of 2023. Twenty years and seven…

it's weird thinking back about how people were upset about Kevin drinking and having sex because it didnt match up with their idea of Kevin, the main focus of which was on his trauma. because his trauma has nothing to do with sex or alcohol. and idk it's weird the immediate assumption people jump to that any traumatized person wouldn't easily enjoy those things

GPTim would really like the Thrilling Adventure Hour/Welcome to Night Vale crossover, well, up until Croach fixes things. But the NV citizens hate the moon *so* much that they make it disappear, but not in their time in the future. So there’s moon destroying and time travel.
On a related note: Aurora would *hate* the TAH/WtNV crossover since the NV citiz-

Anyway, I just watched the performance of a lifetime, Cecil. The Table Scraps are phenomenal! I haven’t seen a show like that since I was a teenager, when music was more meaningful because emotions were easier to access. Unfortunately, they don't make music like they used to when my body felt good and my future was an open door to a sunny day. New so-called "music" just sounds like I'm in my late 40s and have a job I don't like, ugh.

I'm relistening to Welcome to Night Vale and I'm on The September Monologues and honestly, that was really the episode that made everyone love Steve if they didn't already, huh?
Steve Carlsburg is such a great character and this episode just really gives us so much to appreciate about him, him saying that he understands why Cecil hates him and he doesn't hold it against him because he understands Cecil, talking about how he loves his wife and daughter and Cecil loves his niece and that counts for a lot, and just letting you hear that Steve is actually just a normal guy who doesn't suck the way Cecil portrays him and talking about the dotted lines in the sky and how passionate he is about trying to get the information out
Hal Lublin I love you ;____;

WTNV quick review - 110 - Matryoshka
Staring Hal Lublin as the voice of Steve Carlsberg.
Wanna see more of the reviews? Go over your fave episode perhaps? Track down some vague info you kinda recall and think it's probably from around this or that part? Click here!
I once was lost, but now am fine with that. Welcome to Night Vale.
In this episode, Cecil's usual segments are interjected with Steve speaking to a crowd at the Hall of Public Records to help validate the existence of the angels.
He says that he heard the broadcast from Huntokar (although apparently noone else did instead hearing static over inhuman screaming) and has been trying for years to get people to acknowledge the reality of the charts in the sky to no avail.
He encourages the acknowledgment of the angels and says that he knows people believe him they just don't want to actually acknowledge anything which scares them.
Steve suggests that if people stopped trying to ignore what was happening, starting with the angels, it would help process the rifts in reality (he's right). He mentions that he finally stood up to Cecil and told him that all the mean jokes and comments hurt and needed to stop. Cecil in turn opened up about his childhood and why he felt it was easier to keep Steve at a distance than to risk getting hurt by more people again. This marked a turning point in their relationship.
The meeting ends with the angels being declared legally real.
Weather: "Everyone I Know Will Die" by Four Eyes
The many rips in the sky have merged into one big rip in reality, merging many realities all together with many citizens choosing to abandon their reality for another which is easier/better. When the angels are acknowledged, a part of the sky returns.
Hiram returns to NV to encourage the dragons to leave. Dana returns from the other reality and acknowledges the mistake that was made killing Violet. A piece of the sky returns.
Alondra Ortiz is moved by the angels passion for her mother and has decided to only take some personal items and heirlooms, negotiating the rest with the angels and perhaps staying in NV longer. A piece of the sky returns.
They acknowledge that it's not normal to be followed by agents all of the time. A piece of the sky returns.
They acknowledge that most towns are not run by monsters and heavily armed 16 year olds. A piece of the sky returns.
Cal (muttering about 'the bomb' and clearly dying of radiation sickness more so than ever) disappears and Dana acknowledges and accepts that her father is dead. Many people do similar acknowledgments and the sky fully returns.
Cecil speaks passionately about his new found respect for Steve. He says that Abby and he only started to get close again after their mother died and during Janice's infancy. Even though it was stressful, he saw Steve coming into the picture as making him useless and unfairly resented him for it. He now acknowledges that Steve is a good person that he loves.
Cecil also states that their reality was fragile because they were pretending it was something that wasn't, and by acknowledging it they will prevent rifts.
Stay tuned next for eye contact and breathing in unison. And as always, and for as long as I can keep saying it. Good night, Night Vale. good Night.

So Let’s Cast the Night Vale TV Show - Part Two, The Palmer-Carlsbergs
Welcome back to So Let’s Cast the Night Vale TV Show, an idea I came up with that was supposed to be community-sourced, but seems to be mostly led by myself. However, if you DO want to add your ideas, use the tag #nightvalefancast and let me know what you think.
This is probably the most self-indulgent casting so far, but I’m operating on the assumption that we can get literally anyone for the Night Vale show, and that several characters will be aged up for the show. (For example, when we get to Tamika Flynn next time, I’ll be aging her up as well.) In this case, it’s Janice who I’ve decided should be a high-school level basketball athlete at the start of the TV show, rather than the middle schooler she was in canon.
Okay! Let’s cast the Palmer-Carlsberg family!
Steve Carlsberg: Originally voiced by Hal Lublin. Fancast, Sean Astin
Nobody does wholesome step-dad like Sean Astin. Nobody. As some of you may know, I’m a big Lord of the Rings fan, so I’ve followed Mr. Astin’s social media, watched his interviews, read his autobiography, and the consensus seems to be that he’s an all-around charming guy and a blast to work with. Based on his role as Bob in Stranger Things, he’s already sort of done the loveable dad thing, so he’d be a perfect Steve. Plus, he looks like he’d coach a basketball team. He just does.
Abby Palmer: Not voiced. Fancast, Gina Gershon.
Is she way too famous? Yes. Is she too old? Absolutely not. Abby Palmer is an immortal milf. Abby should be knowledgeable yet down to earth with just a smidge of intimidating, and I think Gina Gershon is all of those things. Also, insanely hot. Also, I’m an Abby truther and want only the best to play her. I love Abby. Okay moving on.
Janice Palmer: Not voiced. Fancast, Kiera Allen
Kiera Allen is relatively unknown the industry, having just had her breakout role in Hulu’s “Run” opposite Sarah Paulson. However, that’s not due to her lack of talent; probably more due to the ableism that is still unfortunately present in Hollywood and LA. Kiera Allen was the second female wheelchair-user to star in a suspense thriller; a genre that’s been included in Night Vale multiple times. She’s a graduate of Columbia University! Janice is witty and charismatic, and I think Allen would bring that out well, having the chance to play something different from her horror-fied character in “Run”.
Khoshekh AKA Silas: Originally voiced by Jonathan Attkinson. Fancast, Timothee Chalamet
This is just here for the memes.
