ABOUT HAIKYUU!! Movies and Fukurodani
i’ve been thinking A LOT about the Fukurodani vs Mujinazaka match and whether or not it’s gonna make it to any of the two movies we are getting
I just think there’s a lot to put in just two movies, unless they are like 3 hours long each
And I just hope really really hope they don’t take that away from us gaaaaaahh like there’s a lot going on in that match!!!!
• Akaashis internal monologue, and his self consciousness, and how he is really passionate about volleyball
• Akaashi calling Bo a star,
• AKAASHI SMILING AND LAUGHING!!!
• Bokuto being so so freaking awesome and yes he’s a star,
• the crowd cheering for him and bo adores it,
• Konoha being a little ass ignoring bokuto and tossing to Sarukui instead
• Fukurodanis coach and Suzumeda considering Akaashi is a weirdo too
• Akaashi just being so fkng proud of bokuto and could you blame him,
• all of bokutos tender smiles when he tells akaashi his tosses are the best
• THE WE ARE THE PROTAGONISTS OF THE WORLD LINE !!!!! AND WHAT IT IMPLIES
• Akaashi crying after their match,
• Bokuto being there for him rebutting his rebuttals
• the whole team watching them
!!!! THERES A LOT GOING ON AND I DONT WANT IT TO BE TAKEN AWAY FROM MEEE
ALSO little akaashi and bokuto AND their first time meeting with akaashi being awestruck by the star bokuto koutarou is aaaaahhhhhhh
yeah thats about it, but im fine really

can i just say how much i love this interaction? hq!! points a lot to class disparity, and in hinata going abroad, it begins to explicitly deal with racism…and never does it deal with these real-life issues in a “sob story” sort of way. instead, it’s a “i will overcome this” way. not that it’s at all a wrong thing to let yourself feel/be affected by the conditions of your life, but it’s as furudate says — in volleyball, you’re always “looking up” <3

I need some more Udai Tenma appreciation! He’s just a funky little guy who didn’t wanna do volleyball anymore and then became a mangaka. I love him

Sometimes I just think about the way Kuroo’s dub voice actor said ‘I like to take the spotlight every once in a while too’ in that low voice and get a little flustered

So I was rereading the Kamomedai match the other day (it was way better then I remember) and towards the end, every member of Karasuno is getting their final moment. Daichi gets one more clutch defensive, Asahi gets one more fantastic power spike, Noya gets one more ridiculous save, and so on. Suga’s final moment is the one that stands out the most to me.
When Tsuki gets injured someone else has to go in. Ukai is trying to choose between Yamaguchi and Suga, and Suga just sets (hehe) him straight. Suga does the selfless thing to let the better player go in for him. Because of course he does, that’s his final moment, just like Noya’s spikes or Asahi’s spikes.

haikyuu is incredible man…
you ever think about the fact that some people exist not to become stars but to lead others towards the light? ….
hinata was so moved by the little giant that his life found meaning the moment he came into his life (and the little giant never really ended up becoming a pro volleyball player in the first place despite his drive and talent!)
nekomata sensei’s “all we have to do is to lower the net!” shaped kuroo’s entire existence. it left such an impression on him that kuroo turned it into his goal in life: helping as many people as possible discover volleyball.
kuroo himself never going pro but becoming instead a bridge between people and volleyball (which he loves so dearly he wants to make it everyone’s business).
takeda sensei’s “He Who Would Climb a Ladder Must Begin at the Bottom” (which he says to hinata during his first year) became so meaningful to him that hinata hanged it on the wall of his bedroom in Brazil.
sugawara becoming a teacher and getting emotional when facing hinata (to whom he used to set when kageyama refused to do it) and kageyama (who quite literally took what had been his place up until the moment he came) and their growth.
you might think you will never end up doing anything great. instead, i believe you might not end up doing something grand, but whatever it is that you do in life it will always be great and you simply never know whether that one thing you said once or that one thing you once did will ever become the driving force behind someone else’s dream.

haikyuu is cool because you go and read things like "talent is something you make bloom, instinct is something you polish" "because people don't have wings we look for others way to fly" "today you are the defeated. what will you become tomorrow?" "we are the protagonists of the world" "and if you get really really good, someone even better will come and find you". and you read about how like. kageyama was learning to love again after it was ripped away from him and hinata was learning that he could jump high enough to become the sun itself and oikawa and ushijima and atsumu and kuroo and everyone else were all learning and trying and living with the hopes of becoming something greater than they ever could have dreamed but that something greater wasn't about winning it all it was about how they were so intricately tied that they will forever be part of the same path no matter how many times it splits and it's THE reason they are able to keep moving forward no matter what they may face. and then you're just expected to continue your life afterwards like nothing HAPPENED.
